Bring a medkit and use that to heal. That's how I did it.
Use a medkit, and pray for good team mates!

Omg that's just .....sad.

I actually did that one not too long ago. It counts if you only have SC equipped and use someone else's COH :0
Yeah but how many matches do I throw for people hoping one of the has CoH? Idk. Feels bad to be a detriment lol
-
I hear you. I tried to do that challenge of "Escape using 1".
And it's Self Care apparently. So you arent allowed any other perks than the mega-nerfed Self-Care, which makes you a despised member of the team as a Solo Q player, because people KNOW you're self-caring. And it takes 4 years to get a heal off (THANKS BHVR FOR THE DEAD PERK AND MAKING A CHALLENGED OUT OF IT).
So I had a team mate unhook spam me over and over, until a Leon actually interrupted him and unhooked me. I got a DM from the troll, who said he did it because " I was running self care in a corner".
again.. THX BHVR. GREAT CHALLENGES.
I gave up on it. I'll never buy another Rift again until I complete it first.

Then that's not on you. Just the happenstance of a certain match.

I like their design and little Vic makes me lol. In that way I like seeing them. But my God they all camp, tunnel and mass slug which is miserable. Last time I faced Twins the Killer parked Charlotte in front of a Devour Hope totem so it couldn’t be broken. Kept slugging with Victor.. would only hook when 2 slugs, all injured. Ran perks to make totem cleansing take years…. I mean it was a good if miserable strat and I don’t think it should be a thing where a Killer can physically block a totem while still being able to down survivors across the map
-
The Yui in your game was Prestige 11. Doesn’t mean they’re a cracking player, but means they’ve been playing long enough to have decent game knowledge and yet she somehow only got 6k blood points. I might be wrong, but this type of scoreboard sort of reeks of camping and tunnelling. Yui obviously had no chance to do much in the game. You have to spread out damage and hooks, break pallets, kick gens etc etc and be well rounded to pip in Iri ranks.

I would have agreed with you a month ago, but they changed it so that bloodweb item rarity was upped pretty much across the board. Getting rare stuff hasn't been a problem for me anymore.
I have no issue with the prestige system. It's neat, especially now that we're starting to see some big numbers, and lets people show off the characters they hardcore main.
Really? I just spent 300k Bloodpoints trying to find simple bandages. If there was a change, it certainly didn't make a difference for me. Tho I am glad the cost is lower since most of the BW is complete and utter shyte lol.
-
I think it would work with Angelique. She was taller ( I think? Been awhile). At least they could get away with making her taller. That way they wouldn't have to fuss with the camera angles.
-
They're meaningless basically. The only thing I don't like is that now you have to get to bloody 100 to stop starting over on the blood web with items.
Now it's like being a n00b every prestige level and waiting until 45 to get access to decent stuff.
-
Pretty sure it’s a typo and the perk is supposed to be Self Care

I have a solo q escape streak of 59 with Hyperfocus and a brown Toolbox. Not everything written in this forum is true.
Brown toolboxes are OP. I suggest they actually make gen repair slower while showing the survivors aura
-
Funny to see a 34 game win streak on Wesker when the forums are rife with threads to nerf Hyperfocus and toolboxes for being overpowered. The irony

Pinhead is so oppressive for Solo Q. Especially with the full sweat build they all usually run.

Was actually a crutch. Like come on, imagine getting a stun for free, that stuff should never be allowed. I hope they nerf it, I saw 1 survivor today who crutched on it and won the game for the team just by using that perk.
Momentarily inconveniencing a Killer who then needs to pay for a therapist to help him work through the Blast mine induced PTSD.
"I just... Idk, man. I see a generator, and i KNOW i should kick it. I KNOW the chances of me being stunned are like, 5%, but that one time in the shack, man.... do you have a tissue? Thanks. Anyways, i kicked the shack gen and just bam. A loud noise, I couldn't see anything and when i came to 3 seconds later I saw this Claudette in an ugly Christmas sweater running off into the corn field cackling. Every since then...
...... ever since then, man, I just freeze at a generator and can't bring myself to eat corn anymore. And I'm a goddam Japanese samurai DEMON, yanno? I'm supposed to inspire fear. Now I can't even put up a holiday wreath without practicing my breathing exercises. I just see that Claudette and her Christmas sweater taunting me..".
Thank GOD it was nerfed into uselessness.

i don't see it as problem. survivor items are 5th perks with 0 risk, full reward. the game is balanced 0 items for survivors and the killer with add-on +4 perk's. add-on deciding how powerful or how weak the killer is. Survivor that are using items are just wanting to win and have less stressful match. that is sort of how I see it. This isn't to sound like a killer main or anything, but I don't think items for survivor should exist. if survivor want an advantage, maybe it should be like a personal offering or something for survivor.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3175075#Comment_3175075
on average you lose 1 gen+ 75% progress of another gen per chase. that's survivor playing at its worst though. you can extend chases a lot more if you use pallets and windows effectively and.... most maps have a lot of strong windows and pallet. RPD feels so much weaker right now for survivor. I used to not mind RPD as much as survivor, but now I kinda dislike playing on that map as survivor. I think they went a little overboard on killer complaints on the map.
Survivor items are like 5th perk slots? Rather like Killer add-ons also serve as 5th and 6th perk slots by that logic? Why should advantageous Killer add-ons exist but survivors can't have some equivalent in an item?
-
I think everyone who plays Solo Q has had that moment where you yell "######### ARE YOu DOING?" at the screen to the Dwight that runs the Killer directly to the exact corner you're healing at behind the rock, or that Nea who fiercely teabags, demanding heals at the hook while a hatchet flies past your head so close you get an impromptu Huntress haircut.
So no, Nea. I'm not healing you here. RUN you fool.
One issue is with BHVR's precious SBMM. I wonder what the point of it is now, since survivors are mis-matched together regardless of skill to fill a lobby more and more + matched with a Killer who has 2k hours or something. So I don't get too cheesed off at team mates. A lot of them are newer/less experienced and it's not their fault they don't have more game knowledge yet. It's the stupid system that throws them out of their depth.
At the same time we've all made mistakes. I'm the absolute king of the "let go of gen- BOOM surprise skillcheck!". And I think in Solo Q we've all been guilty of running the Killer around the map, get caught up in surviving and accidentally run past team mates working on a generator "Ooopppps!".
Solo Q is the Clown World of Dead by Daylight. You just gotta put your fav survivor in their funniest outfit and laugh at it all sometimes.

I wonder what the first category would look like is he listed all the gen regression perks, and what the outcome is on gen repair time when used stacked. He's only taking into account a survivor working on a gen with no interruptions and no gen regression perks. So under very specific RARE circumstances.
I mean would any Killer worry about this against Solo Q? Or is this a call to nerf perks for the vast majority of the survivor player base because a tiny percentage of 4-man SWF's at the highest MMR can technically use the combo?
Maybe I missed something in the video.

It was probably just a bloodwarden, and the bug was that it displayed the wrong perk.
It couldn't have been Bloodwarden. For Bloodwarden to activate, the gate has to be opened, THEN the Killer has to hook a survivor. He/she was the last survivor. The blocked gate lasted 17 seconds. The lowest Tier of BW is 30 seconds. I don't think the game placed BW in there by mistake.
I think we've all faced Wesker about 700 times since the patch dropped, I have never seen this happen. His nodding the whole time as the exit gate was blocked is indicative that he knew what was going on.
Just my opinion, but probably good to report as both.

It highlighted the gen in yellow. Rather it was "come here and help" Or "don't come here if being chased"
I'm not saying the change was a good thing. I'm just pointing out BHVRs latest patten of not wanting perks to do multiple things
Yeah but Wiretap does the exact same thing. The gen is highlighted in green, and it gives you the Killer's aura. That's 2 things. As well, you only have to repair a gen for half the time it took to activate Blast Mine.
-
Watched the video, and that ain't right.
I'd report it with the video, or else post in Bug section if it's a bug.
His nodding implies he knew though. Very sus.

Oh, I have a story about spectate!
So it was down to me and one other survivor (a Jeff). It was Solo Q, but the Jeff was in a 2-man with a Yun-Jin who wasn't that great and did the least.
Jeff was doing a good job running the Killer and I got the last gen completed. But the Jeff went down. The Killer was Huntress and she 100% had BBQ. Wasn't sure if I was close enough to be out of BBQ range, I hop in a locker just before Jeff is hooked, and I go to 99 the exit gate so I have a chance to get Jeff out if I manage a safe rescue.
That's when I started getting Direct messages (on PS4 they pop up as you play on your screen top left) from the dead Yun-Jin, who is spectating, shrieking at me like a blathering harpy: "YOU COWARD! *Curse word. More curse words* SAVE JEFF NOW. You bjwbfkjdbwbfkjwbjk!!!".
....I'm like, 'what the ever living hell'? But it was distracting. So all I have time to type is "STFU you idiot." (lmao lol).
Her, contnuing: "HIDING In LOCKERS LIKE A ***expletive. EFFIN' *expletive"
So I ignore this absolute child, carefully make my way over to Jeff. I manage to grab him (WITH BT I might add b/c at that time the 5 sec BT was crap), he gets am endurance hit- we're running for the gate- I take a protection hit for for him and we both escape.
.... then this Jeff messages me and goes; "GG, thanks for the save". I told him his little fangirl was screeching obscenities at me the entire time, and maybe tell her that she should learn how to play the game before insulting other players. Maybe watch some streamers- or anything. And I don't care that she wasn't very good, that's Solo Q MMR- I just cared that she sucked but went postal at a stranger who was making the best play they could given the situation. Maybe that's why the Jeff and I ended up with over 25k Bloodpoints each and she got 7k.
He goes: "Yeah sorry about that she's just a bit passionate about people saving me ..."
Oh. Teenage love. How adorable. /s
On the Spectate topic though- I wouldn't want it disabled despite this pleasant experience, because when i first started playing, I learned so much from spectating others. Sometimes I'm really cheering for someone to get out, and like seeing if they make it.
It just sucks that a few people abuse it, but I don't think it's that common.

I mean sure but you're really jumping the gun here.
Nah, Otz "the God" (to some people lol) released a video on how Hyperfocus + Stake Out are overpowered or some such thing and the threads on the forums on it are increasing.
You explained yourself in another post though. If you see two survivors and one has a tool box it's entirely reasonable to go for the one with the tool box. I don't have a problem with that. Shouldn't have really aimed my comment at you specifically, just the concept that a Killer would tunnel a player out at 4-5 gens for carrying one! My bad.
-
@AlkaloidssOP said:

A) You should google what projecting means.
B) Some toolboxes are pretty busted so I can see why survivor carrying one is a priority. Also if you're speeding trough gens then tunneling is necessary for killer to even have a chance.
Its true killer's don't play nice all the time but do you think survivors do? How fun do you think it is to lose 2 gens because they brought busted items? Or play for 12 hooks, get genrushed and told "Ez, baby killer" in the endgame chat?
TLDR: Don't blame only killers for "unfun" games
There are basically only 3 items survivors can bring that are of any use;
Med Kit
Tool Box's (and even at that, only 2 of them are remotely useful. Brown tool kit is only good for carrying lunch).
Flashlight.
Devs nerfed keys and the hatch into oblivion so you never see them anymore. The idea that Killers specifically and intentionally target a survivor to remove from the match for bringing a random tool box is nutty. Of course you will see them regularly. It's literally one of the only items we can bring in. Gen repair time was increased, and Killers stack gen regression perks like no tomorrow. My God this whole Stake Out/Hyperfocus build freak out is so overdone. I've scarcely seen it used in Solo Q.
If you lot are so mad survivors can use a toolbox, why not bring Franklin's?
-
@Veinslay said:
If I see a survivor with a toolbox, they're getting hard tunneled from the jump. Odds are they have on the complete bs BtL hyperfocus stakeout , so no anti tunnel perks. You wanna tunnel gens, I tunnel you
So survivors can't bring an ordinary item anymore without you targeting them to ruin their game? How bizarre.
What is "tunneling a generator"? You mean working on it?

I understand it was a bug flx to something "they didnt know was bugged". However it was a nerf. 66% gen repair to charge it is ridiculous. At least have it match wiretap. That way the killer has a 50/50 guess if the gen has wiretap or blastmine.
Yeah I don’t believe them when they say that for a hot minute. A bug that lasted an entire year and a half with no complaints, not used much… no sir, Just BHVR lying again lol

- SBMM is a substantial improvement on RBMM.
You and I have a very different definition of 'facts' I think.
Disagree. I found Ranks way better, way more fun as Solo survivor. At least in red ranks you knew your fellow team mates had basic game knowledge. Now? A Solo with 2k hours will have a noob team mate to fill a queue gap.

Starting off as Killer on console is BALLZ. Seriously. It isn't optimised in the slightest, and PC players have a distinct advantage.
You also might be matched sometimes with SWF's (4 man with communication) and it's just demoralizing. I've been playing the game since 2019. Killer is really hard to learn and it hasn't gotten any better. BHVR needs to create a practice simulator.

I honestly never even thought about using it with sabo, thats a good idea. I'm not a fan of the mechanic of saboing in the first place, but I can absolutely see how you could pair empathy with the aura reveal of sabo for some good synergy. Half of why people discount sabo's aura reading is because they don't have enough time to run across the map to intercept the killer's path to the hook, so it could definitely help with that (especially if scourge hooks are in play.) Could also synergize with perks that recharge or gain value while inside the killer's TR as well, since you would be able to have an idea of how to remain at the edge of it and have a point of reference for whether the killer is disengaging and heading your way (similar to how spine chill was often used.)
Im sorry I triggered you and your little friend by stating I just wont engage in this particular conversation. Im sure you will live w/o me. Enjoy the new school year!

Even people who rant about the most biased perspective in the universe can accidentally give you good insight unintentionally, this game is pretty much designed around it. Its very easy to lose the forest for the trees if you just echochamber yourself.

Whats with this new trend of using people's post histories to dismiss them? You don't have to agree with someone to learn something from them, the entire point of discussion is supposed to be exposing yourself to different perspectives on a topic. Like even if you're going to do it, at least keep it to yourself and just leave the conversation quietly lmao
It has nothing to do with post history. In this case, it's my personal memory, knowledge, and being fully aware that further exploration will be futile for both parties.
I can signal whatever I want to end a conversation even if you don't like it. You can't tell me you haven't experienced forumers you explicitly clash with.

DS was overnerfed. I've said that numerous times before.
But:
- Baseline BT
- OTR buffed
- Baseline BT buffed
- Reassurance
Are all targeted changes to make tunneling and camping weaker, so it's dishonest at best to say 'BHVR holds killers hands to make it easier'.
I tried it out earlier, and unless you're on Nurse or something, the speed boost granted by the buffed baseline BT is more than enough to reach safety or get a bodyblock.
LOL Reassurance is useless in Solo Q.
All Ive seen of it are poor team mates who stupidly bought Rebecca running at me being camped to press their button.
The Killer will just camp it out anyways.

Assuming your actual healing source is a medkit, you can still bring a medkit stacked with a ton of extra charges. You only really need a handful of self-heals in solo queue anyway, you're not gonna be healing every single injury yourself, so you can easily get a good few heals out of medkits with BK.
Or, y'know, just don't bring BK. If you only cared about the efficiency, bring Streetwise instead. One perk.
Ah yes. Stacked with items from the Blood web where we now start from ground zero and get less decent shite. Anyways, I've seen you enough in the forum that I wont bother engaging with you anymore.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169142#Comment_3169142
You just have to change your self-heal strategy to account for the efficiency penalty, it's by no means a deal-breaker. If you wanna use a medkit, either bring extra charges or run Streetwise with it. Otherwise, pick another healing source; it plays very nicely with CoH, for instance, and then you have two perks dedicated both to healing yourself and healing your teammates.
It's really solid if you just put a little thought into it.
Oh good, so I have to dedicate 2-3 perk slots for ONE perk rather than the previous form of BK, where it took up just one slot.
God that is so efficient and balanced for Solo Q. I can't imagine needing perks for anything else. But you're right. I just don't think enough.
-
@jesterkind said:
I've used Empathy to complete the healing challenges that pop up in the tomes, and I have to agree- it's one of the better team-aura perks that I've personally used, a very solid pick for keeping teammates alive.
Botany Knowledge is also incredible now. We may have lost Self-Care, but Claudette's other perks are both really nice to bring into a trial.
BK sucks. Sure it heals team mates faster, but in Solo Q, God help you if you need a heal for yourself and pull a brown or green med kit out of a chest. You're screwed.
Botany was fine where it was/ They didn't need to screw with it.
I agree with OP- I run Empathy all the time and did so before they made Solo survivor Hell. I'm awaiting them to nerf it somehow- to be like; "Empathy shows you where injured survivors are at, but you will eventually make the noises of a wounded, shrieking harpy and alert the Killer to your position. BALANCE".

Yeah but they SHOULD.
It's absolutely useless now. A completely dead perk for no reason other than "Whelp it was used a lot cuz camping and tunneling. So we'll gut it, and buff camping and tunneling even moar!".
Idk how these jerks get paid tbh
-
I dont blame Solos for D/cing or hook suiciding anymore unless it’s due to something ridiculous like being the first one caught. Unfortunately, solos need SOME incentive to carry on in a match. The hope of escape used to be it. Now the hope of escape has dropped significantly and against Starstruck Double range Nurse when MMR has matched you with at least 2 potatoes, I can understand the match feels pointless. Because it kind of is. It’s just handing the Nurse her 11th easy 4K of the day. Idk; maybe BHVR should look at the stats and do something about that and their Jank Arse MMR system.
-
At least Wesker is a snappy dresser.
Silver lining and all that. Oh, and it's also really easy to refill Distortion tokens with him because his terror radius is huge lol
-
I'm stuck in low MMR hell due to camping and tunneling after 6.1. I'm lucky if I escape 2/10 matches.
I'm also matched with one team mate who knows what they're doing, and two pretty newbish ones on a regular basis, so when I do manage to escape, most of the end game stats look like this:
Bless, this Oni wasn't actually camping. But there's a skill mismatch happening.

I have to hard disagree on this. Majority of the DCs in my games when im playing killer or survivor are because they are caught first and they cannot handle it. Yesterday a Laurie dced just before the game was over just because she couldnt handle the fact they lost in garden of joy ( one of the most broken maps in this game) and insulted me in the end game. I don't tunnel or camp by the way so there was no excuse other than she just didnt like to lose.
Survivors DC because they cannot handle losing or dont want to go against some killers so they feel entitled to screw over the team and just quit or give up.
The perks that got nerfed needed to be nerfed. They were broken. Endgame Clutch perks shouldnt exists its an endgame. Gloves off lets fight lets not get free escapes from broken perks. This patch gave survivors really good basekit BT, perk to fight camping and lets be honest broken hyperfocus if you add another perk to compliment it.
Matchmaking in soloQ.. sure i get some hiders in my lobby too and im not sure if they are tutorial neas and dwights, but matchmaking sucks for killers too. Yesterday i played wesker first time and i got a deathsquad against me.
Ok then.
End game Killer clutch perks shouldn't exist either then, right? No Way Out, Terminus, Remember Me, NOED, Blood Warden etc.
If 5 gens are completed, why should they be entitled to free kills? See the logic behind that?
For one thing, the escape rate of Solo Q is abysmal. It has got to be below 20%. Maybe a bit higher in a more elite MMR (if it exists) and you get constantly matched with other competent survivors, but for the majority of players, escape rates are low.
The ONLY perks that would offer any aid to Solo Q survivors at end game were Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time. Maybe Deliverence but then you're broken so, not that helpful. And these perks are entirely situational. Decisive was normally used well before end game, ONE time use, and that's IF survivors actually got to end game. You MIGHT get a clutch escape if you were hooked close to an Exit gate. IF your team mates didn't just leave you to die. But often, that doesn't happen.
There are no "free escapes" in Solo Q. There never has been. You're basically surviving against 4 people; The Killer and normally many of your team mates.
I have no doubt some survivors disconnect because of stupid reasons like you outlined. I've seen it myself. Just the majority of the time it's because of camping, tunnelling, or feeling absolutely hopelessly steamrolled (i.e: Nurse. Hoarder PinH with all his souped up add-ons). The stark increase in camping and tunneling post 6.1 is undeniable. Even notorious Killer Mains on this forum admitted to it when they tried Solo (due to really long Killer queues).

No, I’m saying do one of the following. Don’t care which one:

- Wait the 4m
- Give up
Obviously?
I'm not the OP. I never complained about slugging ( I just accept it happens). I was responding to someone who claimed it was always an entirely selfish reason that should be punished when a survivor doesn't pick up a slugged team mate at 2 survivors left.

Aren't willing to do what? What are you on about?
