MMR should specifically prevent that unless you yourself play sweaty. ...
lol it has never worked. first test felt like they turned off match making. second test same thing. third test they deleted all the data gathered over the last year or so keeping killers locked into the same killer they queued up as making them not be able to do things during the long wait for a lobby, survivors can spend blood points on other survivors, killers can't do that. YEA and the third test deleted all that data... thanks much! and still we are limited as a killer... yet i'm both so i have the ability tyo spend points on survivors when i'm waiting for the survivor queue. I will tell you last rift i didn't even TRY, I had so much more fun playing final fantasy 14 through it.. and i'm finding it hard to find the WANT to play this rift too. the game has turned into social experiment 476,893,098 or did i loose a few million social experiments?

I said before they put the DC penalty in, "Please differentiate between someone pressing 'leave match' and their Internet going out. It's easy." And they didn't do it, so now we have to see several posts like this in a week.
yes that CAN be done and I think that should be done so that it can be dealt with more harshly. but the other aspect is not being able to differentiate between network instabilities or a person pulling their internet connect or shutting the game down themselves. that is something that also needs to be dealt with but it can not determine that so everything is considered.

Wow someone's a bit touchy on this subject aren't they
Well if it is a issue with their servers they can detect it PCs older than time were able to detect when something stops working as it should due to lag and crashes it wouldn't be hard to add a small crash detection to the servers.
do you know how windows knows to mark something as not responding? it times how long it has been from the last time the system has gotten an update from that one program. I've seen my video production software (VEGAS) be marked as not responding while it was proccessing the video I was compiling because there was no response from the program in a certain time frame. this is not the same as detecting if the issue is because of the server loosing connection/power or if something between the player and the server disconnected the line, or if the player's computer locks up etc. nothing can see that and make that determination without seeing EVERY little bit of information, not even the person on one end or another. Also if there was someone with the data from all sides it would be able to be discovered but that never happens.
in short, it is impossible for a program to know what happened on the other end, it only knows that connection was lost.

I don't know about that other FW, I don't really pay attention to who is/isn't in the program. If you have evidence feel free to approach BHVR Support with it and make a complaint about hypocrisy though.
Edit: I was responding to the one point where you said only one had been removed. I didn't bring up the other one because, again, I don't have any knowledge on the situation. Apologies.
quite understandable. I wasn't mad though I was clarifying. I made the statement so people would know what I was talking about without rehashing it, and it's understandable the confusion. and I was never upset at you or anything because you did respond thoughttfully and respectfully. again, Thank You for that. :)

To answer this one, you are not incorrect but you left out that the same number of people or more reported worse matches during the second test just as vocal or more and yet they didn't keep mmr going, thus the conclusion is they determined it NOT to be working as intended and thus not to be used.
Not to say this is wrong, but from my experience I'm noticing a lot more complaints about this test than the 2nd one.
We are NOT talking about the confrontations between the TWO fog whisperers where both used silly voices to show their disdain for the other. HOW EVER only one of them was removed from the program NOT both.
Both have been removed. A stream from yesterday confirms this- there is no FW symbol on screen for either parties.

This i did not know nor have I looked into that aspect of it. Again, though my comment was about OTHER fog whisperers doing things like this and not being censured

around 10/15 mins sounds about right, the situation you describe you can definitely report - it would be for the team of ACM's to decide if a rule had been broken...it would need video evidence however.
Though I agree with your point here, I really think that BHVR needs to be able to get the match data when anyone is repported and thus they can see what is happening via the dedicated server's eyes not just one person's view which can skew things as well as lead to incorrect conclusions.

that can also be a cover up to the fact they have no mmr system at all
Except that during the 2nd test a lot of people were saying that it was working well, and some streamers have been noticing it getting more consistent as matches go on. Not to take everything they say as truth, but considering the amount of time that they spend playing the game then they'd be the first to notice imporvements.
they take action against one fog whisperer for one supposed thing and there are several other fog whisperers that use the same thing and they are not censured.
1) Are we still not over that?
2) The other offending FW was removed from the program.
so they come out LATER and say this, "Oh by the way we deleted all the old data so it's just relearning things" WHY was this NOT said when the system was implemented? and don't tell me that was to be expected, because it wasn't as they kept the killers from changing once they readied up.
This one I don't have an answer for, and I wish they'd told us in advance. Or told us in general outside of a message at the top of the forums that you only see on the home page.
NO not even the worst company out there is that incompetent!
Disagree.
EDIT: Also, the enter key is your friend, I beg of you.
"Except that during the 2nd test a lot of people were saying that it was working well, and some streamers have been noticing it getting more consistent as matches go on. HOW EVER only one of them was removed from the program NOT both. I will also finish saying I am talking about at least one other fog whisperer that uses their voice in such a manner to express disdain about things and that fog whisperer is still in the program (I am not saying who it is because of the rules on this forum).
"This one I don't have an answer for, and I wish they'd told us in advance. Or told us in general outside of a message at the top of the forums that you only see on the home page."
I definitely agree with you here. Though it would be to their advantage to have put it out originally, thus my further statment which you disagreed with as is your right in that. I think they are handling this incorrectly and that is why I call into question the actual events. We do not know what they truly did as we can not see this. I have seen things that line up with that as well ass I've seen people who played several hours today they still were getting very weird match ups even after several hours of straight game play. I just do not know what is going on and do not believe we will be told anything.
I have to say I appreciate all your points and you did bring up valid ideas too so THANK YOU!, but the last, I was talking about pretty much two things and I didn't need to separate the thoughts.

This should explain a lot to everyone in this thread.
that can also be a cover up to the fact they have no mmr system at all. with the events over the last year confidence in the devs is at an all time low across most of the player base. changes that are made do not follow feed back given to them even from the fog whisperers, they take action against one fog whisperer for one supposed thing and there are several other fog whisperers that use the same thing and they are not censured. There is not a great deal of trust in anything they say. Their actions over the past 1-2 years are very suspect in many people's eyes. But hey a system that they re-enabled that has been watching for the better part of a year or more was not preforming as expected, so they come out LATER and say this, "Oh by the way we deleted all the old data so it's just relearning things" WHY was this NOT said when the system was implemented? and don't tell me that was to be expected, because it wasn't as they kept the killers from changing once they readied up. they KNEW they were deleting the data yet did not tell us when things started to PREVENT negative backlash about match ups??? NO not even the worst company out there is that incompetent! It explains that they realized they screwed up AGAIN or that they didn't care what so ever, and as I said before I truly believe match making is just turned off and everyone gets randomly matched.
-
IT is not working at all, i saw someone who is 6K hours, red ranks, fog whisperer AND in a swf got a newbie (very few hours in game) rank 20 then they got a rank 1 killer. First we suffer through not being able to change killer during matches because the MMR supposedly is watching a broken ranking system and NOW 24 hours into the test maybe a bit less they admit they RESET the information the MMR has gathered!!!!! OMG this tells me honestly that they invented this reset to explain why people that play so often get crappy matches and why newbies get so many high ranked killers. I do not think the MMR system is watching, I don't think there is an MMR system.... I think the issue is that they just turn off rank matching and let it go as a test.
I used to defend the devs a great deal but recent events have made me waver from it and I believe that I will not be spending any more money on this game what so ever... if I do that means I can get 1 ff7 emote each time a new chapter comes out instead of getting the chapter! I just don't know anymore. I don't hate the devs but I question what is really going on here, and I don't see any good answers coming.

he has mentioned this many times but this was his stream late last week and someone asked him about rank rewards , rank resett etc. he has said this for months when asked. this is exactly what information we've had since the last mmr trial that "was better" and he keeps saying it's coming soon, but has said this for months. I love Mclean, and I can see he's passionate about it but that vod is nothing new.

This entire post runs completely contrary to my experience.
- It's always the last Jigsaw box, which either takes 95% of the timer to remove, or my head pops because I can't get to the last box, because the Pig decides to chase me at some point.
- The Pig always camps and tunnels the survivor with the RBT, because the Pig is always an idiot.
I do think The Pigs RBTs need a bit of a rework.
I've yet to see it confirmed, but the lack of any RNG percentages leads me to believe that when a RBT is used, it is assigned a Box that holds the key for it, so the outcome is determined behind the scenes immediately, you just need to guess which one it is. This means you have a 25% chance of it coming off at each box. Or more specifically, 25% at the first, 33% at the second, and 50% at the third/fourth.
If instead of this locked-in chance at the outset, Boxes had a fixed RNG value for removing a RBT, then it could be tweaked until it was balanced better. Give every Box the ability to remove the trap, but have the chance of it succeeding dependent on staggered RNG the same way Trappers Bear Traps work.
1st box = 30%, 2nd box = 60%, 3rd box = 90%, 4th box = 100%.
You could then have different chances for inactive/active RBTs. So maybe:
Inactive: 1st box = 20%, 2nd box = 40%, 3rd box = 80%, 4th box = 100%.
Active: 1st box = 40%, 2nd box = 80%, 3rd box = 100%.
And these could even be adjusted via add-ons:
Moderately decreases the chances of an active trap being removed at a Jigsaw Box. (1st box = 30%, 2nd box = 60%, 3rd box = 90%, 4th box = 100%)
ok so you know if there are 4 boxes and you have been to three boxes, the percent chance to get the RBT off on the 4th box is 100%... hmmm so here is how it is, each box has a 25% chance of being the right one at the begining, the second one a 33.3% chance, the third a 50% chance and the final fourth box is 100%. i'm soooo sorry you can't get it off in time, but i mean 4 boxes, 2.5 minutes and you can't get to 4 boxes? wow never has that happened. many times I'll search one or two and if i don't get it off I'll get on a gen and do it then only have 2 or 3 to look in while it's beeping.... sooooo hard.

You don't know if the killer is going to go back to the hook. There are so many factors that will make you want to tap the gen. It's not as easy as don't touch the gen. I'm not going to write a whole essay about how it's not as easy as don't touch the gen because I'm already responding to people to make them understand the point of the post
how about this? you don't know if the survivor is going to stick at the hook, heal or repair a gen either, so it's a chance that the killer has to make the choice of what to do, continue what he was doing or go back to the hook. you survivors have the same type of choice. hey do I stick here and do a gen and risk the killer coming back or do I go find some where else to be and risk running into the killer elsewhere? if DS shuts down because you do a gen and the killer doesn't come back did you loose anything? nope! not at all! you get to use it your next hook. how about this if you do a gen and thus deactivate DS and the killer downs you and hooks you have you lost anything with the perk DS? nope you get it when you get off the hook the second time. it's that easy, you make the tactical choice of what to do and that is exactly what you had before, except you could hop on a gen and for 55 seconds or even 59 (but we all know you'd not have ds after that) repair a gen that takes 80 seconds to repair without worry that the killer would touch you, why? you have DS! and you'd stay on the gen till the killer grabs you thus weaponizing the perk and this is WHY it was edited to deactivate here.

Like I have responded to many people you can tap one of those things and it deactivates. For example, you can get unhooked and want to finish a gen because it's almost done but oh no the killer started to come back and now your DS is deactivated now you're getting tunneled. I know how you are going to respond "Don't do the gen then if you know the killer is going to come back". You don't know if the killer is going to come back. There is a big flaw in the new DS
@Sup3rCatTree said:

You aren't tapping a gen in a chase, you can tap it right after getting unhooked and start working on it. But then the killer immediately comes back now your DS is deactivated so then you get tunneled
then don't TAP a gen. it's actually something that I don't like and should be much longer to STOP a gen from regressing. it takes time for a killer to kick the gen, it should take the SAME time at minimum for a survivor to get a gen to STOP regressing. this would mean you would then forward the game your DS should be deactivated. It is your choice as to what you do.

Okay, before we get into my rebuttal, I want to address this because it's a huge pet peeve of mine.
Stop trying to make it easier on survivors and wanting it HARDER on killers...
I'm entitled to argue anything I want, within the community guidelines. If you're not willing to discuss with me, that's fine, just let me know and we'll end the discussion. Another thing, I don't want killers to be gutted and survivors to be easy mode, you're just assuming things about me at this point, which I also don't like in discussions.
Let's try this again: Let's have a reasonable discussion or else, I'll just end the conversation and move on.
No it was designed with player choice. when to use it. it didn't have to be used right away. this is how it should stay. it isn't if the killer is tunneling or not, it just gives the survivors the requirement to be tactical about its use, just as the killers must be tactical in using their power and perks.
Not a good comparison, you're comparing a perk that has one use to a power that can be used throughout the game. To add on, DS has so many conditions to prevent abuse upon of the counterplay that killers can do against it, having it active on every hook won't be the end of the world. UNLESS you tunnel religiously, but even then, the survivor might have deactivated the perk from earlier or you can probably just wait out the timer by slugging, you might catch a survivor going for the rescue if you're lucky.
Alternatively, to avoid all the trouble, you can not tunnel in the first place? Just play normal and do your best with hooks, if you do well enough with a decent killer, you won't have to resort to tunneling because your hooks are keeping survivors busy and away from generators. Killer isn't rocket science unless you're playing a low tier killer against a decent group of survivors, but at that point, DS isn't the problem, that's solely to do with the killer.
you are the one telling me that my argument is wrong, you are the one dictating how I say something. You should think about that, and realize that you are taking this personally. Your post was talking about how this HAD to be done and it's good for the game, I however disagree that it would be good for the game. Your post led me to believe you wanted to punish people for doing their objectives as it it's wrong for them to do so. If it was against the rules i'd be 100% behind you but it is part of the game, and a tactical choice the killer must decide on doing. You think it's a crappy thing to do, you think it's toxic, you think it should be "PUNISHED" thus why you think DS should be active twice in a game. I disagreed and you decided to take that personally. I said to stop wanting easy mode, but that is exactly what would happen. Killer examples: PIG has 2-6 traps depending on add ons and must tactically think when using them. Her power doesn't last the whole match! it lasts until she is out of traps and there is no way for her to get any more. Freddy has 5 puddles and 7 pallets now and he must tactically apply them. Hag has 10 traps and must tactically place them for best results. It does not matter if a perk has one use and is then gone, the choice is yours tactically to use it or not to use it. If you make it active on both first and second it's used twice a match and that's oppressive to the killer. I made logical arguments and said to stop thinking that way, and it is your choice to follow my suggestion or not, I can't order you to do anything you don't want to do.
You how ever decided to do the SAME thing you accused me of in your response trying to make it sound like you were the good guy here. you aren't the good or bad guy, you just decided to try and act out your own anger. meh how can I logically argue with someone that thinks that all killers have infinite uses of their power that is hilarious.

Undying WAS oppressive, perks like Ruin aren't meant to be up forever and it was quite often that survivors would need to cleanse Ruin multiple times combined with the fact that on killers like Blight, Nurse, Spirit, and other strong killers you would usually end up losing a match because you got unlucky with Ruin. Plus, it had absolutely no synergy with token based hex's which made them obsolete. Freddy is being nerfed for a good reason, he has many things in his kit, far more than most killers and none of it has any punishment for him. Look at Demogorgon, he's essentially a much weaker Freddy. Freddy has stronger anti loop as it allows him to spam snares on a loop without being slowed down while Demogorgon needs line of sight and even then can be juked on top of all that. Freddy can teleport to any generator and yeah, Demogorgon can teleport anywhere but it requires him to go over to that place, place down the portal, and then even after all that has a global audio cue, a visual cue, and his portals can be destroyed. I could go on and on but I'm not going to for time.
Mori's got nuked for a really good reason. Keys also need a nerf, but its not as simple as changing a singular number. They need an entire rework, addons included. Spirit prayer beads were quite possibly the most overpowered addon in DBD, the amount of free grabs you would get with this item and the complete lack of information on the survivor side made facing off against a prayer bead spirit to be a extremely tough match, usually ending up in a loss for them if they weren't coordinated enough.
Just because one side gets nerfed doesn't mean the other one also needs a nerf and vice versa. Sometimes one side will get nerfed or buffed more than another one, that's how balancing works. Remember that one period of time where survivors got infinites removed, Insta heals nerfed, and toolboxes nerfed? Those were heavy nerfs, but did you see the devs also compliment that change by destroying Killers as exchange for doing that? Did you see them make every Killer a 110 because they took out infinites? No, because that's not how balancing works.
1) I was giving EXAMPLES of things being nerfed on the killer side, because people were saying nothing was being done.
2) Undying was never oppressive to me. why? I took down EVERY totem I found. doesn't matter if ruin kept moving just meant I kept getting 1500 blood points PER cleanse for that! I don't call that very oppressive.... oh yea noed was nixed by totems being done, and we still got out and gens done with 3 or 4 survivors leaving the gates because we did what we are supposed to. It's oppressive if you don't do your SECONDARY objective which is TOTEMS but since doing bones is a chore and a waste of time.... lol
3) keys can easily be fixed: change hatch open time to 0 after a key is used. it closes RIGHT after the person with the key uses it. one variable changed just like moris and blamo it's been nerfed to the ground just like moris, BUT you can still get the Houdini achievement.
4) I never said that both sides have to be nerfed to make it equal, again I was giving examples of how the survivor complaints are acted upon much much much quicker than killer complaints. killers have been complaining about keys, gen speed, DS, BT and many many more things, it took 2 years for DS to be mildly changed to make it less oppressive against the killers. keys have been promised to be addressed for 3-4 years and yet they have done nothing and changing the hatch open time to 10 seconds doesn't change the issue with keys, survivors are still able to move the hatch and know where it will be and all get out in less than 5 seconds once the key is used.
5) infinites were never supposed to be in the game, if you relied on infinites you are not that good of a player. so stop crying about that, and how long were they in the game? 3.5 years? killers have been complaining about them for that length of time and suddenly it's "fixed" and it's an example how the killers are getting almost instant fixes to complaints? lol no it is not.

You only get hit by DS if you're tunneling, end of story. If you get hit by DS on every hook state, the problem isn't the perk, it's how you're playing to get hit by it.
no it was designed with player choice. when to use it. it didn't have to be used right away. this is how it should stay. it isn't if the killer is tunneling or not, it just gives the survivors the requirement to be tactical about its use, just as the killers must be tactical in using their power and perks. what you are wanting is to remove the choice from the player and make it easy mode, which survivors have it very easy now. and YES as a solo queue survivor I CAN do gens, totems AND get out about 50% of the time as long as I do not just blindly go do things. Stop trying to make it easier on survivors and wanting it HARDER on killers (no I am not saying that the second automatic DS makes it hard) by having them nerfed and still make it easier on the survivors. as it is the game is hemorrhaging killers which make wait times for survivors longer and longer.

Yep, that pallet bug and survivors never being able to stun killers and constantly getting hit through pallets sure was dealt with immediately...oh wait.
What about all those Spirit complaints? The Devs definitely took their side and immediately nerfed her into the ground...wait, they didn't do that either did they? Darn.
Ooh! I know one! Remember how people have been complaining about Deathslinger for a year? He's had so many nerfs that he's unplayab- wait nope that didn't happen either.
hmmm let me see oh "Undying is sooo oppressive!!!!" 3 months after they put the perk in the game they nuked that into the ground. let me see freddy's being nuked, survivors mori's are oppressive! killers keys are broken! moris get nuked, keys ignored 6-7 months. need I go on? oh yea spirit's prayer beads are too oppressive! changes them to map wide, making it a meme thing only like legions iri button but there is no second action for prayer beads like button.
it's been a great deal lately and very LITTLE nerfing on the survivors side... oh they do some but not to the extent that the killers get it. in this up coming package huntress, freddy and two others are getting nerfs and one nerf is accompanied by a small buff. and DS was changed to what it should be and is deserved. freddy's gutting was not deserved!

We're going to have a disagree then, because someone who is injured is most definitely still in play, so you would not be returning them to play, thereby not advancing the game. And, again, healing someone is still wasting the time of two people.
so by your own statement you are healing someone that is in play therefore you are forwarding the game state. so if the ones that are down are "in play" then anything that betters their condition forwards the game state. your original supposition was that it does not and to not forward the game state as you put it they must *NOT BE IN PLAY* so well I'm sorry you killed your own argument there. oh guess what.... i'm being generous by saying the perk is in it's state now is ok. there are still several things i'd do to it and I do play survivor too.

DS should work on both hooks states to be honest, with how many conditions been hammered into it to successfully trigger, as well as the counterplay, the killer must be hard-core tunneling you if they get hit by it twice and they would deserve it.
no it should be a choice of the player do they use it off the first or second hook. keep that choice there without it the perk is over powered, especially with a swf.
@SavouryRain said:
DS really shouldn't deactivate if you aren't picking someone up off the ground. If you're healing, that's still time not being spent on gens, thereby not progressing the game.
But, picking someone up off the ground should deactivate it.
if you HEAL someone else you are forwarding the game because you are returning someone back to play or PROGRESSING their healing capability for others to finish the heal. that is the definition of forwarding the game state. so no this is not a good idea.

Second I never said it was okay to run the break down builds. Quote me if you think I'm lying.
I don't know about your other posts but no this does not need to be rethought well actually if it does they need to make sure to add hopping in a locker to deactivate it. if you stick by the hook the killer knows you're there and can come to you 1 minute later or 1 second later. if you FORWARD game state the killer should not be punished for doing his objective. if that was the case survivors should be punished for healing for 1 minute after unhooking... (obviously not the best analogy but best i can think of). it's good the way it is now tbh. better than it's been in the past 2 years.

Forget about keys. The devs won´t nerf them any time soon. So just switch to survivor and enjoy matches that are shorter than the survivor queue.
soon enough there will be only the queue.

What, to you, is using a key, if using it to get out is abusing it?
That the spawn rate in chests is too high, i agree with.
People go into matches and expect to find them and then use them because they KNOW the chances are high they will get them. this is the abuse to intentionally go in to get them and then when they don't find them some will dc and move on. they are intentionally using something to shorten the matches and make killers de-pip and go from there. I've seen people not want to finish and complain because they brought a key and the killer was keeping the gens not completed etc. as if they were supposed to just be LET out. this is abuse when they are intentionally trying to make things not as intended. sure finding a key and using it isn't abuse, but when you expect to find it and dc then that's abuse at least two times over. I'm a 50/50 as I play both side and I'll admit I'd love to find a key and use it to get out, I admit I have keys stored for use at times, but I don't complain if I don't get a key, or if i don't make it out with the key etc. I might be disapointed but after i'm done i just move on, it's a game yes.

I have an interesting proposal. Now the idea would be that we would need to all agree to compromise.
Many survivor mains myself included want to address camping. Many killer mains want to address keys.
Here's my proposal, first we agree on a solution to both issues.
Then we constantly post about it. (Not spamong the forums but a thread that's constantly being bumped and maybe including a link to it in all other posts)
Thirdnand most important though is we have to agree to accept both solutions. If one of us starts arguing against one solution then someone else will argue against the other and it will devolve into what it already is instead of a united front the devs may actually listen too.
Here's my proposed fix for both issues but it will need to be tweaked I'm sure.
1 camping. The hook timer does not progress if the killer remains withing x feet of the hook unless the killer is in a chase.
2. Keys rather than lower spawn rates in chests (because this wouldn't Address bringing them in with you) I see other posts about treating opening the hatch the same as cleaning a totem with the time required being effected by perks as cleansing possibly as opening the gate.
Thoughts, both on the overall idea and on the two solutions? Remember we have to be prepared to compromise guys
SORRY, survivor mains wanted to address moris, killer mains wanted to address KEYS.... devs said they were looking at both and they've ALREADY dealt with moris, now you want to "ADDRESS" camping???? great way to FORGET what happened 6-7 months ago without any preamble. what's next? NOED? TUNNELING? how about no killer at all so you win every game!

I never get keys unless I run Plunders. Which is not to say they might not be spawning more than usual, but it could also be people's bias reinforcing their opinions.
I've seen it happen more often than not. in three chests without plunderers or other extra search or change of chances you should not get 2 purple keys! they are "very rare" 2 out of 3 chests is not very rare.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
You can't abuse keys. You not liking something doesn't mean it's being abused.
keys are supposed to be a rare item yet they are almost as abundant as a brown medkit is if not more so. I've seen TWO purple keys found in a match where no extra chests were added, and the person serching did not have ANYTHING that allowed more chance (pluderer's etc) to find something good OR even a second search. just straight up two searches in two chests got purple keys. there is something that changed since the perk Hoarder was added and then changed that made keys more prevalent. the abuse is not that they are used but there is no counter to them and nothing has been done in 6-7 months since it was announced they would make changes! this is the problem people have and why it is seen as abuse.

Can you just repeat 3verythung you said with keys?
Survivors are weak and keys are a legitimate way to escape
Killers shouldn't expect to get 4 kills etc
who cares? the fact is that mori's were just nuked, iri head is being nuked, survivors are being BUFFED again and again and again. killers are loosing functionality and survivors are gaining functionality and it is further making things bad. now here is a fun fact when mori's were nuked keys were going the be worked out "in an inspirational way" till then they are going to be used as they are. now 6-7 months later it's getting a minor edit that does nothing to change the status quo. it's as if it's the first time mori's were nuked before and keys were to be reworked... they are hoping people will forget about keys and making this purely a one sided game. fact is if you have 10000 people and the 2000 players that are killers leave the 8000 players that are survivors will never get a game till they go to killer and find out how bad it is for killers and THEY leave too.
The empty promises... the quick nerfs for killers and taking 2 years to make changes to a perk that was broken upon changes... what do you think? people are upset, people are tired of loosing functionality because the other side cries "it's too tough!"

K , so yeah this guy anyway was a massive prick... end of really... and things like this should be reported because its not fair and not fun to be sat there lying on the floor like half dead sardines
well you can also say it's not fun to see someone DC and give another the hatch immediately, not fair or fun at all! so who's fun is more important? the killers? or the survivors? every not fun argument can be turned on it's head and applied to the other side. so reporting someone that slugs for the 4k is 1) a waste of time because the devs will not do anything about it and 2) it's not against the rules.

You most certainly can report them - for holding the game hostage, for toxic gameplay.
you can not report someone (well you can but it'll be dismissed) since slugging is not an offense against the rules. how about someone decides to report your tbagging (just a general your there not you specifically) as toxic game play? the devs will disregard that report as well, it just wastes people's time when you report things that is NOT against the rules of the game.

@SunderMun said:
Don't stay near the hook for a long period of time?
Hit them if you have stbfl and they're not the obsession.
Bodyblock them, wasting their time, especially if it was a basement hook (this will be more effective in the next patch with the buff-nerf of BT meaning that endurance lasts less time for some odd reason)
@Freki No, the BT change simply makes it range based, not any time they're unhooked. If the survivor is unhooked across the map from you, they will not have BT, and even if they did, it wouldn't affect you whatsoever.
incorrect the terror radius is not a factor, so even if the killer is in the farthest corner of the map the unhooked player will get BT. that was stated by McLean and the others many times! now it may not affect the killer but bt triggers and affects.

Slugging is fine sure but doing this when the game is clearly over is just toxic and waste people's time. I'm sorry are you trying to defend this toxic behavior?
I am saying that is what the devs see it. you see toxic, the devs do not. at no time does percieved toxic game play warrant another break of the rules as there was no infraction the first time. I am not specifically defending the practice but I am however saying it is not against the rules and the devs will do nothing against slugging. even in the first few mintes before a gen gets completed or if there is 1 left. doesn't matter.

It's not one of those killers/survivors are op arguments. I just really can't wrap my head around why someone is gonna play and pull this rubbish. What is the enjoyment of camping the hook to lure everyone in then leaving us on the floor? Other than disconnecting what are we supposed to do with this? I didn't know every single map is only 32 meters long/wide. That's news to me.
the change to BT removes the terror radius from the equation and BT triggers anytime someone is removed from the hook, it was on the PTB and what the DEVS have said will hit live at the mid-chapter.... I did not say it was that way currently just that is what will happen at the mid-chapter
-
@Zixology said:
Don't be close enough (camping) for BT to activate in the first place.
BT will trigger EVERY time once the mid-chapter goes in.
@CornHub said:
When someone gets unhooked & you want to go for the rescuer, but the person is bodyblocking because they have BT. What are some counters to this besides waiting out the 15s as people who do this sometimes have ds.
No pre-unhook tactics like "just grab the person" or prevent the unhooking from even happening please
not much you can do... perhaps the stalking trick with myers.... but other than that not much, just hit them to make them mend and then go after the other, or since they decided to body block, they didn't run so in my mind they made themselves an active target, go after them and rehook the one that body blocked. if they want to play that way, to me they forfeit their claim on tunneling at that point.
-
downside depends on the perks in play, normally no but the killer has reasons to keep the obsession hooked, injured or even keeping them for last. so in essence no, but dependent upon the perk in play there may be some issues. now I am going to say this, the killer gets points for killing the obsession, but ALSO there is an achievement for escaping as the obsession and also you get points for escaping as the obsession too. so it evens out over all. Examples of perks that affect the obession: remember me - 1 hit = 4 extra seconds to open the door for everyone else, so it's in the killer's interest to hit you 2-4 times (ranks 1-3) and kill you in some way before gates are powered that way the obsession won't avoid the extra opening time.

You get 50,000 for doing one tutorial. There are tutorials for both killer and survivor so together that's 100,000 bp. That's well on the way to getting all 4 slots which should just take a few games after that. We all managed to figure it out before now so your friend will as well.
it was 25K per tutorial. 50K total :) still :) that got me to just into level 4, but very close to level 5 to be opened.
@The_Krapper said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2132463#Comment_2132463
Yea it's not that hard to get there but you also have to think that while they're just trying to level up to the point of all slots unlocked they're getting matched with fully loaded players who have teachables from other characters while they're confined to a limit on EVERY character they own until lvl 15 and have no way to try something else out without being at a disadvantage
so you have the tutorials you can do for 50K and the first few challenges for 15K a piece and in tome 1 level 1 it was quite easy to do one or two in a few matches, so blood points are coming, plus you get 5-10K generally as you work through the matches each time and that's if you die early. When I started, I faced full load outs like you said, not as badly as there are mismatches today but it wasn't easy to learn the game. most people playing in the game now have someone around that will generally help them so it's not inconceivable that they will face higher ranked killers but those people need to keep it positive for the newbie to keep them interested and they'll get the points.
-
@The_Krapper said:
I feel like with the current state of the grind for newer players and matchmaking being as bad as it has been for newbies that BHVR should remove the locks on accessing perk slots with characters and just always have 4 available, I have a friend who is constantly being matched up with killers who are high ranked and fully equipped when he's got less than 20 hours in the game and is just learning trying to play solo, it's hard to keep people attracted to this game when the grind is this crazy and the matchmaking is constantly shitting on new players
it's not that hard to get to level 15.... more than likely you'll only have about 8 or 10 perks in general. meh not hard..

the not stun issue was confirmed as a bug and that the bug was fixed and should be fixed in the mid-chapter patch (was watching mclean's stream the other day when he said it was fixed, just not on the PTB)

Oh I wasn't trying to be disrespectful or anything I apologize if I was. I don't think viewership determines how good or bad a killer is. And I play with and against streamers quite often and I think it's cool people stream the game I think it helps the community grow. And people who don't play DBD that watch streamers might think "I'll try this game out" Because it's a lot fun.
fair enough, but if you objectively look at your comment you'll see where it seems like you were being disrespectful. and I appreciate that you want to apologize, but it's not to me for that as I was not that spirit you brought up. and I too agree with you, I think streaming can be a great thing for the game and it's how I started playing in 2018.

I've seen very skilled streamers that are killer mains playing and have problems with a 4 man or even solos that are good at what they need to do. And yes they bring gen defense/regression perks as well. and it's not always a walk in the park. i'd love to see how many times you REALLY have hard games and how many of those you've actually lost and how fast gens are popping in your matches. but I doubt I will because I doubt you're a streamer yourself. You are very quick in jumping to questionable conclusions about what I meant and getting offended basing on your assumptions.
Small streamers can play better or worse than average players, because they are, in fact, average players - on average. There's no need or reason to approach them differently simply because their screen is being shared with several other people.
then your comment "Any man who must say "I am a ttv streamer", is no real ttv streamer." was what? a questionable conclusion? lol I spoke about what using TTV in a name can do for a smaller streamer. you are the one that insulted ME by stelling me that I am not a real TTV streamer because I use TTV in my name. I explained why I use it, why it's a valid use of it and you are telling me now I am the one jumping to questionable conclusions? I know several larger streamers and I know why they don't put it in there, and I can tell you without a doubt that those larger streamers don't advertise in most other smaller streamer's discords because I don't see them do it. so are you now saying that you did not mean that I am not a real ttv streamer because I use TTV in my name? or what exactly did you mean then? lol
so you know: I know a good number of larger dbd streamers, not personally but I do know them: Streamdad, ThatViolinChick, Threat Designs, No0b3, hmmm I know there are more out there but those are a few... oh yea 2 of them I know are or were fog whisperers. I also know a great many not so big streamers.... so tell me where my conclusions are questionable and I was only offended at your very questionable conclusion in the first that I replied to.

If it was hard for a killer to win a game because of gens, then no killer would win a game, last time I checked, most slightly skilled killers don't have the struggle you're talking about, and I am a trapper main
where do you get the idea that a hard game is unwinable by a killer??? lol so you'd like to see as a trapper main a 45 second generator speed with only one survivor on it and no perks/tools helping? or are you saying at 80 seconds you are having very little problems? I mean you tell me what you're saying because I didn't advocate for shorter gen times. but if you want 45 or 50 seconds for a single gen to be done by a solo survivor with nothing helping them along I'm sure other killer mains would tell you that is a PERFECT IDEA!
-
@ciabay1999 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2122296#Comment_2122296
So you want the survivor to sit on a generator for 2 minutes and expect them to enjoy the game just so it's easier for you? A survivor on a gen that takes 80 seconds give you enough time to patrol and find the survivor, if you're struggling then maybe think about your strategy instead of blaming the gens
where did I SAY THAT? I said that most killers agree that a solo survivor on a gen with nothing helping them is ok. but you know what YES I'd sit on a gen for 2 minutes as a survivor lol.... stop trying to twist what is said when it can easily be disproven. I'll wait for you to prove where I said anything about making gen speeds more than 80 seconds with one survivor and nothing else to help speed it up.

A single survivor on a gen takes too long as it is, lmfao
nope just because you don't like the length of time, if a solo survivor on a gen was any less than 80 seconds the game would be over before the killer could even get one hook and that's with the killer being very skilled.

I'm on console, and this is happening to me *all the time*. Constantly. I throw the pallet, it's down, I'm clearly on the other side of it, and yet the Killer hits me THROUGH the pallet. It's so frustrating.
It's happening to everyone I know.
this is not a bug! you can hit through a pallet on a 0 latency ping (in the tutorial, you can get the swing started in time to hit even though you get hit with the pallet by the AI). this is just a pure issue of latency and hit box/hit actualization. stop making it more than it is. there is nothing to do with it but deal with it. if the swing was in time for the game to register a hit just before the pallet hits the killer both will hit and have to deal with it. now the drop pallet on killer and killer gets pushed to the side you were on that is also latency but there is much more into this that the devs have to look into it and I believe there is a fix.
-
They don't think gens are toxic, just that the speed at which a gen can be completed is not appropriate. most will agree that a single survivor on a single gen is not bad, but not ideal either, but when you get 2 survivors and the completed gen happens in 44 seconds without prove thy self in play. Now add in more survivors, tool boxes, gen perks, brand new parts and you start seeing how things can get very dicey early on with 2-3 gens popping in the first two minutes of the match. nothing is toxic about any of this either it's just not very condusive to say trapper trying to set up an area to defend etc.

I'm not quite sure what you were trying to say, but generally big streamers don't put ttv tags to their nicknames due to an incredibly small quantity of people able to see it in-game relative to their general audience (direct consequence pf the absence of Spectate a match feature), which makes it irrelevant as a marketing strategy.
Not to mention that other r1 players are mostly alrdy aware of their existence - there are not that many "big names" of the kind in dbd.
so you're saying that any streamer that isn't already getting 100+ viewers is crap... got it... wow..... MY point is that DBD can help a stream to grow because of it's popularity on twitch along with the fact you are playing with 4 other players in general who would then know of your stream. I have a steady stream of viewers between 7-11 and sometimes more because I am a variety streamer and I've gotten new viewers having TTV in my user name so why not? it is a good advertisement deal to be honest, play a game and advertise to 4 others that don't know you (usually) so they now know you. what's wrong with that? why are they TRASH why are they bad because they are advertising themselves?
I said nothing about the bigger named streamers who use aliases including "I am totally not a TTVER" lol, that one had their twitch in their steam profile! the reason bigger streamers don't use TTV, is their advertising is done more to attract more than one or two at a time but 10-20 at a time in many other ways. you'll also rarely see those streamers advertise in other streamer's discords either. That's why I didn't mention them.
I guess I am no real TTV Streamer at all eh? because i advertise where I know I can reach others???
