  • If my teammate is injured/death hook and got me off the hook, and I can take a hit for them to buy them time, I will. It's called being a good teammate. If they're fully healed, and have 0 to 1 hooks, they're on their own—I'm getting outta there.

Now, I completely understand that this makes the me target, and I have no one to blame but myself. I fully understand the risks, as you're doing the best strategy.

  • Yet another, and the only other event was the 10 year anniversary, which still saw most killers winning.

You don't need to tell me anything, again, it doesn't bother me half as much as you think it does.
You also answered your own rhetoric, it is indeed a PvP game, and as far as I know, there is no rule against slugging either, barring the dissatisfaction it seems to cause.

I am merely pointing out that you can't say one thing is bad for one part of the game and then say well the other side has to get over it. Doesn't work that way because that is what we call a double standard.

Thrice and done i'd say, just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Fair enough. Have a nice day.

How often is it the slug is actually down for 4 minutes?
The only time that happens is if the slugged survivor decides to slide off to gods know where and proceed to complain "ugh killer gonna bleed me out for 4minutes" at which point that's on the survivor.
Also I don't get tilted half as much as you seem to think I do about bags but then you also seem to think its about the animation, no, its about the intentions behind that action, the meaning being conveyed the only way a sore winner knows how.

It happens plenty enough times for people to be raising concerns and questions about it.
And no, they don't bleed out for 4 minutes because the moved to hide. It's because they were left alone while they go find the hiding survivor.
You seem to get tilted enough to where you won't do it and instead make it a point of contention.
And yes, it's a pvp game, there will be BM'ing. You have to have tougher skin. Not sure what else to tell you.

Nothing, but that doesn't answer the question does it? Why? Why should a killer HAVE to do it?

So if nothing is stopping you, why is it a problem? Can you not handle seeing a crouching animation for a couple seconds?
Why should a survivor lay on the floor for 4 minutes because a killer has an ego, as opposed to 10 seconds of smacking them out?

  • @Bloodraven said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4104971#Comment_4104971

Ahh yes the classic "the killer gotta take the abuse, just suck it it up".

Nope, if the killer has to get BM'd when they lose then the survivors can get the same, dont like being slugged? Just Tab out and watch YouTube then.

There, matched energy for energy and everything is balanced once more.

so what exactly is stopping you from pushing them out though? Outside of getting too mad to even look at a crouching animation, of course.

  • @Bloodraven said:

"Why does the killer slug for the 4k?" I dunno chief why do the survivors always wait at the exit to give the killer some undeserved bags?

And don't try to tell me it ain't the same thing because then that's what we call double standards.

You can push them out instead of standing there and getting mad at a problem you can solve

Being slugged means you can't do anything but move at a snails pace. Even if you were to get picked up, you'd get downed within a minute and the cycle starts over.

    It's not the same.

  • I'm very disappointed with the results. It feels so underwhelming to me. If they knew that they couldn't split the survivor in half, why include it in the storyboard? I feel lied to.

  • If you're not chasing anyone, nor can you find anyone, it's the best strategy.

If you're in mid chase, and you immediately drop and come back, I will judge you.

    But it's fair game nonetheless.

exactly. you're supposed to adapt to the game (or players even), not the other way around

So then why are killer mains constantly crying about and blaming perks? Why aren't they adapting to the game?

  • I can see a few flaws with your adjustment. First one being that it completely removes the protection for those that are genuinely being tunneled (which according to your reasoning is intended purpose for the perk). I get unhooked, immediately get downed, and hooked again before 20 seconds is up. It's useless in this sense.
Another thing is that it can still be used aggressively, maybe even a tad bit better if used properly. Waste a few seconds getting chase, you get hit, go down, and the killer chases down any hovering survivors nearby, then the perk is up. The delay can easily give you more time to use it by essentially adding 20 extra seconds to it's use. All you'd have to do is get your friend to hover around long enough. It'd be way worse paired with OtR wich gives you 40 seconds to get hit, which is enough time to get Will to Live active, and then a bonus 60 seconds to get downed and picked up. That just seems a bit too strong to me.

It’s interesting, then, that some people here think “killer anxiety” doesn’t exist, even though it unfortunately does.

So far, I’ve seen nothing but negativity in these posts—arguments against my personal feeling that something’s off with the pallet density. So I’m seriously asking you: how can it be that, on every map I’ve played recently, I feel like I see a pallet every 5 meters? Something must have been secretly increased again, and many people just don’t want to see it.

Like I said, it’s not hate or anything, but as a Killer main, I just notice this kind of thing. I bring it up, and then I just get hated on again for pointing it out—that’s actually the wrong way to handle it. All the games I’ve played lately have been so frustrating for me; like I said, I’ve been getting a pallet thrown in my face every 5 meters.

Playing as a Killer just isn’t fun anymore this way. Chases are dragged out by pointless predrops—you’re hanging onto a Survivor during a chase, predrop, predrop, predrop, predrop, predrop—and that’s not the point of the game. Where’s the fun in the chase and the cool moments? Even the loops aren’t fun anymore sometimes because there are endless double pallets or something like that.

Like I said, I can understand that you want to make the game more casual-friendly, but right now it’s coming at the expense of the fun for killers. You can see it in the 10-Year Anniversary Event, too—it’s extremely unfriendly to killers in some parts. You must have noticed that as well. Where, exactly, is the fun in playing as a killer these days?

At least I don’t find playing as the Killer fun anymore, which is really sad, and yes, I suffer from this “Killer Anxiety” too, but I don’t want to have to give up the Killer role either, which is why I’m making this post. I want people to see the problem—and the problem here isn’t me; the problem is “Killer Anxiety” and the feeling that pallets have been popping up on the maps more frequently since the last few patches.

Like I said, right now it’s like this: you’re in a chase, and then it starts—predrop, predrop, predrop, predrop, predrop—without even being able to land a hit on the survivor, while 2–3 generators are being worked on, sometimes all in just one short chase.

Let me ask you why predropping is boring to you? You think I should just keep that pallet up if it means you get a free hit? What constitutes as a "fun chase" for you? Holding W? Pre Running? Running around a rock until you get that guaranteed hit? Double backing around a jungle gym?

A lot of the times, I have to pre drop because a lot of killer designs make it unsafe to keep that pallet up. I'm not looping a rock when a Myers is coming at me at 50mph, I'll tell you that much for free. That's not to say that a lot of survivors predrop just because they feel like own them, and find their first health state so precious. But a lot of the times, it's because I don't want to be instantly downed, or I need the loop to be longer than 2 feet.

Most pallets are pretty bad, and can easily be ignored by the killer's power anyway. Play them right, and they'll get zoned eventually.

  • Mostly, it's so they can get value out of the perk. If the killer isn't tunneling them, but they still want to justify having that perk on, they'll do it. They also use them to help the teammate out. If I have 40 second endurance, and my teammate is injured on death hook, why not try and keep them alive? Sure, it puts a target on my back, but at least we won't be down a survivor just yet.

Just as tunneling at 3 gens is strategic for you to win, keeping other survivors alive by taking hits when we can is strategic for us.
Killer mains are just mad they didn't get that down they thought they were owed.

You said people were having mental breaks over teabagging, I said no... thats just a very small part of the stress. Its disingenuous to try to wrap up everything as just people that cant handle tbagging.

I've literally seen people comment about how they lose it because of tbagging at the gates. What's disingenuous is you adding more to the statement and acting like I said that any harassment is okay, while ignoring my advice on mediating such harrassment. People do get upset at tbagging, and for you to say that it doesn't is ignorant. I've seen countless comments and threads specifically complaining about tbagging, and how it should be punished heavily.

So yes, people have shown that they can't handle tbagging. That doesn't mean I'm ignoring that other harassment happens, nor should it be acceptable.

  • You're more than like facing Jason if that's the case. It's there to give him more consistent teleporting spawns, and give the survivors information that he can show up there.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4098035#Comment_4098035

Tbagging is the most inconsequential part of this whole conversation. I cannot stress enough, the biggest part is that all the pressure is applied to a single person. That is the difference between this and every other game. Even a normally small amount of pressure will cause cracks if you aim it at a single point. Please...stop hyperfixing on specifically t bagging as if im trying to argue that is the cause of all evil.

Tbagging is the ENTIRE point of the conversation. You just added more parts to it for no other reason.

All I said was Tbagging ALONE is not an issue. Then you came in with all these other problems, putting words into my mouth and making excessive assumptions and kept arguing from that. I never said harrassment via sending messages, doxxic, etc is okay. All I said was Tbagging isn't a problem, and you went off on this tangent as if I said all forms of toxicity is okay.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4098027#Comment_4098027

How many asymmetrical pvp games do you have on that list? Comparing a typical pvp to THIS is like comparing a mallet to an ice pick. Your gonna see cracks much sooner when all the pressure is applied to single point. Maybe instead of telling the guy getting stoned that he should wear a helmet when he leaves the house, you could argue against tossing the stones... even if its the smallest stone there is (teabagging is that small stone incase it wasn't obvious in the metaphor).

Tbagging is always going to be prevalent in PVP games, so your metaphor doesn't really work. It's just something you're going to have to learn to deal with, and I know that sounds cold and cliche, but it's the truth. Otherwise, you're just not going to be able to have a good time. I get it, it's tilting and frustrating, but like I said before, it's okay to take a break and come back in a better mind state.

As someone whos played multiple cods, overwatch, league, halo, (mostly speaking of older games) i dont think ive seen people take it to the extent they do in this game. We have had doxxing. Ip address hunting, faking accusations of serious topics using the persons name. Impersonating. Sniping to hold someone hostage for hours at a time. Some streamers have had to go into great extent to protect themselves. Thats how bad this game can get.

And that's all bad, and should never happen, especially over a video game.

But all I'm saying is that Tbagging alone is nothing to lose your mind over, and all I get is "Yeah, but I get this type of harassment and mean comments!" as if that has anything to do with my initial statement.

Tbagging alone = Not a big deal
Every other form of harassment = Not okay

    That's it. Simple as.

How many other games do you play where you'd be giving this advice? "Yeah, I know this is just fall guys, but you should probably set your stuff to private, turn off messages and change your address cuz the whole lobby is gonna try to make you miserable no matter which way the match goes".

Do you think all the super sensitive people just collectively came to the same game rather than think that maybe this game is much more stressful to 1 single player than other PVP games?

I literally just said I turn off all of my messages for any new system I get. I turned it off for my Xbox when I was playing Overwatch, and I turned it off immediately when I started using steam. I know how awful people get when playing PVP games, and I'd rather not deal with that. So yeah, it is that simple. I don't know why you're disagreeing and fighting me on that fact.

I'm just saying that I've never seen a pvp game to where so many people have such a strong response to something that's been in the gaming sphere since the conception of PVP.

You've done nothing bot make excessive assumptions and argue from those assumptions. I agree that sending harrassing messages and making toxic comments is bad, but if it's simply tbagging and nothing more, it's nothing to get upset over. If you're feeling too tilted, then just take a break. It's okay to do so, and it happens to the best of us.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4098018#Comment_4098018

Im stating unlike other games, you go into every game knowing that 95% of every negative interaction will be directed to you as opposed to other players. You see people saying they cant handle the stress and you think it was the TBAGGING? That was just the cherry on top of a mountain.

Do you not see the countless forum threads and reddit posts and such specifically complaining about the tea bagging? If it's just the tea bagging, it's nothing to get upset over. If you're afraid of getting messages from random players that want to harrass you, turn off public messages and set it to friends only. That alleviates so much stress, and you never have to worry about the random angry comment outside of the game.

Except its not just a crouching animation. You have ppl trying every avenue they can to harass you. You even have teams set up with no goal to actually win, but rather to target 1 player specifically and make them as miserable as possible. It doesnt surprise me that people dont wanna be the designated target. In other PVP games you at least get to know it might be someone ELSES turn to be on the receiving end. In this game, its just seen as something you have to deal with to be spammed hate messages and have your steam profile covered in -rep messages.

Except that I am specifically talking about crouching. You're making it about other forms of harassment, which yes, are bad and should not be tolerated. Tea Bagging isn't that deep.

And yes, you can revenge bm the target too in this game, I'm not sure why you're stating you can't.
You can also prevent strangers from commenting on your steam profile, and sending you messages on console. That's usually the first thing I do when getting a new system.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4097977#Comment_4097977

You generally dont have groups of ppl team up against 1 guy in those other games though. Im sure there would be more breakdowns in COD lobbies if all negative interactions were directed to a single player.

It's just a crouching animation, and it's not that serious. Again, if you can't handle a crouching animation to the point where you start shaking and have a mental breakdown, you don't need to be playing pvp games in general for your own well being.

  • Tea bagging isn't a big deal, and DBD is the only game I've seen where the player base have actual mental breakdowns over it. If you can't handle tea bagging, you can't handle pvp games.

i have seen a good amount of them the main problem is they arnt to weak its that the meta perks 1 have been in the game for years and 2 they need thought to use unlike the meta perks that are just equip and forget and thats not a bash on survivors its just that the meta perks and powerful and easy to use.

I highly doubt you see anyone running the perks I've just mentioned considering their pick rate, and they are absolutely weak. They're not meta because they "require thought", it's because they're way too situational and get little to no value within a vast majority of the trials. Dead Hard gets way more use because you're always garutneed to be chased and injured. Throw down doesn't get much use because that endurance isn't worth it, and that's if you get the stun.

  • Pretty much everyone from Orela to Shane. Or do you honestly see a lot of people running with Apocalyptic Ingenuity, Road Life, Change of Plan, and Rapid Response? Only one I can think of was Five Moves Ahead, but one out of however many isn't good.

There's nothing us lowlife no power no money no influence people can do about AI. It will take over every industry. It will be everywhere and become a part of daily life in the next 10-20 years. You keep up because survivors still suck ass at the game amd give up underhook dc at the smallest thing.

Aren't you the one that wants a free DC because you failed to kill survivors before they open the gates?

  • This thread has shown me a lot of killer mains have no idea what it's like being slugged and unable to do anything, nor the actual condition to get the abandon feature.

The abandon feature procs when all living survivors are either downed or hooked.

"Yeah but you can bring perks!"
What if I didn't bring any? Tough luck on my end, sure, but that still doesn't change the fact that there is nothing more as a survivor I can do to contribute tot he game when everyone else is dead, downed, or hooked.
But let's say I do have unbreakable still available. Clearly, I'm not going to abandon because I can still do something. But once that's gone, it's gone. It's a one time use. So once I get downed again along with everyone else, the game is over.
And if we're going this route, killers can also bring perks to slow down the gates being powered. It goes both ways.

    "You can stealth for hatch!"
Unless the hatch spawns right on top of me, it's not happening. Killer is moving around at the speed of sound, and you're barely making 5 inches a minute

    "You can bring offerings"
7% luck isn't worth it, and that's only first hook. You'd have to survive all game without getting hooked, while another survivor is alive. Not uncommon, but also not reliable.

"You can still be picked up"
Yeah…but if that's the case the abandon feature isn't available and the game can still continue. Holy…

    "You can wiggle out…"
Unless the killer is absolutely lost and blind, there's always going to be a hook within 2 inches of being picked up. And even if you do wiggle off, there's a low chance of actually making it to anything at the end of the game where resources are low. You can try sure, but it's not likely.

Bit a survivor can force a killer to have to wait out the end game collapse by hiding on the map. I have had it happen to me multiple time and guess what it feels worse then when im slugged on survivor because i dont get an indication where the survivor is all I can do is move around the map so just like a slugged survivor.

Survivors making the killers wait for 4 minutes is such a jerk move, and I'll never condone that behavior. We're all just trying to have fun, and if you're a person who derives enjoyment from making people mad…I don't wanna talk to you.

I'll cut the bickering with you and plainly say that my big worry is that killers getting the abandon feature when they still can do something is only going to encourage rage quits. It doesn't feel good having the game end and my victory taken from me because the killer had a tantrum. If my worry is unfounded, then I'll wipe the egg off my face and admit I'm wrong in all of this.

So you know what? I say we should at least try it. See if the increase of rage quitting at the end rises, or not.

Unbreakable! Plot Twist! Tenacity! Conviction! Up the Ante! Slippery Meat! Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips! Black Salt Statuette! Salt Pouch!

All of those things I listed are ways survivor has agency when they're on (first) hook or on the ground.

They just don't want to use them.

    Unbreakable: One time use!
Plot twist: Also one time use!
Tenacity: Not sure how useful crawling 50% faster is when you still can't do anything
Conviction: Only up if you've healed someone, and only lasts a few seconds and then you're back down
Up the Ante, Slippery Meat, and other luck offerings: Making an entire build just to get off one ONE TIME is not that great. And again, this is for the first hook so of course you're more likely still in the game.

    this is a bad argument.

I’ve seen so many times where survivors abandon and one or multiple have unbreakable or I get unlucky hook spawns and a bot gets to wiggle off, lest we forget 4%’s yeah they’re less common because you need a luck offering but it’s not an impossibility to get one; also keep in mind hatch exists, too many times to count I’ve seen a hatch spawn on top of a bot because the survivor was a ‘sore loser’ and abandoned too quickly.

Just because everyone is down or dying doesn’t mean the game is over or they don’t have any agency.

You’re saying you don’t an us vs them, but your argument is fueled on it, with rules for me but not for thee.

If survivors get to abandon when everyone is slugged, killers should get to abandon if survivors are just camping the exit game with no chance of turning it around if they don’t have endgame perks, simple as that.

All of your arguments are so bad…

First off, unbreakable is one use only, so I don't know where you're getting "multiple use" from. Unless you mean if all 4 have it, but even still, it's a one time use for each. Once it's gone, it's gone. Relying on luck to get the unhook is just wishful thinking. Wiggling off is such a rare thing, too, and even so, you don't get any protection; the killer can just get you down again within seconds.

But thanks for bringing up perks, because killers also have perks to slow down the gate from being powered up and other catch up perks! NoED, Remember Me, No Way Out, Blood Warden, etc.

"Just because everyone is downed doesn't mean it's over or they don't have agency"

Yeah..it literally does. If you think i'm wrong, I challenge you to play survivor, and run No Mither with Plot twist, and don't let anyone heal you. Tell me how much you contributed to the game. I bet it's not a lot.

  • @Domicci said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094639#Comment_4094639

You can abandon from just being slugged so no its not because you cant make progress i have been slugged because of altruism and gotten the abandon option. And why is it a sore lower that I just dont want my time wasted by a survivor hiding or waiting on hatch or gate to tbag at me all im asking for is my time respected on killer like its respected on survivor.

You get the abandon feature when all remaining survivors are slugged/hooked, in which case you cannot make progress at all and thus the game is over. Do you even play survivor? Doesn't matter how or why they're all downed, it's the fact no action can be taken to continue the game.

Killer wanting to abandon because the gate is open is being a sore loser is because you, as the killer, can still move around and go for a kill or get points in any manner you wish.

I've said this so many times in this thread, and you're so unwilling to understand, and you're just repeating the same thing over and over again.

Isn't that what survivors begged for, and got, with the Abandon feature?

Because literally unable to do anything for 4 minutes was terrible game design.
Survivors can't do anything on the hook or on the ground. The game is over. You all keep overlooking that fact. Wonder why…

  • @Domicci said:

then survivor's should have to take the dc penelty if they want to go next its that simple stop with these rules for one side but not the other

they why not let killers leave they art being sore losers they just want to play the game and not have there time wasted

this is not anuse vs them its a respect problem because survivors do have there time respected while killers doesnt if they added this it wouldn't be fiar.

They get to abandon because they literally can't do anything to progress the game. What aren't you understanding? The game is over at that point. Killers still have agency over the match, you're just being a sore loser about it and want to quit when things aren't going your way.

  • @Domicci said:

the game is basicly over and its a choice on the killers side if they want to go for a kill let them if they dont and want to go to the next one let them. your clearly a survivor main who just wants to keep wasting killers time ow have them watch you leave for some sick reason. just take the win its not that hard to be a nice person and respect the killers time.

If the killer doesn't want to go for the kill then they can eat the DC penalty and not give an option that encourages others to just give up and promote bad sportsmanship.

And you're assuming wrong of me entirely because I don't agree with you. I don't teabag or anything at the gate because I don't want to anger the person I'm playing against. I don't want to be the reason why they're having a bad day. I even give pity kills if they killer wants it. And believe it or not, I don't want my time wasted either, so why would I stick around? I want to get into the next game as soon as possible.

But you just resort to your "us vs them" tactics and continue on with the propaganda that all survivor mains are just the worst human beings on earth.

So you’d be ok with getting rid of the survivor abandon feature as well, I take it?

Killers can still go around and potentially get a kill. Survivors on the ground or hook can't do anything and is pointless to stay. They've lost, and you're just keeping them in there for whatever reason.

Though abandoning after getting knocked down after 3 hits seems kinda much . Should only be when everyone is either downed or hooked.

so do you think survivors are poor losers when they abandon?

No, I think that the game is over because they literally can't do anything to progress the game. Where as killers still have the potential to get a kill. Killers want to abandon when gate is open because they're sore losers.

  • A lot of entitled killers wanting a free dc without any penalty for being sore losers in this thread.

I personally am thinking of it as a better old self preservation. Aside from that you can rat and wait for the killer to kick the gen then sprint burst away with elusive, and you can also use it for shift teching.

You're better of just running Distortion for that situation though. The light trail isn't that big to safely trail the killer that's going up to the gen to kick it then run away. They'll also more likely see you and go after you, and by that time, the elusiveness is gone.

It no longer works in chase because it was busted. Still useful tho.

How is it still useful? I just don't see how being elusive outside of someone else's chase is even remotely useful. They're not focused on you, so they don't care. If they're paranoid someone is lingering around, they'll still check the area. Anything outside of the chase, the elusiveness won't last anywhere near long enough to warrant dropping your objective to get in the way of a chase in progress and go back to what you were doing…

There's just nothing to warrant its use.

I think Jason can body block in fog form, I had one where he wasn't even teleporting to a pallet but was still blocking it off which just seems dumb to me.

The more I play against Jason the longer I can be chased without too much difficulty. Something that's an issue is how easy it is for him to reload his spear, he could miss multiple spears in the same chase and just keep refilling without even a pick up animation from the looks of it.

The whole screaming thing just feels cheap too, there's no counterplay to a Jason teleporting quite a distance and still getting a scream

Oh yeah, he can body block. I've had moments where I've bumped into him while trying to go through a door way, or trying to get over a pallet.

I like the idea of him removing a hook to reload, but having so many places to reload while in chase just feels so unimpactful for him. You gained distance, but…he's a ranged killer, that does little for you.

And if I can suggest a soft counter to his Jumpscare, I use either Hardened (after opening a chest and cleanse totem, you stay silent and see their aura) or Scene Partner to get a bit of an advantage.

  • I don't feel like he's over powered, but he's definitely got too much going on in his kit/add ons. I really don't see the point in hiding the survivors while in Omnipresent Evil mode when you can see their red mist and foot steps anyway. Sure you can crouch, but once people get over the fear of him, they'll just ignore it and keep moving. His addons giving oblivous, exhaustion, gen regression and such are just too much. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they give the survivor the status map wide (or at least a really huge radius), and that's just too oppressive. It's also really pointless making him 4.4 when he gets haste for so long coming out of Omnipresent Evil.

They gave him way too much and it feels like he doesn't have anything that punishes him outside of rearing the spike, but that's nothing. 1 minor draw back against a fully stacked kit seems unbalanced. Again, he's not over powered, but he needs to lose some things. It gets exhausting having to deal with everything from one killer…It's almost borderline old Skull Merchant.

The bands drummer says it wasn't AI. I am not denying that it looked terrible but bad CGI has existed since long before AI has. I don't know how someone at BHVR OK'd the video when so much doesn't line up with DBD but there is no real evidence of it being AI.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R6BC52FCE9N2/image.png

If by "Fictional story line", they mean when they used Gen Ai for the band's lore, that's really not convincing. Because they still used Gen AI and acted like jerks to the people who spoke out against them. They could have easily hired artists to make it LOOK like gen AI, but they still used it. So I'm not convinced that they wouldn't use AI again.

EDIT: The downvotes are baffling. They've used AI before and profited off of it. They've shown they have no qualms about using it. So why trust them again? Why give them the benefit of the doubt when they would shamelessly use it if it didn't give them as much backlash? People shouldn't be so quick to forgive and forget, especially when they were never sorry. They knew full well what they were doing.

Just used in a music video that they didn't make. They could've overseen its production but didn't touch it directly as theirs. They know by now if ai showed up in any of their game production we would riot. But disqualifying a band from collaberating with them over how they wanted to make their music video is a bit pushy.

So you just didn't read my comment at all and still have the audacity to restate your first comment.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

The band's music video does involve ai. But what does a band making a video in tribute to the game, have anything to do with ai being used for anything in the game? I can see the problem if it was ai used to make the upgraded graphics prototype video, but this was just a seperate group of people making a fan music video and happened to use ai. The ai in question is not in use by bhvr at all, but the band instead.

Because one would assume that they had to be overseeing the project in someway, right? It would be really foolish of bhvr to collab with someone, and never at any point in the process check in on what they're doing. They had to have okayed this at some point.

So we're mad at BHVR because they're essentially saying they're okay with gen ai. Sure, it may not be in the game right now, but all they would need is a little wiggle room to start implementing it in some form or fashion. "Oh, it's just used in a music video" can turn into "It's just being used to make the coding faster" to "We're making character art faster" and so on and so forth. All they need is that little affirmation that we're okay before they start doing it. We can't let them get that idea that we'd be okay with it at all.

  • Specifically, it was the band Ice Nine Kills that used the AI in their music video, but the fact that BHVR okay'd it says they're fine with it over all.

I know who downvoted this, btw. How's the view from that fence?

  • All the more reason to make a fuss. We can't let them just brush this under the rug.

  • I disagree when you say "If a killer dc's, nobody is hurt" because it's never a good feeling having a game suddenly end, especially if you're doing good. I want to play the game, not get booted to the lobby because a killer had a hissy fit, queue up, load into that lobby, wait for 5 minutes because someone is always afk to ready up, and then load into a new game.

I've played a handful of matches tonight, and I've had about 4 killers dc because they were looped for too long. If killers are wanting me to finish the game I started, I get the right to ask that out of you. You don't get to quit guilt free and complain about "survivor entitlement" when you're just as entitled.
