Thank you! It’s something I’ve wanted for a while. I'm a huge Chucky fan and am so glad I received them for Christmas! I hope everything is going well and you have had a wonderful holiday!

That's awesome! I love Chucky as well… easily my favorite horror killer xD

I've been really eyeing this Iron Studios Chucky statue (I collect figures), but I am debating between that or an actual doll like the one you have 😁

    Untitled Image

Also thank you, and Happy New Year! My holidays were very relaxing 😄 hope you had a great one too.

  • Oh wow, that's amazing! Congrats :D

The design is good for what the mechanic does, stops face camping. Now if you think it should be improved or built upon, I won’t argue with you. But saying it’s useless and doesn’t achieve anything is wrong. It does what it’s designed to do.

The problem here is people have moved the goal posts from face camping to just camping and act like the Devs don’t do anything to improve their experience, forgetting how BT became base-kit (which people still don’t appreciate and claim is useless) and how Hook Grabs have been eliminated.

And yes, plenty want immunity and for rescues to be completely safe. If they don’t, they wouldn’t expect to be able to go toe to toe with a camping Killer and succeed (you already have someone in this thread implying this should be the case) and they wouldn’t be asking for teleporting hooks.

You are failing to see the gray area in a bad mechanic. Just because on paper it says "Good for face camping" it doesn't mean it stops it. The loop hole that exists is proof that is is NOT a greatly designed mechanic. So yes it is useless when it's not serving as any other purpose other than to say it's there.

I guarantee you there there are more people who have found this useless more than not. Camping as a concept has been one of the the core issues with this game since the start, this is not a good step in the right direction. Face-camping isn't the only aspect of Camping as a whole that was already an issue.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

It’s not Anti-Camp. It’s Anti-Face Camp. It’s meant to give Survivors more of a chance to coordinate a rescue, not make them immune to all of camping. Seeing as how the Killer had to stay outside of its range so it doesn’t procc, it’s doing its job.

I’m also pretty sure the Killer would have been happy for you to go next. It’s your teammates who are the ones that are affected the most.

Tbf the name sort of becomes irrelevant when you realize that it is just about as useful as not having it in the first place.

I don’t think anybody wants complete immunity but I have to laugh when the killer can stand just outside of the radius and still accomplish their goal as if they were face camping. The design for this feature is pretty bad.

The most likely reason that they announced it so far in advance is to try and mitigate the inevitable backlash for supporting and collaborating with a man who actively funds anti-LGBTQ hate.

Financially supporting someone whose money goes towards hateful bigotry tends to come with PR issues.
BHVR are most likely hoping that they can get all that out of the way in advance, so that Gamers™ have forgotten the controversy and bigotry by the time the actual release comes around.

Trust me, we won't forget this one.

Maybe they hope a new leader will re-instate a lot of the protections that were taken away by the guy whom Scott supported through his financial gains.

Don't get me wrong, I love DBD… but this was truly a slap in the face for the LGBTQ community.

I do think something has to be said about the single issue voter problem, and that there is something different when it extends to a wealthy public figure and large donations. It isn't quite the same thing as an individual exercising their democratic right to vote, votes which are after all private. We wouldn't be having these conversations if it were the same thing.

Much like how there is a difference between an individual "expressing a personal opinion", and a public figure using their vast fortune and social platform to soapbox an anti-trans agenda.

It ultimately comes down to an inequality of power, and how that power is weilded.

I understand that and perhaps my comment didn't expand on that enough. I was just clarifying how disingenuous his apology sounds because it's like he is saying "I don't want to disrespect this group or cause any harm to them but I am voting for the person that could harm them because of the one issue that's important to me". Yes I know that's not what he said word for word but it's what he means.

My disappointment is when people who have been vocal allies only to become less concerned when it hits their pockets. It's the entire reason I will no longer support some streamers (which I won't name on here) that did the same thing with HL. Vocal up until it interfered with their pockets.

Not that it bothers me but this sure seems like a double standards on BHVR

This. They (BHVR) have a pinned message at this very moment from about almost 2 years ago that shares a unique experience and the level of impact that inclusivity has on some of us. This was right upon when they revealed David was a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Which I think many of us shared a similar experience, and celebrated this wholesome moment.

It would be rather absurd not to take notice of the baggage and controversy that comes with FNAF creator's questionable choices. It seems odd but not surprising (as a company) that BHVR would want to embrace this brand as future collaboration content. It is a shame because it sort of diminishes their efforts and backtracks on their message, even if that isn't what they mean to do.

My personal opinion is that I personally don't care about the brand itself or it's creator. Even with his apology, his reasoning sounds like a single issue voter problem without the understanding the full scope of what's at stake (I have some of those in my family). We can dissect his history and go down that rabbit hole all we want, at the end of the day we are all free to make choices, even if those choices are wrong.

  • You must be new. Game has never been more killer sided than it is now.

  • The devs already know that you raise gen times, and killers have more time to Camp/Tunnel.

So no, gen times are fine.

  • Claudette…

(not necessarily lore related but) something about her cries while she is on the floor breaks my heart. :\

    It’s a pretty easy solution

just make jean grey dark Phoenix and she can be the next dbd killer. She can wipe out every survivor with her power…

She would be too OP xD she would destroy the entity and take over. 😂

  • @I_CAME said:

My guy the kill rate has risen by more than 10% since 6.1. Weak killers are being buffed left and right. Maps are being turned into massive deadzones with few good pallets. Do I need to go into how nearly every good survivor perk has been nerfed in the last few years? How can you objectively look at the state of the game and pretend like the devs favor survivors?

If you really want to balance around high level play then give all survivors voice comms and make the MMR strict like it is in actual competitive games. If they did that you guys would change your mind about balancing around high level gameplay because you would be playing against a SWF every match at high MMR. People say they want to balance around high level players but don't actually want to play against high level players.

Seems like some of these people either didn't read or started playing the game after patch 6.1.0. (arguably a very killer sided patch) where the devs also thought that by increasing gen speeds was going to make players run other perks.

At this point they could literally make every gen take 5 mins and these people would STILL run the same loadouts, guaranteed.

  • From my experience and as someone who made Chucky his main at release. I never thought scamper was that much of an issue, I've always thought Hidey-ho mode needed a longer cooldown than 18 seconds because there is very little skill catching up to a survivor as long as it is available.

  • The fact that they nerfed it and say it's "too effective" clearly shows that the dev team doesn't quite understand ( I won't say their game because I'd like to think they are competent than that) but the tunneling playstyle.

For those of us who are not so new and have been tunneled more times than one could count, we have become immune to it at this point because it is a playstyle that is almost expected for how effective it has become. It is a tool that even some killers who might not tunnel right off the bat, keep in their back pocket JUST IN CASE…. to the point that the word effective really just means easier.

So with the reasoning behind the nerf, I have to ask… what measures are they taking to balance tunneling where it doesn't require a perk to weaken such a playstyle? The fact that we have to rely on a perk from a character that you either have to purchase or play enough to hopefully see the perk in the SoS , while there are more than 100 perks existing in-game that have little to no impact on single handedly one of the the most powerful playstyles (nevermind the fact that its obnoxious as well) is wild to me.

  • I would argue that SWF is balanced and Solo Queue is unbalanced but not for the reasons you think.

Matchmaking makes solo queue a nightmare, because you are now not only having to worry about The Killer and their perks/playstyle but also The Survivors and their perks/playstyle. The only thing that SWF gives you that impacts the game (to an extent) that tilts the scales is reliability… Why? Because this ensures that people WILL be on gens, that players WILL take hits where it matters, that players WILL trade hooks if they have to…. the list goes on. Most of those things require a choice from the player themselves, and most of them aren't willing to do any of them because they feel as though they gain nothing or they are just being selfish. Not realizing the impact it will have on completing their objective.

  • I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that for the past few years they have nerfed maps + loops. Meaning that it has only made it EASIER for killers to play this way.

It doesn't make sense that survivors "get better" while killers keep getting their hand held via making it easier to tunnel.

Using phrases like "Tunneling is healthy for the game" is boderline cringe. 🤷‍♂️

  • Hmm, I'm missing the part where they needed a buff. 🤷‍♂️

  • @Pulsar said:

Deadlock, Corrupt, PR, Grim, Lethal, etc etc.

All of these perks give the Killer the ability to tunnel out at 5 gens and win handedly.

Some people are still stuck in the past when even the developers would say "do gens".

Even without acknowledging these perks, anyone who plays enough understands that maps have shrunk (giving the killer even less map area to cover) loops have become more unsafe, further making this playstyle more attractive for players. It's a shame that we have only a handful of perks to combat this playstyle, because we are practically forced to play like we're gen ticks in order to give the other 3 people a chance.

  • You just hope that you'll have decent teammates and a killer that isn't playing like they're going for the Taco Bell gift card.

    Gutted survivor perks

    Broken killer perks

    Broken killers getting buffed

Maps with built in dead zones

Yeah, so hard to play killer these days.

Don’t forget reducing map sizes also favors one side. Otherwise you nailed it 👏

It really nothing that can be done. T bagging, head nodding, hook hitting. flashlight clicking, even floor humping a thing apparently.... Can't really stop these things. What can u do realistically? Make flashlights only able to be click once every dozen of seconds?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/409475/teabagging

how do u put flashlights on cool down without interrupting normal gameplay? People spam flashlights at killer carrying survivors, killing going through windows, and signaling stealth Killers out. How will u limit flashlight clicking without affecting gameplay?

as absurd as it may sound, some of them would probably say that yes flashlights should be on constant cooldown. 🤡

People often forget that in order for that “t bag” to work you have to on your end receive it the way they want. I’ve been “humped” on the floor for no reason before and I just think it looks stupid (except Chucky cuz it looks hilarious 😂) The point is you control how you want to receive it.

i love this argument, my dude the game is DESGINED for the survivors to have an advantage early game it's designed for killers to have an advantage end game and for them to get two kills and two escapes so stop saying "Oh if u haven't killed any1 survivors should get health states for doing nothing." no, it's the opposite actually. This argument is dumb and ppl need to stop.

you either get an early game advantage or you get an endgame advantage you can't have both.

Oh you speak of "Early advantage" like if Camping and Tunneling at 5 gens is not a thing. 😂

It's not about how things are meant to be designed, that doesn't take away from the fact that it IS a balanced perk and one that is high risk (because you may be dead) high reward ( a health state).

But go ahead and keep popping off about things you don't understand.

PS. "For doing nothing" *Laughs in 5 gens being completed*

  • Hard disagree.

If you still have all survivors alive by the time the last gen is done that's on you.

I dont get the complaints either, after adrenaline gets nerfed i suspect players still wont be satisfied and will continue to complain about other perks to get them nerfed as well

The funny part is that there are currently 137 survivor perks. Yet they focus on the same handful of perks rather than improving the ones that nobody is using. 🤣

Cuz god forbid the survivors get a health state and a mini sprint for completing 5 generators. 😳

    @JeanGreyarea said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3676789#Comment_3676789

Not a good comparison as those perk can activate multiple times. I feel like a better comparison would be no way out. Both are endgame perks, activate one time and reward you for playing well

Agreed. Imagine if after each generator is completed survivors receive a health state. That would be a much even comparison.

Also PS. LOVE the name! x

  • Lol imagine people complaining about Adrenaline a perk that literally requires survivors to complete their objective in order to activate.

Meanwhile ( I know you Us vs Them people don't want to hear it so cover your ears) you have No Ed being activated BY survivors too (you're welcome) and its like crickets, no one saying peep.

At this point spare me your Adrenaline complaints. 🤷‍♂️

  • First off, just because you are in a 4-player squad does NOT make them a "Bully Squad" . I know a lot of you would like to think that but just because everyone likes to use the term doesn't make it true.

Second, I don't care if the killer knows or doesn't know. What I do know is that the moment they know, they will either bring the sweatiest builds, play in the scummiest of ways. Simply because people are trying to play together, and that's not cool with me. 🤷‍♂️

It would be like if we knew who the killer we were facing was. "You're playing against a Skull Merchant".... *Every survivor puts on a genrush build*. Same philosophy.

Isn't one of the main points for the existence of perks to counter existing play styles?

By this logic it should be egregious that players try to repair gens simply because gen regression perks exist.

    You don't understand my point.

If that was the case then OTR and Reassurance would have been a thing from the beginning of the game. Also 'countering' is a strong word for something that merely delays it.

  • @Pulsar said:

Consider this, it doesn't matter if you take the Killer on a minute long chase. With the amount of anti-loop powers and the average map being filled with deadzones, I'd say a minute is a long chase.

When they have perks like Deadlock or PR or Grim stacked on top of natural slowdown (healing, unhooking, chases etc etc) they can afford to get destroyed in chases and still win handedly.

    Abso-effing-lutely. 👏

You can neither prevent nor stop Tunneling. They want you out, you will be out... its just a matter of time.

The devs do not seem to consider the effect certain perk combos have that only grants the killer EXTRA time to play the same exact way they have been for years. At this point I just assume everyone is bringing Pain Res/Grim Embrace/Pop/Deadlock. Meanwhile I have to bring OTR and Reassurance in every build in the event the killer feels like Tunneling or Camping. Nothing to do with actual chases... or that would directly impact the main objective, it's just me trying to counter a playstyle that simply exists.

  • Because winning is clearly important to them.

It doesn’t need to be dealt with that’s the biggest thing I wanna advocate for. We need to stop creating this image of the game in our heads that killers are our fairy godmothers and are all trying to get on everyone‘s nice list. I turned on this horror game and chose the role of the killer and my goal is to win just like the standard objective is for almost all players on every game in history, to win. The problem is when players try to bring morality into the video game, again, remind you I’m playing the role of the killer, “the bad guy”… come on… let’s be serious here

So your idea is "I am killer my goal is to kill to I will abuse and execute under the most unfair gameplay tactics available to me"

GOOD, now you know why I said I don't think OTR is the problem when you can't even accept that your playstyle OF CHOICE is busted.

Its not about morality it is about common sense and game balance.

  • Talk to me about OTR changes when Tunneling and Camping are properly dealt with.

  • @OrangeBear said:

Well, it's not called a game mode. It's a modifier. Very important distinction.

I don't care what it's called... It's uninspiring, its just a FoV change with weakening survivor component with no new objective.

  • @Frizouw said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3643561#Comment_3643561

So are you saying remove points then?

because I know it will never go away completly but I am sure if there is an incentive, there will be less.

It shouldn't be attached to an "incentive" because many people do it out of spite because of how easy it is to do.

They could get 1 bil points for not tunneling and they'd still do it.

  • For years we have been preaching to the same choir about how Tunneling and really Camping too (sidenote: I know your OP is about Tunneling) are the reasons that are ruining their game.

The problem to me appears to be the disconnect between what they want their game to BE and what it actually IS. Why? Because used to they would say "If you're getting camped or the killer tunnels focus gens", mind you this is even written as a TIP! for newer players which is ridiculous. Now that doesn't work because gen times were extended (see update 6.1) while perks have also been introduced (No Way Out, Ultimate Weapon, DeadLock etc) that only ENHANCED the playstyle.

So what I mean when I say that they want their game to play a certain way, is that they think repairing generators as fast as possible is the solution to these playstyles they couldn't be more wrong. Tunneling is neither prevented nor avoided, it can be slowed down depending on MAP/Set ups RNG and the survivor bringing in OTR/DS but other than that there isn't much you can do. Nevermind the fact that those two playstyles are huge contributors to why killers get away with certain things... and yet the devs treat them as if they are only a small percentage of what happens during a match.

So when it comes to rewarding the killer with points so they are encouraged not to tunnel, I respecfully disagree because they don't honestly care about more points when they can easily get over 30k points by tunneling someone out first... and also most people who tunnel do it because its there. They do not require a "reason", and this should certainly not factor in when we are talking about something that would balance the game. Like imagine if BHVR added a way to immediately finish a gen in 5 seconds, but only if the survivors "chose" to depending on how they were feeling that day? It would be just as ridiculous as what is happening now.

Hi John, yes certain perks can encourage certain play styles, but they are ultimately play styles, a style of gameplay players choose to play. Perks like that have always existed but apparently now we’re at a point where we see a usable perk for either side and jump at the chance to cry online about it. Either way, UW in its description does not even promote camping at all. Maybe read and come back once you’re done? Have a blessed night

Who is saying a perk needs to promote camping in it's wording? Killers will use it to the best of their ADVANTAGE.

Do you realize that most killers now Camp/Tunnel because it has never been easier for them to do so than it is now? UW contributes to the problem plaguing this game (Camping/Tunneling) and it's part of the reason killers bring it more often than not.

We're not even talking about a perk that rewards the killer here. They are literally opening a locker and that's their only action for what they get in return.

  • Hook a survivor - Open a locker - Scream - Continue to camp

    Rinse/Repeat.

No, thank you. They can nerf it to the ground.

  • I don't feel is weaponizing when the killer is forcing a trade.

  • I agree.

Anti-facecamp mechanic PHASE 2 needs to happen.

Currently you can idle away from the hook and camp through not just 1 but 2 hook phases without procc'ing the unhook yourself option.

  • Honestly they need to rework ALL survivor items IMO.

Most are out-dated and not creative at all. They focus way too much on generator speed/hooks.

I do like your suggestions though.

This temporary measure became permanent measure for killer to get near free hits over-time regardless of how crap they play. if your good at looping as survivor, you get punished. If your bad at survivor then you won't last long enough to trigger BL.

    1000%

You basically can have a survivor out-game a killer legitimately, but because BL exists and kicks in, most pallets won't matter after BL because by that point they are so fast they can easily go around and get a hit.

  • @Pulsar said:

    No.

A Killer should not be guaranteed a hit on a Survivor no matter their skill difference.

It lacks any meaningful counterplay and is EXACTLY why old Legion was so ass. Was he going to win? No. Was he going to chase and down people with nothing they could possibly do about it? Yes.

Having anti-loop is fine. Being an anti-loop Killer primarily is not fine.

The same people that are ok with anti-loop being their primary design are also the same people that are quick to disregard anyone who holds W. As if the developers actually create/design anti loop powers with a counter. Nevermind the fact that the maps never change to balance this brand new mechanic that barely (if at all) fits in this game (See Skull Merchant).

Some of the answers were downright out of touch. Particularly their answer regarding solo. "Friends were together more than the average human" or something to that effect. Really? You think teamwork is the biggest issue in solo queue? Not the fact that one player in that lobby will go down instantly 3 times and the killer won't be able to down another survivor in that same lobby? That skill gap between teammates isn't the issue? It's...teamwork?

I would say there is at least a little bit of truth to that.

The reason I believe this is because many times in solo queue I’ve had killers say “nice SWF” because of how many hits we took, how many gens were getting done, how many times we were basically willing to protect teammates not because we were actually queued up together. That is all TEAMWORK qualities.

So while it may not be the only thing lacking in solo queue, it is most definitely relevant and part of the reason that solo queue is insufferable. Not everyone is willing cooperate to at least a level they can pretend they are in sync of what’s happening. Teammate on death hook and getting tunneled? Oops let me get out of the way killer. Gen almost done but only one commits? Teammate has taken 0 aggro but others willing to do gens get found first? Too bad. That isn’t exactly being skilled it’s just down right being unreliable.

  • WOW I’ve never known a game where they let you level up your character to level up their abilities and stuff !! 😏

  • I don't think tunneling is healthy for the game nor is it the most fun part of the game.

I think the idea that I am in "danger" simply because the killer decided to come back while in a game where I cannot fight back is not well-designed. Perks can help but that is not the point at all IMO, it's also the reason I never take off OTR because I feel like one mistake (on the killer's part) and they switch to the easiest thing (tunnel).

No person wearing a flat cap will ever convince me otherwise.

See, ultimately you are literally just telling "no it's different" without actually thinking the value of those perks, disregarding nurse "just because it's nurse" already tells you didn't even try to use your brain, when it's exactly same situation as those perks.

Thinking any decent survivors can't utilize 3% haste is ridiculous, all they need to do is just run and it will give them value literally no matter what, it's just a fact.

You just need to let killers break a pallet or two and it will immensely increase the chase duration, even 100 hour survivors can do that.

Because everyone knows that Nurse is exactly as what you used to describe him... "DIDNT NEED EVEN TRY TO USE YOUR BRAIN".

That sums up Nurse in a nutshell.

Tunneling implies tunnel-visioning on one single objective. Survivors have one objective, ergo, they literally can't tunnel gens.

Eruption, CoB, Overcharge, PR, DMS plus all of the basekit Killer buffs WERE the carrot. Killers decided they wanted to keep tunneling and camping because it was easy; so we're trying the stick now.

    Exactly this.

Whats funny is that as hard as they try to fit this word into everything, it doesn’t even make sense. Because in essence if survivors were really “tunneling” gens that would mean that they’d be able to complete their objective by pressuring the same gen. In other words popping the same gen and getting 5 gens worth of objective progress… but who cares about that right? We’re just trying to make a word make sense right? 🤭

‹ 1 2 3 … 116
