I have never seen any evidence that the people at BHVR don't play their own game. Maybe their just bad at balance. It happens. Look at some of the things famous content creators in DBD community think are balanced. Scott Jund thought old Pentimento was balanced and that survivors should just "git gud".

Moving the goal posts again. Ever think that perhaps the reason there are so few is because of this perk?
People don't like Clown cause he's ugly and people don't like Freddy cause his power is boring, not to mention he's kinda average. I've never seen anyone say Vigil was the reason they don't like these killers. Even when they overtuned Clowns yellow bottles and no one used the purple, people still weren't playing Clown.

A single perk slot that makes the killer's power go from gaining 3.6 seconds of distance every time they land it to 1.2 seconds of distance? Yeah i'd basically call that nearly a complete counter.
That's not to mention clown who is actually hurt by it even more.
Have you tried playing as freddy or clown against someone with vigil?
I'm sure all the non-existent Freddy and Clown mains are celebrating the Vigil nerf. Really why would you balance something around two of the least used killers in the game.
-
Survivors are at the weakest they've ever been. They're just fodder now. All these strong perks that people talk about survivors having are mostly situational or just have dozens of drawbacks like STB. Decisive strike is basically a troll perk at this point. People go out of their way to get value from it. Doing dumb crap like jumping in a locker is the only way most people get value from DS these days. And don't get me started on the useless pallet density update. Most of the pallets are so weak that the killer can just walk right by them if he respects. The meat factory is basically the only map in the game with decent pallet placement.
-
The only helpful advice I can think of is to watch survivor streamers and check out their youtube videos. See how they loop and what perks they use. Mish is one of the best. There's also Ayrun and Hens.
-
It's hard to feel bad for killer mains. Y'all loved the streamers when they got sprint burst, cross examination, and vigil nerfed. Loved them when they got anti-tunneling and slugging killed. Reap what you sow.

I kinda miss TCM. With proper, dedicated support, I wager it could have seriously competed with DBD.
I feel like TCM could have competed with DBD if it wasn't so grindy. Like god dang, TCM was way more grindy than DBD.

Can someone tell me why a huge pillar of light shouldn't be visible from far away?
-
If what I'm hearing is true, the fact that the Judgement is hard to play may be its demise. BHVR has conditioned their killer base to expect easy to play A tier killers and it doesn't sound like that's Judgement. The stuff around the nerfs is just noise. People need something to be upset about it.
-
If you're gonna buff Trapper then make Iri Stone basekit. It would definitely make him stronger than starting with all his traps.
-
It feels like the grind is getting worse and worse. Chasing new players off. I just wanted to play killer and it took me two million BP just to get one pink addon. Who the heck is designing this?
-
I think it should be a choice. I'm not convinced it's a buff. I use the iri stone then just move the traps as needed. Really you should trying using the trapper sack and see how much time you spend setting up traps.
-
This game is bleeding survivors so BHVR has decided to nerf survivors even more. Really this game is miserable as survivor. Even worst if you're playing solo. It's only fun for SWFS. I don't know how killer mains can in good faith make those youtube videos about how "survivor sided" this game is.
-
Sad thing is none of that stuff you listed sounds out of the ordinary for the Solo Q experience. Survivors hiding? That's the norm.
-
I thought the range nerf was fine. What is it 26 meters? Meaning you don’t have to be anywhere near a gen to be seen by it. Isn’t this a perk for finding people near gens? Why does it have a little under the same range as bond?
-
Not only does he have a projectile, he has the best projectile in the game. It's a good thing the baby killers are still learning to aim with him. Because his spears are definitely better than Huntress' hatchets.
-
I think BHVR just hates zoning killers. Both Hag and Skull Merchant left to die.

DbD is still riding high from its greatest player peak ever from the Jason release. There is no shortage of players so something else has to explain the queue times.
The que times speak for themself. They aren't bringing in enough new players. Bringing in licensed characters does give them the occasional stimi, but we see that doesn't last long.
-
Lobby dodging is not what's creating 30 minutes ques. People need to stop trying to point the finger and just admit the game has a serious shortage of players. This is what happens when you let content creators with terrible takes do the balancing.
-
I never did understand why they made Sprint Burst on command. What purpose does that serve? Instead of limiting classes to two I think they should just make the Escapist class how it originally was.
-
End endgame chat? Man I couldn’t imagine. You PC gamers are so lucky to even have the option. But I don’t know how common toxicity is. They have a shared chat on Helldivers 2 and no one ever says anything toxic. Actually people rarely even talk.
-
They're nerfing Sprint Burst. That's their idea of buffing low tier killers.

Dbd too big to fail and has monopoly in the horror asymmetrical niche, no game has any odds to challenge it. So as long as the devs dont make a catastrophic mistake like new mmr system that kill of new or casual playerbase or stop getting new licenses etc, the game likely survive another 5 years easily.
The only way to die if a new dbd 2 made by the devs so the old core is abandoned. This probably will happen as dbd foundation code wise is very flawed and likely will give out in the future or playerbase starts to fail and need a rejuvenation project.
Anyway in 3-5 years the game future likely secure.
Later could be a new one
Is it that DBD is too big to fail or the fact that there hasn’t been anything to challenge it? Cause I think DBD is at it’s most vulnerable. They are bleeding players and they continue to listen to content creators who have terrible takes. If the right game comes along they’re in trouble.
-
Killer is much easier than survivor that’s for sure. Dbd hasn’t been survivor sided since 2022 and yet we got people talking about how easy it is for survivors. They have no idea how miserable the survivor experience is now. This definitely ain’t the days of Old Dead Hard.
-
Is that why Otz is whining about Judgement? He’s gotten used to killers being 4.6, having ranged attacks or map mobility.
-
Does anyone even use Wesker's pallet vaulting? Feels like it's faster to just go around them.
-
The Doctor was part of the CIA. I know it's not quite the military, but they work hand in hand.
-
I agree comms aren't what makes SWFs great. Just based on the escape rates SWFs don't win that much more than soloq. I just think if four players are in a gaming group together there's a good chance they're good players who can loop. But I'm not complaining about some form of comms. I'll take anything I can get to make solo q easier.
-
I feel like none of this would be a big deal if bots weren't programmed to be brain damaged. But it is what it is. Still I don't think players should be forced to play a match if they're not having fun.
-
My opinion? Stop trying to force people to play games when they clearly aren't having fun. Don't force a killer to play with a bully squad. Don't force a survivor to play with a killer tunneling and slugging at 5 gens. Anti-quit was supposed to make the game "better", but in reality all it does is make people miserable.
-
BHVR is way too inconsistent with what information they decide to let into the game mode. I feel like things such as killer instinct and killers that get information easily like Doctor, Legion, and Jason ruin the point of lights out mode.
-
Faster repair speed I don’t really get. Maybe it’s to make up for the lack of perks? I’m biased towards the survivor side, but even I can admit that’s a baffling choice.
-
I’ve seen a lot of complaining about Windows. Haven’t seen those same people complaining about Killer Instinct or Jasons built in information. Killers have a lot of handicaps too if we’re being fair.
-
You wanna keep DBD alive, don't you? Maybe it's not such a good idea to have one of the most annoying killers (Legion) with one of the most annoying builds (Thana+Dying Light+etc). Even with thana nerfed Legion and Plague are still two of the most annoying to go against because you know the killer is going to be most likely running an annoying slow down build. Plus they're just bad to face period. Plague is one of the few killers in the game where using the proper counter play hurts you for some reason.
-
It was nerfed into the ground even before it released. It's amazing that people are still complaining about this perk when it's trash. Why the scream? Why the exposed? Why the yellow mark? BHVR wants everyone to know who shouldered so killers can then proceed to tunnel that person out the game. They went out of their to put unnecessary limitations on this perk.
-
They nerfed all the items. What’s even the point of bringing Franklins? Just for flashlights? You might as well bring Lightborn. Besides current Franklins is closer to how original Franklins worked. It didn’t use to drain your chargers to empty.
-
They already opened up the floodgates by nerfing Sprint Burst. I don’t see how you can have one exhaustion perk being so inferior to the others.
-

Except Third Seal isn't like old knock out because 1. It's a hex and 2. Unless everyone is effected by it it can't really be used for slugging.
Something tells me your team massively screwed up if the killer got that much slugging value out of it.
All you have to do is hit a person one time for it to activate. With lethal and current survivor spawning logic? It's easy to get third seal on everyone. .Besides this was solo q. I never had a chance.
-
Jason might kill 2v8. I mean, I feel like it's already pretty stale, but Jason would probably be the death of it.

this is just untrue. Windows is just a perfect perk. there are many perks just as good.
Windows is the survivor equivalent of light born. I loop just fine with out. The only reason I use it is because their really aren’t that many good survivor perks.
-
People only use windows because there’s nothing else. I was using Cross Examination until BHVR killed that perk dead. Now it’s right back to windows.
-
Well they've already nerfed it, but I used Streetwise for my sabo builds. And I don't believe they nerfed it for balance reasons, I think they were too lazy to fix a bug.
-
Actually with Ghoul in his current state, SB and Vigil do nothing to him. He laughs at that perk and most top tier killers are only slightly inconvenienced by it. BHVR thinks a nerf to sprint burst will make more bottom tier killers viable, but all I think they did was make it easier for the top tier.
-
Let’s be honest, no one cares that it affects killer inflicted status effects. People only care that it gives survivors quicker access to their sprint burst.
Besides how is Vigil any different from Lightborn in the sense that it counters a bunch of items and perks? Should they rework Lightborn? -

It sure doesn't help that what's 'busted' or 'overpowered' is completely subjective. For example, of course Killers would believe that Shoulder the Burden is "busted/overpowered," but Survivors would think it's trash.
It's crazy people are still complaining about STB after BHVR nerfed it into the ground. It's basically a "please kill me" perk.
-
Killers are eating good and they're still complaining about minor debuffs to NoWhere to Hide. I always thought it was weird that perk had a little under the same range as bond. It was supposed to be a perk for finding people near gens yet you didn't even have to be near a gen to have your aura revealed by it.
-
Honestly who can say. Sometimes I’ll get downvoted for posting the same opinion that just got upvoted. This forum is fickle.
-
BHVR nerfing endurance length is just another solo Q nerf. Normal people are being punished for something SWFs are doing.

There’s a good reason that sprint burst and vigil are so common - they’re two of the best survivor perks in the game. I started using both a while ago and chases became significantly easier with these perks equipped. Although I’ll be sad that they’re not as strong for my preferred build, I understand the need to adjust the strongest and most commonly used perks. The same should done for the strongest killer perks. Anyone who is complaining about a stale meta should be fine with this.
It’s not that Vigil and SB are super strong, it’s more like survivors have nothing else to use. You know things are bad when 5 moves ahead is considered meta.
-
Survivors are expected to "get better" and use their senses when the killer has undetectable. They straight up lobotomize a perk when the survivor gets elusive. That seem fair?
