The Judgement literally destroys so many builds, items, offerings, and perks in this game. Builds have become extremely limited with the only builds I have found to be decent are the gen rush builds and healing builds, especially with skill checks being more frequent. I don't care how strong this killer is in a chase, what makes them awful is limiting playstyles.
Just to name a few perks that are virtually unusable:
Babysitter
Borrowed Time
Boil Over
Boon: Exponential
Breakdown
Breakout
Camaraderie
Come and Get Me
Decisive Strike
Deliverance
Fast Track
Flip Flop
Kindred
Off the Record
Power Struggle
Reassurance
Resurgence
Saboteur
Second Wind
Self Preservation
Shoulder the Burden
Slippery meat
Up the Ante
We'll Make it
Wicked
Soft Counters
Aftercare
Conviction
For the People
Last Stand
Soul Guard
Tenacity
Unbreakable
Flash Bang
Items:
Flashlights
Sabotage toolboxes
Fireworks/Winter Party Starter
Offerings
Petrified Oak
Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips
Black Salt Statuette
Ivory Salt Pouch
Cream Chalk Pouch
Salt Pouch
Chalk Pouch
Plan on using a Flashlight to get a save on a teammate or blind at a pallet? You get sin
Want blood points for unhooking? That's usually about 3.5k with safe unhooks. Against the Other Realm "unhook" state? Have about half of that.
Coming out of the realm and the killer sees you? Down, back to the realm. No d strike or trying to kobe on first hook
Also really enjoy bhvr giving killers free perks base or add-ons [Ghoul with Bamboozle, Judgement with Blood Warden, Knight with Blood Warden Knights, String Trap with mini Blood warden for the player, Legion with Dissolution, etc]
Damn, this is why this killer feels so refreshing and good to play. You should try it! Not having to deal with Decisive strike (being used aggressively), unbreakable, Deliverance and shoulder the burden every match is a blessing. These are the second chance perks that give survivors a massive advantage, that alone will make most killers struggle heavily with their time management and can delete any pressure in an instant. Finally hooking does not feel like a punishment and a waste of time, even though it is the killer's objective. This is exactly, what encourages killers to go for the next chase with another survivor, because camping is simply not possible and it values the killers time spent to succesfully down a survivor. I think, more killers should get a rewarding experience like this for downing/hooking survivors. Why not make agitation in a weakened form base kit for killers? I think that this is a very welcoming change to the game, which is combined with a quite strong killer. This can feel quite oppressive on the Surivor side, I guess. But anyways, Surivor role is boring and should not be catered to more than it already has been in the past.

Great argument, but I would expect exactly this from someone who makes up BS of grinding for a challenge they know which will not grant much reward. Seriously, you are only complaining for the sake of complaining. If there would be no Community Challenge, you would have played the same amount of games.
Well, it wouldn't be the first time Bhvr got screwed something up with the numbers (see La Fogata challenge which they already admitted they might added a zero or two). So I was certain that the 20k is just another error. Furthermore, there are people who like to complete challenges. And I am not talking about the challenge to complete the 20k posts just for the sake of it.

You cannot be serious that 20k BP were your main motivation for playing. You played because you got tons of BPs from the Cakes. And you probably enjoyed the event gamemode as well.
Nobody can seriously tell me that they actually grinded for a Community Challenge which granted 20k of BPs and was completely irrelevant if it was completed or not.
Okay, and nobody can tell me anyone is actually grinding 18k posts in this forum…

Because you wanted to play the event. Not because you wanted to do the Community Challenge. Or did you specifically play to contribute for the Community Challenge? If yes… congratz to 20k BPs I guess.
Of course I wanted to contribute to the Community Challenge. I also had quite some fun with the new event and the new killer. I haven' touched that game for one and a half years prio to Jason's release, because it felt stale to me. Same old game mode, same old perks, no exciting new characters. So I came back for some fresh air and BPs to level up my characters during the event. Therefore, I exclusively played the event over the past weeks and would have expected a little bit more than 20k bloodpoints.

"grinding" is a strong word considering that people were just playing. Nobody really grinded for that community challenge.
I have almost contributed 300 games to the challenge. At a certain point, it felt like a grind to me.
-
I enjoyed the event quite a lot, even as killer. Survivors had a second objective, so they didn't just slam gens like there is no tomorrow. But I would say the experience depends on the killer you play. I personally only played Jason and the Oni during the event. Jason can ignore many of the effects, like invincibilty and also unbreakable pallets did not bother him too much. Oftentimes, Survivors felt a bit too safe after eating their morsel, running into my face thinking they are unvincible just to eat a spear.
The Oni suffered way more with invincibility, invisibility, unbreakable pallets and insta-heals. So I did not play him too much during the event. Fart bottles helped with his weak early game. Still, the games I had where still most of the times 2-3Ks, with some sporadic 0Ks against organized teams, which I am fine with.
On the Survivor side, it was a lot of fun messing with the different banquet effects, insta healing the team, escaping a chase invisible through a portal and prolonging chases by eating the morse justl in the right second of chase (which I messed up more often than not). However, I felt for the weaker M1 killers I faced. Even though I only play Solo Q, especially Wraiths got demolished. But for other killers, I did not have the impression that they suffered too much.Only the fart bottles were annoying as hell on the Survivor side.
-
20k really is a joke, if you consider it took the community a whole 3 weeks of grinding. I hope that we get at least a decent amount for the black banquet coins.
-
Jason is the first Killer I am having fun to play with in years now. Stopped Playing DBD for a year and a half or so and came back to try him. Wasn't disappointed. The ability to spawn at windows/pallets is quite cool and fitting to his ability to randomly spawn in the movies. The Spear feels rewarding when it hits, but is not too easy to master. Maybe his Omnipresent Evil requires a time limit to prevent infinite use. Otherwise I don't think he is unfair or unbalanced.
He also offers decent counterplay on the Survivor side (kind of a mix between huntress and Spirit Counterplay) and I personally enjoy playing as and against him.
-
My trash PC oftentimes crashes right in the beginning of a match. So I have to restart it while actually still sitting in the game and then have to face a time out penalty upon logging in again. Feels kinda mid.
-
It has gotten worse in my opinion. Killers have been robbed of their last bastions…Camping is not possible anymore, Tunneling is almost impossible without loosing a ton of time. The last thing they left us with is slugging. But with Survivors being able to medkit heal each other within 5 seconds to full, it is also only semi-viable.
Pallet density was heavily increased. Survivors got basekit perks shoved up their asses. So as long as you are staying away from the low tier Killers or playing Survivor, you should be fine.
-
I swear, playing the Oni in early game is now even more painful than it used to be like 2 years ago, when I last played this game. Somewhat capable Survivors can just chain pallet loop after pallet on most maps, leaving me with 1 Gen before I get my first down.
-
After investing probably 1k hours in this killer, I tested him today and I must say, he feels like a completely new character. And I don't mean that in a good way. His movement feels way more clunky and the lunge distance of demon strike is way smaller than before, when performing a turn. Overall, I think I will put him beside now, even though he was my main killer for years. RIP Big boi.
-
I have only played against him so far. I think he is okay, but 2 things are annoying about him from my perspective:
- he can grab survivors through obstacles when infecting them, making it way too easy to get that first hit
- After using his dash or after vaulting a pallet with his power, his cooldown on the next M1 seems kinda low, making it almost impossible for a survivor to reach another safe spot
Otherwise I guess he is fine and seems like a fun to play killer. In that regard, he should not be nerfed too hard.
-
@MoZo said:
Idk bout that one chief. The whole counterplay to oni is A) Avoid giving him an injury and B) get around a corner or the other side of a wall during his demon dash. The 180 removed the second counterplay to oni and made him get hits at almost any tile. I’ve had oni’s literally run past me thinking I dodged them only for them to 180 flick turn around and get me when I wasn’t even on their screen. It’s an exploit that should’ve been patched years ago. At least now since the exploit is fixed they can give a compensation buff to maybe his speed or to his passive charge of his power.
What can be done to compensate when his power does not feel fun and powerful anymore? I loved playing the Oni because I knew that I could theoretically outplay almost every Survivor on almost any tile of the game. This is what made him an A Tier Killer. Not too strong, but very menacing when in his power. He already has his downsides because you have to a) injure Survivors to activate his power and b) use the time in his power wisely. Survivors learned to outplay him in the past couple of years pretty consistent (even with the 180 flick). There are already very few players who are playing the Oni and I am afraid that he will now just fall off into the "never being played" category.
-
Good thing about it is that I now really have no reason to come back to DBD at all.

@anxmari said:
So, Ihave something to say about this. I'll start with my story of getting to know ONI
I came to the game in the spring of 2017, and until 2020 I was the main Billy, as you know, in 2020 he was reworked. And I discovered a new character for me, it was ONI, I started playing him and studying his mechanics a lot.
Then one day I was banned (for no reason) and I left the game for more than half a year.
But what made me come back and forgive such an unfair act?
Right! It was the same character called "ONI"
I realized for myself that I was ready to play this game only because of him and he was the only thing that kept me here and made me endure the whole nightmare that was happening in the game all these years, every time another patch came out, simplifying the game on the survivors side, I said to myself: "the main thing is that this game has my favorite character...." I loved him so much that even when Billy was made strong again and even stronger than before, I was no longer interested in him.
From 2020 to this day, I call myself "Oni main" because I have played a huge number of hours on this character and the potential of this killer is fully revealed in my hands.
Now I will try to explain why removing 180° from ONI is a bad idea.
ONI is one of the most difficult characters in the game to learn, and appearance of "180° " made this killer more difficult. But this difficulty was justified, because if you spend enough amount of time on mastering it, this character becomes so strong in your hands.
BUT, this "180° " mechanic has never been unbalanced, of course, it gave its value, but it did not make the killer something extremely strong. In other words, this mechanic doesn't make killer too opprasive and unbalanced for rework, as it is too difficult for learning, so small amount of players can use it and that's why it doesn't affect on game balance. To this day, he cannot compete in strength with characters like blight, Nurse or Billy. I also see in advance that it will be impossible to defeat strong survivors using only "90° " And we can also compare ONI with such characters as The Good Guy or The Spirit.
The ONI player must accumulate his ability himself and use it wisely, accordingly it (ability) must initially be stronger than that of The Good Guy or The Spirit. After all, on these characters the player will use its ability most of the game and if he unsuccessfully uses it, he practically does not lose anything, because a small amount of time will pass before he can press m2 and use it again until he succeeds in doing what he wants. But this cannot be said about ONI, although his ability lasts longer, but player can also use it in a wrong way due to his inexperience or mistake, and if the use of ONI’S ability does not lead to the fact that at least one survivor has been downed, then the ONI player will most likely lose the match.
So if ONI worked like The Spirit, 90° would be enough for him, but he works completely differently, so 180° is an integral part of him, without which he will not be able to compete with the survivors above average level.
Good survivors already know how to play against "180° " and if you remove what they have learned to resist, defeating ONI will not cause them any problems.
As far as I understand, this was done to "equalize" players with a controller and a computer. But why remove this mechanic when you can give it to both sides.
I think it's wrong when developers first add it and then remove it with no reason, despite the fact that players have studied it for tens, hundreds and thousands of hours and it turns out as if they were wasting their time on it.
I decided for myself that if this update reaches the main servers, then I will leave this game once and for all and it is at this point that my long (almost 8 years) stay here will end.
And what do you think about this?Urgh, if they take this change on live servers, it will be terrible for the few Oni players remaining (me included). I can feel your pain. The 180 flick is what made him a terrifying Killer on many tiles and without it, he will just be a big clunkfest. He was in a good state for several years (not as good as on the PTB before his release though), why ruin him for the very few players that still hold on to this masterpiece of a killer?

A good Oni with his power up is incredibly difficult to counter as a survivor, not saying this is a bad thing but the dpi exploit is some BS.
Why is it a dpi exploit? I constantly play on 1650 dpi and can flick 180° quite consistently. I just have to throw my mouse around. But I think that he would drop at least one tier when they remove his ability to 180. Would be very easy to outplay on many loops. Just rund around a 180 corner.

Really? It doesn't make him OP? He's clunky as a plain M1, sure, because either you get an early injure or you lose because you have no power. But with a good start and the 180 flick, he becomes better than Blight. You think it's fair he can just break into any angle and get you? Even when experienced players know how to dead angle him? I argue the same against Blight. These killers get nerfed, because of PC exploits breaking their intended turn limit, the nerfs don't address this, and so the killers are broken on PC and near useless on console.
It does clearly not make him OP. There are already very few players willing to play Oni (as a Survivor, I almost never face him). This is due to the quite hard steering during his demon dash and his very weak early game, I guess. His power is not a no-brainer. If you would take the 180 flick, this killer will be even easier to outplay and will make him vanish into the abyss. His kill statistics are very balanced, he is somewherere at around 56% winning rate or something, which is round about what the devs intended. So even with the current 180 flick "exploit", he is not overperforming and clearly not as strong as a blight, who can use his power almost constantly, whilst Oni has a very limited timeframe for his power.
-
They should just make the 180 flick basekit again imo. It is useable anyways on PC and doesn't make him OP or something. Oni is already feeling very clunky to play and has a lot of downsides, like weak early game, fast depletion of blood fury and requiring vacuuming blood for his power. I loved him when he first was released on PTB. But when he was released on live like triple-nerfed, he did not feel the same anymore. There are still some bugs with his power, that have not been addressed in ages. He is clearly not BHVRs favorite killer.
-
Even though the game is more balanced than ever before, I don't feel like playing it for more than the tome challenges anymore (if even that). Gameplay is repetitive on both sides, killer is only playable during the daytime cause sweaty groups creep out at night and the latest patches and events were disappointing to say the least (except for my little Oni, that one is awesome). Player count is constantly decreasing for a reason.

Just because the kill rate is "LITERALLY RIGHT WHERE THE DEVS WANT IT TO BE", doesn't mean it isn't absolutely miserable to play. Also, the fact people talk about the "power role" says a lot. It's a party game, not a game people should come home from and "feel powerful". Furthermore, you say that playing killer is difficult. It has never been easier as killer. You can consistently get a 2k for doing nothing. Killer mains want 4k5gens every match but don't realise that's not balance. A 2k every match is a draw, which means the matchmaking is working as intended.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3654123#Comment_3654123
MFT shouldn't have been a thing...yet killers get consistent speed increases. All the while making maps smaller, although this can have issues with making pallet density higher, it is usually a buff. The mangled change is a double edged sword. Survivors may choose to wait it out, but then they are 1 shot.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3655142#Comment_3655142
You talk about the decline of killer population, and yet don't see the same thing happening to survivor. Is it any wonder why in most areas survivor is consistently at +100% bloodpoint bonus? How can this be that the game is in a much better state?
My take as a player since 2016:
What I would ask from the audience is "are you enjoying playing the game currently?". For me it is no longer enjoyable to play the game in solo queue as intended. I am purely completing tomes, and then just going on chases and annoying the killer. After 3k hours I'm sick of holding M1 on gens, and with all the current regression perks it is even more miserable. The hope of escape is gone, and knowing that I will get killed realistically 7/10 games, doesn't interest me anymore. I'd rather just make my own fun, and die on my own terms.
On the other hand, killer has never been easier. I can meme all game, eat all the pallets, and still camp/tunnel to a 2k (balanced) if I REALLY need to. It is actually beyond a joke that one side feels so horrible to play, while the other side is so simple.
6.1 was the vertex of survivor fun, and it has only been downhill from there. In the end, I just want a game that is challenging, and fun, but survivor DBD is missing the fun aspect. 🤔
Well it is in a much better state because it is way more balanced now than before. Killer gameplay was unbearable at that time due to the game simply limiting their actions. Survivor gameplay is not broken. In my opinion, it is just a skill and missing coordination issue in most of the cases. Especially in Solo Queue. But technically, all the options are still available to build strong survivor teams. Stats on SWF proove that.
I wonder why Killer is constantly on 100% Bloodpoints during the nighttime in my region.
-
Game is in a much better state than few years ago when Survivors had stupid strong stuff (insta bnp, insta heal, old DS, old DH, infinite loops, saboing all hooks on the map without respawning, being able to deny one killer from his power by perma saboing traps, instablinds etc.). Not to mention old vault "speed" of killers, old pick up and old pallet break animations for killers. It took years and a rapid decline in killer population to flatten things out. Game is in a much healthier state now that Survivors lost their god-like state. They are still pretty strong in a coordinated group or even as 4 decent solos. Solo can be frustrating at times, but it's not as bad as people portray it (39% or whatever the escape rate was is still fine). I think the overall problem with DBD is that the game just gets dull after some time. Which is normal, considering it is almost 8 years old. New chapters don't create any sort of hype for me since several years now. There is no real innovation in Killer powers anymore (okay, maybe Singularity) and the playstyle overall gets repetitive. This is why I stopped playing the game. Oh, and the new Killer looks like #########. Cheers Bhvr!

@ShinobuSK said:
Only thing apart of bug fix he needs is the removal of 180
Uff, this would be a massive nerf. There are a lot of Survivors out there knowing exactly how to outplay an Oni. Imagine you can not get a survivor with your power around fences, LT Walls or literally any sharp object whatsoever. You just would have to chase them by foot in this case which would make his playstyle way less fun and way more boring for Survivors trying to dodge . No, in my opinion 180 should be basekit like it was in the very beginning. This is the only thing that makes him an A Tier Killer. He has the weakest early game of all Killers. He has to hit two healthy Survivors to get his power. If you waste your Power once against a good team of Survivors, you are done. No, no, his Power has to be strong, I mean really strong.
-
Yes, I can also confirm this bug. It was already bugged during the PTB and also reported as such, but nothing happened and this mess made it's way on live servers... Please fix asap. I know you like to make killers feel unfun to play, but what you did to my boy can't be intended..

-
P100 Survivors are usually the weak link in the group, so I make sure to tunnel them out first.
Jokes aside, most P100 survivors don't play any better than the low prestiges. It just becomes problematic when I see a 3 -4 P100 lobby, because I have to assume that I am going against a full sweat squad, which is not fun in most cases. Therefore, I fully understand that killers are dodging specific lobbies.
Just imagine Survivors would know against which Killer they are going. Lobby dodging would be out of control :D.

@Coz said:
Hi,
im relatively new to the game and have recently started playing as The Killer (Trapper). I find things can get pretty confusing at times and am pretty sure I am accidentally tunnelling. I find it hard to keep tabs on who I’ve hit, downed and hooked. Other than experience and time are there any tips on offer as to how to avoid tunnelling?
I want to be a good/fun player and want the opposition to have an enjoyable time too.
You should not worry too much about your playstyle, if it's overall fair. As long as you are not hard tunneling anyone, it is totally fine to have the same person on a hook for two times in a row. It is not considered tunneling, if the person could heal in the meantime or do gens or whatever. If the Survivors blame you for tunneling, just ignore it and laugh it off. Some people just have weird perceptions of tunneling. Maybe they just had bad games or a bad day over all.
-
Oni: Higher as Nurse and Blight for sure, maybe even higher than Billy. It is not only mastering his power and flicking, but also the fact that your power is not constantly available. You have to manage it, knowing when to use it and where to better not waste it, knowing how to play the tiles and predict surivors movements.
I would put Huntress and Cenobite one Tier lower, as well as the Wraith. Otherwise I pretty much agree with your list.
-
As a Killer: Usually a 3K; a 1K when it's against a very strong comp SWF.
As a Survivor: Putting up some good chases, unhooking, doing gens and being overall a useful teammate. Since the Survivor role is so much easier and less stressful than the Killer side, I don't really care that much about escaping.
-
Survivors asking for 5 second DS stun? Then we will go back to the "I slug you until your DS runs out" meta. You need to understand why many killers feel the need to tunnel and rather design perks/mechanics that reward a killer for not tunneling. Not re-rework a ban-aid perk that was just unhealthy for the game in its past state.
-
I also don't see why so many Survivors are complaining about the state of the game. Nerfs for survivors were very necessary in the past years and an efficient group of survivors can still give killers a hard time. I exclusively play Soloq when playing Survivor and can confirm that the teammates get more and more efficient from game to game. Of course, there are bad teammates every now and then, but I mainly try to focus on my own mistakes and try to improve from game to game. Bringing perks like kindred and open handed turned out to be very helpful. I even felt like getting to Iri 1 only playing Soloq was easier than getting to Iri 1 with Killer. For the BP bonus: It seems equally shared between killer and survivor, maybe 60/40 in favor of Killer (Killer is the more challenging role, who enjoys sitting on gens for hours and hours anyways).
-
@ad19970 said:
There is a reason why BHVR intended for a 90 degree turn angle limit. It's important for survivors to have enough counterplay against killers as well. Fixing this bug that would ignore the 90 degree turn angle is more than welcome.
Survivors have pallets, windows and exhaustion perks as counterplay. If you are outzoned, you should go down quick.
-
This happened with some other killers as well. Chucky now gets the same treatment as Billy and Oni before. By reducing or disabling the flicks, they kill the fun in playing these killers a tad bit and make them feel clunky to play. Especially, if you know how good it felt before..still missing the old PTB Oni :(
-
Oni - make his demon dash charge faster and his pallet smashing in blood fury faster - it feels very clunky without add-ons. And give him an ultra rare to dash through pallets in demon dash, comparable to blights ultra rare. A hit with his basic attack should also grant more charges for his power. He is literally the only killer that needs to hit 2 healthy survivors to get his power, which can be easily outplayed.
-
Because it only works against SoloQ. A coordinated group of survivors will still slam the gens right in your face within 5 minutes.
-
Just delete her due to "bug fixes" - forever. Easy fix.
-
I don't think it's gonna die soon, since a lot of people seem to still enjoy the game. I only play the game to finish the tome and the rift, not for fun.

One side being immature does not excuse the other. Both sides need to grow up and handle things maturely. Whining is not it. Neither is suiciding on hook/DCing. Game balance does not excuse immaturity.
Increasing suicide on hook/DCing is going to get kill rates up, which is going to affect the statistics and is therefore a legitimate way to tell the devs that something is wrong with their game in the current state. SoloQ is bs right now, not gonna blame people for dc.

Lol gen slowdown perks heavily nerfed? Really? Combine pop with call of brine and overcharge, and generators regress at an outrageous speed. Only ruin got nerfed hard. But it's unnecessary with everything else killers have and can combine.
Bringing 3 Gen regression perks? Never would I do such a thing, unless I have a very bad day. I thought the patch was about trying out new perk builds and not to rely on the gen pressure builds (at least this is what I was hoping for). But I guess survivors will slam the gens even more now that the times have been increased (and I can't blame them).

That literally makes no sense lmao
Well, as it was said, Gen slowdown perks have been heavily nerfed and Survivors still have the possibility to bring perks and toolboxes to boost their repairing speed. This makes up for the additional 10 seconds. Only SoloQ survivors are affected by this.
-
I still get gen rushed as a killer, seems even worse than before..
-
It will stay as it is or even improve, cause the changes are good and healthy for the game.

Oni - Shelter Woods

Give Oni his 180 degree flick back. This 90° flick feels super clunky.
-
Solo Queue might not be the best, but it is not as bad as you depict it here. I don't think the Solo Q will be butchered with Basekit BT and Perks that speed up gen repairing. Not to mention the Nerf on Killer Gen regression perks. Overall I think the changes will be healthy for the game. Pretty Good Job so far Bhvr (no kappa)!

period your post served. i basically only play survivor and don't think either side is easy, but the constant hate survivors get from killer mains is laughable. like the constant DH complaints where it's a braindead perk that requires no skill.... like anyone can 'press E' for a DH but only a certain level of players can press E and use their DH to make their chase last longer and turn the game around & make use of the perk.
while 4 man swfs bringing prove thyself, coh, and sweaty items can be a nightmare to go against, all of these in a solo game will still make these games basically a 1v4 for survivors
more killers should def play a round of solo queue survivor and they will just see themselves how much of a nightmare they are to play
I arguably played more Killer than Survivor with more than 3K hours in the game now. But I played Survivor for a fair amount, I would guess in a 1:3 ratio (it becomes more and more survivor lately, because for obvious reasons). I have never played a single game in a SWF so far, all my games were in Solo queue. Of course, it can be frustrating, when you get steamrolled by the killer because of obvious mistakes done by yourself or your teammates. But this is still not comparabale to the frustration you feel, when you are playing Killer in higher MMR. I stopped playing my main Killer (Oni) a while ago, because I get matched against people, who know exactly how to outplay him (which is not too hard against the Oni) and deny me from my power while being in a chase and gens are popping left an right. This has created the feeling of complete loss of control over the game and being in the grace of survivors, which should never be the case if you are playing the so called "power role". A Killer, that I played well over 1K hours feels completely useless against a group of coordinated survivors (they don't even have to be on comms, just pressure the gens fast enough and I am in big trouble). Of course, I will make mistakes in my games (which is pretty normal), probably even more when I get stressed out. But the bad thing about playing Killer is, that every single mistake can cost you the game and gets punished very hard. Especially with the Oni: If you ######### up your Blood Fury once and get no downs, your game is most likely lost in a match where all 5 gens are done in 5-6 minutes. This led me to play other Killers, that I have a lower MMR with. I am not expecting the games going too good for me, not making myself any stress and don't overdo playing Killer (mostly only for the dailies and the tome challenges). I try to play fair, split the hooks evenly between the survivors and hope that everyone has a good match. And I have to admit that this has been the best decision I ever made in the game! I can enjoy the few matches of Killers that I do (I am currently playing DBD between 10-20 hours a week) and don't have to deal with high MMR stress any longer (still feeling sad for my Oni though).
In Survivor Solo queues, you usually got teammates being smacked down within the first 20 seconds of the game. But nevertheless, I can manage to escape in about 50% of my games. And for the other 50%, there is usually never (except for the very few games, we get steamrolled with 4-5 gens left) the feeling of being completely powerless against the Killer. You rather notice, which wrong decisions/mistakes you or your teammates might have done during the match, which lead to a specific unfavorable situation (teammates being chased running towards a hooked survivor, 3-genning yourselves, not focusing on gens, not knowing how to use pallets in the best ways etc..). It rarely happens, that I get facecamped or tunneled. And if so, I can still buy my team a lot of time, if the Killer decides to do so (that is why I love to equip Kindred, one of the best perks in Solo Q). Nevertheless, I still would say that Survivor is way easier than Killer (skill cap based and based on the stress level). Don't get me wrong, there are some Survivors out there with very high skill, knowing how to use loopspots most efficiently, using their camera the optimal way, knowing how to use their flashlight (yes, this is probably the hardest part about survivor gameplay :D) etc.. This is also the reason, why many people choose to main Survivor or former Killer mains switch to Survivor.
Still not hating on Survivor mains. They are just using the many tools that the game has given to them. They have the power role when it comes to "competitive gameplay levels", no arguing here.
If you made it until here, thank you for reading :).

Boons are only a problem for killers who allow it to be a problem. They shouldn't be nerfed bcuz people can't handle a new challenge.
Same could have been said for some sort of Killers, and still they got nerfed one week after release. Anyways, I like the Boon Totems very much on the Survivor Side. As a Killer, they can be annoying, but I don't think they are game breaking.
