Wolf form definitely shouldn't have the speed hit on walking backwards, it's nearly impossible to mindgame as it is.
-
So nothing to stop all 4 survivors from seeing the killer's aura at the start of the game? Thanks for making things so much harder.
A one-sided update, sadly.

well, the wallhack is a well-known feature. this is bots just outright increasing their own stats (ie. the range of movement they have while harpooned) for some reason.
They also are psychic when it comes to Slinger firing at them - they are impossible to hit unless you're at point blank range as they somehow always manage to juke to one side just as you fire.
It's so consistent you can tell it's a bot just by this.

Man you are so disconnected from the survivor side or the game it's no wonder killers keep getting stronger and survivor gets weaker.
That vid proved what exactly? That it's not bannable to slug? Never said it was I said he didn't play as intended. You know hooking survivors. The way the game was meant to be played.
But he did hook all the survivors. Just not in the manner you'd like him to play.
You keep saying "as intended". You can therefore show a post or other reference from BHVR stating that what you're saying is indeed as they have intended us to play the game? Oh, and "it's obvious because…" is not evidence, it's just assumption.

Sadly, Sloppy is getting nerfed badly but otherwise a good build!

Nerfing flashlights and flashbang is a mistake.
Nerfing BGP is also a mistake, but it's less of a mistake than nerfing the former.
Sucks to have another perk deleted, but I don't see any other option to satiate people at this point.
Best laugh I've had all day!
Wait, you're not serious, are you? If so, please explain why BGP is not problematic 'cause I'd love to hear that one.

well if we go that in depth
pig roar
wraith bings and bongs and whooshing
dredges whooshing
trappers breathing
hags gargling
nemesis stomping
knights stomping
chuckys laughing
most killers whether stealthy or not have loud sounds that drastically impact stealth with perks, weirdly enough all stealth killers and killers with secondary stealth abilities in their power (except skull merchant because shes special) all have some kind of tell to their stealth or drawback like an uncloak or stand up or roar or cooldown or what have you. Most of them being sound based
But none of those are nearly as egregious and many are situational not constant.
-
One extra disadvantage Slinger has is that Bots have telepathy. Seriously, watch any video of a Slinger player attempting to shoot a bot and it's outrageous, they "know" immediately and twitch away as soon as the sights are near to them, and if you manage to get them into the sights or try to lead your shot the instant the harpoon leaves the gun they juke.
Incredibly frustrating.

only 4 killers have a lulabye
huntress because she is a ranged killer
trickster because its funny
onion because otherwise she would just be bootleg wraith
freddy because he can have stealth but not too much
it would have to be a mostly universal change / stealth nerf to give killers lulaybes just because they use stealth perks and addons. it would be kind of silly to make it just for wesker for a mid tier perk
You forgot Demogorgon, his STOMPY STOMPY is worse than a lullaby and makes stealth perks/addons useless. "Oh no, I don't hear him scream but the ground is shaking and it's coming from behind that wall. I wonder where Demo could be?"

One way to fix tunnelling would be to make survivors not have collision with the killer for a short duration, as long as the killer's TR is within earshot of the survivor they cannot be hit again until killer fully drops chase for 30-40 seconds after the basekit BT wears off.
30-40 seconds of complete immunity? That's insane.
-
So you really enjoy everyone being slugged for the 4k every match?
Because this would only turn DBD into Slugfest-a-Rama.
-
Now that we have the "8 hits and a gen is untouchable by the killer" Call of Brine should be brought back to it's original state.

Clearly I need another coffee - how did you get 12 hooks and have anyone alive, much less all four survivors?
-
It seems pretty clear that their intention is to change Pig from a unique killer to "Do more chases".
-
Sadly, as usual BHVR have implemented the requirement of "within X range" in three dimensions, so a killer on the ground floor still counts as camping if the hook is on the second floor above him/her.
Well at least they're consistent. Consistently bad design/implementation, that is.

To me the problem with the Alien nerf is that this killer already has a solid counterplay - Turrets.
Even when playing against it, i've felt pretty comfortable with his tail attack as i was always trying to looping it near a turret, forcing him to break it or become a m1 killer.
Now Alien has to play perfectly or is punished twice: by his cooldowns and by turrets.
Not only that, but they've screwed up his tail hitboxes as well.

@Peanits said:
To set expectations realistically, I think the major flaw with this is that there isn't one single reason why people camp. If you ask ten people why they camped, you would get ten different answers. One person might say it's because the Survivors were being overly altruistic. Another might say that they did it because there weren't many generators left and they just wanted to secure a kill. Or camp someone specifically because they had a long chase and the Killer was frustrated. Someone might even do it just because they felt like it.
Even if we addressed every possible reason someone might camp, you'd still be left with some folks who do it just because they can and because they want to. That's assuming we even can or should fix every possible reason, though. In the case that the Killer decides to camp someone who was hard to catch, we can't exactly punish the Survivor for playing well - that's not even remotely fair. Sure, we can continue fine tuning balance to make sure that the reason why they're hard to catch isn't because they got lucky or brought strong stuff, but even if the game were perfectly balanced, one person will always be able to outplay another.
But no matter what the reason may be, the outcome is still the same. It's not fun for the person being camped to have to sit there until they eventually die with no opportunity for them to counter it. This goes beyond something being strong or one sided, it prevents someone from being able to play the game at all from that point on, and it's something we still need to address. We simply cannot turn a blind eye to a major issue until we've systematically dealt with every item on the laundry list of reasons someone might give for camping.
And yet you released this knowing it's broken on multi-level maps.
-
@Sharby said:
I dont care if you play fair or not I just want you to not tunnel/camp at the start of the game just to get a 1k and no points.
Those games are incessantly boring and are literally only done out of spite.
Wow, I'm impressed that you read the killer player's mind and know precisely why he's played the game the way he wanted to!
Seriously though, you cannot claim to know what motivates anyone out on the internet.
-
The thing is, with the old BP bonus in BBQ there was a real incentive for the killer to hook all 4 survivors before going for second hooks (unless someone just came around a corner into range).
Now, that incentive is gone. Counter-productive if there is a desire to reduce tunnelling.

Whether it was meant to be a nerf or not, or that it was compensated or not, functionally, that part was a nerf, so that's what I'm calling it ? I'm not saying it's a bad thing (I'm even mentioning that it's for accessibility and not for the fun of it) or that flashlights came out of that update ruined. I'm just calling a cat a cat for simplicity.
Sorry, but given that it's easier to blind the killer now how was that a nerf?
-
@HugTheHag said:
A few months ago, a hard limit was put on how often a flashlight can be turned on and off, to prevent rapid clicking and epilepsy risks.
This resulted in a slight flashlight nerf : 1 click = 1 charge spent.
And now, in order to use the flashlight's charges efficiently... Survivor bots click by default !
Since bots are going to replace DCs in real games soon, chances are the ghost of that survivor who DC'd on the first down is gonna come click at you later ! X)
It wasn't really a nerf, given how much easier they made it to get a flashlight blind to compensate.

I prefer the killer not be rewarded for playing this way.
If the killer has all four survivors on the ground, then they out-played all four on chase and managed to keep them from reviving one another.
Sounds like they played far better than the survivors in this case, no?
-
Auto aim has been broken since the instant it was put into the game, but for some insane reason the devs refuse to fix/remove it.
-
Yeah, a Puppers hoodie would be fine, a Puppers skin could be traumatic.
-
BBQ used to be a good perk that encouraged Killers to not camp - the best benefit was achieved by spreading out the hooks to all survivors.
So they took that away, the Devs actively decided to make BBQ less of an anti-camping perk.
Gotta wonder why?
-
Survivors get buffs, Pyramid Head gets shelved.
-
The fact that it's now a multi-use perk is a huge buff to the perk and the 30 seconds is easy to work around - recharge it when you're running to the next gen or off to unhook or getting in the killer's face to draw a chase.
In all, this is an overall strenthening of the perk, just blocking the truly obnoxious use of it found in the PTB
-
@Zeidoktor said:
I think what you mean is "Oh Boy! Survivors Could Recharge Toolboxes For The Last Two and a Half Years!"
What is Scavenger but a toolbox specific Built To Last?
Also Scavenger only works once per game, a point I can't help but wonder if it's being missed/ignored. So it's not like survivors are recharging toolboxes all the live long day.
Finally I imagine people making regular use of Scavenger will already be running a gen rush build of some kind, this just gives a different means for it.
There is already a video out by Otz pointing out how you can take Scavenger and BTL and get three uses out of a toolkit, it's demonstrated in the video so this is not just theory. Three uses out of a purple toolbox is massively unbalanced.
Additionally, Scavenger doesn't require the user to waste time in any way like BTL does, you can be doing the gen and when you hit that 4th great skill check you don't even have to restart working on the gen, it automatically just starts using up the recharged toolbox without skipping a beat.

Biased view. He gets paid for clicks on his videos so of course he is melodramatic about every little thing.
Its another trash perk along with a long list of "OP PERKS" that certain people like to clamor is going to break the game. Its too situational and niche to ever be run all the time no matter if drama queens want to get on the forums and scream otherwise.
Mate, he posted the math and real-life results in his video. How is that melodramatic - the figures speak for themselves.
-
There are already videos up of people doing live tests on Scavenger and it's completely broken. Take a purple toolbox and you get at least two uses of it potentially three without taking any other related perks. Otz released test data that he and a friend shaved more than 40s off a gen - that's nearly half the time for zero cost!
People raising issues with Scavenger at the very least is not Chicken Little yelling that the sky is falling, it's pointing at the ticking nuke and saying "we might have an issue here..."
-
Firstly, how is slugging punishment for playing "good"? Unless the Killer is talking to you via Discord or some other program there's no way for you to tell why you're being slugged.
Secondly - ever heard of a paragraph? That wall of text was painful to read just for the format.
Finally, your last statement "ps to the people who wanna contradict me I won't respond to it your comment will just be sitting here" means that there is literally no point to your creating this thread. This is a discussion board, so people will discuss things.
-
Not so much the chase music but while I love playing Plague her damn "whispering" when her power is activated is more like the yelling of a drunken trucker looking for his buddies.
Seriously, you can't hear a thing over it.
It's almost as loud as Demo's STOMP STOMP STOMP which makes Undetectable a joke on him, which is a shame 'cause I love playing Demo too!

Calm down with the fearmongering. You can't claim survivors will be able to abuse a system you don't fully understand.

Until then, please kindly take a deep breath. The sky isn't falling. Everything will be okay.

Your pretty confident they won't f those up look at there recent maps and reworks.
Given their recent "reworks" I have little confidence in them making the changes any less survivor-sided.
-
What about the situation where an active gen is within 16m of the hook? The killer is supposed to just let survivors go to town on it lest the anti-camping mechanism punishes him by losing a hook state? What about multi-story maps and buildings?
This needs a lot more thought before potentially going live, but sadly I suspect the devs will once more either ignore or put in a miniscule tweak and put it in anyway.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/376179/do-the-devs-know-what-face-camping-is
The real question is: if the hook is on the first floor, and I'm at ground floor, how this works? Because if this activates also when I'm under the hooked survivor, this mechanic is a free deliverance and isn't balanced anymore. Also, I didn't understand a thing: ok, the hooked survivor can free himself, but do they know that if the killer is face camping he can catch the survivor even if he unhook himself right? Or did I miss something? Because if this works the same as deliverance, when you unhook yourself with deliverance you're instantly vulnerable and, even if you go in deep wound state, the killer can catch you up. So, maybe I missed something on this mechanic, but for now is more an L than a W in my opinion
The devs did state that this works through the floor, so yeah - killers are screwed on multi-level maps/buildings.
Once again, the devs have only considered one side of the equation.

They had a test day last year where they did just that and they made the SBMM stricter. There were such a small percentage of players actually in high MMR that there were people waiting from 1 to 2 *hours* for a match. Considering the people in high MMR are mostly long term regular players - including a number of content creators who got caught up in the super long wait times - I honestly can't see them touching that.
"Screw the majority so that the minority can enjoy themselves more" is not a good model.

I know he is perfectly fine the way he is now, but some changes that wouldnt spike his potential too much would be really appreciated like:
- He currently have 5-6 good addons, and most of these are the ones who affects Shredding. Portal sealing, traversing speed and bigger Killer Instinct arent good
- His Undetectable could work right. RN even if he is affected by Undetectable after emerging, you can hear his footsteps very clear
- His Undetectable after emerging from a portal could go to 5-6 seconds maybe
Yeah, I love my DemoBoi but there's no point in any version of undetectable given that he goes "STOMP STOMP STOMP" even when "stealthy".

"Hard to do" when they've made flashlights trivially easy to use now? Yeah right.
-
I believe that the main problem is that the "Everyone past this MMR score is the same" point is set way too low.
The devs have said that once you reach a certain MMR score (maybe 1500 but I can't remember) then it essentially considers you the same as everyone else with that score or higher. So you go along for a while playing against people roughly at your skill level then the moment you cross the magic threshold you can get put into matches with people with several times your score and thousands of hours in the game.
So you'll get a barely experienced Dwight with three other survivors with thousands of hours so of course poor Dwight can't pull his weight or you'll get a killer who's been around longer than Otz facing survivors barely out of training wheels.
Lift that "magic point" a fair bit higher and you'll see far less badly matched players. Yes, I know it'll make wait times longer but I'd rather wait a bit longer to get a fun, fairly matched round than wait less time to get ROFLSTOMPED.

I agree, and it doesn't matter if he was toxic or not. The problem is that he did something that goes against the rules. It's not about slugging, but about being stuck in the game. I opened a ticket on the company's website with his SteamID and all the photos. I hope he is punished, and they finally take some action about this and some of the game's problems. There are several new games in the scene that copy DBD and have already solved various problems that DBD hasn't resolved in six years, such as slugging and camping. You get up after 45 seconds on the ground, and if you camp too close, it doesn't count towards the death time.
Mate, nothing he did was against the rules. You should read up and learn what is actually allowed and what's forbidden before raising a complaint. All you're doing is wasting time that could be spent on legit complaints.

If you don't have anything important to say, just shut up
Sorry, you don't get to control the conversation.
Secondly, you stated that if BHVR are concerned about upsetting people "they can just ask the Arab community".
This assumes that the Arab community is a monolithic whole where everyone believes the same things exactly.
No group of human beings with more than one member has everyone believe the same things exactly.
So that's not really feasible.

It's not about losing guys. It is about how every single game I get into. It is either my teammate or me getting tunneled from the start. How much fun is it to be hook camped and when your teammates finally get you off hook the killer does anything in their power to go for the unhooked person. That is just a toxic way to play. I'm not defending the jerk survivors that tbag and click their flashlights. But the fact that killers that aren't good at playing have to resort to playing super toxic by tunneling and camping. MMR needs to change to let the less skilled killers to get a tad easier lobbies.
"But the fact that killers that aren't good at playing have to resort to playing super toxic by tunneling and camping. "
You keep stating this as though it's a fact, but it's most definitely not. Many of the top players camp and tunnel - have a look at just about every streamer as an example (and yes, I know that streamers are a definite minority just an example).
Just because you don't like their perfectly legitimate tactics doesn't mean that your opponent isn't good at the game.

thats just how bad the solo Q survivor average skill is...there is no surprise on that , doesnt matter what u play there is always 1 or 2 people killing themself or Dcing in 1 out of 4 matches.
outside of that , feels soo bad that the people and devs are gonna let billy in a terrible state for another year it seems like because they said "hey guys we nerfed billy for the PTB" and them "hey guys we reverted back the nerf
not at all the extra heat when sprinting is still there"and people are happier aparently or either they dont care about billy that much because of that...literally the basekit power has a lot of penalties + with how many junk and areas with questionable hitboxes there is on the reworked maps , makes you wonder , but hey maybe the killer has good addons to try something fresh...right?.
uhhh wait only 3 to 4 are actually good , while the rest are just terrible ... like the ultrarares where if not used together are just jokes.the addons that rewards the killer for "OVERHEATING" are soo depressing and pretty much not fun to use either.
and the bumping cooldown reduction addons...ohhh boy... that literally should be basekit like they did with legion when reworked or atleast the green one only.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C7M6RTC12T9D/image.png
Mah face when trying to overheat on purpose just to get a 24 meters TR and slightly faster pallet breaking speed with 2 addons.
Set your rev button to "mouse wheel" then just spin that wheel for insta-overheat!
