I mean, you can't find KR's from the PTB. Which is funny, because that means you also couldn't find any KR's from the PTB you claim made the game unwinnable (it didn't). It had huge potential to make the game better for everyone, but people lost their minds and got whipped up by some biased content creators, imo. Now, we get more tunneling, more miserable players and nothing to show for it.
Yeah, I mean, you'd get chased by Victor and just die, then the rest of your team would follow quickly. There wasn't anything you could do about it.
That's why it got scrapped and never saw the light of Live servers.
so this never happenened https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/455250/9-2-0-ptb-patch-notes
i guess this never happened eitherTunneling Penalties
- When a Survivor dies to a hook action or Mori before 6 total hook states, the remaining Survivors gain a 25% repair speed bonus.
- When a Survivor that was previously hooked is Killed or Sacrificed, the Killer loses the ability to block, damage, or regress generators by any means.

At face value, the map changes was made to address survivor squads sending killers to very unfavorable maps. But the map offering changes could have been done differently.
Like compacting the map offerings into two offerings, where one had a 50% chance to send you to an outdoor map, and the other had a 50% chance to send you to an indoor map.there is a HUGE problem with your idea… it makes sense .. so obviously the devs wont even consider it

Are we seriously comparing gen kick limits to exhaustion perk limits?
Yes, I know why there are S tier killers that I see in the games that I play - you are arguing with the wrong person, I love facing Nurse - so, I do not care to see back to back Nurse gameplay as she is my favorite S tier killer to face, still not an argument. You can play with whatever killer you wanna play, whatever perk combinations you want to play, I do not care because I can simply adapt to whatever I am facing in a trial.
Just because I don't play killer as much (the reason being that I typically am bored when I play it) again, is not an argument. You are doing a false equivalence argument (logical fallacy) to incorporate your flawed logic.
Simple question, do you want gen tapping back or not?
simple question . i am forced by the games code to be limited in how many times im able to do what is especially part of my objective ie protecting gens. should survivors be equally limited in their ability to to their objective . go play killer at a high level i promise you, your holier then thou attitude will change immediately

Yeah, it prevented them from playing the game lol you just died and there wasn't anything you could do
Twins were literally better, and far easier, than Nurse.
so your telling me the game itself as in the actual mechanics itself blocked you from doing anything and instantly killed you . your saying twins was an instant win button . if i was to find the kill rates from that time .. twins kill rates would be 100% right ?
-
and did that stop the survivors ability to do something for literally the rest of the game ? how is a killer rework comparable to not being able to protect gens for the rest of the game . thats like comparing a paper cut to a gun shot wound .

I've played killer before, not as much as my survivor hours obviously - if you are reaching the gen kick limit that astronomically, you are either piling on so much gen regression to reach that limit or you are going out of your way to repeatedly kick a gen (a waste of time, in my opinion) over and over again.
I used Onryo with Pop/Pain Res or Surge with /BBQ/Lethal Pursuer and I hardly if ever reach a noticeable gen kick limit, but I also incorporate chase mechanisms and know how to play Onryo to prevent hitting the necessary 8 to begin with.
The gen kick limit was introduced because of Knight, old Skull Merchant, and Doctor holding three gens and stalling games for an hour.
If you want to get rid of the gen kick limit, you would have to undo the gen tapping changes to mitigate three gen holding.
Some killers will opt to hold a three gen down, especially on Haddonfield where I've had multiple gens spawn in a corner or even a three gen in a straight line, we'd have to fundamentally change gen spawns (spread them out further too, but you would not want to have this conversation).
Instead of focusing on the gen kick limit, look inwards to understand why that issue is prevalent for your games but not for other killer mains, it's a small non-issue, in my opinion.
should there be a gen touch limit . or a exhaustion perk limit ? have you ever wondered why all you see are the same perks or the same s tier killers .. its survivor entitlement and gen speeds. you stated yourself that you dont play killer alot . if you use eruption that 8 limit that you say is so high becomes 4 . i never had a problem with gen tapping . i started in 2017 .. if we brought back that for no kick limit so be it .

killer clowns is dying because they dont add new content.
TCSM died because they tried to charge more then dbd for dlc and let players see who they where going to verse and if they where on comms leading to mass lobby dodging if you are comms. also as a Australian there servers sucked and would boot you 90% of matches due to high ping because they couldn't even do a oceanic server.
evil dead nobody played, didn't even know it existed until it was cancelled. dead by daylight will die if they don't do something for SURVIORS this whole year they have gotten nothing
fog vials nerfed due to killer complaints
both of the last ptbs reverted because "the update was too hard on low tiers"
they have to deal with the ghoul who its been crickets on if he will be changed.when you take into account what the devs WANTED to give to you . the fact that the devs even put ######### like " if you get a kill before 6 hooks you cant kick gens " in a ptb shows they wanted that to happen. find me something in any ptb or patch notes that is remotely as powerful as that .

This is misinformation. Surge counts as only one regression event.
The only thing that technically counts for two is eruption, one for the kick to apply it and another for the trigger when you get a down.
If you trigger eruption and surge at the same time with a down, that is two regression events, but it’s not surge counting as 2.
thats my bad , i thought it was surge but my point still stands

You watch too many YouTube videos. In the 5 years I've played I've participated in a number of surveys, some geared more towards survivor and some geared more towards Killer. If the devs are specifically wanting to hear from survivors at this stage, then whatever. They see more than we do and have their reasons.
you say 5 years … i'll raise you 8. i have been in this games community since 2017. i have seen things and experienced things in this game that you wouldnt even begin to understand. this dev team has always been favouring survivors, never once has the dev team referred to survivors players as "evil" before but they did exactly that to killers .
when asked by a player who said that killer was too stressful and asked if the devs had a plan to address killer problems
matheiu cote famously said
"I would say maybe try survivor for a bit. It's true, change it up, maybe you are just tired. Maybe play something else for a week, try civilization or something " - this quote wasnt from last year , or the year before that , or the year before that , it was from 2018. things have not changed .
if your a survivor player the devs will drop everything to cater to you . if your a killer " go play something else " and maybe we should . every single horror ASYM that has come out that has catered to the side that isnt the 1 person has died .VHS -dead , Killer clowns from outer space - dead, TCSM- dead , evil dead : the game - dead , dead by daylight - on its death bed .
piss the killers off and you wont have a game to play . history has proven this .. without us your game dies . -

I think your point here is kinda hurt by the fact that's just not how DH works. It deactivates after you use it, and the only way to reactivate it is to get hooked again. Not to mention you can't use a medkit while deep wounded, so even if you could you would have to be able to mend mid chase first to even attempt it. So it is actually balanced the way you would want.
I think following your argument, that would mean lightborn having tokens would actually be fine right?there are perks that exist that revolve around flashlights .. champion of light comes to mind if you want a token system for lightborn then i think its only fair that survivors have a token system for all exhaustion perks . they can only be used once . and maybe dead hard wasnt the best example but let me tell you this.. 3 sprint bursts in a row in one chase is FAR more powerful then not being able to blind the killer . or do you just wanna make it easier to be toxic
-
@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
Lightborn exists as a means for players that are not confident playing killer (as it is more stressfull and many avoid that role) to freely play against bully squads / swf teams and generaly people that wont let you pick someone up, and avoid the stress of constantly being blinded. Its like a beginner perk such as noone escapes death, but usefull in all levels of play since bully squads and swfs are more common once you reach a higher mmr.
Consider what happens if you were to nerf this perk, bully squads will now have no counterplay besides a high amount of game knowledge and skill. If all it does is prevent blinding, it doesnt prevent survivors from finnishing their objectives and escaping with normal looping. Its always seemed entirely fair to me compared to nooed
second chance perks exist as a means for players that are not confident playing survivor . i can do that too . why do you need 15 second chance perks , why do you need 9 basekit perks, why do you need to have your hand held so unbelievably hard

Why would they get that treatment?
because it would be fair. let me run you by a scenario that CAN happen in the game now and i want you to tell me if this is fair
a survivor gets get hit 1 time . gets injured . uses dead heard gets hit again endurance saves him. thats hit number 2 . uses the syringe and dead hards again . thats hit number 3 . uses the perk blood rush to get endurance again . thats hit number 4 . finally goes down .. thats hit number 5.
5 hits to get 1 down . now i want you to find a way to justify that . -

It's a rework either way, but yes, it would make the perk a little weaker.
Healthier, more interesting, and with far more opportunities to use it, but slightly weaker.
It'd still be perfectly serviceable protection against bully squads because you can still avoid the blinds more often than not. That isn't a real concern here.
should second chance perks get the same treatment . you can only use lithe , balanced or dead hard once so use it wisely . if you wanna do that to make killers weaker then survivors should be similarly weakened .

Well, that statement is rather redundant and baits the audience into thinking BHVR favors Survivors, which is laughable.
Killers have quite the voice. Perhaps, when I started, you would've had a point. Now though? And for the past few years? The game has shifted to be designed around Killer enjoyment and their experience first.
We see this in the Kill Rates. We see it in their absolute fear of their Killer Content Creators riling people up. We see it in their response to Fog Vials and we see it in their response to Pallet Density; where they killed most safe loops and removed pallets from maps entirely.
So, once again, the idea that BHVR prioritizes Survivors is absolutely laughable. The game is Killer-favored by design.
laughable you say ..hmm.. im gonna assume you saw the last survey right ? pray tell.. where exactly was the option for killer feedback ? let me answer that .. it didnt exist . but is was sure to ask what killers survivors didnt like cause thats very important to them . secondly when you uninstall on steam .. tell me where it asks why a killer would uninstall .. oh it doesnt … all we get is a little box called "other" . in their more recent dev streams they stated they were basing decisions off of the uninstall survey .. the same survey that gave killers 0 voice. if you honestly think the game is killer sided i got a bridge i think you'll absolutely love .

If you had no tokens, you would be vulnerable to flashlight saves but the other protection - removing the visual effect - would still happen.
Protecting against flashlight saves is the only thing the tokens do.
if thats the case i stand by my original statement . that is a Nerf disguised as a rework. and i would do everything i possibly could to ensure that didnt happen. bully squads and toxic survivors do NOT need any more power then they already have. i have been playing since docs release , if this were to happen i would quit immediately

Well, if all you care about is avoiding the blind visual, my suggestion makes Lightborn better at that.
For the question, well, in the rare scenario you genuinely can't avoid a save, and you also don't want to slug… that's why Lightborn has tokens to bail you out. That's what the perk is for.
maybe im misunderstanding, what would happen if you had no tokens . the perk would be dead yes ? would there be a way to recover tokens ? cause if not then this rework sounds like a nerf to me

personally i use it a lot cause the way the blind is shown on the killer side gives me a migraine so i dont have a choice but to use it . if you wanna do the token thing.. alright .. flashlights are a one use item . you use it once its gone . -

@jesterkind said:
Lightborn, in my opinion, is not a healthily designed perk. That's not to say it's the game's biggest balance problem right now, it isn't, but it is a perk that passively shuts down an entire suite of options on the opponent's side for zero effort, tradeoff, or limitation. Equip Lightborn, blinds don't exist anymore.
An easy comparison can be made to pre-rework Distortion, which effectively shut off auras for the player who equipped it, but Distortion was at least supposed to be limited by its tokens. Lightborn is just fully passive and fully perfect.A previous post of mine illuminated that a lot of people want Lightborn to be a counter specifically to flashlight saves, so this time around I'm pitching a slightly more complex but ultimately still pretty straightforward and reasonable version of the perk to still allow it to function in that capacity with a healthier, more active design. It looks like this…
- When a survivor successfully blinds you, the visual blind effect no longer triggers and their aura is revealed for 10 seconds
- While carrying a survivor, attempted blinds spend a token and prevent you from dropping that survivor. Lightborn starts with four tokens.
In essence: if a survivor blinds you at a pallet or window, the blind goes through mechanically (the beam shrinks and expands, and any other perks on both sides relevant to blinds activate) but you aren't actually affected by it in any way + get an aura on top.
If a survivor gets a flashlight save on you, though, Lightborn will actually block it, but only four times; you still should be trying to avoid blinds where possible against aggressive players, but you've got a safety net of a few mistakes before it'll actually cost you. This, I think, is a solution that hopefully should be acceptable to everyone. Lightborn has fun applications to punish flashlights in general without denying survivors use of their items and perks in general, and it also has more limited application protecting against saves without being completely brainless.
no. straight up unequivocally no .

Killers need a rage mechanic. Like 5-10 seconds where you can't get stunned back to back. Long enough to not get hit by a Head on to flashbang to DS to Blood Rush Head On to flashbang, but short enough to be able to stun the killer twice with pallets. Of course Blight's OP ahh would probably only get 3 seconds lol.
Even Friday had a Rage mechanic if you stunned him to much you could never stun him again. Something like that would be cool. Hard to feel like a killer when you're getting stun locked for 10 seconds straight.
Same with blinds too. Chain blinds shouldn't be a thing. What if after 5 seconds the killers learned to close their flipping eyeballs? That would be dope.
oh that would make the survivor have less fun. remember our roll in this game . we are volunteers whos sole purpose is to make sure the little survivors have fun . thats our job… there is no such role as killer we arent allowed to do that anymore according to the devs or that makes us "evil"

actually being able to regress gens would help with the tunneling you all claim to have a problem with
Nope, having killers fixate on kicking gens created the least engaging gameplay I've ever seen in this game.
Kick a gen and go back to hook immediately, or dropping chase entirely to patrol their 3 gen or just make sure that every gen has been kicked. People desperately want "gen kick simulator" back because it effectively made the game pve with the added bonus of pissing off actual players.
People used gen kick meta to show gens so they had time to tunnel more. That entire year is a case study in exactly why "gen speeds" do not "fix" tunneling in general. Most killers will just take the extra time to make tunneling more effective for easier wins instead of going for map pressure.
should there be a limit to how many times a survivor can touch a gen ?
Almost everything survivors do has a limit. You can't even vault more than 3 times without blocking a window. You can't be hooked more than 3 times, you can't heal base kit, or if you have a reasonable healing speed it comes with charges that are consumed.
Gens are not the killers objective, survivors are. The gen kick limit exists solely because BHVR allowed people to forget that fact, and some people are still confused to this day.. It's "killer", not "saboteur".
if as you say " gens are not the killers objective , survivors are " why are you and survivors like you .. all mad about tunneling .. as you just said . we are only doing our objective right ?
-
you have base kit info on gens being worked on… its called the hud
-

what if the killer just decides to pick the best 3 gen on the map, ignore all the other gens and FORCE the survivors into a 3 gen because they wont leave the area because they know they can just hold it. that was the issue that was occurring.
I honestly don't think I've seen a killer not be able to kick a gen since it was introduced.its happened to me many times , and it sucks . things like surge seem to count as 2 regression events instead of 1 so that means that gen gets blocked twice as fast

Hey everyone, it´s me again.
Late at night I came to the conclusion, that perks which have tokens like Pain Res or Grim Embrace should be disabled after sacrificing the first survivor but should be buffed as long as all Survivors are alive.
Why do I think this is a good idea.
- It promotes a spreading of hooks and removes some kind of tunneling
- If a survivor is tunneld out the game becomes much harder for the Survivors and the Killer doesn´t need another 2 Pain Res or the effect of Grim Embrace when the second one gets tunneld out.
This change would in my opinion nerf some of the stronger Regression perks if the Killer goes for the natural Slowdown of a 3v1 and gives the not tunneling Killer some more time because if you spread hooks you get more Regression.
so.. how will gen progression or second chance perks impacted. should you only be able to use dead hard or sprint burst once per trial ? please explain to me how this would do anything other then completely kill the game . ive heard some bad ideas in my time but this .. wow. congrats .

Her power allows her to infect any and every interactable object aside from her fountains and infects survivors and lasts a long time
The only way to prevent full infect is use the fountains which gives your location away and gives the killer a op m2 which, if angled correctly, can go up to 20-30 meters I believe and able to swiped left to right extremely fast to almost always guarantee hit, and in rare instances, she can 2 tap someone to down them with the same vile stream if their at full health, combine this with gen lock down, and it makes it impossible to escape, all matches I have had with her always ends up with a 3 or 4ks
And the only way to not get full infection to not run, do gens, or totems (not sure sure chests) in order to not get fully infected, but not only that, when she hooks someone, she can infect them if they aren't already but it also KEEPS THEIR CURRENT SICKNESS PROGRESS and it injuries and permanently causes the broken affect until its gotten rid of, and it's not fun to be damned if you and damned if you don't,
People complained about day 1 wesker being op with 8% hindered with hit infection staying at its current progress even on hook (or increases while on hook, idk if that was a thing, but I think it was, correct me if I'm wrong) and bc of it, his infection doesn't do anything other than passive slowdown which doesn't really do anything aside from giving him a insta carry when they are infected and injured (or insta carry when healthy and fully infected which almosy NEVER happens)
I'm surprised not many people are talking about how op she is and unfair she is, yes, ik loops and corners are your best friend against her, but, even so, it's way to difficult to not get downed from 20ish meters away by a spec of vile stream (it also has a short cooldown as well, making it easy to attack again after the first)
your kidding right , shes a b tier killer . they would better off just nerfing pig

The survivor experience isn't great and it's been relatively the same since the beginning. The tunneling, slugging and camping is obviously a big factor but also just the gameplay. I think everyone agrees that the chases are the most interesting part of the game, but a lot of the match is just survivors on a gen holding down one button or on a hook waiting… not very engaging in the long run and especially when those things are prolonged because of things like tunneling, slugging and camping or with perks destroying generator progress (Which is of course are often necessary perks but obviously that means survivors need to spend even longer just doing a gen.
But idk what could realistically rectify this, it's just inherent with how the gameplay has been set up. I enjoyed the aspect of texas chainsaw massacre that you could attempt to escape using different types of exits, but that probably only works in a 3v4 and not a 1v4 as that seems like a lot for one person to manage. Survivors just need something, anything, that is engaging. Perhaps the game should be more centered around survivor and killer interaction rather than do gen and get out.
Also perks contribute a lot to enjoyment of the game. They're meant to allow you to have more fun options in gameplay but survivors are stuck with perks that help with tunneling, or slugging, or camping if they realistically want to escape their matches as much as possible/not have a miserable time. Same with killer having to run gen perks to keep up with survivors doing gens too fast. We're all just running perks so that we can win rather than whats fun or interesting or that we enjoy because of how the game has been set up. These perks are just bandaids for the problems in the game that haven't been fixed.
do you know why people tunnel specifically ? its cause the gens are way too fast . if your not playing blight or nurse . you can basically guarantee 2 gens before 1 hook

explain to me how the game is killer sided when you can do 3 sprint bursts in a row . if the game was killer sided surely the devs would be asking our opinion right ? tell me .. where in the last survey did they ask killers about their opinions .. your a survivor so im gonna have to help you here .. they didnt.

You kidding? If you can't get a 4k with the three pallets on a map, that's on you..
if you cant win a chase with not one not two but 10 second chance perks .. thats on you. this game is easy mode for your kind . be quiet and suck off the devs some more . its all your kind is good for
