  • I seem to recall a book in the late 80s or early 90s from the perspective of a Hunter who was after the wendigo. This iteration of the creature was a flying thing. Seemed like in the end the hunter won but while towing it with the boat, a croc went for the carcass and he fell in and was attacked instead.

i also seem to remember an iteration of a flying wendigo that flew so fast that when it grabbed a victim, one of those victims were screaming about their burning feet due to the speeds.

    Probably the same book.

you know, I think I read this book to my kid in the 80s after thinking about it. I think it was a short story in a book of scary stories.

im old, give me a break.

i think I’m mixing up two different stories. lol. My memory has become bad. It was like 35ish years ago.

  • I love the skins. Loved Iron Maiden. That dredge skin is freaking amazing but I’m not paying those ######### prices.

  • MM is one of my more chosen killers just to have some fun with. The limited stalk meter is outdated for sure.

  • It works best on indoor maps of course. Hope you enjoy it.

  • Yeah it feels punishing sometimes. If there’s a central gen that survivors start on early and killer pathing takes you through there a lot, especially if you’re using brutal or something, it can happen more than you’d expect. Perks like nowhere to hide and eruption add extra incentive to kick just add to the issue. Surge can really push that limit quickly on maps like the game or midwich.

it could have been handled a bit better because punishing a killer with certain perks or perk combos seems like a poor decision.

never mind having something cool happen like having the entity move gens or something. Just punish the killer by blocking a gen.

  • @OrangeBear said:

I also think killers that are sparing survivors are a big problem with the data too. The kill rate would be higher if they didn't or couldn't, but by how much?

I think survivors killing themselves on first hook is a problem also. Which do you see more often, a killer letting someone go or a teammate killing on first hook? Those games with three survivors at 4 or 5 gens don’t usually do well.

  • hysteria, dark devotion, hex plaything and trail or torment. ToT can be swapped out with hex retribution for a touch of auras and a bit of extended oblivious but you know how hexes go

sometimes I will use nemesis and furtive chase due to the interchange of oblivious and the obsession change out

your traps count towards the survivors losing a health state on hysteria and dark devotion

i run it with Bear oil and Bloody Coil although you can run Lengthened Jaws if you want to help prolong healing times and are good at catching survivors in your traps.

like I said though, it’s all for meme time fun.

  • Hatch is fine. I have a build or two for keys that are fun. Same with maps.

  • @Adamant_Tepig said:

Title question is pretty self-explanatory. These can be add-ons that are good, bad, or just plain memes.

My own guilty pleasure is Trapper's Bear Oil - being able to set silent traps and sometimes get them to work mid-chase never stops being entertaining for me.

I love doing a meme silent build on trapper.

  • Looks like multiple bodies mended together. The primary set of eyes make the portion of that face look like it’s wearing a skin mask.

Then I have no idea how I've not got a full heal from a brown medkit. It happened fairly recently. I didn't hit great skillchecks but it still fell just short of a full heal.

No idea but even with sloppy, you get a full heal. It’s just slower.

Best shot I could take of it. Its face seems to have alternating shifts with where body parts are when it attacks, as if its trying to mimick something human but is failing miserably at it. Definitely is a skinwalker or at least very inspired by one no doubt about it

I paused the video a few times during the attack, and my wife pointed something out. There is a frame before the pic you posted that shows what looks like two or maybe three mouths. One mouth was pointed straight up, the other was to the left with what appears to be two other eyes that are different than the pair in the of you show. To the right of all that almost like like the back of another head.

it reminds me of the viral strain in that 80s movie leviathan that actively combines bodies. There are some good screen shots

  • I love playing artist. I love the cross map sniping. My issue with her is multilevel maps screw her over pretty bad. Also, lockers. Kinda bs.

i hate going against dredge so I don’t play as dredge.

  • It’s the bear from Annihilation. 😂

  • It seems a bit underwhelming.

Not so great for ppl with hearing issues like myself.

  • surge definitely hits the limit pretty quick.

I experienced the new anti 3 gen feature in action yesterday (a Legion match on RPD). The Legion are a great killer to test this feature out because forcing Survivors to be near to each other by holding a 3 gen and winning the battle of attrition is really the only thing they excel at (they have several add-ons to help with this: Filthy Blade, Fuming Mixtape and Frank's Mixtape). They are a very weak Killer, otherwise.

RPD is (or at least used to be) a very good map for Legion. It's relatively small and often spawns close together and easy to defend gens. In this match, I got two in the main hall and a couple in nearby rooms.

This was a close game against a flashlight squad that could have gone either way. They played exactly as you might have expected, making far too many flashlight/sabo/body blocking attempts and it cost them the win. I think I would have lost against a more gen focused team. They had 2 gens almost ready to pop and as you can see from this image, I had already burned through all my regression events on this gen (luckily I had secured my first kill just in time):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7UB2AX3Q0ZA5/2024020223224800-a8f689a4f1f4b13d795abcbd615ffd9a.jpg

Here's what I've learned so far:

    • The 3 genning strat has definitely been nerfed. But it's still possible to defend a 3 gen even if you can't regress a gen anymore.
    • It feels more important than ever to secure an early kill, now that I Know I won't be able to fallback on defending a 3 gen situation.
    • Surge has been nerfed with this update. Hitting multiple gens in a small area is what it does best, but maybe not so much now. It was scary how quickly it burned through all my regression events on a gen. I'll probably keep using it, but I think plenty of other Killers will opt more for passive slowdown or gen blocking now.
    • It has impacted "normal" Killer game play for me. This time I won, but I might have to rethink my strategy if I start losing games. Overall, I'd say it's a nerf to Killer (with gen tapping gone and extra regression as a fair compensation).

I had a match on RPD with pyramid head running surge, brutal, eruption and nowhere to hide. I burned through regression events so fast and I was not guarding any of the gens. By the time they had two gens left, I had three gens blocked from any further regression events. Surge definitely took a hit with the new anti 3 gen, especially on multilevel maps.

  • I like versing him. I don’t see the issue. Going up against him keeps me on my toes. Not a dull match by any means compared to some other killers.

it’s funny, I hate going against wesker so often but ppl were always saying he’s fun to go against and to play as. I hated him on both sides. Love going against billy and playing as Billy

  • I liked calm spirit. I didn’t use it a lot but it came in handy when it was needed. Didn’t always need it when it was equipped. Seems like they took a dump on a situational, somewhat less used, perk.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

So let me see if I get this straight.

You brought a build 100% centered around damaging/kicking gens, and specifically the two perks that, by design, consume multiple 'regression event' charges per use.

You then used up all of your regression event charges because of your perk choices.

    You won the game.

You're looking for buffs so you can win easier next time?

Maybe, just maybe, there's some room to change your build here. It's not gen kick meta anymore.

I was stating how easy, and somewhat funny, it is to hit 8 regression events with little kicking and not guarding a 3 gen or intentionally protecting a three gen. Multilevel maps like rcpd or the game are susceptible to the new system with just two perks. Just an observation

at no point did I ask for a change. Like I stated, they were still able to get 4 gens done even with the regression, which possibly points out that I was roaming around and not specifically protecting a three Gen setup. The match was a good match with no certainty of either side’s victory until almost the very end. They made an error on one gen that was blocked to me by never going back to finish it out. They had a strong possibility of winning but it just didn’t happen. I’m not at high mmr or anything.

it was supposed to be a light hearted comment pointing out that a killer can easily hit 8 regression events without overly trying and operating with two gen perks. For whatever reason, you decided I was asking for a change and decided to make a rude comment about maybe, just maybe changing my build I use for mobility on p-head. I understand ppl like to attack each other on this forum, but I was relating an experience on a match with a no thought build that allows for a ‘little time waste’ build and chasing survivors. This was not supposed to be a negative discussion but comments like yours are why discussions devolve into negative interactions between strangers. I’m sure you’re a great person with good contributions to the people in your life but your comment was not needed.

  • Yeah it’s a thing apparently. I did a daily for hag. Closed out afterward and Billy was waiting on me when i loaded back up. I thought it was odd. I noticed it a couple more times.

  • Grim embrace, merciless storm, thrilling tremors, and deadlock.

  • Well it’s funny. I kept hearing that sound running surge and eruption. Had no idea wth was going on. So kick gen, down a survivor in range, surge and eruption = spike warning. Sounds fair. 😉

  • Trapper was for the longest. I still enjoy playing him but the lighter maps and sparse grass took away a lot of his power.

i play a wide range of killers now. Not really great with any of them but good with several.

  • Mention killer “hookers”.

    you know….…

    ….. because of the hooks.

I've only ever played solo but I have fond memories of my team mates all coming to collect me to join them in a hatch escape. I mean, I get why hatch was reworked and I'm not saying it shouldn't have been. Just that I don't recall being left behind by swfs, which was nice.

You had friendlier swfs than I usually did. There was also the fact that some survivors would stop doing anything other than lingering around hatch when it came to only two survivors left. It made for less than lustrous gameplay.

  • Hatch screwed a lot of solos playing with a two or three man team. They would pop the hatch and throw the solo under the bus.

  • I’ve played one game this year. It turned out to be against a 4 man bully squad running headon among other mess. It goes both ways.

  • I wish I could turn off most of the characters dialogue. I really only enjoy chucky’s.

  • Too Old For This #########: you lay down to take a nap. If woken by the killer, you are exhausted for the rest of the match. Once awoken from your nap prematurely: while being chased, you weave a tapestry of profanity so intricate that the killer becomes hesitant of their intentions. Whenever the killer hits you, their hit recovery is increased to 6 seconds as they rethink their life decisions for waking you up from your nap. While napping undisturbed, you recover from any status effect at an increased rate of 200 percent. If woken up by another survivor, they are hindered for the rest of the match while they nurse their head wounds from your violent retaliation from being woken up from your much deserved nap.

  • I haven’t been paying much attention lately. Wth is this bs?

How do you think about this perk? I think this perk can be useful when you are facing the killer with STBFL, helping you to extend chase time. Also the combination with Lucky Break can be nasty in indoor maps.

I like it with Lucky Break and Quick n Quiet. It’s a nice setup for getting away and even adding a bit of confusion to the killer

  • She is tremendously fun to play as in most cases. I play her ever so often but I think she is easy to bully which causes most players to pass on her. It feels like a lot of players don’t know how to play against her but those that do just destroy her unless they are up against a hag main.

  • It would certainly be better than standing there silently judging you.

I have never heard that phrase and I’m old as #########. Thank you for that.

  • The aura colors mess it up. It’s good on a few killers.

  • I don’t hear well. I’ve had both ear drums in each ear rupture twice and I’ve worked a lot of heavy machinery without proper ear protection as a young man. The visual heartbeat has helped me a lot with my solo q playing. Especially when my wife is talking to me

on killer side, it would be nice to have some help but it would be difficult, understandably, to give them a hand on the hearing help without giving them a bit of an edge. I prefer the killer role and will keep my fingers crossed on some aid here.

  • Trapper just needs traps like chain chomps from Mario bros. Solved.

    😜

  • Wesker. I hate hearing his idiot mouth.

  • They should give him a chain sword like a space marine from Warhammer 40k.

Bagul would be awesome. Love sinister all around

Tallman would be interesting for sure. Would love to see how they incorporate his sentinel spheres

Pumpkinhead would be amazing. Totally 80s in my mind

The Klowne would be funny love to see some cotton Candy stuff

the thing would take some real thought on behaviors part but it would be worth the effort

I would love to see Elvira as a survivor.

It’s great against tunneling too not just swfs. Until tunnel off hook is made less rewarding, this combo should stay as is.

Funny because I tunneled a person out today as pyramid head for using the combo against me. I rarely tunnel ever as I’m pretty relaxed when playing killer. 🤷‍♂️

  • I would welcome the ‘less chance of a killer twice in a row’ but they could just make it to where you have a certain percentage less each time in a row so you definitely don’t get wesker or blight 3 or 4 times in a row

I am a console player and I'm really hyped for Chucky to come into the game. His power looks simple but fun, but I've been seeing clips of his slice-n-dice ability, with some even claiming it's like Onis charge or Billy's Chainsaw. And well if so, it would suck for me to not really be able to play him due to being on console and dealing with limits of controllers.

I've tried in the past to try and learn Killers that are more difficult for console and while I've done well with some, Oni and Billy are still ones I suck at lol

I feel yah. I cannot play oni due to constraints on the controller. I do ok with hillbilly but still get demolished a lot of games with him.

i worried with chucky that it would be similar. I cannot use pinheads chain either because fine control is lost with controllers.

  • I’ve never cared for flashy things or people who think they’re better than someone else for superficial reasons. So obviously, trickster and wesker are both disliked.
