Remember to complete the Shattered Bloodlines survey folks! Surveys are the best tool to give the devs your feedback and your voice matters!Feel free to leave your "one change" below!
My "one change" was to add a drop-down list in the options menu to let you choose what you want your menu music to be. I suggested this so that those who prefer the classics can return to the original theme, while the designers who made the Clown's theme won't feel like their work will be lost to the ages now. This way at the very least, you can all have the menu music you prefer which will make opening the game a more positive, and hopefully more frequent, event!

I was playing as a survivor in the PTB and there was a concerning bug I experienced. Whenever the killer picked up a survivor their aura was revealed for five seconds or so, my perks at the time were: Saboteur III, Self-Care III, Kindred III, Open-Handed III during the first game and I swapped out Saboteur for Bond III the second game. In both games whenever the killer picked up someone I saw their aura for about 5 seconds. I'm not certain if this is a bug resulting from the Alert Change, but I think it might.
On the subject of the Alert buff, I think it's actually fine. You see, it only reveals the killer while they are breaking pallets and generators. So for basic movement, hooking, vaulting, attacking, power usage the Alert users will see jack-crap. Not to mention Brutal Strength, Spirit's Fury and the Chainsaws should shrink this window, right?
-
@Nero Hillbilly feels easier to play simply because he is more forgiving than Myers. His perks help him start and continue chases making him hard to lose. With his fearsome sprint, he can also quickly catch up on survivors that gain distance. Combined with the one-hit-down all game he is definitely a more forgiving killer.
Myers's perks fight each other as two of them encourage you to spare your obsession while the other one encourages you to kill the obsession early, wasting your other perks. On top of this, Myer's relies on keeping survivors visible to charge his power. Since survivors are aware of this fact it can be downright infuriating trying to charge Evil Within which in turn restricts you to a slower speed and smaller lunge.
Both killers are good, but Myers relies upon certain-addons and perks to become good. Meanwhile, with just his teachable perks alone the Hillbilly is good. When you put other perks on him, he can become a god.
-
I mean when no gens are done and I can hook two survivors near each other what am I supposed to do, leave? If defending my kills punishes me and helps me stay in easier and more casual ranks then by all means:

They will have the first laugh as they cause killers to depip. We will have the last laugh when they have no more lobbies when all of the killers enter the low ranks.
-
@Sinner Mate, what are you doing? BBQ and Chili is honestly fine. I need you to do me a favor and think for a second now. BBQ and Chili only reveals auras for 4 seconds after a survivor is hooked. BBQ and Chili is fine because you have plenty of time to anticipate the perk.
Your first chance is once a survivor is injured, OR if the Obsession spikes are moving in the HUD.
- This signifies to all survivors that a survivor is in a chase and is near the killer. If you have Empathy you
can gain a hint of where the killer is allowing you to better focus.
- This signifies to all survivors that a survivor is in a chase and is near the killer. If you have Empathy you
The second chance is once a survivor is downed.
- Granted, some killers use Knockout to deny you the aura, but if that's the case they may be going for a
slug game in which case BBQ won't activate until after everyone is down. - This means that you will recieve a notification of where the survivor will likely be hooked. This in-turn lets
you position yourself within the range so you remain hidden.
- Granted, some killers use Knockout to deny you the aura, but if that's the case they may be going for a
The third opportunity is once the survivor is hooked.

seconds to waste the perk aura.
- You can intentionally run in a direction you have no plans on going to for 4 seconds then turn around at 5
The final opportunity you have is the Terror Radius.
- None of the killers you mentioned have the power to completely catch you off-guard.
- The Hillbilly has a loud saw which by itself you have you listening for the TR.
- The Nurse screams in agony when blinking so all you need to do there is listen to the volume of her
screams. - Finally the Spirit has a TR warning or a Phase sound warning if you are outside of the TR.
- All in all, nobody can actually completely catch you off-guard. This is of course assuming that you don't
use the above counters to avoid being seen at all.

I'll be frank folks, if this change is passed it will help killers who camp stay low, do you know what that means? Next time the developers have a "Play with the devs!" event, I'll bet 500 iridescent shards, on more than 1/5 of their games seeing them camped.
Yep.. I think so too. As I said earlier the change will only increase camping not decrease it. If people want stay low rank while still getting points they could just play a match normally and then camp the rest of it to lower the chaser Emblem.. this idea really isn't well thought through imo.
I'm actually very excited to see if this goes through or not. If it does, I just can't wait to see the devs get camped. It will end in a disaster of course as last time a staff member fell victim to unpleasantness in-game (i.e. Mathieu's Blinding Session) there was a massive nerf towards that mechanic. However, since the devs have defended camping before I am curious to see what changes they would do if they decided it had become a problem. Unless of course this is their change, in which case:

The way I see it, @George_Soros , they're going to de-rank anyway. So I figure if they're going to de-rank regardless then it would be best for them to de-rank in a way that hurts the smallest number of players as possible.George_Soros said:Guys... don't tell me you can't see how being afk screws the game up. Don't snuff Quentin just yet! After all, he can get Claudette all of the Medkits she wants. Not to mention, Vigil helps him support her just by being near her. As a final bonus, he can hold the door for her better than anyone else.Chi said:No, they do. And literally to me Claudette and Adam fit together as well as Claudette and David (King) or Quentin. Though if we're being real Quentin is probably still hoping to get out of the entity's realm and find Nancy. -
To be honest I have earned a number of the PC achievements with DCing survivors. Though I guess there is a max limit of DCs before it won't count the victory.

Wait a second, if Jake is so individualisric, then why does he grab Claudette's hand and drag her to the generator in the intro? If he really wants to be alone he was fully capable of running away, ditching her, or gesturing for her to leave. -

@Peasant said: In order for my games to become casual, I need to rank up enough to have competent allies while also staying low enough to avoid competent opponents
Translation: I don't want a real challenge which ever mode I'm in. You literally said you want incompetent killers when you are a survivor, and vice versa when you are the killer.
Look, you don't like high rank games because it gets hard and the game is unbalanced. Fine. I get it. But deranking so you can get your participation trophy isn't the answer. Letting the devs figure out how to balance the game and establishing a true win condition. They thusfar have NOT done that. Because its hard. I could write a lengthy post as to how I think the balance and win conditions, but its not my job. I have fun playing the game, and stop when I'm not.
The problem is, the ranking system is putting you at a higher skill level then you should be. It "got you gud", but you're not. That might be a balance issue, it might be a leveling issue.
It would seem that I have written that segment poorly. The point I was attempting to make was that there are a number of players who intentionally sabotage their rank just for casual games. People just want to play the game and couldn't care less about ranks. Those were the points I had attempted to make there.

just a pity that the devs won't consider such change EVER...
one thing I want to mention is that piping should become harder for both sides (right now its ridiculously easy) and that there should be ranked rewards at the end of the season
I do hope the devs will at least consider these changes.
I also agreed that pipping needs to be harder and more rewarding in the future.

It's only a temporary change. Besides, once I finish prestiging Quentin I will be switching my profile to his mug. After all, while #Cake is good and all, I think we all know that as long as David isn't shirtless girls just flock to the dreamboat. So even if I die protecting a Claudette all match as Jake, if there's a Quentin in-game she'll run off with him. #Foreveralone

Yeah, apparently Open Handed stacks with Kindred III twice. So you can have 24-meter killer reveal around hooks. That's super fun.
In all seriousness, the best solo build I can think of is Self-Care, Bond, Kindred III, Open-Handed. Bond + Open-Handed helps you find people w> @Vietfox said:

Wow never thought about that. But i don't like the idea of using a perk slot to support another perk anyway.
Btw, kindred 3 is 8 meters and open-handed 3 another 8 meters, so it should be 16. Quick maths
Kindred III has 8 meters at base.
Open-Handed on the person using it adds an extra 8 meters.
If you can convince an additional player to run Open-Handed then you can get the full 24 meters.
8+8+8=24
8*3=24

My funniest Dbd moment was one Trapper game on Shelter Woods. It was definitely a 4-man swf due to their actions.
I was new at the time (Iow playtime as killers overall + white rank). I had just trapped the shack window and I was still searching for traps when I stumbled across one of them. Needless to say they got trapped when they tried to shack loop so I basement hooked them.
After doing this I was swarmed by the other three that were all trying to lead me away so someone could go for the save. I didn't leave the inside of the house and within 30 seconds they all DC'd at the same exact time.
It was beautiful. -
They are playing as the killer. Please enlighten me on how a psychotic killer isn't sick.tennmio said:Mringasa said:I always find it amusing when playing against people as Michael. I'll start Stalking them, they begin to run away and then turn back because I'm not chasing. Then they teabag a time or two and hop back on a generator. So amusing to suddenly pop T2 or T3 and then grab them off it. Not every Killer who is standing there watching you is a friend!
Anyone who pretends to farm, then just kills everyone is pretty trashy. I don't know how difficult it is to play Killer on the ps4, but that's about scraping the bottom of the barrel. But really, you can't trust any Killer. Just like Survivors, they're out to do their "job" and get some phat BP as well. You have to expect anything from them, just like Survivors will do whatever they can for an advantage. It's the way the game is played. It might be toxic and low, but if it's in the game there is nothing you can really do about it. Looked at from the Killer's angle, it's a pretty damn good strategy.
"Strategy"? OMG...I can't see how it's a "strategy" in any way. To gain the trust of s.o. just to finish them off after being satisfied. That's not only toxic behavior, that is what you find in the mind of psychopaths/sociopaths.I think that is sick...
After all, the Clown for example, sounds sick in more ways than one. -
I guess they either don't use the forums, or have just gotten used to the standard killer mindset of: ", Peace sells, but who's buying?"MisterCremaster said:@Peasant said:
- They're a bell spamming Wraith
- They are frequently nodding
- They actually friend you in the lobby solely to tell you that they're farming.
- They take you to a generator and hit it.
Unless one of these things happens, assume they're out for blood.
I just tested this in 3 games... maybe ONE survivor understood the signals. The rest did all the gens, then t-bagged at the exit gate. Even though i was BLATANTLY not trying. I'm talking picking them, and dropping them next to gens, hitting it with my weapon (not even breaking), then picking them up until they wiggled free.
I did this MULTIPLE times, and it was crazy how many ran away.

It's too true.Hit the "Play As Killer" button and BHVR's matchmaking me will find me an all-star SWF team, with coordination and planning skills that would make the SAS jealous. They'll be better equipped than Bond, and traverse the map with the grace of the Russian state ballet.
Hit "Play As Survivor", and the matchmaking algorithm trawls for three cretins.
Edit: Of which, at least two will be Jake Park.
I am competent! I just can't seem to pip since the rest of my team doesn't know what a generator is, or how to repair one.

Initially, I started by playing mostly Trapper. Then as I browsed my options and watched some guides I learned that the Doctor made more Bloodpoints per round overall compared to most of the killers. I was new, I lacked a lot of the teachable perks and decided that it was in my best interest to main the Doctor. After a while, I started practicing with Huntress and realized that the Huntress was the better fit for me.

I usually listen to Megadeath while playing as the killer. More specifically:
- Peace Sells, But Who's Buying?
- Killing is My Business
As the survivor, my music tastes are honestly too random to list.
