Black Banquet community challenge.

So the community challenge has now been complete and we get 20k bp and 1 rift level? like what is the actual point of that. Anyone who is gonna finish the rift would have already and 20k bp is basicly nothing.
Expected more from a challenge that took the entire event to complete and should be a big achievement to obtain.

  • It is a bit lacklustre to say the least.

  • People complain a lot but nobody is leaving the game because of this stuff. That’s how they get away with it.

  • 20k really is a joke, if you consider it took the community a whole 3 weeks of grinding. I hope that we get at least a decent amount for the black banquet coins.

See this isn't something i would stop playing over but your 100% right. Even the really important things players don't stop playing the game. Unfortunately nothing will ever change as long as players keep playing games they arn't happy with because at the end of the day player count and sales is all they really care about and as long as they are high then why would they ever change it.

"grinding" is a strong word considering that people were just playing. Nobody really grinded for that community challenge.

  • Goes to show how much BHVR truely "cares" about us when the reward we get for playing the game as a whole community is one rift level and pocket change bloodpoints.

With this event specifically, I think grinding is the right word since it wasn't counting normal matches.

So what? Then dont play the event mode and dont "grind" for measly 20k BPs and a few Rift Fragments. Seriously, this Community Challenge was completely irrelevant. If anyone really "grinded" for it and played the event mode just for that… I dont really know what to say without getting banned.

I have almost contributed 300 games to the challenge. At a certain point, it felt like a grind to me.

Because you wanted to play the event. Not because you wanted to do the Community Challenge. Or did you specifically play to contribute for the Community Challenge? If yes… congratz to 20k BPs I guess.

Of course I wanted to contribute to the Community Challenge. I also had quite some fun with the new event and the new killer. I haven' touched that game for one and a half years prio to Jason's release, because it felt stale to me. Same old game mode, same old perks, no exciting new characters. So I came back for some fresh air and BPs to level up my characters during the event. Therefore, I exclusively played the event over the past weeks and would have expected a little bit more than 20k bloodpoints.

You cannot be serious that 20k BP were your main motivation for playing. You played because you got tons of BPs from the Cakes. And you probably enjoyed the event gamemode as well.

Nobody can seriously tell me that they actually grinded for a Community Challenge which granted 20k of BPs and was completely irrelevant if it was completed or not.

Okay, and nobody can tell me anyone is actually grinding 18k posts in this forum…

Great argument, but I would expect exactly this from someone who makes up BS of grinding for a challenge they know which will not grant much reward. Seriously, you are only complaining for the sake of complaining. If there would be no Community Challenge, you would have played the same amount of games.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time Bhvr got screwed something up with the numbers (see La Fogata challenge which they already admitted they might added a zero or two). So I was certain that the 20k is just another error. Furthermore, there are people who like to complete challenges. And I am not talking about the challenge to complete the 20k posts just for the sake of it.

  • I would have rather gotten something cool for participating, like varying colors of a halo depending on how many games you played. Like Ash, Bronze… —> Iridescent. You put in 25 games, you go up a level. Or a big ass blingy ring with a new emote to go with it. If anything, they should have released Fakeacy Trapper only and left Dwight for later.

I'm pretty disappointed with their imagination. C'mon BHVR. 20k isn't a slap in the face or anything, but it sure is hohum. Happy 10th Anniversary everyone.

  • I honestly thought they were going to do something with that as a last surprise. I mean, it was a hundred million matches right? Like, am I crazy here - doesn't that seem like a lot?

That's kind of been my vibe about most things in this anniversary though - constantly imagining something else is going to happen because that can't be it, right? That was the big deal?

I agree with LordGlint that it was a grind, especially for me. Was I grinding for this community goal? Certainly not. I was grinding for Tortes and I wanted to play killer and the queue times were better in the event queue so I played it. But the overall experience wasn't very fun and was very much a grind.

All the community goal did was let me know I played just over 200 matches during the event.

Your point is actually the point, I think. If there was no community challenge, people would have not acted differently. So then when BHVR institutes a Community Challenge, for the community to come together for a goal, it's somewhat expected the result will be more than a single 2k match result in BP. The problem isn't that the reward sucks, so much as what the reward sucking implies, which runs along the lines of: "If our community can align on a task and be excited together, that would be worth Y to us, as the devs!"

Y, in this case, was 20k. It's kind of an insult, and I don't mean that in the 'This is an outrage, Mongo is appalled!' kind of way. I mean it literally. This comes across as a direct insult.
