Corrupt intervention, Play with your food, monitor and abuse and Rancor is something i have managed to get to work. I found Play with your food to be particularly good cause of the normal vomit not counting as a offensive action. You can change out corrupt intervention for ruin and monitor and abuse for BBQ depending on how your playstyle is.

I like this but I suggest scrapping corrupt intervention. It only gives you 2 mins and most of the time u can only hook 1 survivor by then anyways so it doesnt truly have a large effect on your game and winds up being a wasted perk. Literally anything else will help you out better 😄 Imo

Sounds like a well deserved and needed nerf if his release had such a detrimental affect on the game.

I only wish the slew of knock on perk buffs that made Nurse / Billy so tedious to play against would be similarly resolved.

His nerf was simply because new players who did not know how to play against him whined and complained to an extreme level. Its the same thing thats happening to MoM. Ppl just dont want to be challenged and adapt anymore, which to me is the best part of being a killer! I guess its just a sense of entitlement now that ppl have where they feel like the rewards should come easy, without having to work for it, or fail a few times. Any resistance given to them is a problem with the game not their skill level 😂

  • Im absolutely addicted to DBD. I have played for 2 years and made it to rank 1 as both killer and survivor. I have dealt with this games ups and downs through thick and thin! I have loved and hated it. I have had times where even the idea of playing killer stresses me out but I cant stop myself from trying. It is a drug to me lol. Ive quit and come back, quit and come back. This game is awesome and I am learning to let go of the try hard attitude and just learn to try out different things and have fun, win or lose. I have even started having more regular good games with this attitude and its much more fun. Now I enjoy my addiction rather than fight with it at least lol

  • My bad! For some reason that escaped my notice lol Detectives Orders it is lol

i mean, playing solo you're either getting sandbagged by your team, camped, slugged, or tunneled by the killer. You don't earn hardly anything. You have Unintentional DCs midgame as both survivor and killer, and infinite loading screens for both sides(still). Then you have rage quitters who destroy your ability to pip as survivor AND killer.

I actually don't blame anyone for taking a break or just uninstalling the game. Combined with the trash emblem system and the match making system that throws ranks of all types together and this is the experience you get.

I agree that the game has been, and is very frusterating for both sides. The game is amazingly fun, but if you are too competitive as I was for a while, you can start to feel like the losses are personal. An affront to your skill level.

I think the ppl threatening to quit playing are doing so out of desperation. They probably feel like all of their concerns are going unanswered or like they are not being heard by the developers. Many of them have made the posts, vented their frustrations and offered suggestions, only to be responded to with mainly negative and toxic input from the game communities and this one as well. Nothing ever reassuring comes from the devs as to how or when any REAL fixes to balancing will happen. These people are hoping and praying that by threatening to not play, the devs might finally respond.

While I get their frustrations, I have learned to play the game for fun 😄 Experiment with different builds and STOP BEING AFRAID TO LOSE! You wont ever find your greatest character and build until you just throw yourself at it and try without caring about the outcome :) If people get toxic just BE NICE and show your the bigger person. GG them and find a way to compliment what that player did in the match. Keep trying and even do some meme builds to keep yourself humble. Im telling you if people do this the toxicity will die out (Just a little bit)....lol. *Good ol Monto*

Leaving isnt the answer tho ppl

    Git Gud is 😄

This isn't bait at all folks, this was posted in the survivor subsection for the purpose of warning us about these kinds of hags, they're telling us that we should run:

    Small Game

    Kindred

    Dead Hard

    Deliverance or Self Care

    Flashlight + Battery + Amplifer

    and Murky Regent

Truth man! I actually posted this in survivor subsection by mistake lol AND the forum was having issues LN so it repeat posted! I do aplologize! However i did leave it up so that survivors can see what we killers get up to in our darker moments, and have some fun playing with counters!

P.S. Your build would do well i think! However that Hag build I posted is pretty potent if your team isnt on point!

  • you know I’ve started to play killer more and more mainly due to lobby times being faster, as well as needing to farm more bp.

Thank you! I have always felt that Killers are the minority and deserve a little respect for the harrowing games survivors put us through. It is not easy being an efficient killer, and it takes a high degree of patience and determination to git gud with them. I really appreciate your comment here.

Maybe i have just a déjà-vu, or i indeed read this the 5th time today. Three times in the Survivor section and only once where it belongs...

The forum was having issues last night and it kept erasing my post after publishing and timing me out after 1 post! So I guess my multiple attempts all went through. My sincere apologies Im not a spammer

  • @PunL said:

@LightsOut88 Maybe if you see this builds neccessary, then its maybe the games way to tell you that this rank is to high for your actual skill-level? I really dont want to be rude, its just as it is.

I am stuck in the purple ranks and thats ok i guess.

    As for @bendermac

The dark times are long past... have you experienced pallet vacuums, the ultra long loops like the old cow-tree, or the time when a SWF group could tell each other which perks the killer uses?

The dark times are long gone. I really would like to see the distribution of killer and survivor ranks atm, but from what i see there are far more red killers than red survivors.

I see what your saying, however I hit rank 1 a few months back and am now stuck on a hard rank 11. I really feel like its not my skill level that has diminished; its the new emblem system that makes ranking down much harder! I have to adapt to it still, and I am not liking it.

As far as my builds go though, you may have overlooked where I mentioned using them against SWF running all metas x4. I agree in a normal game thats not SWF, a decent killer will be able to still do well without the steamroller builds. My point was entirely that the bully builds are becoming more of a standard way to play because of all the second chances survivors get in a match. Its going to have the reverse effect on the game and just make it worse for everyone? More Dc's and more toxicity.

  • @Fres0c0 said:

More like welcome to instant down killers or all m1 killers bringing a mori

Exactly, since yesterday I have had to pull out my steamroller killer builds with purple or higher addons in order to be able to even compete with swfs running all these second chance metas.

I used to only use these overwhelming killer builds after a really bad game in order to untilt myself, however now that we have such a huge amount of ppl running m.o.m with all the other metas already in play(Not even counting insta heals) l am finding these builds to be necessary now rather than the exception or the option!

See, and this is where the toxicity in the dbd community comes from. Survivors run these bullshit builds and give the killer next to no chance if they play it well. Killers get mad and camp, tunnel, run there own meta perks and ultra rare addons and moris in retaliation. Then the survivors call foul play on killers for being so sweaty and claim that the game isnt fair and the devs cater to the majority (Which is survivors by a long shot!) and more ######### ideas just keep filtering through. Its a broken yet fun system that is as equally frustrating as it is enjoyable so... Were between a rock and a hard place.

Until the Dead by Daylight community as a whole decides to quit pushing so hard to make one side OP and try and promote a fun balanced game, even at competitive ranks; we will never see this game change for the better 😥

  • Killer main here. M.o.M is just fine. It adds another dynamic that skilled killers can and will adapt to and is another great tool for survivors in clutch situation. Good killers shouldnt really struggle all that much just because of an extra hit!

The only time I can see it being an issue is is in SWF where all 4 survivors are running second chance meta perks like DS, Unbreakable, M.o.M, Adrenaline and Deliverance as well as insta heals. @SpaceCoconut has a video where the survivors made 14 second chance plays and it was saddening to watch as a killer how unbalanced it can truly get! No killer can enjoy a game played this way!

  • Bubba is a add-on reliant killer in order to be good. His base kit is absolute #########, hes the most impotent killer in the game imo. I think they need to make all killers at least viable at base kit up to about rank 8, and lets face it! They are not. Leatherface being the least viable among them. Pretty much every killer needs good add ons to regular 4k, but you should be able to do well with them without them and without his addons, Bubba can struggle against rank 15 novices as long as they know to run towards pallets and try an occasional loop. So far the only great liscenced killer is Myers and Im not even good with him.

Im not even sure how id fix Bubba tbh, but the devs should start by taking away his vaJJ and giving him some balls in some fashion.

  • @DudeDelicious. That build of yours is actually quite nasty on any killer if your goal is to simply stop gens getting done at all lol! I may steal that build and use it on Spirit lmao! With prayer beads and a flute there will be no gens getting done at all just ppl running for their lives hoping they dont depip lol.

  • @PunL said:

And why are you posting this in the Survivor section of the forum?

Also there are better things to get salt with, but hey nice try anyway, keep going.

Hey my bad, I posted in the survivor forum by mistake! Wasnt trying to get salt on the forum. It is a decent build though and I guess survivors can use this in case they run up against it and have some good counters so Ill just leave it in here 😄

There are tons of great ways to get salt and survivors have a new tool now for it! Its called MoM and I think its great unless u have 4 ppl using meta perks then the joy of being a killer is gone 😥 lol

  • @[Deleted User] said:

But that is a truly awesome Hag build. I hope I NEVER go against you as survivor. I just struggle against Hag period!

I just recently started playing Hag and for the longest time I was afraid to use her. Now that I have though I see how powerful she is and her map pressure is outrageous! With that build I posted I get a dm every single game usually lol. That 19 min Freddy game you mentioned must have literally felt like a nightmare they just couldnt get out of! Lol

  • I want Freddy to get his rework and I want him to be a tier 1 killer. Otherwise dbd has its issues but is in a great place right now besides the emblem/pip system. That also needs a rework.

  • I find her really fun to play with but she is a mid tier killer at best. Vile purge can be a bit frustrating, but when you get a good soaking on someone she has the potential to down survivors faster than most killers. She is very potent with add ons in the right hands.

@LightsOut88 throw Coulrophobia and Green Dress into the mix and they’ll NEVER get that healing skill check.

The same button that you use to hit skill checks. So once you are either healing yourself or another person just press that button. There are times where you have to keep doing it.

@Mat_Sella Yeah, I don't really mind the current killers I'm seeing tbh. Just think it's weird to not pip after having a good game where I escape, but in most cases I still get quite a bit of points.

Its the same struggle for killer. I got a 3 man after what was a very challenging match and still safety pipped. I had do do soooo much to even get the third kill and because I didnt play perfectly according to the emblems platform I seem to be forever stuck at rank 11 Killer when 4 months ago I was rank 1 before I took a break. I came back to Dbd and killer is even harder than it was before!

  • What button is it on ps4? I have over 1000 hours in dbd and still dont know how to insta-heal lmao 😂 Thank you for being the first one brave enough to ask this!

  • I had a player who kept making terrible hook saves and the killer obviously did not want to tunnel, so after about 3 hook farms the killer completely watched him unhook me, walked straight past me and hounded this kids ass for the rest of the game relentlessly lol. He kept slugging him, and letting him be healed then tunneled him down again and slugged again until he just quit lol. The rest of us just stood by and watched and when the killer was done we all played a normal 3 man game and all scored well, even tho he did kill me lol

My point is that I appreciate a killer who recognizes how ######### this is and took so much vengeance on our behalf :)

  • @Mc_Harty said:

@Edilibs I would not be running Nurses on Freddy. His base aura reading alone is strong enough of a tracking tool. I would swap it out for Sloppy Butcher.

I actually use nurses and sloppy butcher. It boosts Freddys already powerful aura reading ability and sloppy slows down the heals so I can almost always make it to the survivors before they finish the heal. It also stops players from healing within your TR which is the only place Freddys aura reading becomes neutralized. When nurses shows 2 or more players aura healing eachother its very satisfying! Espescially when u know sloppy is making those heals difficult :) Its an easy way to keep players asleep because you can easily catch them together, and have a little extra time to get there and be a savage little dream demon!

  • @GraviteaUK said:

A survivor complaining about DC, Oh the sweet sweet irony.

You smell that bois? that's the stench of hypocrisy.

    1. Omg tunneler
    2. Omg camper
    3. omg ur bad

You get 1 survivor DC per game now and you can blame bugs all you want but when it's just after they go down or about to get hook it's just too convenient.

There are screenshots on this forum with entire teams choosing a DC.

Yup! Played a game as Spirit with ruin amd got 3 dc's instantly. Next game same build 2 dc's in 30 seconds its pathetic. Ive rage quit as killer maybe 3 times in 2 years. Just git gud and quit quitting on all sides. If survivors had a good ga e let em have it. If a killer downs you in 8 seconds take it like a true gamer, and press on!

  • @ApeOfMazor said:

Just dream demon the generators bro.

What do you mean by this? I feel dumb 😆

  • Thank you for the advice everyone! I honestly didnt know what was happening! I guess its possible there was an sleeping survivor blocking me that I didnt see. I have presriged Freddy and usually dont have too much trouble, but lately it seems I just cant get him to work for me and it saddens me. I may sink some time into a few other killers, chalk it up to a few horrible games, and try Freddy again when Im less tilted with him.

  • @fluffybunny said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/399190#Comment_399190

@LightsOut88 I haven't noticed an increase in survivor toxicity. It seems about the same as before (which really isn't saying much since it was already quite toxic). I'm generally around rank 10~14 and not a killer main, though, so I believe you. It's probably as the others have said and due to the emblem system changes.

Your probably right, Its just in the last 2 days Ive noticed it more and more. Maybe I just went on tilt once because of it amd now i am super semsitive and notice every one lol 😆

  • Ive noticed it! But on the survivor side. Ive seen more teabags in dbd this week than I have at Tim Hortons. Like seriously. Survivor drops one pallet 40 seconds in = Rapid Teabag. Survivor vaults a window before my lunge = 10 Teabags, Survivor sees me from a distance = Teabag Time, Survivor at the gates = Inf Teabags.....

Need I go On! Screw off with that ish, or start giving killers emotes lol

  • Lol naw bro. I have more exp w freddy than any other killer! I aint playin him wrong. You must have misunderstood this post. I find him to be great! He just has specific areas where he becomes survivor bait.

  • Exactly! Some matches I do exceptionally well with Freddy and he is the killer I always wind up securing massive bp's with! However he is also the only killer that can reach a point in game where I feel like the survivors cut my balls off, and are playing keep away with them. No killer is as powerless as Freddy against a cooperating group.

  • I like clown, but I find his playstyle to be super lineal. 1Dimensional. Sure i can rack up 4ks with him but his playstyle is really boring and unrewarding. I defs find clown the most boring as far as fun games for everyone go.
An Anti-Looper killer w M1 yay!! How entertaining!
  • I wasnt referring to you specifically, but I was refering to your post about the skill it takes. I actually agree with you that it is much easier nowadays to be killer than it was a year ago. I also have been playing for around 2 years so our knowledge of the game is probably at around the same level my friend.
However i am more referring to the effort it takes to complete the objectives, making them harder to do, and thus requiring more player skill overall.
Each killer also has a unique power that you have to learn and adapt to. Survivors are SUPER GENERIC! You can play any survivor the same way.
Gen patrol as LF and Lose. Hook camp as Spirit and Lose. Each killer has a unique way of being played efficiently.
So I have to ask myself if you are having such good luck because you only play 1 killer you have mastered? Or are you just a God at the game and have such an ez time with all killers? I doubt the latter sincerely! The fact that killers have tier lists shows you that! I dont see any survivor tier lists cause theyare all the same!
Taking the time to master each killer and do well is only possible by knowing the ins and outs of survivor gameplay, which makes your average killers the far more skilled than your average survivors.
  • The way I see it is that it takes more skill to play an effective killer. The killer is a lone wolf trying to stop 4 other ppl from completing objectives. The surviors have team mates that they can coordinate with and even get breaks during the match! Every time you get hooked as a survivor you have a small amount of time to relax, get your bearings and plan your next move! (If not you got hook farmed by your teamate, not my problem)
As a killer the match is a hustle from start to finish! A killer cant relax at all! They have to play at no chill mode in order to win 100% of the way through the game. A killer is also punished waaay harder for their mistakes! Whiff an attack and gain 15 to 30 more seconds of a chase, bad rng can screw a killers game up right off the bat.
Anyone who says survivor takes more 'Skill' than killer has not played enough killer, or has not played killer at low rank. Killer is definately more challenging in that you have to counter good survivors and take advantage of their mistakes! Oh and did I mention there are 4 of you! Lol. You dont see killers bullying survivors unless the survivors simply suck or dont understand the finer points of the game. Survivors ha e it EZ.
Survivor is only hard with trash teamates.
    Gut Gud! Play Killer!
  • The post may come off as arrogant, but truthfully it is packed with high level advice. Keeping all these points in mind will make you a better killer a d or survivor. And yes its hard to remember them all, all the time but the more you practice these things the more natural they become.
  • Freddy Slaughter Build
    Nurses Calling
    Sloppy Butcher
    Remember Me
    Fire Up

  • Clown is good, but only with the proper build and add ons. As a base killer he just doesnt have enough potency to close out chases against good survivors. Hes fast but it doesnt make up for his abilities lack of power without the addons which makes him a mid tier killer at best!

Without add ons he is basically only effective if the survivors cant mind game at all or dont know where the pallets and jungle gyms are. So basically

Great Killer from rank 20 to about rank 8.
Mid tier Killer- Rank 7 to Rank 5

Waste of Life Tier- Rank 4 to 1

    IMO
  • You can still win without add-ons. I never said you "needed" them. Only ppl who suck at Freddy say he "doesnt work" or isnt sustainable. Against a disorganized team or even small swfs you can still be a overwhelming force w freddy. Freddy fails against full swf teams on mics or against players who simpmy play well as a team (which most survivors dont) because his power relies on keeping the survivors in a chaotic state and seperated from one another. The only broken part of Freddy is self care wake up BS
  • I thought it was just me, but I havent been able to get a game of survivor in 3 days! I can play killer no problem but the wait for survivor is like 20 mins just to have a 600 ping killer
  • Z block and Pillbottle add ons. Not sure about the la la muzik going away tho tgat could have been a bug
  • Idk... I used to main survivor, hit rank 1 and went killer main. That was about 3 months ago. Now, maybe its the patches. Maybe the maps have changed, or the pallet rng isnt what it used to be but I am struggling now and it cant be that Ive just "lost" my survivor skill lol. Its defs harder to pip now as survivor then ever before!
  • Tru3ta1ent is the best skill wise. Monto is good and does super fun builds for his killers and survivors, hybridpanda and tydetyme are good too! Tru3 got me from a rank 15 goonie to rank 1 by watching him play.
  • Same here. Im Rank 1 and still use Freddy to 4K. Never had an issue with him. In fact im really good with him and never understood why people struggle so much using him. It amazes me how much people ######### about facing freddy yet classify him as trash tier! Yes i understand that he has the weakest power. However when used unpredictably amd with the right add ons Freddy is a savage and frusterating killer to survive against and really fun to play AS HE IS!!
  • Crizpen said:

So, I've collected a lot of feedback from survivors I've faced in Dead by Daylight, and this is what is okay and what isn't okay to play when you start your lobby. I thought I'd include this here for new killers, so you don't suffer through all the mean comments you'll get after the match.

First off, here are the killers you can and cannot play:

    • Nurse is out, unless it's your first time playing her, then it's okay. But no more than 5 matches, ever.
    • Hillbilly you can play, but only if you also bring a Lery's or Ormond offering. Otherwise, he's out. Especially if you ever bring instant chainsaws or the drift king build; those are very bad to play.
    • Spirit is likewise out, and especially so if you bring Prayer Beads Bracelet. Don't play her.
    • Legion is very much not okay to play, under any circumstances, with any build, at any time. If you even bought that killer or the DLC, you should uninstall immediately and then Kermit yourself.
    • Leatherface is toxic! Even if you don't bring insidious, or camp hooks, he's toxic just because. No, he's not a super awesome killer, but still, super toxic!
    • Freddy is annoying, you shouldn't play him. Sure, he's the worst killer, but still, you shouldn't play Freddy ever.
    • Doctor is out, UNLESS you message each survivor and tell them to bring Calm Spirit, then he's okay. But only then!
    • Clown is bad: people don't like their vision going all squiggly, or that he's good in chases. Don't play Clown unless you're prepared to pay the survivors' optometrist bill after!
    • Hag is really bad! Not as bad as Legion, but still, very bad to play. You shouldn't play her unless you're not going to plant any traps.
    • Myers is okay under certain circumstances, but never with Scratched Mirror and Monitor and Abuse. That's just mean! He's scary and this isn't a horror game! Also, you shouldn't pop Evil Within 3 right before you hit someone. You should pop it at max distance and then catch up to them so they have a fair chance to drop a pallet.
    • Wraith and Pig are okay to play, but not if you're going to use their stealth against the survivors. That's not nice! You shouldn't crouch as the Pig or cloak as the Wraith unless the survivors can clearly see where you are and what you're doing!
    • Trapper and Huntress are both fair game, until you get too good with hatchets, at which point you need to retire your Huntress. Also, don't plant traps below windows, in grass, or in pathing choke points. They're harder to avoid there, so don't do it.

So, now that you know who you can play, let's move on to how you can play.

You'll notice some survivors start the match with weird claws or branches around their names. Ignore that, it doesn't mean anything special. Oh, okay, you got me! Unless you're running an obsession perk, it means the survivor is, and most of the time it's Decisive Strike. That's a survivor perk that allows them to jump off your shoulder and stun you. It's a perk usually run by bad survivors who see it as their only chance to escape you.

You might also discover that it takes them a few seconds after being picked up to activate the perk and escape you. You should simply stand still and let them do it. It isn't mean or toxic of them to do it, it's their only chance to win, after all! Never repeatedly drop them on the way to a hook, this is known as dribbling or juggling, and it's SUPER toxic. Don't do that. They don't try to avoid your traps or anything, so you shouldn't try to avoid their DS. Also, it's unacceptable to slug them, or simply let them bleed out on the floor. That's very mean, and you should never do it.

You may also find out that there are 7 generators on every map, but the survivors only have to complete five of them. You might think it's a good idea to play defensively in the area of the three closest generators, and let the other four go. That's bad. Very bad! That's gen camping, and it doesn't allow the survivors to complete their objectives, so you shouldn't do that.

Speaking of camping, you'll find out pretty quick that camping someone on the hook is something only people who should kill themselves do. Instead, as soon as you put someone on the hook, you should cross to the other end of the map. Don't worry if there aren't any survivors or generators there, it's what the best players do. That gives other survivors the chance to pull their teammate off the hook.

At that point, it's okay to return to the area, given you take your time getting there, but if you find the same survivor who was just pulled off the hook, it is not okay to hit them again. Ever. That's called tunneling, and only players who live in their mom's basement and have never had sex do that. Even if they're the only survivor you can find, even if they are the only injured survivor and hitting them would seem to make tactical sense, it isn't okay.

It won't take long before you notice strange twitches among other players too. They have a medical condition which causes them to repeatedly hit their crouch key. You'll hear some people call this teabagging, a sexual term derived from a man squatting over a someone and dipping his testicles into their mouth, like you might dip a teabag into a mug. That isn't at all what the survivor is imitating, and they certainly aren't trying to insult you: it's a nervous twitch. It would be very wrong for you to take it as an insult and punish them for it in the match.

Also, flashlights are a survivor's only defense from you! Yes, it's annoying, but it isn't like they begin the match with all the momentum, or have pallets, windows, loops, med kits, perks or anything else to defend themselves with. If a survivor moves in front of you with a flashlight, you should stand still and let them flashlight you. Never face a wall, and never bring Franklin's Demise with you into the match! It isn't fair!

    After the Match

If you do very well during the match, and kill all four survivors, especially if you do it quickly, never use the acronym "gg," or "good game." It isn't nice to compliment people when they lose. Instead, inform the other players that you'll be putting your head in the oven, since you obviously hacked and cheated during the game.

I hope you've enjoyed these tips to making your Dead by Daylight experience more enjoyable for everyone! Except you. Oh, that's the last rule: the killer is always wrong and isn't supposed to have fun. ENJOY!

Best post Ive ever read in this forum!
