The second you are at the MMR cap of 1600 the "most" part of your argument goes out the window. Survivors try to finish the gens ultra quick so you have to delete them quickly from the match.

As you say 12 hooks is a lower rank thing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3238777#Comment_3238777

Your post makes me angry. It is a reflection of how out of touch the developers are with favoritism regarding totems/boons with one side of the game. Imagine : you can't interact with totems unless you have a boon perk. Note: that would be unfair but I think you get the point.

This would almost be like the current state of boons where you can't remove them unless you have a perk that does nothing otherwise. I can't take a perk as killer when I am against 16 other perks that will do nothing in 40% of games.

Shattered hope would be an "ok" perk if killer were given a 5th slot that can only have a hex related perk in that slot. I would just take shattered hope to delete all boons. But then nobody would run boons making shattered hope pointless.

They have a point. If circle of healing bothers you THAT much, you probably should bring shattered hope. Flashlights bother me. I have been blinded while facing walls which is when I finally put my foot down and decided to accept the graces of our lord and savior, Lightborn. I run 3 perks and do just fine and the most frustrating aspect of the game, for me, is gone. Heck, I also run Iron Grasp on my Leatherface just to eviscerate sabo squads. It worked just yesterday when I ran into a 4 man TTV boil over squad. I can only imagine their disappointment when the last minute swaps were pre-countered. Ha ha ha...

  • MMR is very loose nowadays. It is more luck of the draw than anything.

Can you get the Kate stuff by playing through the killer tree?

Yes, fortunately. All the important nodes crossover with an either role challenge, if I recall correctly. The only exception is that you have to play one survivor game to finish 2 generators.

  • I have no clue, but can we please buff survivor and/or nerf killer so that it stops? I just want to find a game in a timely manner.

  • Behavior never understood the term "by any means" particularly well...

  • @Crowman said:

So the killer has to have void energy in order to steal any from stuns.

You also need to not be carrying the max of 15 void energy or have already gotten 30 void energy in order for it count as stealing.

Oh, wow, really? I thought you would still gain points in the background it just would not visually show up. That is pretty annoying. I am just going through the killer track on this one. I ain't touching that challenge.

  • I agree with bm33. Run a hatch build if your teams are getting decimated. It will still be frustrating if you get targeted early which is, ideally, why you more or less play immersed until they die. I am not saying to not do gens. I am saying if the terror radius vaguely enters your area, time to leave. Haha.

  • Yeah, most of those come down to a 2v1 where the survivors get mad and hold the game hostage. Had it happen on Pinhead (which is THE killer you want to be in that situations as the chains have a chance of exposing them) and Freddy. I just held a three gen until they gave up even though that is technically against the rules according to Behavior. Not my b, though, they would just remove the medal system and change how the achievements work.

  • If it is a blatant SWF, I do not see the harm in tunneling one of them out. If the scenario happens that Peanits described, the game will be over very fast and you will likely draw. Or it works and you win. Personally? Hard to see the downside for me.

Not only that, but playing for end game is a skill and a lot of killers lack it. I watch a lot of content creators and you can tell when they are forced into those situations they crumble as they do not know what to do. So I also disagree with the people who are like, "get better, man." You get better by practicing and ignoring the strategy just because survivors get salty is not going to make you better.

Just saying, a lot of SWF think they are cute until you give me a couple minutes with them. I prefer playing against them because I do not feel bad about taking the gloves off.

  • @Pumpkinbros said:

I've literally never heard of that killer in my life is this actually real?

It looks like a really bad photoshop job to me.

  • Wow, you did not tunnel them? That would have been funnier because then the one guy has to sit there the whole time.

  • Scooby-Doo would be a dream come true. I am not sure it is impossible given some of the crazy stuff we have gotten, but, like, I am not holding my breath, man.

  • @itsPina said:

It definitely seems like you all overreacted. You know what is actually killing the game? 1/4 teammates completely sandbagging *every time*. The game should be balanced around all 4 survivors playing together but since most solo queue teammates either DC, die on first hook, or just troll the the entire game killer feels "OP"

Absolutely. I just signed on to play a few games and get my rewards. I did 8 games and had a survivor giving up in 7 of the 8... Technically? Some weird bug happened in the last game where I used Wesker's ability on someone who was near a locker and they were like some strange ghost and nobody could pick her up. The locker would not open but afk crows were spawning in it. It was odd. I just let them go because I felt bad about it.

  • It would not really work fairly as a universal rule. Sure, for Oni that would be very good. On Michael? Well, you know, he has instant downs. Extended his timer would probably piss off survivors.

  • I do not think the changes are healthy for the game, but I am rather calm... You can be displeased by a decision without freaking out, fam. Or at least most of us can. You might be an exception, I guess? Which is cool. Whatever works for you, I am not here to judge.

  • Really? I feel the strategy will largely be to just instant pick up or purposely slug without ever intending to pick up at all.

  • Do not worry, people will also point out that the changes are bad during the PTB too.

I don't know how to respond to that complete lack of understanding, so I'm just gonna let it go.

How is that a complete lack of understanding? If anything, I would argue he understands better than your average player.

  • If you already deleted the files, you should be fine. The anti-cheat is not going to flag your account from the past, fam. It is reading for programs and whatnot installed at the moment. That being said, plenty of content creators use those custom icons and they are not getting flagged by anti-cheat. I would not use them myself, as why even take the risk at all, but seriously, you will be fine. The Buddha gives you his blessing.

  • @My_Aespa said:

There are two survivors left usually me and someone else, and the killer can't find me because I'm off doing a generator in the farthest regions of the map. If they come around, I'll go and hide because I don't wanna be caught, because I wanna keep playing. The killer always runs into the other survivor, and eventually lets the survivor go. What does the other survivor do? Run them right over to me and points me out, just so they can farm me right off the hook until I die and the killer lets the other survivor escape. This is the 3rd time this happened this week, why do you killers do this just because you can't find me?

You answered your own question right at the end, I do not like immersed players. It is not about the win, at that point. It is about denying you the one thing you are so insanely desperate for. And you can tell it works, because you guys always cry about the karmic retribution. That other survivor deserved a real teammate and I deserved a real game. So you die. Simple as that.

  • No, I do not remember that. I remember saying I would face camp you regardless. And I ain't evah lie.

  • The perks in this game, like the matchmaking, suck. Otz started this whole wait 30 seconds perkless nonsense and most people were able to complete it even when mmr was more stringent than it is now. I believe TrueTalent was the only one who couldn't because he refused to camp and tunnel. You do not need perks against scrubs, and the 4 strongest perks will not save you from good survivors.

  • Hit validation is not coming back. They tried it your way, realized the game was more or less unplayable, and thankfully turned it off. You can thank me, they clearly got tired of me ironically asking for vault validation.

  • Hell no, if mmr was as tight as it once was, killers would objectively need buffs. A lot of them. I do not care what low skill survivors say, the game is heavily favored on their side if they are competent.

BUT, with mmr being looser than a mofo, killers might genuinely need nerfs. I do not care what low skill killers say, the game is heavily favored to their side because survivors are rarely competent.

It sucks running into survivors that are more or less exploiting the design of the game. And it is not just swf. Sorry to burst your bubble, but strong solo survivors can do it just as easy and not every swf is an improvement to matchmaking even in this state.

That is the truth, Buddha be my witness.

  • I personally took it out back, don't worry... Hit Validation is in a better place.

  • @Flimflam said:

Because it's made me not want to play the game anymore. I'm not even T-bagging or clicking killers in my games and I'm regularly getting bled out/hit on hook/camped simply for playing the game well. Like holy hell I'm sorry I didn't fall for your garbage mindgame that I've seen 1000 times before or got a pallet stun on you. Don't take it so personally.

Killers essentially being able to force a person to not be able to play the game for over half the length of time a lot of games last is unacceptable and makes for a regularly agonizing experience.

"But what about SWF/clicky/T-bag squads!" Yes, I agree BM on both sides needs to be addressed but in the case of survivors inflicting BM on a killer the worst case scenario is you get a 4 stack that knows how to abuse double locker setups. In this scenario you need a well coordinated group of 4 people and multiple of them need to not screw up the timing. Or hope that the killer isn't running lightborne.

Killers have the ability to BM in every single winning game that they play and it takes 0 effort to do so. 4k'ing a soloQ team, bleeding out and nodding at the one player that can actually play the game and didn't get 2 tapped in a chase is way more common of a scenario not even counting the other ridiculously boring crap like LF facecamping.

Ironic that you think I take the game seriously just because I face camp you, which I literally do for fun, all the while you rage about it on the internet and put up very defensive barriers to your communication. Seems legit.

I do not care if you are good or not, you were going to get camped because you were the first down. Nothing personal, kid. A face camp God does not concern himself with your state of mind as he face camps you. Just enjoy the beating on hook, it is a privilege to be beaten by someone as adept at face camping as ThiccBuddha.

I will be sure to dump giant spiders on my kid when they are young so that they will have a more interesting story to tell than TotemSeeker91. Mods, this goes without saying, but I am joking, or am I? You never know!

Anyways, I always wanted a pet tarantula. Just thought I would mention it because this topic will probably never be relevant again. Oh, and a spider killer, a sexy one. Get on it, DBD devs.

  • I vaguely agree, but in the opposite direction. Survivor's lack of competence end game is a blessing for killers. They just do not seem to comprehend how to play end game. No idea what the problem seems to be, but yeah, generally speaking, that is where most of my kills on "good" survivors come from. Those clowns just give them for free.

I wouldn't call it my crutch though. I do not need a crutch if survivors offer themselves to me and refuse to leave. Like, how the heck is it my fault they misplay religiously? I do not ask them to do it. If I did, they might play properly just to spite me.

How? How can it possibly be as rewarding? If you don't pick your teammates you are going to have a lesser experience than if you do. This applies to literally every team based game in the history of games.

Better matchmaking. Return mmr to how it was before when killers were afraid to play the game, and, well, survivors will have a better experience, as they did once before.

At the cost of high end killers, of course. It was a humbling time back then, and a lot of killers have that arrogance back. Maybe it is time for the pendulum to swing?

  • I do not even know where the hell APAC is, but I would assume occam's razor applies and that region prefers consistency over viability, which is fair enough. I just gave up on that perk, though. I am a sociopathic narcissist and even I do not run it. Lol. Take that as you will.

  • It is hard to tell with latency, but I have "missed" some pretty free dead hards. I play fighting games with one frame links, so I am used to very specific windows, and sometimes dead hard just fails. Not sure if the delay is built in or lag based.

  • I am surprised it is not higher given the month of mental health awareness that survivor mains were advocating for.

  • It is not as though he actively campaigns for it. But generally speaking, he does not think they should be a thing.

Bubbas are doing hook grabs now?

    Did i miss something?

I believe they were speaking of the base kit BT. That being said, I do sometimes challenge those brave enough to approach with the opportunity to save if they can avoid the grab. It is the most engaging part of face camping, in my opinion. If you can call something so obvious an opinion, that is. I mean, not like I can do much else besides swing my hammer at them.

  • Well, you know, I can only speak for myself. I am sure there are some nice killers out there that dislike DCs. Otz gets pretty passionate for the survivor experience when someone gives up.

That just ain't me. I pop the champagne and brutalize the ones they left behind.

To be fair. It was a hilariously fun perk. Not much more. Since it didn´t give any rescues or so. It really shouldn´t have been nerfed.

If it were up to me, I would buff it to always plant a mine after 5 seconds of gen progress. Muahahaha. This community thinks Behavior is bad at balance, but they cannot even comprehend the monstrosity that I would make this game. Bully squads everywhere would stack Blast Mine. Killers would become afraid of generators in my ideal world.

I don't recall if any of the players had boil over, it's possible that the totel time was somewhere in between 5-10 seconds, but what I know is that it has never felt that fast before, and I couldn't even drop the person in time.

Even when hooks were very close nearby, 1 swing at the most was enough to get them out and off my shoulder, and every time all 3 of them seemed to stand in front of me and body block me. The match was pretty much unplayable lol

Sometimes the ground is a more viable hook. Sure, it takes twice as long, but you also save time picking up and carrying them. I would totally use the ground next time you see a group trying this!

Dude a killer who hard camps and tunnels doesn't want to play the game. You think he cares if the survivor on the receiving end DC's/suicides? No he is probably laughing and congrulating himself.

If the killer hardcore camps and tunnels he clearly doesn't want to olay the game so why should the survivors?

I am just gonna say, I nearly NEVER have any DC'ers/suicides in my killer games and it doesn't matter which killer I play (even on killers like Nurse and Legion) and you know why? Cause I don't camp and tunnel. I run info perks like BBQ or Thrilling on all my killers. I love chasing people as killer, outplaying them and getting better. If you prefer to stay 3/4th of a game infront of a hook then don't cry if people don't want to play with you.

I am so confused, bro. I must have misread your post or something, but I am too lazy to verify it. I will say I agree with you at this point. As a face camp God, I do not care if they DC.

I AM NOT ENDORSING DISCONNECTING FROM YOUR MATCHES. I AM A STRONG, INDEPENDENT KILLER WHO FOLLOWS THE RULES. PLEASE FINISH YOUR MATCHES, DO IT FOR THE BUDDHA.

But yeah, I would totally take the free win. No doubt. All I am saiyan is that removing the DC penalty has ALWAYS been the biggest killer buff. Even Behavior could not accidentally create a more powerful change to the role. Try as they might. Killers moving at 200% speed would result in a lower kill rate than a patch with the DC penalty turned off. Facts is facts.

I believe if you watched the video he gave this as a counter to facecamping killers which is fair someone ruining the game for someone else should NOT be given results because they decided to not play the game. also it would still result in a trade.

You know what is even more fair? Counterplay. Let's go ahead and keep that in the game, thank you very much!

  • It should not be about which maps actually NEED a rework. Rework the damned swamp because it is ugly as hell. I didn't realize DbD was on the ps3, but this map reminds me of that fact every time I load into it. Which is very often. I need a restraining order to keep this serial stalker away from my family.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3187279#Comment_3187279

I think survivors should able to work for another BM once the previous one already activating. They can increase the work requirement from 50% to 66%. Currently what I understand is you have to wait for 50sec (over half a Gen) before you able to working for BM again.

Which mean only able to use twice per 3 Gens.

It makes sense that BM was nerfed this hard, it had nearly a 100% pickrate and even the initials spell out bad manners. It was just so toxic as the killer to lose games because every gen I kicked was a BM. Do you have any idea how unfun it is to be stunned for half the match?

  • @Tostapane said:

they fixed the fact that now it will count toward the chaser emblem, true, but what about the points for hitting someone in the brutality category? even nemesi can earn those points with his tentacle strike...

If you check my post history, you would see I play both sides so your whole post is invalid.

No, it is not. You would need to prove killer mains cared about survivors DCing, and also that they are the same types that defend face camping. It is truly some nonsensical stuff you set yourself up for there. I have no idea what you thought your point was, but I do appreciate the laugh. Feelsbadman. I was not trying to type your name, I am just using the expression.

Killer players: don't punish killers for camping and tunneling, give em incentives to not do so.

Also killer players: punish the DC'ers/Suiciders!

How about we give solo survivors (I doubt you see many SWF quitting) "incentives" for keeping playing - the incentive is called F U N btw. which this game is seriously lagging since 6.1.0.

As a killer main, I would not care if DC or suicide players were punished. I am not sure if you are aware of this or not... But it makes the game a free win for killer, buddy. Pretty sure your beef is with survivors. They are the ones actually punished for teammates giving up. Lol.

If you are going to do the whole us versus them bait, you have to cater to the proper side. It doesn't just work because you said one side hates it. You have to actually trigger killers if you want them to respond in a capacity beyond correcting you.

  • That would not stop people such as Otz from asking for grabs to be removed from the game. 10 second basekit BT is just not enough hand holding for some. They feel entitled to literal free unhooks, unfortunately.

I think we're all better off acknowledging that this is what human nature is and shaming isn't going to change it.

The cycle can be broken though. The survivors just have to have hope that the match will end "well" whatever that means. The simplest thing would be radically increase bloodpoints for survivors on hook if they stick out to the bitter end. Seriously, give survivors 20k bloodpoints if they make every skill check and finally die when their hook timer runs out.

Or give basekit fixes for parts of the game that make the game feel terrible for survivors like facecamping and tunneling off hook. I get it there's a new perk, buried behind a pay wall, that only engages when another survivor abandons what they are doing to approach within 6m. This is laughably bad. I love how the killer community gaslit BHVR into think it was so powerful it needed to be nerfed. I have literally never seen it taken in a game. Nevermind see it change the behavior of killers... so predictably unhelpful.

Personally, if I were game developer for a day, I'd fix facecamping by making generator times accelerate the longer the killer was alone within 30 meters of a hook. You stand 10m away from a survivor for 30 seconds, all other generators get completed faster. And for all those camping is sometimes a necessary strategy folks, think about this, it would have 0 impact in endgame.

I would still face camp even under your rule, cburton of 311. I would happily accept those terms and continue to prove to myself and others that face camping is love, and face camping is life.

  • @SuzuKR said:

Then you are the problem. If you have a problem with some part of the game, take it up with devs respectfully. If you take it out on the other players by disconnecting, suiciding on hook, AFKing, sandbagging, etc, you are the problem in that game.

Blatant cheater holding a game hostage? Sure. Game-breaking bug like being permanently stuck in a hill? Sure.

Because you dislike the map? Because you dislike the other side's build(s)? Because you dislike the other side's character(s)/cosmetic(s)? Because you dislike something that happened in the game (eg, downed early/flashlight saved/gens done quickly/etc)? Because of literally any other non-cheater/game-breaking bug reason? You are the problem.

There's a really, really easy solution if you hate facing a part of this game that badly. Don't queue up.

By DCing/suiciding/AFKing/sandbagging/etc, you are actively ruining this game for the other 4 players just because you are incapable of handling facing some part of this game. Sure, you paid for this game for your own fun and aren't responsible for others, blah blah blah. But guess what? If every single person gave up the second they faced a part of the game that wasn't how they wanted it, you would not be getting to play out any games either.

Want to take up what you see as an issue with devs respectfully? Sure, go for it. All the power to you. When you're in a game? Either suck it up buttercup, or don't queue up at all. If you care that little about the experience of anyone except yourself, go play a single player game and don't ruin the game for the people that are mature enough to play through a match they queued up for.

Fam, are you seriously telling people to "suck it up, buttercup" after you threw a temper tantrum about other people's conduct? You do not see the irony in that? Not even a little?

People should not be throwing games, absolutely. But they will not stop just because you complained about it. They do not care if they are a problem or not, I would HOPE that they are aware that they are the problem; but as we just demonstrated, not everyone is able to evaluate themselves objectively.

  • I love this game, absolutely. I would not be here if I did not. I have no idea why it took me so long to get into the game. I was warned of excessive toxicity and perhaps that turned me off as I have had enough of it coming from Overwatch. But those dps queue times had me searching for something else, especially considering there are no other hero shooters on console besides Paladins. And honestly? As much as people joke about DbD, it does not literally look or play like a mobile game as Paladins does. So I needed to swap genres and I love horror.

I actually tried to return to the FGC first, with Guilty Gear, but something about the asymmetrical was pulling me in. I really enjoy being the one against the many, I suppose. It reminds me of Overwatch, with how useless my teammates were, only this time... It was my effort alone that mattered. No one to drag me down.

There is a reason DbD stands above all others, and it is because it is the greatest. People can go and play Evil Dead or VHS for a week, that's fine, they will be back, or they will do as I did prior and find a new genre. Killer Clowns might be the secret sauce, you never know. But DbD will always be king, as long as they never lose sight of what makes it one of the best multi-player games of all time.
