Well you do not necessarily know if teammates rae going for the rescue while swf do
-
@Sonzaishinai if someone blocks you for no reason he is most likely a salty, bad teammate that looks for a reason to blame you instead of himself and sucks at the game & would just drag you down anyways. You do not want this kind of teammate anyways. Beside, this type of person would block so many people that his queue would increase much more than your's and at the end of the day, he probably does not enjoy the game so he is likely to quit.
And let's say everyone blocks you because you always think of yourself and let everyone else die, that's your problem, stop playing in a way that ruins the fun for everyone but you.
-
@ad19970 first of all, like I said in the post, the survivors that block everyone would probably be rude and most likely bad teammates themselves that want to blame everyone else for their failure, and who wants to play with them? They will penalize themselves far more than the people who will have the fortune of not having to play with them.
Also, a tutorial would not fix the issue of selfish teammates: you know you could do that last generator, but why not just hide, let everyone die and take the hatch?
-
@KerJuice deal
-
@Valik I think that a rework in which the devs transform the bloodpoint system into a system that is accurate for determinating skill would be a very long and complex task. They are too busy releasing new dlcs of trash maps and killers whose power us just a remix of older killer powers.
-
@Johnny_XMan which is a mistake. They move so slowly when reworking maps and it is often a failure, they just need to delete it.
-
@Valik I think there would be problems.
If you have 2 survivors, one uses 5 pallets and gets a stun every time and goes down in 1 minute, the other uses 0 pallets and goes down in 1 minute, then the first survivor gets blood points for the stuns but the second one does not.
Then, the survivor who unhooks all 3 teammates but then dies instead of leaving gets less blood points that the one who just leaves.
I could give many examples, but blood points are not really based on skill.
Also, a survivor could literally just sabo hooks when the killer is far away and gain more blood points than if he was doing generators.
I could literally give examples like this all day, just tell me how many you want.
-
@Valik yes, but you can also be mismatched with teammates better than you. And yes, I am aware on the short term it is not perfect. If there are better solutions I am open for them, but the devs never really managed to create good ranking systems that work, neither on the short or long term.
-
@TeabaggingGhostface but this is very unlikely to happen in the first place in a 3v1, just look at binomial distribution.
-
@Valik but in the long run, like in 100 games or so, being screwed or carried is nearly impossible. When you have 300 random teammates, then with binomial distribution you should know that it will even out (if you know what this thing is). The noob that got lucky will eventually face binomial distribution and get back to the rank he deserves, also, if he gets too high his incompetence will drag others down, causing defeat. Do you want me to explain what binomial distribution is? I can do it if you want.
Also, according to your logic (that escapes = skill), survivors that hide in lockers and just move to avoid crows all game and then use left behind or a key to escape have done a good job, since they escaped. Very easy to exploit. Good job on the survivor that always hides when exit gates are powered, lets others open them and then escape while leaving behind the teammates who did all the work.
-
@Shaped well they were the ones to not see the trap :p
-
@Advorsus thank you, but I tried it and sometimes the window is blocked and does not spawn. Any other spot?
-
@Icaurs I meant a story mode.
-
Ideas I have for this are:
1) Survivors have to do 3 generators but each generator has a special challenge.
2) 2 killers vs 8 survivors on a map twice as big and 10 gens need to be done (there would be 4 exit gates).
3) 2 killers vs 8 survivors but the killers are in competition with each other (who gets the most kills) and the last survivor alives automatically escapes (if a survivor escapes all remaining survivors are sacrificed by the entity).
4) A 6 perks game mode.
5) A random roulette chooses every item, add on, perk, offering, survivor and killer.
6) The killer can now choose 2 different powers, but there are 5 survivors.
7) Every 2 minutes, everyone is relocated at a random spot on the map by the entity.
8) Each locker is linked to another random locker: if you go in it, you are teleported to the other locker.
-
@StarLost only a potato survivor will go down instantly. If the survivors are even remotely good, this will not happen, even if he just runs and predrops every pallet.
That Myers play was not hard to do, I did it a lot of times and then it was an easy 3v1. Most survivors do not like being bored, so when I faked rage quitting and was in t2, it was easy.
NOED and BW is not even hard, just down one person and then you can BW.
If you want I can record some matches for you.
-
@StarLost yea, dbd is definitely a game that requires skill to win.
It takes a lot of skill to bring 4 good toolboxes and pop 3 generators by the time the killer gets one down.
It takes a lot of skill to fake rage quitting as Myers and popping tombstomb on the nearest survivor.
It takes a lot of skill to facecamp a survivor to death with insidious leatherface in the basement.
It takes a lot of skill to bring noed, get a down and then kill everyone with blood warden.
No, dbd is not a skill game, it is a cheese game. Who can bring the better cheese build? Who has the cheesier strategy?
-
@GentlemanFridge I admit camping is not fun, but personally I choosed to stay way from the game as much as possible instead of complaining about something the devs are unwilling to fix and admit the game style does not suit me.
@StarLost good for you if you enjoy the game!
-
@DrDeepwound yea, but in 2 hours (limit time before refunding is refused), you will almost certainly be camped at least once because low mmr killers use this strategy a lot.
@StarLost if you were not happy with it, you had enough time to leave: within the 2 trying hours, you could easily have left the game if it did not please you, because low mmr killers camp you almost certainly got at least one.
@GoshJosh I never said that, but at this point there are so many cheesy strategies that give easy wins on both sides that this game is not really skilled based.
-
@StarLost I think you are in the wrong game. You do not enjoy strategies that take no skill and are more of a cheesy gimmick, I recommend you try literally any single player or coop game & competitive symmetrical game.
Dbd is a party game, the winning strategies in it were never meant to require brainpower or anything like that.
-
@SuzuKR in this case, survivors that are sick and tired of it can go play another game that is more skilled based if it bothers them.
-
@dugman how do I contact a moderator?
-
@dugman by uploading a video while playing (which did not work). He said that he did that specifically to create lag, not because he happened to want to play while uploading.
-
@dugman he said he tried to create lag (for getting undeserved hits), but not lag switch.
-
Ula in my opinion, team performance is enough, on the long term.
Let me explain: yes, by bad luck you can get bad teammates. However, in the long run, your luck will be average (binomial distribution, if you do many games the chances of you being negatively impacted by teammates are very low).
-
@sizzlingmario4 but then hatchets should insta down.
-
@KingRudolf a perk that allows you to heal yourself at any point at full speed AND heal others very fast is way to strong. I tested it, it is busted.
-
@The_Krapper yea, but there are tons of examples of survivors using it as a free escape card.
1) Dead harding over a trap.
2) Dead hard to save yourself if you get jumpscared.
3) The survivor goes in the open and plays poorly but thanks to dead hard, makes it to a loop.
@AngyKiller lol your comment is ironic, you say "whatever survivors invent next" but you can only defend killers lmao. Also if you cannot pressure gens and down survivors you do not deserve to have an easy down at the end.
-
@OpenX you are basically talking about the best survivor teams here, so why not compare them to the best killers as well, like nurse?
@Barbarossa2020 one broken item does not mean the game is survivor sided.
-
@Oiry ok, but then you cannot bring 3 and 4 man swfs or strong perk survivor in the equation if you just look at the average killer. Because if you are going to look at the average killer potential, also look at the average survivor potential, not the huge swfs groups or strong perks. I can tell you survivors without the meta and not in a huge swf group will be beatable with a mid tier killer because there will most likely be a weakling (it is unlikely to randomly get 4 good survivors) matched with you or a cheesy strat that can be used.
-
@Oiry good killers that play Billy, huntress and Nurse with the right build can equal the good survivors in a swf. If you compare killers to good survivors, then compare the ones that play at their maximum potential, which is a good killer.
-
@FFirebrandd I agree these perks are dumb, but killers to have low skill tactics things they can do to secure a kill or win, like camping, using noed, etc.
@Oiry it is true that 3-4 man swfs are to strong, however solos are in a bad state due to selfish teammates leaving you enter second stage or some dumb things.
Otzdarva and others have managed to get huge win streaks in red ranks before mmr, how did they do so if the game is so survivor sided like all killer mains love to say?
@Tiller ok, but if you are going to mention how the best survivors defeat killers, then you can only compare them to the best killers that also bring broken things.
@Aurelle boon is broken just like exhaustion perks, just like NOED and facecamping killers can mostly secure 2 kills no skill.
@IamFran I agree, swfs are to strong and solos to weak.
@ThiccBudhha not really, looping is quite strong enough to give skilled survivors a fair chance against skilled killers.
-
Oh ok, thank you everyone!
-
I personally do not understand the point of adding new maps while we already have a lot of them needing a rework, so I was wondering if other people share this opinion.
-
@dugman the problem is that the enemy could start using hacks to boost you as a way of trolling and getting you banned & dbd is very buggy which can lead to "impossible" results.
-
Ok, but you know how much time the devs take to fix maps, right? Could it just be disabled until the map is fixed?
-
@Cowabunga06 ok, but then how do we keep the game interesting? It is getting quite repetitive. New killers are just remixes of older ones.
-
@TheArbiter I alreayd made one for RDP.
-
@TheMadCat I did get a few tbaggers, but the problem is that even if I do not let it look like I have tombstomb, the tbaggers always get out before I can mori them. Any tip?
-
@Veinslay ok, thanks for the tips!
-
@bm33 no need to force the survivor to sit through the match. When every survivor is either dead or escaped, you can re-adjust the mmr automatically, even if they are offline or in another match.
@SweetTerror the game is only scary for beginners. Most people have hundreds of hours in the game, at which point there is no fear. Dbd is like an horror movie: scary the first time you watch it, not so scary afterwards. It just ruins the game for everyone who is not a begginer to have the game decisions based on an almost inexistent fear.
-
@danielmaster87 the game is not about YOUR rules specifically. If you can set up rules, then why can't the rest of the community set up some?
Bming is a bit toxic but it does not remove 99% of your chances to win, it does not remove most of the fun, it does not give a free kill or escape that requires no skill and it does not cause everyone to finish the game with less bloodpoints.
Your argument is that camping is a legitimate strategy. But bming can be a legitimate strategy if we use your logic, because a survivor t-bagging for the killer to follow you so that other survivors can finish gens is a strategy. Bming at the exit gate removed no chance you had to win.
At the end of the day, I will not follow the rules that are in my opponent's head if that opponent always makes excuses to play how he wants. What I try to avoid doing however, is going in the end game chat being salty, and what I will never do is to start making threats and spamming insults at the person (which some people do for some reason).
-
@danielmaster87 I agree, camping is not toxic. Just like it is not toxic to play how you want as survivor when the killer plays how he wants. If the killer decides he does what he wants, I will do what I want.
-
@Mekochi "but but my strat is legitimate". You played how you want, you have no rule to dictate to me, period. If you think that you can start making all kinds of excuses for yourself, that everything you do is justified, then do not be surprised when the other side could not care less about your pseudo rules. No rules for you, no rules for me!
T-bagging at the exit gate, for example, is not getting you to depip, not be able to play the game or lose bloodpoints for something that you have almost no control over, and t-bagging for the killer to get your attention means that you are asking the killer for attention (so you get it lol). I to can start throwing all kinds of excuses for my actions while also thinking that everything else that is done to me is wrong, everyone can do that.
The point is, when killers or survivors think they are entitled to have a rulebook for the opposite side while also not giving a damn about the rules of this side, they have no room to complain about whatever happens to them in game. If you want non official rules applied to others, then why can't these other people apply their rules?
-
@CoalTower I agree old ruin should be base kit, but only on 3-4 man swf. Solo queue games are already balanced and solos do not need nerfs.
If the survivors are solos: no effect.
If the survivors are a 2 man swf: old ruin but the great skill check zone increases by 25%.
If the survivors are a 3 man swf: old ruin.
If the survivors are a 4 man swf: old ruin without the totem.
-
@CoalTower max one kill? Where is the logic here? If you catch one survivor, around 2 gens should be done. the decent team will not rescue the hooked survivor but rather do generators. Then, the exits are powered. You can catch someone with noed and facecamp. This gives 2 kills. Where are your counter arguments for this? This means at least 2 kills.
@Pulsar the goal of the game is not to pip. It is to kill (if you are a killer). It is even written in the name of the role "killer", not "pipper". Emblem system is just a bunch of garbage the devs threw together.
-
@CoalTower at worst you will have a draw, which means 2 kills. And what is a balanced ratio? Average of 2 kills 2 escapes. There, the game is balanced.
-
@Predated yea, thinking about it the devs do not have enough skill to do this.
-
When we look at niche cases, yes. But here I am talking about looking at the statistics coming from experienced players, not a bunch of noobs, which is basically your whole argument.
-
@Kind_Lemon true!
