I could hop on a game right now, take a hit for a survivor in chase, and they would go down in approximately twenty seconds anyway.

In that case I can only say one thing. Skill issue. Not on your part but on that survivor's part. The same could happen in a SWF. But because you'll probably play with people that are about as experienced as you, it's less likely. This is not a solo queue issue in that sense. Just poor matchmaking. These are also the kinds of survivors that will use their DS and still die a minute later. You cannot help someone that is killing themself (even if unintentional) by playing badly.

[...] M1 killers which people have lost the appeal to play as recently.

Can't say I noticed anything special in that regard. It's pretty much the same as always with the exception of Billy having a pretty high pick rate (which I'm all for) for me. M1 killers aren't all too popular, agreed. But that isn't a new development. They're simply undertuned (most of them anyway). I can imagine that the STBFL nerf isn't exactly helping this situation either. Especially since its only real issue remains, though it is weaker overall.

I use Bond + Open Handed as a survivor. That allows me make better informed decisions and enables easier bodyblocks. I don't think my survivor MMR is too high. I consider myself to be a pretty bad looper. But it works well enough. Obviously I will not bodyblock in every chase but should it be necessary, I'll be there. And I have seen many solo queue team mates do it too. I had a game against a Chucky not too long ago in which we bodyblocked him 3 times in one chase. That allowed us to get 3 people out.

AWWWWWW, they're nerfing STBFL? But my doctor....

I actually think it'll get the Calm Spirit nerf. Something will get added to it, seemingly a buff, but the conditions around it will be detrimental and benefit the killer in some capacity. Devs will act like it's a buff though.

Isn't calm spirit a decent perk? Haven't played for a while

It would be a pretty easy solution for both sides and I would like to see that too. Although, if this were to happen in end game as well, then there is absolutely no way for an killer to stop that survivor from escaping. Which means, they'll be more inclined to camp that survivor.

OTR could actually increase your movement speed (maybe 5-7%) with the same conditions as the endurance effect.

Maybe BT is lost in endgame? I mean, I feel like 9/10 times, if you're being camped at EGC, there's really no hope with getting away

  • @WolfyWood said:

Well first of all there's no such thing as a "free hit."

The only time that's applicable is under niche circumstances like Adrenaline baiting.

Endurance hits still have a steep cost to them. Not only do you have to stop any conspicuous action to mend. But you're also still injured afterwards.

Bodyblocking is also challenging for both sides to pull off unless its a building or chokepoint. So I don't think any changes are needed personally.

But you would already be injured, and the killer would probably go for the unhooker anyways, which means you have plenty of time to mend

  • @NerfDHalready said:

with ds getting its very much needed buff, is there any plans or intentions to address weaponizing anti-tunnel measurements like basekit bt and anti-tunnel perks; the cases where survivors take 1 or 2 free hits and force their value on non-tunneling killers?

Oh gosh, what r they doing to DS now?

  • @UndeddJester said:

There are odd occasions where I feel like a PC mouse player can turn around obstacles a little too much for free. I've seen some absolutely gnarly max range slice n dices ending in 180 spins around terrain that felt a little BS...

However for the most part Chucky is pretty fun to face, pretty atrong, while most feeling fair. I enjoy trying (and usually failing) to loop him... I feel like throwing a pallet helps me less than just running most of the time 😁

Literally my friend experienced this, he did a full 180 around chucky and chucky turned maybe 45 degrees, swung, and got a hit

  • @CLHL said:

Because spending the whole match holding M1 is extremely fun, while having 3 guaranted chases with the killer is ruining your horror game experience. It doesn't make any sense to you? Well, neither for you nor for anyone looking for an interactive experience.

I mean we all know DbD community is one of the worst.

Game has some issues and they need to be fixed but some people will cry about their losses and blame anything but their skills.

    Like every online multiplayer game?

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    1. You know killer will kick this gen with Pop, so it's better to finish it before this happen.
    2. Healing is waste of time thanks to BHVR. They nerfed healing to ground. It's pointless to heal if you are not dead on hook.
    3. BHVR nerfed boons into ground as well. And killers are rarely using hex totems. There is no point to cleanse totems.
    4. Chests are waste of time. Bringing item in lobby is better.
    5. This hardly happens unless it's last gen. If last gen is about 50 - 60% , it's smart to focus on gen and finish it.

Blame BHVR for current survivor play. They nerfed chase perks. They nerfed heal perks and med-kits. Boons are pointless and weak. Only gens left.

And all killers are tunnelling so hard, so it's better to finish gens before killer make someone out.

Self care is funny with bite the bullet, cause it can sometimes throw the killer off with the silence, or my I'm just low skill so it happens more often, lol

I play mostly 50/50 but never used MFT. Most survivors want to rely on perks instead of practicing. And according to the main post all of Myers perks are good. Huntresses perks are definetly overpowered. Never forget the devs nerfed the eruption meta which was justified and I feel like DH took five years but it must has been two months.

I will never understand people who defend perks like MFT and DH.

    Cause funny win button, lol

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

I love it when someone makes a post, and everyone else talks in it. Im'a wager OP doesn't return to defend. And this just became a troll bait thread.

  • @Alionis said:

Oh, but when survivors "whine and whine to the devs," as you so eloquently put it, killer perks never get nerfed? It doesn't take much searching around the forum or the wiki to find plenty of cases on both sides for perks receiving nerfs because the other side complained about them.

The haste isn't being taken away, it's just more conditional. You could at the very least make sure you're factual when you go on a rant. Rants don't carry any weight if the reason why you're ranting isn't even true.

What's the condition for the haste in MFT? When you are being chased? Lol

As much as I would love to see DBD 2, I know it's not coming even in the recent future.

But let's imagine it is... What are your expectations? Or what do you want to see in a sequel?

    Personally:

    1. First and foremost - Account progress. (Skins, levels, currency, etc...)
    2. Obviously - all characters from DBD, imported into DBD 2. (Licenses too)
    3. Updated engine. (Graphics, physics, etc...)
    4. Gameplay changes. (Side objects for survivors and killers, maybe even completely different main objectives)
    5. New stuff on the map, that survivors can use against killers. (On Nostromo map we've had some traps on the ship, that can be used to slow down killers)
    6. Secrets and easter eggs within maps.
    7. A continuation of the game's lore. (Stories about survivors and killers, or even Entity realm)

I love this game, so I want it to feel the same, even with all those "personal wants".

But not how Blizzard did with Overwatch 2... (If you know what I mean)

Talking about it can potentially help the Developers to get the idea of what it's community want from such a BIG announcement.

I know you gave out points, but even if they did something like "paint a picture on this canvas 5 times" (yeah yeah, ik, it's stupid, but it's the only thing that came to my mind and it still proves my point) what's to stop them from just making it skill check simulator again? And if they switch killer powers in DBD2, why not just do it in 1?

Just like Overwatch, they didn't need to make a sequel, but they did, and they just did balance changes and new heroes that could've been implemented in OW1

  • @appleas said:

    Bruh, that is hilarious 😂😂😂

Just like every other team game, you put your fate in the people on your team, and sometimes it is garbage, and that's just how the cookie crumbles, it's out of your control, so I say it's whatever

Every killer has some limitations in his ability, sometimes they are appropriate, but sometimes they are not, and one could safely do without them (for example, I will call Michael with his limited evil).

What do you think without which limitations / elements restraining the mechanic (for example, the fact that the protection from re-sleeping that a survivor receives after using an alarm clock protects survivors not only from passive falling asleep, but also falling asleep through a hit) in the abilities of which killers could be safely dispensed with?

That limit for Micky is only because of afk survivors and Micky farming off them

I don't agree with the limitation, I just know there's a cap there for a reason

    "Anything greater than a 2K" in this instance means a 3k or 4k, not a 2k + 1 hook.

A 3K means you've won because you've prevented the survivors from opening the exits via their main objective.

A 2K is a loss/draw, because 2 survivors can only escape if they fully complete their objective.

A 3K is perfectly sufficient for a win. The final survivor gets a coin flip escape which doesn't count for MMR, while you gain positive MMR regardless.

Unless you're trying for adept or a challenge, you don't need the 4K. Conversely, there's nothing wrong with trying for a 4K either, maybe you're trying to challenge yourself. Most likely though people try to win more when theyre already winning, for the dopamine.

Or y'know, people try to win because they enjoy this game and want to get better? Although, I guess I don't really know if that falls under dopamine

Also, as a devoted member of the Lightborn cult, I can say I rarely see games where I would win if I had another perk instead of Lightborn. Either I win anyway, or lose so much it doesn't matter what perks I run.

I dont even understand your question. Or how your first question is linked to your second question.

Nobody is asking for Killers to let Survivors complete Gens.

Your saying if the killer wins then they should be happy, so if I get anything greater than 2k, I should just let you escape and don't even try for the 4k because

"The only time I go for the 4K or slug for it is if I have a challenge which requires Kills, if I go for an Adept-Achievement "

I don't know how to properly quote certain lines

There is a unhook delay for your rescuer when you do that animation so knock it off or die in 1st hook.

And the annoying "uh uh uh uh uh" sounds you make, especially Rebecca, are enough to send ya, they really are.

I think it is quite common to say that a 2K is a Draw and anything above it a win for the Killer. And IMO especially if it is a Hatch Escape, the Killer wins, because the Survivors did not manage to open the Gates.

And personally, I dont care too much. If I get a 3K and the Survivor gets lucky and finds the Hatch before me, I still win. And if some Survivor thinks they won, because I was nice to not slug for the 4K... It is what it is.

The only time I go for the 4K or slug for it is if I have a challenge which requires Kills, if I go for an Adept-Achievement or if the last Survivor somehow pissed me off. E.g. by not being helpful for their team or acting toxic. But then I usually give Hatch to the person I slugged, because it is not their fault that they teammate was such a dick that I slugged the second to last-Survivor.

So if the killer gets 2 kills and 1 hook to make it 7/12 hooks and that's a win for killers.....then what? Do I just wait for you to complete 3-4 gens because I steam rolled u?

  • @jamally093 said:

Okay, so let's paint a happy little picture. we have a big bad Blight now he has a few friends, a Dwight and a Zarina, because everyone needs a friend. Now let's put some generators, and four of them have lights on meaning one left before Dwight, and Zarina have to go back home.

The Blight doesn't want that, so he puts the Zarina down for a little nap. Though she split her tomato juice on the ground, we don't make mistakes, just happy accidents.

Now the Dwight wants to wake Zarina up from her little nap, but he can't as Blight wants to make sure he can send Dwight and Zarina to the Entity isn't that nice.

With one generator left and two of their other teammates already seeing the Entity, Dwight needs to stay quiet and hidden with Zarina, also knowing this.

So Dwight hides behind this little rocks and trees the match goes one for a solid few minutes with Dwight waking Zarina up because she might not be happy with him just trying to survive because the Dwight is actually solo q.

In the end Dwight scratches his head and wonders why do people slug when two people are left since it just makes the match longer then it should.

I hope you had a nice time painting with me today.

Just wait for her to die and go for hatch, you're gonna basically going to lose anyways unless Zarina is a GOD tier looper

Dyspraxia is a learning difficulty that is not as hard on people as autism but is not know as much as autism and dyslexia and ADHD. It affects people in different ways it can affect peoples verbal skills not so much me it can also affect you physically. It is scaled mine isn't as bad as some peoples. Some people can be extremely clumsy and some people may have to live in a bungolow due to falling down stairs I think. Mine is minor so I could work past it but in school I had to use a laptop and I got some learning support. Not as much as people that have it worse or people with dyslexia and autism. I think autism does deserve more help though. Dyspraxia is not known by many unfortunatly. I was lucky and was diagnosed at a young age though so I could get help improving my balence. It does also mean that some people with it don't like noisy environments I think if I remember correctly. Some of this info might be wrong google might have better answers.

Thanks for the clarification, makes quite a lot of sense now

Both works fine with out, with the first one you chase number 2 (3,4) before picking up.

Number 2, i run that on my trapper and im surprised how many downs i get because people value their flashlight over the danger from starstruck, mad grid could also work on this, but thats 3 perks, but then we could go all in and get Agitation or Iron Grasp too. - but it will suck if no one is flashlight saving (you could ofc. go for basement hooks).

It'd be awesome if mad grit had no cooldown at all, even after getting a hit, lol

  • @Seraphor said:

Because some of us are playing a horror fanservice game instead of an e-sport.

Some of us are here to have fun rather than to sweat our asses off and then complain about everything.

If I want to play on Nostromo, because I'm a huge Alien fan, and because it has some of the coolest map interactions, then I want to bring an offering to do so. It has nothing to do with sweating for the win. But even if it did, why should that be a problem? Oaks, Coins, Reagents, Blueprints all exist, these offer you an advantage, that's what your offering slot is for you to spend on. Map offerings having the ability to grant you an advantage is no different.

If there's an issue with that, then the issue isn't offerings, it's the maps themselves. Fix the cause, not the symptom.

Inverted offerings wouldn't be any less abusable. All you've need is a SWF to veto Lerys, Gideon, RPD and Midwich and now you have no indoor maps available. Now the SWF can see the killer at all times, and any stealth killer is screwed. Meanwhile the killer could veto Garden of Joy but that still leaves about 10 other survivor sided maps to pick from. This is 100% a nerf for killers and solo's, without touching SWF at all, despite the fact that 99% of map offering complaints are from killers fed up of Garden of Joy and Springwood.

Inverting offerings isn't a solution to anything, it nukes the freedom of choice map offerings are designed for, without fixing the issues players have with them in any way. Map bans would have all the downsides and none of the upsides (the actual purpose of the offerings). Worst possible idea.

And every time this topic comes up and spawns a dozen comments about turning map offerings into map bans, and patting themselves on the back for their ingenious, novel, yet totally ill-thought-out suggestion, I can't help but wonder what backwards universe I just fell into.

The hook offerings can be a detriment sometimes if you use them though

  • @Vanishlord said:

May I ask what dyspraxia is?

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

No, it's not what you're thinking. I won't say it's embarrassing or poor sportsmanship or anything like that.

I am an Aspie. That means I have Asperger's, now known as a High-Functioning form of Autism. One of the, let's say, "quirks" that can come with Autism is a sensitivity to certain stimuli. For example, some find being touched to be overstimulating which can cause distress, anxiety, or even physical pain.

In my case, I am sensitive to certain types of auditory stimuli. It's usually not an issue; I hear a notification blip and it's no big issue. But when a notification is spammed constantly, much like the old macros for flashlights, it's... hard to put into words but feels awful. It's like someone is drilling into my skull.

In those instances, I sometimes need to take a break because I have a headache. It sounds so petty to the regular person that might merely find it annoying but no, it causes me physical pain.

So please, I politely ask that you refrain from spamming notifications. I don't care if you want to tbag at the exit gate, just don't do something that can hurt the other side.

I just did this the other day to get a PH attention... I hope that wasn't you, I was a Kate and my friend was playing pink biscotti...or was it the clown outfit? Either way, if I did cause this I am terribly sorry

Unlike most people on the forums, I mostly play the side I complain about. Since everyone is so desperate to defend their favorite broken killer, I'll leave some sugesstions.

Nurses lunge range is reduced by 75%. This would make the Nurse have to be more accurate, and would make doding easier.

Nurses fatigue is increased to 1.5 second per blink. This would allow you to get away easier, even after a hit.

Nurse cannot blink through pallets. This would require her to think about whats in her way, instead of just blinking & winning.

Nurses blinks recharge every 4 seconds.

These changes wouldn't "gut" her, but would make her playable against.

I will respond to some of the posts here:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561739#Comment_3561739

Personally, I would love to see SWF gutted, but it can't be... it would massively reduce the playerbase.

Map-wide Bond along with kindered, then nerf survivors from there? Of course killers like Nurse, Blight would have to be slightly toned down before this. Maybe even basekit map-wide deadlock...

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561725#Comment_3561725

Yep, Nurse requires much less skill than Blight, Wesker, and even Ghost face, but still preforms better than them.

...75%???? Holy moly, you absolutely hate this killer if you want to plummet her into the ground

  • @MikeStev said:

They did rework Nurse power and change her strong addon.

Don't use lightborn: you will never get used to counter flash saves doing this.

Many people said the basic: hug your face into a wall to avoid a flash save. Always do a fake (stand right on top of the downed survivor, pretend to pick up but don't do that); some survivors will get hushed, get out of their hiding then you can hit them and do the pickup.

Some killers like the Knight/SM/Trapper/Twins/Singularity can use their powers to deny or hinder the flash save.

And the most important: think that if someone is waiting for a flashlight and you make them go down, its a enormous pressure you get -> 2 people downed and you everyone needs to leave gens to get saves and heals.

You don't have to get used to it if you always use lightborn

  • @[Deleted User] said:

They don't happen very often, but when they do they're really awful. Even if I face a wall while picking someone up, a teammate somehow blinds me from behind and I drop. And even if I slug multiple survivors, the remaining survivors are somehow right there to blind me when I pick one up.

I had a game yesterday against 4 flashlight SWF and I was playing as carefully as I could and got blinded on every single one of the like 8 pickups I got that match. it took them a LONG time to do gens, but it didn't matter because I wasn't getting a single hook.

Lightborn on all killers 24/7 cause funny, lol

Unless you’re SWF, you can’t guarantee that no other survivor will cleanse totems though..

Literally, every game I play and I look for totems, I always find them, there is really nothing to worry about

I played a Pyramid head that literally placed a survivor in the basement, camped upstairs with all their trails around the exits. Waited. Survivor unhooks, hits them on the stairs to kill endurance, survivor hits trail and screams, killer then hits and downs them and drags them back to the basement.

Super effective tool they've added. Just a new way for toxic players to make people miserable.

Why did the survivor try to unhook themselves IN THE BASEMENT, I would've hopped they didn't escape

I mean, I get that they wanted to fix the vertical camping progression. But with that the Basement is basically free to camp with ease. Which makes it even more frustrating.

I mean, trapper and hag, as rare as they r, would just become completely unviable to use, kill their entire kit
