  • This would be really nice. Despite being on the east coast sometimes I'm shunted to south America.

Bro we had 2 prestige 100 fangs going against him and we all died without being able to do anything, not just a me issue

Unfortunately prestige means absolutely nothing and double unfortunately, this is a team game. A couple weak links means everyone loses.

Even looking only at the contents of the specific forum message you're responding to, that's two of thirty-two, not one.

This is, of course, putting aside how silly it is to assume I meant literally only Trapper and Singularity are getting updates as far as the killer role is concerned.

You're talking about trapper? They said the most vague, minimizing statement possible about him. Again in the anniversary stream, there is nothing about killer gameplay or updates. They toss crumbs here and there to individual killers. In the grand scheme of the game it means very little.

I'll never forget the qna when Patrick was around when they just went on and on about survivor improvements and one dude popped up and said "hey killers are getting stuff too" and the others just looked annoyed at him. That's the attitude, shown over and over. Killers are there to facilitate survivors, not have their own agency.

  • @jesterkind said:

Then why're they giving a killer whose stats are fine an update? Seems like the only reason they'd do that would be to make the killer more fun to play.

Same for the Singularity changes that are coming up soon. Why improve a killer, if they literally do not care about the killer experience playing the game?

One new killer is hardly indicative of the killer experience as a whole.

"Singularity, one out thirty two killers is being changed. Doesn't that make your happy???"

Watch the anniversary stream and point out one single thing they said about improving the experience for killer players. It's nothing. Killers are set dressing to enable survivor gameplay.

  • They literally do not care about the killer experience playing the game.

  • @AngelOfHope2017 said:

Does anyone know if they are updating the EMPs on the new killer? Because they need to be nerfed.

    @dbd900bach said:

I wanna know what people think, and generally get a viewpoint of how people are experiencing them.

Singularity is a good killer, and he had tons of potential, especially since more people are finding that his optimal playstyle doesn't revolve around placing every single pod around the gens.

But there's certain situations in which a lot of people are finding the emps to be too oppressive and they often feel like they have no power, so how should emps be tweaked?

It HAS to be just a slight tweak though. If emps are flat out nerfed, the Singularity will quickly become one of the most oppressive killers in the entire game. Up there with Nurse and Blight. So how do we tweak things so that Hux doesn't feel miserable to play, but not OP either?

Mandy addresses upcoming changes in this thread. There's also a tweet about it but that requires going to Twitter. Gross.

They need to do something about healing in general. I feel cheated on points that I used on purple med kits that could now be used to get more brown med kits. I wish they'd put the med kits back, or make it more viable to use self-care. Right now the only decent option is Inner Healing, which still takes time to find the totems and cleanse them. I want med kits back to how they were. They are worthless now, especially to solo survivors who can't rely on randoms. It seems that a majority of recent changes do hurt solo survivors more than SWFs.

Haha yeah I bet you do. Bonus appeal to solo bad.

    Run leader. Underrated perk.

Even you do that, your teammates are still not seeing your aura. So you have nothing and just pray to someone notice you. This perk is just so unhealthy for solo survivors.

Yeah I get it. Solo bad. Source of all evil in the world. I've heard it before.

If you crawl somewhere central you've got a better chance of your teammates running by you. Last time I played vs knockout it was a plague on temple of purgation. Everybody just started crawling toward the middle of the map whenever we got downed and we ended up winning. If you do it others will probably catch on. Oh yeah that was horrible no good solo queue by the way.

  • Crawl somewhere central.

  • I guess most of an entire continent that plays the game is just wrong, then.

The thing is, people don't like that the main gameplay feature of the game is removing their ability to play.

Killers in these forums frequently moan about survivors having no counterplay under certain situations, but when the guy that someone stared for 2 minutes and had to leave the match with 2000 BP after using a BP offering complains about facecamping, killers come out to defend this "strategy". "There's 4 of you, you can still win", "Sometimes killers can't do anything and that's the only way they can get some points", "There's too much gen speed, this is survivor's fault", "Well, survivors "tunnel" generators, so what are we supposed to do"...

In the end, instead of all agreeing that the game should have comeback mechanics for both sides and that at no point in the match standing still should be the best strategy (facecamping, gate camping and 3-gen setups, off the top of my head), people would rather just defend unfun and unengaging gameplay because "Well, I lost this match, so I have to resort to low counter strategies because I am soooo high level and these survivors are 100% SWF".

To put it in the same way you did with survivors and the gates being immediately powered: Even if not facecamping gave survivors a 100% repair speed penalty, losing a SINGLE game would still make these types of killers feel like facecamping is justified. People don't like losing and don't like admitting their own faults, so if they can cheap out a kill, they will, with 0 regret.

They are playing. Sometimes in CSGO I get my head popped right out the gate. I'm still playing the game, just waiting for the next round. When the killer kills you, you are playing the game. Not how you want, but you're playing it.

Also I find the "killers this" and "killers that" tribalism just so so so tiring. Demonizing a whole ass half of the game for what reason? It's pointless.

  • @fulltonon said:

Not sure if anti-face camp gonna fix it or anything, do you just unhook yourself and immediately get tunneled by same killer who facecamped you, and resulting faster hook state? that actually makes facecamping more feasible, because it'll be most efficient method of tunneling.

If you can't use the BT and subsequent speed boost to get to a safe loop you're probably doing something very wrong.

If you're truly concerned about it being to your detriment to take your free deliverance; simply do not do so.

  • If it weren't at one gen and were at 3-4 the complaining would be the same. After the change the complaints will still be the same. If the gates were immediately powered on being loaded into a trial people would complain about not spawning next to an open gate.

I see face camping like one out of every twenty matches. That's being conservative. It's really not a huge deal but this community has to be hyperbolic about everything.

  • I'm sure the people trying to avoid invisible Wesker will care

They were looking directly at the charms before hitting us, but didn't do this to our one teammate who had no charms. Then harassed us in endgame chat.

So this is like.... Once? What do you think BHVR can do about it?

  • I made all my hook charms pride charms to spite bigots. I've never received a single homophobic remark in endgame chat, just the usual survivor to killer abuse wishing harm on me and my family.

So, I've gotta ask: how do you know someone hitting you on hook is due to a charm? There's no real way to indicate it.

Clown was better for a lot of us the way he was compared to the way he is now. Don't matter how good something is if we don't like using it to begin with. That's how I feel about antidote bottles, sure they can be interesting, but I don't use them and I addons I used all the time and were comfortable with have turned into antidote addons. It killed my entire drive to play clown because I was fine with how he was.

I'd give up antidote bottles in a second for exhaustion bottles back.

It's funny because huntress got to keep her exhaustion addon.

The point being? Is being so jaded that you just assume optiomised builds with best add-ons, tunneling, camping, slugging and generally sweating to the point where it seems like your life depends on it and you get un-alived if you lose another gen required now? I observed that my experience from a couple days ago vs today is vastly different and was wondering if there's a reasonable explanation for it.

There's not even a hard and fast definition for "camping and tunneling". It's just bland complaining about the killer doing stuff we don't like. Complaining and commiserating just for the sake of it. It's tiresome.

I'm not gonna address all the other weird stuff you said about like iri add-ons(most are pointless)? And slugging? Just bizzare.

The entire mo of the recent nerfs was for overused things, killers shouldn’t be exempt

Yeah, and that's bad game design. Nerfing toy sword and Marvin's blood was a bad move.

  • @Hawk81584 said:

Hopefully they nerf him since he’s overused, we gotta keep the meta changing. His pick rate is too high

You shouldn't want things nerfed just because people enjoy them. It's healthier to buff things that are not used instead of breaking the popular toy.

That being said, I hate wesker. His map mobility is very good, he has the terror radius doctor should have which makes me feel bitter, his second corrective dash is impossible to miss with and he's in every other game.

  • The gall to say this after the last round of regression nerfs. The lack of self awareness.

  • Ah, the weekly version of this post. Like clockwork.

It's the most used perk on this game, this means a lot... It's a surprise there are people who thinks it's fine, but with that rate of use I should've expect it.

That doesn't mean anything. You don't Just randomly nerf stuff because people like it. That's poor game balance. You have to look at the context to determine whether or not something needs to be changed.

  • Everyone knows it's busted. There's been in depths posts about the math, cost-benefit analysis

The people using it don't care. They want to keep their busted toy because messing with the "other side" is more important to them than ensuring everyone has fun.

  • It's fine. It doesn't make gens go faster. It doesn't heal faster. It doesn't increase movement speed. All it does is expose how busted the maps are. Let's work on that first.

  • Hux is really awful. I've only seen him three times and I've escaped every time. I am not good at survivor. Bodes poorly for the killer.

  • Nah. Give it a timer like lucky break.

  • Ah, hello fellow killer main. Coming from me, a killer main just like you this seems like a really fair and balanced idea.

  • Also while I'm at it I don't think constant meta changes are good for dead by daylight.

  • High usage does not necessarily correlate to high power or needing a change. See: windows of opportunity, adrenaline and lithe.

  • This is legitimately the only fomo I can get behind. Had to play back then.

  • They should literally just scrap it. It's sunk cost fallacy m

I dunno, I feel like you only get hits with Knight's power if the survivors mess up, I really don't think Made For This is taking away something you'd get against more competent opponents.

Even if it does, that just pushes you to use his power in different ways, it doesn't remove it entirely.

What different ways? To kick gens? It's not like he's got a lot of options

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3456295#Comment_3456295

You don't really use Knight's power to deal damage, though, so the survivors being faster than the guards doesn't really matter that much? They still have to run away, meaning you're still getting them flushed out in the direction you want them to be running.

Yeah you do. It's a nice bonus. Made fur this precludes it entirely.

  • @VadersRage6 said:

Idk why people hate going against him I have a blast and I'd rather play him over alot Killers in this game so I don't get it

I don't hate going against him in a vacuum. I hate going against him over and over

  • I'm really enjoying the Wesker break tbh. I've been vs like 8 different killers today. It's lovely.

Not hux once so far, lol

  • I'm sure they're coming.

  • .... Huh. That's an interesting thought. It'd certainly change how he plays and how you play against him. Pump fakes would be less effective but I think it'd even out.

  • This is rather selfish of me, but I like the current MMR because it's very easy to game. When I start going up against super tough teams I put on a chill build, two hook everyone and tank my MMR. I don't want to have to struggle every game with no recourse.

  • @jesterkind said:

I imagine it'd be "nothing", considering they're not only looking at Skull Merchant but also tackling the 3-gen problem in general too.

There is no "3 gen problem". The problem is skull merchant being able to camp and hold one from the very beginning. Not every killer can do that, and none of them can do it like she can.

  • I run leader and have zero problem getting healed. Counters sloppy too.

  • All of these are really simple, good ideas that are genuine quality of life.

  • You've gotta take this us vs. them garbage out to the curb with the rest of the trash. It benefits no one.

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3454502#Comment_3454502

Of course it can get nerfed.

Basically only movement speed aspect is problematic.

You could replace it with faster healing speed (downed survivors) and it would be great anti slugging perk.

I like the idea of a limited duration like lucky break.

  • Blindness is caused by exactly four perks. Third seal, which is a hex so automatically bad with the caveat you have to hit everyone for it to be fully active.

Fearmonger, which lasts for five seconds.

Knock out, you're on the ground so it mostly doesn't matter anyway.

Septic touch. Be honest: have you ever seen septic touch?

There's killer add-ons that cause blindness, but those are all contingent on interacting with the killer. Mostly blindness counters Windows. It's the weakest status effect in the game.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

That's the problem with the meta though, because the meta has been too strong for years so every perk that has been able to change it has done so because it's overpowered. Just like Made for This is. It was the same thing with Circle of Healing. The meta was the same for forever until that perk got introduced and it completely warped the meta because of how strong and busted it was. It made healing the most efficient it had been in a long time. The only other thing that has changed the meta is the meta perks being nerfed directly, several of which have been.

Anyways, no, MFT is completely unfair. It's fun to use, sure, but it's because it's completely broken. Either one of its two effects would be a really strong perk on its own and this perk gives you both.

As far as counters go like Fearmonger, Blood Echo, etc., you shouldn't be expected to HAVE to have a counter to a perk in order to outplay it. Counters should be nice to have and something you bring because you want to, not something you bring because you feel like you HAVE to. It's not good design and it's not a good argument as to why something isn't overpowered. This is why BT is basekit now. It's ridiculous to expect your opponent to bring a certain perk, killer, item, or addon just to counter something that you may not even have. And that goes for both sides. Before Eruption got nerfed I used to see some killers say "just run Empathy to counter it so you can let go of gens" (which wasn't even a consistent strategy) and it was one of the silliest things I'd ever seen.

I love seeing people say "fearmonger, blood echo, etc....." And just kinda trail off. Because those are the options you have. Every other exhaustion-causing perk is terrible. And even among those two blood echo is horribly inconsistent. Gotta have an injured survivor, gotta hook while they're injured, can't hook during the cooldown. Come on. It's not a viable perk; it's a meme.

As opposed to the mountainous activation requirement of made for this: get injured once. Lol.

  • @MDRSan said:

The endurance is a nice bonus, but the triggering criteria is highly situational. If you’re facing the full 10 seconds as killer, I suggest you hit the survivor standing directly beside the one that was just healing them - no endurance there. Or just deal with the fact that you aren’t downing the person with endurance for the next 10 seconds. The horror. Having a free health state for 10 seconds max in highly situational circumstances is really not that big of a deal.

The haste is a nice little boost but it costs being 1 hit away from being downed and they’re still not faster than the killer. There’s a reason everyone doesn’t run no mither. Stacking with hope is irrelevant until exit gates are powered and it’s still not like it teleports you to the inside of a gate. If a player builds around a set of circumstances then it makes sense that when those circumstances occur they are at an advantage. Otherwise, what’s the point of perks?

It's fun watching people perform gymnastics to try and pretend like made for this is either weak(?) or has some sort of cost. Seems like a good way to throw out your back or disjoint something.

Blood Echo counters this perk at the source, try it for a few games and you’ll see how consistent it is on the killers it’s supposed to work on. There are perks to apply exhaustion in different ways for killers, and for sure they’re working on more new to come with the next killers. Let’s embrace new metas more.

I'm literally one of the only people you'll ever see running blood echo. It's not consistent even on legion. It's got a hefty cooldown and we'll make it is prevalent enough that'll it'll frequently only proc on one survivor. Then you've gotta find and chase the one survivor it's actually working on. It's really really not a good perk. And like I've already said, those other perks that do exhaustion are terrible and extremely conditional.
