No Way To Hide, the Knights Perk which reveals the Aura of Survivors when kicking a Gen.
Right, thanks, probably why I couldn't remember it, actually haven't seen a knight or his perks in a while, lol

"there's a reason why BHVR threatens to ban people over doc camping a 3 gen and just inducing madness"
Let's be clear on this: I am NOT defending players who use the NWTH / Call of brine / Eruption / Overcharge build on the knight (or any killer for that matter) to camp a 3-gen from the start of the game without ever taking a chase.
I'm just wondering about what you just said: what elements could BHVR bring forward to issue this kind of ban?
Because from the killer's point of view, he was just applying an optimal defense strategy.
I agree that this kind of game is more than annoying to live, but how to define the limit between the voluntarily abusive and the valid strategy? At what point can we consider that the player is abusing?
And at what point does a player who protects a zone go from being allowed to being forbidden? How can we define these aspects?
Suppose a survivor wants to chase the killer to a location, and the killer stops following him because he sees that the survivor is trying to chase him away from the generators: does this become punishable behavior? Does this make dropping chase a prohibited behavior?
Again, I am NOT defending the 3-gen knight build's camping at all, I was just wondering.
Just curious could you remind me what NWTH stands for? I can't think of it atm

Because there are 4 survivors to balance for rather than just one killer

The killers seem so angry during this event meanwhile the survivors just want to high five in the snowmen. They should've made challenges for killers and survivors that were "enter x amount of snowmen" and "high five x players" in snowmen, maybe that'd help chill some people out.
I mean, PTSD exists, just give them a week to realize that these snowman's are better, I think, I actually can't say if they are or not, I haven't been on yet

It's like this at the beginning of every event.
You get a lot of sweats and people not interested in playing the event.
It dies down eventually. A lot of Killers also probably have some bad memories from last year.
Are the snowman's any better this year?

To be fair, the difficulty doesn't have anything to do with the dependency on others. If you go one a 10 hour chase (obvious exaggeration, if someone planned on pointing it out) but your allies did absolutely nothing, doesn't make it hard, just annoying at how others play. Difficulty is based on the 1v1, not the 4v1, efficiency is dependent on the 4v1, not the 1v1. I think the major complaints come down to killer being more dependent on capitalizing on survivor mistakes than anything else.
I guess that's fair

What’s the point of this post? Of course the side with 4 players is gonna be easier than the side with 1.
Eeeeehhhhh, debatable, at least with killer you only need to depend on yourself, with survivors you gotta hope the other 3 can carry their weight, so it more so depends on skill, like every other game

Tell that to all the people who play her and all the survivors from her killrate
People like to pretend she's bad because they treat this game like esports and lost to a couple of SWFs with her - but the truth is, she's fun to play and very good against most casuals (which is a majority of the survivor playerbase)
Right, definitely not the fact that people only play her with her condemned slugging playstyle

It used to expose the survivor if you spear them from 16 meters away-- with Slinger's max range being 18.
They changed it to 12 meters. Still tough, but far more doable.
Ah, got it, so if I had to choose any of slingers add ons, that's not a bad choice

Yeah I can see why you don't play him lol
I just got the Bound and Downed Steam achievement (down 30 speared survivors) but I think I will park him up and wait for rank reset for the adept as I am getting tilted now.
Example of how pathetic he is: My last match I was on Sanctum and at one point there was a small rock that I chased a survivor around and I must have done 4 loops of it before I started to actually gain any distance lmao. Because his ADS is so slow I could not take the shot regardless and of course they dropped the pallet and I got a useless deep wound out of all that.
The survivors were actually pretty wholesome and at the end even they were saying what in the actual ***** was going on lol? They wondered how several of my shots simply didn't hit and honestly it feels like some of them are just RNG with a high probability they will not hit.
Anyway, thanks all but I think my Slinger adept is on hold until reset lol... I will go insane otherwise
Well now I want to try for slinger adept, lol

His other addons aren't necessarily bad, but they just don't have as strong of an impact as cutting down on that massive reloading timesink. Reload/reload has pretty much been the de-facto best Slinger addons until the Coin got buffed to actually be reasonable.. which makes it kind of terrifying now.
But yeah, hope it helps. I got my Adept before the nerf (though DMS and Gearhead were worse, and it was on Disturbed Ward, so I didn't get off too easy), but I'll see if I can't get an all-Slinger merciless for solidarity.
I thought the coin was garbage, what does it do again?
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
So I am doing lots of adepts/steam achievements I never go around to and I have reached Slinger and boy am I struggling with his adept.
It feels like 90% of the time if the survivor is at the limit of my possible range my shots are going to miss, it looks like they just go into nowhere even though I can clearly see my aim is spot on.
Also his slow movement speed makes loops absolutely painful and even if I can land a shot on a injured survivor, so long as they drop one of the many pallets on every map all I can do is deep wound them which obviously does nothing.
I don't particularly like Slinger and doubt I will play him again after I have his achievements but I can understand why people were complaining. He is like an infinitely worse Huntress who has range but cannot actually injure over pallets.
I guess any tips to help with this damn adept would be great too :)
Slingers awful

Just because the game is going poorly that doesn't mean you have to dc or give up.
I've had my fair share of bad games as killer and survivor and when I lost,I just kept playing even though I was frustrated or feeling demoralized.
Giving up wont make you feel better, but it sure as heck satisfying when you manage to turn a game around by not giving up.
As survivor I had games where the killers stomped us,but managed to escape through hatch or exit gate.
I see survivors dc so often over anything.
I dont like the killer I go againts?DC,Give up
I get found out first and chased?DC,Give up
I get downed first?DC,Give up
No one comes for the hook save before second stage?DC,Give up
I'm on my last hook and I dont wanna give the killer the kill?DC
Failed flashlight save?DC,Give up
And that's not even all of the reasons why survivors dc.
I see so many dcs that it makes me thinkg there's actually no dc penalty which is wild.
None of these are a reason big enough to warrant a dc or giving up,even if the game goes poorly, you gain nothing by giving up or dcing.
You literally answered your questions, lol

I've been hit by it. And well, the fact of the matter is that it exists, so I'm not gonna risk it. Slugging is the only thing the killer can do to counter that perk combo in that scenario.
Yeah but like... how often do you get hit by it, and 2 perks to hopefully get away, I'd say they deserve it
-
@NekoTorvic said:
It's endgame, and you decide to just stay under a pallet slugged. The killer has no way of knowing if you have power struggle/flip-flop or not. So it's either letting you bleed out for 4 minutes, or potentially giving you a free escape.
I know I, for one, will always let you bleed out. If you dont wanna bleed out, get out from under the pallet. If you don't wanna get out from under the pallet, don't blame the killer for not picking you up. If you're not gonna get out from under the pallet and then trash talk the the killer for refusing to pick you up, you're a bit entitled imo 🙄
Who actually runs that combo

I could, if I hadn't gone to do something else when they opened the gates and I was nowhere near them, then come back to find they inexplicably haven't left.
It's not like I'm inconvenienced in these situations, because I wasn't going to have queued up for another game at that point anyway.
Well don't complain if you not gonna kick them out, you have the power

"They have virtually no impact on game play" yet, people are more inclined to play certain characters if they have a nice cosmetic they care about.
That sentence was never true in DbD and in any other game.
But...they don't, Mercy from Overwatch doesn't get 100% healing speed if you wear the pink skin, Claudette doesn't get 100% invisibility if she gets a bush cosmetic, it's all just personal choice, the skin is as important as you make it

Freddy main? No offense but killers aren’t the best judges here. It’s like asking the wolf if they think the pen should have lighter security. And yeah… i get that we need to know the range but that isn’t an argument for whether the range is right or wrong. You could say the same thing if killers could lunge 100 yards. But is 100 yards too long? Yes. I think being able to lunge from 4-5 feet from 1 side of a pallet, through the pallet which effectively prevents throwing it from 4-5 feet away… is a little much.
You're really judging on perk pfp choice? Mine was lightborn for the longest time, but do I ever play hillbilly, ONE time, and I actually got the adapt first try and I've never picked him up again

Circle of healing is the most op and used perk for survivors, but just because its been nerfed its fair?
Why do survivors has to have unlimited advantage againts the weakest killers,m1 ones that actually care about healing.
Circle of healing is like holding a survivor hand,oh dont worry,I got you,you can have unlimited heals for just booning for 14 seconds,if the killer wants to get rid of it,he has to come to this corner of the map and snuff it out,but then dont worry, you can boon it again and again for an unlimited amount of time.
The perk would still be op even it he healing speed was only 35%
They need to put a limit on it,how many time you can use it to heal or a cooldown, its hilarious people use the fact its been nerfed as an excuse.
Its an easy crutch for survivor.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3281880#Comment_3281880
Dont forget you can pari botany knowledge with it and get unlimited 100% heals, people actually defend this lmfao.
I mean, that's 2 perk slots for we'll make it value

Aside from my bad matches today I've noticed for about a month now
If I play the side that DOESN'T have an incentive the games are less toxic, less sweaty, and generally easier.
Has anyone else noticed this? I guess it makes sense. If one side is getting sweaty and rude, the other logs off, kicking in the BP incentive. It really feels like the BP incentive is just telling me "here this side will be miserable but we will pay you to play it".
Everyday I've played for about a month I've done the opposite side of the BP incentive and the games were fine. But the MOMENT I've played a few games with the incentive it's been a nightmare.
Thoughts? Maybe it's my imagination but I had another couple friends try it and they got the same result. I'm not saying it worked this way every match but the majority atleast.
It's people, you can't predict anything they do, they suck sometimes and other times they're the nicest people, that's all it is

The issue about that is that he can basically fully trap a location to the extend where the survivor can't get out... There is a clip of Otz doing that on Lerys stating that this is why he should not have all of them on hand from the start...

Depends on the situation. I've had plenty of games where we've all "thrown" and had a blast. I've had many killer games were survivors will avoid interactions as much as possible. They slam gens and leave. Couldn't think of anything more boring as a survivor. It sure is boring as killer too.
Well yeah, that's because you all agree on throwing, some people want to win
