  • You force us to walk on egg shells.

Then use our own lethargy as a weapon against us.

User engagement is declining because of you.

  • THE RED LEGACY COSMETICS ARE LOG IN REWARDS???

That's literally the worst thing they could be???

Instead of having them as prestige rewards like everyone said they should be, they're FOMO garbage.

& don't try to feed me that slop that "everybody's prestige rewards need to be equal" because some characters have noticeably better prestige rewards than others, making them distinctly unequal.

  • Why does the title say "Black Banquet Update" when the Black Banquet isn't being changed?

The cakes costing slightly less is, uhh, something, but that's not going to do anything to restore the faith you've lost.

Also, DO NOT mention future iterations of events when the team is publicly refusing to manage the one that's currently running.

All you're doing is adding fuel to the fire.

Would this be map wide, when in chase, or a certain radius from the person using haste?
I worry perks like fixated would be ruined for stealth because if its a radius they will just get called out by a perk pop u because of haste when walking.

Would this also include showing killer haste to survivors?
Perks like devour hope, no ed, PWYF

    Only in chase.

Yes, survivors can see killer's Haste perks as well.

But now that you mention Fixated & Devour Hope I realize seeing the individual perk icon may not be a good idea.

Having the generic Haste icon in the bottom right of the screen would probably be better.

  • I'm struggling to tell if this post is satire or not.

I swear I've seen someone make an identical post to this but about Survivors having Sprint Burst, Finesse, too many resources, & aggro Endurance + DS about a month ago.

Even the formatting seems similar, this genuinely might be a copy pasted inversion of another post.

Also, I agree, specifically with Jason's infinite duration of Omnipresent Evil.

  • I miss old Freddy.

Manually pulling people into the dream world was so satisfying, & no killer power has replicated the feeling.

  • I feel like I made Cigar Box too mediocre so I've returned to rewrite it's effect.

    • Cigar Box - While Invigorated see the auras of survivors within 24 meters of your location. Movement speed is set to 4.4m/s. Invigoration no longer grants Haste.

I'm on Linux, so maybe my experience isn't valid, but yesterday I was playing and noticed that every single time I was downed, my PC's fans would just max out to the point I could feel the vibrations on my desk. When I was hooked or picked up by a teammate, it would go back to normal.

There DEFINITELY seems to be some strange bugs causing unnecessary resource usage. The game generally runs fine at 120fps for me on a 3080 at 1440p, but I still get stutters here and there (could be shader compilation), and that issue I just mentioned seems new. It didn't happen before the update.

I had the same thing happen to me one time, I just assumed it was my PC.

I got knocked down by a Houndmaster & my fans went vvvvvrrrRRRRRRRRRMMMMMM

That was during the Walking Dead paragraph, & I haven't had it happen since.

Scared my jammies off me. πŸ˜¨πŸ’»

  • I just played a match on Thomson House & the game ran smooth as butter, so if we could get a separate queue for 24/7 Thomson House that'd be great πŸ‘

  • Man, doing these pre-anniversary/ Rift challenges has been rough.

What is causing DBD to run so poorly, are things behind the player not being culled out properly? Is it a memory leak problem?

It can't just be UE5=bad, right?

What hasn't been optimized, & why hasn't it been fixed already?

I understand the code must be very difficult to manage, but the game has been performing terribly for more than a year now, how has this not even been addressed let alone dealt with?

it's 5 people walking around in a box floating in the void & somehow it's the most technically demanding game I have on Steam.

In BHVR's defense, this is probably because of Scott Cawthon having a specific vision for Springtrap.

I don't know where the idea came from that Scott Cawthon chose the axe and BHVR had no choice but to follow his vision.

It was mentioned Springtrap's finalized power was competing in development with one based more around FNaF lore, and the Axe tested better. BHVR was the one who would have reviewed the playtesting data and evaluated which power is more suited to DBD from a user experience standpoint, since they make the game.

All Cawthon would be doing is evaluating whether Springtrap's power is a good fit for Afton's character and the FNaF Ip, and approving BHVR move forward with the power concept they pitched. If he decided the axe was ill fitting, BHVR would have found a way to make whatever the other power was work.

Obviously Scott Cawthon personally approved every major decision that went into the FNAF Chapter we got and handled the writing, but BHVR didn't just sit back and let him design Springtrap for them. They would have been the ones to create and pitch the power, leaning on Scott's knowledge of FNAF for aspects like the visual and animation design of Afton and the Pizzeria, and making sure they got his stamp of approval on all creative decisions.

A part of me is curious if they informed him that he accidentally created a carbon copy of a character they already had planned.

I don't mean to come for you here, but this doesn't make sense. Each chapter starts development a year in advance, and FNAF was a year before F13. Scott would have approved Springtrap's final concept months before Jason would have entered early development.

Well put, I assumed Cawthon was in charge of Springtrap's overall design simply because that's what I heard when the chapter was released, I didn't bother investigating further.

What I said regarding Jason's power is also another assumption. You are correct about chapter development, I assumed BHVR & Jason Universe already had a general idea of what they wanted to do with Jason during the time Jason Universe spent collaborating with other properties, it's unlikely that Jason Universe wouldn't reach out to BHVR during that time, it's even more unlikely for BHVR to turn them away.

In hindsight I should've put more thought into my original post & recognized my missteps, my apologies.

  • Indirect Nurse buff 🀒

In all seriousness, is it actually 3 seconds, because I fast vaulted into & out of a locker earlier today & it definitely didn't take 3 seconds to do it.

  • In BHVR's defense, this is probably because of Scott Cawthon having a specific vision for Springtrap.

A part of me is curious if they informed him that he accidentally created a carbon copy of a character they already had planned. πŸ€”

Either way, hopefully this opens the door for more Springtrap changes, because goodness gracious he needs some.

  • What are you talking about? Didn't you see the 0.5 second detonation delay buff Doctor got!?

& the 1% increased battery life on Springtrap's doors!?

  • I'd honestly be thrilled if the game just ran at a stable frame rate at this point.

Despite being a last gen game DBD feels more resource intensive than the Dementium 2 remaster & that game cannibalized your PC if it wasn't top of the line.

there is no plan to introduce cosmetic rewards for P100, it's a choice players make - our stance on that has always been clear.

Can you tell them to uncap the prestige level?

100 ain't good enough, I want to keep going. πŸ”₯πŸ“ˆπŸ”₯

  • Sly Cooper could work, if Sony ever remembers he exists.

  • "I've got good news guys! We only need to repair 1 generator!"

"But, uh, we, uhhh... We gotta build it ourselves".

  • I've seen what people take the time to type, I don't want to know what they'll say off the cuff.

  • You should clarify that you want individual, unlinked, power cosmetics.

We don't want another Houndmaster situation where BHVR makes one(1) over priced linked outfit & then pretends nobody is interested in Snug cosmetics.

  • I couldn't help but notice you said "I can" instead of "I will".

    πŸ“‹πŸ§

  • There's absolutely no way the event offerings are personal AGAIN.

We keep telling you to knock that off AND YOU KEEP DOING IT

Outlast Trials doesn't disrespect it's community like this, why can't you be like them!? How hard could it possibly be to make an event offering that stacks!?

  • The Bloodsense map doesn't reveal the auras of injured survivors anymore?

Why was an event item arbitrarily nerfed?

How did the balance team even find the time for that, they have way bigger fish to fry.

  • @Emeal said:

Would people not then just hit an axe and run after them spamming M2 until the nano second they could grab them???

" more agency… " seems to mean more secure grabs, because we have plenty of agency.

I think the reason we don't do this is that it would make it too easy to get grabs and lower the skill floor further.

You're right dude, Springtrap being able to grab survivors slightly faster & consistently than before would make him waaaaay stronger than Blight!!!

We should make sure this """"quality of life"""" suggestion never gets implemented, y'know, because of the agency.

    πŸ™„

  • It's a good idea, just not right now.

There are too many killers that struggle on their own realm.

Also, some killers like Twins, Dracula, & Blight wouldn't interact with the system at all, making it's implementation a waste of time & resources.

Also, also, Hillbilly & Artist mains would cause an uproar because their chances of getting flashbanged are slightly higher than before.

  • They should make it so whenever you hit a good, or great repair skill check, one generator with the most progress pauses it's regression for 5, or 10 seconds.

That way, not only can you see how progressed a regressing generator is, you can aid in it's repairs even if the killer is keeping an eye on it.

  • It took BHVR, like what? 4 years to change the number 1 to the number 2, & you want them to use Ai to revolutionize online gaming?

I understand wanting a high framerate & you're not in the wrong asking for it, but c'mon man, be realistic.

We can't even see each other's perks yet.

  • Sorry bud, they don't accept bug reports here anymore.

You gotta go to a completely different site, Betahub I think, & then show them a video of your problem.

Trickster is about the easiest killer to aim with you aren't spamming so its easy to assume thats part of the bigger issue. Otherwise Huntress and Deathslinger would be just as difficult.

Also most post as if this update very clearly point to people not knowing how to play Trickster. Plus you're ignoring the newer players who just picked up Trickster and maybe the game in general. Kind of selfish to think otherwise.

Absolutely ridiculous comparing Trickster to Huntress & Deathslinger, & unambiguously false saying his power is easier to aim.

Trickster isn't a very popular killer, so I suppose you're right about people still finding their footing.

However, that doesn't change the fact that Trickster is unreasonably difficult to play with a controller regardless of how old or new the player is.

  • @dbd900bach said:

Don't spam and be patient. You're already putting yourself at an unnecessary disadvantage trying to spam a weaving survivor. Even on MnK its inefficient. I play on console and can aim pretty well.

Ideally, you're pacing your knives and going for 1 hit at a time. You get a better feel for where to aim and aren't wasting all your knives in one go. Plus, simply holding your knives will zone out survivors trying to dodge so you can get close enough to land better hits or M1. When you can spam is when survivors are caught vaulting or throwing pallets. You can hit roughly 2 to 3 knives on a low combo and all 6 at A or S since they're stuck in that animation. Not quite on windows, but definitely if they're throwing a pallet. They're not moving. At long range its still the same principle, unless they're stationary at a gen or unhooking.

Additionally, you'll rank up faster by pacing your shots since you aren't missing so much. Plus, even if you aren't going to deal damage at range, you still get valuable progress with your ranks since you get a bonus for hitting at a distance.

Rather than trying to emulate Mnk Triscker mains who have an easier time aiming and play all day, go at your own pace and take the shots you know can get, rather than hoping to land a shot by blindly firing in the general direction of the survivors.

I don't recall anyone in this thread lamenting about how hard it is to spam?

Also the tutorial is uncalled for, I'm confident we all understand how Trickster works.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't think they should make any concessions to the design/balance of the power for controller players. We simply need the settings.

Yes that would be ideal, unfortunately they don't seem too keen on giving console players even the most basic client side options.

Increasing the knife hitbox sounds like the most realistic bandaid BHVR would use, so I just went with that.

    I assume so.

I assume that's also why I haven't seen anyone play Trickster yet.

It's just Henry, Ghoul, Blight on the event queue.

Nemesis, Ghoul, Henry, & Huntress on the normal queue.

  • If you want Ghoul to get a specific skin you gotta tell the license holders.

If you run to a strong tile, like main building, shack, or a chain of maze tiles, & The Clown throws an Antidote at you before breaking line of sight, he didn't miss play, he's trying to get you to hold W to a different tile.

Trading any of these realms is insane, Nostromo especially. Since if you get to end game, you're just guaranteed a free out because of how spaced the gates are, but also the map is just big and often is bloated with decent edge map windows that can be chained into structure loops or fillers

I don't care about Nostromo's structure or size.

    It looks like garbage.

    It's literally filled with garbage.

Honestly, there's so much debris & clutter it might as well be a land fill.

It makes Fallen Refuge look like… good? No, nevermind.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who's astonished by how measly the Prestige reward(s) is.

With how often they pump out charms, badges, banners, & recolors for the Rifts, I'm dumbfounded they decided to just... not do that for the Prestige system.

They even went & made the Prestige menu look similar to the Rift for some reason.

I find it hard to believe they couldn't find a good reason to make it like-

    • Original character - Charm, Badge, Banner, Recolor of default outfit
    • Licensed character - Shards, Badge, Banner, shards

Like, at this point, just uncapping the Prestige limit would be a better reward.

Being able to get to prestige 101 & beyond is way cooler than 4 copies of one badge.

    Just do that.

  • Here's hoping they do something about it when they add those Post Processing options they were talking about a couple months ago. πŸ™

  • I play on PS4 & I haven't noticed any performance issues on Ormond Lake Mine. πŸ€”

  • I'll trade you.

I keep getting Autohaven, Coldwind, & Nostromo.

  • BHVR!

Give me Evil Bong as a weapon for Hillbilly & my auric cells are yours! πŸ“£πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

  • Prestige 11? Now that takes guts.

I don't think I'd be able to stomach playing Krause as much as you do.

    • Limited time battle pass βœ…
    • Limited time modifiers & events βœ…
    • Limited time seasonal cosmetics βœ…
    • Seasonal cosmetics locked behind an auric cells purchase βœ…
    • Limited time cosmetics locked behind Twitch drops βœ…
    • Limited time cosmetics locked behind an Email βœ…

But we don't want people to feel pressured to earn prestige rewards. Yeah, I'm convinced.

Y'know, if they weren't done, or if you didn't want to do it, you could've just said so.

  • It's the same badge 4 times.

The letter S is doing a lot of heavy lifting at the end of "rewards".

I'll take it though, it's more than I was expecting.

Huge missed opportunity not adding deep rift recolors of original character's default outfits.
