@Mandy Another thing to have you think about: Ive never seen any serious game developer nor anyone else that has managed a forum with such a big amount of threads needed, saying that giving feedback in Discord could workout better. Discord within its own structure is completely unsuited for multilevel/in-depth discussions on thousands of different topics. I want you to show me those trends indicating that Discord would be a proper place for such a kind of feedback and interaction between community members. Just because you drive people into Discord, it doesnt have anything to do with suitablitiy for discussions. The Discord right know is more than proof for this. You cannot discuss anything properly there, not even mentioning the high numbers of memers, trolls and haters you will never ever be able to manage properly, escpeically with how you handled the forums lately.

Where and what?
You are assuming it would have absolutely no change whatsoever.
But still would it have a negative effect on the game if they made this change?
If there is no negative effect to the change, why not try it?
I never said I am against it, but if instead of making trivial changes (even though they already do them on their own) they could do something useful instead.
-
Play her for 1 hour a day and within a month youre good enough to stop the average survivor team. Its basically just muscle memory.
-
PTBs already have no real deal. Despite playing in before, there is most likely no usefullness, as everyone with decent gamesense can deduce how certain changes will work out. Also, feedback literally has not much influence on the outcome, as they dont even take the time to make proeper changes if needed, they are too fixated on holding their scedule.
-
There is no way denying that having a good outcome is easier on killer than on survivor. Still most of ALL players are bad, and with the actual matchmaking esp. survivor players getting better at the game is a harder task.

I disagree. Some killers play under the assumption that they haven't won unless they kill everyone because the game doesn't tell them they won. This suggested change would help with that.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4119450#Comment_4119450
As far as the game itself, you're right nothing changes except a few words. But I think it would have an effect on player behaviours. The effect might be small, but it would be positive. Just because it might not change your behaviour doesn't mean it wouldn't change someone else's.

I don't understand why people are against this and are downvoting it. Seriously what would be the downside to implementing this?
People told killer players an infinte of times certain things and nothing changed. Theyre just too biased to have ALL survivors killed no matter why and how. It doesnt matter to them if 3 is enough or not.

bad enough?
just you not use it well, not the perk is bad.
Then explain to me how the perk ITSELF should be used. You do not understand how the whole build even works, but still crave for a nerf on a perk that isnt an issue at all here, and is commonly acknowledged to be not a good perk.
-
The first nail in the coffin. And just another prime example on how BHVR is (not) taking care of their community feedback.
Edit: And just to make you think a little bit: ask your moderators, why there are less people on the forums. Banning veterans and new people left and right might be one big issue. Greetings to a certain mod.
-
Wont change anything at all.
-
The perk itself is already bad enough, why nerf it even more? Then perk isnt even the issue why the gen went fast. Abolutely unreasonable.
-
They will never go through with this limit, cause they would work against their own system.
-
Probably never, cause they already reworked it in their favor.

Ironically I got Judgement this morning, once again only went down once. I'm fully convinced a survivors playing with their brain off issue.
What a great foundation, making up an "opinion" on behalf of two games. The general concensus is that Judgement is far to oppressive right now. And its more than once elaborated why. So stop making hot takes without any proper arguments.
-
The perk was essentially just used by people who wanted to be a rat. An upcoming change was just a matter of time.
-
Imagine why you could hate a situation that is impossible to solve? Sigh.
-
It always comes down to how you play him. Had one recently, basically just running back and forth to a hooked survivor. Legitly the most boring way to play the killer for everyone.

Lol. Content creators start crying about Aura builds and suddenly the entire community hates aura perks. Many such cases.
Everyone with a tiny bit of gamesense says so. For ages.
-
Whoever thought that Judgement need to be buffed this way should get fired asap and pay compensation for all the worthless time people had to go through ccause of this killer.
-
Nobody knows, but from bhvrs history of how things work out its pretty much a 99% chance for "pretty good job so far".
-
The first and most problematic issue is that you are under the false impression that killers have to run 4 slowdowns.

Sorry to be that guy, but this is not how it works.

there was been a noticable decrease in skill checks occurence for months now. trust me, I've felt it, since I've been using specialist, and often I can't get a skill check for ages.
Yeah, I dont trust people that "feel" something, but have no valid evidence.

Poor 10k+ hours surviviors I went against… still on newbie mmr
So you still dont know that "time-played" doesnt mean youre good?
-
Nothing has changed the past month. They just broke skillchecks with the recent update somehow.
-
Dont even try to question the changes of bhvr. There is no reason to be found. Just accept the dice roll. People gave plenty of feedback during ptb and none of it got through to them.
-
Thats literally just illogical, especially as we dont even know if matchmaking does work right or even how matchmaking even works. Lobby dodging is only an issue if the matchmaking is not working properly. So instead of punishing lobby dodging, which has several reasonable explanations, they would need to fix up matchmaking.
-
There is no looping against a decent Judgement.
-
I havent encountered anything like this and also noone ive watched so far.

Exactly why the system doesn't focus on kills and escapes on its own anymore, your own progress in the match is counted heavily - so your own chases etc.
Then just give us information on what exactly influences the MMR. Telling us nothing clear doesnt help anyone. For gods sake stop being picky on MMR and just show us how it works. We havent seen any reasonable argument so far to hide it and make games worse for everyone.

My guy, no one's going to be checking lockers on the outskirts of the map unless it's to tunnel someone out.
Funny thing to say when this is actually standard game sense for decent killers.

Well in indoor maps you just listen when he starts to use his power you move away from the gen or do some random movements. Its not really that hard to avoid still.
Whats the point in making random movements if you dont even know from which direction the beam is coming? Its basically like playing against old Spirit. No counterplay at all. Also I feel like they made the delay to get off a gen even longer. So if you dont randomly look into the direction of the beam at the right moment its already too late to move.
-
Yeah sure, just reward a rotten playstyle that shouldnt even exist in the first place. Also you just cannot make survivors require anything team-related, cause no single survivor has the power to decide the team-outcome of this game.
Its just as it is and they wont change it ever, though nobody would complain if they would have eased up the requirements on killer.
-
Its absolutely irresponsible to have literally no transparancy at all on MMR while it is the determining factor for matchmaking and therefor completely responsible for how good our games will be. I dont want to get again into low-MMR-hell just because there is no way I can know what i have to do to avoid loosing MMR as long as my teammates are completely useless due to MMR reset.
Ive now played several games with people under 100h of playtime that cant loop a killer long enough so that the team has even a chance at escapes.

I actually LOVE this idea. Though I think taking into account the MMR of the player should also be considered IF (and this is a big if) the changes to MMR result in better players actually ending up in lobbies with similarily competent players. If MMR works properly This would give players more constant access to proper balanced matches where devs can look at and understand what skill level they are dealing with depending on the MMR.
Having killers and survivors comment on how it feels to play their role without worrying about people who aren't even playing that role muddying the waters means they will HOPEFULLY feel less need to defend their overtuned aspects from nerfs and more honest communication on anything overtuned and WHY something else need more work to fit with the game's balance.Playing the game at high mmr doesnt make you good at analyzing the games state. Those are two different things. Also you dont need to play killer to understand how powers work if you first hand experience how they work by playing against them. The only problem are people just playing killer cause they tend to get biased into a killer fantasy completly ignoring anything on the other side .
-
So we now again pretend the killer isnt strong though PTB showed otherwise. Okay. Same procedure as every update.
-
Playing against it is really boring though. Its literally just running open fiel to dodge. As soon as you move into clutter youre dead or zoned.

Did you even read it?, the buffs just don't make any difference but make it more survivor sided and more miserable for killers.
Think again.
-
@Craftlori said:
2v8 is survivor sided. That is not a opinion, it is a fact. For the normal mode it's unclear because both sides have unfair things to abuse but since there are no addons, perks or offerings in 2v8 it's pretty obvious which side has the advantages.
Since 2v8 will return in September and leakers already discovered that not only every class will have a item next time but also get a new item that unlocks the second ability faster and give a speedboost it will become even more survivor sided and the sad thing is it will change absolutely nothing about the queue times.
You could give Survivors in that mode a minigun that allows them to kill the killers and the Killer queue time would still be 30-45+ Minutes because it is the only mode where you can play with a friend on the killer side.
Yeah 2v8 is already in the game a bit but since it's limited it will never get normal queue times.
So you literally just want even longer queue times for killers?

What happened to the "Will only affect Exhaustion" info we got in the discord dev stream? Why are they saying suddenly a few days later "We will review the list of effects in an upcoming Bugfix patch"?
What the hell is there that has to be "reviewed"? One single perk shouldn't affect 8 different status effects and people are saying this since months. Especially not if killer powers get affected.
Maybe you should not just listen to the things you want to hear, but to every bit they said?
-
It was super hilarious to see people fall for an obvious joke. Just shows what this community is all about.

vigils time was coming. People are just upset that BHVRs actually doing their job. "what the heck they are actually nerfing meta!?" but what about OTHER SIDE!?" that's all it is.
at the top level all you do is split, pre run, call out and never commit to anything unless the killer does. It's just as boring as 4 man slug at 5 gens with Coulrophobia and that needs to go too.
there's nothing skillful about it it's just winning by sheer mathematics. Survivor mains despise me for being reasonable, but Vigil/SB aren't hills we as a community should be dying on. I can't believe people are actually outraged.
People called me crazy for wanting SB/Vigil nerfed over 150% WGLF but at least WGLF is a fun perk that encourages BP gains and not just being super safe and boring.
Nobody asked for another overkill.
-
Just to make things clear: you can never prevent cheating.

@Mandy said:
To be clear here, the Emblem system is not what we're going back to, its based around it…its not going to be a direct 1-1.
Of course. Why should you go the easy way if you can make it laborious?
-
Classical choice of development from BHVR. Doing something totally useless, that everbody agrred on being trash, but just pushing it through for no reason. Its actually a big wonder that they finally came to the conclusion to change it again. After several YEARS of everyones hatred. Still dont think they will go through with this. Would be too much of an acknowledgment that they screwed up big time.
-
Another perk being BHVRed. 🤐
-
I dont think youve played this game long enough if you think this is your conclusion.
-
@coldflame said:
this is not a sided issue, survivors also do this
But is has not the same effect, cause killers have priority on basicly every action. If youre playing with high ping as survivor it hurts yourself more than anything.

There are a multitude of disadvantages that comes with one team mate disabling the whole system.
Now yes you can argue some people will still not take advantage of system. but thats no reason to give people a toggle option for it that will make even less people take advantage of it.Tell me those mutltiple disadvantages. I am curious.

this is not a niche system. this is a system the devs have stated they are adding to try to bridge the information gap and have a easier time balancing killers, which it isn't going to do if they allow people to toggle it on and off.
As i stated sure let people turn it off, but they need to only be put into lobbies with others who want to toggle it off.So you just want to worsen the queue times again for such a trivial matter?
-
There is literally no disadvantage to have a toggle option on this. If anything it could be a advantage cause you dont fall for trolls. Also it doesnt really matter if you will have it or not, cause most times people do not understand the necessity of certain actions to be taken. You try to make it look like this would benefit this game heavily. I will tell you it wont. Same as in every other game. People there dont even do ehat you tell them by voicecomms, so what should a basic chatwheel accomplish?
