1.) Yes, I did. If Survivors are using Prove consistently, they aren't being efficient. It is NEVER efficient to group up on any gen besides the last one. Prove saves VERY little time, something like seven seconds. It's a TERRIBLE perk and is a complete noob trap. It's something that both Killers and Survivors see and go, "Here, this one speeds up gens, it's the problem/solution!"
2.) He didn't take them seriously at first. After they started winning, he started malding and got tilted. I can't really blame him, I'd be pissed as ######### too, but he let that affect him and it shows. He beat teams like that before with little to no difficulty, so cherry-picking a single game out of two thousand is laughable and disingenuous.
3.) If you're gonna be nitpicky semantic about opinions, literally every point you tried to make in your original argument is an opinion.
4.) Yeah, that was literally my point in bringing it up. There's supposed to be some difference in power, but not the gulf that we have right now.
I responded to this but it didn’t quote it for some reason but you should be able to find the response by scrolling up a bit <3 :) Sorry for the inconvenience

- Comparing prove to shattered hope is outrageous considering you know it’s one of the worst killer perks ever which has never been popular unlike prove which really shined during the three gen meta considering breaking a three gen was and still is a priority. Even with your talking point that prove is only worth using in endgame at least it’ll come into play once in the match unlike shattered hope which 9 outta 10 times you’ll never even get to use.
2. im not cherry picking when I’ve never been in the cherry garden. That was the only match from the streak that I’ve watched and I’ve never heard of him beforehand. I deemed it appropriate to bring up as an example considering most people that keeps up with news within the community know about the incident.3. Sure of course, I have already admitted this post certainly contains personal bias to say that it doesn’t would be a disservice because I’m not an essay generator and what I write would be influenced by my own personal experience, the concerns I’ve heard expressed by other killers and my fear that seeing the same perks on every survivor would become the norm again. I find it healthy to hear the opposing view on matters to come to a middle ground when the subject is controversial. But I didn’t go and say a perk like prove is objectively bad
4. killer perks overpowering survivor perks shouldn’t come off as a shock because survivors have 16 perks while the killer have 4. Killers have 2 add ons while survivors have 8. -

I'm surprised to see that people didn't really hear a week or two ago that momoseventh, a comp player that mains blight, lost a 1947 game winstreak to a team running 4 OTR and 3 DS. The perk is absolutely meta even against S tiers, and if comp didn't enforce unique perks on survivors you would see it on everyone or nearly everyone in scrims. It's super strong.
I record my games on nightlight and decisive strike is the 10th most popular survivor perk that I run into when I play killer. That's for a reason - it's really good! This is at higher mmr though, I'm a p100 blight main so my games are against the strongest survivors matchmaking is willing to give me, which is not saying much lol. In my survivor games I've been playing with brand new friends and DS is definitely not a popular pick in low mmr
ya I also brought up Momo’s win streak lost and they completely dismissed me on it

let's settle to disagree. The points you have brought up come out of thin air and does not match my experience with this game, or the streamers i had occasionally watched playing. I also don't like arguing with people who pretend to have a good point but all they have laid out are logical traps to derail every other point about the topic at hand.
you have misread my intentions. I’m only expressing the concern me and other killer mains I’ve seen said or spoken to on this issue and putting it out there after putting it into words with the concerns I’ve heard expressed and of course through my own personal experience and biases which I won’t deny but I do believe it’s healthy to hearing an opposing view on the matter at hand and find a middle ground when dealing with such a controversial topic
-
I brought up the gen slowdown meta for killer as a mirror to show that the survivor equivalent of that (a gen speed/progression) build isn’t meta so why is a killer’s

""good survivors knows that it is still a great perk" stopped reading here. guilt tripping people to agree with your opinion means your opinion is trash. Talk about entitlement.
the same statement was made by the best most well-known players in the competitive/content creating community. The statement simply implies that there’s a skill difference between players and the players at a higher mmr or overall understanding of the game have a better understanding of how to get value from the perk compared to the lower mmr survivors. Which isn’t a bad thing it’s just real life but it shows that buffing it in the sake of the lower mmr survivors will only make it more abusable by the higher ones. Hopes this explanation suited you well enough that you didn’t choose to stop reading not even half way in, I understand reading things you don’t agree with isn’t the easiest but it’s the way to find communicate and hopefully find common ground

If you think the perk is weak against S tiers or something like that, that's okay. But to say that DS isn't a great perk is just wrong. It's so weird to me that some players seem to have this misconception and I wonder if that's what led to it being buffed in the first place. It's comfortably meta right now even with the 3 second stun. It had to get nerfed from 5 seconds, so it's odd to me that they opted to revert the stun time to 5 seconds instead of changing it to 4 first.
In my opinion, the way to buff DS (if it even needs a buff) is to make it give 10 or 15 seconds of endurance when it's used. It would barely change how it works against low tier killers, but would make it much stronger against S tiers.
so like a 15 seconds styptic? Making them able to make cross map distance before you can hit them or if you hit them you sit through the weapon wipe animation and have to catch up with them after the speed burst of being hit. Isn’t that just 5 seconds ds stun with more steps?

@ArkInk said:
"A common misconception is that as a survivor you have a right to not be tunneled."
Something about the way this statement is written is so funny to me. DBD is a video game, not a bill of rights.
It feels bad when you're playing a game and get taken out early, nobody wants to be the first one bankrupt in Monopoly. DBD's design just so happens to make it so that getting a player out of the match early is extremely advantageous for killer whilst feeling extremely bad as survivor because depending on the gen count, you know your comrades aren't going to be very far behind you.
Nobody has a right not to be tunneled, but we're all playing the same game here. Unless it's a necessary strat for the killer to do or the survivor is asking for it (seriously Nea Ormond is a big map and you're sitting injured behind a rock like the last three times you went for a Flash bang save), I don't see what most players get out of it.
ya I wrote it like that because some survivors really enforce the no tunneling rule like it’s written on the constitution. But with playing the survivor role, you have to understand you’re one of four and your lifespan in the game isn’t of value in the grand scheme of things and the killer is supposed to have enough power to tunnel you out early, by no means am I saying to just stand there and let them go for you for free, but the value you bring to your team increases as the time you build for them to complete the objective increases. Creating perks and basekit mechanics to limit the killer choices and survivor skill expression is lowering the skill ceiling for the game as a whole, meaning both sides are becoming easier and easier
-
@GeneralV said:
Current DS definitely isn't a "great" perk. It barely gives you time to do anything before the killer can resume the chase, and if you combine that with the severe lack of resources some maps have then there is little you can actually do if the killer wants you out of the as soon as possible.
No one expects a complete immunity to the killer after being hooked, but it is reasonable to expect a way to fight back.
”fight back” okay at this point just introduce pistols as an item and just shoot the killer because the initial idea from the devs were that the killers are threats and inflict fear in survivor to create a horror atmosphere.

Prove isn't even decent unless you are all stacking on a final gen, in which case other perks do it better. Saying that's subjective is like you saying, "Shattered Hope is not good" and then me saying, "That's an opinion actually, the perk is good!"
Momo lost because he threw. He didn't take them seriously and he got complacent. If you have multiple people with DS and OTR up, YOU ARE WINNING THE GAME. DH is bad, any perk that relies on ping is fundamentally bad.
Yes, obviously they need to be somewhat stronger by design.
- first of all, no way you just compared prove to shattered hope, you see a boon maybe once in 15 games and you waste a perk slot to “counter it” when they can just put it on another totem which you then have to waste time destroying again but there are 7 generators in every game and 4 survivors chances are likely there’ll be times where two are doubled up on a gen and if you think gen progression perks aren’t viable and not worth running then don’t worry about gen regression perks.
2. I watched his stream, him reviewing the game and his after thoughts. He was giving it his all. Let’s be real here, a comp team having ds otr on each and everyone of the survivor is an unwinnable game for even the top tier comp killers, that’s why in competitive settings there are rules implemented. And no way Momo would’ve lost if they didn’t all have ds otr, and I know you at least know that.
3. “Dh is bad” another opinion that’s subjective. Definition of the word subjective from Oxford language dictionary : based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.4. Thank you for agreeing. If you somehow debated with me on that that’d be concerning

Prove is not good lol.
Tunneling isn't good for the game, it can't be solved via perks.
DS has a shorter stun time than listed due to the animation. It's something around 1.5 seconds; which is literally nothing.
Killers already have that meta build. It's called stacking four slowdowns (stronger than Survivor perks, by design) and then tunneling someone out immediately.
”prove is not good lol” , an opinion, subjective
“tunneling isn’t good for the game” an opinion, subjective and differs based on the situation presented“Can’t be solved via perks” but a killer tunneling someone with ds otr dh basically just loses way too much time so he goes to the next guy, oh looky he also has ds otr dh, next guy, next guy, next guy, oops the gens are all gone? Prime example is Momoseventh losing his 1900+ blight win streak because everyone had otr ds (and that’s with the 3 seconds ds for future readers)
killer perks has to be “stronger, by design” because survivors 16 perks while the killer has only 4 -

I have watch all TTVs that I run into’s vods after the game because I like to see their reaction against my killer, countless times now… the ttv survivors reports me for “tunneling”, so it’s obvious that they genuinely believe it’s enough of a stigma to be considered a bannable offense, oh they also blocks me afterwards. I also get a lot of hate mails from players on my platform calling me very unkind names and threatening me because I tunneled them.

I am in OCE (Australia) but because of my work hours I often have to play at times where player numbers are low, so I use ExitLag to play NA west coast so I don't get the same 3 players over and over.
I find NA to be quite chill compared to sweaty OCE but the hard tunnelling at 5 gens is absolutely insane in NA. At least on the LA servers I connect to.
Sure we get tunnelling in OCE but nowhere near the extent I have experienced on NA and in general the killers are far lower skilled but compensate by hard tunnelling the first easy down they find.
Yesterday almost every match I played on NA was killer proxying to hard tunnel out players and it was overall a pretty miserable experience. I really hope BHVR do start to address tunnelling as it is getting ridiculous now.
FYI: to be clear I NEVER play killer on NA servers as the ping would be unfair. As survivor it means I am at a disadvantage as I get hit 10 feet away through windows and pallets
I’m a NA player and when I play on SA with my friends that are from there the killers are genuinely toxic. They don’t tunnel or camp because it’s beneficial they actually do it to spite you. I’ve been bled out for 4 minutes multiple times, hit on hook 30 times by a legion in frenzy, or just hit on hook in general, and basement camping bubba is somehow still a thing there and he hit me on hook too and had a crazy argument in egc with my SA friends that are on PC.

Basically, the game detects you got a hit but the system that makes the animation line up and look pretty messes up and forces you into an object instead; which will deny the hit.

I feel not having it at every state of the game is odd.
Hi, because the days of killers having to worry about swinging at a survivor when the game literally just started is over. Plus the first chase is essential having at prolonged by E is very annoying. That’s why I always bring a styptic when I play survivor

So far I've determined it is not killer or map specific. I've seen it on all maps and on all killers, regardless of role. Could it be tome challenge related?
Example of what it looks like: https://clips.twitch.tv/FineSpunkyToadBibleThump-x_OGw5vWJ6iUk_lP

I have been playing this game for the longest, both killer and survivor, im pretty decent i guess. Whenever i play as survivor, they always happen to magically hit me out of nowhere. There will be times when Im far away from the killer ( i understand that when they hit the survivor it lets them skip steps) but sometimes that isn't the case, they will literally miss and instantly swing again and hit me? like how does that even happen? another time is when im vaulting and ive already vaulted, i still get hit! ITS SO FRUSTRATING.. Literally the statics have shown that killers win most of the time and it makes the game hard to play to the point where its not even fun anymore. How can they truly balance this?

First it only takes 1.5 seconds to reveal ghostface compared to the 10s it takes to remove weakened.
Second Ghostface has the ability to crouch and lean to stalk to make it harder to stalk him
Third you need to be within range and have 30% of ghostface's body in the center of your screen.
As for why these requirement exists, it's because Ghostface sole power his is shroud. So if survivors could easily remove it, Ghostface would just be pointless to play as.
Compared to Unknown who also has the ability to teleport and Weakened results in his power being capable of damaging you which can hit through walls and is AoE, it's a bit more important survivors have an easier time removing it since it takes 10 seconds.
I literally have ghost face’s whole body dead center of my screen and I’m standing still reasonably close to him staring right at him and can’t even start revealing him like come on

This was back when you could still use keys to open the hatch before generators were done and the post game chat was the most vile place on the internet.
I don't recall how the match ended, only that everyone stayed and complimented each other for making it such a great match. Even the two who were killed stayed to see the outcome.

This post might be quite lengthy, but I’ll try to keep it as short and to the point as I can.
I’ve been playing DBD since 2017 and David King was always a character that jumped out to me. I’m from Manchester (England) and I found it so cool that David was also from here as I’ve never seen that before in a video game, as normally when a character is British they’re from London. Seeing how much detail the developers put into his perk names / quotes was amazing, as I never imagined seeing things like “Dead Hard’ and ‘No Mither’ being used as they’re just such niche expressions used in my home town.
I’ve grown up around sports and they were always something I excelled at during my time in school. Rugby was always my thing and then I got into kickboxing during my college years and now I’m a full-time Personal Trainer, which is just a dream job.
Since about the age of 7 I’ve known I was ‘different’ - I had girlfriends as that was what my family expected from me. Being anything other than heterosexual wasn’t ever discussed in my family. Men got with women and women got with men. That’s what I was brought up knowing to be true. I felt hollow for the longest time as I was living a life that I didn’t feel in control of. I was in auto-pilot for a long time, just doing what was expected from me and not doing what I actually wanted to do.
I went on a journey of self-discovery at the age of 25 when I realised that not allowing myself to be authentic was slowly killing me and it couldn’t go on much longer. I came to the conclusion that I was not a heterosexual male, but I was in fact a homosexual male. Being so heavily involved in sports for all my life just felt like I was locked in a cage. It’s no secret that that world can be deep rooted in homophobia and hearing some of the comments fellow teammates would make, just didn’t leave me feeling safe enough to be my true self. I loved sports and didn’t want to give that up and I felt like if they knew the real me, I’d be disowned. These feelings also lead back to my family. My mum was always talking about grandkids and how she couldn’t wait for me and my then-girlfriend to have them. I just had such an immense pressure on my shoulders to stay in the closet, but it eventually reached a boiling point.
When I did eventually ‘come out’ I got my fair share of bigoted comments from people I once classed as friends and family. Some didn’t understand how I could possibly be gay, because I wasn’t effeminate and had girlfriends. Which really boiled my blood. I didn’t realise somebody’s sexuality was a personality trait? Why couldn’t I be into ‘masculine’ things and still be gay? It never made sense to me.
Now this brings me back to David. Him being gay just resonates with me so damn much. We almost feel like the same person now. Some people don’t understand why representation is important, but this is why. If I had a character like David King whilst I was growing up, it would have made it a lot easier for me to accept who I was and realise there was never anything wrong with me.
I truly appreciate what Behaviour has done and I hope that the increase in representation we’re seeing throughout the media will make it easier for the youth of today, as my childhood / teen years truly felt like hell.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you in the fog.

This change obviously should not happen in the game's current atmosphere, but maybe later when survivors aren't in a questionable spot.
I'm shocked I haven't seen anyone talk about this before, so I'm asking out of curiosity.
I’ve always been giving this advice, do not let your games get to end game, when it does it’s almost always too late. Survivors are strongest during the start and end of a game, the start they have all resources and all spawn in healthy, at the end there are so many end game perks like adrenaline/hope ect and you lose a way to apply pressure (gens). Leaving you in uncounterable situations like the one you’ve mention, heal teaching at gates and more

A simple and fair PR change:
- Increase the number of Scourge hooks to 5.
- Decrease the regression from 25% to 20%.
Perfect. No more annoying RNG for Killer and no more missing out on PR hooks. More ballanced out regression for survivor.
How about that?
I disagree, I believe the perk is in a healthy spot right now as far as the community’s standards and culture customs goes. You can’t keep procing it by one survivor anymore incentivizing not hooking the same survivor. And the only 4 uses of the perk has already done its damage to the perk, nerfing it to 20% would be too far unless you revert the previous changes to it only having 4 uses back to limitless.
Please leave gen regression perks alone, last one killers got was call of brine and that was when I first downloaded the game and with each and every update without fail survivors have been receiving gen speed/progression perks. Slow down perks are very necessary in this current climate and higher mmr.

DS is one of the most killer-controlled perks in the game. You, and you alone, determine whether it has value or not. Don't want it to work? Don't tunnel. Done.
But that's something you have trouble with, it seems, considering your thread on OTR.
Why not? Why is tunneling so demonized. It’s a valid strategy and survivors already got spoon fed back to back basekit mechanics to limit a killer’s choices and free will. Destigmatize tunneling.

DS definitely needs a buff, return it to 5 seconds and that is all it needs.
As it currently is, it is essentially useless and a wasted perk slot against Billy, Nurse or Blight and even M1 killers if you are not fortunate enough to get use next to a pallet or window so you can at least gain distance.
Tunnelling needs to be punished more not less
The last sentence you wrote is what I disagree with heavily. Why? Because it’s mean? News flash we are playing the role of the killer we’re not playing Mother Teresa simulator

@Rulebreaker said:
....Dont think it ever guaranteed an escape from being tunneled. Theres also some holes to your arguments such as teammates burning everything around before you can even use DS (theres more but we're tired). Long as it disables from certain actions and endgame (aka: can't be easily weaponized) a small buff wouldn't hurt, especially with the rampancy of tunneling. A comparison to erruption kinda falls abit flat as well as 1 slows down a specific tactic and even before at its worst it still just slowed while the other stopped all forward progress if it landed. And no...pretty sure eruption is still used on occasion, had a huntress use it to pretty good effect atleast.
Regardless it all depends on how it gets "buffed" (to our knowledge no one knows). Could be ok, could be overkill, could end up being overall nerfed somehow.
that’s why it’s important for the survivor to take mental notes on where their teammates have previously took chase, and even with your argument, their teammate’s faults does not translate to sympathy for the DS user, like I said, new version means more thoughts put into the perk’s usage. And as for your huntress argument, ya eruption is now very niche and useful for certain killers with certain game plans and builds, unlike its predecessor which was universally useful across all killers, kinda like how DS is useful across all survivors.

Since there have been changes to try and help make dbd enjoyable for both sides is there any thoughts on a solution to tunneling at 5 gens. I know it isn’t an easy problem to find a solution to especially since there are situations where killers will need to tunnel for pressure and getting someone out but it’s no fun when it’s happening early and it’s overall just weird behavior.
Was the last batch of being spoon fed not good enough? Let’s count, basekit bt, basekit haste after unhooked, anti facecamping, basekit bt working with deliverance, basekit bt working with deliverance in end game, basekit bt working in end game, basekit bt working from a 4%, hook grabs not working anymore… ect ect ect. what’s next in store to be basekit for the survivor wish lists?

I gave up trying to use sound to track anyone years ago, I've always found directional audio in this game to be absolutely useless, especially with BHVR's nonsensical audio occlusion. God forbid I think I hear the hatch or injured survivor, I go in a circle and somehow end up looking in the wrong direction every time.
Other games are designed in a manner where the music is optional and players are allowed to turn it off if they feel it's interfering with their ability to hear useful sounds. That's not the case with DbD, where a large number of the killers get washing machine screeches as chase music just to make sure it's loud and obnoxious enough to drown out the audio players want to hear.

Currently the amount of obvious cheaters I get in my matches is almost unbearable.
Almost every second match I play vs Survivors who either are cheating in an obvious or subtile way.
Most the time it's the well-known Speedhack, with which the Survivor can move faster than he/she regularly should be able to,
then there are Survivors who teleport around the map, or teleport to a spot where the Killer can't reach them and then they hope the Killer leaves the game,
and many more.
(I am sure there are also Killers who are cheating)
I have to admit, the ways how the cheaters are trying to hide their betrayal to the inexperienced players are pretty funny.
Last time I faced a cheater SWF I stayed in the post game chat and asked them If they think I didn't witness them teleporting away each time I caught one of them in the field.
I mean If I corner a Survivor, and he completes vanishes to thin air, nowhere to be found in the proximity, it is clear that this is not legit. Especially if this happens every single time in the same trial.
Their answers were "Git Gud" / "I simply outplayed you" / "Baby Killer".
Yea.. you "outplayed me"... at spots where an outplay was impossible lol.
I mean I know I shouldn't be mad when I face cheaters (If it's early in the trial I usually DC right away), but still, these games are just a big waste of time.
I also have no empathy for the cheaters. Why would you cheat in DBD? Do they think the other players won't realize? Or is it just some kind of trolling?
I faced 3 within this past week

We'd like to know what you think about the Mount Ormond Resort, part of the Ormond Realm. Please leave any feedback you have concerning this map as a comment on this thread. Your feedback can be as brief or detailed as you'd like!
Within BHVR's new survey to the community regarding the balancing of maps there are 3 voting options (survivor sided, balanced, killer sided) consisting the both of the Yamaoka maps and Mount Ormond.
I'm happy to see they're reaching out and interacting with the community and that they’re aware maps can tend to favor a side though I'm unsure if they have their focus in the right places. I haven't personally seen any complains about the Yamaoka maps, Ormond I understand as it has a history of being problematic but there are maps with much higher amounts of outcries from the players, like on twitter I see complaints about Toba Landing quite frequently, and on YouTube killers always sigh out loud when they see a Gideon or Borgo offering, and I haven't seen any positive comments about the Alien's map.
Me personally, I don't know how Badham's main building's boiler room doesn't have a hook down there yet, there shouldn’t be any spot where if a survivor go down they’re free from being hooked, and while we’re at that Badham is such a pain for killers. And Lery's center room please tone down the volume specially when center gen is done as a Spirit player I die a bit everytime I have be there and on the topic off sounds I dislike the new maps they’ve been pumping out because they’ve been tryna get fancy with it by adding unnecessary sound effects like on Toba anywhere on the map there are sound effects, love that they’re trying to pay attention to details but gameplay wise it’s so harmful, at least to me. If in the past they’ve implemented color blind assists for player’s vision health I don’t see why they can’t also care about player’s echoic health. And on the edge of every map, why are there entity sized breathing noises, I’m trying to listen. Sorry this kinda have turned into a rant but I’m speaking my truth. I miss simple OG maps like autohaven or Macmillan ones, the new ones doesn’t even look DBD anymore, I wish they would focus more on the horror aspect of the game when creating maps and of course balance, not “we only care about the aesthetics when making maps” (Garden of joy)
I’m interested in hearing about your different opinions on different maps, which one do you hate playing at? Which one do you love and why? Discuss with one another in the comments and let me know if you relate or agree to the points I’ve made. Have a good day everyone.

this is a copy and paste from a forum I posted that a dev closed that followed the same format as this OP’s topic and forum.

On the subject of maps - we do have a forum section set up to garner specific feedback, we'll be adding new realms every few days or so (not weekends), where we're focusing on what players like / dislilke about the maps.
This will be helpful for our Level Design Team moving forwards as it creates a repository of information all in one place for them. So please do not hesitate to leave your thoughts on the maps mentioned there...thank you!
You close my forum regarding the topics of maps but you’re fine with this one? I’m confused

In an ideal world the killer would 12 hook everyone, never tunnel and participate in a nice fun game for both sides
Everyday I start the game with this mindset but it soon fades after being greeted with 3 or 4 survivors t bagging at the exit gates
playing “nice” just isn’t optimal, especially against good survivors and I think the problem is the game being balanced around kills, not hooks
tunnelling is far too effective, but often times the killer has no choice but to tunnel, especially on certain maps
I think the game needs another health/ quality of life update. Changes for maps like Badham, the Game ect, Give killers more incentive to spread out hooks while at the same time give survivors more base kit ways to deal with tunnelling.
Matchmaking/ win condition changes would be very welcome as well with more emphasis on quick downs and hook instances as killer, and chase time, stuns and altruistic actions as survivor, instead of just “kill” and “escape”. This would make for much more balanced matches
It’s an ideal world, for you. Different people have different opinions and ways of having fun.

The way I said it already the reason for the post was because I had three games in a row of me having two slugs at the end and one of them Kobes off the hook and people still trying to gaslight me into thinking I did not experience what i experienced

It's a strategy to remove yourself from an unpleasant experience. Let's be honest, most people 4% to kill themselves.
Just as much a strategy as camping, tunneling or whatever else.
The only difference is that you don't like this one.
im not focused on the them removing themselves from the game part tho? I would love that actually I’m all for it. My problem is the actual successful 4% ?
