Because we are being punished. After coming out of the 4 second stun a survivor can just never stop looping and running making our power useless. They don't have to mend if they run. I'm sorry if I hit them and continue chase they should eventually go down.

Is it going to be the same dull color as every other map now?

It gives points other than that no

I've noticed it. My biggest issue now is I'll have a survivor point blank and swing at them, they 360 or just turn, I miss, then suddenly they're nowhere in sight. It's a total mindf*ck and I don't know what happened. Doesn't happen EVERY time, but still a very noticeable amount and it never seemed to be an issue in my matches before
Had this happen. Survivor side stepped and disappeared. There was no grass or obstacles at the location just vanished. Happened 3 times.

I honestly prefer lithe so that I can run around. If I can't get to a window I'm in for hurt but I prefer the trade off to be able to run around.

I was on that stream of Paulie Ester's, no luck. That's the point of what i'm saying, even if some codes are cut off to help out you're still getting screwed on console. I've tried 15 times now. people have even posted codes in chat to copy/paste in store. it's bad. If they wanted to do giveaways that incentivize you tuning into a fog whisperer stream they should've did twitch drop boxes for the creators and if they wanted to give away free stuff in general it should've been a log in reward.
I tried 8 codes myself and I'm on pc and haven't gotten it. People have probably made bots to snag and use instantly as well. Not to mention the codes are like 400 characters long.
-
You honestly think adding diversity will stop toxic behavior? Are you knew to the internet?
-
Get over it. Sexuality means literally nothing in this game and none of the survivor lore is even interesting enough to start careing. You don't have to be represented everywhere and on all things. It doesn't diminish who you or anyone else in the community are just because you don't have a character with a back story that labels them to your choosing.
Just let it happen as it happens.

No one on console should own a keyboard just to redeem codes as fast as pc players. But i agree they should have made codes active for a limited time.
No they shouldn't have to. I just know that they can be used for typing and that it might would help. Most people have an old keyboard laying around these days.

He's talking about if you're playing as survivor, and the killer is AFK (no smacking and downing to be had). In this situation, two survivors team up to grief the other two survivors.
My mistake I completely misread that
-
@Uncharted said:
I've experienced similar situations both as killer and survivor. Thankfully none of them lasted as long as yours. With that being said, I can already see an issue with your suggested change.
Let's say I get matched with a two/three man SWF against an AFK Wraith. What's stopping them from splitting up on the exit gates and bodyblocking me from opening either of them just to grief and force a depip?
You can smack them and leave them on the ground or hook them if they did this. They can only block a few times.

Tim Taylor from Home Improvement. With the perk "more power" When working on a gen personal repair speed is 50% faster but there is a 50% chance every 10 seconds to explode the generator leaving it unrepairable for 1 minute.

25042 years were spent doing challenges, source: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1317548449764691968
Riddle time!
If you collect footage from players doing the challenges, and cut the footage so that it has the length of exactly 1 year, how many generators would you expect to see repaired in this footage?
We can get this by calculating the number of generators repaired per year.
Taking the values from above we get:
2272978 generators / 25042 years.
This gives us a value of 90.77 generators per year.
So the answer is, if you cut footage of players doing challenges and made the video one year long and watched all of it, you would expect to see 91 generators repaired.
So if it is only with challenge active then it would only be looking individual performance per match. Which would mean people with the challenge only did 1/5 of a gen (if we round up) per trial.
-
2272978÷(14348351×7)=2.26% of total gens finished. 3% if you only count 5 gens per match.
3% of total gens per match is 12 seconds repair time by one survivor no perk or toolbox.

When you have killers like DS who don't care about a survivors input nah there's no way to counter their abilities. All you can do is counter the killer by slamming gens. Is it fun? No. Is it rewarding and skillful? No. But that's just the way DbD is sometimes. I'd much rather be doing something different than going out of my to NOT interact with Deathslingers, Hags and spirits but hey it is what it is :/ at least killers like blight, Huntress, Demo and wraith still exist. Never bored against those guys unless it's iri head or compound 21
I don't understand why anyone thinks a killer should care about a survivors input.
They need to just add a chase simulator to the game so that survivors can run around against a killer and the killer isnt allowed to hit them. Just chase them the whole time so they can have the game they actually want.

The problem with that meant held he is acting like every time someone says they're being tunneled it's genuine.
I have had people call me out for tunneling simply because I didn't ignore them as pig when they had a reverse bear trap on their head. ( keep in mind I had hooked two other people before going after them)
If you ever want tunneling to be fixed as a lot of people complain about you need to come up with a genuine consensus on what tunnelling is because 90% of the survivor community can't agree on it.
You could hook one let them be unhooked then get 12 9 hooks on all 3 other players before final hook on the original person and they will say you tunneled.

Not to sound condescending, but if you only have 100 hours in the game, I think you need to be more experienced in the game until you can make broad statements like "Gens get rushed every game".
Also you shouldn't be blindly name dropping streamers. They do have valid points, but if the game were really as imbalanced as you are implying, they wouldn't be winning 85% of their games.
Gens do get rushed every game. Whether the rush is successful is a different argument. If this wasn't the case then we wouldn't have a meta that includes 3 perks dedicated to preventing gens from getting finished.
I play with no gen reduction perks. I just unlocked ruin as teachable a few days ago just bought clown a couple weeks ago so don't have pop. Don't have plague for corrupt. Gens pop so fast without proper perks that you can't stop them unless they misplay. So if I complain about something being new to the game and then players with thousands of hours in the game complain about the same thing then there is a problem because it might get better with practice and experience but it doesn't actually get better.
Gens being rushed and the killer still killing most or all doesn't mean that gens are fine. It means something happened to let the killer capitalize.

I actually play pyramid head more, Nurse is my off one when I'm bored of him. Alternatively there's doctor and wraith which I play semi regularly, and Bubba too. All of these killers, bar nurse, have no movement ability and very little map pressure yet I still don't get rushed. Funny that.
Also, I know the numbers of this game. I've been playing for 3 years and have over 2000 hours tallied up. Maybe focus more on improving yourself instead of crying genrush every game.
I am improving myself. But I don't believe you can stop most gens from popping from simply walking around. I've seen 3 gens pop in the first 3 minutes and only ever chased and downed a single person while only ever being near 1 running generator. And that was without being led off into a dead zone. 1 person can pop 3 gens unaided in 4 minutes while the other 3 survivors distract a killer with chases Downs hooks and saves.
Again I don't usually tunnel just to tunnel but I will take the opportunity should it present itself to down them.

Am I better than Otz or Tru3? Probably not, though I'd say I'm a better Nurse than Otz is. Probably a better Pyramid Head than them both too, when I actually try to win and don't just go for fun through-the-wall shots. But Otz is the best Trapper player I know, and Tru3 is very good at all-round killers.
But, again, they also don't get rushed every single game. There are very, very few times where I have experienced getting rushed, and they don't get rushed all too often either. Like Otz had that game as Slinger on Haddonfield- he still won. He didn't get rushed, he pulled it back. That's part of what makes a good killer, being able to come back.
You don't care how good of a killer I am? Well you should, since I'm able to consistently win.
Also Ormond is my favourite map to get as Pyramid Head or Nurse, so, there's that. Saloon can ######### off though. So can Mother's Dwelling.
So you play nurse and want to argue about how easy it is for you to win consistently? It's been proven time and time again that nurse is the strongest killer and can counter the very best teams of survivors.
Without proper perks you can't patrol all gens at once. With no perks and no toolbox a gen can be done by 1 person in 80 seconds. That is nothing until the end. If you can prevent an easy 3 gen then the killer is at a huge disadvantage. Tru right now is showing what no gen defense means in having all gens done around 5 minutes. Otz won that slinger match more so because survivors tend to prioritize saving one person when 3 other could escape.

Me, I believe that, since they don't get rushed vs me. I recorded 30 matches in a row, every single one was over 13 minutes long. Rank 1. They were playing seriously, and I was able to not camp or tunnel at all.
Maybe, just maybe, you're bad as killer.
I'm def not a great killer. I've got less than 100 hours in the game between playing both killer and survivor and only reached rank 5 before reset since I only get a couple hours every few days to play. The only reason I have as much time in as I do was because I was quarantined for 2 weeks due to covid.
You can go watch top players and streamers get gen rushed most games. Otzdarva gets rushed. Tru gets rushed. Are you saying you are a better killer than Otz? The only way to prevent it is to have the proper perks which you can't have until you unlock them.
Again survivors aren't just standing in the middle of the map playing games. If two survivors are on either side of the map on a gen and you are in the middle and both pair start a gen you won't be able to stop both. I don't care how good you are. One gets done while you chase on the other side of the map. If you leave that side to go to the other the first gets finished before you ever have a chance to get back. It's why ormond is such an awful map for killer. If all survivors would get the middle gen then split into two pairs and go to opposite sides of the map there would be little most killer's could do.

why shouldnt i?
seems like you cant handle critisism on your playstyle very well.
if you want to avoid that, try playing more fair next time.
you can win without hardtunneling down the first person you see, ya know?
It isn't criticism. It is someone feeling as though they were wronged so they complain. If someone unhooks I chase the unhooker. But there are times when a trade happens and then I will turn and chase the unhooked (or they ran borrowed and now I'm going to try and get the down on the unhooked because I've already wasted my time trying to hit someone that took no damage). I've already downed and hooked someone else. I can't help it if your team decides to heal you 15 feet from me and I find you. I'm going to try to down you before you get healed before hitting the other person. Downing someone is more important than injuring someone.

This whole DC discussion is just so stupid... what are the ACTUAL EFFECTS of aggravated survivors choosing to avoid the DC penalty?
The survivor gets downed and angry. But instead of DC'ing he waits. The following things possibly happen:
- The killer hooks him and he suicides on hook. How did this improve the gameplay?
- The killer hooks him and a teammate saves him before he can suicide. Small chance he plays a bit more. More likely he just runs to the killer or otherwise doesn't play normally because he just wants out of this match.
- The killer leaves him on the ground to bleed out. This is one of the reasons people DC. Now he has to lay there doing nothing while the killer revels in his own toxicity. So now you're exacerbating a bad situation and rewarding the toxic killer while pushing away a survivor.
- The killer leaves him slugged but a teammate saves him. Again some chance that he plays normally. More likely the teammate gets hit/downed healing him and/or he doesn't play normally but just lets himself get downed again.
The only situation where the DC penalty does any good is when the angry survivor ends up getting saved and plays the rest of the match normally. I am telling you this is maybe 10% of the time. 20% max.
Stop trying to force people to play through bad situations that are caused by your own bad game design. Let them enjoy the good and skip the bad. All you're doing is pissing people off that want to enjoy the good aspects of your game.
It isn't stupid because dcing simply for being downed early screws over 4 other people. It hurts the other survivors more than it hurts the killer. Just sit on hook and see if you can make a difference later. Hell you get bp out of it.

Well then don't call people out for something like tunneling like the other person should care how much fun you had. Your survivor mates dictate your fun in how well they do. It's like playing a sport. You don't tell the other team that they should have let you score more because it wasn't fun.

Face camping is okay when you do it to someone that you caught after a long toxic chase. I did it the other day to a Dwight who loved to vault spam non stop just to annoy me and get me to chase him. He wanted my attention and I gave it to him. But rather than face him, I stood next to him facing away from the hook so he could see my face as the entity took him.
I will do the same to anyone who t-bags and points every time they get a pallet stun on me. Like, yeah, I know, you got me, you don't have to rub it in, but if you insist, I will do the same.
I get this. This is a special case lol.

its also the killers fault for prioritizing them over other, just as (or even more) vulnerable targets.
its not like this was entirely one sides fault, both sides can be held responsible for it.
and if you are allowed to complain about 2nd chances survivors have, they are also allowed to complain if you play like that.
and no, im not denying that there are a lot of BS camp / tunnel claims. but saying that every camp / tunnel complaint would be bad and it would be entirely their fault if that happened is just as biased as calling everything tunneling / camping.
Killing survivors is an objective for a killer. If we can't attack a survivor that is injured off hook then survivors shouldn't be able to work on generators that they didn't start.

@dugman said:
Interesting summary. So about 2/3 of females prefer killer and 2/3 of males prefer survivor. Also about 4/5 of the respondents were male versus 1/5 female. I wonder if the two are correlated in the sense that because there are far fewer female players the ones that exist tend to prefer the solo experience of killer over playing with friends as survivor? In other words are players in general more comfortable playing solo if they have fewer people they associate with outside the game and the male and female players tend to prefer to associate with similar genders, leading to the smaller gender group gravitating more toward the solo experience?
I think this is an important distinction. In my experience, which I know in terms of statistics is just conjecture, males have more friends that play games and would be more likely to play a game of this type. With that being said, if you have more friends that play this game then you are more likely to play together and if you do so you are forced to play survivor. So more groups are going to prefer survivor because that is what they are better at or have more practice doing, or simply don't play as much solo. Simply looking at only one factor in the regression isn't enough because it can form a bias to that one factor. I would bet that if a few dummy variables were used to bring more factors into the game such as 1= prefers to play solo or 0=prefers to play in group another being 1=has 1 or 2 friends with the game or 0=has 3+ friends with the game that we may see less bias on the gender variable.
Essentially the more variables you use the more accurate the model. If you use only one then it either has no correlation at all or it is super correlated most of the time. When I was earning my Econ Master's I did a study that was looking at gun violence. If I formed a regression that looked at total homicide (just simply someone dying) as the dependent, and used murder as the independent variable it would show that murder was a huge factor. But if you start throwing in other independent variables such as earned income, education, family make up etc. I know this looked at education, but the other variables seemed to all be in game choices which people may have been indifferent about and made decisions in answering based on anything. This game being different than an mmorpg where personality is more important due to picking a character and basically becoming that character and playing a particular role where essentially in this game every character is the same provided the same perk availability across the board and everyone needs to due the same few tasks.

Finally someone who got it who understand the meaning of it so thank you and I been doing this and people think it tunneled all they think is killer fault but never survivor fault which this is why this community don't wanna play dbd anymore.
People like to talk about letting survivors have fun and stuff like that based on some old unwritten code of conduct from the survivors handbook of petty. If I'm playing killer I am going to try and kill them and I am going to try and prevent generators from being fixed. I don't care how and I don't care how they feel (except for face camping). I don't care if they had fun, I only care that I had fun. Chasing the entire time and being bullied by swf friends isn't fun. Tea bagging because you made a pallet is fun for me. Clicking flashlights isn't fun for me. Watching everyone run out of the doors and talk trash to me even though I am new isn't fun for me (Rank 19 that got thrown in with a Rank 1,3,3,5. I had literally only played the game for like 3 hours). It is hard enough with gen slowdown unlocked not to mention not having it at all.
The only thing I don't agree with is face camping. Don't hook someone then stand in front of them until they die. It is one thing to be roaming around the general area when you know the other survivors are there but to just stand there and wait is just wrong. I did it once during the rift to kill my final obsession for a task. I felt like ######### doing it and let the rest of the team finish all the gens and just leave and apologized to the person I camped and told them why.

I feel as though she might as well not have a second blink. When I've tried her the second blink charge up lasts like 2 seconds and moves you about two feet. Even if you stand right next to the wall of the killer shack second blink won't let me phase through the wall. Same goes for tiles, survivor vaults a window as I come out of first blink and just gets to run away as second blink bumps the wall won't let me through and then I'm stuck in that ######### cooldown. I've charged my 1st blink to full and been stuck on a rock right in front of me. Also been stuck on a tree before.

I wasn't throwing shade at your post sorry if it came across that way.
Ghost Rider itself is just the spirit inside of a body so yes it could be a new person. Zarathos was originally a demon that tried to take over hell. Zarathos's power was what turned vengeance. So I guess I should really just say Zarathos as a killer.
