It probably has the problem the Steam forums have - excessive moderation that results in long term and helpful contributors being perma banned for trivial nonsense. Just look at any necroed thread in the Steam discussions - it will be absolutely littered with perma banned posters. The DBD discussions are well known for this, so I suspect the forums here are just as heavy handed and eventually people just don't contribute, as the most engaging people get banned and you feel you cant speak up on certain things for fear of being banned.
Ironically, I have to say I have probably pushed the limits here and not been banned, much to my surprise. But I am most certainly banned on the Steam discussions, as are almost all my friends.

"in some form or another", you're accusing people of being unable to comprehend the situation (as if you would comprehend it), and IN THE SAME SENTENCE you're weakening that whole statement with a "in some form or another" (you simply don't know what's coming, just be honest).
The fact is, the changes proposed by BHVR on the PTB are not arriving as presented. That is final, and no "Deboonker" can change it. Whatever BHVR is cooking up is completely unknown, number tweaks, removal of mechanics. Nobody knows, and that includes you. So please, don't be that Deboonker.
Keep huffing that copium, as either way it is coming in 'some form or another' and I meant that as that is what I said.
I don't think some content creators do understand this is a temporary reprieve, not an open season to return to resorting to tunnelling at 5 gens for easy wins in perpetuity.
Any changes have to be somewhat extreme, otherwise they don't provide any disincentive and no amount of getting angry or rage posting at me will change that. I don't care much personally, I don't tunnel anyway so meh, I will only get rewarded when I play killer
-
Yeah I am familiar with Camomo and like his vids @THE_Crazy_Hyena
But servers without active admins are unplayable due to cheaters, even ones with admins have active cheaters and Camomo proves this. They still cause misery before they get banned and they only get server banned, so they move onto the next server while EAC does nothing lol
I cant really comment on DBD recently as I took a break before 2v8 and didn't come back because Legion was back in 2v8. But it seems cheaters are still ruining the game…. sigh.
-
All I can say is I hope to God they don't keep Legion in it… otherwise forget it, I would rather just stick with normal queues.
-
I mostly gave up on this, talking about it can and will get you banned on Steam if you link to videos about the subject and Google seem to have no issue with cheat sellers peddling their wares on their sites. I tried reporting but Google completely ignores reports.
All you can do is report them in game and hope they get banned and don't ruin too many of your matches.
It is actually becoming a plague in gaming in general though, anyone who played something like Rust recently (also EAC lol) knows how out of control the cheater infestation is
-
It is annoying but these people don't seem to understand the changes are not there YET but ultimately they will be there, in some form or another.
The worse the problem is, the more severe the actions BHVR will be forced to take.
Certain content creators etc who are encouraging this are ultimately doing a disservice to the killers who think this is a smart way to play. Best to do all you can to learn to not tunnel as your only method to get wins, or you're going to have a real hard time when changes inevitably go to live matches.
-
It's a good idea but a lot of work and I've noticed they don't seem to like things that take too much work (money).
But yes even as a former Nurse main myself, I was pleasantly surprised to see them clearly recognising not all killers are equal. As I feel there are lot of nice things that aren't possible because Nurse is the elephant in the room.
Any minor changes that take killer strength/power into considerations would be welcome, any small start is better than nothing
-
The effort is admirable but people don't learn, I gave up trying in vain to get simple concepts like doing gens against campers into heads. Or trying to encourage more positive styles of play with the naïve belief that being a positive example will change behaviours.
Unfortunately the tunnelling with probably increase until actual disincentives are in place, as those who rely on this tactic are going to make the most of the time they have left getting easy wins from tunnels at 5 gens.
-
Glad its over, I would have been playing it but they put Legion back in so I didn't bother.
It just messes up regular queues if you don't want to play 2v8, which is just annoying

What's actually embarrassing is survivors coming out just to complain they ain't getting there way like this thread for example
They are though, it is just going to be delayed and adjusted lol
Thing is, the tunnel at 5 gens crowd have made sure that is inevitable and BHVR made clear it will return in another PTB before finally going live
-
To me the problem is people who hard tunnel at 5 gens to get a survivor out so they have easy wins.
This tactic should not be possible, it ruins the match for not only the person being tunnelled, but also the other 3 survivors who are left in an unwinnable match.
Having to address this will have an impact on those who only tunnel strategically (one gen left kind of thing) but as always, it is always the few that ruin things for the majority.
-
There were too many massive changes with huge impact in one go, they did too much at once and it was never going to go live I guess.
But they have made it clear this isn't the end, the changes are delayed and the people who rely on tunnelling at 5 gens for easy wins will not be celebrating for long I'd say.
-
Don't lose hope yet, they did word it in a way that changes will happen and I am sure they will. Just wont be so many massive game altering changes all at once.
The tunnelling will continue and this will ensure that they have no choice but those ruining the game with the tunnel at 5 gens for easy games tactic will have nothing stopping them… for now.

I agree tunneling at 5 gens is horrible and boring, but these changes are way too powerful and wide-ranging to be just for “tunneling”. Tunneling is sitting on hook/running straight back to hook the same survivor three times in a row to get them out. It isn’t hooking a survivor, going back to chase the unhooked because that’s the only person you can find, then the first hook has horrible game sense and goes for an immediate unhook without healing because their other two teammates are hiding in lockers or just sitting on gens. Rinse and repeat. That’s not tunneling and with these changes a killer who isn’t tunneling would be severely punished because survivors are playing poorly.
Well I guess we will see, I am happy to see adjustments as we all know survivors will find ways to abuse mechanics and that should not be allowed to happen too.
-
I am looking forward to it, there may need to be adjustments but it will good to finally have the tunnel at 5 gens minority dealt with
-
Anti tunnel changes absolutely need to happen and are long overdue, if adjustments need to be made then so be it.
The scenario of tunnelling out a survivor at 5 gen to create unwinnable matches for survivors was always going to need to be addressed.
I cant wait for it to come in and I hope those threatening to quit if they cant tunnel every match do quit, it will be a massive W overall.
-
I only play solo myself and sometimes I do get it for killers, if my random team mates are sweaty and head on/flashbang/blind the killer constantly I can totally understand them feeling like they want to get everyone.
The ones I don't understand is where say someone DC's at 5 gens and the match is a mess from the start, everyone still tries to salvage a match from that and nobody is what you could call 'toxic'… yet the killer goes out their way to make the remaining survivors have the most miserable match ever and will subject them to slugging for the 4k too.
For adepts etc, totally fine but some seem to do it for ego reasons more than anything else. Oh and don't get me started on streamer 'win streaks' - one of the worst things in DBD!
-
The only ones being punished are the obnoxious minority who insist on tunnelling every single match as their only way to win games. This minority cause a massive amount of misery for the other 4 people in matches and it is long overdue to deal with this.
I never tunnelled so it wont affect me at all, in fact the majority of killers who don't tunnel will enjoy the benefits of how they always played anyway lol

That's funny. I see a lot more bully squad content creators than slugging content creators. When will those bully squad creators be getting their nerfs? Oh, wait! I forgot, they're actually getting BUFFED this patch. Because killers have to worry about survivor satisfaction, and survivors are allowed to be as mean spirited and toxic as they want.
Yes and most of them end up dead at 5 gens.
I get it, tryhard 'bully squads' are irritating and very unfun to deal with but they almost always aren't actually good at the game. They are just tedious to deal with, no doubt about that.
Despite the claims of certain content creators who claim they are at God tier MMR and always face the top 0.0001% of survivors, reality is most of the player base are unskilled casuals. It just sticks in our memories more when we face 'those' kinds of teams.
-
There were certain content creators and their orbiters who after previously slugging every match (until BHVR was forced to add the option to leave matches) have now started to hard tunnel at 5 gens in every game. I have warned them that like with the whole slugging everyone tactic, they will force the devs hand so they have to introduce extreme methods to stop tunnelling.
Sure enough… the devs have been forced to finally do something and honestly I am happy to see it finally happen.
Most killers don't tunnel hard like this but as per usual, it is a small minority that ruin things for everyone
-
Yeah I might come back myself, I was looking forward to 2v8 but unfortunately Legion was put in again so I haven't played it.
While the killers who hard tunnel at 5 gens are a minority in my experience, they are enough of an issue to leave a bad taste for me and make the game feel unfun and not worth the stress. These changes will hopefully reduce this dramatically so I am interested in at least giving it go
-
The anti slug is fine, only the Tenancy effect probably is too much. The anti tunnel is also fine but if it turns out adjustments are necessary then so be it.
The situation had to change, as a minority were abusing the fact you can identify a weak link and tunnel them out at 5 gens. This makes for a miserable experience for the survivor getting tunnelled out and their team who are left in a match they really cant win.
It will be fine, most killers don't do this so they will only get the benefits of not tunnelling and I would be happy to see these increased to reward good conduct from killers.
-
I love how all over the innernets/forums/YouTube all the killers who cant win without tunnelling are coming out of the woodwork to melt down.
The thing is, it is still a minority of killers who hard tunnel, despite what people like to claim on here. So the majority are still going to be fine as they don't resort to the typical hard tunnel at 5 gens to get easy wins tactic.
It is funny, I saw certain content creators (that I cant name here) almost bragging how they tunnel because of BHVR and survivors doing gens too fast and I warned them that all they will do is create a situation that forces BHVR's hand. Sure enough lol…
This upcoming change is LONG OVERDUE. Nobody should get easy wins from ruining the match for the other team and especially the individual they tunnel out at 5 gens.
-
DBD stopped being a stealth friendly game long ago and the devs keep making it clear they don't want people to use stealth, love or hate it.
If killers are going to be discouraged from tunnelling I absolutely want them to be rewarded for this. Though they could refine this so the BBQ effect doesn't happen when only 2 are left, which I think would be a fair adjustment.
-
Get angry at the minority of the killer player base who forced the devs hand here.
These players tunnel some poor sod out at 5 gens EVERY single match, which means easy wins for them and a ruined match for the remaining 3 survivors who may as well just give up and go next, while hoping they aren't miserable enough to face another killer like this.
I have to laugh though, as this was always inevitable and I warned so many content creators and killers in general that trying to punish BHVR for gen speeds with constant hard tunnels at 5 gens would backfire. Sure enough…
-
Its fine, though I don't think base kit tenacity is necessary, it deals with killers who aren't just slugging for pressure and are instead using slugging as a tool to create misery.
-
It really isn't but I guess we will see how these changes will change the balance of the game.
Either way, I am all for anti tunnelling measures as the tunnelling is ridiculous at this point. A minority of killers ruined it for everyone, as they simply tunnel someone out every single match, which makes the match almost unwinnable for survivors and just creates all round misery for the majority of the players in the match.
This took longer than I hoped it would but better late than never.
-
Just remove Legion entirely from 2v8, their design is a problem and not suited to this mode of game play. I am so gutted they put Legion back in again, I was really looking forward to 2v8 but I cant do it with Legion in it.
-
I would be very happy with them extending it… except Legion is in it.
-
The game probably seems pretty rough if you're new to killer… but boy would you have been really upset when maps were bigger, safe loops were everywhere, gens took less time and everyone was running Dead Hard because it was such a no-brainer.
-
Yes I most definitely did lol!
-
Unfortunately this will never change, sure if they are so toxic they break rules then you can try reporting but this wont ever solve this problem.
The reality is, you really need to come up with your own ways to deal with it and not let it get to you, or just stop playing the game entirely. There will always be 'those' kinds of people who get joy out of trying to make other people miserable.
-
Yep, I refuse to play it again until they remove Legion. I said right from the start that having a killer who gets free injures is a massive problem when two killers are in play. Legion themselves is irritating but not game breaking, in 2v8 it is and they should never have been put in this mode in the first place.
I am actually surprised BHVR brought them back again… though I guess I should not be surprised.
-
Nope, I don't want to play against Legion at all but I can tolerate it in normal matches as it isn't constant. In 2v8 Legion is a constant pest that has made 2v8 unplayable for me.
I used to like 2v8 but now I hate it and want it to go away - entirely because of Legion. The sooner 2v8 is gone, the better.

I don’t think 2v8 is necessarily killer-sided in general, I just think Oni is still pretty busted in 2v8. Legion is super unfun as well and really doesn’t belong in 2v8. Nerf Oni a bit, get rid of Legion, bring in some other new killers and I think 2v8 would be in a much better spot for survivors.
Agreed, I wont play it again until they do this.

Fully agree. Putting Legion into 2v8 was a huge mistake. Survivor is plenty fun for me in this mode but becomes insanely miserable with this one killer and ruins the entire experience. We’ll see how it goes but if I get Legion frequently in the first few matches I’ll probably just quit early like I did last 2v8 event.
I watched a few friends streaming last night and yeah… Legion, Legion and Legion followed by Legion. I have not played any 2v8 and I guess I definitely wont be.
It's okay, I have a massive backlog on Steam so I will just go back to trying to work through that :)

sucks for me because I don't care for most of the roster we do have. I'm basically stuck between Legion, Spirit and Crapper but being on comms Spirits a wash
I guess so, I don't bother with killer personally.
I just don't understand adding Legion, there must be better alternatives than goddamn Legion. Ugh… I guess I will take a longer break off DBD.
-
I maintain my belief that Legion should not be in this mode at all and they completely ruin it.
Very disappointed, I just wont play it and save myself the irritation.

Legions legions legion legions more legions
This is why I am just not going to play this mode anymore.
I thought they learned from the misery last time but nope… so I am just not putting myself through this frustration again.
-
It was… quite something to behold, that is for sure. Good grief
-
Jeez I see my earlier post complaining about 250ms, well it has gotten far worse as I had 1000ms and 700ms killers many times in recent months. Literally unplayable and super unfair but we have to stay in the match regardless.
There should be prevention, since we cant get out of this situation without a penalty and it isn't our fault some people are unethical and abuse ping.
-
I am glad they do this now as it shows they learned their lesson.
I suspect you probably did not experience the first version of DS (it got changed not long after I started), or even worse, the first version of Mettle Of Man, which was so unbelievably game breaking and unfair it is hard to believe it existed in that form.
Clearly BHVR know that adding insanely strong perks to the massive number of existing perks, has often dramatic and unpredictable consequences that create unintended metas and break the game. It results in them having to be nerfed or completely changed, or a whole lot of additional balancing work to compensate.
Thank God BHVR don't release super broken perks now

Thanks for confirming!
No worries :)
However I was able to finally get into survivor by going into killer and starting up searching for a match, existing and then going into survivor after that.
-

To confirm, are you playing on Steam when encountering this? This is something that we're currently looking into. It seems that you can sometimes get through if you attempt to join a lobby again, but know this is on our radar!
Yes Steam for me
-
I cant get in at all, keep getting the same error message. Someone logged it in the bugs section and they are looking into it… so hopefully a fix will be incoming.
-
Same thing here too
Edit: I was able to get into survivor by selecting killer and going ready to start searching for a match. I then backed out and tried to go into survivor, which I was able to do now.

This is very annoying, the discord game overlay doesn't work unless your in one of the windowed modes, borderless would be a great addition as well for multiple monitor users.
I agree, every modern game should have a borderless mode.
I have to use 3rd party programs to force borderless which is stupid and even then it doesn't work all the time
-
I most certainly do not, there are worse killers for sure but I would rather not thank you.
-
It's a fantastic solo queue perk, you may not have to run it every time but you can never go wrong by running Kindred in my opinion.
I love most of the OG perks and rarely run new ones, the old great perks are still great to this day.
-
My first main killer was Clown back in early 2019 when I started the game, he was the killer who took me to rank 1 (when rank meant something). I liked him because of his laugh and I thought the character was really well designed, even down to the jiggle physics of his belly in the lobby lol.
However playing Clown was painful back then too, he had even less going for him and no map pressure saw me suffer a lot of pain. So my next main was, you guessed it, NURSE lol. I mained Nurse for several years after that until I got bored of winning and stopped enjoying playing killer.
