Reddit will be a terrible place for anyone that wants to discuss DBD. Despite disagreeing and being disagreed with often, I felt the DBD forums offered the most balanced takes. Reddit is just a killer main circle jerk. They downvote anything that isn't "killer good, survivor bad". They even started a subreddit called "r: killer mains" because even a few dissenting opinions was too much for them.
-
Reddit is a killer main circle jerk. I like this community cause it gives both sides. But maybe Discord won't be so bad. There's also communities on Facebook which are pretty good.
-
Saying Judgement isn't S-Tier/High A tier is the new "Ghoul isn't that good". Bro you're in denial about how strong this killer is.

I don't think they're nerfing WoO because it's OP but just because it renders other info perks in the same category obsolete. They want more options to create more build diversity and honestly even then I bet a lot of the people who run WoO now will still run it. Only now there will be reasons to run chase info perks other than WoO.
I don't think Windows making 5MA ahead obsolete is a good reason to nerf WOO. No one was asking for 5MA to have a similar effect as windows. People don't even use 5MA ahead for the aura reading. That's why 5MA will be fine while WOO is a dead perk. It does the same thing as resilience except on a cooldown.

I mean, what’s the alternative? Should people be forced to stay in a game if they have no chance of winning? Say you kill three survivors at four gens, should the last survivor just sit around doing gens even though he’s clearly lost the game?

which is why its ridiculous its been nerfed to the point it's no use in the current scope of things
i agree. It should be brought back and even buffed. But seeing as how BHVR even made a killer like Jason that gets basekit information, they wanna force the chase meta. It doesn't matter if you aren't good at looping. BHVR hates you and thinks you should "git gud".
-
@Rokku_Rorru said:
bruh this is the same reason they gave for distortion, do they play their own game. People return to the hook regardless lol
I don't think Distortion would even work with all the aura reading in current DBD. Most of the aura perks are on 30 second cooldowns now. Deerstalker and that new Judgement perk really ushered in the aura meta.
-
I’ve seen enough. Nerf STB.
-
Also gotta love how they're indirectly admitting aura reading has become a vital crutch for many killer players. Now who's getting their hand held?

Also because, unless you buy the relevant dlc or are on the Switch, Kate isn't basekit so beginners won't necessarily have access to her or her perks.
In that respect maps are more beginner friendly since they do the same thing and are basekit.
I’m sorry, but unless they give maps infinite charges, it’s not gonna be an adequate replacement. And we all know how killer mains would react to anything being infinite. Fog vials, anyone?
I use maps every now and again to find dull totems. And I can say seeing auras of pallets for ten seconds at a time ain’t that helpful.
-
If they really wanted a "meta shakeup" then corrupt, pain res, and bbq should have all been on the chopping block. Those are all the most used killer perks, right? But they're just nerfing survivor meta which is incredibly frustrating for someone who only plays this game because of his duo.
-
Why would you waste a perk slot on Small Game. Just bring a map and the proper addons.
-
The worst part about Judgement is the dozens of aura reading perks that activate with very little requirement. You don't even have to look for survivors anymore. There are dozens of perks that reveal their auras. And honestly, not even old Distortion would protect us from all the aura reading BHVR has given killers. Oh and they're buffing deerstalker. Just what Judgement players need.
-
I just saw that Stake Out doesn't work with Hyperfocus anymore. What the heck. Is there any point to playing survivor anymore? They might as well load us into the game on hook.
-
@Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:
People keep asking for the meta to be shaken up and then we get complaints when it finally gets shaken up. I will say that if some of the top killer perks don’t also get nerfed then you have a valid reason to complain.
I don’t want the meta shaken up by means of nerfing the top perks into irrelevance. That’s lazy. I want them to buff existing perks and introduce new perks that are actually good.
-
Okay, I see people saying Windows should be nerfed because it has a high pick rate (does that logic also work for pain res and Ghoul or…?). But have you considered people use Windows because there’s nothing else. Anything that’s halfway strong will be nerfed into the ground or is extremely situational. I know I just play it safe and bring information perks because you consistently get value. Deja Vu ain’t that strong but you still see tons of people using it because there’s nothing else and the information is consistent.
-
They’ve nerfed so many good survivor perks in the last months, but hey, at least they buffed repressed alliance. I’m sure that will fill the place of all the nerfed meta perks.
-
@NeverSolus said:
Why do people keep acting like killer perks would be the only perks getting nerfed in the perk shake-up? Everyone is gonna get nerfs and adjustments. This is quite literally what we've been asking for.
Who said that? Nobody said that. I play both sides. It’s just lately survivors have been getting the short end of the stick lately, so I’m complaining from that perspective. What is this like five meta perks nerfed the last two patches? Imagine if killers were being nerfed that badly. Yes, I’d still be complaining.
-
@Royval said:
good nerfs finally a shake up in the meta. Perks like Windows and Five Steps are bad design. Game doing the work for you.
If you wanna shake up the meta then Pain Res and DMS should be at the top of the nerf list. Somehow I don’t think this about shaking up the meta. BHVR pulled a BHVR and only listened to those crying about how strong four STB players is in comp.

I disagree Halloween has no future. Halloween is the asymmetrical horror game for people who don’t wanna deal with all the stressful and frustrating things DBD brings. No slugging, no tunneling, no camping, no bully squads. Of course a lot of DBD fans were gonna hate it because Myers isn’t a power house who can fight entire groups of survivors. It ain’t that type of game. People should stick to DBD if they wanna live out a power fantasy.
-
If the killer can see your aura after completing a gen then it’s basically a “please kill me” feature.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
When the Halloween game gets abandoned, possibly.
Hopefully it doesn’t. It’s certainly better for your mental health than DBD. No tunneling, no camping, no slugging, no bully squads. It’s a good game.
-
And some DBD fans were making fun of Halloween for being buggy. Shouldn’t cast stones yada yada.
-
Light is one of the few means survivors have to defend themselves. You expect survivors not to use it? Like someone else said, use Lightborn if you’re really struggling that badly.
-
@jesterkind said:
Why would you see more m1 killers after a basic balance change to an unrelated survivor perk…?
Because apparently SB was one of the reasons M1 killers weren't viable. Turns out everyone just wants to play with the overpowered killers.
-
Has anyone started repairing the shack generator when trying to vault the window?
-
I'm glad people are smartening up on Judgement. The worst part about Judgement is a lot of killers won't even trying to take chase with her. They'll just sit in the middle of the map sniping generators with her. It's boring for the survivors. And yes, BHVR has gotten carried away with the aura reading. Anyone tried the perk "Eye See You"? That perk will activate multiple times in Judgement games.
-
@lovlor said:
Boons are very bad. Don't deserve the perk slot. The more boon you bring the fewer exhaustion/anti tunnel/gen rush/team perks you can bring and they are obviously more important than boon
I think Expo and CoH are very good. I just wish more people knew CoH shows your aura to the team if you're injured and within the boons range. And expo is like one of three perks in the game that counters slugging. You gotta take advantage of that.
-
They’re good for people who struggle to get boldness points. Unfortunately they’re just to dang loud to be viable. I don’t know why they’re so loud. Cause outside of CoH they’re not even that strong.

I would completely agree. The last year of Killers have all been A-Tier without any form of Doubt. And if we look before that, there are still Ghoul, Dracula and Vecna who are A-Tier Killers. So in the past 2+ years, 7 out of 9 Killers released have been A-Tier. And during that time, Survivors did not really get much or got nerfed outright. In the most recent patch Killers got a very strong Killer while Survivors got 3 bad Perks and a bunch of things nerfed and the only Buffs were basically throwing them a bone. Like, who cares about 1 second more on Adrenaline if you dont make it to Endgame in the first place?
Especially the last 4 Killers (so Krasue, Henry, Jason, Judgment) have very spammy abilities. They have barely any Cooldown at all, even Jason basically has always a Spear ready despite only having one. And the last three Killers even all have a Mini-Mori, which allows them to make it easier to tunnel without even bringing a Memento Mori Offering (granted, Judgment would not need it, since she can tunnel very good already, but it certainly does not make her worse to have a Mini-Mori).
On the topic of tunneling, I experienced a lot more tunneling since they removed 5 seconds of Endurance. Because you just make it less likely to a safe position. That you get 10 seconds of Elusice does basically nothing, I am always telling my SWF-Mate that I am really wondering why I just got tunneled, since I have Elusive and people call it the strongest Status effect in the game…
But to be honest, Survivor players are at fault here. They get ######### over and over again by BHVR, good things are either scrapped or reverted and the things which are Buffs are basically only to calm them a bit. And Survivors still queue up, making Killer queuetimes somewhat bearable.You're right that survivor content creators are not loud and vocal enough. People like Hens and Mish just tell people to "git good" which is no help.
-
I'm a diehard survivor main and think the game is in a bad spot. The que times speak for themselves. To me BHVR has gone to far in nerfing survivors and their are now way too many A tier killer that are easy to use. Ghoul, Krasue, Dracula, Jason. The power creep makes for a miserable time. The only way to consistently have fun as a survivor is to join a four man group.
-
Anyone who says DBD is survivor sided is living in the past. Survivor is miserable now. DBD is SWF sided. And BHVR balances around SWFs even though solo is the majority.

Notice people only want distortion buffed since the judgement came out,maybe distortion and aura perks aren't the problem but the new killer itself… Interesting that everyone seems to be avoiding the elephant in the room
Yeah the new killer is really bad. Crazy how BHVR overrode people on the boon totem suggestions, but let the new killer have an attack that stretches half way across the map. You can't even work on a gen without having to dodge every 5 seconds. We just got people who refuse to engage in chase and instead snipe at people from the middle of the map. Judgement is the only killer in the game aura reading is this miserable on.
-
No BHVR wants to force the chase meta. Honestly killing stealth and forcing the chase meta is one of the worst things to happen this game. As a controller player I can't hug loops tight so I doubt I'll ever be a great looper. BHVR is basically giving me the middle finger.
-
Spirit does not need headphones to play. She is better with headphones, but she does NOT need them. I play Spirit on my TV with no headphones and don't have a problem.
-
I just hook people. Unless you're worried about flashlights or pallet saves there's no real reason not to hook IMO. It's not that big a deal if a survivor has DS. I honestly called DS a troll perk because it gets trolling survivors killed more than it helps them.

Shadow Step and A Place For Us are both very good against Judgement on aura reading, if you're looking for perks to try out to counter those builds specifically. Inner Strength is also quite good against both the aura build and as a solid payoff against her more totem focused playstyle. While not necessarily a counter in the traditional sense, Object of Obsession also lets you very quickly figure out what aura reading she's on and hit her with an "I'm getting my aura revealed? No, WE'RE getting our aura revealed" playstyle that is surprisingly strong against her given how slow she is to actually traverse the map. We See You can also be decent payoff, but can really backfire if she's on Deerstalker, so be careful on that one.
I've tried boons against the Judgement. I thought expo would be good. It just ended up with her sniping at me. Because I'm assuming a lot of Judgements are running Undying. And honestly, they make boons so loud and easy to find that it's only a matter of time before your boon is snuffed out.
-
She may be fun to play, but she's miserable to go against. I bet those long ranged snipes feel good. But dodging them? Boring, oppressive, and repetitive.
-
Unpopular opinion, but I'm gonna say Judgement's condemned world (or whatever it's called) is a mistake. The fact that it bypasses so many perks that trigger after an unhook is bad. It's been awhile since I played PP Head, so I can't say if his cages bypass the same perks as Judgement's world, but if they did I wouldn't agree with it.
-
I read diminishing returns doesn't work on four slowdowns. Like what? Isn't that what diminishing returns is for?
-
Judgement might become S tier if they make her easier to play. I've already gone up against competent Judgements with aura reading builds. Imagine how oppressive she'd be if she was easier.
-
She's just to hard to use for the average player. This is kinda BHVR's fault. Look at the killers they've been releasing. Dracula, Jason, Ghoul, Krause, etc. They conditioned players to think killers should be strong and easy to use.
-
He’s S Tier to me. He still has the best mobility in the game and he gets a free injure. People keep talking about “the nerfs”. Well I can’t tell exactly what they nerfed because he feels the same as on release.

Because SB is insane?
It's a nerf long comin and very much justified. And i say that as a nonstop SB user for the last years.
Insane? I see we're getting our talking points from the content creators now. SB was a solid good, but nothing so over the top in needed to nerfed. Did it really bother killers that much just to put in a little effort? Anyways, 40 seconds of exhaustion for 2 seconds of haste makes a trash perk. At least Drama gave you a chance at something extra.

Feel like the idea behind survivor perks to be extremely situational and niche so anything that has consistent value will be constantly nerfed.
I sure most of already noticed new perks do X and Y and Z , and the reward less than the effort and usually once per game or only for few seconds, everything designed around top 1% SWF, what if they use it
I love the boon that's worse than Deja Vu. :)

@Crowman said:
We don't need to give compensation buffs for things that get nerfed in the same way buffs do not need compensation nerfs.
Sprint Burst was the best exhaustion perk by a mile because it provided the same value as other exhaustion perks while not having a restriction of note. You always had it regardless of map or tile location. It deserved the nerf it got.
We do. It's called balance. In what world is two seconds of haste worth 40 seconds of exhaustion?
-
You should say it in all caps. There are only a few killers that feel good to play on controller. Wraith, Skull Merchant, Ghostface, Hag and Trapper are all I can really think of.
-
That would explain why I didn't get trophies for doing the Aurora adept. Sony is so behind the times.
-
This is a big reach. People have reasons for not playing those killers and it's not Vigil. People hate Clown because he's ugly. Seriously he looks repulsive. Even when they overtuned Clown's yellow bottles no one was playing him. Then there's just Freddy who BHVR has never been able to figure out. He's just a boring killer and his rework was a massive failure. Vigil ain't the reason people aren't playing these killers.
-
Unlike the Ghoul and Dracula and Jason, The Judgement is actually pretty too hard to use. So she has a high skill floor and a high skill ceiling. We'll probably be seeing more bad Judgement players since she just released. But once you go against a good Judgement you'll know how oppressive this killer can be. I truly think this is the first hard to use killer BHVR has released since Blight.
