How will you explain your way out of this? Not only is the blight serum bad on many of the killers, its also not usable after the event, while the survivor items are kept until used.

Survivor sided lol.
27 posts. sigh..
Ok lets break it down.
Flashlight? lawl seriously? its 8 seconds and mostly for show.
Serum... One time use sprint burst that gives you a bright trail to follow.. requires you to be injured too.
Meanwhile.. put Blighted Rush on Billy or bubba. There's no cooldown needed to start your power after coming out of it. Hook survivors and keep it going... that's not one time use, thats trial wide. Deserves to be event only like the offerings. This is probably the closest thing to having balance in the game the dev has done in a while and you're complaining. Yikes.

that's how most places work, follow the rules or be removed. that's not exactly a novel concept.
removing spammers who constantly repost the same topics isn't the same as someone calling out the developer for doing something bad/shady/greedy and them silencing them for it.

Some of you act like these guys are malevolent. Here's a life tip: you do not need a video game (any video game). If you think the devs are incompetent, lazy, greedy, etc. then why would you still support them? Why are you on the forums every day? Talk about first world problems.
If Bhvr created a vaccine for COVID 19 and charged hundreds of dollars for it then I'd be with you calling them out. But they are selling a product that nobody will ever need. They have a game where, after purchasing it for $10-20, you don't have to spend one more dime on it and you can play it for thousands of hours. There are plenty of free cosmetics, every can play against every killer on every map, plenty of cosmetics and characters that you can earn with in game currency, and every single perk is eventually in the shrine.
Complaining about balance is one thing. I get there will be disagreements there. But being pissy because the big meanie developer doesn't give you enough free stuff you don't need? Grow up. Self reflect on your entitlement and find something in life that is actually worth this kind of "passion."
dude you just went on a rant off topic. thats threadjacking bro lmao. Yeah some of the folks here are being toxic to the devs. This isnt the case. This is an actual plausible thing that could happen and within a year. If BHVR gets an actual competitor for a game. They're going to sink.
Stop supporting? I already supported them since ive bought almost all the DLC, ive also bought multiple copies of the game to support the dev(given away on steamgifts). Look here. Yes this isn't a "necessary product". That is not the point but Neither is an iphone. But, If i bought stock in BHVR, I would be pissed off at the direction they're going. My opinion of BHVR has changed over time. Slowly downhill before a sharp drop and now its stabilizing a bit. so for me, Buying DLC is like buying stock I can't sell back.
"Eventually perks end up on the shrine".... Yeah, no. there are perks that have yet to ever come onto the shrine. Seriously? Inner Strength is a great example. It has never and is a widely wanted perk for locker builds. Locked behind real money. Released over a year ago. "but it eventually.." No they don't. They aren't random. They're picked by BHVR.
I'm entitled to an answer for their decisions. I dont care to get anything "free". Since most everything free cosmetic wise looks bad. So i'm not worried about it. I'm entitled to an answer about the direction they're taking their game since i've invested my actual money into it. This is not a game like Warframe that is a free, that i don't have to worry about spending money on in the event the dev takes a dive or just trashes the whole game. Especially now that they are on this buy "everything with real money kick". But i'm one of those people it doesnt effect but I also completely understand anyone and everyone's rant about them being greedy.
Realistically yes you can play for thousands of hours with the base game. Steam charts say different. Users average just 154 hours total play time on Steam before they stop playing. 154 hours isn't even long enough to unlock even half the survivors perks or the killers perks. Why is it so low if since everything is eventually free? Because its not and people eventually see that. They listen to the Fog Whisperers they're making mad. I hear it on every single one of their stream at least once down talking the dev because of their inability to fix bugs having lasted years. I would know. I've been bitching about getting perma stuck in scenery since 2016, and i have video reports up until last year when I finally gave up trying to report bugs. Since they don't hardly ever listen.
-
Greed.
Perks locked behind real money, thinking dolly dress up is end game, giving cheap QOL fixes instead of addressing issues that have persisted for years...
BHVR. This is not a free game. You guys are being really greedy and not using your resources properly. Make the base game free if you're going to end up looking like Train Simulator 2020 with 1900$ worth of DLCs. I mean jesus mary and joseph its getting ridiculous.
If they get even 1 decent competitor, the game is going to take a dive into an empty pool and probably wont recover.

First of all how does every survivor get on the ground? Are you around the killer when he downs someone? If you get slugged frequently (You make it seem like you do) just bring unbreakable. There's easy ways to counter these slugging killers. Yeah I get it you won't be able to use it 90% of the time but it's just a second chance perk meant for these types of situations
Yeah but unbreakable is single use... No Mither is for memes. i would post game examples but i dont edit my footage so it would just get taken down by mods bc i dont censor names.
Its not the frequent slugging. Its the toxic slugging, where the entire purpose is to troll and let all 4 players bleed out. Even happening once a month is too often. Because then survivors have to deal with so many other gamebreaking bugs that actually are in favor of the killer. The only thing the killer can really cry about is SWF, which is actually a fair complaint when its a competent 4man.
Its the dev not punishing the actual abusers. huehue i got camped. Don't care. Don't even care if i get tunneled. Its the unavoidable glitches in the game, sandbagging teammates etc. People have a habit of DCing outside of wildly toxic/broken game situations because they're extremely pessimistic and if they aren't earning something for their time, they're going to leave the game by their own terms.

Yes they can tell when someone clicks "LEAVE MATCH" that is a metric they have access to, what they can't tell is if someone pulls their ethernet cable or turns off their router or does something on their computer to disconnect intentionally. that is why they are not letting any dc's slide since it was so rampant, just like you said, you're going to DC anytime you feel like you don't like how someone else plays. why play this game then? just play a different game if that's your outlook. the "hill bug" you talk about was fixed two months ago maybe three and hasn't had an issue since. You claim the game is written as spaghetti code.... do you even have proof of this or do you just claim it is so thinking people will agree with you? Do you even have the programming background to recognize it if you even saw the actual coding of the game.... Please let me know where you got the actual programming code for this game I'm sure the devs want to know this as well. This isn't a ranked game, so why play it if others are hellbent on making it unfun for you and making you DC? I'm hell bent on maintaining the rules. if i'm playing with others I follow the rules, you should too. If you break the rules you should be penalized. this is not a different concept than playing a role playing game where you go in and get the party killed intenetionally, the party will just tell you not come to the next session because you made the game unfun for them (breaking the rules of the group which you agreed to abide by when you agreed to play).
Don't take any of this the wrong way, because i can tell youre a fan of DBD. I am too. I have over 2k hours as a casual player. So, lets get started.
If they could tell when you clicked leave match, versus the game crashing then you wouldn't get an escalating penalty. Stop believing everything BHVR says about transparency. Look at their MMR. DCing isn't always what happens when someone disconnects. Hell, even if i have no security software running, the EAC will randomly crash, crashing the game(more so if i have my firewall running. It tends to conflict so i disable it). None of it is trackable atm by the dev. If it was, I wouldn't get a ban for an EAC Security Violation, Steam having a hiccup and having to reboot their servers, or general game crashes(esp since i -always- send a report when i'm given the option).
What are you going on about people breaking the rules? I'm pissed people are so toxic and can't just play the game. I cannot tell if youre being a sarcastic ass or youre confused. I DC when people start 4man slugging, teleporting/warping, have a 10m hitbox, I lag so hard i get stuck in place and the killer can still move, or they start hacking(again, like above, i dont post video proof on the forums bc i dont doctor my footage to edit names. screw that, abusers should be shamed but its not my forum).
Me? A programmer? Not currently. What does that have to do with anything? You don't even understand code in the first place. "where'd you get their code" lel.... Dude i'm probably 2-3x your age. In 2002 i tried to clone and remake Seventh Cross on my old ass Packard Bell PC with an experimental dreamcast emulator my brother made(who has since worked for places like Shutterfly, etc). I actually did a fairly decent job but i never could finish the game because it was difficult to test. And I was just one teenager doing that. They have a whole team. Everyone and their mother technically already has the code.. Seriously? lol..... I don't need BHVR's code to know its spaghetti code. I don't need to read reddit posts. I don't need to come here to have a look see. I've been playing this game since late 2016. There is ######### wrong and BHVR is in denial when they say "pretty good job so far". Thats a meme for a reason.
While the game is actually in a fairly decent spot, they honestly need to have an entire chapter dedicated to game fixes and QOL improvements that isn't nerfing something the killer or survivors find fun. Some examples:
Better EAC: I find games with people using cheats. Why am i staying in these games besides catching some footage, DCing then reporting? I don't really want to run the risk of staying in the game and getting banned because we were on the same team. I've had more stupid crap happen playing an online MP game that wasn't technically an Indie dev. Hell, ive seen games with less bugs when I played Mechwarrior on Mplayer in the mid 90s.
Map Revamp: Go through every map and iron the code layout to fix broken parts of the map that cause people to get infinitely stuck in place(this has been an issue for me since 2018), remove double pallet spawns(its happening, again), and force the spawn of the hatch and gates to not be 3 freaking feet away from each other in 90% of games.
Better Reporting: Currently we have to have video(not screen capture) proof of all reports that are... how the dev says "bad enough to warrant reporting"... but its an extremely annoying process. Because you have to upload it to youtube, and send the link. If you don't have good internet, and the video is more than 30 seconds long.. you're gonna be there a while. So this interrupts playing the game in general.
Actual Beta Testing: This slays the ######### out of me that they release the PTB, but most games are just people memeing, harder than on live servers. So i don't feel like the dev gets much actual feedback. They have more than enough testing players and Fog Whisperers that they could have a pre-PTB. Give an extra week for the first team, then give the PTB to the public and let them break it. Having multiple testing phases on a game that you have to ADD CODE TO(you see what i did there? Because you dont understand how DLC works, sir) would help them identify what theyre adding to the game thats breaking other stuff.
In closing: Games with mass amounts of DLC tends to be ..... spaghetti code... Just some spaghetti tastes and looks so much better than others.
-
Yup. I'm going to keep DCing when mfs play like #########. There is no reason I should stay in a game where the killer is literally refusing to hook survivors and letting them bleedout. "Just do gens" lel how do you do gens when all 4 players are on the ground and unable to do anything? I just literally took a 2 month break from the game and my 2nd game back is a slugging trapper who just afks after everyone got downed. Meanwhile I need unhooks for the rift? Yeah i'm definitely not staying when not only can i not earn points, but i cannot even attempt my challenge. There is a difference between DCing due to being salty and due to other players being toxic. I didn't buy the game to deal with other players farming me. I could even see if i was in a SWF. But i'm not. I'm not DCing bc i got downed first. I'm DCing because of BS someone else is causing. Also, farming with the killer isn't technically playing by the devs "rules", so why should i be punished for leaving that game when I want to -play- the game, not just boringly get free points?
Then you have gamebreaking bugs. Like with the stuck in place bugs still in the game, long before the hill bug was a thing... meanwhile they have YET to fix any of them. I was watching Pupper's stream like a week ago and queen literally said in chat "stay away from the hill". lol what???? So, play the game as is, or get a DC penalty because the developer cannot do much outside of bandaid fixes and every new DLC is spaghetti code piled on top of existing problems. The DC penalty should not exist until all of these major issues are fixed. This is not a ranked style game. Yall are so hell bent on punishing players when the dev needs to just plain fix the problems.

The game knows if you hit leave game vs just vanishing I am sure.
You give BHVR way too much credit. They cannot tell. That would be way too easy. I got a security violation in my last game and it still gave me the DC penalty.

Ima be completely honest here and say this perk is really good but only in the hands of someone experienced with a certain type of play style.
I have a friend whos rank 1 with me who runs soul guard, DS, unbreakabill, and tenacity and when i tell you this man pulls off a soul guard save every game almost.
If someone is on death hook he will go for the save and if he goes down he will crawl under the person whos hooked and if you do it right the killer cant pick you up.
He then will pick himself up with unbreakable and get the save and he usually gets away because of soul guard.
Doesnt always work but when it does its nice to see a plan come to work before your eyes and some times it doesnt and then he waste his unbreakable for nothing.
Fun times
Being unable to pick up a survivor by the hook is an exploitation bug and if reported, your pal might catch a Ban Hammer if they repeatedly get reported and someone vid-caps the exploit.
But, TBH... Remove the locker tech from DS and red ranks will stop using it lol. That's the only time I really ever get D-striked. I also don't tunnel or slug(unless its a must). So i've auto countered BT/DS/Unbreakabill just on my play style alone. This is at high ranks too. I also don't mind only getting 1-2k, while netting over 25k. I feel like folks strive way too hard to get a 4k, thus promotes the continuously toxic cycle(no i don't think survivors are entitled to survive. I just don't wanna be tunneled/camped with 5 gens remaining).
As a survivor main, I rarely run 2nd chance perks unless I have a chase challenge(then i'll use DS) or if i have an Unhook challenge, i'll bring BT along. Otherwise, my stealth build nets me a minimum of 17-19k per game. 25k+ if given too many opportunities. Hell, I still stand firm that no survivor should be forced to get into a chase with the killer just to earn BP(If i can get 2-3 unhooks, 3-4 gens done, how's it my fault the killer sucks? Nah fam). Yall make me want to post my killer perk suggestions.
-
The grind is why I don't have friends to play with anymore as survivor. You can't exactly earn BPs playing killer with friends. So its either you SWF to have some fun, or you play as Killer to grind BPs, since you can 0k and get 25k easily. Ranking up doesn't mean jack and hasn't meant jack in years.
@aregularplayer said:
I would never start playing this game at current stage. I started playing it 2 years ago and I still don't have all perks on all my killers. It's ridiculous. 1400 hours, btw...
2.4k and i still don't have all the perks either. Been playing since December of 2016..
-
Between the MMR pairing with lackluster people and the rift challenges like "be within 10m of the killer for 60s in a single trial" bs ... i feel like they are really killing the game. Too many crap games before a half decent game.
So many content streamers are quitting and/or no longer posting current content... I really don't care about the steam charts stats since BHVR holds the world record for most sales in a year(being sarcastic but not at the same time). All their data is skewed and their priorities on things are just as sideways.
Every game is a meme for me since the dev's head is in the dirt. Being toxic to teammates post game is even more frequent since red ranks take everything WAY too seriously.
-
I had to stop caring about the outcome of the match. The constant pairing of bad matches has made the game completely unfun. This isn't a case of being burnt out. Playing solo is utterly pointless. 1 in 10 games is slightly fun. And no, Fun =/= Surviving. One hook deaths, eternal slugging, being farmed and tunneled, people DCing constantly(this was an issue with the penalty as well, it didn't deter anyone at all). Then you have brand new players doing incredibly dumb things, typically suiciding first hook.
The new system is a dumpster fire that they claimed they had been gathering data for weeks with prior to implementing. So, since i'm out of Rift challenges, there's not much point in playing at the moment until the next part of the tome opens or if i have a daily. Its not really worth the headache.

The game is 100% survivor sides. It always has been from day one. Even moreso during it's early days. This is coming from a survivor main who also is a rank 1 killer. There's nothing wrong with that. To think anything else though is just lunacy.
So being able to instadown and mori survivors without hooking them(original ebony) was survivor sided? lawl. You speak of lunacy....
2-3m SWF teams bullying not only the killer, but solo players as well. You have no clue how often i've been the target of a toxic SWF as a solo player over the years. It's a daily occurrence. Then you have stupid survivors, who block you into corners trying to heal you. So stupid ######### like the Spirit phasing through the other player healing you and downing you because you can't move.
Totes survivor sided.

If you find it natural to DC, I would say you are the type of survivors that feeds campers. Would be way better when killers like that get boring games, stare at their one victim and get genrushed in the meantime, so they got nothing to do and don't even feel like a win with their single kill. Just my opinion.
And campers don't need a basement, they camp on every hook. I wouldn't say remove the basement because of that, you would need to remove any hook. In "normal" games the basement is what others said already: thrilling and risky but also strong region of the map to loop. Pros and Cons. Can be rewarding, can be punishing for both sides. That's my experience. I wouldn't remove that from the game because of a problem that wouldn't be fixed by removing the basement.
And as I said, it is only Bubba that is capable to put a wall into the basement. I have seen enough escapes and plays, also did some myself, to get around basement hooking. Not sure what your experience is, mine is that the basement is fair enough. Btw this is also from survivor AND killer view, just in case you think I'm killer sided. Also had enough great plays against me, even against basement killers like MYC Demo, Hag or Trapper. Same with Trapper games where 2 traps in the shack were sufficient to end the game with a single basement hook, because both traps worked and the team messed up. It is fair in both directions, offers funny and legendary plays and everyone can win.
If your opinion is different, I don't know how to convince you rather than looking streams or youtube. I really don't think the basement is a deadzone. It is risky but team play is always possible to get people out of the basement. If you disagree, you simply have different experience than me. But I think there are enough voices that support my opinion. Sure it is difficult, but not braindead ez for the killer
Since i don't SWF, i dont venture into the basement unless it was previously empty. I feel like the basement is fair though. High risk, high reward. Hate to say it but if my teammate gets basemented by any killer let alone Bubba... there's a 95% chance i'm not going down there, since i tend to get left to die in the basement VERY often... they best hope i dont have a challenge that requires me to survive. Cuz then it drops to 0% lol.
The basement was technically(imo) designed as a kill funnel. "Don't go in the basement"- quoted from 100s of Horror Movies. I suggest to new players: identify the basement area immediately and avoid it. If you can catch the killer doing a pass early, jump on the gen closest to it and create a dead zone for the killer there, as most killers won't camp an area unless their hex is present.
I do agree that being able to Moonsaw™ up the stairs and negate BT is an overlooked bug, since Bubba is the only one who can do it. People's view of fun is a skewed, icy slope. So since I don't normally camp or tunnel as a killer and typically end up with 2-4 kills, i really don't see the problem with the basement. Though, Bubba is legit a basement dweller. I actually really like it when I run into an Insidious Bubba. They're so rare, and its not your typical face camp. Removing the basement would actually hinder my gameplay a bit as survivor, since i like to use the stairs to hide..
-
If i had a dollar for every unbalanced suggested perk, i'd have a lot of money... Remember me doesn't lock the gates. Blood Warden does.
You want Blood Warden, NOED, 3x Bitter Murmur/Multi Rancor in one perk. Bruh lol
-
Better set for a new game. Introducing a new system like this would require recoding of existing perks.
And if you know anything about Dead By Daylights code, you'd need to understand that less is more. The more they code, the more they break.
This is not balanced in the slightest. Solo players will have an even harder time playing due to how killers move.
Personally, I don't find myself in many chases. So, this wouldn't hardly effect me because I have a stealthier approach(no i dont use urban :P). The game already isn't much fun outside of playing in a SWF. This, I feel, would put the nail in the coffin.

I agree, and I think it is common knowledge. What isn't common knowledge is the sheer amount of reasons as to why, and that it's not just down to certain game events, moreover many internal and external causes.
All the more reason for people to just be a little more humble in victory or defeat: Inspite of how the round went, the opponent may be having a far worse day, and not for the reasons solely related to the game.
That's my exact notion going into a game... but we are asking the community to equip Empathy, which is a tall order to fill lmao
-
@Vox_Nocturne said:
Also it's very much to do with how the brain is more likely to remember bad memories than good ones, because the emotions involved feel stronger, probably to aid as a warning not to mess up again.
In terms of the game a Killer is reliant only on themselves. The stress is certainly stronger. With Survivors, there are 4 of them, and thus more ways to "share" the feeling, or at least blame someone else. I'm sure there are both Killers and Survivors out there who take onboard and own their errors and use them to get better. However, this won't change the fact that a Killer has nobody else to turn to.
So many factors, but taking this into account certainly helps with the explanation.
I was actually about to reply something similar. The game has too many competitive chunks while being in no way competitive(due to ranking/mmr being a landfill on top of player skills/intentions/mood). Then, like @slunder stated, SWF/Solos vs Killers actually matters a lot. But I honestly thought it was common knowledge that playing killer will always be more stressful, which is why point cap potential is so high for them.

@Makinno said:
I think a great addition to the core gameplay around lockers would be to let Killers choose whether to pick up or down survivors that are found in lockers.
The rundown would be like this:
- Killer finds survivor in locker
- Killer enters a staring competition with survivor while the player chooses what to do.
- Killer can either M1 to down the survivor or press Space to pick them up.
This could greatly counter DS survivors running into lockers to force the addon activating.
This could also buff Save the best for last so killers can gain free stacks.
Hide at your own demise.
This isn't any type of "locker control". You basically want to avoid DS so you can tunnel people who go into lockers, without consequence. Yet, you want lockers to be useless(as per your reply above). You need to git gud, as the saying goes. No disrespect, but you don't know how to properly play killer. There's much worse than DS to be weary of when versing survivors at any rank.
How to counter DS 101:
-Don't tunnel. If you have to hook return, go for the other player. Feel free to slug the farmed player.
-Don't locker grab recently unhooked survivors. If they duck into a locker, go pressure gens. Waiting is stupid and the odds are high if you wait you're gonna catch a headon.
-Pick up the survivor next to a ledge. If they DS you, they'll fall and unless they have BL, they are going to stagger and be easy to down. More points for you.
-Bait it yourself. Intentionally tunnel someone you think has DS. Oh well you got stunned. The perk is now wasted.
-Run Deerstalker and have a stop watch handy, or use your phone's clock's stopwatch. I used to do this a couple of years ago.
Borrowed Time is honestly harder to play around than DS is. Killer's are just tunnel happy and greedy, then cry about getting gen rushed when they dont pressure gens. Meanwhile, match making has made playing killer a joke. I have to meme in most games to earn any points, since everyone i'm facing typically has 1/200 my time played.
Instead, just deactivate DS when you perform specific actions. You just saved about 500h+ of coding for an option that would have been broken from the get go with what you suggested, since it seems you'd want some sort of "make a choice" sequence. It would also be too much coding when you could just remove the locker tech associated with DS. Due to your post count, i assume you're a new player. This entire game is layered spaghetti code. I couldn't imagine what would break if they coded this.
Also, if players weren't toxic we wouldn't need things like DS. But since the majority of players play a specific way(ie: Camping with Hag), we have to have 2nd chance perks. Else the game would just die because the majority of the pbase would quit due to one sided games and having no way to turn the tide of a game if it snowballs hard. Camping, slugging and tunneling is a strat. So is looping, genrushing and stun baiting. There are perks to counter all of them.
-
Did some streamer watching. you know. the folks who win a LOT.
Yeah, why are they as survivors getting donkey killers, and then when playing killers, the ranks are always flipped and its a dumpster fire? lol

@Mandy said:
Because they don't know what's necessarily reducing or increasing their MMR...that's the whole thing behind keeping the conditions hidden.
It makes it much harder to "cheese the mmr" if you don't know exactly what the conditions are.
There's no balance in sight. Hide the conditions all you want... but even your fog whisperers are neglecting to post content because of the current state of the MMR. Yall were supposed to have a system setup to collect data? what happened to that? You're telling me, a fog whisperer with 8k hours should be constantly getting low rank/newbie killers all the time? Cmon.
I'm sick of getting games where everyone's standing around. I'm sick of getting games where its a low rank killer with barely any perks. The only thing I feel is "cheesy" here is the system.
-
@BeHasU said:
Just play more games, everyone started with the same mmr, you have to play more games til you achieve a higher mmr so you will play with high mmr players. Imagine playing LoL, if you are insanely good, but havent played in a year, you will play with silver players, even though you are playing like a master.
Everyone didn't start at the same MMR. Somebody lied to you if they told you otherwise or you assumed. BHVR claims they had a data collection system in place for the last several weeks to ensure the system wasn't going to be like this.
This type of thing is actually expected ever since they started dedicated servers.
-
SWF is typically the only way to casually have fun, as playing solo is already difficult(now MMR has made the game a complete joke). Removing it damages the game and there is no way to balance around comms, period. No one has ever come up with a suitable idea that doesn't in turn nuke solo players completely.

I don't wanna feel bad for bullying people that have 1/300 of my experience and i think that most players don't have a lot of common sense and probably enjoy bullying new players which will probably leave the game and i can't blame them.
Until its fixed, this is why i'm just farming. I can't take the game seriously, because I didn't sign up to faceroll newbies.

yeah well said, my experience has floored, it's utterly miserable now, but i'm entitled for asking for any better aren't i, doesn't matter that i've supported the devs as much as i can, i'm just.... entitled
In my case, to be fair, the game has almost completely changed since i purchased the game 4 years ago.
My experience is also floored. I cannot take a single game seriously, as post games show laughable ranks and hours in comparison regardless of the role i play. I'm just farming for BP at this point after reading they said they got a positive response from the last update.

E N T I T L E M E N T
But now, seriously... Do you really think that spending (let's guess pretty high) 200 bucks on a game is enough to demand anything?
You are not their boss. You don't pay their wages. You bought a license to play the game they develop, that's it.
The simple idea that if you paid to play the game, you have this kind of position above the developers and the rest of the staff reflects pretty much why good part of this community is toxic as #########.
Then until they fix their game, expect more bugs ontop of old existing bugs. Expect even more DCing because people don't want to play bullshit. Yes. We are an entitled community. Wanting answers for changes that no body in their right mind wanted, was a mistake, and still haven't fixed the problems.

"Play the best you can"
I personally don't think there's an actual system. lol

"why is the community so mad"

No, just the same one as before. LMAO
so wait... they removed it, updated the game, added it back, then promptly removed it again because they didn't fix the issue before?
HA

When they fix their game first and its not jumbled spaghetti code, sure. Until then, no.

Seems so. I assume they found another issue.

Tbh, the rift, as survivor makes you play sub-optimally anyway. "hide for 60 seconds within 10m of the killer without being spotted in a single trial" lel yeah no thanks.
Just had a game with a 3man swf that tried to get me killed because i wouldn't immediately hook rush, while none of them were doing gens. I had the most pts the whole game and i escaped.
I will save if its convenient and i'm not going to get one shot. Or if i use spine chill and when i go to unhook, it would end in a farm/tunnel/insta down. I mean, if you're injured and im in the area to take a hit, sure. But i'm in this to get points, not die 10 seconds into the game bc folks wanna run around and be stupid lol
-
I don't personally care about rank. You do? Ok. I still don't and honestly nobody should because of the state of matchmaking.
No body should be caring about rank except to get the achievement.
There's quite a few reasons to legit DC.
-
I look at profiles. if they're low hour, i'll play myers t1 build and have fun lol

i understand their intent wasn't to completely change them, but why are they STILL the way they are..?

I never said balance the game around "bully-SWF" who play the game up to 10 hours a day (that's what the SWF team does that I mentioned judging by the length of their saved streams). Maybe they lose some games but all matches I've personally watched so far ended exactly the same way. 4 people bullying 1 killer who gave up and either went afk (including a rank 2 Oni) or straight up disconnected. That's why I said they "pretty much" never lose and not "they never lose" - because I obviously don't know ALL their matches. I'm certainly not gonna watch 10 hours of one-sided SWF gameplay.
Anyways as for balance I think DBD is "ok" at this moment so my proposal is to just keep everything the way it is for the most part. Optimal solo survivors and SWF beat most killers and most killers beat suboptimal solo survivors (and sometimes even overly altruistic SWF). That seems reasonably fair although some aspects obviously need to be looked at on both sides.
Moris (as offerings) for instance are extremely outdated. No one wants to get moried off hook and give the killer an easy 4k so the devs need to come up with a fair and smart way to implement/keep them as they're fun to use and cool to see so straight up removing them would be a huge waste.
my problem is more that SWF has an advantage that neither the killer nor solo player has, outside of (completely broken lmao) auras.
Mori's should always be conditional. How I both like and dislike PH's Mori after the 2ndhook. He can not cage you the whole game, thus giving you zero way to remove his ability. So you're mori bait no matter what you do unless you suicide on hook or DC. Like in the last game i was just in before i posted this, he slugged all 4 survivors and mori'd them one by one. I'm ok with not surviving. i'm not ok with sitting around doing nothing due to "strats" and mechanics. the only retort is "take unbreakable or no mither". I'd rather take the DC penalty, especially if i'm found first due to teammates with bond, hooked, farmed and tunneled.. which is most of the solo experience. I shouldn't have to meta every single 2nd chance perk.
Then you have players (like a certain cs go dev who got mad bc i stunned PH with a god pallet) who get mad at the game for no reason because they die, or don't get 4k. The game is taken both too seriously and not seriously enough. Again, a community issue.
Edit:
Matter-Of-Fact:
I want to see my own personal stats on perks/characters/survival rate i use. This could be easily done and why it hasn't, i have no idea.

@Yamaoka said:
You know it's funny there's that toxic 4 man team who streams almost everyday. You know how often they die? Pretty much NEVER. 4 man escape almost every single match. Let me guess: All killers are just bad right?
They make almost every killer give up and stand still while they keep tbagging and clicking their flashlights. They usually even stop repairing the 5th gen at 99% so they can make fun of the killer for another few minutes since that forces the killer to stay in the game.
Yet here you are pretending that killers are overpowered.
Let me guess:
"yOu CaNt BaLaNcE aRoUnD SWF sUrViVoRs WhO kNoW wHaT tHeY'rE dOiNg BeCaUsE kiLLeRs WoUlD wiN eVErY mAtCh AgAiNsT sOlOs".
Which basically means killers are only allowed to win against potatoes that go down in 10 seconds and drop god pallets AFTER getting hit.
Then whats your proposal? There's a huge chunk of the pbase that actually IS solo.
Combined with (still)broken match making, being paired with bad/new teammates is still an issue. So yeah, you can't balance around JUST SWF. Which is why they need to fix the damn system thats been broken since Day 1.
You can take out SWF, but.. they lose a gash of the pbase. Takes away the fun of playing with a friend or 2 or 3. Not every SWF is a 4man no mither sabo squad. Then they'd lose a TON of advertising for the game through streamers, who like you said, SWF all the time. However, saying they never lose though, is an ugly lie. Sorry. I watch streamers who "win" more than half their games. I rarely see anyone with this argument that has a counter argument on what to do and typically gets the response of "its not my job".
I personally, play like a potato when playing either side on purpose because the game is just a meme with the way bandaid fixes, QOL changes, Challenges, nerfs etc are implemented. Like how they want to MMR Killers, but dunked their skill ceiling with recent killer "changes".
Folks tend to use the word Overpowered when they mean Strong. Especially, versus players who aren't/can't communicate. VS SWF it will always be harder. Just like how playing solo will always be harder.
-
2nd chance perks for survivors counter toxic play styles by killers such as camping and tunneling. Unbreakable is for killers who think they're going to be greedy and slug for the 4k, or just start slugging to be toxic(which is quite often).
I personally don't run 2nd chance perks. Since I play solo, i'm at a severe disadvantage.
If you're going to tunnel, do it early and get DS/Deliverance out of the way. Every 2nd chance perk is easily countered. NOED requires everyone to break totems, or a majority of them. Since they don't, NOED is a "problem". Not for me tho. I'm breaking everything and leaving dumbasses on the ground while i exit. NOED will never be my fault personally.
So until the community stops being little weasels, suck it up or play something else tbh.
-
if you want to prevent someone from unhooking.. just shock them... if you stop unhooking you must stop all actions, including mending and throwing pallets. This would make Doc even more annoying and OP. I love doc, so this change would make him the target of future nerfs that would more than likely kill the majority of usage. His shock takes mind games and strat.

@SirBDog said:
So I use blood hex and no one escapes death, and something I like to do is when all or most of the survivors are in the exit gate, I'll stand right outside
Once they step close to me I'm able to one shot them and bring them to a hook, closing the exit gates, then going back and killing whoever is left taunting at the exit gate
I like to use pig, so I can crouch in the exit gate, then ambush once they arrive. I'm just wondering if this would be considered a "cheap move" like hook camping
Not really cheap persay. Just another strat. Though, i've never encountered it as a surv, due to the fact I don't teabag in the exit gate. I leave. At least you aren't slugging or camping when gens are still need to be done. I've never been mad at NOED, I get mad at other players. i make it a point to find and break a minimum of 2 totems per game, so everyone else not doing bones... NOED is on them. Since I play solo, at that point idc if everyone else dies, i'll take the hatch lol.
To spice things up, you should let them do the last gen, wait 20 seconds at the gate then open it and go stealth. Just don't angle your POV towards the gate so spinechill users don't get tipped off. Typically i find people will cross over to the other gate looking for chests and totems, which works about 60% of the time :)
Inf T3 Myers with Insidious can make people DC at the exit gate. Blinking with Nurse into the exit gate with NOED and waiting can be fun at lower levels.

Exactly. It's a decent possibility.
Right now this is what the difficulty of both sides looks like in a graph
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4QBPT9AZUTIN/current-difficulty-graph.jpg
When this is what most of us THINK we're hoping to achieve
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SPY4QRUT4OH0/ideal-difficulty-graph.jpg
But when you take into account that both sides have opposing objectives it seems less and less likely we'll ever get to that point.
How can both sides start out and progress along the same trajectory when they are in opposition to each other, objective wise?
You can't have both sides winning and losing in equal amounts across the time progression. In theory you would think you can if they're always being pitted against equally skilled opponents but this doesn't take into account where the current skill ceilings are for both survivor and killer.
Something has to be done to address the skill ceilings for both survivor and killer to make the second graph possible.
you didn't take into account SWF groups. IIRC the stats i previously read indicated solo players survived much less often than 2+ swf groups.
BECAUSE the 2nd graph is nearly impossible due to the community, I just tend to meme most games. I'll try until i'm tunneled, camped, or farmed... which is more than 3/4s of the games I play solo. Then it is what it is at that point.
-
Because against those 2 killers, NOED is an unexpected trap and i actually see it all the time. Which is why I do bones before gens. Sometimes even running inner str i'll take out several before even jumping on a gen bc mfs are sneaky.
-
Someone using Kindred actually screwed me. I couldn't see which way the killer was going. The aura update is really freaking bad. I don't know who thought this was a good idea. Not everyone sits with their face in the damn screen.
Bless any color blind people..
-
Solo play should be rewarded more tbh. It's not only playing the game as it was meant to be, but its also a whole lot harder. Most games, playing solo isn't rewarding at all.
First hook deaths, Farming Hook Divers, Suicides, DCs, etc will always be more of a cancer to solo players. That's just dealing with other survivors. Then you have the "Gilded Strategies" Killer's use. That's pretty much all the solo experience is. One good game within 40 bad ones. That shouldn't be a thing.
Some Survivor Perks should grant an additional buff if you're alone but not so much its game breaking, while some killer perks should be buffed when facing a SWF. Buffing every killer's base will ruin the game for solo players and new players alike. BP Earnings for solo players needs to be buffed as well.
If the killer face camps/tunnels, theres a vague opportunity to earn points beyond Objective. I don't care if i die every single game I play, but the community is too toxic to be given anything nice.. So its going to remain unbalanced.

Wrong on both points I'm afraid. We do have a team of ACM's that deal with the reports and actively ban players, if reports have been made.
@Sunbreaker7 I understand the issue with regards to reporting and I've moved this to the Feedback section in view of that.
maybe so, but the process of reporting a player is by all means the worst i have ever seen. Rarely do my youtube videos that i put in reports ever get seen, if so, its my own unique view. Literally, an invincible speed hacking player the killer couldn't down. So it honestly feels like to the part of the community that actually reports, nothing is being done and if anything not much at all.
There needs to be a feature that allows us to copy our ID from the game, unless you're like me and have enough legit reasons to report, have saved it to a notepad. Especially due to the flaw in the game that allowed another player to put bans on a streamer..
-
As a solo player, 70% of my games involve me doing all the gens because a player is being camped or tunneled, or i'm the one being camped or tunneled.
Ive had 4 games today where I was attached to all 5 gens because of a camper. What else am i supposed to do? go hook dive and die? I've literally been saying this for almost 4 years now. It just sucks that majority of suggestions are overlooked.

So no counter to sprint burst
No counter to Iron will
It's hard to not hit the one with BT when the one with BT bodyblocks you.
Again, it's not whataboutism. Killer powers aren't made to be countered. I don't see you complaining about Pig's power, or Plague's power. Those two powers are certainly not able to be countered, one relies on RNG and the other makes the killer stronger by giving them a ranged down.
No, you're complaining about killers that annoy you, you're being intellectually dishonest. This just shows that you're not interested in game balance.
...........
Stridor is a DIRECT counter to Iron Will. Always has been. IW is virtually pointless to run against any killer using that perk.
NOED counters Sprint Burst and Hope.
Also, Myers can be completely neutered from ever using his powers again if the Survivors can kite him around and force him to tier up on everyone, eventually running out of his ability to use his powers and he becomes a BS M1 killer.
Plague makes it virtually impossible to earn anything in Benevolence. You can't heal against her unless she uses her M1 or super puke.

I agree with everything but DS activating when you're downed the last survivor because it would mean that all killers would have to slug and let the last survivor bleed out if they don't want to be DSed.
If the last survivor always has DS letting the last survivor bleedout becomes the objective best option which is terrible for both the survivor and the killer.
DS timer = 60s
Bleedout = 240s
That player also isn't guaranteed to have DS. Obsession or not.
If you slug someone to death because you fear DS, you are actually a really big problem with the game community wise. That's EXTREMELY toxic. In a LMS situation with DS, shut the hatch. Have a short chase. Game over. Nobody HAS to slug. Its ALWAYS an option. I found out the hard way when I would slug people, they almost always disconnected. I stopped. Rarely a DC unless it was a server took a dump or something else game-wise(i wouldn't be in a chase with them or actively carrying them to the hook).
Killer's being scared of DS is hilarious. Get it out of the way early and you won't have to worry about it. If they used it earlier in the trial, then you have nothing to fear. Hell I fear Broken(borrowed) Time over DS any day of the week unless i'm playing Bing Bong Boi or Mista Pipe.

Yeah his terror radius is scuffed but I'm focusing on his chase. Reaction time definitely hard when you got laggy killers who teleport and do things behind the server. Coding for p2p on cheap servers makes this work I agree too.
PH blinding is a you problem, I've been getting fl saves since day 1.
The last thing is mind boggling the counter is gen rush with a swf but then people moan about how those are unfair like make up your mind.
I can get FL saves on every other killer except PH. I have ZERO problems with any other killer. Even standing still I cannot find the spot to blind them. Its not a ME problem if more than just me is having the issue. This would make sense with lag, but if i can't be blinded as PH in KYF, there's a problem there. Like how bugs come and go. Not every game is going to have the same bugs(like every game i wont get stuck in the terrain and earn crows from being unable to move, but it happens frequently enough that its wildly frustrating and that game isn't worth playing IMO).
Problem is, even with a hardline of 600mbps I still get lag because a lot of people playing killer have trash internet or they're using a VPN. This affects everything. Even skillchecks, because when the game server lags it can cause FPS drops.
Also, don't say anything bad about the mods, even if you have proof and its 100000% true. if you send a report on them, BHVR doesn't care. You will get completely banned off the forums if you're unlucky lol It's a dictatorship here.
-
You forgot Deathslinger's completely bullshit terror radius. If he has M&A he's a better stealth killer than Ghostface. I don't really mind his ease of use if I could actually hear him coming like I can every other non-stealth killer.
I also cannot seem to blind Pyramind Head. I went into KYF with a buddy and neither one of us could find the spot to blind him. This was yesterday morning.
Reaction times are a thing of the past. Because of how crap the servers are, the hitboxes, VPNers(this is exploiting and the dev needs to punish people for using it to create lag and unfair games), and the fact the game is STILL CODED FOR P2P NOT SERVERS lol. This is why hitboxes are so completely jacked up outside of the fact that they got literally the cheapest servers on the market.
Everyone's argument against balancing them is "play swf" or "gen rush". Gen rushing is cancer, and every killer complains about it. Also, as a Survivor Main, SWF to me is cheating. It completely destroys any "immersion" for me when people want to talk on comms(then the mfs can't even have mic discipline... no i'm good on anymore frustration lol).
-
Deactivated upon entering a locker, being healed to full, starting gen repair, or any use of an item besides a medkit. Yes.
The progress of healing shouldn't deactivate it, at all. But a full heal should.
I don't feel like Breaking a totem should deactivate it due to Inner Strength. Don't limit combos, but remove the toxicity.
However, It should automatically activate if downed while being the last man standing(3 dead, no hooked/downed survivors).
The biggest complaint about DS is the locker tech associated with it by toxic players. Not necessarily the downing and picking up.
For Object... Banning perk usage is probably the STUPIDEST suggestion you could make. its nonconstructive, gives no room for debate, and makes you look like a newb.
You counter OoO by tunneling the ######### out of them. This, IMO, is the only time i'm going to immediately tunnel someone before anyone can even start a generator.
