Two things.
1. It's clearly too strong, doesn't matter if its situational or not theres a bunch of killer stuff that is situational and not this strong. Remember this can happen multiple times a trial as theres multiple survivors.
2. This is just a big F you to people that want to try play in a more fun/fair way for the survivors. It punishes you for not tunneling, as soon as the perk is out any time I play killer I'll just tunnel after the second hook. Screw dealing with double exhaustion because I played nice, theres enough BS to deal with as is.
-
Your post lost all meaning when you said all console players the worst.
Like get off your pc master race high horse and stop insulting people. I have seen people on all platforms play well, bad, camp etc. So dont try single people out because they didnt buy a massively expensive system and just went with what's best for them.
Camping can suck, especially when it's at 5 gens (even though that means the person who did the chase did awful) but I get it's not fun. But at certain situations camping is legit a strat to push for the win, the game isnt balanced for hooks it's done for kills.
In a perfect world I'd love camping and tunneling not to exist for survivors or for it to be needed to win as killer, but that's never going to happen with how balance and certain actions push games
-
I mean people are obviously going to prefer the one where you could wiggle faster... it's stronger.
The new one isnt too bad, just not giving a free 1 second shorter carry time like before.
I still prefer the old old one where I didnt have to look at the screen and just had to tap/circle a joy stick. Made it easier to have a drink or something while being carried etc.

How is her face similar to Tricksters? May I see that source?
you should be able to find a video on YouTube, not saying it's the same model but they are very similar.
I would tag the reddit post showing it but BHVR took it down, if you still cant find it I'll get a video for you but its gone 1am and I'm off bed lol.
But like I said they're just similar, I dont think it's a recycling I just mean this one makes far more sense than other tinfoil hat theories people do haha
-
I mean I tried making a post for it awhile back > https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/333463/community-help-me-creating-a-quality-of-life-list#latest
But a dev moved it to feedback basically instantly so it didnt get much traction and most users stay on the general over the feedback section... kinda pain really

Every killer is a genenal take of some kind of horror trope. This conspiracy about the new chapter is so tired.
It's not that far fetched when you see how similar her face is to tricksters (reuse model) or the weird mori where the survivors stands there looking around as if they cant see the killer just to be impaled from behind by a claw hand.
Not saying it's TRUE with that and the whole inspiration look I can personally see it and the community have made far bigger leaps before lol. At least this one has similar parts that can make sense

By all means man if you enjoy her, go for it. I just find her boring. Throw a crow down, smart survivors just hold W to the next loop. Rinse and repeat. Get swarmed cross map? Hop in and out of locker.
She just isn’t my type of killer. Any killer that encourages holding W, I’m not about it.
Sounds like you're setting up at loops, worst way to play her imo. Best and fun way is to just constantly shoot crows in chase and not setup at a loop.
The jumping in a locker thing is annoying though I agree lol

I've never understood the whole artist is boring stuff, she's one of my mains and getting across the map crow snipes is one of the most satisfying things in the game for me.
Agreed. Always happy to play her if I need to play killer. Best thing is building cant even stop your snipes lol
-
Gonna have to hard disagree there slightly.
You do need the addons so they last longer but when you have that on artist is a complete beast of a killer with the right build.
I wish I had a youtube channel to show you, I'm a survivor main of recent but if you seen my artist gameplay youd think I'm a main/pro.
She is dependent on addons and perks like most killers though, but she is a great killer and you're probably not using the right addons or firing to many crows putting you in cooldown

the basically pointless power unless you can a 3gen with is boring af to do as killer especially from the get go
Absolutely. I've seen survivors give up and beg for the hook rather than deal with a 3-gen situation. I've also seen killers give up defending a 3-gen and go AFK because they just got so damn bored with it. Both of those are bad, you don't want either side bored out of their skull in your game. And you certainly don't want to design killers that are built for pretty much that exact playstyle and not much else.
It depends how the 3gen happens, if me and my team mess up and 3gen ourselves then that's on us, though I dont ever condone giving up but maybe that just me. Try till you win/lose imo.
But a killer doing a 3gen from the get go is boring because it stops all the fun and chases that can go on in the trial. But yeah terrible design of a power encouraging a playstyle neither side enjoys.
Like twins, while I'm a survivor main of recent years twins always put me off playing them because to play at a high level you had to slug often and that's not me when I play killer, if they changed it so slugging wasnt as needed by simply making Charlotte gain haste after downing someone with victor at least its abit more viable to go pick them up sorta thing.
Fun is the selling point for both roles, the devs often overlook this on a few killers and now they made a killer which is unfun for both constantly, devs are odd that way lol

Its 1 vs 4.
Asymmetrical game, by definition the game can't ever be balanced.
It's the only game in the genre, the only big one is Identity V, and that game is even more survivor sided than dbd.
I know what you want, you ask that a good killer to get 50% chance to win vs a perfect 4 man SWF on comms.
What you don't realize, there is only about 1-4% of survivor playerbase fits the description.
While to master the killer is so much easier, because you don't need teamplay, you don't to rely on others, if you are skilled get huge over 96-99% of teams, sure you are autolose against the perfect survivor teams but against everything else, you have advantage.
Also high MMR killer outnumbering the high MMR survivor teams, because once again to be good at survivor you need 4 perfect survivor player, and work as team.
For a killer only 1 player enough so can do strategy tactic lot easier
Nice you result to strawman and twisting words to try discredit what I'm actually saying. Damn why not just do that from the start so I know not to waste my time on someone who does double standards and then strawman arguments because they cant actually defend the points I raise.
Yes it's a 4v1, yes I believe survivors have the advantage because I take into consideration of everything in the game and when people actually learn to loop and do gens they're incredibly strong verse alot of the roster.
Difference between us is I dont treat one role differently to the other, either both roles are balanced for casuals or they both arent. You cant pick and choose, I just believe matchmaking and DCs is the biggest issue for solo Q not the actual balance. I think you should balance for a team of survivors that do gens and understand looping, doesnt have to be amazing loopers but they should do both.
Making survivors who cant loop or do gens efficiently win is stupid as anytime they do the games massively imbalanced.
It's a 1v4, the 4 should try work together to win. Should balance both roles the same for people that have a game understanding. Not high level but a decent level.

BHVR is a business. They want to release something the majority of people like so they make money. It doesn't matter how strong The Twins are, I've hardly seen them at all from day one of their release. They're not popular to play as, which means BHVR probably hasn't made a lot of money off of them between both buying the chapter and cosmetics. Notice how few cosmetics The Twins have ever gotten.
The "earth is flat" analogy doesn't apply here. If the majority of people believed the earth is flat, and a company was trying to sell a product that shows a picture of the earth, they'd show a picture of a flat earth to sell more product. This isn't really about the majority being right or wrong, it's about the majority being the ones determining BHVR's profits.
Tbf it would help if they stopped nerfing them because of some 0.01% twins player was doing well while most other players weren't... like they legit nerfed a killer for the smallest group of players which is stupid.
That mixed with the extra nerfs that made them feel clunky to play is going to push alot of people off them, theres plenty of little changes they can do without a full rework to make twins more fun to play but I cant say that for the new chapter, only people at a low level or people that play for thirst will enjoy her tbh.
It's a shame, I was hyped to have a female mad scientist/cyborg then seen the base cosmetic and power, new cosmetics will be dope I'm sure but I cant get over the basically pointless power unless you can a 3gen with is boring af to do as killer especially from the get go

I just wanna say, this chapter IS NOT RUSHED. stop crying that it isn’t some robot. This chapter definitely has flaws yes. But it feels like the lot of you are just crying over such small stuff.
- this killer was not meant to be predator, BHVR is not gonna do heavy work on a license that they haven’t even fully secured, even if they were working on a predator chapter and it was pulled, it wouldn’t have been at the stage where this chapter would have to get completely rushed. If a license really got pulled that late, the license holders would get their own legal problems.
- the power is not rushed, Ya’ll just complaining it’s weak. The power isn’t even “badly designed”. A bad power design is something like pig, buffing her is extremely hard cause, even small changes can make her very strong. Meanwhile, skull merchant, making small changes for her wouldn’t immediately break her. ALSO, you guys are saying this is rushed but, the power works very well and fluid, weak yes, but not rushed.
- her lore, yes, I agree it’s mediocre, if not bad. I like what they tried with all the manga stuff, but it’s way too simple and doesn’t explore her getting into robotics and building and all that stuff (unless, she meant to be a literal capitalist villain and she doesn’t even build her own stuff, but that would go against the map and trailer so idk).
- her Mori, yeah that’s complete trash no excuse there lol.
- the lack of new map: BHVR LEGIT STATED IN THE ANNIVERSARY BROADCAST THAT WERE ONLY GONNA BE 2 NEW MAPS WHY THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN SURPRISED? not to mention, maps take a while to build from scratch, and, shelter woods gets updated + 2 maps are getting reworked, so there’s still something in that department.
finally, just wanted to mention this chapter has 2 survivors and one of the longer length CGI trailers. I get you may not like “sexy girl”, but the fact people think this whole chapter is horny bait is so sad.
nobody complained about Vittorio being the most BLATANT case of horny bait, but as soon as this one female character who isn’t even blatantly advertised as being sexy (COUGH COUGH Vittorio). I don’t dislike Vittorio either, but there’s some MASSIVE hypocrisy going around in the community right now.
please stop complaining because the killer’s visual design isn’t in your liking, not every character design you will like.
It was either rushed or the devs really do lack alot of understanding in their own game.
Personally I'll go with lack of understanding tbh, it's a party game, it's not a party game, balance for casual survivors but balance for high level killers, know big maps are an issue but keep making them etc. Honestly its endless how back and fourth they are on everything
The chapter sucks though, simple as.
Weakest killer, pointless power, the killer isnt as interesting as it could be by simple changes (why not make the mask/weapon actually part of their body like a cyborg instead of just stuck on. I'm skipping the killer, if I was Brazilian I'd be disappointed this is the Brazilian killer tbh.

Last time the devs released stats, even at low mmr, the nurse had over 50% killrate.
The stats which show actually nothing and even the devs tell you not to use them as such and they are meant for abit of fun.
Thankyou for clearing that up for me, you are yet another person doing double standards. Most nurses struggle hence why she has the lowest kill rates of all the killers but you're saying it's okay to keep buffing survivors (who have the ability to be way stronger than majority of the roster and all if the matchmaking works) because most are bad but not buff nurse for the bad nurses which is the majority.
Double standards, made up stats and use the stats devs share and warn people not to draw conclusions from but just for fun. Conversations over for me, you cant talk to people who tick those boxes sorry but either treat both roles equally or your opinion means far far less as you're being one sided.

Because you must balance for the majority, just like in RL.
You have a business, have 5 consumer, and 4 wants a certain thing, you would be crazy to not fulfill the majority wishes. If you cater to only 1, 80% of your consumers leaving.
But again I don't mind killer buff, but then I better hope that others won't mind playing victims (survivors)with 0 control over the game
Majority of nurses are bad so we buff nurse? Or are you being double standards for one side...
-
Trapper. Dont think hes good but the fact it's a 50/50 if theres a trap and you cant do anything is meh. Any other killer I feel I have more interactive and input on how a chase goes so when its trapper I just follow him and ruin his power, they hate it but it's the only counter imo.
Any other killer dont mind at all, can be any addons as well but like you OP repeats are annoying when its 4+a day. When mmr got first added and it was just nurse and blight... jeez that was boring, much better now though
-
I dont mind seeing the knight, dont tend to really see him much tbh and hes not that strong and you can kinda abuse the dumb AI.
Dont forget the AI has to run to the spot you was standing at when they first spotted you, this means you can just run straight through them at the start which can be huge at certain tiles.
I also dont get the hate on the hold w, its different. Like sure it's not the most intense thing but you are interacting with the killer and countering them. If every killer was hold W then sure boring but they arent, most power have different counter play.
My most hated killer is trapper though, hes not strong but it's a killer you need a team verse simply because you cant counter his power alone and it's a 50/50 if you can even use a loop (hence why I just follow trapper and disarm every trap and loop him as a basic m1)

I don't play survivor anymore, because the original design is changed the game was supposed to be 1vs1vs1vs1 VS 1. But now it's extremely team oriented and you have 0 control as survivor if even 1 your teammates is bad. The survivor role is meant to be played in 4 man SWF on comms, with 5k+ hours on each survivor player, then its fun.
So as a killer main I wouldn't mind if the killer role could destroy the 4 SWF on comms, but I am concerned about the game longevity if they would buff the killer even more.
Game has never been a 1v1v1v1 V1. That's stupid dev talk, if that really was the chase you would be judged on chase alone for mmr but that isnt the case.
In a 1v1 the killer is meant to win, it's a 4v1 period. Play as a team to win as a team, you shouldn't win if your team is bad.
If you balance so you can win 2v1 or 3v1 then that makes any time it's a 4v1 way more imbalanced. And let's say we do balance for bad survivors you then have to balance for bad killers too! You cant do double standards but that's not the case at all, nurse got nerfed because she can be strong in the right hands but most nurse players are bad and casual hence her win rate is low, just like survivor its really strong in some hands but that dont mean buff it for the others or so many killers have to be buffed for casual.
I'm sick of double standards of balance for bad survivors but balance for really good killers it's stupid.

Yeah I assumed that was the case with the Demo example. But the person I replied to made the claim that other people doing the streaks are deranking
Like I said to the other person both sides go on streaks, but saying people are doing 300-500 is a lie like the demo example.
I'm fully aware people can do streaks but it's not anywhere near as high as they claim and both sides can/do streaks.
And most killer streaks are on nurse (before nerf) and blight using their strongest stuff being played by a massive 0.1% player and even then they arent versing people their skill because the matchmaking isnt good.
My point is its survivor sided because of the ability they have to be the strongest role especially against half the roster. Solo Q can just suck because people give up/DC as well as the matchmaking being bad but that doesnt mean the games imbalanced.
As for streamers it depends on the streamer, I could list streamers that do solo Q streaks but the issue is their stream is kinda of a lie, they're an experienced player versing way lower skill level and I dont think that's fair to use even to back my point as its misleading but this sorta of thing is on both sides and alot of people struggle understanding what skill level people are at
-
@Piruluk said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3347958#Comment_3347958
So right now:
Bad killer vs 4 Bad survivor = Bad killer win
Bad killer vs 1 good survivor + 3 bad survivor = Bad killer win
Bad killer vs 2 good survivor + 2 bad survivor = Bad killer win
Bad killer vs 3 good survivors + 1 bad survivor = Bad killer win
Good killer vs 4 good survivors = Survivors win
I think this is extremely killer sided
Nice made up stats there, bad killers dont win good survivors period. I can loop bad killers for a long time which basically guarantees the win if my team does the gens because of the time they waste on me.
The fact you even think it's as simple as bad killers always win shows your lack of understanding, there is far more than just that to impact the matches.
I dont understand the double standards, bad survivors should win because most survivors are bad... most nurses are bad does that mean buff her? Oh wait she got nerfed! Because she has potential to be strong, survivors also have the potential to be stupidly strong it's why even in comp nurses struggle to get a draw.
Stop being one sided and treat both equally. The game has and always will be killer sided low mmr, survivor higher mmr.
We need to stop acting like survivors dont have the tools to be the power role, it's on them if they cant put it to use. It's not like survivor is even hard or complex to do either.
When god pallets, safe pallets, huge maps exist its not close to survivor sided. Take responsibility for being bad or understand the mistakes you and your team are making.
If the game was equally balanced a good killer and good survivors wouldn't be "survivors win" like you said. And balancing around bad survivors is both dumb and double standards.
-
@th3syst3m said:

Again the game is survivor sided because you say so, because survivors are bad and killers aren't? Bad killers have a lot more tools to use compared to bad survivors. There is also plenty of proof of legit win streaks, the numbers aren't "made up" I'm not going to do research for you. You just disregard anything you don't want to hear and rely on your own personal opinion while also being passive aggressive.
No just when people claim the do streaks they have cheated it by deranking. The 300 win streak demo is a great example of this and like I said both sides go on win streaks.
Survivors have way more in their control to a bad killer, you legit have god pallets in the game which can render alot of the roster useless until they break it. The game is survivor sided because they have the ability to go to that level, look at comp that shows its survivor sided. While it doesnt need to be balanced for the very top it should be balanced for people that can play not people that cant.

Okay this is I agree with, the game would be survivor sided, if the Matchmaking would work as it should.
Because if all of the 4 survivor is good, then the game is very survivor sided.
However in practice, most of survivors are bad, or mediocre, only a small fraction of them are good. And add the fact that the MM is very bad, and 1 bad survivor can doom the survivor team.
So if this the case I do agree, the major power in SWF, that the 4 good player can be 100%, and if thats the case, then the game is very survivor sided.
The problem is cant balance around that because of the majority so bad, and they would just stop playing.
So yeah at high level killer has to suffer, no other way
The thing is if you balance for 3okay survivors and 1 bad survivors that is basically useless to be the balance point any time you get 4okay survivors you will stomp the killer and that's just not fair.
Yes it sucks that you can get terrible teammates, trust me I know. I'm a survivor main and I have ALOT of angry posts about useless teammates and matchmaking. Hell on post is about me doing a stupid long chase and not a single gen popping.
But even with that I know as long as I get teammates actually doing gens and trying to do chases it's a great game because they dont have to be perfect.
I dont agree on good players being so few, theres definitely alot of good players out there but the biggest issue is the matchmaking and it always has been.
If they changed the SBMM to chases and objective alone then itd be far better than the current one. The main reason I lose is because 1 or more of my team arent on gens majority of the game and when we balance so I can won those games it will die.
Killer isnt the main reason you lose, it's your team and I feel more people need to understand that and encourage people to get better over nerfing more stuff so even less people try to get better and learn
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Struggling as a solo has to be a skill issue. I've been playing solo for years now and there is nothing in-game as far as mechanics that is beyond the ability to overcome.
Because solo Q is all about your team and matchmaking which people dont get.
They see "we lost" but not why they lost, and some will see they die while others escape but ignore the ones Escaping.
The biggest issue with solo Q is getting badly matched teams who are way below your level (go down stupid fast and dont do gens) or people DC.
Even with the new HUD I dont think people pay attention to how little people are on gens or how fast people go down...
-
@Piruluk said:

But here is the thing, about 85% of playerbase, playing very badly, so 85% of the games are killer sided.
I bet you never played SOLOQ survivor, so you have no idea, worst game balance ever, killer is extremely relaxing to play, thats why I main killer now, you can play the OP SOLOQ survivor
All I ever play is solo Q, I'm a survivor main and I escape more than I die.
I'm just not gonna lie, I understand the games balance and the potential one side has over the other. Using bad players as your whole purpose isnt reasonable...
Games killer sided because people cant play or do gens is a stupid stance, people physically dont do their objective and wonder why they lose...
There are countless great survivor maps filled with loops and tiles that are safe and just waste the killers time. And if you're trying to change my mind dont talk about bad players losing... bad players should.
The fact is if matchmaking actually worked correctly every survivor would win far more but as it stands you will have a mixed bag of teammates.
Like the example I always go back to, if versed the same killer player with the same killer, perks, map, addons but had 2 different teams. 1 we wont easily and he got barely any hooks, the other team lost at 4gens. The difference was the team because of matchmaking.

For me this is lookin like a pass, genuinely a very underwhelming chapter in almost every way.
I’m genuinely more keen for eruptions incapacitated removal than the the new chapter itself. The perks seem to just encourage farming your teammates and tunneling, Killer seems to just be a 3 gen. I pray there is an excuse for this quality
But it’s okay, I’m sure we were deprived of content this update because anniversary has something good planned… Right? …right?
No. I will not buy the weakest killer in the game.
I wont see the killer either, basic attack killers arent good, scary or viable at my level so.... 3chapters this year for me instead of 4

If it was massively survivor sided you wouldn't have killers going on 100, 200, 300,400,500+ win streaks.
Good job you cant read, if you could youd understand matchmaking doesnt match people correctly at all and if you think a highly skilled player shouldn't win bad survivors then theres no hope.
Game is survivor sided, just because people cant loop or do gens doesnt mean it's not.
The game has and always will be survivor sided at the highest level and killer sided at the lowest, and theres no point saying its killer sided because of bad players...
people still find a way to go down at safe loops. The game is survivor sided, they just have to learn the game and apply it.
Edit: you also make up numbers, killer have gone on winstreaks as have solo survivors and swfs. Except alot are actually lies and/or cheated in it by deranking mmr off stream etc. Like the 300winstreak demo. You show me one continuous live stream of someone winning 100games as a single killer without a draw/loss. I bet you cant, and I also bet you alot of these experienced killers arent versing 4 survivors of equal skill and there will be 1-2 weak links on the team who shouldn't be in that lobby.

It wouldn't be so bad if matchmaking didn't stop trying after about 20 seconds. I'm able to handle super sweaty killers in solo queue at my MMR if I get teammates who play like I do. But there's almost always one or two teammates who don't know what to do or how to stay up in chase, and it leads to an easy 4k for the killer. I wish they would give bi-directional matchmaking another chance.
Agree, though when it first came out and was really strict Id only really see nurse and blight because obviously the others couldn't compete and honestly it got so boring never seeing other killers except every few days.
I just wish the mmr tracked skill somewhat, I'd be okay with weaker team members to see the roster but they should be doing gens minimum or at least loop a pallet/try to. Escaping is a terrible system
-
Believe it or not the game is still massively survivor sided, issue lays more with matchmaking than anything else.
I'm a solo Q survivor main myself and theres definitely alot of challenging games but that's not because the killers are stronger or survivors have gotten far weaker etc. But mainly because the matchmaking sucks, seriously look at the HUD I bet the games you lose is due to people barely on gens or able to lead a chase.
The worst thing about survivor is even if you play stupidly well you can still go down in mmr because your team was awful and shouldn't ever of been in that lobby, this just keeps happening the more you lose.
I still escape most of mine but I can tell even earlier on now if I will win or lose just by looking at the HUD and how long it takes people to get on a gen just at the start of the game, for some reason people dont do their objective... but we cant balance around 1 or more teammates being useless or then the game is even more imbalanced when people do actually play properly

Yeah you were the wrong person I was taking to. Some other person was out here arguing that I wanted weak Nurses. Sorry about that
That's okay, for a second I thought you was one of those people who strawman and twist stuff (alot of those on the forums which I assume is something you're getting on this post, frustrating right? Lol)
But I'm not one to try cause arguments, I'm actually very understanding of sides and even if I speak about changes for one side dont mean I dont think the other should get stuff too, I want better game health for all which is where alot only focus on them :)
-
No I dont blame them, alot of stuff is more fun with friends but I feel swf often causes issues and/or certain behaviours and reactions.
Firstly balance: it's well known swf is the strongest thing in the game, or at least has the potential to be, sure there can be weak swfs but you can never quite reach swf as a solo, no matter the buffs they add to solo queue swf will always be on top. This isnt just because they have the comms but more the fact they can pick their teammates, the can pick everyone the same skill, efficiency etc. Which is the huge difference, they dont randomly get paired with people not doing gens etc.
Killers dont know: this is a big one imo, the fact they have no idea means they cant prepare for it, as I mentioned swf has the ability to be really strong but it also affects perks etc. Hexs is a great example, already a huge risk but verse a swf it's even worse as they can call out the hex positions. Most hexs suck anyway though but still a negative.
Toxicity, this is a big one and for some reason swfs tend to be more toxic or sore winners/losers. Maybe they get a power trip with the imbalances, maybe they just think it's funny but it's rare someone in that swf will say "stop being toxic" and usually support that behaviour of their friends
Oblivious: alot dont seem to understand the advantages they have, even if they dont use everything to the max potential its still there. This happens with all players as everyone has different opinions but some just straight up deny any swf advantage and often result to name calling.
Matchmaking: everyone has different mmr rating, if the swf is a mixture it can mess with the matchmaking whether you verse a far weaker killer or stronger one just because of a single players mmr. This is a huge reason I never do swf anymore, either I versed a very easy killer and felt bad or my usual sweaty killers and my partner having a bad time because they arent at that level.
Summary:
Dont have an issue with swf and I dont blame them, all I ever ask is no toxic behaviour or act like it doesnt cause some issues. I just think killers should be able to see swf in the lobby to prepare, if you think every killer would dodge that tells it's own story

nah. hexes are an example of mechanics that were added. so i think it can work
That's perks though, that's the same as killer powers category. Like sure they can add more perk/killer ones but none that are base for all killer if you catch my drift

I really don't think we need to push the 80% killrate even higher.
That's called making up stats, if you are losing that amount you may need to look at your or your teams gameplay to evaluate why that is happening so often.
It also depends on your skill level etc. But the matchmaking is bad in general which dont help at all and often people will be miss matched but that dont mean the games is way in the killers favour, alot need QOL changes to be fun and rewarding to play beyond a level of people being massively inefficient
-
I dont see it personally, made a good film though ngl.
I guess for some it can be, like maybe someone swaps to a certain side and thinks "time to be toxic" or "time to play this way" but I think the majority just play to their own preferences over mimicking the role

Oooo let me join in!
This one I liked, highlights how differently people act when winning compared to losing... remember people dont care about winning lol

survivors got quite a lot of nerfs and cuts to most of their meta perks not long ago so i think is not the time to also buff killers more.
Did they though? Only nerf was DS, DH was more of a change not a nerf as it's still most used and is something still on all my builds.
I personally went from DS,DH,WGLF,BT/windows to OTR,DH,Resilience & windows.
I basically got BT free and just swapped DS for OTR as it's better but I could use DS with OTR and DH to reset the mending after OTR with DS to have DH usable so I get 3x second chases off hook

The talk has always been about giving survivors quality of life improvements and accessibility improvements…. and then adjusting the kill rate back to where BHVR wants it to be.
The talk should have included killers getting quality of life improvements and accessibility improvements, but that has never happened. So be prepared for terrible buffs, like 2% longer lunge distance, that move the kill rate, but don’t help the killer experience at all.
The survivors buffs haven't helped me, all it did was highlight games I'm gonna lose earlier on because no one is on gens lol
Only change thatd benefit me is to see my teams perks in the lobby just so I can dodge selfcare users because they clearly aren't on my level and I'm tired of dying on 1st/2nd hook due to selfcare, luckily I barely ever see it and only when matchmaking messes up

i never said more game modes. i agree with your statement that it would split the playerbase. no clue where you got that i did, but you sure did take it and run with it.
i want more mechanics. not game modes.
My mistake, even more mechanics would screw the game over though for both sides imo.
Killer isnt gonna have the spare time to go off and do X in a trail and then survivor doing more objectives other than gens will increase the games where people arent on gen (most survivor games I lose is due to a DC or people not on gens and this would encourage that)
At most you can put in an effect that triggers at X for both sides and pauses both objectives but at that point if killers cant hook and survivor cant do gens what's the point?
Theres no way to add base mechanics without ruining the experience for certain players especially with killers who already have extra mechanics like pinhead and the last thing you want is to nerf killers like that further

The second you tried to do an us v them argument for casual players, I already knew where this was headed.
That's not a us vs them argument at all...
I simply stated casual nurse players are going to find it way harder which is true, and a nerf regardless will always impact players especially casual players.
The nurse nerf punishes you heavily on mistakes with your blinks, something casual nurses will do more often.
Actually read instead of just throwing terms out you hear but dont understand. I just explained why youd see more bad nurses like your OP talked about.

I'm gonna ask this question and I might be harsh but who cares honestly. Is it me or are a lot of Nurse players lately not that good. I'm not calling myself a master looper as some people gaslight themselves to say skill issue at any argument. Every since the Nurse change, I'm noticing a lot of people were most likely relying on her strong add-ons similar to old DH and it's shown these days who actually understands Nurse.
This issue is casual nurses needed the extra help, call it a crutch or whatever you want but of course after a nerf alot of nurses will get weaker, it is a nerf afterall.
I do hate the argument "they wasnt good if they needed x" as if that's the only indication of skill. From my POV nurses needed those to stand a chance against a team of survivors of my skill.
So yes it's TRUE there will be less good nurses, that's what nerfs do but all it did was harm casual players even more on the killer side and I feel we always forget about the casual killer and focus on casual survivors.
Nurse needed a slight change imo but I'm not casual so different opinions and what not

tbh i don't think the game's staleness can be fixed with balance. i want new killer mechanics and survivor mechanics.
gens, hooks, totems, gates, hatches, chests, items, moris, and basements... it's still the same game since year 2. would like more stuff to do.
more ways to play.
I'm gonna have to disagree there, while DBD technically has 1 game mode with 2 roles the vast number of killers, addons and maps can and should provide plenty of entertainment but the issue is you dont see half the killers and perks because they're bad.
More game modes will just split the playerbase more, increase lobby times and like cause more imbalances as they try to balance for all the game modes. DBD isnt a shooter so you shouldn't really expect lots of game modes and should treat the killer, addons and maps as such which is all balanced and made useable the game wouldn't be so stale imo.
Afterall many games was very successful with very few games modes, DBD has the potential to do far more with what they already currently have in game but are lacking due to poor understanding and heading
-
The issue is the devs did the usual gut whatever they nerf. Tbh I'm still not sure to this day why freddy was even nerfed, he wasnt strong, he wasnt hugely popular either and if I'm not mistaken the nerf was before MMR so he had it at its easiest...
But with survivors not starting off in dream and teleport is on cooldown from the get go you are the most basic of killers and will take awhile to get people in dream, and if that isnt enough survivors now get immunity to falling asleep after waking up which lasts a long time as well as most addons being trash now.
They took an average killer and made him bad, not sure why (maybe it was for the addons which slowed gens by 1-4%) either way he didnt need it and BHVR did the usual "we dont understand, just nerf everything" mindset.
Hes just added to the list of killers I rarely see in the year, like most perks that are so weak and/or gutted after a nerf
-
Perks trash now.
Now while the survivors you verse and killer you play will definitely impact how good/bad it is, the perk itself isnt good and isnt actually gonna impact games. If you're competitive though this perks dead, similar to pop, ruin which I haven't seen since and I would never ever pick them.
So, the aura reading. Interesting idea as it's like infectious fright however this stuff is only good on very few killers to begin with and even then its still niche and dependant on the survivors you verse. Sure might be a great addition to nurse, blight but that's just because those killers are strong and not perk dependant so is a perk actually good if it only works on a killer who dont need it and/or would be better running other perks?
The regression, at max potential this can regress a gen about 8.99 seconds, while it's true this can affect multiple gens the time wasted to kick multiple gens and then the free distance you give players every time you kick a gen. It would probably put you in negative numbers and actually harm you unless you're able to kick every gen mega fast then down someone instantly but even at that point youd be better of just downing straight away.
Itll be a great perk against teams that dont do gens much and try to hide, it's not a perk that will be consistent especially providing consistent value.
I never used the perk myself, while I'm more of a survivor main I still do the odd killer game and I'd rather other perks over this one anyway just because my killers have set builds that work and I'm not gonna change every build to a gen kick one. But if I could escape more than die with the old version and get on fine with other perks as killer the new version certainly wont make it close.
Will be another dead perk I never see, like many other perks and other items, addons and the odd killers.
Maybe BHVR will just gut every perk so they're all terrible and this one seems good but thatd be a sad day imo

I want to hear someone who prove me that I'm wrong. I tried to defend this devs in every ######### way possible, first trying to say that aren't surv/killer side but it's only a skill issue, then I said that devs are not x side but noob side, but now it's clear like water that devs only care about survs.
Now, thanks to eruption nerfs, we will see 0 veriety of killers, every M1 will be dead at high mmr and, if someone didn't tunnel before this, now tunnelig and camping will be in every match, increasing hard tunnel and making the game less healty.
Eruption was healthy for the game because is the only actual counter to prove thyself because manage to block survivors on working together. At the same time required skill to be used because you must down someone really fast to use eruption properly.
It's funny to see that devs touch survivor perks after years (DH remained unhealty for the game for 5+ years and now is even more strong than before and doesn't require skill to be used because, as I said in a previous comment under another post, DH require lvl 1 of skill to gain 100 of advantage) and killer perks are not nerfed or reworked in healthy ways, are literally nuked in couple of months. Now only nurse will use eruption, because of the aura reading that will be probably decreased from 10 seconds to 5.
Devs doesn't understand simple things:
1) It's an 1vs4, if you touch something on one side you need to touch something with the same soul (gen perks: you nerf one gen regression and nerf a gen progression) on the other side: eruption nerf would be fine if they nuked also prove thyself, but it isn't healty because prove thyself is still here, and will be stronger than before.
2) They don't ask themselves "Why killer tunnel? Why killer use this perk?" they only see a community full of surv mains complaining about one thing and instantly destroy it, without asking themselves "Why does killer need eruption?" and the answer is easy: because gens fly. Eruption was used in like every build because blocked survs from working together, slowing down the genrush.
Devs, now that you nuked pop, ruin and eruption, why don't you nuke DH and prove thyself? Make DH a second chance with a malus, like "You use dh and you have incapacitation until you're 100% healed" something like this (It's an example, I said the first malus in my head). Make Prove thyself a skill based perk and not a "gg ez no counter gen devoured in half time", the perk is called "Prove thyself" not "Degree in mecahnical engineering". Why I like hyperfocus and I don't complain when someone use it against me? Because require skill to be used, I don't use hyperfocus because I don't get every skill check with great skill check, I care only about don't miss a skill check.
Maybe a nice rework for prove thyself would be "After X seconds of chase straight, you gain 10% boost in repairing gen for X seconds. If you get hit before times up, the timer reset" like you do 100 seconds of chase straight? Ok, now you gain a boost in gens for like 20 seconds, BUT if you get hit before the timer touch 100 seconds, you don't gain the boost. Obviously there must be some other specification, for example if the kiler loose you and doesn't find you in like 20 seconds, the timer stop and reset (for example). This will be a nice rework on prove thyself, and for good survivors this will be an improvement because "Oh, I can keep the killer in chase and get rewarded for that. Cool". Don't nitpick with the numbers I said, I just said my idea on how I would rework prove in an healty way for the game.
I hope devs really listen this time, because eruption's nerf isn't healty for the game and would be healty only if prove is reworked.
It's not so much that they're one sided but more of the fact they dont understand their Own game and cause/effect.
They will see stats and info they pull but not draw conclusions from them. Even when the community is vocal it still never sinks in. Huge maps are spoken about alot yet are always added...
This eruption change is no different, they seen a perk be meta and complained about (imo the incapacitated effect was just boring, I still won against it often) but they did the usual jerk reaction and kill the perk.
They just dont understand what they're doing
-
You can hold the button in advance and it should instantly start removing them without the risk of dropping a pallet or vaulting etc. However this does mean you have to let go and press again to drop/vault.
Or simply spin your 180° away from it and you should start removing the chains without vaulting.
Or you can change the buttons but I don't do that personally

Yes, threats are a big problem. The problem is that the killer looks at the steam profile and insults without being punished if the survivors saw the killer profile / prestige then the killers did not behave like that because they could receive a complaint
That's not at all the reason, people are sending horrible messages because they're being entitled and getting angry over a video game not because a killer can see prestige etc. Which mean nothing.
Plus majority of messages are from survivors endgame, the above example is from a survivor WHO WAS ON MY TEAM.... like theres just no reason for it and I shouldn't be getting private messages like such, regardless of side/role

I don't know if this was directed at my post, but if it was, allow me to give some context please.
I'm not mad at pallets being used. I dislike when they're being used inefficiently because it screws over the rest of the team. Now when a Survivor is running the Killer all game, I don't care. Do what you want. But if you're perfectly healthy and you're blowing through every pallet, and especially creating dead zones, then that's a different story. When I've played Killer, I've stuck with the Survivors who did that because it made it much easier for me to get mid to endgame pressure. There's nothing for the rest of the team to work with.
Not aimed at anyone in particular, just odd people would rather people lose health states than use pallets when they need to.
But like my comment said if people are efficient on gens and constantly push them you wont run out of pallets as long as people arent dropping them when getting hit or just camping them. Some maps like giddeon you can just pre drop every pallet and win.
Pallets are there to be used, I'll use them when I need to (some exceptions I'll never use them but that's due to killer powers) I will always use a pallet when needed, now you can bait pallet drops or make reads if killers will respect it but thats a higher level play not everyone will do especially since the way most people speak of casuals.
I just thought it was odd people rather keep pallets over health states, can hurt you alot and nothing is more silly than dying with a map full of pallets especially when they're safe pallets.
-
So many people hating people using pallets... like why? Are you saving them for the next game?
Really shouldn't be mad at people using pallets healthy or injured, as long as they dont get hit and drop it or just camp at all the pallets it's fine. As long as everyone does gens and loops before dropping you'll be fine. You'll die more from inefficiency and saving pallets over people using them to not lose a health state.
As for the OP. I dont really hate anything in the game, if I really had to pick itd be either killers face camping on first hook or survivors just giving up. Both are boring and just kinda waste my time and I just wanna play the game afterall
-
No matter how you play in a video game you shouldn't get messages like this...
And not that it matters but I play pretty fair and dont do any form of BM in the game as I dont see the point. Wouldn't surprise me if you are part of the problem and think this stuff is acceptable over a game.

This is a question for killer mains. What is, in your opinion, the ideal survival/death ratio that BHVR should aim for? 50%? 60%? 75%?
Personally (survivor main), I think 70% is a pretty good kill rate to aim for.
0% for both.
Going off kills is a lame idea and I still dont get how the devs think it's the best idea. Like come on Patrick can say stuff like "if you did a 5 gen chase bit you died was it really a skillful play" and if that doesn't highlight the issue and the devs bad understanding I dont know what does.
I'd rather the game go for hooks and balance on skill. I dont care about dying as long as the game was fun and well matched. Id also rather the ability to get lots of hooks each game too. Any system that punishes me because I didnt meet a single requirement I couldn't control is stupid.
If the game rewarded me for skill killers should have a high kill rate, only reason I hate dying in DBD is the risk to be put on a even more potatoe team than I was just on. Majority of games I die in is due to the team not doing gens, why should i get punished for bad SBMM

Even worse is that the killer looks at your profile/game hours/friends and starts running out of the lobby like a little girl
My profile is private to where they cant see my games, friends, recordings etc. so that's not an issue but they can still message etc. Which is where the issue lies as I play multiple multiplayer games so having communication on is a good thing for those other games just DBD seems to just be toxic harassment

Go to Options - Online, and under Gameplay Privacy, turn on Anonymous Mode. That way people will only see your character's name and no profile to click on.
Had that since it came out, people can still hover over the characters name and click and it will bring up your profile. So even with that mode on where they cant see my tag and they just see "Ada wong" for example doesnt actually stop them gaining access to my profile and sending horrible messages, harassing and false reporting because they lost or something

Play a single player game then . Seriously, the mentality of some people. It's not someone choosing to play a particular killer hurting this game. It's players like this.
Yet people say "people must be leaving because of a reason, maybe they should fix it"
It's just entitlement, and people will continue to be entitled and make up excuses for it because it gets listened to
