  • Coming back to this and being more mature about it, I will say that you are pretty much correct that if a survivor is too good, or rather, too troublesome to catch in a timely manner, then they just won't. The idea is to be as much of a distraction as you possible can be, so you have to be enticing enough to catch, but not too much to dissuade the killer. SB is such a hot topic right now that killers just sigh in annoyance when they see it, and possibly won't want to deal with it.

Personally, I don't see SB as a problem on its own. You either have to walk the entire match, or waste it getting to somewhere and not have it when you need it. Throwing Vigil in there, I see where that becomes a problem. I feel like a lot of killers complain about exhaustion perks simply because they feel they're owed an easy down, but I'm all for them being changed for the sake of shaking the meta. Things have been the same for a bit too long, and I want to see how the playerbase adapts to the new meta.

  • Killers will use any excuse to justify tunneling, and it's never their fault.

  • I'm totally digging this idea, honestly.

  • Thank god we're finally having this discussion, because holy crap am I tired of this. It's no secret that most content creators are killer mains, and they all just constantly make videos saying how much they hate survivors with vitriol, all the while playing victim in the same breath. I wish we had more content creators that point out that killer mains are just as bad and entitled, and say it full heartedly. Because it's not just on youtube, but twitter is a nonstop machine of killer mains posting about how much they all hate survivors.

I'm just so tired of seeing killer mains build their community around hating survivors and get rewarded for it. I really don't think these types of creators should be in the Creators Program at all. Same goes for survivor mains that spread nonstop hatred for killer mains. You don't put people like that on a pedistool.

Unbreakable is a one time use, Conviction is only active once every time you heal another survivor, and Exponential is easily snuffed out. All of these perks are easily exhausted. Do you really want survivors to permanently have these perks in their build as well? That's generally not a good idea for the sake of build diversity.

they're probably going to if diminishing returns but

Unbreakable - one time use people were complaining that slugging was such an issue that survivors should have be running it every game bur instead of that thetadded the abandon feature

conviction - only active once every time you heal another survivor with resurgance being meta and not rinning self care most people are going to heal others at least 1 game

Exponential - easily snuffed out you can place boons infinitely and it goes through floors if 2 or more people run it sluggingis qlmost impossible

Killers, on the other hand, still have agency once the generators are powered. They can still get a kill or get points by whatever means. They aren't stuck helpless in place for 4 minutes. Because they too have perks that help them in scenarios, believe it or not. Bring perks like Remember Me, or No Way Out, or NoED if you're feeling adventurous.

unless you build specifically for endgame (which your just throwing at that point) that's not true since if your in endgame it's probably 3 -4 people live at endgame and toy specifically have to tunnel out the obsession remember me to work so if survivors decide to bring shoulder to prevent the tunnel or ds otr resurgence bt and a whole other host of perks not to mention bodyblocking , no way out can be circumvented by just touching the door and hiding and noed has revealed itself since 6.0 so only 1 person will get downed from it then it goes away and eben then only a singularity would run this w/o noed since he's the best at pressuring the gates

"they're probably going to if diminishing returns but"

Diminishing returns isn't going to affect any of these mentioned perks, what are you even talking about?

"Unbreakable - one time use people were complaining that slugging was such an issue that survivors should have be running it every game bur instead of that thetadded the abandon feature"

You're expecting and suggesting that Unbreakable be a permanent perk in a survivor's build, and you don't see a problem with that? We'll come back to this argument later…

"conviction - only active once every time you heal another survivor with resurgance being meta and not rinning self care most people are going to heal others at least 1 game"

You're not always going to be able to get the heal off on another survivor. Just because something is "meta" doesn't me it's 100% garuntee or even be reliant enough to warrant to bring.

"Exponential - easily snuffed out you can place boons infinitely and it goes through floors if 2 or more people run it sluggingis qlmost impossible "

If the killer doesn't notice the survivor is constantly getting up on their own within a certain area, then that's on them. But if they do notice, they will know not to slug them anymore, or look for the boon. Its easily countered.

"unless you build specifically for endgame (which your just throwing at that point) that's not true since if your in endgame it's probably 3 -4 people live at endgame"

That right there is why your argument is flawed, and you're too biased to see why. You suggested that survivors bring perks to counter a playstyle, but when the tables are turned around on you, you just say "Nuh uh, I don't wanna" and completely ignore that survivors ALSO don't want to have to be forced to bring in perks every game. Why should survivors have to bring certain perks every match to counter something, when killers aren't? That's such a huge double standard, and it just shows that killer mains refuse to change or even listen, and instead play victim.
Your scenarios of "If it's endgame, it's probably 3-4 people still alive" is also just wrong. If that's what you're consistently ending up with, then that is literally a skill issue.

Again, the reason why Survivors get to abandon is because the criteria for them to abandon boils down to "Nobody can do anything to progress the game" Killers want the abandon button because they just want to give up, even when they can still do something. So imagine for a second that killers do get the abandon feature after 5 gens popped. What do you think will happen?
More and more killers will quit, and they won't even get punished for it. They will cut the game short for the other team because they would rather give up than to at least try. Imagine if even just ONE survivor dc's the game abruptly ends—It'll feel absolutely miserable wouldn't it?

Bringing perks that are a heavily limited resource to every game isn't fun, nor is it a good solution. Especially when the other side won't take the same suggestion.

survivors can bring unbreakable conviction and boon exponental if all survivors are slugged (which survivors are throwing hard for that to happen) they can just abandon the moment the last survivor hits the ground and survivors are rewarded for not using these perks

Unbreakable is a one time use, Conviction is only active once every time you heal another survivor, and Exponential is easily snuffed out. All of these perks are easily exhausted. Do you really want survivors to permanently have these perks in their build as well? That's generally not a good idea for the sake of build diversity.

Because they too have perks that help them in scenarios, believe it or not. Bring perks like Remember Me, or No Way Out, or NoED if you're feeling adventurous.

  • Survivors get the abandon option when they literally can't do anything to progress the game, nor to even earn points.
Killers want it so they can give up and quit without the DC penalty. That's not a mentality that should be catered to.

The idea is foolproof. You didn't read it at all, otherwise you would be agreeing. Tunneling is completely unaffected by these changes, they're not changing at all what the core gameplay loop is. Its not guaranteed to be longer repairing gens, but its much easier to intercept a part retrieval and essentially defend generators by chasing someone who was planning on retrieving a part. your opinion is uneducated, and it shows in your lack of forum/game experience

You're too shortsighted, egotistical and narcissistic to realize that nothing is "foolproof". Everything will have a drawback. This plan's drawback is clearly making gen repair speed heavily slowed down due to having to walk around to find a McGuffin to get it back to normal speed, or else it's a 25% slow down. This gives the killer more time to tunnel, which is not what we want.

The devs have tried this tactic before, and nobody (the devs and internal play testers) thought it was a good idea. This game has so many complex things going for it that aren't spelled out for you, having gens be so easy serves as an anchor point for newcomers. When you throw in minigames and skillchecks, all the while having to be on the look out for the killer and pay attention to your surroundings, it's overwhelming to have your attention split. It's not good. Simple as.

But you're too narcissistic to agree with anything anyone who tells you differently. You need to work on that.

A lot of people have stated in the past that getting gas for a generator or maybe a spare part should be a thing, which could have a more

    variable completion time

since you may cross paths with the killer or you won't or the sub objective is far away

Aaaand, another person who doesn't read. Gotta love the forums community and DBD community in general, can never admit when they're wrong

While making gens potentially longer no matter the map factors or the killer being faced, you're incentivized to play more patiently and try to stop the killer from 3 genning using your ability to reduce the regression limit. though, to be fair, you as a survivor have the agency to run anti tunnel perks. If you hate tunneling so much, why are you not making an effort to prevent it yourself? Not to say tunneling isn't annoying and running these perks won't help a casual for example at preventing it and it wouldn't need to be prevented in the same patch so at least then tunneling isn't just decentivized, but also very hard to do.

My point with the Problem is as follows: Most killers tunnel in response and expectation that gens will fly, because it's possible for them to. That's just like how you as a survivor should expect a killer to tunnel when their not doing so great, and run the newly free Decisive Strike to prepare for a potential tunnel for example. Now that's a common sense no brainer

I read it. You just can't accept the fact that your idea is garbage.

  • Making gens take longer only gives the killer more time to tunnel.

You can disagree with me, but it just shows you're ignorant and won't accept the truth, and are just uneducated. It's okay though, not everyone could be high mmr like me. I understand.

  • I'll never understand why killers let them tbag for minutes instead of pushing them out. It takes way less time, and saves you the stress. But instead, you choose to sit there and watch it and get upset about it, and make posts to garner sympathy.

We call that a victim complex.

I'll also never understand why tbagging in this game is so upsetting to killer mains in the first place. Have you all never played any other pvp game? Do you get this distraught about getting tbagged in games like overwatch? If you do, I recommend not playing any pvp games. You clearly can't handle it.

Buddy, you're taking my whole entire premise of "Killers losing their mind at tbgagging in gates" and throwing it away. However you personally feel or see things is not relevant. I'm talking as a whole, in general. I'm not talking about tbagging during chase, or after a stun or anything else. I'm talking about the killers rejecting the idea that if the survivors are in the gates tbagging, they can force them out instead of having a mental breakdown and complaining on the forums about it.

Taking it out? Who says there arent any people (killers for your understanding because that's your whole objection and nothing else just this narrow view on the whole picture) loosing their minds, some even loose their mind if its map they dont like or someone runs some perk (corrupt, pain res, no mither, sprintburst, etc.) or its character they dont like, like facing killer that isnt their favorite ghoul, blight, legion or playing with certain survivor they dont like (megs, sables because of their behavior is taken more in general as same taken by majority of cases when someone sandbags you or dies super fast or fails save and thats all he does whole game the most survivors that do that are these few).

I did I rejected that "idea of your" that killer can force them out? sure he can and he will if he doesnt want to stare at them longer time (sometimes its benefical while force some out so others cant get helped but cases this happening are low, just focing survivor out is tactical thing to just mentioning it for making your knowledge richer about that "idea of yours").

Idk who has mental problem like some but thats their problem and as I said earlier playing DBD for years you have to have either mental problems or strong will.

I don't care about when you feel you should abandon. I'm not interested in if you personally are offended or how you handle it.

Well thats your opinion I just mentioned above thats its kinda double standart that survivor can leave freearly with abandon without getting any penalty when game is over for them and killer cant, thats just fact you cant chew on and your hypothetically expetations that thats not case are all dependent on rng factor that isnt guarantee as fact that when gates are open survivors can leave meaning killers objective is try to kill them or force them out so game is over if they dont have hook or slug to deffend just facts you know.

I want to know why it's such a big thing in this game where as any other pvp game, it's such a nonissue. If a Tracer tbags you in overwatch, you don't go to Blizzard forums and demand that any tgbaggers gets immediately banned. I'm tired of Killers acting like they're the biggest victims of this one specific thing happening, and pretending like they don't have the means to end it themselves.

In other games I bet people complain to but there probably arent forums for that like this Idk (or are on reddit etc.), if they are then here its tolareted but your "tired of killers being victims" has same value when someone complains as when killer slugs or tunnels you might not like it but thats strategy thats in that game because its taken as valid if it wasnt and devs didnt want it there would be some measuress taken for solving it like we had with facecamping (unhooks can be made from different angles not just one, there is "anticamp meter" for your information this is for facecamping and hook camping in certain are devs consider it problematec not your personal believs of for what it is and that meter makes survvior be able to unhook themselfs).

So you dont liking one side screaming and crying to certain things that offends them and not taking same meter for other is just double standart, before you accuse me Im not crying about either thing only pointing out facts if it is ok or not well done as thing (like hardcore tunneling at 5 gens where killer just hooks one survivor he targets and ignores other compleatly, abandon when gates are open as option for the killer because his objective has ended if he has no preasure as I mentioned multiple times above), if you dsilike people "victimizing themselves" much well i understand that I personaly dont like it much to but still fact is if you tbag killer and he tunnels you you cant be mad because he maybe didnt understood what you meant (in DBD comunication as survivor is very limited to your teammates and killer to) same with pointing on him he might misunderstand it or get mad so if you have problems with that then play smart and dont do it, especialy when you know he can do something about it in game and do it when he cant do nothing about it like tbaging at gates (he can hit you or down you but he cant kill you if you dont leave him).

You keep adding these topic and subjects that I'm not even talking about, making assumptions and thinking you have something. It's exhausting. Yes, entitled survivors exist. I'm not talking about them right now. That's a different subject matter, one that is talked nonstop within the Killer influencer circle.

Because the killer still has agency. That's the thing you're not getting through to your head. The abandon feature is for when there is literally nothing the survivor can do, not even simple button prompts. Why is that so hard to understand? Again, I'm not against the idea of killers getting the abandon feature when gates are open. I know you want to ignore me saying this so you look like you're int he right, but that's now how it works. The only objection I have is that killers wanting it just so they can't have their egos hurt at the threat of seeing a crouch animation.

Saying "If it wasn't a valid strategy, devs would take it out", right after killer mains cried so hard TWICE to get the anti-tunnel/slugging changes removed is hilarious. They clearly know it's a frustrating part of the game, but they're too scared to upset the loudest whiners. Survivors queue into games just as you do, and it takes around 5-10 minutes to get into a game. Only for them to be forced out within 3, without being able to do anything impactful isn't good for the game. That's why it's a problem. You don't think slugging is an issue, then how about this: Play as perkless Trapper, and standstill for 3 minutes. Come back and tell me how much fun you had. I bet it won't be. But hey, slugging the survivor on the ground for 4 minutes is okay and not at all a problem, right?

Again, you're taking points that I'm not even talking about, making assumptions, and thinking you're right. You're arguing with yourself at this point. I never said survivors aren't a problem. I'm only talking about the issue of Killers being the issue. I will say this for the like the 5th time at this point: My main point. my ONLY point is that killers need to get over themselves, and hit the survivors out of the gate. THAT'S. IT. I'm not talking about anything else. You went wild with so many assumptions, and it's quite exhausting.

  • @Abbzy said:

It really doesn't take that long to hit them out, no matter how many of them there are. Is it any slower than standing there, letting them tbag? You want the game to end as fast as possible, yet you refuse to take the solution all because the killer can't handle seeing a crouch animation. The abandon option for survivor is because there is literally nothing you can do, and the game is over. Survivor has lost all agency and can no longer do any actions. Killers can still have a chance.

If gates are open and survivors are in the gate area or near healty theres nothing you can do because its game over for you and arguments that some killers can get down and make hook from it arent much helping because all that happens only because of survivors mess up nothing more its like killer missing hit and you get from that chance to make vault or pallet all that chance came only because someone made mistake and you benefit but that doesnt mean its something consistent as you claim her with "killer can still have chance" yeah they have but its super thin and so small.

Survivors can still have chance to and abandon just because you want to skip the mori or cant wait for hatch or gate is just same as killer with open gates situation, unless killer has some preasure in for of slug, hooked survivor or he wants to continue there isnt realy point stand there and push someone out because survivor still mess around and dont leave so its unnecessary time waste for the both sides especialy killer.

Im not offended by tbaging, I play this game some years and I have met more harmfull exploits and threats than someone pressing ctrl in gate area, on other side its easy to do something you know you cant be punished for it and theres nothing other side can do to stop it like killer humping last downed survivor and than pulling mori on them you can feel though but there is nothing though about it its like pulling candy from toddler nothing more.

I'm not fully against the idea of killers abandoning when gates are open, believe it or not. If you're playing someone like Trapper, and have no means to block their leaving, sure go for it. But the reasoning of only wanting it because you can't handle tbagging, then no. You need to get over it and just push them out.

I dont what you have about not being able to handle someone pressing repetedately ctrl, look Im in this game for some time and that means I can handle something because many left for even lesser reasons, pushing out isnt problem but why stay when some dont even wait in gate are but farming points from totems and etc. near and miking last game longer it should be thats like not giving abandon to 4 slug survivors or they get it after 1 minute because they have to wait and see how it goes in terms of your logic, game for them is over so they can left if they want and same should apply for the killer to.

If a survivor is obnoxious and is tbagging you during chase, then by all means, get your revenge. Again, my main point, my main question is why do killers have such thin skin to where they see tbagging, and freak out as if they've never seen such an act before? I see it on forums and threads all the time. They act as if they can't take action into their own hands and force them out. Instead, they have a break down and cry, spreading this narrative that these evil survivor mains are just so mean to the wholesome killer who never does any wrong. It's just tbagging.

Thats on everyone else how will they react when someone tbags during the chase, some just are overeacting but I get it its strange like imagine if killer chased you normaly and you didnt do anything that could trigger him possibly and he still just downed you and humped you on the grond for like 10 seconds repetedeatly, would it be kinda iritating or super unfun (personaly i dont care because its +10 seonds to my chase and thats above 10% of the generator which is more than gen progress from BPN in comparison, so I would laugh at it and take it as more time waste and good work form me).

I dont realy care if they tbag and spawn gg ez because i faced more serious messages in endgame chatt like dead threats and insults to my family, rasist bs etc. but my point is now survivors have option to skip the end of the game if they loose or dont want to fight for that chance of escape like for hatch if they are last so they can abandon (even if its just mori that takes like 7-8 seconds they can still skip it) but killer can when gates are opened and thats kinda loss (like i explained earlier if killer has no valid preasure or will and dedication to continue and try to fight for that chance that is very small like 4% unhook without luck from perks and offerings than he should get option call it gg and end it as survivors can), now killer can abandon in few situations like if survivors just hide for 10 minutes and dont do gens or when he is left with whole lobby of bots and maybe one more is there but I cant remember.

I think when gates are opened killers objective is mostly done (doesnt need to be but thats on the killer and its explained above or previus post from me) and he should have option to call it a gg same as survivors can in simular situations.

Thats my opinion about this issue.

Buddy, you're taking my whole entire premise of "Killers losing their mind at tbgagging in gates" and throwing it away. However you personally feel or see things is not relevant. I'm talking as a whole, in general. I'm not talking about tbagging during chase, or after a stun or anything else. You can do plenty on the ground, you can crawl around and look for a teammate to pick you up and get you back into the game. If all 4 are slugged you can just DC at this point so nothing to worry about there.

    "You can do plenty"
    Mentions only one thing

You do realize crawling stops the recovery process, yeah? The best thing to do in most cases is to literally do nothing. You're taking away most agency away from the player by slugging them for 4 minutes.

Where as tbagging in gate takes away none of the agency from the killer, and only hurts their ego.

  • @Abbzy said:

It can take way more than 10 seconds, depends on how many are there with what they have like dead hard and to your knowledge survivor can skip 8 seconds of mori with abandon so your comparison of demanding double standart is kinda lost because now you can skip more games as survivor with abandon so why you cant as killer as well when the game is just over?

(I think if gates are open there isnt any point to stay as killer if you dont have any pressure and just waste time going to the open gate to force someone out, like half of the survivors will still hide near and farm some point and wont leave so why killer has to stay if survivor can abandon when the whole team is downed and no one is standing, when survivor can abandon when he is last one or when he is about to get moried and can choose to skip this so why killer cant do the same???)

Who is tormented by tbaging is his personal issue for me tbaging has many answers is certain situations like challanging killer to commit or mocking him so I take it as sport and answer it with reasonable reaction like other actions such as sabboing=sluging etc. not because it hurts my ego but because why should I be nice to someone who plays “dirty” and is using his options no matter how they arent nice to me (imagine it like the race scene from dictator movie where he shoots one faster guy into leg and scares others so he can win, why should I play nice against someone who is doing all dirty tricks to win, why shouldnt do the same).

Tbag killer as much as you want but then dont scream why he is tunneling you and ignores others, someone takes tbaging as offensive action someone doesnt so unless you have no guarantee you can do it and escape than rather dont do it or take the risk.

It really doesn't take that long to hit them out, no matter how many of them there are. Is it any slower than standing there, letting them tbag? You can force them out but what it changes? Nothing just speds up the loss do abandon should be option once gates are open because its just few points vs few minutes in which I can be loading into another game or be in lobby waiting for the start of next match as killer in night time with my lobby queues.

What's the point of speeding up a match when it doesn't take 10 seconds to hit them out? My whole point is that you killer mains need to toughen up. It's just tbagging. DBD is the only game where I see someone suggest the other team to lose if they tbag, or say things like "Bleeding out their sanity". I dare you to go to any forums of a PVP game, and say these things. You'll be laughed and mocked at. Tbagging is just a part of gaming, whether you like it or not. It's so inoffensive, but you killer mains can't handle it at all.

You don't need an abandon option when you still have agency. You don't need to "speed it up" when it doesn't take but a few seconds to push them out. You just need to get over yourselves, and stop acting like helpless victims. Don't just stand there and watch them tbag you. The faster you push them out, the faster the game ends.

Why are you mad about the killer bleeding you out on the ground for 4 minutes?

There's nothing I can do when I"m on the ground. You killer mains can hit the survivors out of the gate, but you just aren't emotionally stable enough to so much as look at them.

So bleeding the killer of his sanity for 2 minutes of teabagging at the gates is fine then? They value survivors' time, but not the killer's, that was the whole point: symmetrical situation, but different privileges, survivors get to quit the moment they fall on the ground, even if the killer has no intention to slug for 4 minutes, so that dear survivors can skip the mori animation and thus protect their ego, but the killer can't do anything against a bully squad but to obediently endure the humiliation procedure. Survivor sided design, QED.

Buddy…why are you letting them tbag you at the gate for 2 minutes? That's a problem you're making for yourself. HIT. THEM. OUT.

I seriously need to understand something. Why are killer so thin skinned? It's tbagging. It happens in every pvp game, but dbd is the only game where tbagging is seen as such a detriment to someone's mental health? For god sake, read what you said "Bleeding the killer of his sanity". If such a mundane thing is THAT harmful to you, maybe pvp games aren't for you. You all make tbagging out to be the worst crime imaginable. It's pretty pathetic.

why does no one ever talk about how killers just bully solo queue survivors?

Because the community is killer sided, and you can't speak ill of them, lest you get labeled as a whiney, toxic, entitled survivor main who doesn't understand just how hard it is to be a killer main.

    Mate, like... Seriously?

Did I forget the part where I must have said that Off The Record makes you invincible? No, because I never said that.

The point of the endurance was specifically to prolong the chase and give the survivor a second chance via an being able to tank an additional hit, incase the killer wanted to tunnel, which will prolong the chase and give the survivors more time.

Arguing that high mobility killers will still down you quickly has nothing to do with the argument, because by that time OTR already did it's job with the endurance. That's a high mobility killer issue not an OTR issue.

Did I ever say that OtR made you invincible either? Because I certainly didn't. Your argument was for anti-tunneling, not prolonging the chase. You never said anything about prolonging the chase until now. Along with saying "You can't add certain killers into the mix" is moving the goal post, and I'm not going to waste my time any further.

I sincerely hope you have a good day, and please take care.

     "You take the endurance hit"

This right here, you said it yourself. You take the endurance hit, which MIGHT be within the first 10 seconds yeah, but it won't always be, which is where you will get that juicy value. That's what the 80 second endurance did, you know?

You say that as if…that's all there is to it? Do you think that if you take the endurance hit that the killer just…stops chasing you? That can happen sure, but I guarantee you that the killer is going to keep chasing you, and you'll be dead within seconds, especially if it's a killer with range or mobility.

How exactly is that going to help with tunneling?

The scenario you put forth is that the killer is already proxy camping, then chases you off the hook, you take the hit, and then you think you're not getting tunneled anymore?

In which case you can still just stay close-ish to the hook and tunnel anyway. Besides, don't assume things like this when it's not even guaranteed to be coming, given BHVR's track record. What counts is now, and now OTR is pretty much pointless without the endurance, which was 95% of the reason why people took it.

Okay, so in that case, how was the old OtR going to help you? You take the endurance hit (which probably would have been from basekit Borrowed Time anyway), and then what? Get tunneled out anyway. In this case, you should have your teammate take the hit, or if you're in a sfw, ask them to have Borrowed Time on them if you're that concerned.

And you're right, I can't garutnee that the new anti-tunneling systems will help with the new OtR, or even come at all. In that case, then we can pick up our pitch forks and ask for a revert.

It's good if killer is blind yeah, I mean until we get some anti tunnel on live server they should have kept AT LEAST 30 seconds of endurance, smart devs would just not touch OTR at all until next PTB… seems really obvious I don't know why we always need to explain the most basic things

I'm only going to play Devil's Advocate here. I only guess that they didn't want to make that change (30 second endurance), or even keep it as it was when the perk is going to be changed to it's current iteration anyway.

All nice in theory until you realize it is all completely pointless if the killer just comes back to the hook when the survivor gets unhooked, and that same survivor just going down 10 seconds later.

I'm assuming that the delayed notification/unhooking status mechanic is going to be coming along with the upcoming anti-tunneling system, so this possibly won't be a huge issue. You have to remember those aren't fully scrapped, and will be coming to possibly make the perk stronger.

  • I think the new OtR is still pretty good. 80 seconds of no aura reading, scratch marks, nor grunts of pain (Even after you're healed) is pretty handy. Sure, endurance is a strong (if not THE strongest) anti-tunnel mechanic, but this new OtR is way more versatile. Pair it with Light-Footed, you're practically a ghost. The old OtR created this situation where you either had to wait 80 seconds doing nothing, or completely waste it by getting on a gen too soon; It was a Do-or-Die perk that wasn't very interactive. Now, you can actually go do stuff all the while still having all of the perks active!

Yes, the timing of the nerf is unfortunate. But the anti-tunneling mechanics are still coming (at least, I hope they are…). So I understand them on pushing out this change when it was already good to go.

not everyone was calm and reasonable but plenty of people expressed real valid concerns from the start. have you seen the original post of this thread? Don’t pretend like survivors are ways calm and reasonable. But all I’m seeing now are survivors claiming the only reason this patch was canceled is because of loud screeching which is blatantly not true. The patch was very flawed and we saw it from the announcement, luckily for everybody the devs listened and we will hopefully get a better solution to actually tunneling and malicious slugging in the near future.

Killer mains losing their minds is a pretty big reason this got thrown out entirely within a couple of days and not the full PTB. I don't know why you think it could be anything else. If the majority were calm about it stating the flaws and not screeching "DBD IS DEAD I'M LEAVING I QUIT", then they would probably just adjust some stuff mid PTB and push more changes when it came to live like normal.

Yeah that's absolutely the way this played out. No insults were flung. There weren't a zillion overreacting posts. Everyone was so clam and reasonable.

You are correct. There were countless killer mains screaming "Crybaby survivors getting their handheld!!!!!". Thank you for supporting my claim.

    New patch announced:

Killers- “this looks real bad, these changes don’t target hard tunneling or toxic 5 gen slugging at all. They’re going to be abused just like all of the current anti tunnel/slug measures”

Survivors- “shut up baby and wait for the numbers”

Patch is revealed and released to PTB:

Killers- “these numbers are even worse than I thought. here are specific examples of how this will be abused, or just affect killers who play the game in a healthy way. Here are several ideas for systems that are both simpler and better at targeting the actual problem.”

Survivors- “shut up baby you just want to tunnel someone out every game for EZ wins”

    Patch is killed:

Survivors: “KILLERS ARE THE WORST THEY JUST CRY ABOUT EVERYTHING! THERE WERE FLAWS WITH THIS BUT KILLERS SHOULD’VE JUST DEALT WITH THEM BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY GET 4 MAN SLUGGED AND TUNNELED OUT EVERY SINGLE GAME!! I DON’T EVEN HAVE ANY SORT OF WAY TO COMBAT EITHER OF THESE STRATEGIES LIKE PERKS OR UNHOOK BUFFS OR ANYTHING!”

This wasn’t a “loud minority” of people crying to get their way. It was many people, some of whom coincidentally have a lot of experience with this game, providing feedback on several platforms. Which was the purpose. Killers provided specific valid concerns and proved the flaws with these changes in the ptb, this patch absolutely didn’t need to go live. Maybe the survivors should try providing actual solutions to the problems they think are in the game for the devs to listen to? As a mostly killer player I would say that strategy seems to have worked and is in general much more useful to a dev team than just yelling “killers are your favorites!”

I like how you made the killers the level headed ones when they were the ones losing their minds collectively and got the patch scrapped.

  • Getting 1 hit downs with aura reading is way too strong. Putting it with Lethal Pursuer is just going to make it worse. Imagine Nurse having this. It'd be a complete nightmare.
