We keep asking, asking, asking for it and bhvr doesn't give any feedback on it...

I don't really get why if a pallet is strong it must be immediately addressed but if it's weak "that's okay, silly! Some pallets are just weak tee hee!!"
Like yeah it's not a game breaking issue but no pallet should be near useless.
Thats my opinion as well

Nope. Been playing since 2019, long enough to see the contagious toxicity plague the whole player base. It only has gotten worse, no better. I remember having nice conversations after matches with the opponent(s), frequent farming matches, funny moments, ect. But not anymore. Unicorn events these days
True, rly rare

Kinda just how it is, pallets range from "kick it or lose the game" to as you call them, basically cosmetic in most circumstances. But it's still a pallet so you can do stuff like try to go down under it in case there's someone nearby or you know there is, vault it while dropped for Lithe (as it's a very weak pallet that rarely gets kicked, the Lithe usage is one I've gotten to take advantage of quite a few times actually) and so on.
@Maelstrom808 said:
You have almost useless pallets and you have god pallets and everything in between. What's the issue? Want to get rid of all the terrible pallets, that's cool, but we get rid of the god pallets as well.
Yeah having a middle ground is best imo, only god pallet for shack or 1 per map would be more interesting for the future of the game, just would need to rework lots of maps tho and we know its not happening :x

That's because the killers (including me) always are bullied by high leveled survivors. These bully squads destroy any game fun, even much more than camping and tunneling killers. That's why we leave the lobby when we see survivors with more than 15 prestige, because we know...when we stay in there, it is gonna be a bully round where we have the fantasy to kill em in real life lol so everybody stop bullying the killer and we do not leave lobby when we see high leveled survs^^
Bro... Prestige 15 is not even high, if you focus on one character you can get that quite easily. People just put these limitations in their head for no reason
-
I mean, the game is already pay to win, idk why people get surprised like monetization in dbd is a new thing lol

Please....RPD does NOT need any more god-pallets.
Stop with the whataboutism please, no one is asking for god pallets in this post

RPD does not have many god pallets. Hell even the stairs pallet can be mindgamed if they drop it running down the stairs.
Ye, guy talking like RPD is The Game lol

Any pallet can be used to stun. Just because it can't be looped doesn't make it useless.
Sounds very beautiful in theory. In practice any killer with a brain will get you in that pallet because its way too short. Not to mention the killers with antiloop or projectiles.
-
Luckly it doesn't take skill to outplay him either, just hold W away to the next loop.

Maybe I'm "weird". I don't know. Sure, the forums would have you believe that solo q is unplayable and absolute hell for everyone. While it's not without its frustrations, I just don't feel this way.
There are some days that feels impossible to get a good match going, but other than that its usually fine. Still escape most of my games.
-
I would love to dbd to have any sort of beast as the killer, or a werewolf, something like that. Would be sick. Dredge was pretty unique, lets see whats coming in the future.
-
I don't see it happening, people would moan a lot. If they ever do it, will probably be in PTB server

I'm not so sure, personally. Trapper's simplicity is part of his charm, yes, but it's also a strength in that newer players have a simple, reliable, easy to understand killer to start out with. Even Wraith and Hillbilly, and especially Nurse, aren't quite as simple and easy to intuit as the Trapper is, imo. Not to say they're complicated at all once you know how the game works, but rather that specifically when you're first approaching it, there's nuance to those killers that Trapper doesn't really have. Doesn't require knowing how this game works to understand "put down bear trap, survivor gets trapped, hit survivor".
I think just buffing him a little more would be best. Help him manage his considerable downtime a little more, have his traps spawn closer and maybe remove them from Map tracking.
Wraith is better for beginners. New survivors tend to be scared and hide a lot, wraith can easily surprise and get free hits.

@Distortion_Enjoyer said:
he should be able to summon the traps to him from a distance rather than having to manually pick them up
@Stabby_Widdershins said:
Honestly, his traps should be invisible outside of 15 meters away, see-though/hard to see 5-15 meters away, and fully visible inside 5 meters.
This would achieve a few things:
- Survivors sprinting around & not paying attention are more likely to step in them.
- Survivors moving slowly and paying attention will avoid them.
- SWFs can no longer look at traps from across the map and tell their hive mind that they exist.
And he should be able to 'toss' them maybe 5 meters away from himself while moving, so he's wasting less time bending over and putting them down. But they take a few seconds to arm, so he can't just yeet them ahead of a fleeing Survivor.
That would be great

I’m not sure about giving him another power. What I do know is he has several add ons which clearly should just be base-kit (starting with 3 traps being the obvious one) .
Devs will give him one more trap every 5 years 😂

@LiquidSoap said:
Trapper is very strong if you go double iri addons and some slowdown perks so he can get his setup going. For example corrupt/deadlock/stbfl/no way out is a rly strong build and I usually 4k with trapper running this build and double red addons.
Its a good build but wouldn't call that "very strong", hes just okay. And good luck having to use iri addons every game, you will have to dedicate bloodpoints only to trapper to achieve that.
-
As @Pulsar once stated, Minotaur Feng.
-
I would love dbd without gen perks, I was never a fan of them to begin with. That being said, the game is far from balanced and using only 1 gen defense perk is not enough for a lot of the cast. Just map size and survivors spawning spread can make you lose the early 2-3 gens quite easily, so the whole "just apply pressure" idea is not always true. And a lot of times the way you can comeback from these situations is by getting a massive slug going, which apparently wasn't even allowed in your games (hard to tell when the criteria is just "when you need it").
Also a chill custom with friends doesn't prove anything regarding the balance of the game overall.

@Blueberry said:
Yeah the emblem system was a better representation than mmr is. Mmr incentivizes cheese with whatever it takes to get the kill or escape with nuances being irrelevant. It’s pretty ironic that after years of going through multiple different iterations of a ranking system that this final mmr one is probably the worst of them all. Like literally even the very first one that was just based of blood points was even more accurate.
Yea its kinda depressing

I have had way too many matches where the killer just simply knows where I am despite me running perks like sole survivor, quick and quiet, iron will (which should have never been nerfed to 75%), etc. I have matches where I have sole survivor at 3 stacks, hiding in a locker on the other side of the map from the 3rd hooked survivor and the killer goes straight to my location. I suspect some kind of cheating in many of these situations. Either that or hiding in this game even with hiding perks feels largely pointless. The killer's ability to simply know where you are, whether by perks or just by the killers knowing the maps too well by now, is too much. I don't usually run stealth or hiding perks. I prefer using perks that allow for more killer interaction. The problem is these days killer mains just seem to know where you are all the time and can too easily find you in situations where hiding is critical. This isn't the same game I played when I started over 2 years ago. So much has changed. Too much has changed.
If you wanna play sneaky playstyle I recommend to use distortion, since theres more aura reading perks for killers nowadays

But is the goal no longer to pip?
Hypothetically you can play tombstone Myers an entire season get a bunch of kills but never make it past bronze and barely get any BP when the season changes. As much as MMR has it's defined criteria for moving people up and down you really still only get tangible benefits from getting pips. Cuz the thing is even if you care about MMR more you can't see it so you can't know what it is so I don't see what the incentive is as far as MMR is concerned.
Rank grades don't matter anymore, I can't even remember the last time I looked if I piped or not (which I usually do anyway by playing for chases), I don't think the playerbase cares that much about it nowadays. I get your point about MMR, but for some reason people still care about sweating their ass off since its release, even without knowing their number lol.
-
@Xendritch said:
I don't know what you mean by reward in this context. You don't actually get anything for being high MMR the point of MMR is just to find games the matchmaker thinks will be balanced. Where as emblems still determine grade which does reward you with BP at the end of the season so not sure what you mean here.
MMR win condition is purely based on kills and escapes, therefore if you play to win (which most people do) all you have to care about are these 2 things, regardless of any nuance. With emblem system at least there was an attempt to keep the game all arounded rewarding multiple things, when the goal was to pip (or at least try to escape/4k with as close to pip as possible).
-
sounds like you don't have the balls to play killer then
-
Had one of those yesterday... 🙄
-
They don't care, the in game report is a joke
-
I don't think the game is gonna die anytime soon, but I have no high expectations from this company anymore. Not a single new game mode in 6 years, making questionable maps and can't even rework the bad ones properly, haddonfield is still #########, just a boring hold W abuse windows simulator, with very little pallets in the middle. I don't see things changing that much in the next year or so, considering how long it takes for them to make relevant patches.
-
Imo its kinda embarrassing how long it takes for them to change/add killers addons. Addons should be looked at way more often since they can actually make a spicy difference in killers basekit, meta and balance of the game. Especially useless addons that stay unchanged for ages, its insane...
-
I have been playing a lot of Bubba with no gen defense or just pain res, and even with the instadown pressure its rough to keep up with the gens. So yea, if you play ######### m1 killers like freddy, trapper, without any gen defense you will most likely lose, unless you get some good trap snowball going.

I'm gonna disagree here. Map offerings are fine in terms of their balancing.
1. They can be used equally by either side.
2. As killer you also have sacrificial ward to just block map offerings in general.
There are plenty of valid reasons to use Map Offerings that arent cheesing the game.
1. Certain achievements require you to go to certain maps. Outbreak Breakout anyone
2. Certain archive challenges are almost impossible on some maps, or progress much faster/easier on some maps. The game for pallet break, and several maps cant progress fall from a great height in chase.
3. Certain killers/builds(survivor or killer), can be useless on some maps. Scratched mirror Myers comes to mind first but there are many others.
4. You bring up RNG like its a good thing, but RNG can be a problem in itself. I have had multiple sessions where RNG will send me to the same map 3 times in a row, or 9 out 10 matches will bump back and forth between 2 realms, and you play offerings just to get maps you havent seen in a while.
- Sacrificial wards appear once or maybe twice per prestige level, its not even close to keep up with the influx of map offerings;
- Theres still a chance to be send to the maps for the achievement/meme builds and I can guarantee you most swfs are not sending me often to eyrie, garden, badham, ormond, etc, to complete achievements;
- I will take RNG over the certainty of a terrible designed map.
-
Badham and garden of joy.
-
I like agitation, wouldn't call it terrible tho, its just not meta.

That was impressive! There was a hook at the top of the staircase, and the third survivor could go further down the hall.
Yea, I only noticed when watching the vod, sad :x. I got the further survivor, just couldn't get the feng because I didn't go for upstairs.

So many safe pallets on that map, kinda nutty. I like the visuals tho, since they nerfed the previous red glow.

I played the PTB.
The bots play very good, they all use the hold W strategy, but they are still not as smart as real human players.
Its funny when you use Lethal Pursuer vs them, they all start crouching when in range of your terror radius lol
-
@TheArbiter said:
I was excited about it, then i played it on the PTB and the bots couldnt even finish 1 gen before I killed them all
Yea I checked it as well while testing the knight. The bots are fairly easy to beat. I might use the custom just to practice stuff like billy curves, oni flicks, bubba moonwalks with the chainsaw, stuff like that. Just a few games to warm up the muscle memory.
-
As survivor I enjoy going against him, hes fun to loop. But if he catches you on open field or very short tiles you will go down.
As killer, I don't like him at all. I didn't even purchase him, not a fan of that playstyle.
-
I think someone said in the forums that hook count for adept is buggy atm. I'm not sure.
-
Honestly what can we say at this point...
TOOBASED I guess
-
Damn I didn't know it was changed. I've been spamming flashbang build lately

Thoughts about some extremely frustrating matches (they didn't happen in a row, but they were all on the same day) because of terrible teammates. There are always those who say "you're not as good as you look, if you're being matched with bad players it's because you are too". In fact, I don't consider myself a high-level player like the guys who spend their days training for community championships, but I also don't see myself as a bad player at the level of my teammates.
Match 1 - I was downed and slugged, Dwight was on the hook and Mikaela was injured and being chased (she was the obsession, it's was possible to see the claws moving). So David, the only one who could save me and the Dwight, was blessing a totem. He left us to die.
Match 2 - I unhook a Cheryl, she insists on staying crouched wanting to be healed even though she hears the terror ray increase the volume progressively. I point at the killer coming, but she just looks at me crouching for healing. When she finally realizes the killer is coming it's too late to her get in a loop and she is on the floor agains (the killer is really was far away, it was possible tosee him coming over 40 m in open field).
Match 3 - I'm in chase with a Leatherface, I'm unlucky enough to get into a loop where a Bill is hiding. We run together in the same loop, Bill in front and me in the back. Leatherface starts the chainsaw and Bill drops the pallet in my face and I get downed.
Match 4 - I'm hooked and on my last hook, Kate and Meg are also on the last hook and are injured. Ada is healthy, hasn't been hooked once and she is in basement opening a chest with only 1 gen missing (it wasn't even a trigen). Everyone dies.
Match 5 – Yui and I are repairing a gen (by approximately 80%). The killer kicks the generator with overcharge and calls of brine, Yui hides and I starts a chased and try to take him to the other side of the map. My chase lasts around 40 s, when I'm unhooked I'll see the generator and it keeps regressing (almost zeroed). Yui remains hidden.
I refuse to accept that “I'm not as good as I think”, I may not be a great player, but I don't play these extremely inexperienced games. There's also the famous "people shouldn't play as you want". I'm absolutely sure no one wants to match with teammates who do actions like that, who struggle for the killer's victory, it's a worthy frustration. I just want to match with survivors who had the least bit of common sense. I feel like my MMR doesn't match the people I'm playing with.
The Bill one made me laugh ngl 🤣

Solved! 😎
