    Daily nerf nurse thread? Check

Would it kill you guys to at least name it Nerf Nurse? Gosh, Nurse is a person 2

I'm terrible as killer so i only play survivor. Maybe if i was on pc it would be more easier as killer but o well

Y'know, there's something called practice, you obviously won't get better if you don't try

Depends on the situation I guess, I wouldn't be surprised (unfortunately) if in some cases they don't even bother to do the last gen, and only do it when they get bored after some time waiting for a reaction from the afk killer.

Fortunately, it's isolated cases that are few and far between =)

Then you still have a chance to win the game, like I know where you are coming from, but I just don't get why we make such a big deal, like yes it'll happen, people are people, but I mean if they don't pop the last gen, you can at least consider it practice

Oh I do hope they're bored out of their mind ! =D

Dwight : Guys.. It's been 20 minutes, should we maybe just leave ?

Meg : No ! We have to stay !

Dwight : Killer hasn't even moved for 15 minutes...

Meg : Wallowing in their misery ! We're wasting their time ! They're clearly ...*yawn* mad right now.

    Dwight : ...

    Meg : ...

    Dwight : ...

Well, technically all parties are deciding to stay in the game, the killer also has the power to start EGC, so it's on everyone for why the game us taking so long to end

Read this post from the Dead by Daylight subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/yxgla4/people_who_dont_leave_once_gens_are_completed/

Basically the op explains how he got stomped as Killer by a SWF Feng team, he decides to give up by going afk and taking his dog out for a walk to avoid any penalties. Except when he got back, the SWF was still there and when OP went to go see, they open the gates just to T-Bag and leave. According to op, he says they spent 30 minutes waiting just to make fun of him at the end. Now as someone who has been stomped and tackled by toxic Survivors every time I play Killer, this has to be the most confusing toxic method I've seen. Like, waiting 30 minutes game time just to T-Bag at someone you beat to show how better you are? Like are the Survivors okay or something?

    Just kick them out, jeez

Please never make Blood Warden basekit.

BW is already mostly useless as it is and works the few times it does only because no one suspects it. You make it base kit and the one thing that makes it have a potential impact is gone...

It's like lightborn, god forbid they never make it basekit or I'll never get value from it again, lol

  • @BrokeJotaro12 said:

So the survivor side has BT and Unbreakable built-in which is fair because of some killer mains but what about base kit perks for killer I find it kind of unbalanced of course their are some perks for killer I think should be base kit like blood Warden or no way out because survivors like to be toxic and brag about their escape because a killer had a bad game or because I'm sure hyperfocus will never get changed even though it completely reverses the 90 second gen nerf maybe deadlock?

Why even have perks if you're just gonna make them basekit? You have to consider EVERY killer will get a basekit change, so basically, you have to balance around nurse, that's probably 90% of the reason why we only got small buffs for 6.1

Also balance doesn't mean killers get something if survivors get something, it means bringing soloQ up to killer level, but they ALSO have to consider SWF

... welcome to game development, lol

They are? Wow, news for me tbh

Well i more so thought about strength of killer not how fun they are to play or how fun they are to face (altho i probably should mention Pig, Clown and Wraith earlier as well...).

Like men would i love Pyramid Head to be smoother and have better add-ons.

Well, Twins still aren't really strong, the only thing they have going for them is slugging, and even then, at least imo, they're mediocre at best

  • @TheMruczek said:

Aside Trapper, Sadako, Myers and Freddy most killers are fine.

What is the problem are maps and items that survivors can buy plenty of since they reduced the cost of bloodweeb.

Don't get me wrong some killers add-ons need to be nerfed as well but they appear way less often than let's say strong green toolboxes and medkits.

As for toxic behavior of survivors...i mean it is pretty normal even when you play a higher tier killer.

Again, maps need to be reworked but in a good way to prevent abusing the map offering, toolboxes and medkits deserve nerfs as well.

    You missed Twins

What's the difference between invincibility and endurance effect for .5 seconds ?

You have to go mend for a certain time, invincibility means going through hatches, traps, shocks, ect without repercussions

  • @Adaez said:

Dead hard is just as strong as it was before, its just harder to time it,but after you use it a while, its pretty easy.

Until it gets rid of the endurance effect that's still an extra health state, againts some killers is a guaranteed extra health state.

If they really wanted to nerf dead hard and balance it they would just make it so you get a few seconds of invincibility, not when you time dead hard correctly you get an extra health state and a speed boost.

It's fine to be a meta perk, it's just not straight up broken or unfair anymore

  • @Adaez said:

There seems to be a misconception that Doctor is this awful killer and one of the worst in the game to go againts or play.

To me he's close to what a perfectly balanced killer should look like.

I love going againts Doctors and play as him.

He has one of the most balanced kit in the game, great tracking, great gen pressure, great anti-loop,great addons, not too opressive in any category.

His chase is not the best but also not the worst,he has a little bit of everything, even jumpscares that are fun.

To me he's one of the most balanced middle of the pack killer that can be really very versatille and can run any build on him and do good on any map.

Indoor map?Not a problem.Big map?Not a problem. He has the tools to find survivors and pressure gens just as good on any map.

He's the definition of what a middle of the pack balanced killer should look like.

The screaming and madness is nowhere near as annoying as people make it to be and to me it makes the games more fun and interesting.

Also he can look like an absolute Chad with the right cosmetics,I love this one and is my favorite cosmetic in the game.

    https://i.postimg.cc/MZncXmyt/vsr4u07fddfhdfhe3c881.jpg

Eh, his queen could be better, to me his best add on combo is iri king and high stims, but as a doc main/simp, I 100% agree that he is all around balanced and his tracking is very underrated

It takes a while to find a new totem and then like 15 seconds to bless, I'm not saying it's not good, I'm just saying they have to go through quite a process to set it up and get value

  • @Seraphor said:

As a Dredge main, I think he is quite good.

    1. Locked lockers don't really pose that much of an issue. I don't use lockers as a chase power anyway, exiting them instantly is usually not a make-or-break issue. I use them for speedy map traversal, and whether it takes 1 seconds or 3 seconds to exit, it's still faster than walking. Plus, they can only be locked once. I often burst out of locked lockers purely to break them. Dredge is one of the few killers I actually have the time to do stuff like this with, because of the freedom of movement that locker teleporting provides.
    2. Forcing survivors away from a strong loop is still a decent move. When I play an M1 killer like Ghostface, I can get stuck on a loop for ages, running around it dozens of times waiting for the survivor to drop the pallet, only to get stunned, break the pallet, and then move to the next loop. Forcing survivors to hold W takes so much time out of the equation. It gets them away from strong loops, and then when they do get to a weak loop, I can actually use the anti-loop aspect of his power more effectively and secure a hit.
    3. I almost never count on Nightfall as a stealth power, I use it purely for the reduced teleport cooldown and killer instinct, which are both invaluable. Being able to quickly locate other survivors, and then quickly catch up to them, is a killer power without parallel. It's like playing Doctor and Nurse at the same time. The closest thing to this would be Legions Frenzy or Sadako/Wesker when a survivor becomes fully condemned/infected, but those all have limitations. Nightfall occurs regularly, can be sped up by my actions, and the info is triggered directly by my actions.

He might be fine if he didn't auto tele to the locked locker when there are 2 lockers side by side, because then the survivor can do it twice in the same spot, then you are comparing 2 seconds to 6 seconds which I feel like could be game changing

  • @Grigerbest said:

Let's take a look at what this killer can do...

    1. He can teleport to lockers.
    2. He have a pretty solid anti-loop.
    3. He have a passive buildup ability. (Nightfall)

In theory he is a pretty strong killer. He has mobility, anti-loop, map pressure. What could go wrong...?

Now let's take a look in a practical way (counters to all his powers):

    1. You can lock the lockers to a nearby gens that you want to repare, so it will take him additional time to brake through the locker. You can also clearly hear him coming out from a locker, so you can instantly change direction if you're in a chase. Basically, it completely counters his teleport.
    2. The killers which have a strong anti-loop getting countered by only 1 tactic - Shift W to a next loop. So if you see he put his remnant down (or hear), just run away to a next tile or loop. If he tries to teleport there, use point 1. (change direction, you are going to hear him coming out from a locker)
    3. If you have a healthy ears and a decent headphones, he will never catch you off guard with his nightfall. All you need to do is just hear closely, since he's really loud when it comes to nightfall.

I think the Dredge is one of the killers, which completely depends on a maps, lockers rng and survivors mistakes.

The sounds that he makes when he uses his ability's are just completely grounding his potential to be a good killer.

The killer just as weak as Sadako (he might be even worse tho).

    What do you think?

He is not Sadako level trash, she's in a tier on her own, dredge is probably a solid B for me, but maybe my opinion doesn't count because I also put doc as a solid B and I'm not sure if those 2 are equal in tiers....

Eruption, Call of the Brine and Pain Resonance are three perks almost every killer brings almost every game. The latter two are fine on their own, but Eruption makes the combo of all three so, so obnoxious to play against.

Eruption wins games for killers who may not deserve to win. It can carry that hard.

It will be nerfed eventually, but the devs are really, really slow at balancing perks even if urgent balance changes need to happen.

    4. Thou shalt not run the Killer to the generator unless that generator has already been done.
    5. Thou shalt learn to equip Kindred/Bond/Situational Awareness or other such perks that let them know where you are or what objective you are doing.
    6. Thou shalt have at least one exhaustion perk in your loadout at all times.
    7. Thou shalt not take another Survivor's chest (especially when they have Plunder's and Ace in the Hole).
    8. No MIther is unholy and those that equip it shalt be t-bagged unmercifully when they are hooked.
    9. Thou shalt not break Hex totems unless they are already know the effects of that totem (unless potential Devoured Hope).
    10. Thou shalt learn that Prestige does not always equal skill.

Obviously listed in good fun. Please think of more to add to the list of commandments that make up the solo queue of DBD or come up with a SWF list of commandments to make for some interesting reading.

Just had 3 matches in a row, playing solo survivor, where a survivor DC'd.

It ruins the game, not just for killers, but the remaining survivors.

Surely killers are aware of this, so my question is this, why do some killers decide to slug in the same match for the 4k?

My experience has already been ruined by a selfish survivor, I stay in the match knowing I cannot win, but then having to spend the last 5 minutes of the match alternating between being slugged, being picked up and instantly downed again.

I don't have an issue with slugging itself, in a 4v1 match, but when the match stops being this, I just don't get the point.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying all killers do this, but in those 3 matches, this happened twice.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3259764#Comment_3259764

Sure, but the killer doesn't have to care about that. As far as the team is concerned, the team was punished for the mistakes.

The killer is against a team of survivors, 4 survivors, 4 items, 12 hook states, 16 perks. The killer doesn't know if you're solo queue randoms or a SWF team. You're all the same, and the killer just wants to eliminate you as quickly as possible. If the team members are going to screw each other over, it's their mistake to make.

Now I get it that killers can pass their own judgement and decide to look favourably on 'victims' of their team mates, but you don't know the circumstances of this team or why they're doing what they're doing.

Hell I've done it in the past, I've had two survivors left, I down Feng who's on death hook, so I slug with the intention of letting Kate pick her up so I can get a hook on Kate instead, who hasn't been hooked at all yet. Kate abandons her team mate, leaving her to bleedout on the ground, and I'm not for that. I'm playing Ghost Face and I have the add on that shows the auras of survivors when you down someone who's exposed. So I pick up Feng, let her wiggle free, stalk her while she nods and teabags, down her again and see Kate's aura hiding in the corner. I find Kate, hook her, and ultimately give Feng hatch in sympathy for her lousy team mate. Good job right?

Turns out, they were a SWF and Kate needed an escape for a challenge, Feng was trying to sacrifice herself.

Moral of the story is, you cannot win. You try to do the 'right thing' as killer (as if you should even have to worry about that when survivors don't) and you get it wrong 50% of the time. Sometimes survivors don't want sympathy escapes, I've even had people DC on me out of spite instead of accepting a free hatch. So just don't bother caring about it in the first place. Kill who you're going to kill.

I mean if I wanna try to do the "right thing" as the killer, I'm doing it in a heart beat, feng should've portrayed her intents better by pointing to a hook or something

Just as the sentence "Lying is bad!" makes no sense, neither does "Slugging is bad!".

Slugging is neither good nor bad.

It is a mechanic, and technically speaking, it is therefore neutral.

It is its use that defines its "understandable" or "deplorable" side.

    It depends on the situation.

A killer who puts a survivor in critical condition, and he leaves him on the ground to take care of another (wounded) survivor who is running around with a flashlight: totally understandable, and amply deserved.

A killer who slugs a survivor in mid/end game to put some pressure on his opponents because they are quite a bit ahead of him: understandable and strategic.

A killer who is not under any big pressure from the team of survivors he is facing, and who slugged 3 people in the early game, in order to get a 4K, taking advantage of the fact that he is stronger than his opponents : pitiful behavior, but what can you do ...

Don't forget the killers that go back and can't pinpoint the moaning of the downed survivor... I'm guilty of that, lol

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3259391#Comment_3259391

A "Safe unhook" is a pretty well established idea at this point. Don't make mistakes and the killer can't use them against you. Survivors really be teabagging in the killers face then surprised pikachu when they get hit.

Killers don't actually have any rules to follow, you're supposed to not let them win, not expect them to forfeit out of sympathy.

It's not like the victims wanted to be unhooked in front of the killers face

I was playing doctor for a daily and I got 4 spicy survivors. 2 brand new parts and an insta heal.

The survivors were Zarina, Ace, Claudette and Meg.

I hook Ace, I go for Claudette. Ace gets unhooked as I down Claudette and something interesting happens. Meg unhooks Claudette right behind me. What do I do? I go for Claudette again since Meg did the mistake of unhooking right behind me for no reason. I hook Claudette again and this Meg unhooks her once again right behind me. I go for Claudette again and kill her.

The next one I find is Ace. I down Ace and (guess what?) Meg did the mistake of unhooking Ace right behind me. I go for Ace again and kill him.

At the end of the match when all gens got done, I hook Zarina and Meg escapes. I got 3 kills out of this.

In end game chat I got called "serial tunneler". I told them several times that Meg was the real killer but they only knew a few words. "Tunnel no skill" and some personal insults towards my family members and that's where I reported them for hate speech.

Moral of the story: don't unhook right behind the killer if it's not needed and don't blame the killer for going after you for your teammate's mistake. Thank you for reading.

You could've killed Meg, everyone would've been happier

I'm a survivor main, who currently plays killer, at least a few times a day. I don't have any problem playing killer in regards to experience/skill, and this isn't some rant about which side needs buffs or nerfs.

I play survivor so much that it can often feel boring, and i ponder the thought of playing some killer.  I love many killers and how they're designed, and i'd love to invest the same, if not, more time into playing as killer. However, when i play killer, the mindset is completely different. You can't use a fun or experimental build like you can in survivor, without the real expectation that you're probably gonna get pwned. Sometimes it feels like the system is against you, and you have to play aggressively to come close to winning. It feels like all hell is going to break loose, if you don't kill at least one survivor in the trial, or you've failed completely. This is regardless of how many hooks you got.

When i play as survivor, winning means almost nothing to me. I can take the fat L consecutively. As killer, it genuinely sucks. I've gone so far as to play Nurse with a sweaty build and secure the 4k at 3gens. Then i'll feel empty, like i didn't really enjoy playing so sweaty, like i didn't really deserve the win too. However, i'll play a killer whose playstyle i genuinely enjoy. A killer that isn't considered as strong at high MMR. Then i'll get served by a sabo squad or something like that. Before you know it, the only real move left when you've completely lost pressure, is to start camping and tunnelling. Which i don't think anyone enjoys.

I asked a popular twitch streamer who plays killer almost always, "What's the secret to becoming a killer main" The response i got was "You have to secretly enjoy pain" . I don't really know what to do with that so my question goes out to other killer mains i guess. How do you do it? How do you take the L and move on so religiously. How do you shake off the competitive mindset, and play for fun. No matter the build, no matter the killer you've picked, and regardless of the outcome. Do i just need anger management? Do i have an inflated ego, or are you guys just built different.

    Thanks

I 2 hook everyone, that's honestly what I enjoy the most, if I accidentally sacrifice someone, I'm so sad, lol

Both provides free hits if the survivor goes expecting to use the pallet and its fake, its same value. We could argue docs is better because he doesn't even have to waste his time to put them, it keeps spawning back. Or we could argue Freddys better because he can get some value before start breaking pallets. But thats besides the point, imo freddy would be fine having both snares and pallets, having only pallets feels like a meme build/powerless killer.

The illusion pallet activates as the survivor approaches it, so they have a second or two to realize "oh, just keep holding W"

    how about

    C) i'm bored waiting on hook im gonna wave my arms like i just don't care

But yeah it is a problem i find. Best solution if your constantly in this situation is to run kindred so everyone knows if the killer is camping and waht everyone else is doing at the time.

Yeah...if you think that fixes the problem, you're funny, kindred helps like 1/10 times, everyone else will still ignore you even if they don't see killer aura

At this point I feel like I need to run open handed to show my teammates THE KILLER IS NOT NEAR ME

    Gosh, irritating sometimes
