  • Agreed, it’s quite annoying… Mainly because I feel like I don’t have a chance to get away or put up a chase

One killer strikes me and does that delay animation, the other steams towards me and finishes the job. It’s not really fair

  • IMG_8586.jpeg

sorry I just saw you specified killer

there was one I saw that made the unknown look like the wolf from red riding hood (in the night gown & everything) that looked pretty cool… can’t find it atm

  • Honestly? The only few situations I’ve come across are team mates leading the killer over to others, and team mates not doing generators but I assume it’s because they want to get as many points so they’re opening chests, prioritising unhooking/healing & cleansing totems.. the 400% extra BP is just too delicious and people want to get as much as they can

  • Yeah… I’m really not looking forward to returning to 1v4. I think once my rift & challenges are completed I’m going to take a break from DBD until 2v8 comes back (assuming it does)

  • Kate was my go to for a while, but I switched to Mikaela and now it's Sable (She's perfect imo)
I love Lara, I think she's a fantastic addition to the game… Although the downside of licensed characters is you can't expect them to get many outfits in future, if ever.

Killer wise… Tiffany (Chucky Legendary skin) I love her character - Bride of Chucky is one of my favourite movies.

  • I think the mode has been well received enough for it to be a permanent addition to the game

I disagree with those who say this will “kill” the game… Far from it, this is the breath of fresh air we needed. Nearly 100k players on DBD steam during 2v8’s launch, with many veterans (myself included) returning to check this out. It can only get better the more they improve it

1v4 was becoming stale, and until 2v8 came along the previous game modes just weren’t fun nor successful.. this is the one myself & many others want to keep

  • I honestly can’t stand the sportswear submissions… Congrats to the winners obv, but tracksuits and chav wear needs to be stopped and unable to be in any future contests

I agree that men are left out when it comes to these contests, it’s definitely all about popularity. From a business perspective I see why the developers seem to choose the most popular survivors - they’re looking to maximise sales.

  • 1v4 feels very empty & not as fun now - I don’t want to go back.

if the developers could work on & improve 2v8 this could be a really big thing for DBD. I honestly haven’t had this much fun in aaaages

I understand there are those who are against this mode, but honestly this is a work in progress - all subject to change. Personally I think if the maps were made slightly bigger, the killer roster all available, the survivors get more roles and tweaks here and there… it could be way bigger than 1v4 ever was

  • I’ve had this a few times

You just click on the challenge you completed in the tome and it should fix it - worked for me anyway

  • +1

Really hope they add on more to this.
What they have is so chaotic yet insanely fun… Really wishing Chucky becomes apart of this mode sooner rather than later, I would que for ages just to play as him in this. (I bought him, but hate playing killer alone)

Im dreading returning to 1v4 - It’s going to feel so empty.

  • Yeah, it makes no sense for killers to be able to slug survivors in this mode… However the whole slugging technique isn't as common as people imply - in my hours long game time playing survivor I have yet to come across killers doing that.

The one time a killer left me on the floor was because they got greedy and decided to chase after another survivor, but I healed and once the bar had fully regained I shot straight back up? So idk how that happened

  • Many are just excited they can finally play the killer role with their friends. The most I’ve waited is around 10-15 minutes, but I guess it depends what time of day you play (diff time zones and such)

I imagine this will be something like when a new killer is released, the survivor’s role becomes instant for a while but once the novelty wears off it naturally balances itself out.

  • I think DBD's player base is big enough to split up
Have you guys seen how much the player base spiked when 2v8 launched? On Steam alone it nearly reached 100k, god knows how much on consoles… It would be in BHVR's best interest to make this a permanent game mode and tweak it where need be

The demand for 2v8 has been around for many years. It makes absolutely no sense for the developers to introduce this for a few weeks and then take it away

  • BHVR did say that we should bare with as it's a new game mode, it's not going to be perfect at launch - it's something they will continue to work on providing it's popular enough to be a permanent addition to the game

I think any critic in regards to 2v8 is valid - as long as it's respectable then it's fine..

Seriously I feel like I am the only person ever picking this class. It's not a bad class I think, you get info and buff in healing around you on on yourself and you will be healing a lot in this mode.

It doesn't surprise me, in many games healer seems to be considered the weakest role and are usually the least popular… Personally it's my favourite - seeing injured survivors? Give me those extra points

Pretty sure it's definitely not because "how easy killers have it in 2v8", it's pretty obvious the reason is many thing, main reason being killers finally being playable with friends

game is extremely survivor sided as long as both sides plays seriously, luckily majority of survivors won't play serious in slightest

I agree, I think the killer que is so long because people are just excited they can finally play as killers with their friends - I don't blame them, this is something we have always wanted.

I'm usually a survivor main and I dont think 2v8 is too difficult, I escape most of the time… What's annoying is when killers stay together and work to take down a single survivor - those situations tend to make me feel quite helpless.

Perhaps making the maps slightly bigger would help & spread the generators around a tad more

  • I'm sorry you got accused, and good on you for having evidence that backs up your case. Considering the current situation with an influx of hackers, the community are more than likely just on edge.

  • Anyone would think this game is still in beta for 6 years

  • Unfortunately, I'm not artistic enough.

I always have these amazing images in my head but I can never seem to get them down on paper... It ends up looking like a kid's drawing.

Can't wait to see what the community come up with. My only wish is that the developers are a tad faster in implementing it... Because at the moment it feels slow. Wasn't there a mild uproar on social media because Claudette's last one was missing the thong?

  • I personally don't understand the whole 'will x be the death of DBD?'

No developer makes a game with that idea in their mind. It's like with VHS, all people ever did was talk about this rivalry that only existed amongst the fans while the developers were bantering with each other on Twitter.

Each new asymmetrical game will develop their own reputation and hopefully stand on their own two feet.

  • It's unfortunate, and this is becoming more of a regular occurrence. Needless to say, I'm devastated.

The hackers that are in DBD are actually going to target VHS too... A game that's not officially launched yet.

I really do hope legal action is taken against these hackers, because not only are they affecting people's entertainment, first and foremost they're affecting people's business.

  • I'm quite shocked at the amount of people who are against this idea. Even the comment that says 'we dont have the biggest playerbase' ....There's 28k people online at the moment on Steam, and not sure how many on console.

Is everyone aware it's been 6 years of the exact same game? The only difference is they've added new survivors and killers... The rift/Tomes I don't consider new content because you progress through it just for playing the same repetitive mode.

I for one would like to see more game modes, it's long overdue. The much anticipated 2V8 would be an excellent addition, my friend and I want to play the killer role but wouldn't dare do it solo... So, I think duo-killers would be fun.

    No means no.

But if you want further explanation:

    • The chat changes that are needed are not removing it, but optimizing it. Make an option to permanently disable it, remove or repair the chat filter (something utterly stupid got blocked for me yesterday, think it was a perk name), and allow it be used cross-platform.
    • Restricting teachable perks to the survivor they originate with not only kills the entire concept of teachable perks, but also removes survivor variety from trials. It also lets a killer know exactly what perks they can or cannot expect to see on every survivor, which is just stupid.

    So, again: no.

For your first point, I don't deem the chat necessary overall. I don't consider 'gg wp' a means to keeping the chat around, other than that people use it for aggressive behaviour or VERY rarely, using it for banter.

As I said to amazing_grace earlier, survivors and killers now are majoritively running the same meta builds as it is... There's no uniqueness, at the moment I'm expecting killers to be using BBQ and Chili, I'm expecting survivors to have DH and DS, there's no variety if everyone's just using meta teachable perks to create an ultra overpowered build.

We will agree to disagree, thank you for your comment :)

In terms of wanting to "encourage build diversity", I think rewarding players for playing with diverse builds would be a lot more productive than forcing them to play with diverse builds.

For example, instead of limiting what perks people are using:

    • Give each player a set of random 'daily perks', 3 or 4 for both killer and survivor, unique to each player.
    • Pick these perks from the whole perk pool, so that players can potentially try out perks they don't have, or perks they don't have unlocked on a particular killer.
    • Give the player some kind of bonus or incentive (XP, BP, shards, etc.) for playing with some or all of the 'daily perks'.
    • (optional, potential for lots of negative side effects) In addition to MMR, attempt to matchmake players with players who are using a similar amount of 'daily perks'. People who are running a standard build will be put with other standard builds, and people playing randomized builds will be put with people playing randomized builds.

This is just an idea, and it has some problems, but I think it demonstrates that giving people reasons to play off-meta can be much more interesting, rewarding and engaging than just changing the limiting factor on build diversity from 'the meta' to 'the characters'.

I do like this idea! Thank you for your comment.

    No.

Cant do anything with this I'm afraid, I'm gonna need you to elaborate :) Or at least bounce off my idea and propose a more fair option.... Blunt replies don't really contribute much.

The problem is that restricting shareable perks wouldn't have a microscopic effect. It would have a really big effect on killers and survivors because you know that certain killers and survivors can only have certain perks. You can narrow down what hexes the killer might have and basically guess the survivor's build as well.

I do understand where you're coming from, and I see why people fear this implementation will ruin players current 'unique perk layout', but at the moment majority of survivors and killers use very similar perk layouts as it is... Which defeats any sense of uniqueness. Nowadays, I just expect killers to have BBQ and Chili and survivors tend to have DH, DS, SH or COH.

I still retain the belief that this change will give the different survivors more identity and their own contribution to each match.

In this case, we will agree to disagree :) Thank you for your comment amazing_grace, I appreciate your feedback.

Restricting teachables would a good way to kill killer/survivor variety as some of them have god awful perks.

Ace would be Jeff level rare and Jeff would become an urban legend.

That's where the beauty comes in where people would be torn between...

A.) Playing their favourite survivor, puckering down and getting on with it and making do with the variety of shareable perks

    OR

B.) Play a survivor they absolutely hate for the sake of slightly min-maxing and having a microscopic advantage over other survivors/killer

Yes, this would change the min-maxers meta, but nothing can be as bad as the current meta which hasn't changed in years.

  • What interests me is the developers gave the "Okay" signal on releasing this... Like, they didn't think she looked weird. I know essentially they copied and pasted her from Capcom's engine but my god she looks like an offspring of Nea and Quentin. I hope her face gets fixed eventually because DBD are renewing old survivor's faces and its very strange they're releasing new faces that look like.... that.
