Knight is still in a good spot even after adding back counterplay.
- Survivors waste more pallets
- You break pallets remotely
- Guards waste tons of time (Especially with Ruin)
- Decent chase potential
- Great map pressure
Also in case any Knight players didn't know this a little bonus tip being that as long as you aren't within 8 meters of your guard their 3x chase multiplier won't go up, so you can bodyblock doors and windows to force either you or your guard to get a free hit. Also remember to cancel your power if you don't hear any survivors.
you cannot bodyblock the survivor that is being hunted

Aka give up when its a 1v1. Got it.
well, i guess, if you arent confident enough to hold off M1 no power(no bloodlust?) killer for a certain time? Which most of the time, in my experience, means you were just hiding to wait till your teammates died
-
My idea with the hatch change for the long time was that it spawns the same way as it is right now, but works differently:
If killer finds the hatch first and closes it - survivor instantly sacrificed (killed by the entity, like endgame collapse)
If survivor finds the hatch first and jumps into it - he teleported into different location and 2 minute (subjective for balancing) timer starts. Now the killer can't close the hatch, he has to find and enter it, and down survivor before timer runs out (timer starts the moment survivor enters the hatch, not the moment the killer does it)
Inside the hatch, all perks, items and powers are disabled, killer speed is set to 4.6 (maybe also no bloodlust?), and there are some basic tiles (not randomized? More like halloween location (not in terms of strenght of the tiles), where it is always the same. not sure about that)
If survivor manages to last 2 minutes inside - they escape. If downed - killed by the entity.
What do you think about this? It doesnt fix the 2v1 problem, but at least it makes the last one escaping feel more deserved, instead of the simple "i'm feeling lucky"
upd. Maybe also add killer instinct for a few seconds when killer enters the hatch, so the survivor has to outlast killer in chase, not just hide till the timer runs out -

Every time I see these nerf-survivor posts complaining about something as minor as this I have to assume it's a player issue. All the things survivors were promised last year were ripped away, plus medkits nerfed on top (and I'm sure toolboxes are next), and people want something as minor as the 5s extra BT taken away too. It's the wanting survivors to spawn on the hook joke that never goes away.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4063278#Comment_4063278
As others already said, I think it has a lot to do with your momentum. I had a match yesterday that was 20 grueling minutes. Three injured survivors on death hook trying to repair a last gen I could no longer regress, but could still use for Nowhere to Hide, and I had Nurse's Calling, so they couldn't safely heal. Gen gets done and I get one of them. Dead. I use an aura add-on to find one on edge map. Dead. I closed hatch at shack with the last one nearby. They ended up escaping solely because they'd found a key and I'm so unaccustomed to the rare clanking sound of hatch being opened it took me a second to register it and I didn't react fast enough. Good for them though. But they all worked hard to get that gen done and I still won.
But even in matches where I threw and got one hook I've still won. The big difference is killers can play awful and still win, while survivors have no such luxury. There's no way for a bad survivor team to just suddenly win after they were losing. And that's what I don't understand with this community. Some people want to perform poorly with the stronger role and still get freebies.
Three injured survivors on death hook trying to repair a last gen I could no longer regress, but could still use for Nowhere to Hide…how would you use NtH on a blocked gen? 🤨

The "I HAVE to win" mentalityShouldn't the point of a game be to have fun? To have a break from stress and relax? And what if to me the most fun i get in a game is if i win a hard, stressful match?
-
4 matches - 2 cheaters
First cheater match - subtle speedhacking Nea, that, after getting caught twice in endgame (3 survivors left), just pressed "I escape" right after getting caged
Second match - No idea who, but someone just decided to open a gate at 7 gens. My teammate said it was Nea (Again, lol) ((That wasn't the same Nea)), that also turned invisible in the middle of chase -

1. Where did I defend VPN?
2. PvP games are all rules-based, not random, and where did the developers even personally state that this is a PvP game? Community-organized tournaments are purely their idea, and even then, people play with restrictions on perks, killers, and maps
3. You're misinterpreting my post, because I'm saying that people with high ping aren't always those using a VPN. There are many factors that can increase ping, such as distance to the nearest server or its complete absence, but you're reducing it all to one criterion: they use a VPN
The claim that DBD is a PvP game is false and has no official confirmation. The only official information is that they changed the gameplay approach from hide-and-seek to running, and now the entire meta/new perks rely on auras and fast chases/info
It is very strange to base your opinion and arguments on the fact that someone should have an advantage over another based on unconfirmed sources

Having thousands of hours of experience correlates with skill level because experienced players have had more time to learn the game, so they tend to play better. The learning curve should be on the part of the killer here, since they're the ones playing a new killer with new mechanics. But there is no learning curve to dominate with this killer, aside from the very basic understanding of point and click.
i have a buddy, that played 15k+ hours this game. Once i played against him in a 1v1 as various killers - he was 90% of the time going down in 10-15 seconds (i had almost 2k hours). So, no, hours do not corellate with skill

I had an idea for a survivor perk. The idea is this: activate ability, whenever activated, your aura is revealed to the killer for the next ten seconds, if you manage to last 25/20/15 seconds without entering a locker or chase during this time, gain indefinite noise reduction and no scratch marks, and if your hit while injured, you go in deep wound. this can only be used once per trail, and the effect will cease whenever hooked. if you are caught within the time you need to remain unseen or enter a locker, you gain broken and hindered and oblivious until downed
so, just use it when killer carries the survivor?

I seriously wouldn't even unhook that survivor from the video, she just gave the killer a ton of resources in the first chase, without thinking about looping at all, as if she was the only one playing against the killer, then Bubba would switch to another and he would immediately down because everything was already used…

The gens will skyrocket because there is -2,5% speed each time gen is compleated and +2,5% repair speed when 2 survivors are caged I think so only smart and evil play is to tunnel some survviors fast early on because having 1 or 2 survivors dead on 4 gens left is way better than having one hook on every survivor and one guy is dead hook. So best way to actualy get much higher chance to win and have no fear from preforming to well so survivors will just get speed bonus to gens and rush you in no time is to tunnel in 2v8 too sadly.
it's actually +2.5% per cage, -5% per gen

As recently as June was an entirely massively killer sided """"handholding"""" update that addressed a buttload of killer's primary complaints. 9.0, which had:
AFK crows turbo buffed through the roof
Go Next prevention (no more 4%ing)
Basekit mori
Spawn rules changed
Map offerings hard nerfedOn top of that, a ton of killer perks got buffs, and the only survivor perks anywhere near the meta (Babysitter and Botany) were both nerfed.
So killers got """""handholding""""" help for:
Survivors trying to play stealthy.
Survivors being able to self-unhook.
Kills on survivors that they couldn't pick up in endgame due to wiggle off.
Preventing survivors from being instantly spread on gens to slow down the early game.
Preventing survivors from being able to guarantee favorable maps. The equal-attention buffs to survivor in this update were… additional penalties for going next, and more BP in the Lightbringer category. Since you're so against """"""handholding""""", do you think that if we go back to June, we'll see you railing against all these changes as well? Or when killers benefit, are they necessary corrections for unfair game mechanics?
and the only survivor perks anywhere near the meta (Babysitter and Botany) were both nerfed.
Babysitter got his buff from 8.7.0 reverted back to 8.1.0 state

Late game, if the killer hasn't received any debuffs (sacrificing before 6 hooks, hooking unique survivors) they very well can tunnel and slug without being penalized and still take the game. I've faced killers who can get 6 hooks, uniquely, before 2 gens are even completed.
The devs want the killer to have the advantage, they will never create a system that deliberately takes away any of that, unless you abuse the system.
you still get gens blocked if you kill previously hooked survivor. This system does not care if you killed him at 2 hooks, or at 6+

From my honest experience in the PTB, I found that:
- It's very hard to get the 25% speed bonus, as a survivor, unless the killer is deliberately tunneling
- Most killers, experienced killers, have already learned how to play carefully, resulting in them actually getting their buffs more often then survivors get theirs.
- This update actually seems more like a buff to killers, actual skilled killers, because they don't just rely on tunneling or slugging, unless it's absolutely necessary, which the system already accounts for.
- People being upset because they can't make their session 1v3 right away grossly selfish, and unreasonable. I don't think most killers realize how unfun it is when you're at 4-5 gens and it's already a 1v3. If they do, they're playing the game how it was unintended. It's not about winning the fastest, it's about having the most fun; so the killers that only tunnel, camp, and slug in order to win are now forced to learn to play, and are the loudest on the forums.
The Krause:
Mid-day, day 1 of the PTB, I would've thought the killer was A tier, as all new killers appear to be, at first. But, after learning to play against them, of course I was able to have more interactive, fun chases, etc.
The only thing I will say is that there should be a bigger cool-down, if any, to when they can switch to the floating-head form. There have been many situations when I'm looping the killer and right away, they switch forms and zoom up to me then back and being able to hit me, or hook someone and zoom right past me, immediately switching to the floating-head form.
I also feel like it takes an extremely long time to heal from the Leached effect.
Michael Myers:
This change has actually made them feel worse to go against. Their prolonged dash, I feel like they're even more stealthy and harder to detect.
Every killer I've gone against was able to knock me down instantly 100% of the time with their dash.
I hope those numbers are adjusted because I will straight refuse to play against the Shape if these changes go through. No matter how long my D/C timer goes up.
My biggest fear is that BHVR are going to make nerfs based on the loudest outcries; in this case, would be the killers who are now being forced to learn how to play properly and not rely on easy-to-win strategies.
Lets face it, these forums are extremely killer-sided and DBD has one of the most toxic communities.
There's already posts of people who haven't even played the PTB and are complaining about the changes.
"This update actually seems more like a buff to killers, actual skilled killers, because they don't just rely on tunneling or slugging, unless it's absolutely necessary, which the system already accounts for."

-Remove zombies (unlikely because Capcom forced them to be part of Nemesis's power to concede the licence).
-Give him a dash like Vecna's (to just traverse the map/not able to injure survs).
-Remove the ability to drag the tentacle sideways to compensate (this is tech/bug exploitation, so this will probably be removed regardless).

You're honestly going with "it takes me 30 seconds to kick a gen?" in this conversation?
Cause, again, when gens are still up you can leave the conviction survivor completely alone and they'll just go be a slug somewhere else, because that's how the perk works. No killer action needed there.
I thought you were complaining about end game, but since you can't make a coherent argument aside from angrily screeching that the perk seems to function in some very, niche and specific situations, I guess I'll have to just leave you alone with your entitled rage on this one.

Ghoul is definitely OP still even after the nerf and i bet more than 50% of the players would agree which makes it a problem whether you think they are crying or not lol.
The DC penalty wasnt bad previously so why buff it. Now if i get a matchmaking ban, the timer only decreases while my app is open... that's ridiculous. And i promise will cause many players to delete the game for ive had 5 already quit since most recent update. Its unnessasary and just downright obnoxious.
Love the game but every single player has quit at some point for many reasons. Bad teammates, teammates whom are teaming with killer (which mind you if you report teamers nothing ever happens @BHVR),
examples : possible cheating, even bugs make players quit. 90% of the time when i rage quit it tends to be someone cheating and most of the time they are but im still punished for leaving or i have a teammate whom just helps killer get you while they've been hiding entire game we ALL know it happens. Lag too.
Pc players who cheat actively continue cheating with very little repercussions for vpn basically saves them cuz BHVR's anti cheat is still horrid. Ive had cheaters pull my ip address and found my real name. Sad that playing the game puts me at risk and for BHVR to just shush players who speak out about anti cheat. Theres many many issues that will never be fixed.

Endgame Collapse exists for these reasons. If survivors are intentionally waiting out the whole timer, use a killer that prevents them leaving when they are hit and run bloodwarden - they'll quickly be punished for not escaping when they had the chance
except most of those killers work only if survivor is injured already, and even then can be easily countered by heal tech

I see this method as the least weaponizable way possible. If you remember when Behaviour was first planning their anti-slug mechanic, they wanted to make it so that if a survivor was not hooked within 45 seconds of being downed, he would immediately go back from dying to injured. THAT was weaponizable. The dying survivor could just crawl under a pallet and wait out the 45 seconds while his teammates stand by to get the stun if the killer tries to pick him up. And let's not forget your fear of flashlights. Just wait out the 45 seconds because if the killer tries to pick you up within that time, your teammates will blind him.
My method avoids those issues. You don't get free health state back after 45 seconds, you only get a free health state back if every other survivor is down. And it's only the first person who was slugged, not all the teammates, so the killer isn't going to be swarmed by survivors with flashlights, it's going to be the one survivor who has been down the longest, who is likely very far away on the map at this point. There's also nothing stopping the killer from putting two or three survivors into the dying state and then start hooking them, he just can't put ALL the survivors into to the dying state at the same time. Surely you can avoid being blinded by a single person with a flashlight to start hooking survivors.
And I'll be honest, I'm least concerned with turbo slugging as much as the toxic gameplay tactic of slugging the last two survivors on the map to secure the 4K by preventing survivors from finding the hatch. The hatch exists for a reason, to give the last survivor at least a chance to make it out alive and it the way the game was designed. It annoys me to no end when the killer cheats and abuses the system by slugged me and making me lay there doing nothing because he needs to hunt the last survivor first to make sure they don't get hatch. By making sure that the last two survivors can't be slugged at the same time, it ensures a fair game for the survivors by allowing them at least a chance of finding the hatch.
Edit: Fixed Typo
it's going to be the one survivor who has been down the longest, who is likely very far away on the map at this pointDo i need to say again, that NO, he won't be very far away. Because, AGAIN, it is a 4man flashlight squad, that all runs TOGETHER
I know that 45s basekit UB was abusable too. That's why that idea got scrapped. But your idea is abusable too. And 4 man flashlight squads aren't the only way
What about 2 survivors left, both camping the pallet? Pick up ⇒ Pallet save and run to the next pallet. Can't down them both. Damn, you can't even realistically bleed them out, since they can just heal tech each other and that stops bleedout timer
Upd. DAMN, i just realized something now. They don't even need to camp the pallet. They can just heal tech each other anywhere on the map and there is NOTHING you can do to stop that (outside of a few killers with specific powers). That's even more abusable, than 45s UB. Well, i guess you can abandon after 10 minutes? -

No, you're right, you shouldn't be forced to run a specific perk to counter toxic behavior, but you shouldn't be able to employ toxic behavior in return either. Two wrongs don't make a right. You know very well what you can do to counter a 4-man flashlight squad, but you'd rather complain about your right to make the game unfun for everyone else than simply do the logical thing to prevent them from making it unfun for you.
I run Lightborn every single match with every single killer. I think it's fun. I've encountered flashlight squads and I've mopped the floor with them and laugh my head off doing it as I imagine their jaws dropping when they realize I have Lightborn on and they have no other skills to help them get through the match. And I think to myself, "It serves them right" because they brought it on themselves by using toxic gameplay tactics.
But I also can't abide killers using toxic gameplay tactics either. At least killers have a perk to defend against flashlights, survivors have nothing to defend against slugging.
Edit: Fixed typo
i agree with the idea of making turbo slugging less abusable. But your solution creates an abuse for survivors, that actually forces killer to slug all survivors till bleed out. That's why it's hard to implement antislug/tunnel/camp mechanics. It needs to be done in such a way, that survivors can't weaponize it
