SkyBilly and SkyDemo
Seriously, they didn't give an advantage to the killer they were just plain fun - and most times when you did pull it off the survivors loved it too!

bro im a 1200 hours killer 400 hours nurse/blight main, sorry I care the survivors have fun.
You've played for a while so you get to determine how others are allowed to play?
Seriously?

We need basekit unbreakable. The mere fact that the devs said they were going to bring it to the game and never did is ridiculous. What did all the streams that main killer gave you guys black lash? It's not about them it is about your players that are tired of just being slugged and playing the whole game on the ground wasting our time.
If you keep getting slugged & hate it, there is an option you know - bring Unbreakable.
Pretty simple & easy solution, no?

Its a contentious topic. Changing it would either encourage risky saves or buff camping. I think it should exist because being able to just run up and get a trade every time, without having to bait the grab would both be a dumb buff and remove game depth. Not that camping has much depth, but in the few times where it is allowed (endgame for one last kill, gates are open and everyones alive) it adds some depth. and in those times, survivors tend to be coordinated enough to rush the hook as a group, even in solos. The issue could be fixed simply by nerfing camping, to the point that its a last resort scenario instead of an easy hook farm.
"Not that camping has much depth, but in the few times where it is allowed (endgame for one last kill, gates are open and everyones alive) it adds some depth."
Where it is allowed????
Behold, the Entitled Survivor in all their glory!
Seriously, you honestly think that you can determine the one singular instance when a legit strategy confirmed multiple times by the devs is "allowed"? So much for those Survivor mains who claim that Killers are entitled, here's a prime example of the complete opposite.
Get bent with your Survivor Rulebook BS.

how would they be doing that if the boon is set up in an area that isnt of interest?
Eventually they are going to have to make the move by running into your territory, nothings stopping you from snuffing the boon either if theyre all there, or even if the majority are there
Are you serious?
The slow, territorial killers like Hag and Trapper would have to trudge halfway across the map to find then snuff the boon. Then they'd have to trudge all the way back, meanwhile the survivors have circled around them and are pumping out gens..
Have you never played a territorial killer against CoH?
-
Now there's only three more things they need to do to let Billy be fun to play again:
- An actual thoughtful add-on pass. Seriously - Billy charges his chainsaw faster when blinded??
- Remove the pointless invisible walls on rooftops. Even survivors love to see SkyBilly take flight!
- Fix the huge number of tiny twigs or cloth straps that knock Billy on his butt. Seriously, it's incredibly difficult to get a run of any length when you suddenly hit some tiny obstruction and bam, chase over.

Sure. Just as soon as Boons stop working on multi-story buildings.

because of how many people were holding games hostage for 30+ minutes by endlessly kicking gens. Killers brought those nerfs on themselves. Good riddance because it was the worst killer meta in the history of this game from a survivor POV. Shout out to people like Hens bringing attention to how ridiculous it was by making that video where he held a game hostage until the server shut down.
And how many people are holding games hostage by setting up COH on the far side of the map (especially with slow territorial killers like Hag & Trapper) and just taking one hit and running off to get healed?
-
Try playing Billy on RPD - don't tell me that a 4k is easy.

Or auto aim deciding you wanted to hit the corner of a pallet or a wall when you are right on their back. Its so annoying.
Auto-aim was a bad idea at the start and it hasn't gotten any better.
But of course BHVR will never get rid of it. Can't stop screwing over the killers.
-
That and they need to do a pass over the maps - there are far too many tiny twigs sticking out that knock Billy on his ass. It's ridiculous! Then you get a map like RPD in which case just accept that you're getting 1 kill at most if you're lucky.
-
The overheat isn't as bad as it was but it was never needed in the first place.
What I'd really love is A) a PROPER addon update - some of his are the absolute worst in the game. Seriously. An addon that makes you charge the chainsaw marginally faster *after being blinded*. An Iri that makes your chainsaw silent - but only for those outside your terror radius. The list goes on.

Just look at The Game...

Your first point is correct. You second is hyperbole and false.
There are still plenty of regression perks, I personally never used CoB, OC or PR, which means you don't have to either!
If you can't play without them, you should rethink your gameplay.
Well yeah there are lots of regression perks, they're just nerfed to the point of uselessness. Call of Brine now saves you a max of *4 SECONDS*. It's a waste of a perk now.
-
Sadly, pretty sure that Jolt is next on the chopping block. It's one of the only effective anti-gen perks left, so BHVR is sure to nerf it to oblivion. This patch has proven that their intention is to remove any anti-gen progress from Killers.

Yeah I hate that they seem to be phasing out bonus BP... not a great reason to do it imo
Especially because the old BBQ actually was an incentive to not tunnel but to ensure that you quickly got each survivor on the hook once then you'd move on to other tactics.
But they removed that anti-tunnel incentive. #########?
-
So COH is back to 8-second altruistic healing.
Didn't they learn anything from the go-live on this?
-
They've ignored the rest of his addons which are complete garbage, they aren't addressing the new details on the maps so that chainsawing is nearly impossible as you get caught up on a twig or fleck of paint from a car.
They've also added a lot of invisible walls to prevent Billy or Demo from dashing off a rooftop anymore - they seem determined to make Billy as unfun as possible.
-
His review confirmed my belief that OhTofu is a dedicated survivor main.
-
" Ofc the nerfs were imo justified all around,"
Really? You think that Billy needed to be hit both on his mobility and his only two decent addons?
None of the nerfs to either survivors or killers have justification as listed - they all need work.
-
Because someone at BHVR hates Billy. That's the only rationale I can discern.
-
@Xendritch said:
CoH needed a slight nerf sure but this the nerf to itself and healing general it pretty much got completely demolished. If that goes through is it safe to say BHVR has given up on boons entirely? Shadowstep is the only decent one but I can't imagine anyone bringing just shadowstep, you'd only run it if you were already running CoH and it was a nice bonus.
I wouldn't surprised if people stopped bringing boons entirely which kinda sucks that an entire mechanic is being scrapped.
COH needed a slight nerf? Sorry, it's been massively overpowered since release and the two subsequent "nerfs" have been infinitesimal.

Or there could be a number next to the portrait next to the Killer portrait. That number shows how further down in the queue you'll be pushed if you select the Killer being overplayed.
Also, there could be 200% or 300% bonus for playing Killers that aren't touched.
Or they could not punish killers for playing the game they've paid for.

tbh I don't think it will change the current environment , tunnel will still happen a lot if the gen still too fast and killer want more kills in the game , They can replace Eruption by pop, overcharge, DMS or Deadlock , so they can have more time for tunneling one guy out and force a 3V1 .
A lot of killers like Blight , Wraith and The Spirit can tunnel a guy out very quickly . They don't really need Eruption , as soon as the guy off the hook, you can see them change target within 5 seconds🤩 , it's very hard to escape from them and it always lead to a 3v1 match with 2-3 gens left, maybe 1 gen if your teammate don't waste time try to save the poor guy who being tunnel the entire game. 🙄
"They can replace Eruption by pop, overcharge, DMS or Deadlock"
None of these are anything close to Eruption, in particular Pop has already been nerfed to extinction.
-
Because BHVR couldn't stop at just nuking a killer perk they had to buff survivors as well?
-
Yeah, that would be a HUGE advantage to the survivors and throw the already-bad game balance so far out of whack it would be insane.
-
The others have said it better than I could, but I wanted to add that his stealth is just ridiculous.. Sure, they're Oblivious but here comes the Demogorgon who apparently weighs 16 tons with his stealthy "STOMP STOMP STOMP".

They’re deliberately loud, IIRC, to help balance her exceptionally strong abilities (basically NOED at distance).
Sorry, but how is her power "basically NOED at distance"?
NOED is a one-shot down.
Her power is a hit at a distance that doesn't activate any "on hit" perks.
So how is it like NOED? You still have to get a hit and the state of her puke attacks (both regular and powered) appear to have a RNG attached as to whether the particles hit or not, due to the odd nature of how they've implemented her power.

How does being able to see the killers perks as a solo player benefit you after you're out of the match?
There is no way for the game to detect if you're solo. Because this was abused in the past, now everybody lost the option.

It's not the getting killed part that's the issue. If anything, that's only good thing about it--it's guaranteed to end eventually.
Found with Lethal and went down? It's inevitable, no matter how long it takes, especially if the killer is worth their salt. As a result, 2 of the 3 facets of survivor gameplay were never available to the survivor. No gen progress, no evasion to be had.
Your second point is irrelevant to my argument. Not to mention that it doesn't apply in the above scenario, which isn't at all uncommon or hard to do.
Essentially what you're saying is "The killer has to make their match harder for themselves in order to make sure that every survivor has fun".
Somebody will always be the first survivor to die. Sometimes it takes a long time to get to that point, sometimes it happens quickly. If the Killer can shift things to their advantage early in the round that's a huge amount of pressure brought to bear on the remaining survivors and greatly enhances the killer's chance of winning. Why should they forfeit that?
-
BHVR have stated that they're following a "wait and see" attitude. I can understand that.
However, given their past history (COH is still broken AF and nothing in the pipeline to fix it etc) I'm not holding my breath.
-
Billy was my first main but after the mega-nerf I gave him a rest. Decided to give him a shot again and man, these new maps are full of tiny roots or a splinter sticking out from Shack that cause him to get caught up and knocked on his ass.
It's pointless even trying with Billy with these maps and the constant collisions with things you can barely see, plus they took away our SkyBilly!
-
Let's see how these changes affect things before jumping into more, shall we?

I think however if we agree in any near terms that Circle of Healing has no cost to survivors (the time to place it being the cost) and it's providing 4 much better versions of Self Care to all survivors and if Survivor Perks are worth 1/4 of each killer perk (4 perks vs 16 perks), then Boon Totem: Circle of Healing is as valuable as 1 killer Perk slot. And I think when you consider the overall impact it has on the game compared to any other perk survivors have then there is no denying its value proposition.
CoH is utterly broken, it provides massive bonuses to all players for a short time investment (though not 4 seconds) and can be reapplied easily - there is no current way for a killer to completely remove the boon from the game unlike hex tokens.
CoH is far more powerful than a single Killer perk, as mentioned it completely eradicates the Hit & Run strategy (and therefore encourages tunnelling, which baffles me why the devs would do that) and is completely game-wrecking for the poor slow territorial killers like Trapper & Hag - imagine them having to leave their protected area, trudge half-way across the map to stomp the boon then trudge back only to hear it re-activate before they get back to their zone.
-
So BHVR will also in this patch revert the Starstruck nerf?

It's entirely possible for Reassurance to be buffed without overbuffing it.
What is it with these forums and the concept of doing things in moderation that's so difficult to understand
The question is, Why does Reassurance need a buff? It's a very effective tool as is, and just because it can't be used with zero risk in every instance is hardly a good reason for a buff. No perk should have zero risk/cost involved.
-
Why should Reassurance have zero risk? Doing it through the floor from above or below is nuts.

Edit: Nevermind, I misinterpreted a post.

Wrong, mori counts the same as 3rd hook since like 2 years ago. Killer's goal is to prevent surviviors from escaping by killing them, just not too fast.
Yes hatch is a mechanic in the game (duh) but it's a stupid and a pointless (from achieving goals perspective) mechanic.
Intuitively as a killer you should kill all surviviors you can, even if you have to slug for 4k, but counterintuitively it turns out that letting the last survivior escape through hatch gives the same result (other than less BP).
So it's clearly bad design and not killer's fault for doing what they believe they are supposed to do in the best way possible (or for just wanting more BP).
You said "Killer's goal is to prevent surviviors from escaping by killing them, just not too fast."
Why "not too fast"? What is the benefit to the killer in not killing off survivors as quickly as possible? For every survivor their team loses the chances of victory increase for the killer so it seems counterproductive to go "not too fast".
So what's the incentive?
-
@Firellius said:
I want to use it, but losing 33% of progress made on top of losing ALL of it if you lose a health state in any way just makes it too much of a risk.
Wish they'd lower it to 15 stacks instead of 20 and then reduced the token loss from getting hit to 3, or even 0.
If the token loss was zero this would be immensely broken. You can't be serious.

No matter really likes the current killer meta it's boring for killers it's boring for survivors and we just need to get away from regression and gen stall in general I feel so I looked over all the perks and here's some changes I would make to some currently really bad perks get us to a more fun chase oriented meta.
Predator: You see scratchmarks for 1/2/3 seconds longer
Territorial Imperative: You see the aura of any survivors when they enter the basement and for an additional 3/4/5 seconds after they leave the basement
Beast of Prey: After putting a survivor in the dying state gain the undetectable status effect for 30 seconds
Hangman's Trick: After being unhooked that survivor gains the broken status effect for 12/15/18 seconds
Unrelenting: increases the cooldown of missed basic attacks by 20/25/30% (now includes when you hit an object)
Brutal Strength: Break Pallets, Walls and Generators 20/25/30% faster
Enduring: Reduce Pallet Stun Duration by 40/45/50%, being pallet stunned while holding a survivor no longer causes you to drop the survivor
Bamboozle: Increases vaulting speed by 5/10/15% and blocks that window for 6/8/10 seconds (one window at a time limit removed)
Hex: Crowd Control: Whenever a survivor vaults a window or pallet they suffer from the hindered status effect (-4%) for 2/3/4 seconds
Eruption: Incapacitated effect reduced to 9/12/15 seconds / Cooldown increased to 40 seconds
Call of Brine: Regression rate decreased to 100/125/150%
Scourge Hook Pain Res: gen progress loss reduced to 8/10/12%
Thoughts? Would this lead to more chases and less kicking gens and camping? Would it lead to a worse meta? What do you think? Keep some of these changes and ditch others?
It's interesting that you apparently see no need to touch any Survivor perks. Regression has become meta due to the insane speed in which Survivors can complete gens and how heavily they own the early game, which forces the killer into a high-pressure gameplay to stand a chance of doing well. It's a vicious cycle but it starts with Survivors.

We as in the 3 of us that share this user and our friends who we (or one or two of us) swf with. That specific example (the lery's one) was a personal experience while the "1 swat gen rush" is a collection from we (the ones who share "Rulebreaker", would us be better?). It is technically all "personal" experience as its a small pool of 3 people.
We (all of us) also like saying we even if its just one of us cause it does seem to bug people alot and we (again, all of us) think thats funny~ (Also confusing for people with pros and cons)
Thanks for clarifying, it definitely sounded as if you were speaking for all players and clearly that's not the case - as you yourselves said, this is purely personal experience and there isn't independent backing data.

Ive had it with nurses. i play with one friend everyday and every time we play she either instantly finds us and slug us or we have a team mate that DC on down or when they notice we are up against a nurse. WE NEED AN UPDATE ON HER
nurse abilities mechanics are OUTDATED and needs a whole rework. matches are ending within 5 mintues and thats pretty unfair
PLEASE BHVR REWORK NURSE
Let's break this down. You said every time you play against Nurse :
- instantly finds us and slug us or
- we have a team mate that DC on down or
- (DC) when they notice we are up against a nurse
So, in reply:
- This is a potential result with any killer with good mobility (Blight, Billy etc) especially if they're running Lethal Pursuer. The slugging aspect applies potentially to every killer - not a Nurse issue so no change required here.
- Wholly a survivor decision and happens with every killer - not a Nurse issue so no change required here.
- Wholly a survivor decision
Now, for 2 & 3 above I will happily concede that people DC more against a Nurse but that's on them, not BHVR. In case the response is "They only DC 'cause Nurse is broken/no fun/OP" again, that's entirely an issue of that survivor. From your statement you and your friend don't DC even though you don't like playing against Nurse so it's not like it's compulsory and there are definitely people who like playing against Nurse (they show up in most of these innumerable "NERF NURSE!" threads) so again, not really an issue that requires a rework.

ALL the killers need to be within one tier of each other. Nurse/Blight (spirit with best addons) are "S" tier. The next 10 best killers are "A" tier. And then there are a handful of "C" listers who are absolute trash like Doctor.
It's fine for Nurse and Blight to be "S" tier if everyone else is "A"tier. Nerf Nurse/Blight to be "A tier" (and spirit's addons) AND nerf SWF. Nerf SWF by limiting them to no Character, Item , Perk or Offering repeats. Lock loadouts except outfits during queue.

Billy was unfair in a bad way (too strong) in 2016 when he had the ability to flick and make a chainsaw attack at a different angle than his chainsaw sprint. Billy is unfair in 2022 in the opposite direction (too weak).
He has :
- nerfed steering (his steering limits were changed years ago)
- been given a roar for no reason when sawing
- lost any remotely good addon
- lost the ability to "zoom" around the map from gen to gen due to map design changes
- to play more precise than nurse/Blight for a lesser outcome. So why bother?
Funny Enough Ardetha comes to the same conclusion in his video.
Insta Saw honestly really wasnt even that bad after they changed tinkerer. Also you need to go back and look at 2016 maps to see what kinda BS we had. Anyone remember the Old iron works of misery infinite window?
This is a picture of my account so you know how much I spent playing this killer in the past.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HAA9UURW1WST/image.png
We should really just revert Billy back to 2016 version (post flick nerf). Add the overheat mechanic so that : If Billy uses the saw so that his terror radius overlaps a hooked survivor then his saw will have an overheat mechanic. Make there be no addons that affect overheat.
And then this killer will be worth playing again.
Mate, you're preaching to the choir - Billy was my first killer main and I was arguing that he wasn't universally hated/OP before and I still tear up looking at what they've done to him!
