I was the last survivor once, and a Wraith left me slugged, as he constantly rang his bell for the entire 4 minute bleedout. I'm sure he was hoping I disconnected.

yeah altruism has gone to hell but i refuse to let that stop me from saving someone even if it means i die. all that matters is getting my team out for me.
I'm the same way. I have a "no man left behind" mentality unless it's certain death. But more and more we're punished for that type of thinking. Like how Devs made it so clutch, useful perks deactivate at end game.
-
With every update, DBD devs make altruism detrimental for Solo Q players. They should be encouraging it, because altruism inspires team work. I'd go so far as to say they should give more of a BP bonus for safe end game saves to encourage not being a selfish tw*t. In fact, they should give survivors more BPs in general (hell, Killers too) to cope with their new bloodweb grind.
You know BHVR; "Great news, kids! We're reducing the grind, by making it more!". lol
-
A lot of things are completely screwed up for Solo Q now. I have a friend visiting and we were playing yesterday (just taking turns) and it was just...the worst. The camping and hard tunneling at 5 gens was constant. It seems even more oppressive after the patch, since they nerfed DS, which in it's previous state was superior to OTR. Meanwhile, most of these perks DEACTIVATE in end game, which is the most ridiculous thing in the world. Like, why run a perk only to have it dead when it could come in clutch when the pressure is high? It's stupid. They made gens 10 seconds longer, brought back Pain res + DMS combo, and while survivors can't stack endurance perks, Killers can stack gen regression no problem! Devs in their infinite delusion truly felt Killers would stop camping and tunneling at 5 gens if Solo survivors were handed to them on a platter. Surprise! They camp and tunnel more easily and efficiently. It's a guaranteed 4k against Solo Q.
No single scumbag tactic should have that much power. And due to their craptacular failure of a "skill based matchmaking system", hilariously based off of escapes and kills alone, you have mismatched people all over the place. This system rewards camping and tunneling, and punishes survivor altruism. Truly, if escape is the only way you will get yourself out of low MMR Hell with potato team mates, why would you try for an end game save? Just run out the door.
As someone else in the thread stated, the only reason to queue up as a Solo survivor in this game is the hope you will actually escape. But as soon as a team mate is downed and you see camping or tunneling at 5 gens, you know it's a wash. You can't "just do gennzzzz" anymore. For one, that hooked survivor will mostlikely d/c or suicide. And I don't blame them. We're sick to death of this constant crap. But then the other 3 know the entire match is futile.
I had a game yesterday where a Ghostface was camping the hook stealthed as usual, and as soon as he hook grabbed the first survivor trying to make a save, they both D/C'd. 4 gens left. So he slugs the third one, but I can see this little idiot skulking around, camping the slug. Wow. What a match. All the survivors left with under 8k Blood points.
And that's another insult to injury. Survivors get SO FEW blood points for these matches. And you get 4-5 of them in a row, you can't get any Rift challenges, you can't get any items on the Blood web, it's just a colossal waste of time.
As OP said, out of 11 matches yesterday, my friend and I got 2 "normal" games. Where the Killer wasn't camping at 4-5 gens, where the survivor team seemed appropriately matched to the Killer level and each other. It was better before the patch. Not great, but better.

Deal with it, lol.
(Deal with it while I still see 10 comments a day with -rep tunneler on my stream profile)
It's ridiculous to camp and tunnel at 5 gens. It's the most mindless, cheap tactic against Solo Q players, and an easy 4k. Especially now with longer gen times and gen regression perk meta. The fact that something so easy can decimate a Solo Q match is a game flaw. It's also match ruining for 4 players, not just the one. As soon as someone is camped these days, the hooked player usually suicides. Or else, if they get smacked back down immediately at 4-5 gens they just disconnect, which creates a domino effect of every other survivor just giving up before the match has barely begun. The result is usually multiple d/c's and hook suicides.
Wow. What a fun time, but hey, you got a 4k! You "won". Everyone including Killer gets crap bloodpoints, but you won!. (not you personally, I'm talking in general).
-
The Self care and Iron will nerfs were overkill. Iron Will is never used now, and the other day in a match I actually saw a Meg self-caring in a corner (as I dangled from a hook). It took AGES.
I'm not sure how anyone can thik "Iron Will is in a good spot right now". Ridiculous. Iron Will disabling while exhausted makes it pointless. They either have to make it back to 100% silence but disable while exhausted, or leave it 75% and allow it to persist while exhausted.
As of now it's unusable. Never see it. I suppose that was the point tho. Make most of the really good survivor perks into garbage, introduce a new chapter, and everyone pays for the new decent perks.
-
Yeah I played 5 matches. 4 were camping/tunneling Killers at 5 gens. Last one I was matched with potatoes who were decimated by Blight (they never picked up that he had BBQ. Bloody Hell). I spent all game saving them and bless his gooey heart, he gave me the hatch.
-
Well, we all know it's part of the game, but my main issue is how it can (and usually does) completely decimate Solo Q matches. It shouldn't be as effective as it is. In a Solo Q match, you discover the Killer is just standing by the hook and you get one of two scenarios; your Solo Q team mates all dive bomb and the Killer gets tons of points, but you all die.
Or else, the person being facecamped hook suicides or disconnects. Often that causes the second person the Killer hooks ( and usually camps) to kill themselves or disconnect. Then here you have 2 people left with probably 3-4 gens, absolutely no hope of escaping. Everyone makes shite bloodpoints. Like, how can that be healthy for the game?
At the very least Devs should use one of their 2 brain cells and NOT completely gut anti-tunneling perks or buff camping and tunneling.

If you're talking about tunneling gens, then yeah, it doesn't take skill. But OP made it clear he was refering to killers tunneling survivors, which does take as much skill as any other chase, specially now with built-in BT and OTR. With teammates body-blocking, BT and OTR there's more than enough time for the tunneled survivor to run to the next safe loop, then to the next, and the next, until the killer had to waste a full gen or two assuming the teammates were even slightly efficient and actually did their gens in the meantime. A gen per hook means an unavoidable loss for the killer, btw.
"Tunnelling gens".
What? What is tunnelling a generator? lol I'm playing Bill, and I hook the gen, it falls off and starts rolling away but dammit, I won't let that happen so I follow it incessantly. Thankfully gens don't move very fast or loop so GG EZ!
How do survivors "tunnel" generators? lol

So, this post is basically an inflated way to say "Lulz Git Gud Solo survivors".
Very helpful.

Sadly SoloQ is bad because of survivors and not because of killers.
If people stopped being entitled Dcers and first hook im going to get out of heres types the games would be much better. Also if people would stop hiding and did gens while someone is running the killer the games would be better but it is what it is...
Sure there are those camping and tunneling killers too but mostly im putting the blame on entitled survivors that leave teammates just because they got downed or they dont like something.
I can tell to to take your posts with a grain of salt as soon as you use the term "entitled survivors". No bias there!
I played 3 matches last night (as I posted in this thread) and every Killer camped and tunneled at 4-5 gens. The D/Cing in my matches is usually a reaction to being hooked, and having the Killer camp and tunnel them down immediately. It's out of exasperation.
Are there survivors that D/C for stupid reasons? Like being downed first? Sure, I've seen that too. Everyone has. But in the vast majority of Solo Q games, people D/C because the Killer is playing like a scumbag and people are sick and tired of it. It's a symptom of an underlying problem.
-
It's best to 99 a gate and help your team mates out. However, there are some situations where maybe the Killer is heading right for them and they open and get chased out.
Another thing that happens, unfortunately, is that over the course of the year, the game developers have appeared to be actively discouraging altruism. When it comes to their broken "Skill based matchmaking system", the hope of your MMR rising for Solo Q is to get better team mates. BHVR in their infinite wisdom (/s) made it so only escapes matter to raise your MMR. So you can be useless all game, hide behind a rock and locker hop while your team plays an epic game, you escape and that counts as a win for you. Your team mates who played far better and got you out but died would see their MMR go down, granting them worse team mates.
Sometimes people are just selfish and want to get their daily or tome challenge done.
Thirdly, for whatever reason, BHVR nerfed a lot of "second chance perks", as well as deactivating them after the fifth gen has been powered. People who would go for a high risk endgame save, or run out to help a team mate if only two were left, are less inclined to try since the perks that might help them to have a chance to escape too are useless.

That’s literally not a legitimate reason, and the picture literally explains so. It doesn’t matter. You are expected to attempt to repair gens. Hiding and doing absolutely nothing to progress is against the rules. You and them both actively decided to refuse to play and thus keep the game hostage. Whether you’d be punished by BHVR? Depends on circumstances. But against rules ≠ will be punished every time or to the same extent.
Trying to repair and getting chased off is different from what you and them did, which is taking the game hostage because both of you refused to play at all. You and them refusing to play and keeping the game held hostage are literally the exact kinds of problems this post is addressing.
Sir, you can't dictate; "Survivors MUST do gens at all times so I can easily find them. Even at the end game when they have no idea what the other is doing!". They already get crows if they stay on one spot too long, so they are moving around the map.
I personally hate the sweat Killers that slug the second last survivor and camp the slug for the entire 4 minutes. Can I force them to go away from the slug at that point and check generators? Not really.
There are info perks for Killers. Like Darkness Revealed. Just open a locker and see survivors auras if they're near a locker (and a lot of times they are).
Edit: Re-reading, I see what the core issue is. I personally haven't experienced that much (I get bored and want to be found). How common does this occur?

Not every killer camps and tunnel. You're putting all killers under an umbrella. Not EVERY killer hard tunnels someone out of the game. That's a lie and you know it but you say it because you want this conversation to go into your favor.
Killers are running slowdowns yeah but they are different ones and many are using perks that are for chasing focus rather than gen defense. Okay so some will stack on 4 gen defense perks so what? What's so different from prepatch? You faced it before so face it some more!
The game isn't in a worse state it's in a different state.
Not all Killers camp and tunnel, but since the patch, it's become pretty pervasive, at least in my matches. Today I logged in and played 3 matches. Every match the Killer camped and hard tunneled at 5 gens. I just said; "Screw this" and turned it off. The last match I had a Spirit tunnel me through OTR (which is not that great despite the accolades).
With buffing Killer basekit, making everything they do faster, gutting anti-tunneling perks like DS, making gens longer while buffing gen regression perks (aside from pop and ruin), camping and tunneling have never been so easy. The "just do gens and get out" never worked well for Solo Q (lack of communication and info), but now with gen regression perks that stack, it's impossible even if everyone does try.
I'm glad your Solo Q experience is enjoyable, but for me, it's been just misery. I'm tired of leaving a match with crap bloodpoints because the Killer tunnels a person out immediately, which then often leads to disconnects. I also think the matchmaking system is absolutely broken, not that it ever worked in the first place. It's demoralizing to load into match after match, seeing the same scumbag tactics. We shouldn't have to sift through like 5-6 matches of frustration to get a single match where the Killer actually plays normally.

You mean hardcore survivor, where he teams up with Ayrun, JRM and Dowsee?
Must be it. I watched a lot of that on JRM's Twitch.
4-man SWF, of course they had headsets and comms. They all created brand new accounts, so versed absolute Baby Killers with no experience for a large number of games until their win rate moved them up in MMR where the games got more challenging.
-
I logged on tonight and queued up for Solo Q.
First match, camping Huntress. First survivor just D/C'd on the hook. I don't blame them. The Huntress could throw axes through walls (idk if that's her city bus sized hit box or what). All she would do is hook someone, stand somewhere far enough away but throw an axe at the unhooker. No gens were done.
Second match, Nemesis. This dude was more like face camping on Lery's. The team tried to make an unhook but he tunneled the same survivor down. And another survivor disconnected. I ran him for awhile but since I was the second last survivor and the other was injured he had nothing but time to chase me and eventually I ran out of pallets. 2 gens were done, I did them both.
Third match Spirit; I was the first one caught. She proxy camped and tunneled me right through OTR (which I still say is not anywhere near as good as old DS) at 5 generators. I just killed myself on the hook at that point as much as that's frowned upon in the forums. It gets to the point where you just can't do it anymore. I'm sick to death of wasting my time, queueing up for matches and earning next to no blood points because of these "LeGitImate Str4tageeS". It's just so pervasive now. And it adds insult to injury that they made the problem WORSE and gutted a perfectly balanced, effective anti-tunneling perk (Decisive).
Most of my games since the patch are like this. I just gave up and turned it off. Why bother? I see people on this forum "I have a 70% escape rate playing Solo Q !". Another said "I escaped 30 times in a row playing Solo!".
I don't understand why these people are having such a vastly different experience than my complete crap experience.
-
@Marigoria said:
Isn't it weird how some people on here claim to have a 70% escape rate in solo q? I wish they'd show us their games.
A forumer on here boasted to have escaped 30 Solo queue matches in a row after the patch dropped when Solo queue was made into total Clown world lol.
I think Ayrun's escape streak is something like 34 in a row (pre-patch). Apparently we're schmoozing with God Tier solo survivors..../s
-
I'm glad some people are enjoying it. As for me in Solo Q, it's just aggravation at this point. I usually play Solo, but every once in awhile when our schedules allow it, my friend from the next province plays with me (no comms tho). She tried it a few times after this patch and stopped after 5 matches. She doesn't want to play anymore. And we're casual players who never expect to escape a lot. Just sometimes. The problem is with so much unbashed camping and tunneling off the hook at 4-5 gens. I admit it's really irritating that these "strategies" are so thoroughly effective at decimating a Solo Q team, and they were essentially buffed. Regardless of survivor D/C's Killers will always slug for the 4k now. And yes, that's their choice, but it just makes for a miserable match when 4 gens are up and there's no hope. I think that's what change for me in this patch, I never have any hope that I'll actually escape unless it's the hatch. On top of it, I found fun in altruism. And the developers seems to discouraging team work in Solo Q with every change, making it so altruism is detrimental most of the time, so players are becoming way more selfish.
I'm trapped in low MMR hell, and I can't seem to get out because I'm matched with teammates that don't even know the basics of how all the Killers work. Then the Killers are usually, obviously much more skilled than the survivors running 3 top tier gen regression perks and I'm with a Meg with 3 yellow perks. And all it takes to get you to low MMR vortex is a string of facecampers/tunnelers/team mates D/Cing.
At this point it's more enjoyable for me to watch streamers play DBD than actually play it myself. Not the sweatlord kind, the casual ones who have fun.
-
Survivor; I play Bill about 70% of the time. Cheryl would be next.
Killer; Haven't played Killer for quite some time, but Spirit.
-
No.
If they made D/Cing go to 30 mins on the second time (as an example), the queue times would get legendary and the playerbase would dwindle. People disconnecting doesn't come out of nowhere. Of course being a Solo Q player, I've seen a team mate disconnect just because they were the first one downed. That's ridiculous, but also pretty rare in my experience. Most of the d/c's come from Killers being arses. Literally no one likes to be facecamped, camped or tunneled right off the hook at the start of the match. That's where the vast majority of D/C's come from. Or else, due to bad manners (like being camped on your first hook at 5 gens and the Killer is hitting you on the hook. Or the tired, meme Bubba camping in the basement nodding.).
Once I was slugged as the last survivor, the Wraith carried me to the hatch pretending to give it to me, slammed it my face, carried me to the door and hit it implying for me to open it. I wouldn't because he was a d*ck. He'd camped everyone else. And he just stood there ringing his bell, not downing me. He would have had me trapped in the game until I opened the gate. I had no choice, so of course, he lets me get to just before it's opened, then grabs me, leaves me slugged and rings his bell constantly for the entire 4 minute bleed out.
I SHOULD have disconnected. And next time something like that happens to me, I will. I have a difficult time wrapping my head around the concept that a survivor has to endure the unbridled ego of a 15 year old basement dweller or be punished severely. So until Devs do something about the miserable state of Solo Q, and addresses the potential for Killers to do crap like that (and it happens quite a bit), the D/C penalty should stay where it is.
-
OTR is so overrated. Imo, old DS was a far better anti-tunnel perk. With a 5 second stun, the Killer had to stop and lost visual a lot.
I tried running OTR when the patch dropped and it was crap. Every high mobility Killer could easily tunnel right through their initial hit. Especially since hit recovery is faster. As well, they usually hit right off the hook anyways where we have the craptacular 5 second endurance, which immediately cancels out OTR endurance. Killers can stack gen regression perks, but survivors can't stack endurance. And then to have it deactivate at end game? Laughable. Sure, let's bring a perk that we can't use during crunch time when it would really make a difference.
New DS is useless. 3 seconds is like lightly slapping the Killer in the face, you can barely get any distance. I don't play much since the patch because Solo Q is misery now and the Devs have no desire to change it, but if I feel like punishing myself for 30 mins and try, I run Empathy, BT (to give a teammate a shot at endgame), a healing perk and Overcome.
-
New Map: Weight Crafters Fat Camp.
...you know how survivors often have to sneak away and hide behind a tree? Don't think that would work with an obese survivor.
-
After BHVR gutted nearly every decent survivor perk, and messed with perfectly fine perks (like Botany Knowledge) giving them downsides or penalty's for using them, AND increasing gen speeds, buffing a lot of gen regression killer perks, and making it almost impossible Solo Q's to even get to end game, you want more survivor nerfs?
I think we should all load into the matched slugged. Killers can leisurely pick us up and hook us. If someone runs Unbreakabill? There will be forum threads calling it the OP Meta.

Why are you looking for anyone when you need second protection hit to activate it anyway?
Killers gonna chase you or the one you just saved, I doubt you have to get away in that situation.
"The one you just saved", You mean unhooked? Which is a conspicuous action that deactivates MoM endurance? Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean. Can you describe a scenario where MoM could be be useful?

Yes it is easier to activate it but you can't save it for later anymore, that's my problem with the change. You either have to go for the hit after activating or let it deactivate.
Yeah you're basically stuck running around, looking for whoever is being chased and be like; "I'm coming! I'll take that hit! Hey.. hey wait up! I have MoM! Oh crap the Killer can see me coming and knows exactly why...I'll still try tho!".
Meanwhile, gens take 5 years to complete and this person is running around, not doing them.

Uhh so what? By the time you get it you have already taken a second protection hit. So the killer is going to be within that 16m, and is either going to hit you again or you just bodyblock them until they do.
I'm thinking more a situation where your teammate is getting tunneled into the floor and now you can go bodyblock 3 (!!) hits for them if you had a protection hit earlier in the game
Guess we'll see how it plays out. Again, I don't really care about them changing MoM, I've never used it, and it's a pretty obscure perk I've only seen streamers "try out". And they usually make their entire match about getting use out of it.
I think my greater point was, of all the perks, and all the issues, feedback, they decide to make a change no one asked for, that probably won't really have an impact on most players. It's just such an obscure perk and that's what they choose to focus on for a hotfix. It's strange.
-
I run it because it's literally the only thing the Devs haven't destroyed that can truly help team mates in the end game.

Uhhh, pretty sure it's a buff. You go take a protection hit at some point during the game, go heal. Then you go take another protection hit, and then you have endurance and the killer won't know about it until they hit you again? Seems good to me, especially if after the second hit you then jam your character model in their way and force them to hit you
Dude, they made it so when MoM activates, the Killer sees the survivors aura unless that survivor is within 16m (or something). You also LOSE the MoM Endurance if you do *any conspicuous action*. Touch a gen. Touch a totem. Heal.
Tell me how that's a buff, and tell me how it's useful in anyway? Like, I have never personally used the perk. So it's not a problem for me. I'm just flabbergasted that they zeroed in on this rare, already kinda crappy and unused perk and crappified to oblivion. There's a hundred other productive things they could have done. Like revert DS to a 5 second stun.
-
BHVR wanted to "Shake up the Meta" by rendering all decent survivor perks essentially useless. This was to encourage us to use other perks- that they don't bother to make that great.
MoM is a niche, rarely used perk that only activated under very specific conditions and now they've nerfed the only good, possible use it could have.
Like seriously. It activates and then the Killer knows exactly where the survivor is unless you're right up their arse, and knows that survivor can't do anything to progress the game. It's inconcievable to me how a bunch of grown adults can find the most bizarre ways possible to make a perk so entirely stupid, so unusable that it's kind of more detrimental than it is helpful- AND they get paid for it.

Yeah I also think people are over reacting a bit. There are less cheaters than some people think there are. I mean I long ago I was called a cheater at least 3 times in 5 games for finding them too easilly or something. Sure there are cheaters here and there, but probably less than some claim to be. I even saw a few people claiming that they see cheaters in every match! :)) I honestly didn't see one now for at least 25
I've seen a few more lately than usual. I made a thread about a wave of Sadako cheaters (and by wave, I mean I saw 3 over the span of a few days). And they were obvious; flying, one had No Way Out that lasted almost 3 minutes. Stuff like that.
But the vast majority of people aren't going to go; "This patch sucks. Whelp, time to cheat!". lol

Sadly, I agree. It has been ruining my killer and survivor games. To be fair, killers are not making it any better. A lot of these clowns are 100% taking advantage of the baby rage. The fact that he even attempted it was low-key more disgusting than any survivor behavior I have seen, however. Especially when you consider I was being sandbagged by this Meg who unhooked me in front of him twice and didn't take aggro.
Yep. This has happened to me a lot too.
Last night I had two survivors disconnect one after the other. I had no idea why because I was working on a gen on the other side of the map.
It was a Plague, and the Plague slugged the second last survivor. I'm like..."FFS. Really? We're going into sweat mode after two people disconnected?". I got the dude up again, and back comes the Killers tunneling me around until she slugs me. Leaves me on the ground. I just happened to have Unbreakabill (never use it but I was playing around). I get myself up- Killer slugs the other survivor again.
4 gens up. And then when the Killer finally slugged us both, didn't hook! Just sat there puking on me until I bled out. Absolute crap points all around. Just a waste of time.
I'm sure the usual suspects on this forum would find a way to make it survivors fault "Well U JuSt Can'T PrESS UR Preshuz E anymOAr!!111".

It made it harder to tunnel if you can't count to 5, or if you were Plague/Pyramid Head or maybe Oni camping a hook with the intent of double downing both the rescuer and unhooked player. Otherwise, tunneling is exactly the same, and the change is that it's easier in endgame. The basekit BT is negligible when it comes to the majority of tunnels and the survivor is still slower than the killer, so it's not like they're making distance.
The 5 seconds isn't even enough to get up the basement stairs. And with Buffs to reduce swing time (and running perks that reduce it more), and the nerf of the distance a survivor gets after being hit, the 5 sec BT, is almost entirely useless.

BHVR lying? Shocking lol.

Historically if I remember right escape rates go up about 2-3% per person in a swf. So if you figure the average swf size is about 2.5 or so then you’re looking at around a 6% difference between solo and swf typically.
I heard it was more like %15+ . Where did you get the 2-3% rate? I thought Devs kept those stats under lock and key most likely because they know the difference is significant.

It's a game where YOU are the protagonist, because it's first person. Every character in the game is talking to YOU.
It's like the type of games where they ask "Create your name".
My name is: "CabbageHead"
Then in a first person POV, every character on screen goes; "Hey Cabbage Head! Have you heard about the haunted house in the forest?".

DS was totally fine. It's just like how OTR deactivates at endgame. Why run a perk that you can't use when the game is at it's peak?
Basically Devs think survivors should just be happy to get to endgame then we should all collectively hook ourselves. DS was never a "free escape". I have had so many Killers pre-patch tunnel me through old Borrowed Time, and through Decisive Strike. If they could do that, they could do it at end game. And they often did.
The only time it would grant an escape is if the person was hooked close to an exit gate, and IF a team mate actually unhooked you ( in Solo Q LOL. They usually run out and save themselves), and if that survivor also runs BT (rare). Which doesn't happen a lot.

Killers I hate going against:
Nurse (a given for a lot of Solos)
Trickster (almost guaranteed camping and bad manners)
Plague post-patch (freaking regression perks. Thana- miserable experience)
Pinhead: Power is absolutely shite for Solo Q. And for some reason every Pinhead I face is running the full sweat add-ons.
Killers thet I eye roll at:
Legion: Prepare for a match that lasts at least 30 mins now. Boring, annoying etc.
Wraith: I argue Wraiths camp more than Bubbas.
Killers I like facing:
Pyramid Head: Just like him entirely. Don't care if I lose to him.
Demo: Love watching Stompy McStompin' Pants
Myers: He genuinely gets a few jumpscares out of me lol.
The rest are whatever.

The average kill rate since the patch went up 12 days ago is about 7% higher than it was prepatch on the aggregate site I'm following (it was about 49% pre-patch and I'm estimating it's been 56% post-patch). So the average kill rate definitely isn't 75% or whatever.
Does this site track where all the extra Kills, and the kills in general are coming from?
Because I highly doubt they're coming from SWF's. I think the majority of kills come from Solo Q, which means Solo Q (as always) has a disporportionately lower survival rate that was just exacerbated by all the Killer buffs in the patch. I don't see too many 4 man SWF's complaining.
So if the pool of survivors who already had the lowest % of escape, now has an even lower rate of escape, while the other pool's escape rate only dropped by a bit, there's a problem. An overall stat is meaningless unless you analyze where the stat is coming from and why.

I realized this the other day when I was running For The People. I was looking at what other perks could possibly make my games less miserable, lingered over Lucky Break- oh. Well look at that. FTP would be a full heal to a team mate but does shite for LB.
Another perk Devs totally thought through.

That would be way too oppressive for Solo Q players on Killers that teleport or have high mobility. The stand off to open the gates could last ages. All the Killers would have to do is go into slug mode or continuously injure/chase survivors away. It could go on forever.
I also suspect this is actually to prevent 99'ing the gates. Which is sometimes the only option to attempt end game saves. Which would make Solo Q suffer more as well, since altruism, which is almost already dead, would become zero. And loads of Killers get more kills/hooks when teams attempt these end game saves.

Why did you choose Liverpool in this scenario?
No particular reason. But my mother watches Coronation Street and I probably heard it from there!

What I don't understand is that when they introduced the SBMM, they said their goals were to make things fair- aiming for 50% kill/escape rate. And your mmr rises or falls according to that.
But now they're saying "We want higher Kill rates!". And let's face it, the majority of that higher kill rate percentage will be on Solo Q players.
So what are they going for here? It's a bit of a contradiction.

Exactly! That's the issue though the patch isnt to blame.
The devs just really need to sort out camping and tunneling and help out solo Q a little (though I feel a better SBMM would be best)
I just dont like how everyone is blaming the patch when the core issues (tunneling and camping) can be addressed separately.
I think also, we're just losing faith, yanno? Like the SBMM has been terrible. Basing it on Kills and escapes just a horrible decision and bad for game health all around (at least on the survivor side). It completely discourages altruism. In fact, everything they've done this year seems to encourage Solo Q survivors to be selfish. And that leads to frustration. So you see the post-match scoreboard and I see I clearly have double the BPs than the 2 survivors who escaped, and who left me to die on my first hook. So the survivors doing the most in the match, are punished. The people who hide and are generally unhelpful? Rewarded. But with them nerfing and deactivating so many things in end game, is the save worth trying for? I think they should be adding things to encourage intelligent altruism rather than the opposite. It's way healthier for Solo's to have at least a bit of hope. And the SBMM has seemingly gotten worse since the patch (dunno why tho).
In the scant few games I'm not being camped, slugged, tunneled, or having lemmings for team mates (d/c'ing or suiciding), this is typical (I got the hatch thank God lol) :
There's a distinct gap there.
They have NEVER addressed camping. They posture that they're changing camping/tunneling and they actually BUFFED them. They were told clearly on the PTB that it was bad. Released it anyways.
..and nerfed anti-tunneling perks saying "5 second BT basekit! Tunneling solved! :)". Like, I just don't have faith they will ever do anything about these issues, and the patch added insult to injury basically.
