Eh, there’s already a dating sim.

May as well go all in

    True! lol

    Can't go back now lol

  • I won't be able to play again until Saturday, but yesterday was a nightmare for me in Solo Q. Loads of camping and tunneling. Loads of d/c's, survivors just killing themselves on hooks.

The only matches where we had a shot were when team mates actually genrushed. That thing Killers on this forum always said was a thing (but I'd rarely seen it). So one match everyone had Prove Thyself/toolboxes and 2-3 on a gen one after the other as much as possible. Still didn't escape because team mates would merely run out the door instead of going for end game hook rescues.

Most of my escapes were hatch escapes. One match a Blight was being super sweaty and continuously slugged me and the last survivor (for the almighty 4K), and while slugged I crawled off, hatch appeared right in front of me.

God it was just so much fun LOL. -_-

  • Am I the only DBD player who just kind of likes horror and doesn't want anime in it? Nothing against people who like anime of course.

Teamwork 100% boosts a group of survivors' chance of survival. The problem is that solo queue players aren't given enough information for that teamwork to be viable half the time. I notice that when I use aura perks, specifically ones that help others like situational awareness, aftercare, kindred, etc. and pair them with cooperative perks like prove thyself or leader, there is a lot more teamwork that goes on within the game. However, I think everyone can agree that it makes no sense that solo queue has to make their entire build around this teamwork thing for teamwork to occur while swf players already have the highest level of communication without perks and can use better perks like OTR or Lithe for example.

It is just confusing that they would buff base-kit killers but not add simple things for solo queue players like action icons next to the player names and base-kit Kindred. The killer base-kit buffs are great. Nobody should take that away from killers as it really helps out the ones that were doing poorly; However, since this makes killers do well even without using any slowdown perks at all, I think things in the game should be revised and looked at such as further slowdown perk nerfs, changes to S tier killers who were already great and now are even more powerful with the buffs, and information that solo queue players can use to communicate in their own way and encourage teamwork without taking up perk slots.

I only play Solo Q, and I never ran Dead Hard. I always had perks that benefited the team like Empathy, Botany (I could easily find an injured team mate and heal them), Borrowed Time, but I'd also have to run Decisive because tunneling is pretty common. But now, I have to run perks to get the hell away from the Killer or stealth more. I also don't want to run Botany anymore because they've made it detrimental. If I pull a brown med kit out of a chest and I'm running botany, I'm screwed. It was a perfectly fine perk before.

It's like BHVR sat around a table with 10 bottles of whisky and a white board and said "Ok gentlemen, let's shake things up! Throw some ideas out here, nothing is bad, let's cosplay AoT while we do it!".

Basekit Kindred for Solo Q would do so bloody much, and I'm gobsmacked they refuse to implement such a thing. It's only helpful to see if a Killer is camping (which they actually buffed!) and if someone is going for the save.

The guys at Magic The Gathering (the card game) noticed there are 3 main personality patterns for the people who played their game, one of those was called "Spike" (the others being Timmy and Johnny).

Spike players are people who love to win, plain and simple, they dont care about fair, they dont care about strategizing, they just want to win, always win, its the only thing that drives them, theyll use the most busted tools, characters and strategies they can to win, one determining factor these kind of players have the other 2 lack is they can win 9 games in a row and lose 1 and that lose is going to put them on a very bad mood and make them feel miserable even if 9 out of 10 is a great track, they dont care, its winwinwinwin for them (the other 2 are more concerned about winning the way they like, Timmys love to smash Johnnys love to use weird "underdog" stuff and they usually dont care about losing as long as they get to win a few matches under those conditions so they tend to be more content).

Now onto my post, if you are a Timmy or a Johnny, even as Killer this patch is actually bad, there are no underdog strategies unless you play perkless and there is no "ME SMASH ME STRONG!!" strategies because I mean, is super easy to win, stomping is only stomping when you can compare it to close call matches... now if you are a Spike who craves only wins no matter what you are DELIGHTED, this is the kind of stuff that fills your dreams, ez modo after ez modo win after win, even if they lack substance it doesnt matter, you won and thats it.

I recommend people interested giving it a read, its amazing how well the 3 archetypes fit a lot of people and you can actually identify a lot of them just by reading their posts on this forum (or any other forum and game for that matter).

Also there are powertripping kiddos who love to feel strong, this patch also suits them.

There's quite a few "Spike's" on this very forum lol

  • I'd like to know the Kill rates of Killers vs SWFs, and Killers vs Solo Q.

Basically would love to know the Solo Q escape rate.

  • I'm glad it makes some people happy, but holy crap I couldn't care less about some animu I've never seen. Idk what it has to do with DBD, but with the absolute shiteshow that the patch is, it was strategic to release these cosmetics as a fluffy; "But look how shiny!" to the people who are fans.

Because you can. Go check the official DBD discord server, it’s full of players waiting for you. You have no excuse.

Well I don't want to play with some rage filled, empathetically devoid, screeching teenager. DBD has a Solo Q option for a reason. I bough the game because of it, and they should be providing at least a semi-decent experience-again- if they are offering it (which they do).

I guess you don't get that a lot of us have jobs, and families, and mortgages and can't spend all evening finding non-offensive team mates after we get our homework finished.

You need to realize it wasn't just one perk that let to survivor handholding.

As innocent as it might seem Spine Chill was in part to blame. So were perks like Iron Will, DH, DS and many of the "Crutch perks" that got obliterated.

Well Solo Q escape rates were NOT high. BHVR took the Kill/escape rates from the survivor pool that included SWF on comms.

A lot of these "crutch perks" (that Killers have too btw!), were designed with the concept that survivors to did not have access to voice communication and coordination. That's why such changes harm Solo Q so much while SWF will still be pretty difficult for Killers.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3075433#Comment_3075433

I thought the 1 minute of old iron will would be pretty impactful too but i can see how that doesnt come into play if killer is right on top of you. And i can swear it had an effect that disrupted scratch marks but i must have been thinking of a different perk i think, wiki says it doesnt have that.

You might be thinking of Lucky Break. OTR does have grunts of pain silences, but doesn't make much difference if the Killer is right on your arse.

  • @Murgleïs said:

I don’t know either, you can get friends and play SWF any time. It’s a choice, playing with randoms provides randoms results.

A lot of can't get our friends into the game. Why do you make it sound like you can just recruit people to play your hobby?

  • @Dead_Harder said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3075403#Comment_3075403

Correct me if im wrong but isnt OTR just a better DS, i assume im missing something but not sure what.

Personally, no. I don't think it is. With DS you had a 5 second stun. You could at least try to scoot off and the Killer had to look for you again.

With OTR, it's just BT. And we all know Killers had no problem tunneling through that. It doesn't distract them, or slow them down.

  • @RichardCarter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3075380#Comment_3075380

I think something you could try is Bond, Situational Awareness (Better Together), Empathic Connection perhaps and Prove Thyself, letting people know where you are and to help cooperate on generators.

Pre-Solo Q nerf patch I always ran Blastmine. If you know this perk, it's a superior "Netter Together" and highlights the gen you're working on. I also run EMpathy all the time.

The escape rates pre=patch were pretty abysmal. Now they're non-existent. They need some kind of info system for Solo Q and to stop catering exclusively to Killers and SWF imo

  • @Dead_Harder said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3075316#Comment_3075316

Didnt mention a single perk, i said meta got completely reshuffled. This is imo akin to everybody starting over new to the game with no idea how to play and game seeming completely killer sided. We dont know what works and what doesnt, yes it seems extremely killer sided right now. I'm just saying let the meta settle and lets see if it actually is first.

The biggest problem by far playing Solo Q was the sheer level of camping/tunneling Killers. Camping can decimate a Solo Q match simply due to the lack of info.

So Devs have now nerfed anti-tunneling perks like DS into ashes. A perk I personally relied om, not for cheeky escapes, or trolling, but truly to get away from being tunneled.

Now Killers are tunneling MORE. Gen speeds are at a crawl, and you get more bang for your buck when camping a survivor at 5 gens. Idk what the "Meta" is going to be (tho Killers seem to have their already, or at leats close to it). I'm quite certain SWF will do just fine tho!. As usual.

  • @AngryHobo2 said:

I could very well be an outlier, but I play both sides and think that survivors got off easy this update.

The two "meta perks" that got nerfed were Dead Hard and Decisive Strike. Unbreakable was untouched, Lithe and Sprint Burst are still fine. No crazy new objective was added and Corrupt and Ruin both are less effective than before. Heck, survivors now all have a basekit endurance effect at the hook & a haste effect!

I understand that a lot of folks are having trouble adapting and I have some friendly advice. If you're struggling to get generators done, bring Prove Thyself. If you can hit 3-4 Great Skillchecks per generator you negate the extra ten seconds that was added to each generator.

In the face of the Dead Hard nerf I encourage survivors to pair up around the map. Have a buddy system so that heals are easier to get and in a pinch they can bodyblock for you. In SoloQ this is harder, but not impossible. You can bring perks like Bond or Aftercare to track teammates. Heck, Empathic Connection or Blood Bond work as well. Or if you don't have a slot to spare you can watch the skies for crows flying straight up. If you see a crow fly up and don't hear some ominous music get loader in that direction then you've essentially seen a teammate.

The only exception to buddying up is about certain killers. Obviously don't try and bodyblock Bubba's Chainsaw or a Tier III Myers.

I encourage everyone to take some time and just give the changes a try. They're not nearly as catastrophic as some of us are making them out to be.

So how do I, as a Solo Q player who cannot communicate with my team mates, who will who have their own ideas, "create a buddy system" that is understood and followed thru with?

The reasoning why I'm uninstalling in the first place. Did you even read my post? I wanted people to throw in their two cents to see if my experience was a common one or if it was instead an outlier. I'm getting the impression it was an outlier. No thanks to you calling me a child.

It's not an outlier position. Look at the DBD subreddit. Solo Q has been made into misery. You are not alone.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Or and hear me out here, survivors havent figured out what works best yet and instead of staying for a while and seeing how the meta settles you decided to book it.

Which is understandable but imo you just expected to just cruise along doing as well as you have been doing in a completely new survivor meta and when that, obviously, didnt happen you gave up.

Am i being optimistic in thinking the survivors experience will get better as people figure out what works best and what to abuse? Probably. But i think thats whats going to happen in 1 week max.

First of all, it's ridiculous to think Solo Q was "cruising along" because of ONE perk. A perk I, and many Solo Q survivors never even used.

Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together, who is also honest, will acknowledge that Solo Q survivors have been entirely shafted and left behind with this update. The Devs are balancing for Killers vs SWF.

I'll be the first survivor main to admit as always, that SWF was completely unfair to Killers.

Making Solo Q even more miserable, while only slightly inconveniencing SWF wasn't the epic balance BHVR advertises.

What part of "I'm uninstalling this game" is a discussion? This update hasn't even been live for more than 24 hours, and you're here to loudly proclaim how you are not going to play anymore. That's not a discussion, it's the cries of a child seeking attention.

It sucks that your experience with this update has been so bad, but again, it's still early days. Survivors are clueless on what to do, and it's become VERY obvious that a lot of higher MMR survivors don't even know how to loop properly. Their reliance on Dead Hard and other second chance perks was a crutch, and now they don't have that. This isn't the first "I'm not playing anymore" post, and it won't be the last.

    Stop being so ridiculously mean.

This person is obviously kind of shocked and unhappy at the changes. rather than be a turd, why not offer an opposing opinion in an encouraging way? Prior to this patch, the forum was absolutely flooded by Killer mains whining and complaining to nerf Dead Hard.

All they got were asspats and group therapy. Now DH is ashes.

Like why is it so hard for you to just say "You feel that way, I disagree, and here's why"?

So sick of people being chased off the forums by bullies.

  • @LittleBigSunset said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3074986#Comment_3074986

I thought this was a forum for discussing DBD. I'm offering my thoughts on the update and sharing my experience: which has been unfortunately a very bad one. I didn't realise that I'm not allowed to offer my thoughts on this forum if I no longer play the game at this time.

I'm also not sure why you're trying to antagonise and insult me for sharing said experience. You're making me out to be a bullying survivor who wants to dominate killers and relies on second chance perks such as pre-update Dead Hard. You're ignoring my criticism under the basis of "lol now you have to actually learn how to play the game git gud dummy lolololol". How is this helpful in any way? This is not to mention that I haven't used Dead Hard since it came out because everytime I used it I would fly into a tree. DS isn't a second chance perk after all of its changes because for it to work you need to get tunnelled. And in the 10% chance that you catch that same person later on and get DS'd, you know at least they haven't been doing anything productive. So I don't know what part of my post made you think that or made you so hostile.

And I'm aware that killers have had it rough, especially against SWFS. Did I literally not say that no killer deserves to get genrushed? My problem is that these changes make the solo queue experience even worse. I play a large amount of solo queue so I can weigh in on that.

Nice work calling my reasons stupid, by the way. What a good way to encourage discussion. I think the longer gen times will make solo queue mistakes that much more punishing because it gives the killer much more time to capitalise on them. Do you think that killers should deserve to have their games ended based on a single mistake eg: a bad beginning chase? I wouldn't think so.

This forum has quite a few "Killer Mains" who don't seem very mature (however, some of them are perfectly fine at the same time). I see you're newer to this forum. Atm, even the crappiest Killers are rejoicing because 4k'ing Solo Q (not SWF mind you-) is a cakewalk.

You have every right to your opinion, and you presented it in an honest, reasonable, and comprehensive way that insulted no one.

So of course, a scant few kids here can't handle it. Don't let it get you down.

  • The nerf to Decisive Strike was just bad. I just don't understand the Dev's mentality. They openly admitted camping and tunneling were issues. But then incinerated a valuable anti-tunneling perk, that had already been nerfed recently.

The Solo Q escape rate was pretty terrible before this. But look at all the Killer mains rejoicing. Even brand new Killer can get an easy 4k now, so the game is so balanced and fun!

  • I don't blame you! If any of my friends played DBD I'd probably never Solo Q again. Especially now.

They're just not interested in it.

  • Now play 10 matches of Solo Q and give us your thoughts on the changes lol.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072192#Comment_3072192

This isn't actually that hot a take, imo. I think solo queue is much more in the spirit of the game than SWF, because the idea of cross map comms doesn't jive with the premise at all.

Of course there are sensible, obvious ways to improve it, like proximity comms, being able to see your team's loadout, indicator icons so you can see what each other are doing, etc. that have been discussed and seem like good ideas.

But I think solo queue is definitely more in line with the premise of the game, and "winning" in solo definitely feels more gratifying.

I agree with this. I think part of the anxiety/mystery/intrigue of the game initially was that you as a lone survivor finds themself in a match (again and again)- you don't know your team mates. You can't speak to them. You have no idea where they are or what they're doing, but you're dependent on each other for a common goal. It added a game of chance to it all.

But then came SWF which obliterated the entire concept, while providing an absolutely massive advantage. A 4-man on comms has multiple perks built in just because they're able to coordinate (perks, items, strategies), call things out as they happen- no need to waste perk slots of Kindred, or Bond, or Empathy, or any of those things. So of course, they would coordinate with META perks, which gave already hugely advantaged teams even more of the same. The former META perks were designed pretty much for Solo Q use, where you cannot rely on your team mates and really have to run perks with that in mind.

I'm not saying people shouldn't play with their friends. Hell, I'd love it if I had friends into DBD, but ever since, Devs have been balancing the game for Killer vs SWF on comms and Solo Q is just forgettable, meaningless cannon fodder.

Honestly, think about even in a Solo match how helpful it is to see the Obsession is being chased. Just those two claws moving around the character portrait is insanely helpful. But the developers won't even give Solo Q THAT much. They just buff Killers, make a bunch of nerfs that only marginally affect SWF and make Solo miserable.

I would LOVE to see the data on the Kill rates for each Killer vs Solo Q. Have they ever released such a thing? (asking anyone).

  • I didn't think it was possible for BHVR to screw Solo Q over more than it already was. But here we are.

I ran popular perks like Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike only because they were necessary to actually play the game for more than 3 minutes, not because I liked them. So the devs sat around a table, put their eggheads together and thought; "I know! Let's nerf every perk that makes Solo Q bearable, and buff Killers, and buff camping and tunneling! Yes! That will certainly make the game way more fun!".

  • The most ridiculous one I've read today was that it doesn't matter that all of the survivor Meta perks got nerfed to ashes *because a good survivor shouldn't need to run perks at all*. Every perk is a crutch. All items are OP.

Survivors should just load into a match slugged. And if Unbreakabill becomes Meta? CRUTCH. Then the devs will nerf it. lol

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Survivors have to play expecting the worst-case scenario: that the killer can stomp them. Gen rush is how you escape, and escape is what rewards that big 5k chunk of BP.

It's just like killers who go hardcore and stomp survivors at 5 gens left. They're afraid to pull back because the moment you do 3 gens pop and you find yourself losing. Snowballing is a big part of this game. It's worse for survivors though who can find themselves eliminated in a heartbeat having earned nothing.

    ^this.

I only play on weekends, and I play Solo Q. My last 3 matches were absolute unabashed facecampers. Just had a Demo on Raccoon City stand there face to face with the hooked survivor (at 4 gens). It's absurd.

So yes. We load into a match and get gens done as fast as possible because we all know camping is nearly inevitable.

  • As a Solo Q player, I'm pretty sure Devs won't be happy until they finally create a patch where Solos enter a match all slugged. Then the Killer just has to pick them up and hook them all, hoping one of them doesnt have Unbreakabill.

Pretty sure they'll make a change like this by end of 2022.

    SWF's will be fine tho.

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3061755#Comment_3061755

If there's a down and the killer kicks a gate open before hooking... the forecast for the day predicts a 95% chance of Bloodwarden. The only other reasons for this a random endgame collapse challenge or the killer spontaneously wanting a slug race. I always take the killer opening a non-99ed gate as my cue to either GTFO or hide.

DCing to deny perks/hooks/kills shouldn't be a thing, though. I like the suggestion of the body remaining in the trial for x seconds so the killer can complete any interactions with it.

    I see what you mean.

For some reason when i read the OP it didn't click that it was the Killer who opened the gate. That's never happened to me before. As you said, it would scream "I HAVE BLOOD WARDEN". lol

  • It's crappy of them to D/C at that stage of the game, but out of curiousity, how could they have possibly known you were running Blood Warden and D/C to prevent it?

BW is pretty rare. The whole thing is that it's a nasty surprise that no one expects or can anticipate. It could have been they just rage-quit.

  • I'll give it a go, but it really looks like they screwed Solo Q over. It's already kind of miserable (but you get a great game every now and then and that keeps me playing). Now it might be unplayable, but I'd have to see for myself.

  • Botany Knowledge was more of a nerf than a buff. Sure, heal speed is faster, but it used to give us 33% on an item. Now, if you pull a brown med kit from a chest but happen to be running BK, you can't get a heal out of it. So why run it at all?

Oh right, because everything is done with SWF in mind, and screw Solo Q. I run Botany all the time. After this "buff", I won't be able to. It won't make any sense. It was a completely balanced perk before. One you don't see too much. So they had to crappify it like everything else.

  • @Sepex said:

Who cares about solo anymore? I'm likely betting over 80% of all matches are swf. The poor remaining 20% will have to suck it up.

That was so helpful, thanks for stopping by.

  • It would be nice if they came up with a way to practice Killer with bots. I only play two Killers because if I ever tried a new one, like Hag, I know I'd be slapped against an SWF my first match based on my hours as a survivor. I'd like a no pressure way to try Killers.

  • They've totally screwed Solo Q over. It didn't need to be harder for us. I'd love it if the Devs just for once stopped focusing squarely on the Killer vs SWF dynamic. Surely there is a large population of Solo Q survivors worth thinking about.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3058827#Comment_3058827

Is reduce Medkit efficiency 20%. Means Medkit charge lose 20% (as you can only heal 80 with 16 charge), or speed is 20% slower?

Yeah, see there is no point to running it. As others have said, if you pull a brown med kit out of a chest (or a green for that matter), it would be detrimental to run it.

God that's stupid. It was fine how it was.Didn't need a buff or a nerf.

  • I play this game less and less because I don't have an SWF group. Solo Q is going to be hell. Worse than it is now. I can't believe they gutted Botany of all things. I actually use that perk and it helps, but ffs, Solo Q still has a miserable escape rate.

Now DS is gutted and crappy. Like, what did we get? 5 secs built in BT. Killers already camp and tunnel through current BT and DS, but at least that combo could get someone out. Now it will just be a clown show.

Is there anywhere I can see the upcoming changes?

  • I think you have to remember how BHVR's super-special highly intelligent SBMM works: Everything you do during the game doesn't really matter. Only escaping matters (or at least, it matters the most). I know there are a few people on this forum who claim they "escape most of their Solo Q matches" but as others above have said, BS. The escape rate is probably in a range of 15%-35%. And every time you don't escape i.e: Face camped to death so get no points, tunneled out at 5 gens, team mates suck so match is a wash etc etc you don't escape and you get sucked lower and lower into the MMR vortex. You get matched with other people who also never escape; face more campers/tunnelers, and have more team mates who crouch in a corner as you go to second hook phase.

You're down the vortex further, until you can loop a newbie Killer for 4 generators easily, only to be smacked by NOED and none of your team mates look for the totem. Hatch escape? BHVR says they don't count as a real escape!

So yeah, Solo Q really REALLY needs to be looked at. It was disappointing that BHVR in their "Big Meta Shake up" did nothing for us.

  • I usually see hook suicides in Solo queue when a Killer facecamps. Or with a Bubba with a basement camping build. I'm guilty of doing it myself sometimes because when it's the 4th match in a row staring into a Killers face, what's the point? They're obviously doing it to grief other players. So why should I entertain it? And it's a predictable 4K since Solo Q's don't know it's happening until it's too late, and the whole game is a wash.

The only other time, is like @Huge_Bush said; There I am dangling off the hook in the wind (first hook), and there are my team mates across the map. One is obviously in a chase with the Killer, because those little claw thingies around The Obsession are moving. But the other two team mates are too busy checking out chests, hiding in lockers etc to come unhook me. The time comes when it's obvious they either aren't paying attention/don't care and I try to unhook myself just before I go to struggle.

And then yes, I let go. Idiocy gets tiring. Or else, I'm the random with a 3 man SWF who only cares about themselves. Screw that lol. If the team legit made an attempt to save me before struggle but couldn't, that's different. Then of course I stick around.

If BHVR forced people to stick around through absolute misery by threat of punishment, a lot less people would keep playing.

Usually they don't tunnel but still many camp the hook. I think still less than 30% of all killers tunnel. Camping is more common maybe around 30-40% of killers do it. Majority of killers play pretty fairly thought. I think if all killers would camp and tunnel itcwould increase kill rates and new update will unfortunately encourage that pop, pr, BBQ nerf and increasing gen times make those stragedies stronger and it's not that worth to leave the hook and also ds is not threat anymore.

I've noticed a huge increase in Killers camping/tunneling since the event. I watch DBD streamers (Ohmwrecker for example) and even he wondered in his last stream what was going on. Super sweat, loads of tunneling etc. You expect that at high MMR, but fr casual players it's a noticeable increase. I only play on weekends, and when I logged on last Saturday it was virtually unplayable for Solo Q. Out of 20 matches I only escaped 3 times. 2 was through the hatch. Just every match the Killer was camping, face-camping and tunneling. Then they'd slug for the 4k even if people had disconnected. or hook suicided. It was miserable.

I've been playing long enough that I've faced plenty of Killers who just play normally (meaning not facecamping at 4-5 gens or tunneling unless they were pressured). But it was pretty wild last weekend. I was wondering if because I was in Solo Q I was sucked into a low MMR vortex (It's a recipe; Load into match. Killer camps at 5 gens. Unhook, Killer tunnels and downs hooked survivor again. Survivor D/C's, and it's a domino effect of crap).

Thing is, these Killers had decent chase skills, Meta perks etc. Idk what the hell is happening. Maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe because school is out for summer lol.

  • Whenever I load into a match and hear Bayu Bayushki Bayu in the background, I'm so used to the camping and tunnelling I just try to hook myself in advance.

Idk my games lately ( I know the update hasn't hit) its non stop. Like the game isn't even enjoyable. Finished most of the event and I got the rift done, So now I think Im hanging up the towel til update day. I get that killers want kills, but honestly being on the end of tunneled and slugged and face camped until you're dead is just no fun at all and it gets boring. lol

I tried to play more this week around my life, just to try to get in on some of the event and finish the Rift. The camping/tunneling was the worst I have ever seen it. To the point I equip all the anti-tunneling perks I could. What a miserable weekend it was. Im just so tired of it.

4-5 gens up, first survivor downed, and there's the Killer on Kindred, standing at the hook beating the hooked survivor. Then that survivors d/c's or kills themselves. Idk about you, but with the nerf to DS and Solo Q in general, I think things will be worse after the update. Unless OTR goes live, but I kinda doubt that with the level of complaints.

  • It's lame. I'd rather the efficiency over speed.

Just another nerf that they tried to gift wrap as a "buff" like a sketchy real estate agent selling you a shite house and telling you " But it has character!".

  • DS being absolutely gutted is terrible for Solo Q. It's a dead perk now. The nerf makes no sense, as it's been recently nerfed already. A 3 second stun is laughable.

Solo Q has been becoming miserable in the past year, The camping/tunneling has been so bad, that I just stopped playing regularly. What's the point? And now, when I do log in, I HAVE to equip Deliverance, DS, BT, and I get one perk slot for exhaustion. We equip these perks (and the other meta) in Solo Q because they're necessary if we ever want to actually play the match we loaded into. Solos escape so seldomly. and now this "hurrrrr meta-shake-up" tomfoolery will ensure Solos never get out (I don't believe OTR will go live as is just FYI. The whinging on the forums is too strong and BHVR always capitulates unless it's for Solo Q).

I think it's just ridiculous they made DS into a useless perk. And the most laughable part? It STILL has a skill check that can be missed! Why would a dead perk need a skill check? lol

I live on solo q because this game is like mario kart wii for horror fans I have never had a fun night playing this with friends lol! The whole MMR based on player level already sucks and I get tunneled through DS already, I can't imagine what playing this in a few months is going to be like when tunneling gets really bad :( I used to love playing this game because it requires strategy but now it just feels like the devs are making this game unbearably difficult to play.

Feel the same way as you. I'd love to find an SWF at this point because Im just tired of it.

No one I know will touch the game tho lol

  • I'm mixed on this issue.

Solo Q NEEDS a buff. For the love of God, it's hell. And after the new update it will only get worse. It seems developers have completely abandoned us.

    However, I've had other Solo Q survivors message me after matches just foul-mouthed rage. Doesn't happen that often, but let me give you an example;

Match in Ormand. I knew it would be sketchy because two players in the Lobby were named: "MsKitty". Second one; "I_luv_MsKitty".

Great. But I decide not to judge and go ahead.

MsKitty and her worshipper of course, are incredibly altruistic towards each other to the point of detriment. Gets to the end game, Killer is Doctor. He has NOED. MsKitty managed to escape because I_luv_MsKitty did a rescue/hook exchange to get her out. Other survivor is dead. I'm on the other side of the map, the Gate was opened (by MsKitty). I open my gate. I_luv_MsKitty has Kindred. I can see the Doctor is literally Facecamping and shocking constantly. There is *no way I can make that save*. It is suicide. So I leave.

Then comes Mr and Ms Kitty messaging me with absolute rage. Calling me "A scared little p***y! Why play the game if you're so scared?? Hurrrrrrr expletives curses"

I blocked them. But with Voice chat, holy crap- do I really want to deal with that everyday? We all know DBD is filled with some pretty nasty little basement dwellers, do I want them screeching at me everytime I log in?

ALL KEYS ARE USELESS NOW. lol

I said it in another thread; I haven't seen keys used (maybe 1 out of every 50 matches) since the massive key/hatch nerf. I have keys piling up in my inventory, spend buttloads of BPs on them, and their stupid add-ons. So why is this; 1. Green. 2. Still a thing?

Keys have been gutted. They and their add-ons should not be these high cost items we have to waste BPs on.

hot take, but keys should've been entirely reworked and based around chests to work as basically a pocket ace in the hole build.

since we already have locks, there should be ways to open the locks without breaking them

They could have done SOMETHING with them ffs. Now they just pile up in my inventory and I resent having to spend 7k BPs on them when they're useless. That makes all the key Add-ons useless as well. I rarely if ever see anyone bring a key "for it's aura reading abilities".

It also encourages selfish BHVR if someone actually does bring one. Because they'll just let their team mates die so they get to use it.

Another change that crappifies Solo Queue even more. And I get SWF key escapes could be demoralizing for Killers. I've had it happen to me. All it took was one of them saying over comms "The hatch is by the tractor". And bam. So they buff Killers, nerf Solo survivors into the ground in the attempt to balance Killer vs the almighty SWF.

Solos are just the cannon fodder thrown to the Killers to make life less frustrating after an SWF game.
