  • Killer queues are about the same, maybe slightly longer but it's clear the huge BP incentive doesn't really do that much, at least in my region.

  • I see way less friendly/farming killers than I used to. Even during the anniversary with 5 cobblers each game there wasn't any.

  • I mean that's been a thing for years. If there's only 2 survivors left and multiple gens left, or even one with zero progress, there's no chance of getting the gens done, and since the killer is usually patrolling the gens at that point, actually trying to do the gens is a death wish. The second they start a gen they'll get found and chased.

You can't really blame them too much since playing for hatch at that point is the only reasonable play. But yes it is an issue and making idle crows only be held off by doing gens, healing, and unhooking is the easiest fix I guess.

  • If you don't want to killer to see your scratch marks, walk or crouch, that's literally what they're there for. Or use one of the multiple perks that can hide your scratch marks.

  • There's an absurd amount of information that new survivor players are expected to memorize right off the bat:

They need to learn about every single killer, what the killers do and how best to deal with their power.

They need to learn about most killer perks and what they allow the killers to do and how best to deal with them.

They need to learn about most survivor perks that their teammates may have and what they allow survivors to do, and play around them.

They need to learn about all the different maps, where gens tend to spawn, where totems tend to spawn and where the stronger tiles are.

And obviously they need to learn the basics of actually playing the game, good movement, good game sense, prioritising gens but also knowing when to help out teammates.

Even with an experienced friend on Discord to tell you about perks when they pop up and giving advice on how to play against the killer you're facing, it's information overload.

The elves in DnD are shorter than humans. I guess in other media they’re taller than humans but Aestri is based on a DnD elf, so she should be smaller than Baermar.

I mean that's just the 'average' height, there's still gonna be very tall female elves so it's not that odd.

  • Anything that happens outside the game isn't BHVR's problem. You can't get them to punish someone for saying a slur in your stream or on your steam page.

  • I mean its no different than tbagging, both are simulating a sexual act to demean the other side and lord over them with your superior skill. If one is bad, both are bad.

  • It punishes camping more but it's not gonna do anything against tunneling, sadly.

  • It doesn't really matter how they change her, many survivors will still throw a hissy fit and DC/unalive on hook.

I think the mode has been well received enough for it to be a permanent addition to the game

I disagree with those who say this will “kill” the game… Far from it, this is the breath of fresh air we needed. Nearly 100k players on DBD steam during 2v8’s launch, with many veterans (myself included) returning to check this out. It can only get better the more they improve it

1v4 was becoming stale, and until 2v8 came along the previous game modes just weren’t fun nor successful.. this is the one myself & many others want to keep

For me, even at peak times my killer queues are 10-15 mins for 2v8 and 5+ mins for 1v4. Until they make some big changes to 2v8 to help with that, they can't leave it in as killer would be miserable.

  • I mean it's gonna come back with more content and balance changes, but having it as a permanent mode would kill the game. Killer queue times in both 2v8 and 1v4 are pretty bad.

  • Once all the gens are done, there's no incentive for the killer to cage anyone who isn't on death hook. It's a real problem I hope they do something with next time.

  • It's a bug that happens during map generation. Some survivors have a habit of exploiting it to make it much harder for killers to win.

You’ve gotta juke her. Don’t SB into the open. Be unpredictable. Mess with her collision.

I was behind a wall, her first blink was too far but EVEN with Sprint Burst still up, her second blink lunge hit me. That's just blatantly OP.

  • I would say if neither side is premade, it's more killer-sided. With zero MMR, you're always guaranteed to get multiple survivors who are completely new and thus go down in two seconds and probably about half the lobby who rarely do gens. This gives even bad killers plenty of time to win.

Obviously if one side is a premade and the other isn't, then the premade will stomp. I'd imagine if both sides are a premade it's probably more survivor-sided just due to gen speeds.

As someone who has played as solo survivor for 95% of my matches, for the first couple of days it was good, I actually won many of my matches simply because the killers were all baby killers who couldn't loop at all. Today though, I'm guessing all the new killer players have given up and the queue is mainly filled with decent killers and KWFs, making the mode unplayable for solo survs.

  • It can feel incredibly killer sided when you're a solo so I can see why so few survivors queue up. Today it's just been miserable stomp after miserable stomp.

  • Even with Sprint Burst a Nurse can still hit me. At that point what can I even do?

I know it's not new. I'm just giving my feedback on the perks themselves in hopes that they might get buffed.

Fair, though at this point there's like 60+ perks that need serious buffs and they'll only pick a couple to slightly tweak every six months, then introduce more bad ones every chapter.

  • Wraith + Billy sticking together all match is miserable to go against though.

  • I mean this isn't new, most DLCs have bad perks for one side or both.

  • Yeah, it's what killers do in 1v4, why would it be different in 2v8?

I am NOT a good looper but with the Sprint Burst + WoO role, I can always sprint from a gen to a pallet and if I play even half-decently around it, the killer eventually leaves.

When there are survivors who literally go down in 5 seconds in every game, why would a killer bother chasing a good or even average survivor?

  • If it's survivor-sided, why are there hardly any survivors queueing?

  • I don't play DBD to play with bots, if every 2v8 game had bots in it from the start, I'd stop wanting to play it.

  • The incentives aren't just randomly given to a side to be nice, they're to try and encourage people to play that side because that side is lacking players and causing long queues times for the other side.

Killers have super long queue times in 2v8 because not many survivors are queueing up.

  • I've not really noticed this myself, Trappers tend to set traps, then hang around their killer buddy for the rest of the game.

To be fair he's not got great mobility and the maps are massive so I don't really blame him for sticking to an area. Same with Huntress.

  • Personally I'm doing archive challenges where the other roles are more useful. Anything chase or stun-related, I pick the Sprint Burst and WoO role, anything gen-related, especially doing gens cooperatively, I'll pick the gen role, anything survival related I'll pick Iron Will role.

Outside of that though I do think the other roles are more useful. Gen speed is always just good because it cuts down the time killers have. Sprint Burst AND Windows in one role is insane, even if you aren't good in chase, heck ESPECIALLY if you aren't good in chase, it's probably the safest one to pick to ensure you last longer. The aura-reading the other one gives is also insanely strong.

Extra healing speed is decent, and there's a LOT of healing that needs to be done in this mode, but everyone is kinda expected to rescue and heal depending on location, and so often you'll have two people turn up to unhook so healing is fast anyway. I feel like they need to up the healing bonus to 50% and/or add a buff when you unhook someone, maybe a Babysitter-like effect.

  • if +400% BP doesn't do much, I doubt even +4000% will do much. At a certain point people just don't wanna play the mode regardless of the reward.

  • Most survivor players aren't that good in chase and many just don't really priorities gens. Add onto that it's a free weekend and there's no MMR in 2v8 and yeah you're gonna have a handful of baby survivor in nearly all your games and even those who aren't babies are likely to go down in 5 seconds and not do gens.

Now it does also mean you may come across baby killers more often. I was able to keep a Wraith busy for ages in one of my games and I can't loop at all.

  • Not sure why you'd try and camp but I've seen a couple Wraiths tunnel with decent success. After caging someone they zoom across the map to where they assume the cage will be just in time for the 'unhook'. Worked decently well.

I was just paired with a really good Wraith as Huntress and we were keeping neck and neck at first but he showed me up in the latter half of the game.

  • It doesn't help that the very first survivor challenge in the tome is to rescue teammates from cages. Often the moment someone gets caged you have a bunch of survs sprinting over.

At least you guys learned the lesson and stop adding side specific challenges to the event tomes, right

Well at least I wish so

You can get to the end of the page only playing one side. I finished all the survivor challenges and got the page reward before bothering with the killer ones.

  • It depends, bad survivors who don't look where they're going, even after stepping into multiple traps (like me) means an easy win for Trapper. Semi-decent survivors who actually do use their eyes and even occasionally disarm traps means he's not very good.

  • I mean it's basically the reverse of normal DBD. Solo-queue killer is on the weaker side, but 2-man KWFs can absolutely slay.

HA! So strong as a simple M1 killer with no power? Nice one, guy.

If you coordinate with your teammate you can give them one-shot potential on-demand.

  • In 2-man KWFs Hillbilly is insanely strong.

  • Cheaters don't really care about getting banned since they buy cheap accounts in bulk.

  • I'm not doing any cross progression stuff but for my usual shards I basically keep a certain amount so I can buy any new original chapters straight away. If I have loooooads extra, I'll buy cosmetics.

I've got nearly every perk so don't need to use the Shrine, only perks I don't have are from the Alien chapter.

  • Huh, I've not seen Nurse or Billy and a single one of my 2v8 games.

You are debating "fair" in an asymmetrical game, especially one with strong counter perks to every killer in the game as survivor vs just general strong perks as killer.

    Trapper : Use a map

    Wraith : Use sprint burst

    Doctor : Use calm spirit

Spirit : Use iron will, lightfooted, and lightweight

its not even a comparison to say that you are saying in exchange for mid tier information that can be assumed 80% of the time survivors should get a god tier game defining amount of information

I mean it's the same when it comes to survivor items. We have a single perk that completely shuts down flashlights and medkits are heavily countered with Franklin's or even just certain anti-heal perks.

Heck you can lobby-shop till you find a team bringing 4 medkits as Plague.

Well yeah its trapper the arguably 2nd worst killer in the game why would you want to subject yourself to a swf while using a meme build to double down on getting stomped. That sounds like a fun way to end a night and get someone to stop playing dbd if you queued into that without knowing. Which is exactly the point not my fault if most dbd players are scared of a challenge this feature would work for me so I want it so I don't have to double down on a bad matchup by having the wrong build / mindset going into it.

But why does the killer get to see exactly what they're up against and dodge or not, but survivors don't? Surely it would only be fair for a survivor to see if they're against a Nurse with full aura-reading or a meme Trapper so they can have the right build/mindset going into it.

  • I'll admit I really don't like going against him, feels like there's not much you can really do to last very long in chase. I'd MUCH rather go against current SM rather than Hux.

  • @bjorksnas said:

It depends a lot, am I playing a strong killer, can I put on a strong build, do I care, did I even watch the lobby screen or was I tabbed out watching something. Its not as cut and dry but at worst the "lobby dodging simulator" would pair up swfs against stronger killers who wouldn't feel the need to dodge. Aka grouped survivors get stronger killers and builds with proper mindsets going into the match. Which I see absolutely no problem with.

For most killers it wont matter if they're queued as Nurse with full aura-reading or a meme-build Trapper, they'll dodge if they see a 3/4 man SWF. Why make it harder on yourself when you're usually guaranteed a more chill match if you just dodge till you find solos?

Yes, some people will choose to challenge themselves by going against the SWF, or they'll be AFK/tabbed out and not notice, but I'd wager money that most killers who DO notice, will dodge.

TCM had to REMOVE this feature because people would just constantly dodge.

  • It doesn't need much of a nerf but for the sake of changing meta perks, something that BHVR has admitted they want to do, it needs something about it changed.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    Only the last one

People think oh it will be lobby dodge simulator but thats just catastrophizing as per dbd usual

Being able to see the lobby so you can better prep or get into a different mindset is 100% better than being quashed mid match because you realized it was a team too late to change playstyle enough to have an impact. Its better to incentivize more fair mindsets then it is to give swf free wins against people who don't get to prepare or go into a match with the wrong expectations. Teams get stronger matches simple as.

I mean people lobby dodge a lot already simply due to prestiges and 'guessing' it's a SWF, if you outright told killers when they're about to face a SWF, most killers would dodge.

I'm just mostly surprised that with thousands of hours you haven't bothered to learn map layouts and simple loops. You don't have to play like comp players and loop the killer for 3 gens.

I guess if unhealthy selfish gameplay is ok then its also ok to leave these selfish teammates to hooks right? I am talking about the selfish hiding and not helping the team at all. No unhooking, no gens no nothing and def not even bothering to try to save in endgame type of selfish.

That's a playstyle the devs support.

  • Survivor adepts are significantly easier than killer adepts, you literally just need to play and eventually you'll get it.

Still, if you wanna massively increase your chances, then bring a key and blueprint and when you're dead on hook just hide 'till your teammates die.

  • It certainly makes solo queue more playable but it makes killer miserable.

Nobody is saying that stealth should completly vanishing from the game. It is rather the question how much stealth is good for you and your teammates. Nobody is expecting you to loop the killer for 5generators or something like this but to join the match with the build and mindset to avoid any interaction with your teammates and killers to get the hatch is in my opinion not good and should/could be in some way limited/the perks should get a rework/nerf. Low Profile, Distortion, Left Behind, Calm Spirit, and Solo Survivor are in my opinion problematic because they support the mindset of beeing selfish. I can understand when the developers say that they think SoloQ is full of lonely wolves and for that reason they don't wanna give us some QoL changes when I see and withness rather selfish perks/builds in my lobby/players during the match. Again, not saying stealth should be removed from the game but rather draw the line between stealth and selfish.

The game has always been marketed that survivors can be team players or focus solely on their own survival. Yes, it's annoying if you get teammates like this, but it's literally a selling point of the game and thus it makes sense for perks to be made to support this playstyle.
