why does it matter what the perk icon look like bro. no matter what perks get nerfed and changed slowdowns will still be used.

slowdown perks as a whole is not my problem its just those 2 perks

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

I don’t use any slowdowns at all and gens fly by. I’m talking my matches are 6-8 minutes in average. Some are sub 5. Cob, eruption, and OC got gutted otherwise you would see some variety. And people will trash me for losing even though I don’t bring any gen regression perks. So why not bring four slowdown perks?

see i feel like they don't know how to nerf a perk without completely killing it

It's mandatory on the weaker killers. Definitely really frustrating to see it on something like a Blight.

i had a nurse with pop and pain res Btw we died at 5 gens like if i saw a trapper or a pig with it i wouldn't care that much but blight, nurse, oni i have played against every killer running those 2 perks

  • You know if a killer knows you have otr they will just hit you right? and if they know you have ds they will just slug you Like your argument makes no sense at all 80 seconds if you touch a gen or totem that endurance is gone which means they will spend 80 seconds doing nothing at all or if they are not getting tunneled then they can maybe hop on a gen.

Lately I've been finding that a good way to tell your teammates to get off their behinds and get you is to start to throw on hook. Make one attempt to kobe on first hook, or miss one skill check on second hook. They'll usually come to get you at that point. And if not? Well, gg next. There's no reason to stick around if teammates are intentionally griefing you like that.

Really, we have stuff like this going on, and then people wonder why Survivors give up on hook...

If i see someone giving up on hook i am not going to keep them in a match they don’t wanna play because something didn’t go their way or they got a killer they don’t like. But non the less giving up at the start of the game is by far the most selfish thing you can do because survivors are supposed to survive as a team but no some people wanna give up at the start of the game people need to do better and GROW UP

They've significantly changed the perk since the PTB. It is not useless, you should update yourself on it.

No they didn't they changed one thing and kept the rest that perk is really bad you sit in basement for 2 mins while your team is getting hooked, chased and maybe dying while you are sitting in basement to remove 10 charges off a gen and be broken for the rest of the match.Idk why people praise this perk so much you spend so much time in basement for such a little reward.

  • Now this might be me but i am not the only one who finds that perk completely useless 2 mins in basement and for what a few charges removed from every gen i was playing the ptb and games in the live release and in both of them this perk was just useless it is a bad perk and i want other people to see that

Survivors are not used to not being the proportionally imbalanced overpowered side of the game where every escape is a cake walk. Not having infinites, instant heals, crazy perks ect is a new thing for the lots of them

I could have sworn you are the same spirit that was complaining about otr while playing the 3rd strongest killer

Sincere question, how come you're not sure of the Survivor meta?

Survivors meta hasn't changed all that much really in all these 8 years. There's been additions in recent years, but nothing has really fallen off.

People often refer to Survivors meta as "Second Chance" and Killers as "Gen Regression". But these have both broadened recently. Especially since the regression perks got nerfed and blocking perks got buffed. You still see regression, but it's combo'd a lot with blocking, as your OP says, but also, you'll see STBFL, you'll see Ultimate Weapon, Nowhere To Hide used to be up there, but since it got kill switched and brought back, people got used to not using it and haven't gone back to it really.

Simply put coz I've been rambling:

The Killer meta is more of an Aura/Intel+Anti-Gen loadout. Seeing perks like Pain Resonance, DMS, Grim Embrace, PGTW, STBFL, Ultimate Weapon, Corrupt Intervention, Deadlock, BBQ. Psudo-meta perks include Spirit Fury+Enduring, NOED

The Survivor meta is more of an Intel+Chase Extension loadout. Seeing perks like Adrenaline, WoO, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst, DS, Lithe, Off The Record, Bond, Blast Mine, Deliverance. Then you get pseudo-meta perks like Distortion, Calm Spirit, For The People+Buckle Up.

But with Killer, I am hoping we see more players start to see that unique characters should have their own meta loadouts that don't have to fall in line with the universal meta.

mostly because i don’t pay attention to what the meta really is i just use perks that best fit my gameplay like i use lithe because i see windows as an opportunity to get further distance from a killer

When I play solo Survivor I use: Bond, Reassurance, Tenacity and Balanced Landing.

As a SWF, when I can rely on my friend, and know their skill level is high, we can play a little more chill and use perks that allow us to have a more fleshed out match in case our teammates drop like flies against the stronger killer characters regardless. So: Bond, Iron Will, Distortion and We'll Make It

Oh yeah, Distortion is also becoming a psudo-meta perk

I just wanted to ask that because normally when someone talks about meta survivor perks i get confused because idk what is meta rn and when i ask them what perks they run its always the perks they say is meta

Yeah, Survivors aren't restricted in what they use like Killers are. But if they're playing at a higher level to counter Killers who are definitely using meta (for the reason mentioned above) they will be using a mix of these perks. The perks that waste the killers time through use, that allows Survivors to path optimally without guessing work, that can coordinate with off-comms teammates. These perks are all seen the most frequently in matches where the levels of play are much higher consistently. Thus, they're meta.

Also, the 4 perks mentioned in the OP aren't the only perks used in the Killer meta. There are more to the list that can be swapped in and out.

atp i watched my gen get hit with pop and pain res ngl wanted to cry it went from something to nothing🥲

  • @Krazzik said:

It certainly feels really rough to go against a good killer who ends chases in under 20 seconds and keeps getting pain reses and pops and keeps blocking off gens. Makes ya feel like there's no point in even trying to repair gens.

I just want the game to be in a better spot community wise like fr i got bled out for having a flashlight like when did this community become this soft

I remember a long time ago someone else was trying to tell me that Lithe was a second chance perk. I just don't recall their reason.

Personally I don't see SB or Lithe as a "second chance" perk but I guess people who are claiming they are need to define what second chance means to them. For me it would mean a perk that prevents a hit/down that would have been if it wasn't for that perk.

I just saw a post and i need to say this DS AND ORT ARE ANTI-TUNNEL PERKS NOT SECOND CHANCE I hate the current state of this game it just endless complaining I just don't understand not every exhaustion perk is a second chance dead hard is so weak now i don't know how people can still use it. I can't with this game because i really do like this game i have fun playing it but everyone suck the fun out of this game for no reason at all.

In 9 / 10 Games as Killer u Play against a Team where all 4 Survivor only have 2nd Chance Perks Like DH, Lithe,Sprintboost & Adrenalin or Gen Rush Perks to end a Game in like 3 Minutes because Gens are to fast and its to hard to make alot pressure and use Map Offerings of Survivor Sided Maps like Garden of Pain, Eyre, The Game, Haddonfield or Baddham

But Killer Players dare you for playing 4 Gen Defense Perks to hold the Gen Speed this boring to Play against 🤷🏻‍♀️

I never understand the hate of having "second chance" perks Lithe and sprintburst are not second chance perks they are perks to help you get a little speed boost to get ahead or lose chase. And after the many nerfs Dead hard has had why are people still complaining about it you can only use the perk twice now and if they see that you have it once they will know and wait it out. I am just so confused because having an exhaustion perk is now a "second chance" please. If that is a second chance then no way out and noed is the biggest second chance and even noed itself is a big second chance for killers but no one will never bring that up at all.

    Adrenaline has 2 flaws:

    1) It counters Freddy. We do not need a perk that counters Freddy of all killers!

    2) It kind of incentivises slugging. A slugged survivor will be healed to injured but a hooked survivor will be healed to healthy. That's not great.

i think getting value after you were already hooked is pretty stupid and should be changed but the freddy thing made me laugh

DS, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Windows Of Opportunity, Off The Record, Blast Mine, Reassurance, (All Haste-exhaustion perks), Deliverance, Bond.

I may have missed one of two, but it's late here lol

ok so here is my next question if you were to play survivor what perks would you be using

No I'm not under the assumption 4 Survivors are doing repairs at one time. In what world would that be a stance anyone takes?!

You're aware that a Survivor can just tit around all game and when the exit gates are powered they reap the rewards of their team, right? So why should perks like Hope exist when that's a scenario? Perks like Hope are what you'd expect to see in 2017-2019 DBD. 2024 DBD you'd think would have tweaked this to be a Haste perk that triggers when the user completes a generator repair.

This all a tangent, you know. The argument is about a Killer meta that is completely fine. Your argument was to address an old busted perk combo on Survivors side that offers little comparison to a Killer meta discussion. It's also funny that people talk about Killer meta without acknowledging Survivors meta in the conversation. The Killer meta is far easier to counter than Survivors meta. The Killer meta can be predicted and countered by looking at the HUD and seeing if your gen is gonna be the one hit by Pain Resonance. If it is, get off it and wait the 12 seconds. If the Killer isn't gonna be likely to come you your gen, get back on it and it's a free finish. If they are, maybe don't jump right back on it and let DMS activate.

The Survivor meta can be predicted but it's harder to counter. Second Chance Survivors abuse their safety by actually forcing the Killer to focus on them instead of other fresh Survivors, actively denying them Grim Embrace and Pain Resonance usage. And you think the gen block meta is a problem? It isn't. Not when good Survivor players are being constant thorns in the Killers side, denying them perk usage and wasting their time that they know is so crucial to Killer (Hence the gen block+regression meta in the first place).

What perks are in the “survivor meta”

    You don't understand.

He said if you leave your lovely gen right before the guy got hooked, then DMS do NOTHING to you.

    Ok but You don’t understand.

Even if i get off my gen or stay on it will still get blocked. And if they have 4 stacks they block for 40 seconds

Imagine complaining about a combo that makes it so Killers actually feel rewarded for getting hooks on fresh Survivors. I swear all Survivor players secretly love getting tunneled and camped out from the get go. Coz that's all these posts say. I'll say it again: You're complaining Killers want to feel like they can be rewarded for getting fresh hooks.

Ok so i am complaining about a perk build which i feel I should be allowed to do and you are allowed to have your own opinion but this brings up my point from earlier killers are complaining about a perk you can only use once if you complete all 5 gens like how killers should be rewarded for doing their task survivors should be treated the same

  • @xltechno said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3672371#Comment_3672371

Yes, that's right. And as a by-product of DMS, many survivors should know the loss of having the killer know which gen consider important by survivors and positioning of survivors.

I think you are missing my point no matter what i will do wither it is get off or stay on my gen will get blocked no matter what

  • @KatsuhxP said:

I don't use that build but it's not like most survivors would do much different things at least on my side.

It's mostly just second-chance perks and adrenalin with a strong map-offering, if it's not that kind than it's backgroundplayer with flashlight or sabo.

I feel like it's pretty boring in general when people only use the perks/offerings that are meta at the moment.

I want to know from you what is the problem with adrenalin because that is something i don't understand it is a perk that can only be used once and you have to do all 5 gens and you get rewarded for doing your task like how killer perks get rewarded for doing their task

  • @Exxodus21 said:

Just let go of the gen before the hook or before GE activates and you won't have to deal with DMS. Plus Pain Res and GE can only be triggered 4 times by hooking 4 different survivors. It's really not that hard to deal with.

OK, I understand what you are saying, but that means i can say adrenaline can only be used 1 time a match and I have to make it to endgame so it's not that hard to deal with see how that just doesn't make sense.

  • killers don't bother me i just don't want to get hit by pop and pain res every game like i have to sit here and watch my gen go from almost being down to going down to nothing

  • @Hexling said:

Damn so now killers get to determine to tunnel based off the items we pay MONEY for that's CRAZY. Means that DBD is the first pay to lose game.

I never said they were determined to tunnel i said If they do get tunneled for having the same outfit on its their fault because for killers its hard to keep track of who is who and its even harder when they are wearing the same outfit on the same survivor

  • @ChaosWam said:

I think it's because facecampers have swapped to it after the anti-facecamp was thrown in. I'd also say the 3-gen killers swapped to it as well but I'm not entirely sure on that.

That said, a lot of people have called me a tunneler even though I'd spread hooks or they'd be a 4-stack of the same character/cosmetic and it's hard for me to keep track.

Tbh if they are getting tunneled because they are wearing the same thing that is their own damn fault

  • @Bafugaboo said:

I believe many struggle with the concept of these type of games. The fact that one side is supposed to succeed more is difficult to grasp for many. This feeling is also made worse with the grade system. If you do well you go up, but if you do not, or get tunneled, you get negative actions from depipping. The more competitive nature could be lessened by removing negatives from the grade system, but pvp still brings out competitive nature. The arguments I see most often are based on individuals not winning as often as they want. This game brings out competitiveness from people even when they do not realize it is that. Overall the game is what it is. I agree that people just need to focus on the enjoyment more, but having feelings is what makes a game great.

Now this is just me but i think the grade system is just really bad because once you make it to iridescent you are mostly not going to get a pip if you do not get a 3k or escape the trial and even if you escape there is still a chance you will safety pip

  • So from reading this and the comments you want a perk to be changed because you are getting countered idk i just think off the record is fine the way it is i just feel like no change needs to be made

  • My only thing to say is you are getting upset at teams for working like i team in a team game
