What is wrong with Lights Out, my friend? I loved the first one!
But yes, I would like a POV swamp modifier, I think it would be fun.
I personally played only 2 matches as a killer in Lights out (the very first one), and I didn't like it. Can't tell you from a survivor side…
If I'm not mistaken, I made a post about why I didn't like it, maybe I didn't… (I'm so bad at remembering some things)
In short - (as a killer) It felt like I was playing with a bunch of handicaps and got nothing to compensate for it. It felt like I was running around the map more, than I was chasing, trying to find somebody or trying to follow the blood after a hit.
That was not fun to me. Apparently later on, I learned that a lot of people felt the same.

Star wars isn't a horror movie.
And Vader would probably have little to no cosmetic options.

Ghoul is a really bad example, as he needs a longer cancel cooldown. He's way too easy and forgiving for how strong he is.
A better comparison would be blight. Once he starts rushing, he also can't just end it without going through his fatigue animation. That's what punishes greedy/sloppy uses of the power and rewards survivors for successful dodges or smart use of the environment.
Blight is different, you don't charge up his power. It's "point and press\click" ability.
The good examples are: (again) Ghoul, Wesker, Pinhead, even Demo and others. The thing is - they are all much faster than Nurse, they can literally just cancel their powers and hit you right away. She can't, she is slower than survivors.

This is actually a good way to address giving nurse the ability to cancel a blink, to keep things fair she should still go into fatigue when cancelling a blink but not having to actually blink, nurse players will still have the ability to aim at the floor when blinking
- She is much slower than survivors (already a big handicap)
- Charging her power makes her even slower.
When you play against Nurse, you never run towards her when she charges her blink - you run towards her (double back) once she already teleporting. It's pointless to make her go into fatigue once you canceled her power, because she's not going to reach for that survivor anyway, she needs her power to make hits.
What I'm saying in my suggestion: just add a cooldown on 1 blink charge whenever she cancels her power, so she can't cancel her power more than 2 times in a row. No fatigue needed - she is slow as hell anyway, she can't hit survivor without her power.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Only if it comes with a massive slowdown that's at minimum equal to going into fatigue, and even then I'd probably be against it still
I'm starting to see a hypocrisy in this thread. :D
Ghoul can cancel his power without any fatigue or slowdown. Are you against it? :)
And btw, he's much faster than Nurse with both ability traverse and basic movement speed. Maybe Ghoul should not be able to cancel his power as well? :)
-
They are similar.
Cameras giving info to survivors (aura reading on ST), flame turrets giving info on xeno (biping noise).
Xeno have built in info on survivor's locations (under the tunnel), and survivors can't use the tunnels to traverse the map. (Unlike doors)
The tail attack is much faster than axe, but axe have better range (but much bigger cooldown).
But hey, you can't force ST out of his power. That's the big plus.
-
@SoGo said:
So... You go into fatigue anyway?
Because that is basically just aiming into the floor while blinking.
No fatigue, just cooldown on 1 blink charge. Similar to Pinhead.
There is a big difference between: Facing down (or Up) and blinking vs pressing a button to cancel your power. (Multiple floors\basement issue)
Most killers can just cancel their powers, why Nurse can't?
-
This chapter in general is really good. The main building is outstanding, killer and his animations looks nearly perfect (some bugs aside).
His power is pretty much a copy-paste, but it's not annoying, because it's done really good.
Well, I can tell you - if you will face him in like 7-9 out of 10 games - he will become highly annoying. But again, it's the same with any new fun killer.

My exact complaint from the 2019.

So you know how Survivors have voicelines that only the player playing the character hears?
For example, Nicholas Cage and Lara Croft talk quite a bit in a trial if you're playing as them. However, your teammates won't hear the words they say in the trial.
Well, I just played a match in 2v8 and I rescued Orella from the cage, healed her and then she said "Stupid hook" and I was wondering if anyone else experienced this?
I have rescued many Orella players this week but never has she (nor any other survivors) spoke to my character.
Wondering if this is intentional or a bug?

But the upcoming collections looks pretty dope. Guardians and shadows and Chrysalis collections looks really promising, can't wait to see them in game.

Did you see the new quest where you stun a killer who has no idea you're behind the pallet 8 times? 😎
"Is there a quest like this?" "I'm mildly concerned and scared… Help?"

@Clinton said:
Someone did the math on reddit and said you need to do 37 of 84 dailies, all quests, and milestone quests to reach 100. The 2V8 and Anniversary quests will help too but yeah it seems like it's very important to login and do the dailies.
In all fairness 37 out of 84 dailies doesn't sound too bad… But I still think the game should not force the player to play the game on a daily basis…
It's incentive to make players play more, but it could also be seen as an incentive to play more sweaty… (just saying…)
Thank you for your answer, good sir.

For the past few months, I stopped using any gen regression, but 1 Pop.
I was finding myself being completely dependent on Pain res, all my killer builds were having this perk like it's built in.
Chaos shuffle also helped me with "pain res addiction".
BUT! I found myself in another addiction, which is called "Nowhere to hide". Welp, at least it works perfectly with Pop.

Not an oversight, intentional.
@Topic:
IMO it should be clear that regression (and -progression) Perks should not work on the Blood Gens, this is totally fine. But other Perks and Killer Powers should work on those, so stuff like Fire Up, Pig Traps, Houndmasters Tracking, etc. should all work, but stuff like PGTW, Pain Res, Deja Vu etc. not.
I would also not say that they are done that quickly, kicking them removes a lot of Progress and it can be quite slow to fill them. It is RNG, some are done rather quickly, but others really take some time to fill.
Some of the things are probably not intended: If you play as Xenomorph, you can't hear blood gens at all, when you under the tunnels, even if they're near completed. They make 0 sounds when you under the tunnels, unlike regular gens.
This one is 100% a bug imo. I don't think it was intended.
-
The game just not considers blood gens as normal gens, this is why perks, addons, killer powers don't work.
I do agree, some of the perks and killer powers should work on them, it makes no sense (such as Fire up, Piggies traps, Plague, No where to hide, Coup de, undetectable status, etc)
The blood gens are way too quick, on some maps the blood stations are spawning a few m away from a blood gens.
-
I see this event as a Public test of a potentially new survivor's (side) objective, other than gens. I think they want to implement something similar as these blood gens into the main game mode, and this event is a good opportunity to test it out.
It needs changes and corrections. The idea is there and it's good - but it wasn't implemented perfectly imo.
People were actually asking for something like this. They wanted to have additional or different types of objectives to complete and escape from a trial.

I dont think youre supposed to be able to do them just take a peek at them or even just hover over them
It was yesterday, I noticed that I was able to click on any of them freely, I completed the first lvl, then went for the next one, did 4 of them in lvl 2 and went to sleep.
Today I thought I caught a same bug again, I've been able to take a peek but couldn't click on the challenges.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Pretty sure you don't. The survivor has to put it down voluntarily, which they have no incentive to do given that the canister leaks until it totally disappears when it's on the ground.
I've been putting down canisters for killers. Very few kick them. Even when I point at the canister, the killer just seems confused.
Yeah, I think you're right. Only up to survivor player to drop it, but… Something tells me there is no need for them to drop it.
As a killer you can't really "communicate" for survivor to drop it, they would not understand what you want from them.

You can take a peek at any lvl of an evt tome by simply selecting a reward from it and pressing the correspondent button to "go to the evt tome".
BUT something different happened with my friend. He is doing the challenges from lvl 2.
How? He said he accidentally pressed RB to go to the Current Tome tab the exact moment he was getting the lvl 1 rewards (clicking on the "Eye" at the end of the path) and this somehow let him go to the lvl 2, select the challenges and indeed complete them.I've been doing them as well.
Level 2, I don't have access anymore. Can't continue.
-
@red_ninja_01 said:
I dont believe this is a bug, and theres no such challenge as kicking a canister only kicking blood gens. The "bug" is done by going in the cosmetics store from the event and then clicking on the traspper mask cosmetic or the survivor cosmetic, which reveals the level 3 tome.
if you do it with the weapon skin for the trapper and the pants for the survivor you go to the 2nd tome level.
Plus ive tested with franklins, it does not drop the canister only the item they hold like a flashlight or the new map item, and you can see them holding it after hitting them.
Dude, now I really don't see this challenge. I could swear yesterday I was seeing this challenge near the end of the lvl 3.
Thank you anyway. I'll edit my question.

Cudos, Developers.❤️
This is a happy news for people who play this killer. Desired by community decisions will not go unrewarded.
-
Tbf - it's nothing burger.
Agitation saving more time in this regard.
This perk, however, making a decent Lightborn replacement for ppl who use it.
-
If your ping is 70 - you will not notice any difference if your ping will be 20 or 30. Asking to "lower" your ping from 70 - will not make any noticeable difference.
The "joke show" coming into play once you reach 105+ ping - this is where you will start noticing a significant delay. (nearly 1 second delay)
I personally play with 71-76 ping mostly (I suppose it's Warsaw server). Sometimes I have 89-93 (further away for some reason).
On the event mods - I usually have 110 - 125 (the main reason why I stopped playing event mods and it's not only me). And I think it's because the events are using different servers (again, for some reason).
In general 70 ping is considered normal\fine. If you have killers against you with 125 and higher - it's solely the game's issue causing the person to connect to the furthest server. I would even say - it's a bug.
Edit: OR - the person playing a killer is just having a bad network connection, ofc. But it's not always the reason.
-
If you're slugging all 4 survivors (for no reason) - at the end of the match, you will have: minus 500 000 bp, minus grades, minus player level, minus 100 of all addons and offerings, minus archive progress, and random guy from your friendlist will be kidnapped and put in someone's basement.
If this^ in tact - watch how killers reconsider their behavior in game, first day.
-
I'd take QOL improvements over any character changes or new characters any day.

That is one of my concerns, that it will just encourage less discussion - but if we don't try it, we'll never know. It's not something we're locked into doing, it's very easy to switch off so if it does start to be problematic, it's just a flick of a switch.
It works well on a lot of other platforms, I hope it can work here.
My personal take: This will only increase toxicity and reluctance of voicing own opinion.
With downvotes people will see no need to express "Why I don't agree with you". Just downvote and that's it - leaving a person wonder why they get downvoted.
Not only that - it could be used with malicious intent, and we could see a "downvote brigades" sabotaging the forum and people's posts.

Not really a fan of this change.
The forums can already be a negative place, no need to make it worse. Don't think a button that lets people indicate "your take sucks" without any form of further discussion will be beneficial. This will probably make me use the forums less if anything.
At least say WHY you think the take sucks at least.Well, the thing is - your message is not going to get hidden with 5 downvotes (like you know where).
Because imagine what would've happen with all constructive criticism being hidden or sorted down just due to downvotes.
Now, if we don't like something, but don't want to get downvoted to oblivion - we might start our messages with:
- Guys! I love this game! But…
- Hey guys, I'm so sorry to say, but…
- No offence…
- I'm a fan of this feature, but…
- I'm gonna get downvoted, but…
Oh please Lord. :D

This is ridiculous.Yoo, I can relate. :D

@OrangeBear said:
The queue times are just unhealthy. I think survivor is just not appealing enough to play. Killer is though, because it offers an entirely new experience in the form of co-op play. Survivor is double the team size and you roughly have half the impact on the match. It's a bit chaotic yet the lack of significance of each individual player makes it not very engaging.
People have criticised the decision to add bots to the queue, however you may feel about this decision it is an attempt to address a very real problem being the queue times. Previously, they tried to make survivor more fun, however that also didn't reduce queue times sufficiently. And now that the queue times still aren't noticably better after adding bots, a solution that to me seems pretty last resort, what are they supposed to do next?
In my opinion i think we should just move past 2v8, but explore new options for co-operative killer play. For example maybe 2v4, but gens take half the time or there's a different objective entirely.
I just feel that 2v8 has overstayed it's welcome, it's not worth the queue times anymore.Survivor is way too chaotic (which is not fun after a few games), and practically nothing new in 2v8.
Killers with their 25-30m q - is just a simple "No".
Bots are a "No" in general.
I suggested to change it into 3v5 (with nerfed killers, similar to TCM) - but people didn't like it.
2v8 isn't bad on a paper. It's just… I don't know how to say.
-
No, thank you.
I still love playing this game.

Hey there folks. Popping in here to let you know that our Community Team is treating collecting and sharing feedback with the team as our top priority today. While I'm seeing general comments about how folks feel about bots in here (which we are also sharing with the team), I'd also love to dig into the specifics of how you're feeling, as these can often be the most useful feedback points.
If there are specific instances of bots doing things that you've liked or have found disruptive in 2v8, I'd love to hear them.People just don't want to play with or against bots in an online multiplayer PVP game.
The addition of bots (except power based, such Knight's guards) in such games is just a bad decision in general.
Instead of "treating all ailments with bots" - it's better to find an actual fix.
-
To me personally the state of the game is:
- Most Survivor players don't know what to do against any killer they're facing. They're still camping pallets against Nurse, they don't put any flamethrowers against Xeno, they have absolutely no idea who even Hag is, etc.
- Most Survivor players don't know how to loop, they don't check corners, sometimes they're blatantly ignoring pallets or tiles, running pass those, or changing direction into a dead zones.
- Being overly altruistic.
- They don't wait for the killer to leave the area after hooking a survivor. Rushing for the unhook as fast as they can, despite the killer right behind them.
- (Other way around) They don't unhook to "tunnel gen" a little longer to the point the hooked survivor reaching the second stage.
- They do ANYTHING, but gens.
- Giving up on hooks, or DC-ing.
- Blatantly expecting to face the killer they "like to play against", or expecting to face a "baby killer".
- They don't take chases\hooks for the team, despite being the only survivor who haven't been hooked yet or got any chases.
- They don't even try to play as a team.
I can go on for longer, but you got the point. When survivor players knows what game they're playing - killer will not be able to slug all 4, tunneling will only result in 1k.
And let's get 1 thing out of the way… End-game Mori has nothing to do with anything you mentioned.
Killers could've tunnel or slug even without this feature.
And let's get another thing out of the way - before anti-face camp mechanic and base-kit BT - it was numerous times worse. Let's not forget how the game used to be, and pretend like: "The game was better before". I keep seeing how people still mentioning how it was, despite the atrocious state of: "OP perks, OP loops, OP tactics" etc.
-
Man, good for you! Though, I still think this perk is bad (very bad even), because it requires the bloodlust.
-
You did 4k as a Hag with no perks, addons, and no tunneling? Does survivors were afk? Killed themselves on first hook?
Freddy 4k before the rework? Nah.
The results are VERY questionable.
I can confidently tell - these results are indicating on how bad the survivors are playing the game.
Let alone on how often they're giving up.
If you were playing against an average team who knows how to play the game (with the same no perks, no addons, no tunneling) - most of the killer names on your results would've been painted in blue.
-
The very core "issue" of DBD - this game doesn't have any worth competitors of the genre. If there was a game that is nearly as good as DBD (threatens DBD to withdraw\steal players) - watch how immediately the developers are working numerous times better.
The lack of competitors usually being "greeted" by lazyness, and lack of desire to try better\be better.
The quality of the game would've been MUCH better if the game were having any competitors that threatens to withdraw a playerbase.
I've said nothing new btw, DBD was not having any worthwhile competitors since the very 2016.
-
You've got a "TTV" in your nickname and you complaining about stream snipers? Understandable. (not really)
If you want to keep this "TTV" in order to get a bigger audience - you need to face and consider the side effect.
- I'm personally not facing too much of a slugging, but I'm not going to argue, because I know that happens.
- The wiggle is not meant to be a "constant grasp escape". It meant to be a tool to prevent the killer to hook you where ever they want. If you want it to work - you need a teammates who would make a successful sabo play.
- What for? Anti-face camp mechanic is working as intended, why do you want to get rid of this?
- Agree, there are cheaters here and there.
- (I answered about streaming)

Its not a law. Even you still believe this show me the exact phrases of this law that bhvr (located in canada) forces to advertise a region lock in before. Like I said several times before, its just your or mine morals, and not legal law.
(Pardon me, I'm pretty drunk now, after celebrating my big bro birthday)
I would say, let's just stop arguing, because we're not helping the course anyway.
The devs aren't right in this situation, nor the players, even by releasing a reginal locked content in a game where players are playing across the world. That's not how they should've handle it.
I love the devs of dbd, and I love the game, but there's should be a limit on where someone should defend what they ae love from where they should criticize. Rather be rational,
Wish you best of luck though, with love!

there is no law that forces bhvr to tell in before if there is a region lock or not. Thats what counts, not your or my morals. You cannot make bhvr at fault for buying auric cells before you even know if you can purchase it or not. And how about stop taking everything out of context? I never said that i support any of this.
"Providing consumers with complete and comprehensive information about a product is the direct responsibility of the seller (even if they are not the manufacturer).
It's not morals, it's basic common sense and a law.
Read the article about Digital content and consumer rights. And you will find it. Developers should've provided the info that these digital goods are going to be region-restricted for listed countries. Player\buyer\consumer should not expect anything themselves, but using the information they're given by the seller\trader\ (in our case) developer.

Its obviously the peoples fault. BHVR has no obligation to provide information in before. And those people do not lose anything, they still have their money spend ingame for auric cells and can buy anything else they do actually have in store. It doesnt matter here if your or my morals say other, bhvr did nothing wrong and you cant blame them for doing nothing wrong.
Its insanity if you expect to get something thats not existing in the first place. Just because someone advertises something, it doesnt mean that this something is being released. So why being so greedy and spending money if you can just wait til its released? Thats just greed.
And i really dont care for review bombing. People complain for reasons beyond others abilities. Especially chinese players know exactly that their nations always has issues with censorship or licences from around the world. They surely can expect something to be not available for them.
"What did I just read…?"
Its obviously the peoples fault. BHVR has no obligation to provide information in before.
Is this a joke? "The seller is obliged to provide all information about the product they are selling, and the buyer is not obliged to ask or search the info themselves." Especially when it comes to country-based restrictions. Ain't no way you just said that, bro.
Its insanity if you expect to get something thats not existing in the first place. Just because someone advertises something, it doesnt mean that this something is being released.
"Expect to get something that's not existing in the first place" - what is that message even about?
This "someone" is a developers themselves you're talking about, they advertised it, with no region locks, so it DOES mean that this "something" should be released for all.
The last paragraph of your message just seems to me like a straight up supporting the country-based restrictions and just hating on people who against it.
Do you support region-blocking in games, my friend?
