Will cake rarity get changed at next bugfix?

I am just very interested about this and I don't follow every social media.

Did devs make a statement?

  • They haven't and knowing what we know now it's not even a rarity issue it's that they're in fixed bloodweb and changing the rarity wouldn't fix that.

Well, then hopefully we do get rate increased to celebrate new game decade.

  • It unfortunately seems intentional.

After they removed the event rarity, the items started to spawn as Rare or Very Rare

  • Well, this CAN be fixed, but the core issue is WILL it be fixed?
The simplest fix would be to rewrite the rarity back to "Event" like the cakes used to be before last year's event, and "un-script" the spawns, so that more can appear in the bloodwebs.

During the 8th anniversary and the years before that, it wasn't uncommon seeing 2-3 cakes PER BLOODWEB.

  • Easy answer is no. They don't want us burning thru the prestige because there would be nothing left to do once we have all level 100 prestige. You know apart from the actual game which you would think they should have enough faith that the game alone will keep people playing not just a leveling system

  • The only thing that would make them actually back down on this would be if play count dropped by a significant amount.

Which won't happen, because most DbD players don't really care about this as much as their complaining indicates.

If people actually cared they would uninstall the game until BHVR blinks first. This isn't the kind of community that actually pushes back when BHVR takes the piss.

So, no, they aren't going to change anything else about the cakes. I wouldn't be surprised if the "fix" that was applied after initial complaints wasn't always the planned response knowing this would be unpopular.
