  • I'm wayyyyy more survivor than Killer. I started playing during the Rank system. And though I think the SBMM is an epic and total failure, Ranks had their own issues (which could have been tweaked instead of made into BS).

I started pkaying DBD as Killer. And We all know what a learning curve DBD has for brand new players. Back then there was no intro system aside from; "This is a hook. Take this Dwight, and hook him. There, ready to rumble!".

And after like, 3 games as a Rank 19-20 Killer, pretty fun- everyone seemed the same level, then suddenly BOOM. I'd face a rainbow SWF bully squad on comms. So the survivor lobby would have like, 3 purple rank survivors and ONE Rank 20. Just hell for a n00b. Or the time I decided to try Huntress, first time ever. Full SWF flashlight bully squad. It was demoralizing so I just stopped lol.

I tried again AFTER SBMM to see if things had changed. Not really. I've obviously used BPs I earned on survivor to get some not sucky perks, and was still matched with people far above my skill level. I know BHVR says; "Just keep playing! Keep being shat on over and over! Eventually the matchmaking will adjust!".

LOL my pale Russian behind it will. The Killer learning curve is hell, but after staring into the faces of Bubba's, Wraiths, watching that Huntress stand on a hill and aim at the hook I'm on in Solo Q- I don't have it in me to just camp Solos. Don't think that actually helps to learn.

Solo is still the most miserable experience in DBD, but learning Killer under the circumstances is a hell on it's own.

  • Solo Q is about to become way more miserable somehow. Devs really outdid themselves. Didn't think it was possible. They already changed the the hatch and keys making them utterly useless/impossible. I now have something like 77 "Ultra rare Pink keys" just on Bill alone. All the new Killers are high mobility or teleporting. Getting out as a last survivor is just about impossible.

I just cringe at the thought of loading into a match against Legion with the buffed thanatophobia. Those matches are already brutally long and irritating. Or the thought of a Claudette self-caring for 100 years in a corner while someone goes to struggle on the hook.

Hook suicides and d/c's are already a way of life in Solo Q, and I can only see that getting worse. God help us all lol.

  • This weekend I had some time to play DBD. I play Solo Q, and I have never seen such relentless camping and tunneling. It was almost every match I loaded into. First downed survivor regardless of how many gens were up, facecamping. People kept d/c'ing or killing themselves on the hook. And due to how MMR works, that means I would get lower quality team mates (since there's no escape with this crap).

It was just a miserable experience. the only reason why I persisted was because I just want to finish the Rift I paid for (never again will I buy it lol). Camping/Tunneling just decimates Solo Q. It just does. I'm so disappointed that BHVR nerfed Decisive. Sometimes it was the only reason I actually got an escape here and there (and my escape rate this weekend was less than 10%). I started having to run Deliverence, whiich I usually don't, and paired it with DS just to have a shot at playing the match and god help me, twice it got me out the Exit gates. I run these perks because i HAVE to. Not because I want to. I'd love to fool around

Now? Well, that option is gone. DS is useless. I'm honestly not looking forward to this BS massive nerf. It's all for Killers so they have an easier time against SWF (who are a at massive advantage).

Maybe that's what BHVR wants. That we all play SWF. Because they just made Solo go from miserable to unbearable. It just sucks because no one I know plays DBD. But I think SWF are the only survivors having fun (and a scant few on this forum who claim they win every match as Solo and its easy ....lol).

I'm just appalled that BHVR has left Solo in an even worse state.

..and we all know OTR wont go live. It will be rendered useless. Just give it time lol.

  • Can someone explain to me why everything needs to be "balanced" using the top MMR of Killers vs SWFswhich is a small percentage over the massive amount of players who are solo q/mediocre/low-mid-tier? Did the devs say somewhere why the highest level people matter more than everyone else?

  • I just can't understand why they would gut it so thoroughly, unless the intention was to actually make it useless so no one would equip it.

If they really gave a crap about camping and tunneling, and Solo Q (lmao they don't), they would disable hook grabs. Probably 75% of the Killers I faced in matches this evening just camped and tunneled. Then Solos try to save, only get hook grabbed by the camper. Then he drops them at the hook and can camp TWO survivors.

Leave it with gens of course, but hook grabbing just promotes facecamping.

  • Ranks system was better.

DBD devs are just too narc to admit they failed :/

  • As a Solo Q survivor I just pray for anything that allows me to play the game longer from camping/tunneling and shite team mates D8 lmao.

I'm scared they didnt even mention us at ALL (no surprise, BHVR hates Solo Q). But we need something, man... something. lol

  • I always 99 the gates in case of Blood Warden, but in Solo queue often times a team mate just opens the gates right away even if someone is being chased.

Recently, a team mate went down and I just had this feeling on impending doom so ran out. Blood Warden activated and Bubba mowed down the survivors that didnt. I don't see BW much, but when it happens, it's scary as hell! lol

  • BHVR only cares about SWF's. They did nothing to help Solo Q's, and as usual, base their "Meta Perk shake up" on the top teeny tiny MMR % which is SWFs vs top Killers.

The rest of us they think will be happy buying another kawaii loser weeb hat for Feng while being face-camped by Bubba as usual.

  • BHVR wants to phase out Solo Q so it can pretend it's one of the big boys of team PVP games.

  • DS has basically been made completely useless. It should be further nerfed? After the changes, trust me, no one will use it.

Is it the visibility range that is too narrow in your opinion? Or is it that you can't even properly see within the visibility range because the lighting is too dark?

Bit of both. I can only see like, an arm's length in front of my survivor, and what little is visible is very dark. Not a big deal if I'm on a generator but in a chase I constantly bump into objects, can't see a vault unless I'm right on top of it etc. It's way more frustrating than "scary".

  • I think Devour Hope is fine. It's scary as hell when it pops, but it can be countered, and it's quite a gamble for a Killer to bring it.

Playing as a Solo survivor against Dredge for the first time this weekend and I have to say, the Nightfall is way too dark. I play on console (which is darker on every map than PC) and I can barely see a damn thing during Nightfall. To have to deal with that for a full minute is a bit too much imo. My rando team mates were d/c'ing or suiciding on the hook. They have to make it at least playable. There's a middle ground between what we saw on the PTB and almost complete darkness like now.

  • Honestly I've been camped and tunneled through BT and DS at 4-5 gens way more than I've ever got a DS escape. How much can a perk be nerfed? lol

  • It's basically almost impossible to escape as the last survivor. So many high mobility/teleporting Killers. When the hatch was visible at a certain point, you would at least have a shot at it. Now I never get the hatch and there's no way I'll open the door in time when a Spirit is just zipping from one exit gate to the other. Or a nurse. Or a Billy. Or a teleporting Killer. Or a Huntress that can hit me from halfway across the map and around 2 corners.

If I was part of an SWF it wouldn't seem as oppressive (and would probably be a lot more fun). But Solo is the Russian roulette of DBD. You get situations like first person face-camped tunneled out- next person d/c's. 4 gens left. you know it all gone to hell. Next person thinks "What's the point, I'm killing myself on hook too".

Hatch gets closed b/c it's a Wraith moving at light speed to search for it. But sure, Exit gate is totally viable! /s . Lmao.

  • I miss the old Rank system :( .

It’s not the killer. It’s matchmaking. It’s horrendous every new update. Waaay too many good killer players vs. the endless sacks of potatoes you get as a teammates. I’d rather have longer que times if it means I get some fellow mid-mmr teammates for a change, instead of scaredy cat newb casuals in low mmr, who are too afraid to do Pinhead’s lament box. 😑

I think this is one of the main problems. MMR was always a pile of shite for Solo queue survivors. Devs refuse to do a damn thing about face camping/tunneling at 5 gens which is almost always a guaranteed loss for solos. Then the system dictates you aren't that skilled, and you go down, with less skilled survivors. Rinse, repeat, soon you're in MMR hell, able to loop a newer Killer for days but it doesn't matter because your team mate aren't doing generators anyways. They're creeping around the map and hiding behind rocks.

Another bad side effect of the MMR system (and how it only take into account kills/escapes) is that eventually decent Solo queue players get sucked into the low MMR vortex then matched with new Killers who then d/c (don't blame them really, it's frustrating).

As of late, I notice being matched with Killers who are obviously very skilled, while the Solo team is a mish mash of experience. One team member is competent, the next team mate is default Meg with all yellow Meg perks (a month in), etc.

I think it's that the Devs either can't or won't recognize that they keep buffing/nerfing both sides according to Killer vs SWF dynamic. Solo queue is the cannon fodder they ignore, but there's actually quite a lot of solo queue players.

  • I'm on console, nice to know some PC players think we're second class citizens lmao. I usually play Solo Q, and I use very altruistic builds and spend most games saving PC players who won't stay on a gen if you paid them, because they want to run out for fancy flashlight saves that never land.

Console is certainly not optimized, and I'm sure a mouse makes some things easier. But looping is not the entire game. The outcome of a match is heavily decided on the decision making capabilities and game/map knowledge of the players. I run Borrowed Time always, and yet still wait for the Killer to vacate the area (in the few instances they aren't camping) before an unhook. I run CoH for the team (at least I will until it's turned into crap). I always try for the basement save, and I hate leaving a man behind. So I'd take a smart player regardless of what platform they use over someone who is careless, or selfish.

But yanno, it's Solo Q so it's like playing the lottery every time lol.

Damnnn that’s a dark thought. Still one has to wonder..,

Nothing matters in business unless it's making/losing money. If competitiveness drives up profit, they will feed the beast. They will tap that vein until they go too far and PR will announce; "Hay gurl! We heard you loud and clear about that thing! Your feedback is so important!". It's dark, but common lol.

The actual best way would be to allow the option to mori the final survivor by holding down the attack button exactly the way it works right now instead of having it be an involuntary action that completely prevents any kind of bonding moment.

I have a theory that BHVR knows the level of toxicity and rivalry in DBD. The whole Survivor Main vs Killer main dichotomy is lucrative for them. Many perks/changes they make encourage bitterness. It can't be coincidence.

  • @Peanits said:

As you've mentioned, you could just as easily not down them if you want to let them escape. If you insist on 'establishing dominance', getting close enough to down them and choosing not to still sends the same message.

A lot of us actually like that. I'm not sure you realize, but this game is chock full of bitterness and toxicity. Having the Killer carry me to the Hatch was kind of a fun bonding moment as weird as that sounds. It made the other person human and was this shockingly pleasant surprise.

You also have made it so less Killers will be benevolent to the last survivor.

Edit: Can a survivor just hide and wait out the EGC to be spiteful over the Mori?

  • I hate this change. It's stupid. I've seen loads of survivors in Solo queue disconnect to deny a Mori.

So I wonder how many survivors will just hide in a locker or behind a rock until the timer runs out.

I sat through it twice 🕳️👩🏻‍🦯

Once while typing hurriedly in a discord thread to keep other people up to date and secondly while writing it all down

I'd have included gameplay of playing as + against Dredge, perks in action, mori etc. but it reached a point where I wanted to get it done and out because lets be real it's the anniversary chapter and gameplay will be everywhere within a couple hours lmao. Plus I have a busy day tomorrow so it's either get it done now or eat into revision time later.

Otz already has a video up on it, so you made the right call :)

  • I don't know how you find the patience but it's appreciated! I'd have never sat through such a stream. Thanks again :)

  • They did absolutely nothing for Solo queue again.

If they nerfed BT and DS, I'd just stop playing the game entirely. Without being a part of an SWF, it would be the definition of insanity to keep it up lol.

Maybe next update instead of addressing really annoying things about the game they'll give us a Dress up side game where we can pretend Claudette is a Kardashian and discover fun new looks.

  • @Mooks said:

Oh wait. They talked about that ping system last year but it was missing in this stream. Damn.

(also unlinking set cosmetics was also not talked about..)

    I'm not surprised.

Playing Solo Q is getting SO bad. I mean they keep saying; *"Oh, we're really really looking into that! Solos are beaucoup d' important! :) :) :)! Here's a ton of great new Killer perks that SWF's on comms will develop ways to work around but will utterly destroy anyone who casually plays alone! Boons? Can't remember why we made them, but now SWF is gonna think twice bro! Meanwhile we've discovered the Meta is bad. BT and DS are used soooo much. We're gonna shake that up! Really make this hip and new so the kids really feel it!"

Like, sorry I'm salty but seems most of the changes will do nothing to improve the Solo Q experience and in fact, make it even more irritating. Every "nerf" or challenge they create to level the playing field between Killer and SWF (which is needed) absolutely handicaps Solo queue. Unless of course, they just hope we all just shut up and play with the bots.

  • Solo Q gets shafted and ignored once again.

    Thanks for the summary tho!

I don't have it happen very often (Hell, it's been a long while since I've even SEEN a camping Bubba) but when it does happen, it super sucks :(

I envy you. Last time I played I got sucked into a lower MMR vortex. Camping in some form happens in every other game. I had 3 camping Bubbas in a very short time frame. One just sat and nodded at me.

I don't blame people for suiciding on the hook. BHVR has known this is a hell of a problem for Solo Q for years.

  • I don't play Legion, but.. I might be the only person who doesn't like Susie's skins lmao. Same reason as you, maybe. They just look like ridiculous *honti ni kawaii gamer girl uwu* that isn't the slightest bit intimidating or competent looking.

I play Bill. He always look battle-hardened lol.

and he will never get a new skin.

  • I think most hook suicides happen in Solo Q.

Solo Q is terribly frustrating atm for a lot of people and there seems to be no relief in sight. They said the SBMM was going to fix everything for everyone, but it turned out to be absolute trash that encourages the very behaviours that make Solo Q awful; facecamping/tunneling Killers and selfish team mates. So Kills regardless of how you get them and escapes above all else = skilled in the eyes of BHVR and they're too narcissistic to admit they screwed up.

I only play maybe once or twice a week now. I used to play a lot more. I play Solo Q and I can honestly say for a lot of us we get to a burn out point (at least for the day). Last I played, I had 3 face-camping Bubbas in a row. Three. The type that just sit there and nod at you because their entire purpose isn't Blood points, isn't even playing the game, but to grief other players. On the third one yeah I certainly suicided on the hook because I am sick to the teeth of facing these infantile little jerks. I have a job, I have a mortgage, I'm caregiving for a parent with cancer. When I get a few hours to play a videogame, I'll be damned if I feed the psychopathy of some little arse waiting for his Mom to bring him his grilled cheese sandwich. I've been playing long enough that I know these matches in Solo Q are always disasterous. The Killer is rewarded for this behaviour 95% of the time, and usually gets an undeserved 4K. Unless we're running Kindred, Solos can't know about someone being face-amped until they're on top of the hook for the save. Or else, they all dive bomb the hook and all die (with or without Kindred).

In that rare occasion, that unicorn of a match where the other Solos actually figure out I'm being facecamped and diligently try to work on gens? I'll hold out as long as possible. But that is rare indeed. We're human, and we all can get fed up at times.

Now I DO get annoyed as well if a Solo team member d/c's just for being downed first. Or if someone hook suicides for no apparent reason (in these cases, hurt ego most likely), but I don't encounter that a lot. 99% of the time it's due to a player being face-camped and hard-tunneled. The fact is, most people don't want to play that "completely valid strategy" type of game over and over and over again. SWF's punish facecampers, Solo Q unfortunately has a very difficult time doing so. It gets stale, irritating, and ridiculous to wait for match after match only to load into the same crap.

If the Devs put a simple blood point bonus named "Hanging in There" or anything to make Solos commit to struggling to the bitter end it might get better. I find it ironic that whenever discussions in these forums come up about camping the hook, the general attitude is; "well you have to give Killers incentive to leave the hook! Reward them!". Meanwhile, if Solo Q is a miserable experience and you don't want to watch Ghost Face teabag you a breath away from your nose, "Punish them for wanting the hell out of dodge!".

They have to give Solo Q tools to help deal with a well known situation so most match don't end in a steaming pile of crap, or give them incentive to tough things out. Punishing hook suicide will only make people leave the game, or else never play unless they're SWFing. Which is something many Killers feel overwhelmed by (rightfully so).

  • @Icaurs said:

If that's what you believe, then I'm sorry you have such a negative attitude. As I said play however you want, it's not against the rules.

However please don't use an excuse that you may be trash talked at the end. At least own that your attitude is the reason you may be taunted at the end.

Not to mention there are possibly more console players in total than PC players and we dont even get end game chat lol

  • That is insane.

I had something similar but with a Hag but it wsn't a bot. I think it was a hacker controlling. I knew something was off from the get go because how often to you start a match directly in the Killer's terror radius?

We all started in the same spot just paces from the Killer. For the first while, I was looping the Hag, stunned her with a pallet, was heading around the shack (got some distance) but suddenly she literally flew through the air and in 2 seconds I'm downed. Then she zipped all over the map to every survivor and instadowned them in under 6 seconds. She didn't hook anyone. One survivor had Unbreakable and as soon as she was up, the Killer teleported in a split second and instadowned her. 2 people disconnected. I didn't want the disconnect penalty and had to lay there bleeding out.

I couldn't report it because I don't record my matches and know if there's no footage, it's just a button they put there for show.

Listen I was solo, so idk what my teammates were doing. And one still died somehow. Oni camping me across the map and all 3 are on a gate and someone still dies. Idk what to say. That person put up 6k points.

    I know! That's what's hilarious and I can empathize.

They literally stood on one side of the map, staring in your direction. I just can't imagine how one managed to die LOL

  • I don't get the people who think this is out of the ordinary. I played 8 matches today and stopped because I just got tired of the same camping and tunneling. I run BT, I run DS, Killers will just stand a few meters from the hook and tunnel through decisive, through other team mates throwing themselves in the way. It just gets tedious and though it isn't against the rules, it's a scummy way to play. No one respects it. It takes no skill to stare at your first hooked survivor until he/she dies. It's not good for game health as it mostly punishes Solo Q.

I think SWF really ruined the balance of the game. Or else, the game can't be balanced with Killer/SWF and Solo queue at the same time. When I played Killer, I hated SWFs. Many of them are obnoxious, they basically have a variety of extra perks built in through comms (Kindred, Bond etc). They can coordinate their items before the match. They can know their team mates well and strategize (for example, say you're playing against Pinhead- Solo Q players have a shite time with no one solving the Box. SWF can designate Box duty or just call it out).

I also noted they are more likely to BM. I never play SWF, and as a Solo queue player. I almost never see teabagging or flashlight clicking for the sake of it. Flashlight clicking maybe to bait the Killer into a chase (if the survivor thinks they're a looping hot shot. usually it backfires lol). And I've only seen teabagging on the rare occasions Solo Q's manage to escape a Killer who has BM. I'm sure it happens and Solo Q players aren't all angels, but I'm just saying, I don't see it a lot.

I honestly just play the game way less. I don't have friends who play to get the insane advantage SWF has, my team mates in Solo Q are degrading since MMR, and Killers just camp and tunnel from the first down.

I have to ask myself why I even try LOL.

  • I had a rare chance to play a few matches today and out of 8 matches, 6 Huntresses, 5 of which camped and tunneled. One facecamping Bubba. One normal Artist.

Rarely did I get competent team mates (Thx for the MMR BHVR! Is it still on?). In your clip when you were being facecamped, what the hell were your team mates doing?? That's what I've been seeing more in my matches as well (I play Solo Q). You have survivors just standing there in the distance, shook- not doing anything but staring in the direction of the hook. In end game stats it seems there are 2 experienced survivors who get like, 17-20k BPS and 2 survivors who get like, 6k. BHVR thinks this is "balance".

As for his saltiness, there is a narrative out there that he's bought into where Killers simply must camp and tunnel because the game is so unfair to them which is only partially true. SWF isn't that fair. I stopped playing Killer because it's miserable to go against a coordinated team on comms.

But Solo Q is at a disadvantage most of the time and lies at the bottom of the dung pile tp BHVR.

  • I just don't get why the road is soooo wide. No residential suburban road is a 4 lane highway lmao. And I hate running into things that look hoppable only to "Nope". That part is on me, and I guess I have to learn which windows are hoppable and where.

  • I love Oni-macaroni lol.

I find him to be a really cool design, some amazing cosmetics, and he looks/sounds legit intimidating.

I never said anything of the likes that somebody or you specifically were a bigoted twat or homophobic or anything.

yes my point was only that he was always left ambiguous, and him being revealed as gay isn’t a retcon it the actual literal sense. Or any addition of lore through tomes can be considered retcons and then… why only ever mention this when it’s LGBTQ+ related?

and assuming someone can’t be gay because they had a heterosexual relationship is kinda ‚latent homophobic‘? Sorry i can’t express this term in English but i don’t mean it’s kn any way due to actual hatred but it’s actually a very good example of how this kind of representation is important and why David is a great choice after all! This is a story of David finding out himself who he is and going through phases and having to with his and his families struggles with the fact that he is gay.

the devs are always for any new story looking at a char and ‚randomly‘ decide new stuff they add. This is part of their story writing. But we also know that they have created one of their original survivors with being LGBTQ+ in mind while not revealing who that is. And chances are, this could have been David all along and the girlfriend (which iirc was mentioned in a tome around the time they made that statement about inclusion) could have very well be always intended to be for him what we now know.

I understand your position. I really do, and I actually agree with a lot of it. At the same time, I can also understand things from other people's perspectives as well. I personally would have preferred they did the lore, and released this information about David through the tome and didn't announce with a mega-phone.

They didnt retcon David. He was never confirmed straight. Please learn what words mean.

    You're not worth my time.

@Mooks is, because he's a good guy and actually discusses things respectfully even if it's a disagreement.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2933208#Comment_2933208

It was also never confirmed that he wasn’t gay, was it?

you do realize how writing new lore for an existing character works, right? There have been many tome story’s all adding new stuff to existing character, some even ret-conning things from the initial backstory. But it seems like all of that is okay but as soon as a character whose sexual orientation wasn’t confirmed gets confirmed to be not straight it’s somehow ret-conning and bad?

Dude, what are you arguing? I'm personally happy with David. Love his new shirt. + shades.

But it was implied he was heterosexual. A developer specifically wrote a very detailed post that they decided to make David gay because out of all the existing (free) survivors, it seemed the best fit. Which meant he was never originally intended to be gay or perhaps, like most survivors, he was at the most ambiguous with heterosexual implications (I think this might be your point? Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe you're saying the fact that many survivors lore being ambiguous and having no confirmed sexual orientation means no revisions happened?). Regardless, they added to his lore and took it in a different direction. Fantastic (for me).

My point is, all of this is very dependent on people's interpretation of David. It's OK to have different interpretations. For some, him having a g/f heavily influenced their assumptions. Thus. some might find it a bit of a revision to an existing character, and in that way, see it as 'forced inclusion"; and that does not make them in any way homophobic. They're just processing it. And there's a discussion to be had. As I said earlier in the thread, for BHVR it was a Catch 22. If they made a new survivor that was DLC then they would be accused of cashing in on the rainbow and chasing after the gay $$.

If these players suddenly said; " Well screw this! I'm never playing David again! IEW.". That's different and granted, I might side-eye somewhat. My whole point, is that everyone criticizing the release of this is not automatically a bigoted twat.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2933182#Comment_2933182

David revealed as being gay is not a ret-conn and is not changing the character.

    that is an objective fact.

No it's not an "objective fact".

He was a character that was never even implied to be gay, and the developers themselves looked at the list of existing survivors (as Peanits said in a post) and decided David was the one they could reasonably include. Again, I'm totally on board, so I'm not going to argue about it. Not everyone is going to agree with absolutely everything 100% of the time. Doesn't make them them bad people.

Anyways, god I'm so over this. Have a good day.

    Yeah but it's VOX lmao.

I'll give it a go, but Vox is the most neo-liberal media out there. Do you have something less terribly biased? https://www.influencewatch.org/for-profit/vox/

It has been my experience that anyone who uses "woke" to mean any liberal, progressive, or inclusive decision a group makes. (As opposed to the actual traditional meaning of woke since the 20s, which is aware of the threats facing you as a minority in society) is someone who is not honestly looking for debate, as much as just spoiling for an argument.

    I use the word "woke".

I'm gay. I was surprised they ret-conned David, but now that I see his new cosmetic, I'm totally on board (I'm shallow that way) and currently leveling him lol. In the end, I'm actually glad they chose him because he doesn't look like a mish-mash of gay stereotypes.

I think of the term "woke" not as people who are liberal and progressive (which is usually good). It refers to extreme neo-liberalism over classic liberalism.

In this context, it would be accusing everyone who isn't ecstatic about this change as carte blanche hating gay people when in fact, they probably don't. I've seen people who would have had no problem with a new character being gay, just didn't like changing an existing one, yet they are still accused of homophobia which is not cool. Not everyone with criticism (so long as it is non-destructive) is auto-homophobic.

"Woke" refers to the type of people who claim to be "right side of history" when they have a tendency to weaponize the progressive stack against those they believe to be lower on it than they are. Just muh opinion.

  • As others have said, most basement camping Bubbas are doing so to purposely cause grief and irritation for the survivors in the match. The problem is that it mostly punishes Solo Q. It's not SWF where it can be called out on comms "Just do gens". In most scenarios, You get 3 blind/clueless Solo team mates all dive-bombing the basement giving him multiple hooks, and feeding him what he wants.

So no, I'll kill myself on the hook. Screw it. That will at least tell the team mates he was camping and what kind of arse they're dealing with. I get one day a week to sit on my ass, relax and try to forget my stress. I'm not spending it staring into the face of some immature idiot.

In the end, those Killers get really low bloodpoints (tho they usually don't care- their purpose is to annoy. Nothing more). The survivors get crap blood points. They're ruining the match and wasting everyone's time. This also goes back to the daft matchmaking system where kills = skill regardless of how you got them. It just rewards poor behaviour.

Sometimes, if I see my team mates on gens and aware of the situation, I'll hang in there. But if BHVR REALLY has no intention to do a damn thing about these "legitimate strategies", then at the very least they should award blood points to the hooked survivor. As of now, there is absolutely no incentive for Solo Q randos to stick around. I'm not sure why this is such a difficult concept for BHVR to grasp. But I'm sure Feng Min needs a new hat that is of much more importance lol.

  • I can't believe threads are still being created on David lol.

Thing is, with the Rainbow community + allies being what it is online, there is no way BHVR could have released a gay character without outrage/complaints on what they did wrong, how they somehow failed etc. You have the super-woke, can never be pleased slacktivists that live to be offended. Then there are the true homophobes who don't want their main being gay. There are also people who are not homophobic, but don't like how you can't breath a word of criticism if a character is gay regardless of the reason (i.e; some people don't like ret-conning) otherwise they get accused of bigotry by the outrage-brigade.

Personally, David looks hot with his new cosmetic, so I'm cool with it. I think most players both gay and straight and everything around and between kinda don't care (thus remain silent).

But it was a real Catch 22 for BHVR. They were damned if they did/didn't.

  • Idk, I faced maybe 10 Legions this evening.

    Most just camped.

Almost no difference from the old Legion but i DO enjoy the music!

That's genuinely toxic. My situation was not more not exactly toxic, but extremely sweaty and unfun.

In your case (I've been there) you just have to immediately start crawling. Killers will usually pick you up.

I think some Killers have a bit of anxiety since the Boil Over incident. That spot on Badham was prime for survivors using the Boil Over/Flip Flop combo.

No, it's COH.. If i hear the boom of a boon then have fun lasting 10 seconds off that hook. If i can spread damage and actually slow down gens doing so, then i will, and use to do that before this abomination of a perk.

    I stand corrected, sir.

  • That's not so bad. I usually get stuck with the Wraiths that slug me as the last survivor, and even though they could easily hook me, just ring their bell over and over for the entire 4 minutes of me bleeding out just because.
