I've had this issue since the update to Unreal Engine 5. Basically when I'm loading into a match, or am exiting a match, the loading screen will freeze and I'm forced to go into task manager to close to game. The loading bar with fill but then the animation of the DBD logo swipes will stop and the program doesn't respond anymore. It seems to be random when it happens. If you down someone at endgame and they're deep in the map, why would you cage them and risk them spawning right next to a gate with survivors waiting to save them? I've seen a lot of killers just slugging after the gens are all done and I can't really blame them, as it's FAR better at securing kills, and if the survivor isn't on death hook, they can't pick themselves up.1 comments 91 views last activity

I don't mean for this to be an us-vs-them post, I just notice that gen slowdown got a LOT of hate and pushback until most of them were nerfed. Many killers moved from multiple slowdown perks to multiple aura-reading perks, and now aura-reading seems to be going through the same thing, there's a bigger uproar and a bigger push to try and get BHVR to nerf these perks. I ask what perks can killers19 comments 402 views last activity

Personally I… really don't like them. I know some of the dislike is simply having to get used to the changes but I really don't see why they needed to move the customization tab INSIDE another tab, it just boggles my mind.66 comments 1,761 views last activity

A lot of my time spent playing DBD has been playing as solo survivor, and even though it's always been in an iffy state, I've always managed to still have fun and just roll with it. Lately though it's just gotten so dire. Game after game of the entire team dying with 4 or 5 gens left. Killers finding and downing survivors within the first 20 seconds of the game starting. I think for me the thing that stops me having fun the most, and it's the same reason that I never get that excited when new chapters or new game modes are announced. It's still DBD. Like you can have cool new characters and new maps and new skins and new events but it's still just DBD with all the massive issues it's had the years now. I know that might sound odd since I generally like DBD and0 comments 51 views last activity

I've been running Distortion a lot lately and literally 80%+ of games I load in and immediately lose a token. I know people complain a lot about Distortion and I believe it needs to be tuned down slightly but you can't blame people for running the only perk that helps to counter Lethal.16 comments 441 views last activity

I don't know if it's an addon or something but just had a game vs a Skull Merchant and her drones never rotated. The lines were visable but yeah it just stayed still.6 comments 152 views last activity

I mentioned this in another thread but the pace of the game is just way too fast thesedays. Both sides need to go into the game full speed and only make the most efficient plays if they wanna have a chance at winning. That means gunrushing vs tunneling, second chance perks and genspeed perks vs gen slowdown perks, it's just not really that fun and I think it's possibly the biggest reason so many49 comments 1,223 views last activity

This can happen to both sides but I just had a game as solo survivor against a decent Blight and there was really just no chance to win. Literally no matter what I did or how well I played he was gonna get a 3k at the very least. It was a lost game the moment we loaded in, and at that point like... what's the point? I have difficult games quite often but at least I can find ways that I could hav16 comments 612 views last activity

I literally can't play Plague or Pig because I ALWAYS get put against far better players when I wanna play them. I thought MMR between killers was supposed to be at least close to each other but it seems my MMR on both killers is way higher because I always end up against people I simply can't beat. I'm lucky to even get a single hook. I don't really know what do besides tanking my MMR on purpo17 comments 721 views last activity

The proposed '3-gen solution' seems like it should genuinely nerf 3-genning killers while leaving 'normal' killers unaffected, but what about 3-gens caused by the survivors? It seems like if survivors 3-gen themselves, it's no big deal anymore since they can just play it slow and defensive and burn through the killer's kicks. This is exactly what many were worried about, as survivors 3-genning228 comments 6,319 views last activity

I'll preface this by saying I fully support buffing DS back to a 5sec stun. Following on from a mini-discussion in my other recent thread, I wonder if buffing DS back to 5 seconds would actually reduce tunneling that much. I don't think anyone is saying it would 'fix' tunneling, many killers would simply eat the DS as they do now and continue the tunnel. The question though is would it even red125 comments 1,934 views last activity

Once you get past a certain point with your MMR it feels like every single killer runs Corrupt, and I can certainly see why many might feel it's basically required. Survivors (usually) spawn far from the killer and close to gens, so to stop all 4 survivors insta-hopping onto gens while the killer spends time crossing the map, Corrupt just fixes that and forces the survivors to move toward the ki22 comments 511 views last activity

A very interesting question in the survey may shed light on why Cross Progression is taking so long. I don't have a screenshot but the question was basically: "Would you be open to Cross Progression if you could only carry over characters you bought ingame, rather than through DLC" It seems that character unlocks through DLC may be much harder to carry over, perhaps there are legal problems18 comments 431 views last activity

..and gens are going even faster than normal. :( I'm trying to actually enjoy the event and get my challenges done and I'm getting matched with survivors who are way better than me in chase and who complete gens super fast. Kinda spoiled by night.5 comments 122 views last activity

For killers to do be effective, they basically need to either be good in chase, which usually means having some form of antiloop, or they need to have some kind of built-in slowdown, usually in the form of a secondary objective. With all the complaints about 'unfun killers', I'm curious what survivors like in their killers. Do you prefer going against killers who can end chases faster, or killer11 comments 251 views last activity

I'm curious what other people's experiences are with how their games go. In my experience I would guess that like 80% of my games are a heavy stomp either for the killer or for the survivors, with very few actual 'close' games. I'm not talking 4 man SWFs or Nurses on Midwich, I just mean the skill level of both sides seems to always be very different. The problem is that almost always, one side0 comments 41 views last activity

I see quite a few different killers commonly referred to as 'boring to go against' and I wonder if people really do want more diversity in the killers they see in games. People complain about so many Nurses, Blights and Weskers but when other killers are buffed or even just talked about in general, people complain about them too. I've seen Twins, Hag, Trickster, Skull Merchant, Knight, Onryo, L30 comments 561 views last activity

Over 3000 hours in this game and still have games where I barely get 1 hook in the endgame. Seriously just gives me the worst feeling I've ever had in video games. Doesn't matter what map I'm on or what perks I bring or what killer I play, I still have games where I just can't do anything against the survivors, and it feels like I've just wasted all these hours and have nothing to show for it.38 comments 992 views last activity

Looking at the most recent statistics it appears that Self-Care is the 6th most popular survivor perk with a 15% pick rate across all survivors. Why is this? It's widely considered a terrible perk that encourages survivors to play worse and waste time when they could be doing gens or just looking for other survivors to help heal them. Alternatively you could run Inner Healing which you can prep46 comments 1,385 views last activity

For the last couple days I've just had game after miserable game. I generally prefer playing m1 killers but lately it's just been survivors going from pallet to pallet, not even looping, just dropping them when I get there and going to the next pallet. And by the time they've exhausted every pallet the other three survivors have done all the gens and they leave. I've struggled to get even one or0 comments 41 views last activity

A popular opinion on these forums is that if someone isn't having fun for any reason, they should be able to DC from the game and that's fine. After all, you can't force someone to play if they don't want to. I'm just curious if those who feel this way also agree that's it's fine for the killer to DC the moment they're not having fun. After all, you can't force the killer to play if they don't w1 comments 122 views last activity

It's not been all that long since Hux's release and I already barely ever see him. It seems even after his more recent buff, people just aren't willing to give him another go, and I think I know why. Personally I think that overall Singularity is reasonably-strong, and with the most recent nerfs to EMPs he's able to consistantly do much better in games, however... I never get why survivors are so shocked when the killer decides to start camping or tunneling when they're doing badly. I just had a game where I only got my second hook after 4 gens had popped, like, of course I'm not going to continue 'playing normally' after that point, because I -need- to change it up if I'm gonna get any kills. Now yes, it's my own fault for playing poorly that I ended up50 comments 1,021 views last activity

I'll preface this by saying that I don't think Sloppy Butcher's effect is OP. I do think its strong but I don't think it's too strong. The issue with Sloppy is that it's too easy to apply Mangled and Hemo with it. On most killers it gives you such easy access to having both status effects on survivors for most of the game that you don't really wanna use anything ELSE that provides those effects.12 comments 182 views last activity

By 'gen rush' I mean survivors simply focusing efficiently on gens, because that's all it takes. Good toolboxes and certain perks can help shave time off but really all it takes for gens to fly are 4 survivors who actually sit and do gens at every opportunity. I understand that balancing gen time is impossible, because the difference between 4 solo survivors just chilling/doing archives and a SW84 comments 1,951 views last activity

Knight and I'd argue even SM had more people playing them right after their release, but considering he JUST came out, there's so few people playing Hux. It seems his high skill floor combined with just not being that good has put a lot of people off him.16 comments 541 views last activity

What is the killer supposed to do if all 4 survivors are just way better at looping than they are? I have games where it takes me ages to get a down, gotta wait till bloodlust 2 or 3 before I can eventually get one. Clearly I can't just go for chases and play normally because there's not enough time for that, so I usually facecamp at that point. I know face-camping isn't going to get me the win,53 comments 1,371 views last activity

Generators are essentially the 'timer' of DBD. The killer needs to try and get their objective done before the survivors complete all the gens and leave, and the survivors need to try and complete all the gens and leave before the killer kills them. Yes there's the endgame section but the majority of the game is completing the gens and when the gens are completed it severely limits the killer's p2 comments 131 views last activity

Basically reiterating what I posted in another thread, but so many people don't seem to realise that these two things are basically the same. They're the most efficient way of playing the game and they maximise your chance of winning. They're also incredibly unfun for the other side, but I wouldn't necessarily say someone is a bad person for resorting to either. If someone has fun in the game by3 comments 211 views last activity

It's good BHVR is making it so DCers will be replaced by bots but many people kill themselves on hook instead to avoid the DC penalty and that's not being changed at all. Please just remove the unhook attempt if you aren't running Deliverance, please. (Also rework Slippery Meat, Up the Ante and Luck offerings)65 comments 2,152 views last activity

An idea I've had for a while to try and make spreading out hooks more rewarding for killers. Basically a survivor repairs gens slower the more hook states they have. Maybe 20% slower repair speed for one hook state and 40% slower for two hook states. This would at least give the killer -some- kinda reason to not just tunnel because even if they go after someone else, gens are getting done slower17 comments 461 views last activity

And the survivors just gave up? I was patrolling my 3-gen for like the 50th time and they just weren't doing them. Please can the devs address this behaviour and force the survivors to ACTUALLY play the game, thanks. 💅44 comments 1,392 views last activity

Just find it a bit odd that they're nerfing a perk that forced the killer to actually chase survivors and get downs in order to get value. People complained quite rightly about gen-kicking perks having no requirements and encouraging just guarding gens but a perk that's the complete opposite was also heavily nerfed. Just seems weird.11 comments 322 views last activity

So a friend recently bought the game and wondered if he should get the Ultimate Edition on Steam. I was looking through what it included to see if it was worth it and there's so much it -doesn't- have, even though the price is pretty hefty, even on a 50% sale. It doesn't include any licenced DLC. This one I at least understand. They're gonna have a bunch of rules about how they can sell licenced3 comments 711 views last activity

I merely ask because different people have slightly different ideas about what an m1 killer is. At it's most basic, the definition would be 'A killer who can only injure/down survivors with their m1' so basically their power doesn't deal damage, but under this definition: Nurse, Blight and Spirit are all m1 killers Trapper is NOT an m1 killer. Considering people generally use 'm1 killer' to m16 comments 4,553 views last activity

I've asked this in a few threads but I'm genuinely curious: What more can BHVR do to combat tunneling in DBD? We already have 10 seconds of Endurance and 10% Haste as basekit whenever anyone is unhooked, which is usually going to be enough for the survivor to get to a loop and waste more of the killer's time if they decide to tunnel. This 'basekit BT' was added to help protect the unhooked surv5 comments 291 views last activity

If you do this, then you can't complain when the killer tunnels you. I've have numerous survivors do this, then when I tunnel them they DC or complain in endgame chat. If the killer is hitting through your endurance, they then may as well tunnel you.32 comments 1,044 views last activity
