He was changed for bad reason. People called him weak and there was a lot posts to buff him.
BHVR needed to give him some buffs and some QoL, not full rework.
-
Hopefully they will bring old version with good buffs. That's what we need.
Also his teleport power should stay and it should be buffed as well. I don't understand why he can't teleport to finished gens, we already got a lot better teleport killers. That won't make him broken.

They change is add-on, and it was not the case in the PTB, this add-on is now useless, who gonna play Clown with only one bottle?
And about sable, people ask for some tweaks/buff about the Alan Wake perks and they do nothing, here, they just give a little buff
I don't say 'look, you are crying but survivor got a lot of thing" I'm just saying that they get some bones to eat
Can someone talk here without having people coming to attack you? Just be calm?
I am pretty calm actually but i am just not eating that the survivors are getting something. Because they did not.

OTR provides you exactly 0 value against a tunneling Killer.
I got tunneled yesterday by a Spirit. She hit me in the perfect second after the Unhook and my endurance was gone instantly. So even if I would have had Off the Record, I would have had like 1 second of Endurance, at best. (Which is the big flaw of modern "Anti-Tunnel" (because you can hardly call them that...) measurements - they all resolve around the same status effect and can all be removed by just hitting the Survivor once)
That's why OTR is perfect perk for bodyblock when killer just want to chase someone else but terrible perk when killer actually tunnel.
Hopefully BHVR will buff DS for good, so op and other killers will tunnel less.
-
@NerfDHalready said:
can you all remind me again how i control whether the ds user will block my way or not please?
Unlike OTR, survivor can't get guaranteed value from bodyblock. Because simply killer can get them down and leave them on ground. But OTR is giving you 80 seconds duration for block killer and killer can't get you down unless they decide to chase you.

Don't forget they destroy pinky finger from clown (with a buff with is bottle)
And the perk from sable got buff and that's nice
Clown's Pinky Finger add-on did not change at all? Clowns buffs never intended to buff this add-on, so they just brought it back to normal version. So nothing changed about it.
Sable perks buffed from meh level to meh level.
SC + Botany is still stronger than this basement heal perk.
Deliverance is still stronger than unhook yourself from basement hooks perks.
And her last perk is still terrible. You are removing 50% charge ( because you will only want to finish 5 gens, so 20% charge on other 2 gens is just waste ) for 2 minutes. And you are staying broken for rest of the match. This perk is still terrible bad.
But yeah, lets act like BHVR actually gave survivors something useful with this chapter which is not true.

Survivors are in a “good spot” with a *40% win rate..?
*likely lower, this doesn’t count games with a DC, hatch, or games that are reported.
That's 40% is not win-rate btw. It's just escape rate. So it included hatch escapes, mercy escapes by killers. Win-rate is probably lower, that's why BHVR shared escape rates instead of win-rates.
-
BHVR just so scared to make even decent survivor perks. I stopped to hope for any good survivor perks but they are not even doing decent perks.
Survivors are getting garbage perks. Barely new content while killers are taking all buffs, new content, new fun perks etc.
It's fun times to play survivor when devs barely cares about your role. They just so scared of if killers complain about anything. I don't know why they are ignoring survivor complainings tho.

Playing both sides really helps. Encouraging that may be a more feasible solution than BHVR creating tutorials. If someone is having problems against a Killer playing that Killer does wonders for their counterplay.
The problem is here, maybe they don't like to play killer and they don't wanna use money / shards for killers.

It's crazy to me as someone who mains her, that I can easily deal with her by myself and her condemned because I have enough knowledge about it and yet, teammates give up/get condemned out because they refuse to interact with her power.
There seriously needs to be better explanations of changes/general gameplay mechanics of killers easily available so players can figure out why they keep dying so easily to it.
That's seriously BHVR's fault lol. Their tutorials are terrible bad because it almost telling nothing.
Also it's really hard to follow all killer changes.
For example, i did not know guard is removing when you start unhook against Knight. That's because i am almost never seeing this guy and i was on break when he released. So it's really hard to know things like that. Especially if killer is rare, so you can't learn.
BHVR should add tutorial videos about each killer into game. And this video should tell the player how to play them and how to play against them. This would be nice QoL.
-
This map is awful. Especially if killer decide to hold 3 - 4 gens. And no, anti 3-gen only fixes the hostage issue, killer still can hold 3 gen and get chases.

Current Sadako feels so weak unless survivors don’t know what they’re doing. Which is what caused her nerf in the first place, not her actually being too good. I miss the global condemn Sadako version. That was the first time she was actually fun and good.
Except her first version, Sadako always felt like that.
Survivors don't know how to play against her. So she is getting high kill-rate. But when you face with the team who knows how to play against her, you are just powerless.
As you see in my screenshot, i was only one who countered her power. I never sit on gen if TV is active, i took tapes, i removed my stacks. But my team was clueless.
And when i play Sadako, results are not different. I am playing her pretty often but only few teams know what to do. It's really crazy.
-
It's good perk but it's only for one survivor. So unlike CoH, all survivors needs to run it.
Plus you can't use it everywhere, so you need to run to basement which is very dangerous place to be when you are injured.
So i think this perk is fine as it is. I probably will use with Botany for faster healing but this 2 perks slots. So i guess that's fair.

That's not true at all. Some killers are more complicated than others and harder to play against for low mmr survivors.
Unknown is one of them.
-
When i see this map, it always killer who hits you behind pallets. I don't know if i am just unlucky but that's the case .... It always Huntress, Xeno, Nemesis etc. Loops have small walls and not so much vaults. So pretty much it's lose =)

I am gonna test it myself whenever chapter drops. Hopefully it does.
Sure, killer will target me for this but at least they won't know about the other perk. They will just think i am crazy survivor who likes the challange.
-
I am curious if it is working with No Mither. If it does, then it will be fairly decent combo. High risk but high reward.
-
Unknown will be stomp new survivors, that's for sure. Like how BHVR thought this counterplay will be fine when low mmr survivors are running straight and not looking behind.
I hope i am wrong but i already see it: This killer will stomp every low mmr teams while on high levels it will be joke. Yeah i am not fan of this killer.

At that rate, you could ask what the point of playing against any killer is, especially ones who 3-gen.
Non of them is effective as like SM.
SM is building stacks on survivors which they can never remove until they lose health state by full stacks. So she does not need to do anything special. Just put drones on 3 gens, keep patrol this area, slowly build stacks on survivors and the moment comes get them all down.
Anti 3-gen is barely doing anything because she does not need to hostage people in game anymore. She can kill faster than before.

Sadly Peanits confirmed at some point that it is intentional. So yeah, a Dev thinks it is totally fine if you get auto-failed Skill Checks when you get up from a Gen.
Devs believed OoO was fine too. They also said OoO makes the user dies most times. It took years maybe but they finally saw the problem and fixed it.
So best we can do is voicing this annoying problem and hoping for fix.

I mean I'll take that trade. faster base regression for no skill-check miss. I might actually considering kicks gens at base-kit.
Killers already got this trade with 5% regression with gen kicking and plus removing gen tapping. Now it's time to fix issue by survivor-side.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3669017#Comment_3669017
400% slower regression for kicking a gen is weak base-kit game delay. missed skill-checks is only good base game delay mechanic for killer but no good player misses any skill-checks. This is only mechanic that makes survivors miss skill-checks. As I stated in my first post, it is entirely avoidable.
And it should be removed. Killers should get slowdown with their own actions, not from survivor mistakes. And in this case, it's not even survivor mistake because it can happen randomly.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668899#Comment_3668899
i think it is streamer problem. streamer like to look at chat so listening for sound cue is too precise if your distracted. I don't think I ever blow up gens as survivor unless i am using hyperfocus. it is so detrimental. better then all the killer regression perks besides maybe pain res.
if they removed this mechanic, no experienced player would miss skill-checks.
And why experienced player should miss skill check if it's not their fault?
You left the gen to counter PR + DMS, skill check happened.
You left the gen because killer was coming to your direction, skill check happened.
You left the gen to go for hook save, skill check happened.
There is a lot cases survivors are getting penalty for no reason. And no, it's not streamer problem. It's survivor problem. Killer should not get free regression. And survivor should not be punished for no reason.
-
Not really.
Boring killer. Bad perks for both sides.
I am not gonna drop Kate, Mikaela or Jill for Sable.
Map looks so much killer-sided, so i am not gonna love it for sure
So it's bad chapter for me. I am hoping next one is cool.

What would your thoughts be on counting as a missed skillcheck if the killer hits you during that skill check?
The scenario this would matter is, for example if a killer comes to grab you on a 99'd gen, but gets rewound by the server to instead m1 you, but as you run, you get a skillcheck. If you hit a great, you still finish the generator in the killers face while running away, even though you got grabbed on the killers screen.
I think counting a hit as a missed skillcheck makes this fair in almost all scenarios.
I think if killer hit, it's fair to make it missed skill check. Or maybe just cancel the skill check.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
I don't understand why this is ever complained mechanic. you can dodge skill-checks by listening to sound warning prior. This was a technique called "Ruin Gen-tapping" where you could ignore ruin skill-checks. It is your own fault for exploding the generator. The only time that skill-check explodes are unavoidable is hex:lullaby 5 because there is no warning sound to go off gen. It is simply random.
There is a lot cases where you need to leave gen and it's just happens.
Also why it is bothers you when people complaining about annoying mechanic? If it is fine for you, good. But can you let people voice their problems please?
-
@Caiman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668870#Comment_3668870
But then I could just ignore skillchecks by letting go the moment I hear the sound effect warning.
That's why it should work like Overcharge. If you leave the gen, you will still get skill check. If you miss, you will lose 10% progress. That would be fair for both sides.
-
@Crowman said:
The solution is survivors do gens while someone is being chased. Someone being tunneled out at 5 gens is the fault of the survivors, because it's already possible for 2-3 gens to be completed by the end of the first chase.
It depends on the map, rng and the killer's skill.
You can get down before gens even be finished. But yeah, let's act like all first chases are ending with 3 gen pop.
-
I mean if we are gonna nerf him, that nerf should make him get lower tier. Making hin 4.4 m/s won't fix anything about him. I was hoping some add-on nerfs but BHVR still gave him very strong add-ons.
So i am hoping next update will get his kit a bit down.

An objective besides hooks would be interesting. There had already been some suggestions for side objectives on the survivors side, so they have something to go by but for killer I find it a bit harder to come up with something.
Thanks for your input though. I'll give it some thought.
Side objectives will be always ignored. So i think both sides needs additional main objectives. That would give natural slowdown for both sides. If killer decide to tunnel someone out, he would ignore his other objective which would make him lose the game. Same for survivors.
But i don't know what type objectives would be. For survivors, actually it's not too hard. Maybe make them search some gas for repair gens. For killers? I really have no idea.
-
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668203#Comment_3668203
From my experience the mistakes that usually end up game ending on survivors are more like healing in a bad spot, grouping up on a gen and getting found or a poorly timed unhook. I have not seen quite so many times when my survivor team mates would do a side objective, which resulted in us losing (as a killer it's usually a bit hard to tell when that happens, so I dare not guess how many times this is the case). Though, I suppose you play more survivor than me, so I respect your opinion on the matter.
Out of curiosity, do you have an idea how to balance this out? I have thought about this a bit but so far I could not come up with a solution that would please both sides. Longer gen times aren't the way to go and more meta perks that act as side objectives could help but they wouldn't prevent the extremes, so I'm not sure how effective this would end up being.
We would need to limit the effectiveness of tunneling, no doubt (possibly proxy camping as well). But tweaking only one side would not have the desired outcome. The more I think about it, the more I believe that our short-sightedness both with limiting certain strategies and perks as well as map reworks are at least partially to blame for this situation.
The only way to fix this, changing objectives. I am not saying remove hooks and generators. But add more objectives for both sides and ofcourse balance numbers around it.
This would give them chance for new perk types as well.
Ofcourse i have no idea what type objectives we would get but i am sure devs would figure out since it's their job after all.

Don't use dramaturgy to gain items. This perk will protect you from injury if used correctly while in the chase. If you use this perk for looping, you can understand more clearly what I mean.
And that's how i use it tho, item is just bonus value.

I'm talking about this based on my own gaming experiences. You may not agree with me, and you've stated that. I wrote something about the exposed effect of Dramaturgy above. I agree with you about staying healthy. I've been using this perk since the day it came out and I haven't seen anything missing from the old DH (it's even stronger than that in some areas). I think it is the most underrated perk of the game if used in the right place. If you remove Sprint Burst or Lithe for once (whatever perk do you use now) and put this perk on, I think you will agree me.
I am using it pretty often because i love to get free item. I curse the perk when it gives me green key but most times, i love this perk. But i still disagree with that it's being strongest exhaustion perk. Lithe and SB are still stronger.
-
@Xernoton said:
Agreed. It often feels like everything comes down to one crucial moment. One bad chase or one bad move on the survivors' side. Like both sides cannot win the game at a normal pace anymore but only if they progress so fast, that their opponent cannot keep up.
That's why many of my games are so short and I am for the first time in 2 years beginning to doubt my abilities to perform well without slowdown perks. I used to be able to play in different ways to change the pace of the game but lately it has not worked out for me.
On the other hand, survivors cannot exactly play a slower game either. Because then someone is tunneled out early and they find themselves with one person dead at 3 gens remaining. So both sides need to be slowed down a bit. Unfortunately that is always guaranteed to be tied to the gen repair time, which bears the problem that longer gens aren't exactly more fun for survivors.
This is really not easy to fix. We had seen a meta where both sides tried to slow their opponent (pre 6.1.0) but we do not need that same meta to return either. Not that it would work with the current gen regression perks anyway.
I totally agree with you.
When i play killer, i know one mistake will cost me the game. One long chase and 3 gens already done.
Same goes for survivor. When i see my teammate is working on totem or searching chest, i know it's game over. And funny thing, it's usually lose.
-
Dramaturgy is not best exhaustion perk. I hardly disagree here with you.
First you need to be healthy. Second it's barely gives you distance. Third it has risk to being exposed and one-down hit, happened to me.
Best exhaustion perk is either Lithe or SB.
I also disagree with you about BL. It's so much stronger than Smash Hit. If map has main building, many maps have, BL making looping so much better and more effective.
Smash Hit is good perk but many killers have m2 killers and easily playing around pallets. So it's really hard to activate it. That's why this perk is rare. So BL is so much stronger than Smash Hit.
-
Honestly roar should be moved. But it's iconic and part of her personality. So maybe make her roar when she hit survivor or miss?
Yeah, that would make her anti-loop a bit better.

Also, i would be willing to record some matches and put it to a test.
Give me a killer to play, and a build that you see as "an anti-gen meta build" i can even do the one you mentioned. I'll play a few matches, maybe 10 or so with that killer and build. We can record the matches and see how it does. Then give me another build that doesn't use any gen defense perks that you think would be viable on that killer and i'll play 10 more matches, and see how it goes. See if we get a similar result.
We can also put in some parameters as well like "If someone DCs it doesn't count, if someone kills themself on hook before 6 hooks it doesn't count etc." to remove more variables.
That's actually not bad idea. If you can open topic about, i would like to join as well. I am not sure if i can record my games, my PC is not good enough but i would like to test myself.

Slowdown perks are the only reliable perks, because of distortion and calm spirit. Why should killers bother running tracking perks, if survivors can just bypass them? GE, PR, Corrupt, and Pop are all reliable perks, that survivors can't easily bypass, so of course they are going to be popular.
Distortion and Calm Spirit are not that popular tho. Both perks did not even make in top 10

With this current anti-gen meta, Prove Thyself and BNP nerfed, gen kick buffed and 'gen tapping' removed gen's repair time should be reverted to 80 secs at least.
Repairing 7-8 gens (if you get there because in most cases you all die at 1 gen done) per game playing M1 simulator is not contemplated.
I am hoping to see some nerfs to killer in overall honestly. Gen meta is so strong but yet, they are also tunnelling for make games even easier.
I don't think this will continue like that. I am expecting some good nerfs for them. The question is when.

Would be fine but killer basekit is so strong that you don't give up anything to run four slowdowns.
Still think Eruption meta was better at this point. Was way more extreme but at least survivors had a ton of broken stuff too + no maps were gutted yet.
Eruption meta was actually the worst meta ever we faced but yeah you are right. Maps did not nerfed that much and survivors had strong perks too.
Now killers have super strong anti-gen meta while survivors having pretty mid meta. Thankfully they did not nerf Lithe and SB yet, so survivors having some chance.

His addons are not as busted as his old ones. Yeah they still need some more adjusting (and he is also on the roadmap still for changes anyway) but I disagree with saying he wasn't nerfed.
Just because they are not busted like old ones, this does not mean they are good. His base-kit is still S tier and devs decided to feed it with very strong add-ons.
If that means his base-kit will be nerfed, i am fine with that. But i doubt. Probably April update will buff his kit since they nerfed his add-ons from S+ tier to S tier.
