How is Third Seal different from old Knockout? Shouldn’t they look at this?

I had a killer that used third seal to slug and I thought this is just like Old Knockout, a perk that got reworked because BHVR agreed it was bad for the health of the game. Kinda crazy Third Seal hasn’t been reworked yet.

  • If anything, it's something they should look at with Blindness in general. It's not a Third Seal-exclusive issue and that perk has other uses too that aren't just for slugging, unlike old Knock Out

  • Because Third Seal is a hex meaning can be taken out the match unlike old knock out. And even then, it requires an M1 to blind one survivor at a time. Its honestly fine even if a bit underpowered.

You can use m2 after they buffed it to work with those

  • First knock out has harder requirement and then knock out worked on every slug, second its totem so it can be destroyed and last thing is third seal is super rare to face because its not that equiped often.

  • huh really. Goes to show how un popular this perk is that even when slugging was deemed to be first gaining popularity this was just not seen even post knock out nerf.

  • I don't even understand why Blindness is even allowed. It's solely an anti-soloq status.

Yeah, I remember seeing a video of someone using it on Trickster. 1 knife hit is enough to trigger.

the third seal is a slept on perk that is a mainstay in my builds, its value just isnt overtly visible to you

Only against soloq, any swf form even duo has tools to break through it and thats why that perk isnt hat great.

Like 40% of survivors play in swf I believe duos the most of times and that makes this perk not so viable just ruin, blood favor, noed and other hex perks beat it but it not so bad perk kinda gold mid of hexes I would say (the third seal) it can be handy if survivors are in bad state like someone is sluged or hooked especialy multiple people but thats it if you dont have such great situation and you dont have pure soloq against you then this perk offers not that much.

Still not worst perk and worth of title of hex even after so long time.

  • Third seal needs to be renamed to hex: solo stomper.

It isn't gonna do anything to a SWF but you breaking kneecaps of soloq. I do think it needs some changes so its not a perk that is only there to be soloq stomper.

because it's a hex and it's not worth running when it can be destroyed in the first 30 sec due to rng

  • Knockout made it so others couldn't see your aura. Third seal is you can't see auras until your totem is broken.

    Fundamentally different.

Besides, knockout was changed because a streamer showcased slugging with it, and of coarse all their zombie followers had to copy it. You know, like how anything gets nerfed. Nothing was truely wrong with the perk. It was guilt by association.

Now, Knockout's effect makes zero sense to it's namesake and icon.

  • Except Third Seal isn't like old knock out because 1. It's a hex and 2. Unless everyone is effected by it it can't really be used for slugging.

Something tells me your team massively screwed up if the killer got that much slugging value out of it.

All you have to do is hit a person one time for it to activate. With lethal and current survivor spawning logic? It's easy to get third seal on everyone. .Besides this was solo q. I never had a chance.

Then we need to make it affect SWF we need discord integration so when you get the status affect it deafens the VC your in

How would you expect BHVR to even program that.

I cant think of any other game that deafens your discord mic on demand due to a in game effects.

There are games that have in voice systems that can do similar (eg proximity chat) but none are integrated with discord where it can force deafen people.

Also could people not just use another program like teamspeak to totally avoid?

  • Its different to knockout because it works on all aura reading, and doesn't affect crawl speed or recovery - plus you need to apply it first, and its a hex. Knockout was way, WAY more of an issue, even compared to people trying to slug specifically with third seal. Windows is the most popular survivor perk in the game across almost all regions, and there are a decent few other perks that aura read from the survivor side that see play, so theres a real benefit to having blindness as an option to commit to.

Yeah but Third Seal is not used to stop survivors seeing windows, it is used so they can't see their teammates on the ground or on the hook, leading to everyone dying pretty quickly in solo queue. If they reduce it so that it is only the last 3 survivors instead of 4, it would be much better.

Its not really good for hiding hooks even in solo queue, in the vast majority of cases the hook bubble is more than enough to be able to remember where someone is on the map regardless of if you're affected by Third Seal or not. The usefulness in slugging is definitely true, but most of the time mass slugging is more powerful just committing to lethality and information anyways, and Third Seal is removable from the start of the match. It would be a lot better for blindness to just not affect slugs than to nerf a perk that isn't strong enough to warrant it.

This might be true for experienced players who know to pay attention to the hook location, but the aura is there for a reason. I've died on first hook a number of times when this perk was in play in solo queue. Thankfully it is not used too much, it's a nasty perk.

  • I think it's one of the unhealthiest perks in the game too. In general, I dislike perks that are a middle finger to Solo Q players.

Sometimes I'll get this perk in Chaos Shuffle as Killer and wonder why the team is letting their teammates go second or die on hook, only to realise it's because of this perk.

  • You people have told killers for years to just "break the pallet" Are you ready for some of your own medicine?

Just break the totem. How does it taste? That's what I thought.
