My fellow killer mains, please help me by letting me know your thoughts here.
When I play killer I try to leave all 4 survivors alive until everyone has been hooked at least once. I can understand that it doesn’t feel good to lose and tunneling makes it easier to put pressure on survivors but what I’m trying to understand is what is actually making killers to feel pressured to do this on a regular basis.
I’ve been playing more survivor lately because the blood point bonus is over there most of the time and I’m usually straight on a gen so I tend to be the first survivor found. 6 out of 10 games I get tunneled out. I know this is a skill issue on my part (I’m not a great survivor lol).I guess to sum it up, what types of changes would make you feel more comfortable to spread pressure rather than focus a survivor out. (P.S. I don’t blame people for tunneling and it’s okay to play how you want to. I just want to see if there can be a world where tunneling isn’t a thing)
I tunnel for three reasons:
1. The obvious fact that you simply have a higher chance of winning with one survivor out the game.
2. I don't get anything from not tunneling. There are usually 2 types of people if you don't tunnel. There are the one's that just play normally (I'm completely fine with that obviously), and there are the one's that start taunting as soon as you don't do it. I rather kill them quickly and give them a reason to not taunt me.
3. Also if I start tunneling at the start of the game I can always stop if it's too easy then, but I couldn't come back from that maybe if I start at the second half. So it's generally always a good idea to start like this and then stop if you want to.

Lately 2v8 has not been fun. Each game it’s 2 killers vs 1 survivor. Why is this a thing? There’s no way to get out of that situation because your downed so quick. Is even fun for anyone anymore?
What did you expect going into this mode? The entire point of it to have 2 killers against 8 survivors and of course they help each other sometimes. That's literally the point xD
-
@Wraff said:
You literally have a system in 2v8 that determines gen speeds based on how well the Killers or Survivors are doing in game and you haven't put this thing into normal DBD? Really?
Because this system is horrible, I lost more often than not in 2vs8 because I was too fast than I lost because I was too slow, and that's just stupid like this xD

exactly, and it would also provide a better mental environment in general if they wouldnt incentivice slugging for the 4K. Thats just dragging out an already decided match
Yes there was a time where I did this regulary but it's honestly just such a hustle for nothing. Now I just do it if you somehow annoy me (flashlight squads for example) a lot or if I know where you are anyways (but later is also not what drags out matches so that doesn't matter).

I know i know, i'm not a good survivors. But i have played around 25 survivor matches since its release and i didn't face judgement ONCE. I played it a bit myself, but as expected it's not a killer for me. I was so sad that i only faced legions or huntresses and one wesker. Am i the only one?
I would say it's the same issue that singularity has/had, she's pretty tiring to play for actually a good power, but you first have to get through that for her power to actually feel good. I think it might even be worse because singularity at least is 4.6 and could potentially still play m1, with judgement it's simply not possible with her 4.4.
I have played her around 20 matches currently and basically just spam her power to get better with it even if I could m1, it's honestly quite frustrating sometimes but it's needed. I think most people won't do this.
The fact that she's the only killer you have to 360 with to hit doesn't make it much more accesable I think. That being said it's also fun :D

@Mooks said:
i am a mediocre to bad killer player but usually for the adepts for Killers in under 10 Matches - even back when it wasnt 4K bit emblem based? Is it really that hard…?
The most annoying part is getting a 4 K over hatch escape - but even then Killers have the slight advantage finding the hatch faster..
It's really not that bad honestly, I think the most tries I needed were 5, most were first or second try for me. But I'm also killer main and can play all killers to some extend.
It's just weird that you actually have to slug for the 4k if you don't want to gamble while survivors can also get it by escaping the hatch. It would be nice if it were 3k + hatch or 4k - at least is that what would make it better for me because that's how I count wins :D

Pretty cool to go against. I haven't played her.. him... yet but going against is engaging. I dont understand the other dimension portion tho. I get you have to shine the light at faces but I dont know why.
Its cool ya, but honestly I'd rather just go on a hook lol.
If I remember right it increases the duration of the unhook-effects after getting saved (so duration, speed and elusive). The beams make you lose your hook-duration quicker I think.
-
@ForTheEntity said:
With survivor it's always been simple. You escape and get your adept. Pretty easy. Usually a decent player can get it in 3 or less attempts and if they're unlucky but not a quitter they'll get it in under 10 attempts, guaranteed. And that's for someone with a bit of experience who just throws on the perks and goes for it. I got my Aurora adept first try without breaking a sweat.
But killer? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit unless you get a total newb squad or people who aren't trying to survive you gotta at least have some skill with the power and do greasy crap to get that 4K. Slug for the 4K at the minimum and probably opportunistically tunnel if not tunnel from the get go knowing some of these killer's perks. Already did 3 hopeless Judgement rounds.
Why is it not just get a 3K as killer when all a survivor needs to do is escape?
At least it's not 4 iridescent anymore, that was so much worse because bubba, michael or billy simply destroyed their iris with instadowns xD

Yeah I noticed. It seems like you have to ignore those gens at all.
You basically only have 2-3 places per building to hit the lower floor, ether through the hole or the stairs should work at main or the 2 stairs at the house with the basement with the gen.
I didn't play badham yet, but this should work from what I've seen from midwich and rpd.

as we know endurance and haste after unhook was reduced from 15s→10s and elusive was added for 10s
The problem? Now its actually EASIER to tunnel , heres why:
Since the status effects are all in sync at 10s, now the killer literally has an audio AND visual cue of exactly when the endurance runs out. If im playing lets say kaneki and after i hear the unhook notification, io go back to the hook, all i have to do is follow the unhooked person and the moment i see scratch marks or hear them start groaning again i instantly know its worn off and can m1.
Originally if a killer followed you off hook, theyd either have to count the 15s and hope they timed it right or they might hit too early, now that will never happen. the killer will always know when to m1
TL;DR The existence of elusive being in sync with endurance weakens the endurance more than intended due to the fact it acts as a prebuilt ingame timer to when its safe to hit off hook. i think elusive should be 12.5 or 15s to counter this. @BHVR
Damn you're right, that's actually nice. Even tho I have to say that it doesn't make a hugr difference, it's relatively easy to see the difference between 100 and 110% speed, so I just waited until the speed ended xD

I'm gonna be honest, I like the power of judgement, but it hurts so bad to play right now. I just have to play her more, but it's still pretty hurtful right now xD

My (AHK) script works only while Dead by Daylight is the active window. Pressing the Down Arrow sends Escape and waits up to 5 seconds for the “Leave Lobby” confirmation window. It presses Enter only after recognizing the confirmation message. The script then waits for the survivor lobby to load, detects the Play button, adds a randomized delay, moves the cursor onto the button, and performs a short mouse click. Afterward, it returns the cursor to its previous position. The script requires AutoHotkey v2 and is configured for 2560×1440 resolution in borderless mode.
I'm pretty sure that you have to accept with the terms of service that you don't use any external programs or scripts to manipulate the game in any way. I assume that counts as such.

Hi! I’ve been praying DBD for super long. The Judgment is a cool new addition but definitely too powerful. I played literally 15 rounds today and 2 of them were different killers. Everyone’s been buying The Judgment and its powers are too much that the game has no fun anymore. The survivors die super quickly and the rounds have no individuality. This killer has a perk that can basically see every single survivor and I feel like it defeats the suspense of the game. Easy W for the killers and really quick L’s for us survivors. Makes me not want to play anymore. This killer shouldn’t be on DBD.
Did we reach the random "x killer is too strong after release"-posts again, this is a really consistent theme. Well this time it's even worse to already label her as too strong because mmr was reset, so you don't play against people your level most of the time xD
Just wait a few weaks maybe months and then we can talk again :D

That sounds awful. Okay then I stay corrected and it will probably take a while to get it xD

Forgot to make a forum post about this, I figured it'd be nice for people to know before they found out on their own. Power Struggle is completely broken, it'll drop a pallet on a killer's head, not stun them, then when the killer returns to the pallet to break it, then it stuns them. This happened 3 different times to me and my friends in 2 matches, can't remember if I submitted a bug report tbh.
Ah interesting, I saw a variation a while ago of that. The william had powerstruggle, I walked against a already dropped palette accidently and he dropped it on me again lol xD

Does the team look at these messages then? Do they get automatically reported? I understand that the player sending such a message that gets censored shouldn't automatically get a ban because the system could make a mistake but does anything actually happen when someone tries to insult?
Probably not, in the end a "ggs" is sometimes an insult according to the system. That being said, I think I never got an awnser to chatreports - could be that you simply don't get one, idk.

Easing my hyperfixations today by discussing BMing in a more neutral setting. I played a few games as killer last night and got the cheekiest survivors I've yet seen, some really good at the game, some confident but… Not so good.
I don't let BM affect me at all, no matter how badly the game is going for me. If I keep playing as best I can, I'm more likely to catch someone out when they get too confident, and at the very least, they'll not see any reaction from me. Sometimes I even find it endearing, especially if I'm getting humped by a killer that has clearly had a very difficult time catching me. It's like a dog that found the best stick and is just so stoked about it.
One thing, however, is I never BM. I just don't understand what I'm supposed to get out of it. I know sometimes people might BM because they're just so excited over a play they made that they have to showboat a bit, but hoping to make another person's day worse for no real gain is a baffling concept to me. I've thought about this in other games too, but DBD has a whole culture for nonverbal trash talk that goes a little beyond your standard Xbox lobby shenanigans.
So I'll put it out there, hoping for some honesty - Who here BMs? How often?
Bonus question:
If you BM, why? It's actually if I outplay some people and as a response:
First case (at outplay) is at moments where you clearly see that it's a trick from some youtuber and you know exactly that it wouldn't work in any world usually and it indeed didn't, it's just super annoying. Also things like window-techs, tricksshots through holes, hitting people with artist on a hill even tho he thought it wasn't possible and such - I mostly just nod then, sometimes I hit them on hook.
second case is if someone emotes or tbags and I just get him instantly, I always shake my head and often I hit on hook then.

So in DBD winning is usually defined by as killers killing all survivors and survivors escaping but the problem is lore wise and bp wise is that survivors and killers are still stuck in the entity realm and just straight out escaping and killing gives very little blood points.
When I play killer even if I get 0 kills but do a ton of other objectives I get around 75k-150k BP while death hooking all survivors, and when playing survivor even if I get sacraficed/moried yet I heal, chase, and do gens with other objectives I get a ton as well than just gen rushing/escaping.
Am I missing what the true definition is winning here or am I not? Like end of the day we are still trapped in the entities realm and get BP from a total of 4 categories.
Like I understand thats the "Goal of the role" but its not exactly as rewarding for that. Am I missing something here or am I onto something?
Lorewise there is no winning because the trials are just a twisted way the entity generates emotions like hope, fear and anger with, on which he feasts. I guess you could say survivors win because they survive and the death at the end seems pretty painful, and killers win in the way that the entity is disappointed if you don't kill anyone so he must be pleased if you kill all.
Gameplaywise dbd never really had a set wincondition, of course you could say escaping or a 4k is a win, but I for my part prefer 3k + hatch. As survivor you could also say 3 escapes or more are a win. And it's true that the win itself doesn't get you anything, but honestly in which game is that really the case? In many games you just get more exp and that's on par with dbd where you just get slightly more bloodpoints. Even if you compare it to ranked games it's kinda true because you get indeed mmr-points, and they just care about killing or escaping right now which are considered winning mostly.

Number of Gens done needed to be number of Survivors alive + 1 for Hatch to spawn. So with 3 Survivors alive, 4 Gens needed to be done.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4107240#Comment_4107240
I think OP is either confusing it with old Hatch Rules (which are years ago by this point) or refers to the case where only 1 Survivor is alive and all Gens have been done. So that they only need to patrol the Gates and not look out for Hatch as well.
@Topic:
Assuming you mean the latter, I would not really think that this is really needed. This is such a niche scenario, I dont think it is worth changing the Hatch Rules for this.
Ah sorry I don't remember it well anymore, I'm just happy it's gone haha xD
-
@MarbleThrone said:
I'm not sure if I understand, but … hatch does not spawn when the last gen pops. It only ever spawns if only 1 survivor is left, and the other 3 could have already escaped through the doors. Or gotten sacrificed.
So until there's only one player left, Killers only have to defend their gates or a hooked Survivor if they got one. They never have to worry about hatch until the last one standing.I think he might be confused from dbd a few years ago where it spawned midgame at some poinz but closed? (Honestly no clue anymore when, I believe 1 gen less than the number of survivor alive, so at 3 survivors at 2 gens or something?)

Not sure if anyone else has come across this but when playing the new killer on PTB i actually started feeling sick whilst playing.
This isn't because the killer is bad. Yes I do personally think this is a bad killer and believe that after 2 weeks of it going live we won't see the killer at all in public lobbies.
I honestly believe i started feeling sick because of the footsteps.
Normally with killers you head 2 footsteps only. Left, Right, Left, Right
With this killer because she is a Crab you get the sound of all 4 feet and that sound was enough to mess with me making me feel sick.
I know we have alien who is on all fours and honestly i didn't have an issue with Alien nor did i have an issue with Dracular Wolf Form but the sound effect BHVR put on the feet of this new killer for some reason just made me feel so bad i had to stop playing.
I do hope they look at this sound and change it as ive seen on reddit that others have felt the same way. That's interessting, as I red the title I thought you mean because you have so turn to awful to play her. I never heard of something like this, well see if they maybe change it a bit!

I’m not referring to her power, I’m referring to the natural mechanic that happens just as she moves around the map
Me too. Sadako has the same basically the entire time she chases you.
Of course you could also just don't manifest and demanifest as sadako and you wouldn't phase like spirit, but it's her only chasetool, so of course you do that.

Dont forget she does it longer than spirit and has addon that makes it even more stronger plus as you say she is faster and smaller.
And even with that she js weak killer.
That's why I mentioned the newspaper, I believe that was the one that makes the duration of your passive phasing after demanifesting longer. There is also one that does this manifested, but you can't attack anyways like this, that's why I only mentioned the newspaper.
And yep she is pretty bad at loops, although if you time the disappearing right you can indeed get some hits on smaller loops :D
-
@thatguyry said:
Why does the spirit need to fade in and out when she walks? How am I supposed to win mind games when I can’t even see when she turns directions? Her power is good and I feel like this is an unfair addition especially in non comp where she could literally pub stomp without her power due to this mechanic
So sadako is also too strong? Because she does the same. Actually if we only count the passive blinking sadako is even stronger with the newspaper because she is 4.6 and spirit only 4.4 xD
Also you have to predict where she is. If you saw her light a second ago and now it's gone chances are good that she changed direction simply because you don't see her anymore and it's effective. Of course she could also gamble on the fact that you think that and just keep running, but there's a reason it's called a "mindgame" xD

If the pig goes backwards (assuming they are not in ambush but we are gonna assume it's fixed so if a survivor runs Infront of the killer in ambush they are going to start a chase) the survivor can run Infront of them and start a chase, or another survivor can body block without pig knowing as they wouldn't see what's behind and waste enough time for survivor to hide.
A proximity thing wouldn't be a good idea, like sometimes just run to the pig to waste time and with proximity thing this can be kinda abused.
I guess, but isn't it the same with crouching? Running in front of her is not as easy as you think I believe, and body blocking works with both. So I think if you fix one you should fix both.
I see what you mean with the proximity, was just an idea :D

The judgment's new power is way too op, injuring and giving heretic, its way too killer sided and makes one slight error get you downed or injured, downing in two hits , i think it would be better if instead of injuring it would give hard slowness like 20% for 2 seconds or so, giving the killer a chance to m1 them instead of just spamming the power till the survivor is downed and using it to mindgame or get good plays instead
So this time we (some people, not all!) didn't even wait to the first day of the ptb, that's a new record. Well at least it's the last day of the early access of the ptb I guess.

Playing clean and ignoring insults (or be happy about them like me :P). While survivors can choose their items they will most likely not have any perks that are necessary to deal with camping, slugging or tunneling.

I did actually try this play style and most of the time I did get a 2k so ig it should be addressed in some way, just making so you can start chase when in ambush.
Like I wrote before you can also just go after the survivor backwards, so they would need to change that too. Probably to proximity instead of in chase, but hidden if it continues or not so that the survivor doesn't just know if you're close enough.

I went against a pig earlier in the night and I honestly enjoy going against pigs, but the playstyle that they use can sometimes be annoying. I personally think that she needs worked on. Her ambush is okay. It needs a little improvement with the speed imo. The main issue I have is her traps. I know I should get gud but I don't like the fact that her ambush doesn't start a chase since she is able to just follow a person with an active trap which results in that person dying to either the trap, or the pig player grabbing them out of the jigsaw machine. I would like if that could possibly be looked at because it just creates an unhealthy playstyle.
I assume you mean crouching with the ambush? I just want to point out that you can also not crouch and just walk backwards after the survivor, I used this trick many times in the past.

To give examples:
Palettes sometimes feel like they stun you over 2-3 meters before. I know that it's most likely ping with the fact that bhvr cheats (they just move the camera in the back of your skull as far as I know, so your character is further ahead than you think) with their pov, but it's still annoying af.
Pinheads chainspawning is bugging so often into the ground at palettes, it's increadible. Sure with playing him more I get used to it, but honestly why do I even have to get used to my chain randomly deciding that it wants to spawn outside of this plain of existance?!

Look, I've seen many unbalancing things in Dead By Daylight, but one of these perks is 'Background Player', I mean, it looks great on the survivor's side paper, but when it comes to killer.. It's the complete opposite. This perk, with a 50% Haste, for 5 SECONDS, and 20 second cooldown? Dude, I could literally run across the map without worrying about exhausted? It's ridiculous how can it be left with only 20 seconds of cooldown. Yes, there have been much discussions about this perk. Before, the cooldown was 60/50/40 seconds for using Background Player. I mean, that was a reasonable balance, but right now? Seriously? SWF or Bully squads can pair it with Vigil, making the exhaustion go away even faster, and do more flashlight saves. It's literally so unfair for the newer killer players, to just get their first hook and then. "Hello! You're not hooking that player!" and boom! They flashlight that poor player, making them rage quit. I know that you're about to waste your breath commenting "That's how the game works", "Welcome to DbD" we all get it, except for newer players. If we keep encouraging newer killer players by bullying them with flashlights and background player. He might just stick to the survivor side. We all know the equation of DbD. Enough survivors, and balanced perks + Enough killers, and balanced perks. = Balanced game. But if it goes like this: More survivors than killers with super strong and unbalanced perks + Not enough killers, with some of them having strong perks, but the new ones not. = Unbalancing the game, and killers refuse to play killer. Leaving no match for survivors and killers. We all know it's difficult to balance the game, because there's a lot of survivors that cry all about the killers being either too strong with strong killer perks and strong power. Dude, you have a lot of strong perks, flashlights, and toolboxes. Leave the killer mains alone, no need to nerf them to the ground.
The current version of background player is pretty okay. The version before with 200% speed was broken af because it really felt that people made it even 20 meters behind you still.

I have been playing the event chaos shuffle and I have not been having fun, the amount of tunnelers I have encountered is crazy, I have a suggestion to get rid of the tunnelers. Every game they tunnel a survivor it takes away the bloodpoints and the more they do it, it should have a times multiplier
Nows the question why that would stop me. In generall if I tunnel I want to 4k most likely, farming bloodpoints is not the reason I do that. Less interaction with survivors in general means less bloodpoints overall, so someone who wanted to farm the most bloodpoints per round wouldn't tunnel really.
Besides that bhvr says that tunneling is part of the game. They just discourage it to make it less exersive, I think that would be too much for bhvr themself otherwise they would have done that already most likely.

I also think an in-game match history is sorely needed as well.
I honestly don't think it's needed, I know when I won and when not, I don't need a screen for that.
Also dbd still doesn't have clean rules for that:
As survivor you could say "Survivor survived so it shows the winning sceeen". As killer you play against 4 players, you could say "4-3 is the majority of survivors dead so it shows the winning screen", "2 is the middle so it shows a draw screen" and "1-0 is the minority so it shows the losing screen".
While that would work some survivors also count a win only at 3-4 survivors out, and some killers only count 4k's as win. So for some that still wouldn't apply. Dbd simply is not an overwatch where you can say "team a captured point a and b and therefore won" or "team b got the payload to the end and therefore won", dbd doesn't even count survivors as one team at least in mmr xD

Huh I think out of 10 games in at least 5 of them one survivor at least as ds, sometimes also dh or deli. No mither also is not new, last time this was also a thing already, the iterations before I don't remember but maybe even there already xD

I don't understand why sometimes the camera doesn't register that a survivor is visible on it. I'm trying to learn this killer but it's really frustrating when I can see 100% of the Survivor on the camera, they are like 5 meters away but the camera doesn't register that they are there.
I know Springtrap came into the game after Singularity but the cameras on him work completely fine. Even killers like Ghostface can stalk the survivor even when 50% of the model is hidden behind a object.
Bhvr please give Singularity a qol update at some point fixing these problems.
I played him 2 matches ago and I didn't see his camera being buggy once, so ether it's relatively rare, I am lucky, or he works great :D

Hag has fallen behind quite a bit in the grand scheme of DBD and is dire need of changes. But with her kit, would buffs be truely enough to bring her up the tier list or would a full a rework be needed to modernize her for 2026 DBD?
Here's my two cents on this and feel free to disagree with me on this, but i think its time Hag just gets a full on rework. I know Hag has her players and she has a certain charm to her that will be lost if reworked, but i just do not see a way for her to become that much better with some buffs. What would BHVR even buff her teleport range, number of traps available, or just make her movement speed faster while changing some addons? I just feel like Hag should be reworked into a more classic depiction of a "hag" kinda like how they are portrayed in myth or dnd.
Honestly I think she would need a rework for anyone to play her. I play this game since 2021 and I've never seen that she would be played in even a moderate amount really.
I honestly also just got her for the hexes and that's it, her playstyle simply isn't very fun to play even if she would be stronger.

For the early access PTB announced today (7/30/26), to participate, I'm told this:
- Watch one hour of selected Dead by Daylight creators on Twitch with drops enabled.
Where is the list of selected Dead by Daylight creators? I couldn't find one on the page that's advertising this.
In theory you just have to search for streams of dbd with the tag "Drops Enabled" and then you should find them. I didn't use it because I watch hens usually if I watch any dbd right now, but he does have it for sure :D

I had once Chaos Shuffle match in earlier iterations where we had two No Mither players and still I think most of us escaped so its not even a death sentence people seem to relate it to.
I guess that depends if you focus them or not. Someone with no mither and nothing else won't live long most of the time. That being said you will use more palettes and therefore make it harder for the other people :D

It's unplayable because nothing make sense hence why I don't see the point. Even in 'chaos' there needs to be organisation. i know, sounds contradicting but it really isn't.
If you make a game mode that doesn't relate to anything I'm questioning why do some enjoy it? I'm genuinely curious. Some ppl find loosing matches and bad teammates as unplayable and I disagree with that. I can enjoy my time even with bad teammates and if i loose (i have a bad time if they're purposely body blocking me though). So that is what i mean by unplayable.
My suggestion is to make the game mode more fun and playable base on what i think and base on some sort of structure. Not a diff mode.
right now im just unsure how ppl play this game mode. because if 3 perks dont work with each other or with my item then its an UNPLAYABLE perk. it becomes redundant, obsolete. so again, unplayable.
It's fun because of the pure gamble if you or the enemy get something good or worthless. It's insanely funny to see a trapper that's basically useless because he only has the most useless stuff, at the same time it's pretty funny to start into the match and see someone with no mither sometimes even multiple people.
I see what you mean with the differents builds you could also get assigned randomly, but I honestly like to play like this more - it's just more chaotic.
That being said I would also play a perkless gamemode because it's from time to time really exhausting to think about any perk that could destroy you in this second. So maybe I also like it because I don't have to think about the perks most likely :D

Have you not thought of seeing the No Mither player and thinking "Oh they got No Mither, I'll go easy on them" I did that today, went after someone else first, and then gave the No Mither player an extra chance after the chase by leaving them on the ground to recover. Later in the game I hooked her twice so all good.
P.S. No Mither is now 100% no grunts of pain..
It is? I actually even looked it up before writting that so the website was wrong too!! xD
Well my fault, but that makes sense now. I thought the person got no mither and iron will by chance and I forgot to look at the perks yesterday. So she was quiet because of no mither actually :D
Also no, I usually like to win and I surely won't let a person just do gens for free xD

i got 30min pemalty by only my game crashing wow
Then tell bhvr how you would fix that for every plattform universally.
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to, the reason is simple: there's no way to see the difference between a forced and a natural crash. Sure you could try some crazy shenanigans with sending errorlogs or trying to see pattern between forced crashes, but I can guarantee you that ether the dc punishment will be useless or it would almost always punish you.
So we won't get around that issue. But I agree with @burt0r you must have crashed a lot or dced between it.

Ehm yeah they are in a disadvantage. Survivors not only are allowed to bring every item and addons they want they also don't have any negative addons. Killers have a lot of addons that make the power worse or even useless.
Wraith has a addon that gives him a terror radius while cloaked which removes his stealth hit factor.
Trapper has a addon that make his traps do no damage
Sadiko has addons that remove and change how the condemned works.
Blight has a addon that makes his rushing slower and one that auto turns.
Nurse has two addons that turn her into a m1 killer with less or no blinks.
And that are just some of the addons that are in my head right now. Yeah the chance is low to get these addons but don't say "You aren't at any worse of a disadvantage"
And no, no mither is not a disadvantage, you leave no blood, make no sounds and can't get slugged.
No mither is an insane disadvantage, if I'm not playing trapper you will be out the game insanely quickly because nothing stops me from hitting you once 3 times and just tunneling you. Also even if you're able to loop for longer you will waste a lot of palettes so you'll make the game harder for the rest of the team. Oh also no blood is completely irrelevant because I still hear you, no mither doesn't make you quiet just 75% quieter, and also why would I slug a free tunnel I can get out in sometimes 2 minutes if the survivors are generous? xD
To even say something to the initial post:
I don't think it makes sense to be able to choose addons yourself because it would go against the point of everything being random. While I agree that it also doesn't make sense to let survivors choose their item, I'm also okay with it because they don't have any protection against tunneling or slugging - most people bring flashlights anyways.
