Jason's omnipresent evil is really boring to go against. I don't even know what's the point of a PTB if they're going to release killers in this state.
-
All killer mains are going to want a rework for their favorite killer after watching Jason do everything better than their main. Teleports better than Springtrap and Dredge. Better projectile than Huntress. Better at defending totems than everyone. Also better at gathering information than everyone. Jason embodies power creep.
-
We gotta stop pretending these are the olden days where Dead Hard ruled the meta. Now survivors gotta work harder than killers for wins. Look at the win rates. BHVR balances to make sure killers are winning 50%-60% of the time.
-
And the worst part is BHVR is afraid to make strong new perks in place of the nerfed perks. Crazy that the top 5 used perks for survivors are basically the ones that were there when the game was released. Deja Vu, Windows, SB, Lithe, Breaks. Like dang the meta hasn't changed in almost 10 years.
-
Distortion. That was the final death blow for stealth. BHVR trying to force the chase meta is honestly one of the worst things to happen to the game.
-
I used to support less pallets, but tbh, survivors need something to keep up with the killer power creep.

Who is running Coulrophobia?
The guy who went on a 1000+ game win streak with Blight. He's pretty good. But seriously, I have noticed more killers running that perk. I think Momoseventh inspired a lot of people.

Scott also said he’s a new killer and all new killers overperform for a while
I don't remember this being the case until BHVR starting adding more to killers release kits. Springtrap is really the only recent killer we've gotten that was released in a balanced state.

He will 100% get nerfed. It might not be a huge a nerf but it will happen. Otz and his hardcore group are getting dunked on by random Jasons repeatedly. These are players who each have 10k hours. If a full four man is losing this much against Jason then what do you think is happening to the average player? I guarantee you his kill rate is astronomical at the moment.
I think the nerfs would be justified. I saw Scott Jund saying that he has a higher kill rate than most killers and that's not surprising. He has information, mobility, built in haste, and a ranged attack. He's a complete killer. Defiinitely A tier. I feel like the only thing that stops him from being S tier is his 4.4 movement.
-
I think omni-present evil mode is not fun. He gets too much information for doing nothing. I saw people comparing him to Wraith in my other thread. Well, Wraith has to use an add-on to see your aura while in power. Jason has aura reading built into his kit. And I see why pallet density is a thing. I As long as killer power creep exists survivors need something to keep up.

This is the problem Jason is pretty much our Sombra. For anyone who doesn't play overwatch Sombra is the invisible hack character, and has always been on the weaker B side. But is so unbelievably boring and obnoxious to go against that she's still one of the most banned characters in game and is on her way to her 4th rework. Jason shares near all the same elements of requiring way more effort to play against as opposed to playing.
This is perfectly said. Jason may be an average killer (B tier?). But games against him are long and slow. And of course he encourages boring crouch walking. It's just not fun.
-
@GorgonExe said:
Crouch. Crouch is the counter. No killer instinct, no screaming, no revealing yourself in red, no footsteps, nothing.
That's all you have to do. He can't do anything in omni presence.
Did you not read? Jason can stay in his power indefinitely. You're gonna be crouching for an unknown amount of time. You also can't contribute to the match while you're crouching. You're going to be doing nothing to help your team. It's basically ratting with extra steps. Is this why so many streamers I've watched win on 4 or 5 gens with Jason? Is it because survivors like you are crouch walking around edgemap?

You're right. We should really nerf vault and pallet density. Previously people downvoted anyone pointing out that there were too many. I'm thrilled to see we're beginning to see that the density of these interaction points is problematically dense and frequent.
It really doesn't matter to me if they remove those pallets. Most of those pallets I wouldn't even use because they're so unsafe.
-
@drag27 said:
sry but theres nothing broken about O-P's duration. he can stay in O-P indefinitely, so what? its not like he can emerge on top of you, it has to be on a pallet, window, or breakable wall.
”It’s not like he can emerge on top of you”. Most gens are near pallets, most hooks are also near vaults and pallets.

This. Its duration has little to do with the balance, as while the duration lasts, Jason is not actively performing his objectives. Why would duration particularly matter? I would say cooldown could maybe be larger, but duration being indefinite only makes sense to me.
What? Of course the duration matters. As long as the power is active Jason is either getting free information or survivors or crouch walking. Both great results for Jason.
-
Why does his omni-present evil last forever? It'd be like if Spirit could phasewalk forever. I find it miserable to go against.

Why are all these spam posts new accounts.
Jason is bringing in new fans. Also he's so miserable to go against people can't help but complain.

The HUD gives you info. So do perks. Open VC won't help any more. It would be nothing but yelling, blaming, and insults. Bad players will still be bad, and people would elect themselves leader. No amount of talking will make randoms care about one another either. It's not hard to find people to play with and use Discord, and that way you get to choose who you want to interact with. I also prefer having two different experiences available. I can play with friends or have a more mysterious, quieter solo match. I wouldn't want that to go away.
The hud doesn't tell you when you're close to a three gen. Being three gen'd is something that happens in solo q all the time. You also won't be able to maximize your efficeny when it comes to getting rescues. For some reason BHVR decided Kindred should only work for the person running it. There are just lots of little things that swfs can communicate while solo q struggles.

BHVR have explicitly said that they encourage in-game communication with 3rd party apps. You’re jus using this as an excuse to needlessly stir up “us vs them” divisiveness
BHVR can say whatever they want, but their actions speak louder than words. They support 3rd party apps because they know they're helpless to stop people from using them. But if you really want survivors communicating then why not have in-game voice chat? It's a balance choice.
-
@Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

The lack of in-game comms has nothing to do with this and there’s no reason to make this an “us vs them” issue when it’s not.
It's not an us vs them. BHVR goes outta their way to keep solo que nerfed. Trust me, I play killer. But tbh you don't even have to play killer to notice how BHVR neglects solo q. The only logical conclusion is that it's a balance choice.

I genuinely want to know who hurt you that makes this your default response to this kind of question.
Well that's the answer. There is no voice chat to make the game easier for killers. BHVR doesn't want coridinated teams.
-
To make the game artificially easier for killer mains. So when killer mains whine about "hand holding" make sure to remind them of this.
-
I think he's strong. I think omni-present evil encourages tunneling. For real, Jason's power is really good for tunneling. The "punishment" for vaulting (or teleporting) in anti-camp range is worth eating if you really wanna tunnel.
-
And now we see why this was needed. Jason is already good at tunneling. Just imagine if he didn't have this nerf.
-
Why are people freaking out over the PTB? The point of the PTB is to test thing.
-
I think Small Game should be nerfed.
-
No cause most perks are useless or overrated. Even the so called "meta" perks are highly overrated. Both sides freak out whenever a K/S gets a true meta perk so we're forever stuck with mediocre perks.
-
This game values queue times over everything. I'm not sure MMR even exists.
-
One thing I don't understand is the Springtrap comparisons. I know I'm not the only one who remembers when people comparing Springtrap to Huntress and Ghoul to Legion. And they all turned out to be completely different killers. Like can people wait until the characters are out before they start making these comps.
-
I feel your pain. It's why I always bring kindred. As for why no basekit bond, honestly, I think it's too good to be free.
-
Comparing Jason to one of the most oppressive killers in DbD history? If he’s anything close to OG Krasue then he should be nerfed. And no it is absolutely not possible to understate how overtuned Krasue was at release. It’s crazy how most people still put her in A tier despite the numerous nerfs.
-
Can we wait for the killer to be released before we start making comparisions? Cause I remember when Springtrap was just "power crept" Huntress and they turned out to be completely different killers. Also shout out to all the gamers who were saying Ghoul is just a powered up Legion.
-
People are always polite whenever I use the chat on HellDivers 2. I've never had any problems with toxicity. Honestly, some PC gamers like to gas themselves up, but I think the PC community is easily the most toxic out of PS5/XBOX/Switch. Like whenever I browse the Steam forums it's just people whining about "wokeness".
-
Sadako is the killer that most desperately needs a rework. All she has going for her is teleporting, which isn't that great. I honestly feel that she's the weakest killer in the game. It's definitely between her and Skull Merchant for title of the worst.

it doesnt remove charges now??? when did that change?
The perk didn't reduce charges when it was first released. They just undid a buff.
-
Well Freddy is pretty boring, no offense to Freddy mains. He just doesn't have enough in his kit. Sadako is just too weak. People hating on my boy trapper, but I think he has great snowball potential. Sadako has almost nothing going on for herself.
-
It's big. That's really all the map has going it for as a survivor player. So it's good for gen spacing, but actual loops are not good.
-
@TTV_Jamaicanking said:
The oni was the problem not legion. 2 vs 8 have not been the same since they took him out. I would rather have him in the game than oni. one or two cuts he's already in his power. it doesn't matter who you pair him with, he still will get his power. 2 vs 8 is dying. Chucky is not saving 2 vs 8 at all. the only killers that are in 2 vs 8 are killers that survivors can easily loop.
Legion kinda is a problem. The Legion meta in 1v4 is just don't heal. Well, you can't do that in 2v8 because you have a second killer to compensate for Legion's struggle to down survivors. It broke 2v8s balance. Legion got his free injuries and then the second killer would go around getting easy downs. It's not just Legion and Oni that was a problem. Legion paired with basically any killer (except maybe Ghost Face) was really good.
-
@RizeKagune said:
Legion is extremely un-fun in 2v8 regardless of what Killer he's paired with. With 8 survivors it's just endless non stop mending simulator.
I don't even think the mending is that big of a deal. It's the fact that his main weakness is completely nullified by having a second killer.

Castlevania as a franchise is classified as gothic horror. Something not excluded from the 2D games in the series, since those are also horror theme'd.
D&D is literally whatever people want it to be. It's a tool for storytelling, which people can use to tell any kind of story, within any genre, which includes horror.
People are allowed to not want Star Wars in the game if they don't want it. This isn't a black and white ''If you accept one thing, you must accept everything'' thing.
”Gothic Horror”
You can really tell who has played Castlevania and who is just repeating google AI. There is nothing horror about Castlevania.
-
I'm actually getting downvoted for saying Castlevania isn't a horror game when the game itself is labeled as an Adventurer/2D platformer. That's literally what it says on the digital stores lol. Like I said, it's just bias against Star Wars. I don't even like Star Wars, but if you're gonna accept Castlevania and Tomb Raider then don't try to gatekeep Star Wars. DnD is literally in this game for goodness sake.
-
I mean, I don't even know why people are holding to the idea that DBD is a horror game. I feel like they've moved so far away from horror. They've already let so many non-horror franchises into DBD. Eventually people will accept Star Wars the way they accepted Castlevania and Tomb Raider. And lets not even talk about the fact that the most popular killer in the game isn't even from a horror franchise (Ghoul).
-
I feel like there's just a bias against Star Wars. Because there is no way you seriously think Castlevania and Tomb Raider belong in the game, but Star Wars doesn't. I played Castlevania on my Gameboy Color. It was marketed towards kids. Know why? Cause it wasn't a horror game. No matter how much you try to claim it is, it has never been a horror game.

Cage is a well known horror actor and a gag license so I'll concede there. Lara Croft from the remake trilogy is specifically Lara at her most Survival Horror. The same game has a Legendary character from Rainbow Six so Lara at her weakest is A-OK.
Castlevania is horror adventure. It is literally about Dracula and a bloodline of vampire hunters. Does it have to be a jumpscare horror game to get a pass? Castlevania gave us by the far the best interpretation of Vlad we could've gotten so I'll hear no nonsense about it not fitting.
I was playing the Castlevania games as a six year old. They're not scary. They're adventure games first. There is no horror. My point is BHVR has already opened the floodgates. So what's the point of gatekeeping?
-
Vader fits more into DBD than Nick Cage, Lara Croft, and Castlevania. BHVR has let plenty of non-horror franchises into the game. Make me understand the sudden gate keeping.
-
Why not just let us see our teammates perks in the lobby? Seems less useful to see perks once the game has already started.
-
Good thing everyone plays torchbearer and escapist
-
Survivor perks in general are just bad. I think it says a lot about how weak survivor perks are when WOO is by far the most used. And all the complaining killer mains do about DS and Breaks only for them to not even be in the top ten.
-
I hate 2v8 for survivors and killers. Killers have no slowdown. And on the survivor side, now that BHVR added the stupid torchbearer class I have to deal with half my team trying to get flashlight saves instead of doing anything meaningful. Also the cage spawns are horrible. Most of the time you'll spawn on the other side of a map, far away from where any people are. Makes it a pain just to get rescued.

I don't given in to stories. I tell the truth.
Okay, sir. I think you're just really, really, really, really, bad at this game. Getting a four k despite playing a bad game should be a common experience for any killer. But it seems like you're very bad at DbD.
