When a mod edits a post, could the poster be notified as of why?

I've noticed one of my post was slightly edited and I don't know why the change was needed. Was it an accuracy problem or ... ? (Especially since the expression I've used is the one I've seen for as long as I remember and the replacement one feels ... weird.)

Also, I could have never noticed the change.

    Get used to it. They do it all the time.

    I noticed one of my comments was edited but not really in a noticeable way. I think the only thing edited was the guy I quoted and his comment got removed. Edits for that reason are probably quite common.
