I honestly haven't watched to much content on this killer and for sure aint buying it but i have heard that the aura reading is very OP on them. However i would argue that a lot of killers have something like that.
Wraith (especially silent bell wall hack), myers and ghostface can be overly oppressive on indoor map with aura reading
Huntress (A good one) can be very opressive on an open map with aura reading for cross maps
Blight and nurse in general with aura reading is very oppressive
Henry with aura reading is a force to be reakoned with (bias here because i main him and aura reading on him is just SOOO good)
The point is aura reading may be powerful on this killer but this isn't a new concept at all so it shouldn't really matter -

Well still it could be just person listing not listing it on the right section or not seeing a point to make section for small change when last time community did complain of small changes they made. Feels like they are doomed if they do or not do. :P
Oh for sure but it would look a lot better having a small note saying that they will make this change to make the killer better to play rather than saying after 6 years we are finally fixing this bug. Regardless if it was meant to be a bug or not having it in the bug fix after 6 years kinda a bad look

Oh yeah man Vigil is unfairly OP because it helps you recover from statuses faster so we have to gut it to only having a 30% effect on Exhaustion recovery and also remove everything else from it but lets throw in a hex totem that starts the game unlit which deletes Distance Making perks. "Just break the totem" when in Solo Queue totems go the whole match without even being found.
We are for real in a state of
"If you don't like being tunneled bring anti tunnel"
"If you don't like hexes bring an anti hex build"
"Just run Kindred its solo queue"
yeah sure bro I'll get right on filling up all 24 of my own personal perk slots up with these counters.
They just added a tunnel affirming Hex totem which works insanely well with restrictive perks and negative status effects and its a "just break the totem" problem for you?
If Vigil is a problem just catch the survivor. if old DH was a problem just catch the survivor, if Circle of Healing was a problem just stomp the totem. Not gonna lie. Vigil was never a problem in my games. I actually do what you suggest…Catch the survivor. Im sorry but you respond to everyone crying about this perk then when someone actually gives you the simple counter to it. AKA break the totem, you go straight to "Must be a killer main saying skill issue". Honestly sure ill bite. if you can't play the game and break a hex totem then yeah MASSIVE skill issue.
Don't get why anyone can complaint about a hex totem that can literally be removed from that game. Sure TOTH can make it hard to clense but thats the same for every hex in the game.
I also find it laughable that you said" "Just break the totem" when in Solo Queue totems go the whole match without even being found"
If you have every played a game as killer with a hex totem and run lethal pursuer you will see that in i would say 70% of your games 1 survivor spawns basicly on top of the totem lol. If you can't find totems then that really is a you problem because unless you have less than 200 ish hours in the game its really not difficult to learn totem spawns.
Bottom line. If your going against this hex perk constantly then just don't run exhaustion perks run something different. The killers you mention who have high mobility it doesn't matter if you have your extra haste or not its not going to make much difference and it for sure isn't going to be the difference between a win or lose. -

I would say it was not really a bug at all. Originally it was meant to not go up but with how the game has evolved most likely the devs saw it as unfair downside on a killer who already can have hard time as Executioner is not that strong really and not the easiest killer to play. They could have had it in the killer changes section but in the end it was added in the bug section. Interesting thing is that the report I made of it was never really even added "Under Investigation" so seems like the devs themselves realized how unfair limitation was that his power because totally useless if survivor changed elevation.
my comment was more a dig that this change wasn't a change to the killer. it was a "Bug Fix" so the devs themselves are admitting that its a big that they just never fixed.
We all know its not a bug (or i would hope not for the sake of the devs) but its just so funny that they would rather claim it a big they have fixed rather than just have it as a small killer change. -
Could this be a world record for the longest time a "Bug" has been unpatched in a video game?

unfortunately- (and this is gonna sound harsh) but its the TRUTH. someone having bad connection is NOT anyone elses problem but THEIR OWN. if you have bad hardware, its you're issue to fix, not everyone elses to put up with.
Realistically if you have bad internet you probably shouldnt be playing pvp online games full stop, theres plenty of story or offline games that accommodate you're internet.
Yeah your right. 100% harsh. your saying if you can't afford the hardware despite having good enough to play the game you can't play with us.
This game isn't that serious. if you have a bit of a rough game because of ping issues 1/20 then whats the big deal. if it bothers you that much then go next and move on. Realisticly your not playing against people high enough ping to make a difference often enough to care surely. As i said before if you are going against people that often with that high ping then firstly i would say record the evidence and secondly maybe your connecting to the wrong server and thats the issue -

ridiculous that everyone has to endure a horrible game because someone has mcdonalds wifi. people with 200ms should not be allowed to ready up, it should say something like "Network is experiencing high traffic, please try again later.
if not, survivors should be allowed to abandon against red barring/vpning killers
Is it really that big of a deal. Your basicly saying you wanna ban anyone who can't afford decent internet or ban those who doesn't live near servers that they have no control over.
Realisticly your not going against high ping killers often enough to make it a major issue. If you are then maybe your connecting to the wrong servers and your game is the issue not the killers.
How would you react if you booted up the game to play DBD and for several weeks you were hit with "Network is experiencing high traffic, please try again later" all because you didnt live near enough to the closest server? -

See this isn't something i would stop playing over but your 100% right. Even the really important things players don't stop playing the game. Unfortunately nothing will ever change as long as players keep playing games they arn't happy with because at the end of the day player count and sales is all they really care about and as long as they are high then why would they ever change it.

If your loss rate is so low it's a rounding error that's an automatic win my guy. I don't know any other game where one side having a 99%+ winrate is acceptable if they bring a build.
Again there are to many factors. If i play 100 matches and go against 100 teams that are here to meme about and have fun and im here to win then i will win all 100 games. But if i go against 100 teams that are playing to win then im not going to win all games and unlikely im gonna win over half of them.
What you fail to understand that a winstreak in this game means NOTHING. It shows no skill, it shows no accomplishment. All it shows is how unbalanced the MMR is in this game. It has nothing to do with how good or bad a killer is. -
@esarraf said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4095387#Comment_4095387
That's… kinda the point. It should not be possible for someone to just automatically win. Seriously would you be okay if they brought back old brand new parts so survivors can auto win or is it only killers that should get the auto win pass?
There is no such thing as automatic win. Only if survivors give up will a killer auto win and visa versa. And yea sure bring back old brand new spare parts. I survived that era of DBD once ill survive it again. And i still won't run gen regression XD

@esarraf said:
Guys, Jason is totally not broken. Being able to go on winstreaks for more than a hundred games is totally fair and shows how well designed they are.
To be fair any killer can have a huge win streak if you pick a build that really works and you play sweaty. Someone like Hens is clearly very skilled at this game so its not really an accomplishment to get this sort of kill streak because he is going against survivors unaware of how sweaty the game is going to be.
A large win streak also doesn't show that a killer is "broken" either as it has so many factors. All it shows is that the player understands the killer well and is good at the game. its more about the player than the killer. -

Well if all the top 10k hour streams are saying it I guess it's time to shut our brains off and let our opinions and thinking be outsourced to some parasocial randos, huh?
Yes, survivors got more toys and things to do in this event. Historically, anniversary events have been very killer sided so I can at least recognize that it's nice survivors got some love this time around. It's not like every survivor team can just stumble and fall into a win though. Playing killer, I've had a handful of very frustrating matches against teams that played very coordinated and took full advantage of the event's mechanics but by and large those aren't the matches that are happening. I've had my but handed to me as a solo queue survivor plenty of times and have 4k or 3k + hatch as killer plenty of times. I got a 4k with hag yesterday - hag!
If you really want to faceroll your way to victory, use the poisons and play Bubba. I have yet to lose a single match where I ran that. I just switch to other killers because eventually it starts feeling cheap not having to try.
If you cared to read the entire thing im saying EVERYONE is saying it. And yes if the top players and members of the DBD creator program are saying it then yeah i believe them more than a random guy on the internet trying to say the oposite. bottom line is its undenyable what this event is.

I BELIEVE I SPEAK FOR EVERY KILLER MAIN HERE because I GENUINELY cannot understand how this event made it past playtesting.
The Black Banquet is one of the most one-sided anniversary events you've ever released. As someone who plays both sides, I don't even enjoy Survivor in this mode because there is almost no tension. Matches hand out progress and escapes far too easily. You honestly have to SUCK at survivor if you lose in this gamemode.
Survivors have access to absurdly powerful effects:
- Unbreakable pallets. (FOR TWO MINUTES????)
- Temporary invisibility with no scratch marks, no pools of blood, no grunts of pain, no aura reading, and almost no information for the Killer. (WTFFFFF WITH THISSS)
- Free endurance that lets them shrug off a hit they should have taken. (body blocking INSANE here)
- Speed boosts that drag chases out even longer.
- PORTALS?????
- Suddenly GAINING an entire health state for no reason
Meanwhile, Killers get a poison bottle. And the ocassional temporary Lightborn (which is just stupid).
A single projectile that survivors can often dodge, with a payoff that barely matters compared to what survivors are getting.
How did anyone think this was remotely balanced?
Dead by Daylight is already an asymmetrical 1v4 game. Every advantage given to one survivor gets multiplied across the whole team. Handing four players several powerful event abilities while leaving the lone Killer with almost nothing creates a miserable experience for the person on the other side of the match.
The frustrating part is that you already had an anniversary formula people enjoyed.
Twisted Masquerade gave both sides event powers that actually changed the match in a fun way. Killers had tools that gave them a real role in the event and let them interact with the map and survivors in a meaningful way. Both roles got mechanics that made the mode feel special instead of lopsided.
Why throw that away?
Why strip out one of the best parts of your anniversary events and replace it with this?
Instead, Killers are stuck watching survivors chain invisibility, endurance, speed boosts, and indestructible pallets while throwing a bottle and hoping it lands.
The result is a string of matches that feel exhausting for Killer players and dull for everyone else.
And this isn't just Killers complaining. I've seen the same reaction on Reddit, the official forums, and other community sites. I've asked survivors in post-game chat, including multiple P100 players, and even they admitted the mode is heavily survivor-sided. Some even told me they even stopped playing killer because of how unbalanced it is.
When both sides are saying the same thing, the balance is clearly off.
Anniversary events should make people want to queue up on every role. This one pushes Killer players away.
Replacing Twisted Masquerade with Black Banquet feels like a massive step backward. The anniversary should be the time when everyone is excited to jump in, and this version leaves one side carrying all the pressure while the other gets all the toys.
Please take another look at the balance. Tone down the survivor abilities, give Killers event powers that actually matter, or go back to the kind of design that made Twisted Masquerade enjoyable for both sides.
There is literally ZERO reason for killer mains to try this gamemode.
So as a fellow killer main i thought i would drop my honest thoughts on this event
Originally i was not happy. first few games completely destroyed because of how much the survivor gets. but as the games go on there really is only one aspect that effects me as a killer and thats the portals and Invisibility. That food item should, if the survivor has even a few hours in the game, make every chase a free escape. simply run to a portal and boom you escape.
The unbreakable pallets and invincibility doesn't bother me. wait out the invincibilty and as Henry i don't care about pallets. The speed boost again doesn't bother me as i can predict them running straight line and get the hit with power.
I think the big issue is this event is only winable without really really sweatting for a handful of killers.
Any killers that rely on M1 might as well not bother and if you draw the version with portals and Invis then just grab some quick points and pray the game is over quickly because its not really winnable unless your willing to try and hardcore tunnel someone out to get a kill and hope you can snowball. For me the issue isnt the unbalance of the event. at the end of the day devs would rather favor the many than the few (4 vs 1) but what bothers me the most about the event is the fun aspect. Survivors get to play around with the foods, banquets and have a good time. Killers get to throw poison which is only good if you are playing an insta down killer. There is really no new gameplay aspect from the killer and i would say this isn't any more fun than normal matches for killer arguably less fun because of the ballance issue.
Overall dissapointed with Behaviour. They have really shown that they don't care about the greater community with this event. Its one thing for us lot to complain on the forums but when all the top streamers and their own Creators complaining about the event they really need to open their eyes and realise that they messed up.
Very little faith left in new events -

Yeah, they're tuned in all right, but I question whether they are able to interpret what they're seeing; like a toddler watching a physics TED Talk.
Like so many businesses nowadays, they can't see past the quarterly numbers. If their goal is long term engagement, this play is almost comically misguided, imoThe reason i come to that conclusion is if it truely bothered players that much why would they continue to play. Player count for steam is still over 100k which is massive. Would have thought if majority was that annoyed about this cake issue that the player count would be much lower.

I could argue BHVR drew attention to it by lowering it in the first place when they could have listened to last years feedback so it wouldn't be something they needed to deal with now.
Regardless, it's clearly significant enough to enough people in this community, even if it's not something that bothers you, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about it. Your reason to play this game isn't more important than theirs.
Im not saying my reason to play is more important at all you have just read far to much into what i have said. End of the day the cake issue isn't a big deal for majority of the player base as everyone still continues to play the game despite complaining.

You only get that many if you play killer. It's around 20 if you level survivor.
That's not what people's main complaint is though - it's that they have progressively gotten lower the last 2 years for no obvious reason other than "it's intended", when the drop rate for the first 5 years worth of anniversary cakes was similar and the game was doing fine.
The reason they don't want to give as many cakes is because they want players to slow down with progression. I personally don't see the big thrill in progression and i play because i like the game its self. I think players need to assess why they play this game. If they play to get p100 and thats it then why not play something other than DBD that has rewarding progression. If you don't play for prestige then you don't need cakes.
All this cake issue is doing is drawing attention away from other parts of the game that needs addressing and instead focusing on something that in the grand scheme of the game is insignifficant. -
What is wrong with the amount of cakes? 27 per prestige level when it only takes about 8 games to prestige during the event you will have plenty of cakes. Not to mention you will be stacking the other 100% BP offerings.

You do understand that regression like ruin worked on those gens, right? Right? I dont understand why people here always try to defend something with false informations.
No one is defending anything that is false. Regression did not win you games in blood moon event guarenteed. You speak as if it was busted event because regression perks are a thing failing to even understand the points being made that there is no way to track survivors as they are walking around the map with cans, 5 second fill up then back to walking around the map. Regardless of the amount of regression perks you bring that event just enabled stealth gameplay and made it incredibly hard for killers.

Easy answer is no. They don't want us burning thru the prestige because there would be nothing left to do once we have all level 100 prestige. You know apart from the actual game which you would think they should have enough faith that the game alone will keep people playing not just a leveling system

Thats really funny.
Masquerade events werent survivor sided at all. Just recall remote everything last masquerade for killers. That alone already invalidates your take.
Bloodhunt isnt even an event to begin with, cause there is nothing extra added besides BP-multiplier. How can this be survivor sided?
2vs8 would have needed to be survivorsided, to even make this mode work. But it wasnt that often.
Esp. Halloween you can just make a forum search and you will find dozens of threads mentioning how unfair for survivor this was by times. Here again just take a look again at last year.
Regardless of anything there is no denying this event is insanely survivor sided. Only people saying it isn't is the hardcore survivors who never play killer lol. Even the top streamers of the game and the actual DBD Creators are slating this event. Its just a 100% Flop of an event and kinda sets the tone for the next 10 years of the game lol
Also Bloodhunt this year had its own event with the fuel canisters and such. so yeah that was just very unfair to killers as it was to easy to complete the gens as survivors -

See the issue is why should either side have to work that hard to get a win. Even if you play the event not going for the win the killer side of the event is just plain boring. its throwing a poison at a table in the hope that a surivor picks that table out of many. Where as survivors have side objective with the banquet and fun buffs to play with. I don't think it would be bad to have it more one sided than the other IF the event was actually fun for both sides

The event is completely broken in terms of balance. Most events are but never to this degree of unballance.
Honestly if im gonna play DBD right now its gonna be base game because at least there we have a chance at a balanced game (although still survivors DCing against The First for some reason) -

Honestly if they don't do anything about it given its the 10th aniversary this game won't make the 11th aniversary because faith will have all been lost

Honestly why are we even bothering to complain. We know nothing will change. They went on record previously saying they don't want people stacking up offerings because reasons.

If you are referring to Jason, he is overtuned.
Never have I ever seen a killer with THIS much BS mechanics since I started playing in 2018. And that is putting it mildly.I would arguse The First was and still is overtuned lol. And i say that as a Vecna (The First) Main

The fact that this is your first post gives the impression that its a troll post, but ill play ball.
"run meta or get crushed"- if thats your impression, theres 1 of 3 reasons why it could be. 1) you've ran meta which has inflated your mmr past casual levels to the point you cannot exist playing "casual", 2) your secretly one of the 1% that 40% of this forum thinks they are part of or 3) killers/survivor casual players have been bullied out of the community, so you tend to get a better level of survivor/killer as the casuals get bullied out. Im assuming you believe its the third, but my suggestion is going to be its the first. try resetting your mmr, and playing without it. you might lose a couple games but it should (especially when theres a bunch of players) balance out eventually.
"if you dont slug or tunnel as killer you get abused by OP survivor perks"- see point 1 about resetting mmr, and take losses on the chin. Its sometimes unfun, but eventually you can be a casual gamer like a lot of us are.
"BHVR has nurtured their game poorly"- sadly this is not the case, as its easy to blame the game designers. Asymmetrical horrors have this issue, as do all online multiplayer games that pit people against each other. Toxicity is just a part of game due to its innate 1v4 nature, and theres nothing BHVR could do to completely stomp that out. Now is that to say they couldnt have implemented chat restrictions sooner, no, but they arent to blame for this community.
"nobody finds fun anymore"- theres lots of people who find it fun, thats how the games lasted so long. However, the better you get/play the stronger people you'll be against, and the less "casual" your experience will be.
"its our fault for becoming this way but its behaviour's fault for letting it slide"- im heavily of the opinion that had bhvr implemented half the stuff they have now it would've died off on release. chat restrictions, ip bans and much more moderation might've killed the game from those more toxic/sweaty (who were a majority of the playerbase back then and we are slowly shifting to becoming more friendly to newcomers) . I don't think we'd have made it to this point without those toxic tryhards, who kept the game afloat for years before it became the icon it is now. But yes, they couldve done more, however the blame primarily resides in the players, not BHVR
I was preparing a response to OP and happened to read the rest of the responses first and you posted nearly word for word what i wanted to post XD.
As you said guys first post so likely hood is they have lost a lot and want to find any excuse as to why other than the fact that they are just not good at DBD lol. -

According to wikipedia, the closed Beta started at the end of May:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_by_Daylight
It is very likely that you were able to purchase the game before it was fully released. The first time I heard of DBD was at the 8th of June 2016 when a Youtuber I watched played it, so it was 100% accessible before the 14th of June.
Potentially when i was brought it as a gift it was a pre purchase then which would make sense if they had a closed beta.
I honestly don't even remember the game from 2016. I think i played like 2 matches before i got frustrated with my PC not running it correctly. -
The having to buy new hardware is kinda out of behaviours control however if they end support for these old consoles the least they can do is offer a free copy for the console of choice to anyone who owns the outdated versions.

Im of the belief if your game runs long enough it's should always keep what people bought it on and until the game ends
So based on that logic how would you feel if behaviour turned around and said "Support for DBD will be ending in a years time". Introducing DBD 2 only on PC and Next Gen consoles?

Not everyone can afford the ridiculously priced new consoles.
Plus, I find it ironic that fog and tall grass had to go because of preformance issues, but giving Kate a smoother face is a priority over people with old hardware.
Your right they can't however there has to be a point where companies have to say basically unlucky chucky. Look at mobile gaming. Pokemon go is also 10 years old this year and support for that game ends after roughly 5 years for phones. Most people have the latest iphone or android spending upwards of £800 every 2 to 3 years and that is seen as fine. But you ask someone to upgrade their console even every 5 to 7 years and its world war 3.
The hard truth is these older systems hold back the game.

It all depends. If it's a complete rebuild similar to how Ark survival did then it won't be possible to just have lower settings. It'll it's just a graphics update without a rebuild then in theory they could have options for lower graphics
