Why can't Pyramid Head Torment survivors with his M2, but Judgement can inflict Heresy?

For real, when Pyramid Head's rework was on PTB, he could inflict Torment with his damaging ability, Punishment of the Damned, allowing him to cage any survivor that was hit with his M2 during chase and deny them anti-tunnel perks and any other perks that trigger uppon being hooked or unhooked. That was considered overpowered and nerfed when he went live. At the time I didn't mind, but…

Well, the Judgement can do just that. Its main way of inflicting Heresy is hitting survivors with its Divine Light, allowing it to exile survivors and deny them the same perks as Cages do. Why? The Judgement's power is already stronger in pretty much every way:

Divine Light can hit survivors across the map, Punishment can't.

Divine Light can be made to be undogeable if you time it right. With Punishment, that requires a mistake from the survivor.

Torment's only uses are caging survivors and making them a tiny bit easier to track around objects (a very minor effect). Heresy straight up inflicts an effect very similar to Old Ruin.

The ONLY advantage Torment has on Heresy is that it's harder to cleanse. But that doesn't matter when Heresy is so much easier to inflict back.

So how can that possibly be considered "too powerful" on PH but not on the Judgement? That feels like a contradiction.

  • Simple: Back when this change got tested on PTB it got reverted because it would have been too strong as back then, cages did not have unhook protections.

Now they do, and I see no reason why it should not apply Torment on ability hits.

  • Streamers complained about it then got removed before added to the game.

    Its always streamers ruining everything

Yeah, I mean now that the game is significantly faster than it was 6 years ago we can definitely have it this, especially since Pyramid Heads main weakness is the fact that he's so slow and this would help out a ton. (Especially since he's been powercrept quite a bit by Artist n Judgment

  • Unpopular opinion, but I'm gonna say Judgement's condemned world (or whatever it's called) is a mistake. The fact that it bypasses so many perks that trigger after an unhook is bad. It's been awhile since I played PP Head, so I can't say if his cages bypass the same perks as Judgement's world, but if they did I wouldn't agree with it.

  • Well survivors are able to remove Heresy without needing to rescue survivors from exile unlike PH who survivors can only remove torment by performing rescues on caged survivors.

The other thing is that Judgement cannot camp survivors who are in exile and a survivor rescues all exiled survivors with 1 interaction. PH cages spawns are easy to learn and survivors have to rescue caged survivors from the front so it makes it much easier for PH to camp cages even with the teleport mechanic.

  • I'm just going to say it outright I don't like the new community killer The Judgment. Sorry guys.

Hate to disagree but Judgment can pretty easily camp the shrines for exiled survivors, its like incredibly easy to do a quick 360° turn and instantly find the two closest shrines. Also camping on PH is significantly worse than Judgment as you have to actively walk across the map to do so. Friendly reminder that you are actively hurting yourself by sending multiple survivors to Judgment as it takes significantly longer to save a survivor on hook, then a survivor that is being camped on the shrines by Judgment.

  • Yh feels like PH should get torment when hitting his power. He's been straight up powercrept by judgement.

  • It's what I don't understand. Judgment is way harder and dominating mainly with aura builds, without aura she's not that crazy. Pyramid's power has half the cooldown, can be spammed close range and there is Henry "lucky dodge" counterplay. If you can torment with his m2 he would instantly become S tier, because he's already very strong yet not super popular.

As killer I would actually love it. But do you want Pyramid Head to be able to completely bypass hooking when he's way more lethal in chase than Judgment?

  • Because PH's M2 is way easier than Judgement's one. Simple as that.
