Hard disagree..the snowmen were awesome fun last year

Wise move, its totally pointless as all BVHR do is fob it off even if you follow all their convoluted steps to actually make a report.

Horror can be, to some extent, subjective. (For example, some people are deathly scared of butterflies. No, I don't mean something like Mothman, I mean cute, peaceful, monarch butterflies). So with that in mind, have some fun. What are some truly asinine Killer ideas?
I'll start:
The Brave Little Toaster
This post was partly inspired by some semi-recent posts discussing how:
DBD is no longer a horror-themed game
horror is subjective so DBD is still horror
horror is objective so DBD is not horror
with Killers like Trickster/Wesker, we can no longer say "that Killer idea won't fit with DBD"
etc.
Just lightly suggest in the forums that killers should not camp or tunnel and all weirdo killer mains in the forum will lose their minds

Yes it does, as it produces a loud noise notification. I've tested it personally.
Another great combination is Plaything+Retribution, as the sound of people doing totems also attracts zombos.
Ink Ribbon+Yellow Wristband, Discordance, Plaything, Retribution, Pentimento. It's...honestly scary to play against, especially on smaller maps.
Cheers Star, read yours 2nd, dunno why)

Yeah, Loud Noise Notifications will attract zombies. This includes perks like Tinkerer, Discordance or Call of Brine.
Cool, ty for answer, i never really thought of them hearing the noise as survivors don't get a noise from disco but its makes sense they are attracted to killer notifications.

Lethal Pursuer
Discordance (this is a must-equip on Nemmy, as it attracts zombies)
I'm All Ears (excellent with LP)
Agitation
Does discordance really attract zombies? do you know how the actual mechanics of that actually work?
Note: genuine curiosity as I've not heard of this before, my text may seem like I'm calling you out which is not the case
-
Agitation, Blood Warden, Mad grit +1 I would usually run brutal with this build on other killers however with Nemi once your are level 2 you can whip pallets away and with BW you aint so fussed about gens

You gave me nothing more concrete than its seen as scummy which is a little flimsy.
I didnt say anything about the whatever it takes win is OK part. Because considering playing to win to be toxic is a little absurd.
Please take a look at what you are saying and consider if its a little on the flimsy side or not.
I done responding to you, your taking every comment in bad faith

You don’t understand DBD very well if you don’t understand that competent survivors and how they play dictates the way the game plays out. Competent survivors, by the very nature of the game design are more influential than the killer role.
nonsense

You don't understand pvp games.
It's not required that your opponent plays worse just because it's more fun for you.
I did not say anywhere that anybody should play worse, you don't understand DBD and how it is different to most other pvp games

The onus is on the devs to make sure their customers are having fun, not the players.
It’s pathetic that players think they can dictate how their opponents should play the game and demand they “take it easy” on them.
You don't understand DBD very well if you don't understand that the killer and how they play dictates the way the game plays out, the killer by the nature of the game design is far more influential than the survivor role

So now that you failed to come up with a single reason why its scummy other than i see it as scummy, i invite you to reconsider. You'll be better off in the long run if you stop with this us/them nonsense.
??????? i gave you as simple an explanation as i could, i cant go any simpler, im sorry
I have no idea why you are saying "You'll be better off in the long run if you stop with this us/them nonsense"
I play both sides, i like to play in a fun completive style as killer, sweating my ass off to win a game of DBD at the expense having fun and giving other players a good time is weird to me.
-
@Crowman said:

It's a PvP game. Neither side is required to make sure their opponent is having a good time.
That is such a sorry pathetic mantra among some in the DBD community

Explain to me in simple terms exactly what part of my message is scummy?
In simple terms, you seem to be saying that doing whatever it takes win is OK even if that gives your fellow game players bad experience.
You say "Its never wrong to tunnel." I say your wrong, being that desperate to win a game of DBD is tragic, tunnelling has long been regarded as a scummy tactic in DBD even by some of those that do it.

It's interesting that you feel entitled enough to declare how killers "should" play the game. You do know that The Survivor Rulebook isn't an actual thing, right?
People can play however they like and what determines if they are good at it is how successful they are.
I've played this game for many years, i know all about dumb ######### like "survivor rulebook" etc
People like you should realise its a game, games are meant to be fun
Killers has be made incredibly easy in recent patch's, there's just no excuse for playing like a desperate loser as killer

Survivors don't seem to care about killer's fun tho.
Survivors don't dictate how the game plays out in the same way a killer can
-
@Dead_Harder said:
Its never wrong to tunnel.
Dont listen to this games community too much. They have a little twisted idea about whats allowed/toxic and whats not.
You got a scummy attitude, tunnelling because your that desperate to win is pathetic, killer is the the dominant role in the game and good killers dictate the pace and the tone of the game far more than survivors. Good killers should dish out fun competitive games instead of depressing must win at all cost boring snoozefests.
-
I think that is legit, it happened to me......This is very unusual for myself as connection is not an issue however i found myself in a game where i was lagging like hell at between 700 / 1000 ping and the killer seemed to tunnel me out very intentionally because of that which i think was fair enough and the right thing to do. it wasn't all that easy for them and what i was all over the place.
One thing that may help is actually being able to see your ping in time, often by the time you get to see what your ping is pre game its to late and everybody has readied up and you cannot back out
-
Pretty depressing, like breaking up with somebody but not having a new partner to move on with and occasionally getting back together for a regrettable experience
-
Bond or Kindred ....Bond will help you read the game, Kindred will help you do the same at an important specified time with the added bonus of your teammates also seeing and having no excuse not to come save/help
Open Handed + Bond + Kindred + anything else is something i always find fun in solo games
-
Looks like their rolling out the old "secretly working on it behind the scenes" like they have used for MMR in the past, i really wish they would been seen to be tackling hackers head on, it really sucks having to make the choice of having to DC and be punished or play out some non game
-
Nurse is really cool to see flying about with kindred + openhanded as survivor
Your idea doesn't sound bad to me, there could possibly be gameplay or graphical reasons that make it not viable from the devs point of view
Like her or loathe her Nurseys a cool character and it would be good to see more of her)
-
BVHR have wrecked the game by pandering to killers in the last 2 patch's, its had an effect on myself i didnt think possible, its killed my 4 and a half year hardcore DBD addiction stone dead, i dont even feel like watching DBD on twitch anymore which is something i always continued doing when having previous burnout breaks from playing. I play both sides about 70% survivor 30% killer.
Killer is now WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to easy now , particularly using spoiler/slowdown/fun killing tactics and survivor is just not fun anymore, its a grind, games are dragging out longer or ending to quick because other players just give up
-
Bonds just better, straightforward, no whacky criteria, helps new players learn the game and experienced players read the game
-
For myself Iron Will is compulsory on her same with David however with Jeff I just embrace the big Jeff noises ooohhaa whaaooo arrgh, no iron will can silence him
-
I agree with BVHR .....Consolers are scum and don't even deserve to be allowed to talk!
Keep Consolers the 2nd class citizens BVHR deem them to be!
-
Looks like bugged texture guy

I was surprised by how much I like it, actually. Thought it'd feel like vertically stacked survivor portraits but it is much better.
wow , im honestly surprised somebody likes it, i know new ui changes on anything can offend the eye in the first instance but you soon get used to it. On a practical level its fine maybe even better however on an aesthetic level it just seems its not even been thought about and this is the first thing every player sees when they log on to DBD

No i mean exactly what i said, dunno why you think i meant comments
-
Upvote is meaningless without a downvote option to balance it
-
I have to agree, when doing these surveys you sometimes wonder what the purpose of the question is and if its just been lumped in to fill out the survey.
-
I love going against flashlights as killer , they get you a lot of action, if they are blinding you at pallets and chain blinding you then they have less battery to make actual saves. if this game was to lose flashlights it would take away some of the best most interactive gameplay for both sides
-

No you didn't, but you certainly responded in the negetive because I made a suggestion....one that certainly didnt sit well with you, so much to the point that you'd rather see me go then stay and try to help make it better. Nah this is a you problem my dude
its not a "me problem" its your problem and yes i would rather see you go than the whole game be changed into something completely different
-
@Shut_Up_Meg said:
Yeah maybe, sorry to get you butthurt over a suggestion.
I dont think i am the one thats butthurt here, i didnt start a thread suggesting we change the whole game!

@Shut_Up_Meg said:
Maybe its time to re-imagine how the game is played...is it possible to get rid of gens altogether and give each survivors a new escape mechanic depending on the killer they are paired with? Can Killers get a fear mechanic that affects the motor skills of survivors?
Maybe it time for YOU to play a different game
-
I really like that they are introducing this interactive feedback reward kind of thing, what i would hope to see in the future is some sort of system where it can tell the survey user if what they are doing is correct, i feel like i done what was required but im not sure and wont know for a few days when the rewards are dished out., it would certainly suck to find out a week after taking part that i made some kind of error in the way i done what was being asked.
-
Queue time are highly variable no matter what platform you are on, some of the variables that affect MM time for all players are MMR rank and time of day played amongst other factors
-
I really like cross play ,the devs actually implemented it without to much fuss or bother, one thing that really need to happen is console players should be able to communicate in pre/post game chat if they choose to, there certainly can be a a lot of salt in these chats but there is also some really good camaraderie between the players and wholesomeness that doesn't get mentioned as much

Look up the definition of white knighting you got it wrong, I mean the act of fraudulently coming to the rescue rather than the urban dictionary sex act. Speaking of high horses you came here on yours to accuse others of being a scumbags for how they play, I just took a jab at you for that, if my high horse is a pony then yours is a Clydesdale in this scenario. Oh the irony lol.
Whether you find it funny doesn't matter its kinda at your expense and you took the bait beautifully. I mean if you gonna make trolly jab posts like that, you can't let yourself get baited when someone trolls you for it. Dish it out but can't take it kinda guy eh?
But truely if you think some unresolved conflict exists between us then it really doesn't. Stop taking it all so seriously really that's a genuine piece of advice, I'll upgrade my high horse from a pony to a steed.
Same goes for all the folks constantly accusing each other of tunneling and camp etc etc. stop taking it all so seriously its bad for you and the game. Peace out on this one.
You just had to "jump the shark" on your high horse didn't you

Seriously dude you can’t be this dour at this exchange, I mean its an online forum about a computer game. None of it matters. You gotta learn to lighten up no one likes a grumpy ol sour puss. 😾
You are trying really hard, but what you write is just not funny, maybe try to resist getting on your high horse when saying something, a high horse you got no business being when you came here to whiteknight some trolly dick

I never said you didn't but calling players scumbags for tunneling and camping which is what you are implying given the OP's topic is salt usually sprinkled from that side of the fence.
The only scumbags in DBD are the sore losers who can't laugh it off and abuse others about it.
Its either said in jest like my comment or genuinely belittling of the OP I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the former because, having a sense of humour it works wonders 😝
Maybe try dragging yourself out of your own ass and read back your humourless pious post about ......"sense of humour"
Written with a whimsical sense of fun ;-)

That sounds like salty survivor talk. :P
Everything probably sounds like that to you, i play both sides
-
Artist has to be the most boring killer to go against in DBD right now, even if they are not desperate losers using every spoiling tactic they can to win they are still really boring to play against
-
Given you name and disingenuous question its clear you get off on playing like a scumbag and provoking reaction
-
I have the opposite problem i more often that not get matched with brand new players despite my many thousands of hours, i understand MM is complicated but surely they can keep brand new players separated from players with years of experience separated, it makes for bad games for all concerned, when i was a new player back in 2018 i had a blast learning the game for the most part with my fellow new players
-
Not really but i am probably ready for a new main game, its gonna have to be one hell of a game to give me what i have got from DBD over the years tho
-
I also get this exact bug intermittently v the doc, its really annoying
-
Oh please dont open this tedious can of worms yet again, i wish everybody didnt give a toss about sexuality one way or the other

it is set up this way so you cant report people for what they say anymore.
If you cant read it, cant report it. When I first started playing this game, survs would tell you hurt yourself in almost every end game chat, and it was reportable back then,.... now, you can type whatever you want because no one can read it anyway LOL
You know what i never really imagined that the censorship being how it was BVHR shirking their responsibilities but that is about the only logical conclusion that makes any sense
