I would have rather gotten something cool for participating, like varying colors of a halo depending on how many games you played. Like Ash, Bronze… —> Iridescent. You put in 25 games, you go up a level. Or a big ass blingy ring with a new emote to go with it. If anything, they should have released Fakeacy Trapper only and left Dwight for later.
I'm pretty disappointed with their imagination. C'mon BHVR. 20k isn't a slap in the face or anything, but it sure is hohum. Happy 10th Anniversary everyone.

I imagine the killer being a GIGANTIC HAND coming out from the sky to pick up survivors and throw them in a lake.

McLean and Almo developed killers and streamed as them, but with different mentalities. It showed in their streams too. Both talked openly about their approaches and it was often stated that Almo wanted survivors to fear killers and had a more "anything it takes" mindset, which reflected in his gameplay— he tunneled and camped a lot. McLean was the total opposite. He often threw games just so survivors could enjoy themselves more. It was obvious that McLean really loved what he did because of the amount of time he talked about the dev process and all their hurdles in making things work, what he was happy about and what he wasn't, etc. Like, he was very happy about creating the Blight because he thought Blight's mechanic was fun. What he wasn't happy about was how he knew the Blight was broken but he wasn't able to fix him, as much as he tried, before leaving BHVR.

It's like 1.5.. maybe 2. But still an unnecessary change.

Might want to look into gaming addiction.
Gaming addiction can lead to some very bad habits. Normally I'd say just uninstall and walk away. Get involved in real-life hobbies. But if you can't do that, then you may need some guidance.

As long as they don't link the parts, sure. Otherwise, I'd go for more > realism. Frankly, I don't care if cosmetics bug out and a lot of times I'll wear it just because of that.

Depends how much of ego they have and how did you get their nerve but mostly they go after some popular streamers or content creators than randoms but still they can get into your lobby and subbtle cheat and you will never know they just did gen 20 seconds faster or speed hacked while no one saw them especialy if they will play with friends that dont cheat than its super rare to spot this as killers if they are cautiuos. Cheaters dont need to fly and instapick themselfs or other survivors to mess your games.
I have seen some suspicious swf once they claimed they werent swf but two had each other in friends and one guy used speed hack around corner, not huge chunk of distance but still was sus and all defended him.
I mean all the info cheater gets before game even starts is huge and with swf that wants to win its gg and then some small boost in game like few % gen speed or heal speed and killer can sweat his cheeks to even get kill, I know its rare but it can happen if cheater is smart he can be with his account very long time in game before he gets ban. Just look at Hens video about cheaters and you would be surprised what all they can know and influence.
You're free to have your opinion. I'm not much into conspiracy stuff. I know it happens, but not on a huge scale.
This much I know. If someone accuses me of cheating in the end game, I agree with them completely, and not in a sarcastic way either. I might even troll people and tell them that they're being put on "our list" for who knows what. ** It means nothing.
-I should add this: ** People say ######### just to say #########.

He doesnt need to care unless he is targeted by cheaters or he is on their list like the 7cmPwincess was, Hens has video about that, then you cant play because you get your games destroyed by cheaters.
So, you think someone would use how many burner accounts to target each of those people on the list, most likely not popular, just to screw over their games.
-
Why would you care?
Like, what are they going to do besides look at your profile after the game and say yep, he's on the list.
I mean, maybe they'll tunnel you if you play survivor, but….

I hate the "high MMR" argument as well, because no one knows their own MMR, let alone anyone else's. So why even bother bringing the topic of MMR into any discussion?
The reason why is because it's the only measurement BHVR has talked about that makes sense.. in theory.
It means something, but just barely. Like, it separates ultra noobs from vets. It doesn't separate ultra sweats from experienced, because if that were the case, I would have been going against them during my streaks.
Still, that's all we have, and until BHVR has a better way of statistically displaying true skill, you will always have people that bring MMR up.

Her ghost shirt is on point.

If they could create bots that were smarter and act as humans, I think they could do it and have it be a cool addition that wouldn't affect normal queues. Though I think they asked if people would like to play with and against bots at one point and people said no. Shame.

Depends on the situation. Maybe.

I'll say it: GIVE ME MORE ABANDON OPPORTUNITIES!
Whatever you got, BHVR, I"ll take it. Get me out and to the next game faster. I don't care about an L, but if a game is over, it's over. I might go back to solo queue if you do. :D
Thank you and you're welcome.

@tjt85 said:
What evidence do you have that BHVR have put a limit on the BP multiplier? The most obvious conclusion is that they haven't and there are just more Survivors queuing than usual, so less need for a bonus. But I don't really understand how the bonus is applied, so maybe you know something I don't.
On the other hand, it does seem to me that removing Legion has barely moved the needle on Killer queue times. They look to be the same as they've always been. If Legion's inclusion had made the mode as unpopular with Survivors as reddit/twitter/the forums all claimed, surely we'd see a bigger positive impact on the Killer queue times as more Survivor would now be willing to play it?
I don't remember them specifically saying they were going to cap the multiplier at a certain number but they did say they were trying to find a middle ground for bloodpoint incentives because, presumably, they didn't want it to be too high. I wouldn't be surprised if they were still testing it out. x4 one time, x5 another, x3 this time.
Where's the community manager to clear this up?
-
Of course it is, but I don't care.
It's not like this is a high comp game where it might matter… and even when there are tourneys, they all use reshade anyways.
-
Depending on the queries they make of their database, they can deduce why people abandon and dc. The information is pertinent to their balancing and surely they don't just ignore the info.
This is the type of stuff I wish they would talk about on their dev streams, instead of just the superficial stuff.
On a funny note, this thing with the tracker has been known for a while now. On discord, there were a handful of guys that would brag about their 90+% escape streaks and have pics to back it up. Amazing.
-
Not surprised with #1. It is near Halloween after all, and Myers right now is very easy to play and get good results in the majority of games. Not too much a problem for a good team that always has eyes on him and is prepared, but otherwise…
-Gasp-… Dare I say it?
Same goes for ghoul.
The rabbit is someone we get a lot. The other night we played 4 games and got him those 4 games. That ruined the whole mood and we ended the night early. He's not even tough and we have a decent escape streak going, so proof again that MMR doesn't work well since we're not even playing the event.
-
The times I player killer, 4 out of 5 times the matches are so lopsided in my favor that I want to get out as fast as I can just to get to the next quest or milestone or whatever. Not only that, some things I do want to change — and what better way to do that than to exploit mechanics or gameplay that the devs think are ok. They're definitely not going to change anything if the numbers show that everything is fine, and we already have the idea that their data is borked up enough… so, go ahead and crush those survivor souls. You have BHVR's blessings.
-
I hope the stats the devs have available to them is not linked to the same stats used on their tracker… because the online tracker is broken. This has been known since they released it.
But if they are… 🙂
-
I did notice these changes. I can tell right now that for veteran survivors, this is pretty big. I think they put this in for the newer and for solo queue experience. It sucks because I think with all the other changes before, like shrinking the maps and removing a lot of safe tiles to replace them with ######### tiles, it really screwed up the game loop.
So, I do think something needed to be done, but I'm not sure if this is the right way either.. then again I only swf these days so maybe this will have a good impact on soloers because I hear that aspect of DBD is not in a good state right now. Time will tell.

Either everyone should have access to chat, or no one. It's not fair that pc players get this feature only when console players pay the same price for the game.
I wouldn't care if they removed chat because of toxicity but I have a problem with removing it because it's not fair for all platforms. If that was the reason, I'd like them to separate PC from console development so the devs can optimize each platform to their limits. I'd like to see how far they can push DBD on PC… but I digress. It's beyond separating at this point.

Just wanted to add this.
I think the Hook Stages milestone needs tweaking because it doesn't match up with the Kill milestone. It's not even close.
I'm curious what the number is for step 10. Hmmm.

I think the player base is fine honestly, also that doesn’t mean you can exclusively play on one server. When Ohio is enabled, I find myself bouncing between the two servers. That being said, I think CSGO has a great option where players can set a maximum ping limit. Of course this would mean longer queue times for people with harsher options, but it would also prevent people from getting killers/survivors, who have ping above a certain point. That or behavior lets you select the servers you want to play on, similar to games like Apex Legends or Valorant.
I would say the player base would be fine for additional servers IF there is no MMR restriction. I only play SWF these days. We go against some good competition, but going into the off-hours, we get the greenest 150 ping killers from Japan or the midwest so we have to restrict our loadouts just to be fair. Still, a lot of them eventually just go AFK or they open up the exit gate and swing for us to leave. It's like this every night. Prime time is not usually a problem, which leads me to believe that BHVR eases up on matchmaking restrictions to allow for fast queue times.. because we get games pretty quick regardless of hour. I just don't think it would be fair, nor fun if we get a nearby server but go against new players. I would be willing to wait, but I don't know how long would be a good balance, because my team usually only plays for a couple hours, then we move on to something else.
If I still played solo or duo, I would probably agree with you. I miss low ping and being able to time pallet hits against a Billy or greed for some extra time because I know I'll make a vault. It's not worth the chance to do that if you're 60+ these days.
-
I really don't think they have the player base to fully utilize the servers because of MMR AND BHVR's push for fast queue times.
I miss the days of peer to peer 30 ping connections though. I'd be happy enough if I can choose my server location and lock into it as well as check opponent ping. I'd be willing to wait for that. Although I'm guessing there are people way out in the boonies that would hardly get to play at all because nobody wants to play against high ping.. That wouldn't be my problem, but currently it is. :D

So you are telling me that these people who go down to M1 Killers in 10 seconds from full life to dying state are the middle ground of the survivor Playerbase?
I mean how can it be that 80% of survivors in 2v8 can´t shift W or predrop a pallet to longer the chase?
I don't know about 80%, but a big portion, yup.

The latest rift came out the same day and my milestone for completed games says I'm at 420. I have seen the map 3 times.
-
I guess I'm used to all the bad crap in the game. I take a break when there's nothing to do in the game and come back for new content or to finish a grind. I don't mind the pace of releases, bugs and all. I definitely do not want them to delay a release to March. I don't even know when the next scheduled release is, but I'm already done with Walking Dead. Now if they delayed a release to push out a crazy amount of content.. like new map, new killer and survivor, new mechanics, a new quest system.. maybe even a crafting system to create items/addons with drops in the game. Ok, delay it. But I don't want them to do it just for bugs.

Before Curtain Call was announced the common response from the devs for not having a Clown killer in game was that people with an intense fear of them wouldn't be able to play (the actual reason was Star breeze wouldn't let BHVR), but then they added Clown and literally gave him a perk called Coulrophobia.
Weirdest thing to me is, doesn't the Entity totally kinda already touch on Arachnophobia? I mean, it's a bunch of disembodied appendages that look extremely spider like. They touch on it in the tweet, but like that doesn't really change anything?
Honestly just kinda feels like BHVR just wants a reason to not add a spider killer and maybe snag a few brownie points while announcing it, but idk I feel kinda pompous making a statement like that in confidence.
I had a friend that quit because of Curtain Call. She came back later but DCd whenever we'd get a clown, that is until they introduced the DC penalty and there she went for good. I would think those spider legs on the hook would be the same thing as a spider, but what do I know. Phobias are weird.
You're right about the brownies. Companies virtue signal all the time, and BHVR isn't any different.

You used to be able to see it in the bottom right corner in the lobby, I'm not sure when they added and removed (for some reason) but they did. There's 0 reason for them to remove it, but it doesn't make them money, so they don't care! :D
If I had to guess, they removed it because people would just dodge the lobby if they noticed a high ping. I did it all the time because it's dumb to play in a high ping lobby. Now, there's no choice, which is a shame. If BHVR doesn't want to put the ping indicator back in, at least give us the option to wait longer for a more fair match.

QOL- Please redo how fast we spend bloodpoints. I think this is something everyone would agree on that wouldn't break balancing whatsoever. Give me a slider on how much I should spend or to what level I want to cap my spending.
At the very least, I don't even care about the bloodweb animation- just remove it so that each center node click takes a fraction of a second.
Thank you. Now, back to your regular scheduled programming…

What exactly does this mean? Is there an option to auto buy the higher tier items? It would be nice if they put in a filter system to prioritize what you want, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just put in a slider for how much you want to spend or to set a prestige limit and then just get stuff randomly. Something that simple has been wanted for years, but maybe they'll add more because they're allotted more time.
-
The only reason why I'd say it's not necessary is because at 400%, BP comes so quick, it's too much of a pain in the ass to stop and spend them.
-
If they make the bots smarter, I don't think it will be bad. Maybe adjust the AI based on the skill level of the killer. I consider 2v8 a BS farm mode and don't take it seriously at all, anyways. I mostly play it to hang out with DBD buddies that don't feel like playing standard DBD anymore.
I do think they can make the bot matches a little bit more interesting though, like having them be commandable by a team captain or maybe let them be extra effective in support roles.

And how often do you get a flashlight first chest and how many saves do you actually get vs chests searched?
Then how many gens could you have completed in the time you wasted?
I guarantee that you are sabotaging your team more than helping
It doesn't matter. There are times I want to win in DBD, but not in random 2v8 matches. You've seen the streams and videos of friends playing DBD and laughing because they got dunked on for some stupid #########? That's me and my friends. I don't take this mode seriously at all.
-
I absolootly lute chests because I want that flashlight. Flashlight saves are the funnest survivorly thing to do in this mode besides rebuilding pallets. That or scamming people out of the loot pickup.
-
If they did do an unranked mode, they can keep the existing system in as the ranked mode. Add some type of leaderboard for that and bring whatever you want. Unranked lobbies can be another mode altogether where everything is random, including killers. No map offerings and maybe even some type of end game kill guarantee so that someone is dying no matter what. Or maybe you can pick certain perks but nothing meta. You can opt for items and addons but everyone has to agree and it's all random.
Make it a casual mode to ######### around in. Nothing serious. Something like chaos shuffle— which is ok, but it doesn't go far enough imo. There's so much opportunity to at least give it (or something) a try.
-
2v8 Killer was the most fun I've had playing that role in years. I didn't mind sitting in queue for 5+ minutes. I'm glad it's coming back.
-
I would be for them linking a forum account to a game account. If you get banned, welp, that's it.. at least for that account. Give people some accountability.
At the same time, they could use that in-game data to let us choose which stats to display about ourselves— not an exhaustive, all-inclusive listing, but maybe some cool stats per rank reset. Rift tier level.. Not just a Killer/Survivor ranking, but a ranking that shows how fast I got to rank 1. Achievements. Prestige counter. Lotta ######### they could do.
Edit- A DC counter would be a little fun too. :)
-
It's usually up to the loser to say GG first. That's a sign of a good sport, especially if they're telling you that you played a good game. Innocent mistake you made, but in a day when saying GG can be considered a taunt, it's best just to leave it, because if they wanted to talk, they'd just go AFK and say something post-game. If they left upset, they probably don't want to talk about it either, at least not right away. But hey, you learn from it. Not everyone reacts the same as you.
-
All the DBD friends I have, I made before crossplay and with the older matchmaking, so you always ran across the same survivors 3 or 4 days after rank reset. Being PC, you would talk alot to those same survivors, and even killers… at least before the community started weirding out and taking the game super seriously.

@Ayodam said:
Lobbies should be blind for both parties.
Yeah, I can agree with this. Nobody would dodge and it would be a crapshoot for everyone.
If you really wanted the game to be a true PVP, then I think you should remove as much randomness as possible. A little is fine, but DBD has way too much to be anything but a casual game. Though I just don't think it's possible. Like, a good SWF will destroy practically any killer if they know who they are. It wouldn't be fair at all, at the high end at least, and maybe even in the mid tier.
Now, I think it would be kinda fun to be able to switch your loadout after you took a hookstage or hooked a few survivors. That might make things a little spicy.

I usually play the game in total silence with a very good headset accurate enough to let me hear a survivor breathing.
But today I was only doing the rift for the event so I wasn't playing seriously. I was on Discord speaking with friends while playing as killer. After all, getting only five pallets or a few hooks is easier than winning a game.
For my last few matches of the night, I took Huntress just to aimlessly throw a few hatchets. I didn't even plan to get the golden medals for the rift. The discussion was still going on and I had muted the game. The map was RPD.
On Discord I was explaining some technical issue and how I solved it and wasn't paying attention to the game at all.
After a couple of minutes (maybe a bit more) I landed back on Earth and I realized I had already killed two survivors with 3 gens left.
I have no idea how I did it.
Later in the chat one survivor commented on my good mind games and looping.
Mind? My mind wasn't there at all.
The only thing that I can imagine is that maybe my subconscious mind was playing for me while I was otherwise occupied.
Has it ever happened to you?
Yes. Almost every time I was working and couldn't use headphones. Try playing without headphones at all. You'd be surprised at how long a streak you can get.
