I'm not convinced. I think it's BNP's and Prove Thyself.
Are you joking? (it's hard to tell on these forums). It's obviously hackers.

Everyone knows Dead Hard was nerfed. But guess what? Quite a few people didn't use the god forsaken perk.
That's not even my biggest issue with the asinine 'SurVivOrS caN'T plAy wIthOut DEad HarD!'.
It's that the plethora of other buffs killers got are completely ignored just to make some whiny statement about Dead Hard.
It's a purposeful tactic from the type of players that ruin this game. "Hurrr survivors r bad! I shall now exercise my teenage revenge upon you for the years of flashlight clicking!".
Honestly this whole ordeal has made me reconsider, as an adult, why the hell I play this game LOL.
-
Wow, I'd love to get better at looping and chases.
Oh wait, 90% of Killers are just camping and tunneling at 5 gens so I never get a chance to. And the most recent thing today? Killers sending messages as a Solo survivor gloating over me dying after 2 team mates disconnect!
Such balance. So positive.

They took it away because the grind is what keeps people playing the game. They threw a bone out to the community with the prestige changes in hopes that players would stop complaining, only to increase the grind by 2x for anyone who regularly used BBQ like I did. The devs then claimed that the loss of bonus BP would be offset by role incentives, and now they’re backpedaling on that as well with comments about how it’s broken and players shouldn’t expect 2x BP.
Werd.
I freaking hate the new forced Prestige grind. I prestiged a few mains like Bill and Cheryl, but then all I wanted out of the blood web was decent items. Now it takes for EVER to get them and I have to wade through brown trash wasting hundreds of thousands of BPs only to have it reset when i finally get a few decent things and start all over again!
YAY.
-
Killers let survivors go?

No idea why they took the BP bonus away. I've been seeing it a lot less

At one point last night I had 3 slowdown Legions in the span of 5 matches. I gotta say, I wasn't trying my best after awhile because it's mind-numbingly tedious.

Most of the time survivors were either throwing the game (hardly getting more than one gen done) or the killer was playing dirty from the very first moment. Camping and tunneling were especially rampant, even on high tier killers like Nurse and Spirit."Most of the time" sounds like the big issue here. People like me have been warning, that the removal of the BBQ bloodpoint bonus would increase camping. But most people ignored it. Claiming, that killers cant camp more.
Now thats the result.
I have no idea what the point of removing the BP bonus was. It's just so stupidly random that they put their heads together and thought: "Hmm.. healthy perk that encourage Killers to leave the hook. But it's popular! Look how many Killers leave the hook! Must take the incentive for this away".
In what world does that compute?
-
I'm wondering if this build was what a Trickster I just faced was using. It was miserable. I had made 4 hook saves, NO gens were done, scumbag STILL camps and tunnels.
There's a thread of a few forumers who complain about survivors killing themselves on the hook. Well, I just did it. Usually don't. But holy crap. First match of my Saturday (and last) and it was pure misery. The other survivors, all very obviously a hodge podge of experience levels (one Laurie has NO idea what she was doing. None. Thanks BHVR matchmaking!) The survivors obviously just gave up working on generators.
When he finally hooks me *still at 5 gens*, he just stands in front of the hook using his ultimate to hit me while I hung there. Like seriously, you can't pay me to play this at this point.

I've used Blast Mine a lot. Pair it with Prove Thyself. It's excellent to show the team what gen you're working on. As Anara said, the key is to sneak away when you hear the Killer coming. Hide- they will usually kick the gen if they don't find you. Then you can hide further while their blinded.

@Pulsar said:
Why would you want to play against a stacked slowdown Legion? The game isn't fun at that point, it's just miserable and it takes so long to finish even if you somehow win.
The one we went against had DL, Thana, Call of Brine and Overcharge with Purple Blade and Mangled Pin.
Or a Nurse with 2 Range Add-ons.
The things that were strong against Solo's before this patch are now nearly insurmountable.
Honestly I D/C'ed today on my third Legion with all the slowdown perks. It was like he was playing specifically to make the match as long as possible.
I just can't do it anymore. Especially because I have a life and BHVR expects to make money off of me. I'm too aware of paying to be made miserable.
-
BHVR will assure you that they totally understand how frustrating and unfair it is, and then they'll SAY they have created a bandaid fix for it,,
But then they will completely buff camping and tunneling as usual.

"BHVR is removing any incentive to be altruistic" cant agree more, it truly seems that dbd truly punish you for being altruistic.
Like 90% times someone is hooked, the killer camps to get some free hooks of survivors trying to rescue a teammate. I remember a lot of games where i was camped but an insidious bubba and i could only watch as my random teammates fell trying to unhook me
Even their stupid SBMM discourages altruism. Never have I seen so many players who haven't been hooked just open the gates and run out immediately. Like, you can have someone on their first hook, and they don;t even bother to 99 the gates to give the rest of us a chance to save them. Just gong start the end game and save themselves because only escapes matter to get out of low MMR/potato team mate Hell.
I mean that was before this gross patch. Now I don't see Solo's escape at all LOL.

I will say that end game saves are incredibly difficult in soloq, which is why I've been running an end game hook save build. Hope, No one Left Behind, Desperate Measures, and BT. Helps counter STBFL hits for the unhook but still super difficult tbh, soloq is rough.
Well BHVR has nerfed just about every perk that would make an end game save viable. Everything they have done for the last few updates from the SBMM (where only escapes count) has actively discouraged altruism. It feels bad to be left to die on your first hook as unhooked people run out an exit gate (the rare time that happens). But who can blame them? It's the only way to work up from potato team mates, and you probably won't get the save anyways. Or else you'll just take their place. I might try your build tho. Altruism was where I had my fun in DBD.

The old hatch wasnt fair, but I miss the immersive feeling of hiding/walking together with a random teammate around Lery looking for hatch with a key.
Same. God, they have removed everything in the game that made Solo Q exciting.
Facecamping and tunneling has been common forever and everyone knows it almost exclusively punishes Solo Q because SWF can just communicate to gen rush and you know your team mate will hang on until the last second. So in the old hatch days, I remember occasionally bringing a key, and sneaking around to find my last team mate after Bubba basement camped the first two. I really wanted to help get them out. I was found sometimes and failed, but when it worked, it was a really cool feeling to escape a scumbag.
Same with them gutting Decisive strike. I used to run BT, Deliverence and DS sometimes. And I'd be the one who would always try to rescue a person on the hook at end game knowing I might have a chance to get out too.
Idk, it just seems like BHVR is removing any incentive to be altruistic anymore, just because a small percentage of 4 man SWF's were so overpowered and let's face it, they could be real buttholes to Killers as well- a key and the hatch, SWF all bringing Prove Thyself and toolboxes and bam- 4 people disappear. That felt rotten. I just think they went way too far with the nerf.

I'd say the self-care nerf and the Botany buff were also solid oopsies.
Botany was a buff for SWF (surprise surprise) and a nerf for Solo Q. I used to bring BK all the time. Now it's pointless because of the reduced item efficiency. If I pull a brown med kit from a chest I can't heal myself if I bring BK. It was a perfectly balanced perk before, but it got BHVR'd.
On topic, old Decisive was way better than OTR imo. I actually haven't seen many survivors bring in OTR, many (including myself) opting for BT. One thing I haven't read anywhere- does Borrowed Time also deactivate at end game now? Seems like they're discouraging all end game saves. I find in Solo Q, the rare match the Exit gates are powered, no one tries to save a hooked survivor anymore and just run out the door.

I don't think anyone is saying the devs specifically wanted to nerf solo que.
But I have seen a number of people saying "solo got nerfed by a significantly larger amount than SWF did", which is the contentious part because as far as has been discussed, that's not what's happening.
The most we got was 2 perks currently viewed as subpar hit solos a bit harder.
Yes solo que should be improved, I also don't think anyone is arguing that point.
It's already been explained to you quite thoroughly that Solo Q was always at a disadvantage and borderline miserable. It was ALWAYS a lot more difficult, with a lot more caveats. I'm not going to explain again why that is, as numerous people have already done so painstakingly.
Any survivor nerf, or Killer buff will impact Solo Q far more significantly than a 4 man SWF which has always had a ton of extra perks even if only by virtue of communication, coordination, ability to pick team mates, learn how to play efficiently with said team mates, strategize etc. This is a no-brainer. Numerous threads on the forums have illustrated that people who play in SWF's feel their gameplay hasn't changed much. The vast majority of Solo Q players have seen a huge drop in their already abysmal escape rates, many claiming that in most their matches, they don't even see the Exit gates powered.
So I'm not really sure what you're arguing in this thread. Perhaps you just don't feel as impacted if you're a Solo Q player, idk. But your OP has been answered fully and completely.
-
All Ive notice is everyone is running Prove Thyself including me. I never used to run it but now it's necessary.
-
Is it me or is this entire thread just someone splitting hairs and focusing on semantics to be ornery?
People don't literally mean the Devs specifically set out to nerf Solo queue as their entire objective. They're angry that the Devs gave absolutely no thought to how their changes would significantly impact the already disadvantaged (and large population) of players that cannot SWF. This thread is just about nitpicking how people express their incredulity that developers ignore the poor state of an entire group of players due to the strength of a minority of players ( 4-man SWF).

Yeah, well, it's been every ######### game tonight and I'm kinda already sick of it.
8K points per game, facecamped off of first down or tunneled straight off of hook.
Why even bother playing?
I'm feeling the same way. It's almost incomprehensible that Devs advertised they were addressing camping/tunneling, nuked a ton of survivor perks designed to help keep Solos alive a bit longer (to compensate for unpredictable team mates and lack of info), yet actually made it stronger. Like, did they actually think Killers would stop by making it easy?
Of course, their precious 4-man SWF's are faring just fine.
-
It's happening to most Solo Q survivors since the patch
-
Get used to it. They do it all the time.
-
But this can't be happening. The Devs said 5 seconds of BT and buffing Killers in all aspects would eliminate the need to face camp and tunnel.
-
They made it mandatory as stated, and probably the most tedious, time consuming grind possible.
Would it kill BHVR to add a bulk button to just accept the mostly garbage on the blood web instead of making us go through it all individually, one by one? I also notice less decent items than before (when they promised prestiging would grant better items... it didnt really but more than I see now).

Let's start a new post to remove hatch before killers do
Hatch is OP needs nerfing. Now, the hatch needs to spawn closed. The survivor will first have to hunt for a BBQ fork and will take 30 seconds to pry it open with skillchecks. If you miss one, BBQ fork breaks and Entity instadeaths the survivor, then resurrects the survivor so the Killer can Mori.

One of the times for me was similar - someone new in my match, or I am assuming. There was a teammate who was Claudette, whose only perk was Self-Care Tier 1. We were against a Pinhead with SH: Gift of Pain - I don't blame her what-so-ever, she was new. Felt sorry for her - she probably was wondering why the healing in this game took too long
Omg I've never thought about that. Imagine being brand new to the game (which is already a pretty jolting experience), choosing Claudette, and thinking you can heal yourself in a timely manner? That must be wild.

So this is my four rounds within the last hour and a half because rounds last so long now <3 1. First guy killed himself on first hook, camping ghost face at 4 gens for the rest of the match despite his 40+ buffs. 2. Cenobite slugging at 4 gens (mayb skill issue as teammates didn't pick up but I'm just showing my last four rounds to show how miserable solo queue is), 3. First guy killed himself on first hook but kind boi felt sorry for me, 4. Oh my god you guessed it, the first guy killed himself on first hook and he slugged me to death as punishment cuz I looped him for a 2 gens because survivors aren't allowed to win the game anymore so I was very naughty trying and needed punishing dbd style
Wait a second-
I see you escaped once there. How bloody dare you. Was that a hatch escape?
Hatch needs to be removed entirely I see.
-
I don't mind it. First it was ranks, then grades, now prestige level. It's all the same in the end.
I think for Killers it might be helpful if they're newer (or maybe playing a Killer they haven't before) to see if they're going against God tier survivors and they can lobby dodge.

@tippy2k2 said:
I'm kind of half and half since playing some more solo survivor
On the one hand, my games have been much tighter (especially against the normally cake walk M1 killers), which to me at least makes them much more enjoyable. We're getting gens done but we are losing and winning by the skin of our teeth. I feel like I have to actually work at this point in order to give myself a chance to escape. It does help me though that I never really used any survivor meta perks so I had very little adjusting I had to do
That being said though, I have also found that if I do want an actual chance to escape, my "sweaty" survivor build (Bond, Kindred, Lithe, and Prove Thyself) are basically a requirement. Which is kind of unfortunate as I have a bunch of "fun" builds but if I bring my fun builds, the killer has to be just God awful in order for me to have any kind of a chance to win. This also clearly did nothing to help with camping and tunneling, though to be fair to the update, camping and tunneling has been an issue for quite a while so I don't think it's fair to blame the patch on that. It's just that previously if a killer camped/tunneled, it still felt like you had a chance to hammer gens and go but now it feels like you're kind of screwed...
It feels like they went with the plan to buff solo players to closer to SWF levels and then buff the killers in order to help level the playing field for everyone but then forgot to do the solo buff. I run Bond and Kindred right now in my builds because while information has always been useful in this game, it's now a requirement if you want any chance to survive. Something is desperately needed for solos to get the same kind of info that SWFs get for free because right now I have to burn two perk slots just to put myself at their level. It used to be highly encouraged and a good idea pre-patch but now it feels like a must if you want to have a chance to survive the trial and it shouldn't be like that...
I barely escaped playing Solo queue last night. And I played it all evening trying to give this patch a chance. You're right. The only time we came close to getting the exit gates powered was a super sweat build + info. I brought Prove Thyself, a Commodious Toolbox + add ons, Built to Last (to recharge it), Empathy and Inner Strength (b/c it's Solo. You can never rely on a team mate for heals). Ran around, always tried for 2 people on a gen or more.
I feel like my builds before the patch were more fun. I usually ran BT and DS (again, necessary in Solo Q a lot), but I had 2 perk slots to play around with and tried different items.
-
It's BHVR logic. They're reducing the grind by making the grind endless.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
You know, survivors always ignored reasonable points from killers as well. It is just the nature of the beast, and now that the tables are turned, you expect me to care about your petty grievances? Absolutely laughable. Especially knowing the devs will bend over backwards to make this right for you guys. You expect it over night when surely, by now, you know how their update schedule works...
With BHVR's schedule I'll start looking for them to address the issues circa October 2024. Right after The next 8 new Killers. They'll get right on it lol.
-
Solo Q has basically been a dumpster fire since the patch, so I decided to try Killer ( I haven't played in like, a YEAR lol). I was always really crappy at Killer, because whenever I tried (before MMR) I would be like, a Rank 19 and be placed against a 4 man SWF in purple ranks.
So the SBMM is working right? (/sarcasm). I queued up yesterday, and first lobby all Prestige 9-10 survivors. Like, REALLY? I lobby dodge and try again. The next batch's lowest prestige was 9 again.
Just noped out lol.
On the survivor side, since no one is escaping, I'm trapped in low MMR hell where my typical game looks like this (except I don't always get the hatch escape).
So no. I don't believe it works now, or ever has lol. The premise on kills/escapes being the ultimate factor was a daft idea from the get go.

i didn't lose a single solo Q match out of like 30? Didn't really count, cuz i was busy counting the 18 Demogorgons in a row I faced. Played around 7-8 swf matches, died in 2 cuz we purposefully threw the game after testing bully builds.
Today played like 5 solo Q games, escaped all. In the past 2h played in swf and threw every single game (aka had a chance to escape, gates opened, but decided to let entity eat me).
so overall my survivor games are hella fun, but i throw a lot cuz i feel bad.
My build for solo Q is Botany, CoH, Lithe and Overzealous. And it looks like I'll stick to that build until Botany gets nerfed.
(Edit, I find those matches actually funny, cuz i'm a killer main, playing survivors only to get the ranks and then dip. But since the patch, i didn't really feel like playing killer at all. I played like 2 matches, but didn't test anything yet)
I'm sorry, but LOL come ON.
You're claiming you have escaped playing Solo Q 30 times in a row after all the survivor perk nerfs? See, I know you're lying, because there is no way anyone can play 30 Solo Q matches at this moment without half their team disconnecting on their first hook or down at least once. Team mates are way too unpredictable, and this patch has made them even more unstable.
It's fine to enjoy game play after this patch, but even one of Ayrun's best Solo Q escape streak last year was 30 in a row.
Just make it believable next time.
-
Every Solo Q player experiences the D/C at first down I think. When it happens in my games, I just try to get the most BPs I can out of the match.
Tbh, the d/c's don't bother me quite as much depending on the situation because I think Solo's are just super frustrated. When you load into the fourth match vs Legion or Plague running Thano it's just.... jfc lol. I get TEMPTED to d/c, but I try to stick around for my team mates. I get the most tempted on my third or fourth camper/tunneler knowing I won't get to really play the game, and now with the changes, no one will be able to finish gens. The feeling that I just can't take this crap anymore and I don't want to entertain the scumbag for even a second.
I also have empathy for Killers who D/C sometimes. I think we've all experienced that unique DBD frustration. Sure, we should resist it, and I usually do, but we're human after all and everyone succumbs sometimes.
