Teaser title is ‘Don’t Blink’
With plenty of eye and looking/watching hints in their comments now and before in previous teasers.
Otherwise this is again heavily Pennywise coded which cant be just coincidence or Community trying to see it everywhere.
Also, very different tone in this teaser, creepy and weird.

See the moment I saw don't blink i got excited that we were getting weeping angels which low key are by far the most scary thing we could get

Had you not cared, you wouldn't have responded…
…Cause you don't care.
Do you see the dissonance here?
I reply because its funny that people get triggered whenever someone rips on jason lol. Everyone can have their opinion and the fact i replied to expand on my opinion doesnt mean i care if someone disagrees with it.
Also lowkey poking the bear is fun

Warning: if a video game opinion genuinely triggers you, don’t read this thread.😂
I think Nowhere to Hide is one of the cheapest and most braindead perks in the game and makes a bunch of other killer aura perks obsolete.
Why run niche tracking perks when you can just kick a gen and instantly reveal everyone around you for that long? And if you pair it with Lethal Pursuer, it gets even dumber.
People love calling Windows of Opportunity “handholding” for survivors, but what exactly is this then?
The perk takes so much tracking work away from the killer. You just kick a gen with no cooldown and get value. And since you can kick the same gen like 8 times anyway, the limit doesn't matter. It's just “kick gen, spin camera, walk at highlighted survivor.”
- someone’s nearby = free info
- nobody’s nearby = also free info because now you know where not to waste time searching, time to kick the next gen LOL
I don’t even think it’s overpowered necessarily. I just think it’s an insanely low-IQ perk for how much value it gives you.
What’s your unpopular Dead by Daylight opinions?
My unpopular opinions for dbd
Game is actually fairly balanced right now for both survivor and killer
Jason as a franchise is a let down for me as there are really no new gameplay aspects that he brings. I also think jason is overrated and is only wanted because fan girl response
Ghostface is an A teir killer (if you play him correctly)
Vecna (the first) is very balanced as he has a ton of counter play

Replied to this comment to say i quite frankly dont care what you think. Jason is a huge let down and honeatly is a naff man with a machette killer. Dont like my opinion dont read it its that simple. IMO so many better chapters we could have had...like my little pony would have been better lmao

By your own admision, besides the 4 key abilities of Jason, I have literally listed the only thing that could make him "Unique" in the DbD Killer roster, but you're trashing it as "useless"?
A killer who can do pretty much every killer's tricks(short, mid, long range + trap setting) but has to take time out of their run to check lockers to do it, and hasn't a guarantee of what they are getting from said lockers, unlike huntress, is by and far the most unpredictable character in DbD's history.. but that's "USELESS" to you?
Yet you scoff at the idea… and furthermore, HATE on all the "already used" aspects of Jason, even taking them to their Extremes (which we know the devs won't do) to justify your rhetoric, with an air of pure malediction…
Just admit you're a survivor main already! One who doesn't want to deal with a killer who's a "jack of all trades" because it would be too much for you. Do that, Spell out why this hurts you as a survivor more than any other killer, and I'd respect your opinion better, because at least then I'd know what you're afraid of and where the concept could compromise.
Otherwise, this is just a Banal whining from a survivor main that doesn't want a challenge.
Oh its so funny. I am a killer main thru and thru Why on earth would i want to play as a survivor when i can play killer? . I ONLY touch survivor gameplay when i need to complete quests so for you to even mention the whole "Your just a survivor main" is so funny.
"By your own admision, besides the 4 key abilities of Jason, I have literally listed the only thing that could make him "Unique" in the DbD Killer roster, but you're trashing it as "useless"?I am saying that the idea you had would rely to much on RNG and wouldn't be fun. you would spend half the game going back and forth getting weapons and if your doing that you might as well not bother beacuse gens will fly and game will be over as you would lose to much pressure.
"A killer who can do pretty much every killer's tricks(short, mid, long range + trap setting) but has to take time out of their run to check lockers to do it, and hasn't a guarantee of what they are getting from said lockers, unlike huntress, is by and far the most unpredictable character in DbD's history.. but that's "USELESS" to you?"
Useless? No not at all. Fun? most certainly not because of the previous comment of spending half the game searching lockers/chests. Not to mention the balance of each item would have to be perfected which lets face it isn't really going to be possible.
Now although im a killer main i do like to look at things from both sides and the survivors would have really no way to counter a killer with such a wide variety of power. One minute your looping like normal thinking your safe then your hit from double distance by a mid range attack. later in the match you account for that and your sniped with a bow. Like where do you draw the line at what is and isn't over powered.
Simply saying the killer has to take time out of the run to check lockers isn't a way you balance a killer. Huntress and Trickster at least get multiple shots before needing to reload. Not to mention that if he even has the ability to get a range attack by default he would need to be a 4.4 killer which would result in a huge nerf for the rest of his kit.
Now im not saying your idea wouldn't work but it can't be random in game. In order to make it work it would need to be linked to addons. Similar to how freddys addons worked to change his power to dream pallets change jason's secondary weapon using addons.
Some examples would be
Wooden bow - Your M2 becomes a ranged attack that can be reloaded at any chest or locker. You are now 4.4
Old Oar - Your M2 gains increased range being able to hit survivors from 1.5 times the distance. You can no longer gain bloodlust
These are just top of the head examples and as i said the idea could work but not in the form you posted.
The fact you went on a rant accusing me of being a survivor main just shows how salty you get when someone rips on your idea and its quite sad really when all i wanna do is engage in a discussion about it -

understandable. And we started to get These Kind of characters already, with Lara Croft and DnD, so it would surprise me if there wouldnt be more coming
See i know its out there but as i grew up with it and as a kid it was terrifying I wanna see an OG power rangers chapter with Ivan ooze as the killer. Bulk and Skull as the survivors :)

well.. characters in movies being ‘dumb’ isnt really exclusive to old horror movies..
and more modern horror franchises cant really hold up that well (i know there are exceptions)
and yeah, you can look at it Like that: now Jason is finally out of the and there is space for others to come and to be requested.
No its not unique to old horror movies just saying why i don't find them scary and to me horror should be scary. maybe its just im decensitised to it all.
Personally would love to see some chapters that arn't full horror but would still fit the killer/survivor roll -
@SoGo said:
You just showed you are completely uneducated when it comes to horror.
Jason is THE slasher, the icon that started the genre, alongside Freddy and Michael.
His license was what inspired Trapper.
Even endertaining the thought of reducing him to just a Trapper skin is audatious. BHVR themselves decided that Frank Stone, a character from a flopped game, does not deserve this fate, and you assign it to Jason?
As for the powerset, there is a LOT you can do. For instructions, you can check the FT13 game, which game Jason 5 abilities. He could utilize traps and throwing knives, use the enviroment, ect. If BHVR just copied that, they would get the most varied killer probably ever.
I would refer to the F13th game but i can't seem to access the servers anymore. Not sure why this is do you? XD
I will say it again. I have nothing against Jason as far as horror icon goes. The common theme from everyone is he is THE slasher and i don't dispute that. But i play DBD because i want to play a fun game i just don't think he will be "fun" to play. I hope im wrong and i hope behaviour does something good.
Just because he is one of the most iconic horror characters does not automaticly mean he is going to be good for THIS game. It all depends on what creative freedoms DBD have with the license.Everyone seems to think im trying to poo poo all over the franchise which im not. If you take offence to me saying Jason could be a legendary trapper skin well im sorry but nothing i can do about that im afraid.

Doesn't matter how famous he is he at least needs a power for DBD that's fun and fair for both sides far as I can tell he's just gonna end up being a weak M1 killer that'll quickly lose everyone's interest. Only thing they can do really is give him a new original power for DBD like what they've done for Pyramid Head and SpringTrap.
Give this man a medal. 100% agree Jason is gonna be a lackluster M1 killer Unless behaviour goes outside the box with the power. I do truely hope they make his power something special but unfortunately we can only base expectactions on what behaviour has done in the past so im not holding out hope

its okay to be personally disappointed by this announcement, and completely understandable.
But you cant deny that Jason deserves da spot in this roster, he was hugely requested/demanded by the community, and there isnt really anyone else outside of Pennywise that is as huge just from POV of popularity, media recognizability.
I think the issue is everyone only goes towards old horror icons. DBD moved away from horror a long time ago so they should think about chapters that are a bit more modern rather than old stuff (which personally i don't find scary and find the films are more comical than anything else because of how dumb the "survivors" are in the films)

@GentlemanFridge said:
I mean, it's a bit dismissive to just call Jason a man with a machete. For starters, he's THE man with a machete. He and his iconography have codified so many parts of the slasher genre. The mask, the large, hulking dude who never has spoken a word. The weird fixation with killing horny young-adults.
He's THE cultural icon for slashers, and the community knew that his inclusion was a pipe dream at best, for years. it's only relatively recent that Jason's inclusion was even considered possible, but the likelihood was still uncertain, because the licensing is still a mess.
Frankly, including him as a mere skin would be a slap in the face to the slasher genre and horror fans at large. Trapper may be based on him, but it's not like we don't already have characters that are inspired by existing slashers, that we also got later on. Billy and Bubba, Spirit and Sadako, Nurse and the Silent Hill nurses, so on.
And it's also rather dismissive to say they only include older characters, when the previous killer, Henry Creel, is the most recent character in of the whole cast.
I mean i stand by it. he is just a man with machete and there is no disputing that fact. he main be the OG man with machete and i don't dispute that but my original point still stands
@Mikeadatrix said:
Not even gonna bother to read this low-effort rage bait. You don't get to call the King of Slashers, the main inspiration for the Poster Boy of DBD, a disappointment and just "a man with machete".
Michael is a angsty 19 year old with a knife. Bubba has family issues and a chainsaw. Ghost Face is just a guy with a knife. Spirit is just a ghost. Unknown is just a homunculus.
See how reductive and lame you can make any killer sound by deliberately obfuscating their identity? Get over yourself, OP, and let our boy thrive in the Fog after 10 Years of an open invitation to join.
This was never meant to be rage bait. From a purely horror standpoint Jason is great. like you said he is the "king of slashers" and yes he was the inspiration for the poster boy of DBD i will never dispute this. However IMO from a gameplay point he really is just another man with knife.
At the end of the day it comes down to two things. Do you want killers in DBD because they are inconic regardless if they will have any good or fun gameplay or do you want killers that maybe are a little less iconic but have very fun and interactive gameplay. Beacuse lets face it the "Poster boy" hasn't exactly got the most engaging gameplay so what can we expect from the insperation?
At the end of the day this is a video game not a horror film. Killers like Jason work extreamly well in movies or tv shows because they can really work with the horror but in a video game it really is just "look i get to play as jason woop woop" and thats it. Within 1 - 2 weeks of him coming out unless they do something extra special with his power he will be forgotten about because if he doesn't have something decent for his power then only a few die hard fans will continue to play him.
If Jason was revealed as a killer only chapter at any other time other than an anniversary it would be fine i just don't think this is great for the anniversary. -
Personally i think this would be bad. The RNG alone would make him useless because each weapon would only be good in certain situations. Not to mention if its a 1 use weapon you spend half the match just going back to a locker or chest or whatever to get a new weapon. At this point you might as well load up a game of Huntress with irry hatchet.
I would like to comment on the start though about jasons 4 key abilitiesBrute strength - This is half the roster. Majority of killers will have brute strength so although this is an ability its not exactly unique
Immortality - This means nothing in the DBD universe. The survivors arn't out to kill the killer meaning the immortatility is useless
Relentlessness - Your basicly saying he tunnels. Im sure the community will LOVE a killer who's whole idea is he relentlessly attacks one survivor will they are dead lol
Surprise - I feel like all horror characters have this. The only reason they don't within the DBD universe is because of terror radius (unless a stealth killer) however in movies all the bad guys can stay quiet.

Bubba ist just Hillbilly 2.0 and Onryo is just Spirit 2.0
and all the time we just didnt treat them accordingly i guessi mean its what they are.
Trapper was based of Jason
Hillbilly was based of Bubba because at the time they couldn't secure the bubba license
Spirit was heavily influenced by Onryo -
Trapper was based of jason because they couldnt get the license. So now jason will forever be just Trapper 2.0 lmao

Personally cant wait for the All things wicked chapter 2. Unknown was a great killer and sable was very well recieved. Given the recent rift introduced a new character next to sable personally think this was a major hint.
I know a lot of people want jason but jason although fits because horror other than that is just man with knife and we already have those and they are boring af to play.

They needed to be CRYSTAL clear this was NOT going to be a reveal stream or anniversary stream.
Also I swear if this stream ends after 13 hours… all of the 13-related stuff was fun but at this point it's like, "okay we get it, it's Jason"
And if it's NOT Jason then that's even worse, because nobody else justifies all of the 13s. God forbid it's an original killer.
This is the same cabin that they did for the unknown on an aniversary ive been told. Along with rift hints im thinking its a second unknown chapter

Ok so it’s that you have to click the button to START the timer. You don’t have to keep the game open once it has started.
I thought you had to leave it up completely. Either way the time out isn't working to stop DCing unfortunately. different punishments are needed as its becoming an issue again at least from the games im playing

OMG they added Nearly Headless Nick to the game. Harry potter chapter confirmed

Simple fix is just remove lobby. You queue, you find a group you go into a game instantly. The whole ready up process is already a waste of time.
Don't get me wrong i have lobby dodged in the past top reason having 4 survivors all having similar name and outfit which is clearly a swf running with some sort of plan. Not saying i don't like going against swfs i actually prefer it but something about all 4 having the same outfit and similar names just doesn't sit right with me and i associate it with bully squad so i don't take the risk.@JPLongstreet said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4068031#Comment_4068031
I don't think the lobby itself should be removed completely. It is iconic to the game and allows the killer to adjust their build based on items. Maybe some form of locked lobby is needed, where once their system does its thing there's no leaving?
Another here mentioned checking profiles & hours. This probably shouldn't be a thing either, especially concerning the vast majority of the playerbase cannot do it anyway and it's done specifically to dodge or not.
The only reason I see for it that has merit imo is sniffing around for "known cheaters and hackers". That's another topic entirely, and I agree much more needs to be done server-wise to combat it, but again most players cannot even check in the first place.
There is always a way to leave a lobby. simply closing the game will do it.
Now im a killer main so i get where your coming from with killer able to change their build based on what survivors are bringing but this is unfair on survivors as they can't see who they are going against and change thier build accordingly. Not sure why anyone likes the lobby as its just a time waste. nothing worse than having a long queue time followed by sitting there waiting because players don't ready up quickly. Going straight from queue to offering screen would be so much better as it would mean faster games and everyone is on a fair playing field in terms of advanced knowledge.
For those saying Check hours in lobby whats the point? Hours mean nothing in DBD. Take my playtime for example. 1289.1 hours at time of this comment yet only about 100 of them are as survivor and about 500 - 600 as killer. The rest is just lobby and queue. Its why you will come up against a 10k hour lobby and you can still beat them because most of the time you can take "playtime" and half it for true in game hours as the rest is just filler. -
Honestly the need to ready up to serve your penalty is insane. Honestly i believe its a way to inflate playtime. Nothing inflates playtime like sitting in queue for a long period of time.
Giving a player a time out is a way of saying to that player "Your clearly not having a good time, close the game and go do something else for a bit" but now if you DC out of anger or saltyness or whatever reason you forced to have the game open which is quite frankly unhealthy for those who DC a lot as they need to take a break from the game for a bit not just sit infront of it waiting.
Other than this a time out penalty isn't really a punishment. Yeah you can't play the game but there is no long lasting punishment for those who DC a lot.
I think the DC penalty needs completely changing anyway. Having a time out is one thing however most players DC because the game isn't going their way and they are salty. Have a different punishment for them.
Some examples of punishments could be.
Remove bloodpoints. For every DC have x amount of bloodpoints removed from them. If they have no BP have a system that allows them to go into negative BP and they then need to actually play games and earn more to have BP to spend again. This isn't the most sevear punishment but it stops progression. For those who DC a lot they would likely have no BP to spend on a new survivor/killer.
remove prestige levels - A more severe punishment for sure but why not after the first DC you start to lose character levels for that character. A work around for those who want to just DC every game would be play a 0 prestige character but a fall back could be timeout if no more levels to remove. Amount of levels removed could be determind by amount of DCs similar to timeouts now.Remove items and offerings. A percentage loss of items. Having a percentage amount of items, addons and offerings removed for a DC penalty is quite severe but if your DCing a lot of games then you deserve to have a huge penalty.
Obviously any removal of in game items would have to be fine tuned for the amounts but honestly if your DCing enough to get a penalty then you deserve an actual penalty not just a time out. -
Its simple. The most unhealthy thing for this game that has always been the case is end game chat. It allows a form of hate and abuse that otherwise isn't in the game. Worst your gonna get in the game compared to the horrendous end game chat is some bags, tunneling or god forbid some killer humping a survivor on the ground

Oh don't get me wrong i don't take any notice of the end game chat. no matter if you tunnel and camp or if you fairly 12 hook you still get salt so i just make fun of it these days hence this post XD.

@Dinadin said:
I dont understand how anyone can even think Vecna is mid-tier. Among High-MMR he has actually the second-best killrate right now.
I kinda rate killers a bit different. Saying High MMR means nothing as if you just play the game you will reach the soft cap of MMR regardless of skill level.
Take blight for example. You watch someone like Lilithomen play him and my god he is just 4k after 4k because he is VERY good with him. For that yeah S teir killer but only because of all the time learning him.
If you watch gameplay of my game as blight you would think that he is D teir because it looks like he sucks.
I feel that teiring killers needs to be done 3 times. One teir list for new players trying killer, one teir list for casual gamers who play every so often (which i fall into) and one teir list for top MMR big players who put a lot of hours into it.
Because of that this is why i put The First as mid/late tier so about B teir because he does take skill and game knowledge to play especially due to how slow he is and the fact W key outplays him.
Also Killrate doesnt mean the killer is strong. Purely means survivors havn't figured out the counter yet. He is still new and from my understanding based on friends who play survivor they don't see many of them. This means kill rates are kinda inflated as you get survivors who don't know what they are doing against him. Don't get me wrong over the last couple of days my average kill rate is high but only beacuse ive been getting groups that just don't know what they are doing (not looking behind and never dodging attacks) -

@OrangeBear said:
Tbh yes i would say he is one of the best killers. He just doesn't feel great to play because he is very spammy and his mobility is fairly restrictive. One you understand that though, brush off any time you miss with your attack and use your mobility carefully. He's very strong.
See as someone who has played a lot of henry im finding more and more games surivors are learning to counter. The spam method actually doesn't work for the most part as instant letting go 9/10 times survivor just doubles back or counters early as they anticipate the spam.
To get hits now im having to learn to hold it a bit and not spam which makes chases a little longer but more constant on the downs.
It doesn't help that he has a HUGE counter and thats just loops a hill, go up some stairs or any sort of elevation. Unless your direct behind then your power is very hard to get right as it latches onto sides of stairs or sides of objects. I find this a lot in hawkins with all the small elevations and shelving there -
Very outthere but give me Herobrine from Minecraft. Hell bring in Jackblacks steve as the survivor lol. Survivor perks focused around building (building pallets, building breakable walls).

So in other words, the anti-tunnel would only activate AFTER tunnelling has already happened.
Brilliant. What a deterrent.
What has tunneling got to do with anything. the OP stated ENDGAME only not the entire game. During the game 15 second endurance is fine nothing wrong with it. The main issue is you hook a survivor in end game, they get unhooked and they have invincibilty frames long enough to just escape. A unhook in endgame should still carry risks. You have taken what ive said and looked at it from a purely hatred of killer point of view.
@Firellius said:

Still not really, since it'd reward tunnelling by giving better odds at an endgame kill. As Aven says, it'd be better if it scaled down with hooks.
How on earth does this reward tunneling? A killer who has to hardcore tunnel in a game won't be able to get a kill in end game anyway as they usually suck at outplaying survivors and if they are that good it won't even get to end game. Also my idea means less survivors left = more endurance. This means a killer who tunnels out actually gets punished more in end game rather than one that doesnt. Really what my idea shows is im saying give survivors a BUFF in endgame if there are already dead survivors. meaning a buff to survivors if a killer tunnels.
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4064779#Comment_4064779
It would be more acceptable in Endgame. But then we are at the point where we have to ask why Survivors should be punished for playing well.
IMO it would be better if it would be somehow tied to unique Hooks the Killer has. I think it is more justified if a Killer who has 6+ Hooks in Endgame and did not tunnel gets an advantage in Endgame compared to the Killer who has 1 Hook before reaching Endgame, because they tried to tunnel.
I like the idea of linking it to hooks but it means behaviour has to 100% define what tunnling is and that will not be what the larger communty sais it is.
As a killer you can hook survivor 1, hook survivor 2, then re-hook survivor 1 because they decided to get in the way or do something dumb and your called a tunneler. Or survivors will aggressivly use there basekit BT for a hit then cry because you had no choice but to hit them and at that point why not take the kill. That aint tunneling thats the survivor being an idiot. Again really like the idea of reducing the endurance time based on unique hooks (maybe 1 second less for each unique hook meaning worse case 2 people left is 5 seconds) but then you will just get complaints that this is unfair as killers will, and i quote an actual team i went against, Tunnel the entire team. -
@Daniel_Silva04 said:
What were the devs thinking giving survivors 15 seconds of Endurance during the endgame? It’s basically a free escape. 15 seconds of running at 4.4 m/s with invulnerability... I’ve already lost so many games to this unfair situation. A survivor can literally cross half the map with a speed boost and protection, and there’s nothing you can do. Even if you switch targets, they just use it to bodyblock you. The endgame was already survivor-sided, and this just makes it even more difficult and unfair for killers.
So i 100% agree that this 15 second endurance is insanly unfair in the end game and I have made a similar post to this myself when the basekit BT first came about. Like you i was met with a lot of people saying that im just entitled and a crybaby killer.
I've read thru the comments on this thread and its quite laughable how extream each side goes. Killers say its an unwinable situation and that survivors sweat for the 4 out. Survivor say end game is killer sided and any end game hook shuold be a trade at least. What i feel a lot of people overlook is the situations that the 15 second endurance becomes unfair. So lets break that down when the endurance is fair and when it is not. Now before i get into it full disclosure. I'm a killer main thru and thru. I have played survivor a little but 90% of my time is spent as killer. Desite this my thoughts on this are objective and look at both sides of the game not just from the side of the killer
2 survivors left - Completely fair to have endurance. Rescuing someone on hook on your own in end game is certain death. Either you don't get the unhook or its a straight trade and most of the time the killer will then try for the 4k because why not so in this situation i feel like the endurance is 100% fair for the survivor3 survivors left - Semi fair to have endurance. Its a much easier rescue if 3 are alive as it shouldn't be a trade however likely hood is everyone will be injured meaning killer has a good chance of getting someone down. Allowing endurance to take 1 body block hit i feel is fair here
4 survivors left - Unfair to have endurance - The reasoning behind this is there are 3 survivors who can rescue. chances are you within running distance of a gate and most of the time that gate is open. This means 2 survivors tag team the rescue with the last survivor there to take a body block hit. Having endurance after this is just insane and results in a completely free escape
So given the 3 scenarios of end game rescue this is what I personally would love to see
During end game the standard 15 second endurance should be scrapped and replaced with a new type of endurance that is based on the amount of survivors alive at the time (alive and not slugged)
Base kit of 5 seconds of endurance and for every other survivor not in the trial 5 seconds of endurance should be added.- 2 survivors left will default 15 seconds
- 3 survivors left will default 10 seconds
- 4 survivors left will default 5 seconds of endurance
I feel this would allow an endurance hit straight of hook so its not completely unfair after an unhook else killers would just let the unhook happen and hit off hook but at the same time would require survivors to actually work for the escape by taking hits instead of relying on endurance to give them the escape. I feel this is the fairest way to handle endurance in end game as to not make it free for the survivor or make it free for the killer by just removing endurance completely

Just leaving a final coment on this post.
ItIts Amazing that my original post asked the question of what is the point of a finisher mori when the abandon feature is avaliable and thats turned into aparently me being on some power trip.
The whole point of the question was to ask whats the point. I quite frankly couldnt give a rata behind if i get a mori at the end infact most games i just hook or abandon if i cant find the slugged bot.
there were some constructive convos in this post especially around the fact that abandon should be avaliable for both killer and survivor when end game collapse is in play.
Its just shocking to me how so many will read a post, pick up on a few key words and make massive assuptions despite me constantly reststing the original question which was brushed over in favor of assuming myself and other killers just want to punish survivors and force them to watch the mori animations.
Bottom line is with the game how it is deva might as well not bother with the mori at all. Its very clear that as a survivor you have 0 interest in seeing them which is fine and as a killer after the first few yeah they get boring.
All in all regardless of assumtions made its been a fun social experiment and really shows that despite the topic there will always be parts of the community that will turn anything and everything into an us vs them

I do love how you start with a resonable discussion then go into a very petty "well the survivors should be able to injure and kill the killer lol. Like thats not "making things equal" thats just being petty.
It's called argument ad absurdum. Taking someones argument to it's logical conclusion to show why it's ridiculous.
People commonly ask for "killers to have the same options as survivors" and this is a pretty obvious example of why they don't actually want that.
What they want is to be able to cut short a game and move on. Which is already base kit with "hit them out" and can still potentially get an extra kill in end game. Which isn't an option survivors have without abandon.
Im sorry but your just wrong. Your argument that killers have a base kit way to get out of the game by "hit them out" is not true. Yes fair if 4 survivors are sitting at the exit gate you can hit them out however its not just that. As ive said before if your rolled as a killer a lot of survivors think they are entitled to have "fun" in the end game be that looting chests, chase with killer knowing they are already better and wont get caught, spam vaulting other side of the map or just general BM in the exit gate. There is no Base Kit way to end the game as a killer except trigger the 2 min timer and hope they survivors come to the exit gate.
When we are asking for killers to have the same options as survivors what we mean is in regards to the fairness of the game not gameplay features.
You seem to think that we want the ability to do everything a survivor can do in game which is not true at all. All that was proposed as the ability to abandon once the end game collapse has started so the killer can get out of the game. I look at end game collapse starting a lot of the time the same thing as being downed on the floor.
Of course not always the case which is why abandon is a choice not automatic. -
@crogers271 said:
New proposal - the killer doesn't know when the survivor abandons.
That way you can always imagine the human is at the screen if you want.
I get this was a joke sort of but legit this would be a great idea.
Not allowing others to see if a survivor has disconnected would likely cause games to be played normally.
In my games whenever i have an early DC (usually salty because first down) i often get the whole team just give up. It seems like 3 and a bot vs killer is unwinable for the survivors in my games. If the survivors don't know their team mate has DCed then the game would be played like normal no giving up early game.
Low key think that what seems to be a bit of a jab comment actually makes sense when you think about disconnects instead of abandons -

They could make the abandon feature only activate after several seconds of lying on the ground, so that they couldn't cheese their way out of the mori. But the devs intentionally made it activate instantly, so that the survivor's ego would not be shattered. So no, it's not because of the bleedout, not even close.
Hate to say it but even if the abandon was delayed by a few seconds survivors can still exit during the animation. And the devs allowed it to be active instantly because likely its easier to code that way. I think your missing the whole point here

Abandon once exit gates are powered
This cuts out a big part of the game. There are entire builds and perks focused around end game (blood warden, noed, terminus, batteries included, fire up, etc).
Not every survivor is in the exit gates to teabag. It's called being a good teammate and the correct tactical play to wait in the exit gate until you're sure everyone else is out. No crouching is required. (Not to mention that some killer kits and perks might even encourage leaving without being forced out)
And in the event that you do need to leave the exit gate to help, there's a likely chance that you'll be giving the killer an extra kill. And even if it is cocky survivors, you may still be able to force errors or capitalize on mistakes to get a kill. That's called PVP.
None of that exists for slugs.
But since you're so obsessed with making these equal, then why not give survivors the same things as killers have? A slug can now injure and down the killer, and turn that situation into a potential escape instead of a near kill? That's the actual equivalent of what the killer has, base kit. That sounds like a terrible idea to me, but it would meet the requirement of "make things equal".
Or barring that, use a base kit ability to shorten the timer, like killers can hit survivors out. That's the real equivalent of abandon in this case, is killers can hit survivors out and cut short the end game collapse (even start the EGC). Survivors do not have that option without abandon.
Might not even have that option with abandon, since there are other requirements other than "be slugged" here, like if your teammate is still up.
I do love how you start with a resonable discussion then go into a very petty "well the survivors should be able to injure and kill the killer lol. Like thats not "making things equal" thats just being petty.
And to comment on the first part yes there are a lot of builds out there for end game but whats been suggested is upon end game collapse being started, so the 2 minute timer, at that point allow abandon for the killer. I don't understand why you went so hard against the idea honestly.
Also if the feature was there doesn't mean killers have to use it. as you said sometimes survivors make mistakes resulting in free kills however a lot of the time if a killer has been rolled they want the game over just like survivors who are being rolled just stand under a hook because they want their game over. You seem so adamant on contesting the idea you fail to see things from a killer point of view -

How are you forced to wait? Unless it's a hacker I've never been forced to wait 2 minutes. The last survivor can abandon because it meets the conditions of the abandon system - all team mates are dead or slugged. Changing it specifically for the last survivor to have to remain in the game for a few seconds seems like a ridiculous waste of their limited bandwidth that could otherwise go elsewhere. If people want an abandon system for killers then absolutely advocate for one. But this tit-for-tat stuff is silly. The OP isn't 'provide abandon options across the board', it's 'stop them from abandoning at all.'
Actually my original post was purely commenting on the fact that the mori system is pointless with the abandon feature in play once last survivor is down.
At no point did i want abandoning to stop simply suggested a way for moris to become a thing again by stopping the last survivor in the trial abandoning in favor of an instant mori upon going down feature.
I would be all for abandon option across the board. just a blanket once end game collapse starts then everyone both killer and survivor can abandon. This would also help with hackers who hold hostage.
And forced to wait 2 minutes can happen. Ive had games were ive had to open the exit gate because survivors are just trolling end game and not leaving.
its very easy for survivors to run back into the map to loot items, do bones, or just generally troll spam vault at an oposite exit gate or something -

In almost every game I've ever played, one of my "Cardinal sins of game design" is unskippable cutscenes.
But I'm curious why:
All you are doing is doing a mori on a bot and thats just no fun at all.
Read that out loud for me.
As for "fixes":
Remove the abandon feature if there is only 1 survivor left in the game when they go down. This means that the killer can get his final mori on a player not just a bot
Absolutely not. Surely you understand that this would just result in killers slugging for 4 minutes. Or rather, slugging for 3:59 and then Mori at the last second?
Yes reading that line out loud is a bit of a mouthful and was written wrong however my point still stands. if i wanna mori bots i would do it in a custom game.
"Absolutely not. Surely you understand that this would just result in killers slugging for 4 minutes. Or rather, slugging for 3:59 and then Mori at the last second?"
You do understand that you have read 1 part and skipped over the very important second section. Incase you missed it let me repaste it here"So I would love to see a change in how this system works but it would be specific so that it can't be abused by killers.
1. Remove the abandon feature if there is only 1 survivor left in the game when they go down. This means that the killer can get his final mori on a player not just a bot
2. 3 - 5 seconds after the survivor goes down the mori animation automaticly plays. This would give survivors who go down at the hatch a chance to escape or those who go down right at the exit of the game a chance to escape but in all other situations would enable the killer to get the final kill."
I very clearly state in section 2 of the changes that after 3 - 5 seconds after the survivor goes down the mori animation automaticly plays. How would that result in a 3.59 second slug followed by a mori?

You do understand the difference between gameplay (chasing survivors out of the exit) and an animation, right?
Absolutly. One is a 15 second maximum animation and the other is potentially 2 minutes of wasted gameplay if the survivors want to. Tell me which is worse
-
@Abbzy said:
Just give abandon to killer once gates are powered and bot will take over so survivors can tbag the hell from devs creation.
Now its just double standart that one side can skip the ending when they want and other must go till the end.
Like you say survivors can abandon even to skip 8 seconds of animation but killer must push them out so it doesnt take minute or two and he cant skip it but devs and majority doesnt see it as double sandart because that devs and majority are survivor based (sided or how would you call it), its like explaining right handed guy why it sucks to be left handed when everything is right handed.
100% agree. Abandon once exit gates are powered.
If survivors can leave the game early why can't killers. Honestly there is nothing worse than being rolled in a game which is fine but then having to sit thru the entire end game because instead of leaving survivors wanna chase more or BM more (not to mention the salt in end game chat regardless of win or lose)
If survivor players are adamant they shouldn't have to sit thru a mori then us killers shouldnt have to sit thru end game collapse if we don't want to -
Some of you seem to not understand my original post. The whole point is there is no point in having a finisher mori with the abandon feature. Like once the last survivor abandons then the killer can abandon making moris pointless.
A lot of effort is clearly put into the mori animation its just weird that they have a mechanic in the game that could in theory mean the mori is never seen. (highly unlikely but in theory possible)@Dinadin said:
Why should we be forced to watch something that weve seen for thousand times already and is literally just a waste of time?
Why should i be forced to push survivours out of the exit gate when ive seen you leave 1000s of times. Why should I be forced to watch you bag on the hatch which ive seen 1000s of times. We can all ask questions like this but its not the point of this post.@Wyndsor said:

@CompetitifDBD said:
I mean, u can still see your mori. The survivors just have the agency to save some time and abandon or also enjoy the mori. Most save time though.
What I would like to see for the finisher mori system is that when you begin the kill interaction on the last remaining survivor, it would do what that one PTB did and teleport you to a cinematic area of the map and then play the mori. That'd be pretty cool and potentially incentivize some people to stick around and watch the moris at least for a little while after its addition
I would also love the teleport feature same with the instant mori on final down but as i said in my original post only if there is 1 survivor remaining in the trial.
@ArcT said:
Why is it important to you that your opponent watch a humiliation ritual? Do you think that upon finding the hatch, the killer should be teleported to it to watch a cutscene play out where the survivor escapes? On the last survivor leaving the exit gate, that you should be teleported to it to watch them leave?
And if your complaint is that survivors can teabag and taunt, then you're so close to getting it. DBD's endgame is designed godawfully, with no meaningful interactions on either side, leading to situations where both sides are free to BM and be toxic asshats with complete impunity. Even your suggestion to supposedly prevent stalling the game still allows the killer to just not down the survivor and they still won't be able to do anything.
BHVR has only partially closed off a small portion of this with the abandon system, but it's still only a band-aid on a massive sucking wound of bad game design. Pulling back the band-aid slightly isn't going to fix jack.
I have not said its important to me you have clearly skim read the post and assumed its just an us vs them post.
The point of this is asking what is the point of finisher mori when the abandon feature is a thing."On the last survivor leaving the exit gate, that you should be teleported to it to watch them leave?"
I would honestly love this because it means I don't have to cross map to the other exit gate just to force them out as so many survivors live and die by the "Watch Me Leave" mentality that this feature would be amazing. Us killers can't abandon we have to sit and watch it whatever BM the survivors want to give
How is it a Humiliation ritual? thats a very weird attitude to take against the mori animations. This is just part of the game its like a reward for the final kill of the survivor. you wanna talk about humiliation ritual look at survivors who just bag at the exit gate to BM or killers who slug and "hump" on the ground. -

How is this toxic. Is it that bad to have a bit of fun these days. Enough toxic end game chats of kids crying that they lost i am just making a joke out of it. Dunno if you noticed but majority of replies to this post is joining in on the joke.
Read back over everything and tell me truthfully if anything here is "Toxic". There is no us vs them, there is no hate, there is no calling players out by name. Just light hearted fun.
And i will note that Killer players can be just as salty in end game chat if they get rolled or if they win its just I only play killer side so i only see the salt from survivors. -

i believe i can give you the rough copy of this rulebook you should be following. it basically says:
"You, as killer should not try your best to win, you should intentionally handicap yourself for the entertainment of others"
"You, as killer should take into account other peoples enjoyment even when you are not having fun yourself"
"your enjoyment does not matter, you are there to entertain the 4 other players and as your enjoyment does not matter, DO NOT expect others to stop looping or stop doing gens thinking that they will take your enjoyment into consideration…they will not"
Thats pretty much the jist of the rulebook killers are expected to follow.
Thank you this helps a lot. I must suffer for the enjoyment of others. I see this now :)

im on uk servers which often includes eu servers and i play between 10pm to about 5 or 6am. im not saying its a huge issue im just stating my own experience backs up the experience of others that have said they get the same players with the same perks over and over. The people that i was playing against thought it was an issue because i was getting 4k on them almost every time, which is probably why they asked me to dodge them (i didnt dodge). They wouldnt force themselves into my lobby then ask me to dodge them, not only that but they dont know who the killer is until the match starts.
Its not a 1 off thing either, its been like it for a while. Even back before the map offerings were nerfed i would get the same squad multiple times a night and they ALWAYS dc'd in loading screen when they saw The Game offering because they knew it was me. Even now i play survivor and come across the same team mates multiple times a night, we finish a match, i q up again and i get the same guy or same duo i was just playing with 30sec ago.
Firstly dude. Go to sleep man. Secondly fair. that time of night there would be less people playing on our servers so understandable you getting repeats.
Honestly the only thing i see 8 out of 10 games is the post game salt. That is always the same. no variety at all just the same insults about the same unfounded things just because they lost XD -

i can confirm i have had months of the same thing over and over as killer. Maybe its MMR, maybe its the times that people play, maybe its a region thing? no idea of the cause but i was having literally the same SWF multiple times in a row, multiple nights in a row… they used the same perks (i used the same killer and perks) every time. They even asked me to dodge them if i see them in the lobby because i can see them as im killer and they were getting fed up with going against me time after time.
Point is, believe it or not, it is very much possible for people to see 0 variety and see the same things repeatedly match after match.
The odds of getting the same swf multiple times in a row and multiple nights in a row is insanly low. Realisticly i cant see that happening unless your in a region with like 10 players.
Im on eu servers and i rarely get the same survivor and i maybe recognise a survivor in my lobby maybe once a month.
I dont wanna say your lieing but your making this out to be a huge issue with no proof and the examples your using seem very exagerated.
What i would do if you are seeing this truthfully is record it, put it on yourtube then report it because in that example of same swf time and time again shouldnt happen and could be thst either a bug or they
are forcing themself into your lobby
